The food was great and our server was amazing. I believe her name is Tara. Before waiting on us, a customer at another table gave her a hard time (for no reason). She handled it with dignity and grace, never once allowing the rude comments effect her mood. She treated the difficult customer with kindness even though it wasn’t being returned. Not only did she handle that situation flawlessly, she was informative about the menu and restaurant as a whole and made our entire table feel great about our dinner choices. We will be back because of Tara.

I could eat the Chicken Bacon Mac n Cheese every day for the rest of my life. 3 times a day. It is AMAZING. I’ve tried many other menu items, and they’ve always been absolutely delish, but the Chicken Bacon Mac n Cheese is a must-try!

I read the only other review and was astounded that they gave anything less than five stars. Perhaps it was the dish that person ordered or that it was early in the soft opening. But all I can do is rave. The first time I went my sister and I ordered the chicken shawarma (na’an wrap, chicken shawarma, mint yogurt, cilantro, and toasted chickpeas + French fries) and smoked meat sandwich (tender brisket, Dijon mayo, shredded cheese, and pickles on marble rye + French fries). We decided to split both and couldn’t be happier. The inclusion of roasted chickpeas in the shawarma wrap gives it the perfect smoky crunch. Neither of us got through our first bite of the smoked brisket without groaning in satisfaction. The tartness or the pickles and bite of the Dijon were mouthwatering. And the fries are perfectly cooked. The mandarin-cucumber salad is also lovely and is a meal in and of itself. I can’t wait to continue sampling through the menu. For the restaurant itself, I couldn’t be more impressed. Careful thought has been put into every detail. The decor is modern but subtle. The off white walls are complimented beautifully with natural, accents in the furnishing. Even the condiments are thoughtful. The salt and pepper shakers have a local flair, as they look like miniature, repurposed mason jars and the ketchup bottle has a narrow spout so shaking the bottle doesn’t dump ketchup water on your plate. Finally, and my favourite fine detail, is that the cutlery is wrapped in a napkin, but also has a napkin laid below so that it doesn’t touch the table. Some local restaurants will lay a knife and fork down on the table itself, rather than even a paper placemat. Tables are often wiped clean with a wet rag, but not properly washed down until the end of the day. So I was thrilled by this detail. If you have a sweet tooth, check out the Parlour Sweet House, which is also the dessert source for those eating in. Delicious selections vary. I tried a strawberry mousse, which I powered though the piece was huge. Another time was an amazing salted caramel brownie with a pretzel crust. I’ve since tried a cappuccino nanaimo bar as well. I could eat a pan of them. On my second visit, I asked to speak with the owner if they were available. Co-owner, Nagy, was kind enough to come to the table and we spoke at length about the careful choices he and his consulting team have brought to Sydney. He is from Cairo but fell in love with Cape Breton and decided the time was right t9 start a new business. Cape Breton has always been rich with culture and has a dynamic immigrant history so it has been such a pleasure to have a surge of new culture and citizenship. It just goes to show how fortunate we are to have Cape Breton University continuing to extend their reach into new countries.

The food was good but supper oily and the prices were outrageous! $18 for just a sandwich and $8 for a tortilla with cheese. On top of it all my water did not indicate at ALL that side was not included.

took some time to get our food because delivery took priority. At least I showed up . Fries were cold and the wrap could use more chicken. the portions were small .Twice Had to remind the waitress what we asked for in drinks. 2 stars for the hummus to bad the bread that came with it was burnt to a carbon state

I'd give here a 3.5. Came for breakfast on a pouring Sunday morning in October and arrived right when they opened at 9am, with street parking spots available right in front. There was a family ahead of me who had reservations and were seated at one of the larger tables, and then I was offered a choice of booths. Very friendly service. This used to be the Maple Leaf Restaurant I think? Simple atmosphere with two windows in the front, basic wooden tables, warm earth-tone walls, very clean, seating for maybe 30-40? There's also a new sidewalk patio out front which would be great for summer evenings. Decent brunch menu with some variety. I tried the eggs benny of the day (avocado & bacon) which was good, side of standard home fries. There was nothing unique about it but zero complaints. Filling for sure. I would come back any time.

My husband and i really enjoy the food here. Our first trip back since the last lockdown and it won't be our last. The only little problem for us, was the fact that u only get a tiny little serving of salsa when u order Nachos. Then, of course u order more Salsa and u are charged $1.00 which i think is ridiculous!!!! So come on folks give us a break!! Still love your food.

Ordered Mac & Cheese and a smoked meat sandwich. The Mac & cheese was very good, but the smoked meat sandwich was the worst I have ever seen, and we ended up not eating it. It came with things on it that are not mentioned on the app, and had barely any meat on it, it also fell apart inside the box because the box was too large for the sandwich. Mac and cheese was a 4/5 and the sandwich was a 0/5. We will try again but avoid ordering a sandwich, as the Mac and cheese was good. Hopefully will be better the second shot.

This is definitely a restaurant to try out!! I ordered a clubhouse and never had it made different but was fantastic. It's more like a Flatbread cooked on a grill so cheese is melted. I don't do spices so can have it made any way you like. Prices are reasonable and staff great! It's a new restaurant with great food!! Only problem was parking but was worth the walk.????????

Was there on Saturday the 26th. My partner and I were served by Dakota and we absolutely enjoyed our tasty mid-bike ride feast of chicken and bacon mac n cheese. Dakota was very attentive through the meal and engaged us in nice conversation about bicycling. Not our first time eating 7x7 and won't be our last.

Recently placed a order for 3 people the cost for what we received was very expensive. Two club house sandwiches were just that not triple decker, no fries, and 1 poutine which was very small. These 3 items came to 46.00.

I cannot say enough. From the moment I walked in I was greeted warmly and made to feel welcome. Seating is comfortable, lighting and music were relaxing. Our server Dakota was so sweet and knowledgeable about the menu. On to the food: Many restaurants are doing wonton nachos now but these were next level. The pickled onions were genius and the spice rub out of this world. My wife had the whisky barbecue burger which was delicious on its own but was accompanied by the best hand made fries that were so good on their own; no ketchup needed. I had the Tom Yam soup and it was the spicy umami I was craving with a generous portion of tender shrimp. The chefs and staff know what they are doing here. It's not often a restaurant nails the trifecta of food, atmosphere and service but 7x7 does it. I cannot wait for my next visit.

Very modern & quaint inside and the service was top notch. I'm awful with names but my waitress was just the bees knees and such a pleasure to meet. A friend and myself split the wonton nachos as an appetizer and they were so so good! The pickled onions were such a nice touch and what really made all the difference was the homemade spice on the chips. I had the hamburger and fries and everything was fresh, crisp and delicious. Can't wait to go back to try their breakfast. As a side note, the layout inside is designed wonderfully to accommodate both small and large groups without ever feeling cramped or crowded and still keeping to covid restrictions and distancing.

Excellent eatery with healthy food. They don't have a large menu but we do have our favorites e.g. the wraps and salad. Very tasty and in my opinion delicious. A different flavor which is a nice change. Well spaced, for social distancing and clean. Right now i would say 7 x 7 is my fav. Give it a try folks!!!

Wow! The service was outstanding! Our waitress was incredibly pleasant, she was very attentive to us and made for a very pleasing experience. The food was delicious. I had the brisket sandwich and fries while my wife had the curried beef wrap and tofu salad. She gave the salad a glowing review, and the wrap was also delicious. The brisket sandwich was so good, but the real star is the French fries. I don't know what they do to them but they are seriously the best fries I've ever eaten, and I've eaten a lot of fries. If you're stuck for a place to go for lunch or supper, go to 7by7, you won't regret it. BEST. FRIES. EVER.

EXCELLENT MEALS! Have already been here twice in the last 2 weeks, will be back many times. Could not get over how fantastic the food was here. Everything was delicious, the portions were perfect and you cannot beat the price. The variety is great too with a combination of international and canadian dishes. 10/10 can't wait to eat here again!
