Every foodie should eat here. The haddock tacos are the best you will ever have. A culinary experience that rivals larger cities, but with friendly staff and a relaxed pace. Plus, live music from local songwriters playing at a comfortable volume. Thank you to Chef Robert!

We arrived on a busy night. But they found a table for the two of us. Environment was warm welcoming live band was just setting up as we were taking our seats. Quickly served our ice water. Shortly after brought us a multigrain and a white bun. They were tough to cut in to and tasted slightly off. We both returned out buns to the basket. Server was back promptly to take our orders. I had Apple and Quinoa Salad to start which came out after only a short wait. Greens were crisp. Dressing delicious. 5 star starter. Next was the seafood chowder for my main. It was on point rich creamy nice blend of shrimp potatoes and white fish. Cape Breton is home to some amazing seafood chowders this one didn't stand out amongest other local restaurants but was a very warm enjoyable meal. Music wasn't to my taste however I did appreciate listening to local talent. Overall 4 star experience will be eatting here again.

I've never written any reviews in my whole life. But you guys should know this. They use expired pork meat. I couldn't bite them because they were really hard. Lol their best food is chicken wings lol

We when there for a great supper and served garbage ,my ordered fish and chips and it came out over cooked we sent it back and the waitress came back from the kitchen and said another order would be the same .I think they need to get a new chef that can cook fish. Kiju's is not a good place!

Excellent, varied menu including emphasis on local products and First Nations-derived dishes. Rack of lamb chops incredible. Fish and chips with local haddock a tad overcooked but still wonderful. Busy early. Non descript exterior but great I side decor.

Fantastic dining! I have eaten here at least 6 or 8 times over the last several months and finally took the time to review but it would be 4 or 5 stars every time! All the dishes are mouth watering and I love some of the more traditional options like corn bread and beans. I usually don't eat desserts but this is the place to ask for a dessert menu! The service has always been fast and friendly and I would highly recommend! Will return!

This place was AMAZING. The food and service (by Jordan) were incredible. There was also a wheelchair available at the front door for my mom to use to access the restaurant which was perfect. I would recommend this place to anyone visiting Sydney, I will absolutely be back!

I ordered the 6 oz steak and asked it to be made to medium. Steak came out to be over cooked and dry. Very small portioned and the baked potato was not either. Atmosphere was very nice. Had live music playing servers were very friendly and nice.

Enjoyed a lovely lobster special last night at Kijus, and great service from Devon. Will definitely be back and well worth the short covered walk from the Hampton Inn Hotel.

I've eaten at Kiju's several times, and it's always amazing. The food is so fresh and flavourful, and the service is fast and friendly. There are a number of wonderful vegetarian options- I highly recommend the Squash Ravioli and Coconut lentil Risotto. After a long day of meetings, it's nice to just take a quick walk across the pedway to have a nice meal, and there's usually musical entertainment as well.

Was hungry needed grub close to hotel. Ordered, ready fast, short hop across pedway and back, and I was eating. Wowza yummy was not expecting that. Very impressed will go again next time in town. Will go for sit down meal. Be well

If I could give ZERO stars I would! We left the restaurant feeling like we've been robbed. The crab to filler ratio of the crab cake was horrible, didn't even taste like crab. The scallop risotto had one small scallop on a mountain of rice. It was not risotto, just regular rice in a sauce whit maybe 4 pieces of mushrooms. My boyfriend had the haddock - it was tasteless, we got that off the bill. I had the barbecue duck. It was chewy and not tasty, I didn't even eat the sides. Anyways... Do yourself a favor and go to another restaurant.

Food is excellent here. The music is too notch to! Servers just need a bit more training on how to set the mood for live music. Don't stick everyone at the back and start cleaning the tables in front of everyone before the music is over. Probably makes more sense to end the music at 830 if the restaurant closes at 9

Went here with a friend it was a nice place but the food was awful, I ordered a turkey dinner and it was nothing like a turkey dinner that I'd recognize anyhow I did return it and it was taken off the bill and they were cordial and nice about it.

We have a baby and I must say, this is the first place that has a “baby bowl” on the menu! It was a healthy dish of soft cooked veggies, chicken breast and mashed potatoes. I had the Korean style short ribs; they were excellent and came with great sides. My wife is vegetarian and loved the mushroom pasta (there is a fancy name for the dish but I can’t remember it), and my seven year old loved his burger and fries off the kids menu... and it came with an ice cream sundae. It was a great meal, nice venue and very handy to the Hampton Inn. Definitely recommend it!

The meal was terrible...the shore meal...dried lobster...couldn't substitute a small piece of corn for a garden salad...couldn't buy a glass of merlot .corn was burnt....I will never go back..

I had the halibut entree and my husband had the salmon...both fish cooked perfectly! So delicious! Veggies with the meal as well very fresh and perfectly cooked! The clam paella side with the halibut could have used a bit more seasoning. Our little guy had the kid's fish and chips and loved it.

Great food comfortable atmosphere, server was friendly prices were very reasonable. Only suggestion that would make it a 5 star would be better condiment management instead of just throwing a pile of packets on the table(which was far from enough salt pepper ketchup mustard). Went at 4pm so there was plenty of room especially during social distancing HOWEVER seating was not 6 feet apart from table to table AND contact tracing was only done by taking one person's phone number....there was 4 households of people(4 people who live alone) but only information was taken from one person rendering contact tracing non existent essentially

Just okay, especially for being upscale. Had one great, one just okay salad. The stuffed pork loin was as dry as the Sahara desert. Speaking of desserts, the apple crisp was anything but. It was essentially apple sauce. Seriously, mushed, ground up apples without chunks and if there was a crisp in it, it had dissolved. Bread pudding was okay, but neither came out warmed. My wife enjoyed her crab cakes but felt there was some shells in it. The turkey was again just so-so. The atmosphere was nice and the staff friendly (if not a little air-headed). Disappointed overall considering how awesome the menu read.

Had a great meal here! The kids menu had great options and beautiful quality food. They were $8 each for the meal, drink, and dessert. The adult menu was wonderful as well. Not an overwhelming amount of options, but a good variety. The food came out quickly, was very nicely presented, and treated wonderful. Our server was Pat and he was perfect!

I was here a couple weeks ago, for a late dinner. My sisters fish tacos were weird as heck (very strange combination of sauces) but my fish chowder was okay. That is, until I got horribly sick after eating there. I would advise against eating their chowder.
