As you know, we don't usually stop to place feddbacks when these are good and we usually do it only if we have had a problem or incidence...
This Restaurant is classified in the category of Japanese restaurant.
I like the lounge but it's been closed lately. You can still get a seat by yourself at the sushi bar in the main dining room and they do accomodate groups. Consistently good Japanese food with a large selection. There is subjectively better sushi in town but when you're craving sushi at 8:30pm this is your best bet.
I’ve had better sushi at a gas station! Eat a Fart O-sho! Up charge to make your meat options vegetarian? $4 bottle water? You can suck it!! If anyone wants proper sushi in Lethbridge go to Dono sushi!
Great sushi on the prairies! Wide selection of nigiri, rolls, cones, and specialty dishes. Staff is helpful and restaurant is clean. There are traditional booths, regular booths, tables, and sushi bar in a reasonable sized space. This location does considerable take-out volume and always seems to be busy - which helps keep stock fresh and tasty.
I went here for supper two nights ago. The staff were very friendly. I think my waitress was new and wasn't all that attentive, but she was friendly and seemed to work pretty hard, as did all of them. My food came quickly after I finally ordered. I got the special assorted sushi, as I have never had any kind of fish eggs before. The presentation was beautiful and the food tasted fantastic. The taste and quality rivals even the most expensive sushi places I've eaten at in the big city. If you like sushi, go here!
Great food. Nice atmosphere
Amazing service, great price, and amazing sushi!
You walk in, and immediately it looks like the place hasn't been updated this millenia. But they have a huge, well cared for saltwater aquarium, so we'll let that slide. You get the menu, and everything is on the expensive side. I order a boat, because I like the variety and usually they're a good deal. But what shows up is far less than I expected. The menu said something like "Assorted Sashimi; Tuna, Salmon, and Crab Sushi," which I understood as a few Sashimi with 6pcs each of Tuna, Salmon, and Crab Sushi rolls, a pretty standard boat. No, we get about 5 pieces of Nigiri, 5 pieces of Sashimi, with a small bowl of rice for $23. Which is rather disappointing because I prefer rolled sushi. And it really didn't taste any better than Fusion, or any of the other cheaper Sushi places. Didn't taste fresher. That being said, the service was good, but I think that's because there appeared to be only one other table occupied. That combined with the horrid parking situation, I really can't recommend O-Sho.
Love their Katsu and Teriyaki dishes. Little on the pricey side for me, but their staff is great, and everything always looks clean to me. Great atmosphere and lots to chose from on the menu.
Love this place! Option to sit in traditional seating or table. I personally find it a fun experience to sit in the traditional side. Their Crispy Crispy dish is my absoulate favorite. Good for someone that likes shrimp but aren't to adventurous with other fish dishes. Just under $10 for one of these, but well worth it!
Love this place, food is amazing and the atmosphere and experience of the traditional rooms was awesome. Service was fantastic and prices were very reasonable.
I just love oshos. It's my favourite sushi in town. Been coming here for years and years. The selection is always great and the prices are really fair. The staff is super friendly and helpful. The food comes out way faster than you'd expect and I always find the prices to be super fair. I'll continue supporting them because I think they're the best doing it in lethbridge.
THEY NEVER ANSWER THEIR PHONES Prices are high for what you get and everything is an upcharge. But has a really cool atmosphere and the food is good
I've been coming here for over 10 years now. In fact, this was my introduction to sushi. The food is always great, they have some of the best sashimi ever. It's also a great date spot - front area for newer couples, and the booths for more established relationships. I consider this a must visit location in Lethbridge. Seriously, go there!!
Overpriced and undercooked. I have now tried both O-Sho downtown and the new O-Sho express on the westside, both have been terrible. The rice was overcooked, the yam in the yam tempura roll was undercooked, literally hard. A California roll for $7?!? Miso soup for $3?!? Sushi in Lethbridge is INCREDIBLY overpriced and the quality is not even worth half of what they charge. Skip sushi altogether in Lethbridge.
Made an order for pick up tonight as delivery is slow and it arrives cold and soggy . Missing sauces for tempera. Called and was first offered to have sauce sent.. I point out the food would be cold. Then offered to send a new dish. I asked for credit for dish. Manager took my call and advised that missing sauce is like getting fries with no ketchup... He was horribly rude. Without the appropriate sauces it's flavorless food. IF..big if... we return we will not order to go. The portions are small and overpriced compared to is served in the restaurant. I have had better food and service at the food court in the mall.
Love the atmosphere! Unique Japanese restaurant where you can go standard (basic dining table) or traditional (enclosed in a room behind shoji window panels and the seats are uplifted as if you are eating a traditional Japanese home). Enjoyed their veggie dishes as well!
By far the best sushi I've had and I've had sushi all over North America. As well there tempura shrimp is to die for and they're green tea ice cream for dessert just love this place my food order is perfect every time no screw ups and there fast
The chicken and beef teriyaki was great. The Katsu with noodles was ok. Wait staff could be better, but I went for the food not service.
Great sushi and I love the traditional sitting, I would always have my meals this way if I could. Staff are always friendly and happy to serve you. Other than sushi they have lots and lots of other choices I would guarantee their is something for everyone on the menu.
Osho's used to be my favorite sushi restaurant but recently their quality seems to have gone down. While the food is still generally good, other sushi restaurants in town seem to do better with a few notable exceptions. The tuna at osho's seems to be fresher than anywhere else and prepared better. Where osho's really falls down is in presentation and plating. They just don't cut it compared to Dono's and . However due to their first rate location and great service, Oshos is still a great choice.
Meal type
I love the tempura dinner at O-Sho's, it has a little bit of everything (tempura prawns or salmon, rice rolls, miso soup, noodle salad, chicken katsu, beef teriyaki and veggies). If you're not sure what to order this dish is an awesome choice. The restaurant is clean with Japanese traditional serving rooms which are something you should try it really enhances the experience. They have a sushi bar too, if you love sushi! We found out from the waitress that they also cater to groups and have a lounge as well. All round great experience. It was the second time my sister was at a Japanese restaurant and at first she was nervous but totally enjoyed the service and the meal.
Not sure if rice used are sushi rice. Presentation needs more effort
This was my first time here. We were asked if we wanted traditional seating or a booth. We, of course, picked the traditional Japanese seating. Our server promptly brought us water and took our beverage orders. We were pleased with the food selection as there were several items my daughter could choose from as she. Annoy eat sushi (she is pregnant). The food did not disappoint! Everything was absolutely enjoyable! I will definitely go back!
Tonight we ordered take out and were extremely disappointed. The service over the phone was very rude and the girl was short with me. When the food arrived the boxes were smashed and leaking everywhere, not to mention the quality of the food was the poorest I’ve ever seen at Oshos plus there were portions of the meal missing. When paying almost 100$ for a meal you expect to get what you ordered for one and two the quality should match the price. After 15 years of ordering from oshos we won’t be anymore. Extremely disappointed.

Food comparable to regular Japanese fast food but expensive. Rolls are very small and cost each $15. Not worth the money or time.
I’m sitting in your lobby right now surrounded by about 14 people crammed in here shoulder to shoulder. Look, I know the takeout will be awesome like it always is but you clearly didn’t have a strategy for accommodating social distancing during a severe cold warning on a day that’s always busy for you. This isn’t on the super friendly and helpful staff at the front, this is on your management.
Service
Every time I go here I have an allergic reaction to shrimp when I order teriyaki beef or chicken. It’s like they cook all meat and fish on the same grill. I recommend going to the Westside location as I’ve never had an allergic reaction with any of their teriyaki’s.
If you like sushi, don't go to O-Sho. It's one of the only sushi places I've eaten at where I pretty much have to dunk every single piece in soy sauce to get some actual flavor. However, their noodles, katsu, teriyaki, and other dishes are amazing. The lunch and dinner specials are an incredible deal, and I would gladly eat them any day of the week. As long as you go for the right menu items, you will not be disappointed.
Never ceases to amaze, food is always on point and always leave satisfied. Would highly recommend ????
Very good Maki rolls, fresh sashimi, nice presentation, friendly staff
Love this place! We go regularly. I usually get the Tempura dinner because you can sample a wide variety of foods and everything is so delicious.
Oh Sho's is super fun and great food. The sushi is excellent and the dining experiences really awesome if you go 'traditional'.
Only stopped in a few times, once for beer with a girl and another for sushi with a friend. Staff are friendly, but not outgoing. I like to chat a little with my servers, and as a server myself, I try and do likewise for my tables. But the food is always good and the service prompt. Love Boat all the way. Great job guys, keep it up.
Service was excellent as always. Food tasted fantastic. Love this place and we will keep coming back.
Service was great and food came out really fast! However, quality was not quite there. I'm not saying it's bad sushi, but nothing was memorable. It was very average compared to most restaurants that I've been to. One thing that was a huge disappointment was the presentation. Sushi was very messy (rice stuck outside of my maki rolls), and the rolls were very loose. Authentic Japanese food is an art form, that the chef should take pride in presenting.
The hostess had an awful disposition and attitude. We waited for 10 mins to be seated, their front of house service leaves much to be desired. The soft shell crab roll was ok, a tad on the bulky side. And since when did romaine lettuce featured in a sushi roll?!
I loved it the staff was very helpful they explain to you what the product was if you didn't know you can and what people usually ordered I will keep coming back to this place as often as I can keep up the good work
I went there to see the ???? but kept going back for the food.
Really great food. However, they just discontinued my favourite dish. Aside from that, staff are nice, knowledgeable and welcoming. Really enjoy the layout of the restaurant as well, the traditional booths are really nice and private.
When i had gone to Osho's I was sat down in the lounge area where there were traditional japanese screens, and tablesetting. I ordered the sashimi, as well as some other hand rolls and a cosmo. The cosmo was perfect and delighted my senses. The fish was also fresh, plump, and full of flavour. All in all I recommend Osho's for a good night out.
I have been my here for years and there are things at O-sho that I love. I have to give 4 stars because I decided to try out their new poke bowl and I was really disappointed. They put the food into a ridiculously small bowl! It looks pretty and very impressive but completely impractical. Then they put a huge layer of lettuce and cabbage under all the food stuff which I made a huge mess taking most of it out and then I had a side plate of salad. So what looked like a huge amount of food was actually salad.... Very disappointing. The overall quality of the food items in the bowl was good - tuna, seaweed salad, edamame, carrot, mango, kale, and rice. Put it into a bigger bowl with less lettuce and cabbage and I would order this again. 5 start service. My son loves coming here.
It's not bad, as traditionally as you can get with Japanese restaurant. I honestly have not seen this style of Japanese restaurant since the 90's. Food is surprisingly good, despite the restaurant appearance, and the tempura is probably among top quality compare to many other Japanese restaurant.
Service and experience are awesome. Highly recommend the tempura banana with ice cream.
Consistent, quality place. Doesn't disappoint. Restaurant ambiance and rooms are a little on the 'clinical' side and need a bit of updating; and, pricing isn't as competitive compared to other venues of similar quality. The lounge is the best part of the establishment.
I like going here quite a bit. everytime I have always had great food and fantastic service. Anytime I want to branch out and try something new there, I feel safe knowing its delicious every single time
Liked the food, would go back again
This restaurant has been an institution in Lethbridge and I've probably eaten here at least 100-200 times over the years since I was a kid and tried my first piece of sushi. I have yet to have a meal or service that is less than excellent.
Oshos is absolutely my favorite place to get sushi in Lethbridge. Regardless of how busy the place is they always have the food out within 15 - 20 minutes. The selection is great and the rolls are always a decent size, especially in comparison to other sushi places in town. The appetizers are large proportions compared to Light House and Dono's. The seafood is fresh and the staff are always happy to see us. Service is great and I love the traditional seating! Overall, nothing beats its!!!
Meal type
We took our kids for a family dinner and there was even something for the picky eaters of the family. The traditional seating at the back has fantastic ambience and the food was amazing (we've only done takeout there before and already love the food)

I find delivery is better than eating in. Things go by quicker. You also go into lounge to eat. If it is open. It isn't worth waiting a half hour to have your order taken or to be seated. Even if they were doing their cash out. Atleast stop what you are doing to take orders or seat ppl. It gives a bad impression. I used to enjoy eating here but slowly. I stopped caring for it. Especially after feeling like I was intentionally ignored.
Food did not taste to standard but seating was nice.
Good food good service fun place... make sure you get one of the traditional rooms they're pretty cool okay
Love this place. The private tables are cozy. Staff is awesome and friendly. The food was once the best around but it has slipped, just a little. Still 5 stars.
Would strongly suggest never ordering pickup unless you're staring at a menu or have memorized the prices. Amazing sushi and great staff but communication is very poor on the phone which has now cost me over 40 dollars more than I expected to pay between 2 trips.
I've just moved to Lethbridge early this year, and in St. Albert I used to have a favourite Japanese restaurant. When I found out how highly recommended O-Sho is, I immediately came here with my fiancée and had some of the most amazing sushi I have ever eaten. I now eat at O-Sho quite regularly, and am never disappointed. If you're a fan of sushi, katsu, ramen, udon or other staples of Asian cuisine, this is easily the place to go for them.
One of my favorite sushi places ever, great vegetarian options; their inari nigiri is completely stuffed with rice so not too sweet, very fresh tamago, good yam tempura and yam tempura rolls, standard miso soup, good age dashi tofu, excellent gluten free chocolate torte and ice cream desserts -- but their seaweed salad is a tad fishy and overpriced for the cost, and service can sometimes be a bit slow. Ramen also a bit salty. Their green tea can take on the taste of chlorine a bit sometimes, but that's a fault of the Lethbridge tap water, not necessarily the restaurant.
Consistently great service and quick, amazing, good quality food. The traditional rooms are private and fun. Pretty clean as well. My little girl loves the idea of sushi, and we are never disappointed. I've been a somewhat regular customer for almost 20 years, and I recommend O-Sho to anyone.
Lots of food for a good price, and I really like the traditional seating, really handy for big groups.
Pricey. Don't overly recommend the drinks, tho I do like the Japanese import beers. They pair very well with teriyaki beef, which itself was excellent although the sides left something to be desired. The sushi was simple tuna and salmon but on point. What you're really coming here for is the decor, the lounge especially leaves a very exotic yet classy appeal. Could hang out here for a few.
My family absolutely loves the authentic food and the cubbies you can sit in ,the staff is always friendly highly recommended the sushi ???? is the bomb .
My Family and I Love going here for a nice change from the usual. Great atmosphere, service and food. It's a good place to try some new flavors, and some exotic proteins. I highly recommend the eel.
Great sushi, been visiting this restaurant as long as I can remember, and they never disappoint. Traditional seating is available, as well as bar seating in case you want to watch your sushi be made. Staff are always friendly, and provide excellent service.
Delicious food! Love the Tempura dinner here. The traditional rooms, and kimonos/yukatas also add a sense of immersion and are very satisfying. I would recommend this place to anyone.
Great food, service and atmosphere. So happy staff were keeping us safe wearing masks and complying with covid guidelines! Thank you!
Got there early since we had a large group. Bill was 300$. Some items are overpriced for what u get-20$ for a thin slice of salmon on a bed of iceberg lettuce and potatoes??. The small bowls of rice were very dry..the group got served but they forgot 2 plates for 2 guests. After about 15 minutes...we asked and they weren't even aware our 2 teriyaki salmon dinners were missing. So they had to prepare them . What a joke. Everyone was done when we got our food a half an hour later. No excuse for a thin piece of salmon on a plate of lettuce and potatoes....am posting this because they messed up last time too. Nobody ever sincerely apologizes for ruining our family dinners. Overpriced and terrible service!
Delicious fresh sushi, fantastic service. The private rooms are great, I recommend trying the rooms out for yourself. A unique and absolutely divine dining experience!
Amazing everytime we go , excellent Sushi ! atmosphere and service are always perfect.
Great, affordable meals and wonderful ambiance. O-sho is one of the go-tos for downtown business folks for a lunch that is delicious and gets you back to work on time.
The food was amazing, the staff was super friendly, and it had an awesome atmosphere.
My wife, kids and inlaws insist on this being our go too restraunt for birthdays and special occasions. I can't argue with them cuz it's amazing!!
Had a server who wasn't shy to let us know she didn't appreciate our business. Food was decent but the atmosphere sucked.
Service
Called in prior to our visit to confirm that they could do gluten free sushi - confirmed that both the soy sauce and rice vinegar in the rice was gluten free. When I went in person was told there was a 50/50 chance that the rice vinegar was gluten free. This is unacceptable. Either it is or it isn't. If you can't accommodate gluten free that's fine but at least be honest about it. 3 stars because my husband enjoyed his meal.
