Omg the servers here are so genuinely nice and helpful. I walked in at 6:56 ( not knowing they stopped serving at 7). They were so willing to help, so nice and sweet and also helped point out a nice motel!!The food is delicious!! I 100% recommend. (I had the bacon cheeseburger , Turkey and Stuffing Poutine AND dessert!.)…. I couldn’t eat it all but my oh my was it yummmmyyy!!

Really cozy atmosphere and friendly staff. This place does not have a license to serve alcohol, which was a little disappointing. Coffee was ok. Something activated my allergies 5 minutes after arriving. Not sure what it was, but I wanted to claw my eyes out.

One of my favourite stops in Cape Breton! Enjoyed a hearty, delicious breakfast. Asked for extra bacon and wished I hadn't!! Had NO idea the meal would come with SO much bacon. Even getting all that extra bacon, the meal came in at a great price. Staff were friendly and courteous. Loved the girl that served us, she had a classic Cape Breton accent and was incredibly friendly.

Just had my 3rd meal in a week here. The mussels and fish&chips are excellent. The Chef came out and talked to us and the atmosphere was excellent. The deserts are so good you have to save room. Well worth it! I am a return customer. Good job guys!

Ate here on a Sunday after getting off the boat. Fantastic breakfast and non stop coffee. Payed about 11.50 for a breakfast and coffee. Very reasonable price.

We were curious of this restaurant from the beginning when we moved here last year. We were not disappointed. Food we ordered fish and chips homemade were fantastic. Gravy was awesome. Great selection of traditional food and creative items (spicy thai nachos were great). Red Pepper soup is delicious, but it's more of a bisque imo. Items are priced higher but worth it for the quality. Service was friendly and quick. However men's bathroom was out of service and paper towel.

Unlike other comments, we didn’t enjoyed this restaurant. Service was ok and friendly. Fish n chips tartare sauce was not home made (kraft...) , salad dressing wobbly (which is not how it is supposed to be)

Decor is nice and staff very friendly. My friend had the steak (rare) and was impressed that they actually made it rare. I had the spaghetti and liked it, although they used canned mushrooms. A good variety for everyone, from liver and onions to maple curry chicken pasta.

(Translated) I can only follow the negative comments here. The staff is friendly and tries hard. But the food was the worst we ate during our 3 week tour of Nova Scotia. Both the spaghetti and the fish were bland and spicy. And it was not hot, just lukewarm. (Original) Ich kann mich hier eigentlich nur den negativen Kommentaren anschließen. Das Personal ist freundlich und gibt sich Mühe. Aber das Essen war das schlechteste das wir während unserer 3 wöchigen Rundreise durch Nova Scotia gegessen haben. Sowohl die Spaghetti als auch der Fisch waren fad und schlecht gewürzt. Und es war alles nicht heiß, nur lauwarm.

The food was great! A cozy little place with rustic decor. I absolutely loved it. The staff was very nice. We showed up on a day when Santa happened to be visiting and there were no tables left but they still let my little guy visit him and get a treat bag. We will definitely be back soon.

Always a great experience dining here. Friendly, welcoming service, cozy atmosphere, and amazing food. The chicken fettuccine Alfredo is a must try as well as the spicy Thai nachos. Great portion sizes as well. I always leave happy and full. If you're in the area I highly recommend stopping in and trying it for yourself, you'll be glad you did.

Kitchen 1409 is one of my favourite breakfast places on the entirety of Cape Breton Island. Friendly staff, a cozy environment, and absolutely delicious food. On top of all that, the portions are humongous! My personal recommendation is the Big Bras d'Or Breakfast - you'll love it!
