Excellent experience. The food: smelled and tasted as fresh as anyone can expect a traditional Italian Trattoria to be. Plates: beautifully mounted and fair portion size for the price. Atmosphere: charming and intimate. Staff: extremely friendly and efficient. My glass of water was replenished frequently. I really loved that they serve a fair quantity of artisanal bread aside and not just some industrial piccolo bread like you see elsewhere. I ordered the lamb shank with risotto and the cooking was on point. My friend and I both left full and satisfied. Definitely going back. You will not be disappointed.

The waiter recommended that he will makes plate with mix of appetizers, which will have octopus, oysters mushrooms, portobello, cheese and tomatoes. The plate had no oyster or portobello mushrooms, it had the regular mushroom and the octopus stomach( which was gross). When I asked the waiters where was the mushroom and why are you serving the octopus stomach, he replied it has been like that since 9 years and how it’s delicious. I never seen a restaurant that serves octopus stomach in my life. I have the picture, I wish I could post it here, so that peoples are aware of being cheated. Therefore, I didn’t order anything else, and took the bill and left as a gentleman. But I feelt like I was cheated. The picture on their website are different than, what they served me, and I know food. Don’t get fooled with their good talks.

Utterly fantastic restaurant. Cosy and personal with beautiful attention to detail throughout the entire night. I know amongst Google reviews 5 stars are common for 'good' but this is a genuine top rating. Staff were courteous and polite from the very beginning till the moment we left. Prompt yet not rushed and knowledgable not only about the details of the dish but also recommendations as to the choices, portion sizes and order. Everything was tidy, plates were warm and menus were specific with a nice addition of a robust menu of the day announced by the waiter. Food was great from the beginning with an appetiser arriving to our suprise before the entree alongside slices of bread which in itself was notable. Entrees, main course and desert all share the same praise. They were well thought out and cooked with a superb amount of flavour yet not soaked in oil and grease. Definitely reminiscent of my adoptive parents home cooking and a welcome nostalgia trip back to their Sicilian cooking. The figs and calamari; and snails were a great introduction as to what was to come and I have to say they left us speechless when we took a bite of one of the calamari with the nestled within. To move on the pasta was tender yet springy and it left us more than speechless as my fiancee and I made unintelligible sounds at how good each of our dishes were. Sauce was rich yet not overpowering with plenty of different tastes coming through. The cheese was sprinkled by hand by the waiter and added just that little bit of character to an already astounding dish. I think this review is plenty long enough but I do want to say the pasta was astounding and sealed the deal that we'd be coming back. Honestly the place is full of charm, nostalgia and cosiness with professionals who are polite, courteous and I highly recommend anyone looking at this review to do me the honour of taking my word for it because you will not be disappointed. Well solidified as soon to be my favourite restaurant and well worth the money and experience. My only disappointment is having gotten ahead of myself and not taken any photos before demolishing the dishes in excitement.

I was looking for a nice cozy byow Italian resturant to celebrate my birthday when I came across trattoria bellamore on google.spoke with Daniel on the phone just off the bat I knew I was going to be in good hands .. He fixed us up with a bunch of different sharing entrees so we get to taste abit of everything which was very delcious .. burata , octopus , speck, gnocchi , sausage and peppers , calmaries and shrimps and for the main dish I had the rack of lamb while the others took different mains..first time there and It felt like I was a regular client.. you really do feel like home.. will defiantly reccomend and be back! Thanks again to Daniel and staff for taking care of us ☺️.

For a first experience, I was quite pleased for many reasons: Food was very good and the portions were quite generous. The price was reasonable considering it is a bring your own wine restaurant. You can get anything à la carte or you could choose from their table d’hôte menu. The menu is actually on their website with the prices if you want to anticipate what you’d like to eat. They do offer many complementary things to your table, which is quite a nice surprise once you receive it. At first we weren’t sure if it was a mistake, so we asked to be certainwe didn’t get an order that wasn’t ours! A very nice touch from the owners, meaning they take to heart the satisfaction of their customers. Once we got assigned to our table, we had the chance to be very nicely greeted by (I believe) one of the owners of the restaurant.(The restaurant is a family business, son and father). They ask you right away if you’ve brought wine so they can immediately bring an ice bucket to your table or put it in the fridge if you have many wine bottles. (White & rosé bottles of course!) However, there is only one thing that could be improved (nothing too major though): We called in to say we were going to be late for our reservation, but the other person on the line only answered and greeted us by saying: ”hello”. It was only a bit disorienting at first, since we weren’t too sure if we were calling the right place. Again, not a big deal, it is probably just a force of habit of ours to be greeted by the name of the company/restaurant when we call. Otherwise, the person on the line said there was no problem at all. Overall, it was a pleasant experience and I will definitely come back and recommend this place to all my friends who enjoy Italian cuisine. A good find in Laval and totally worth a shot as it is minutes away from highway 13. Very accessible for people who come from Montreal! If you are reading this and are still debating whether you should give it a shot or not... I say: definitely do! Many so-called Italian restaurants aren’t all that good... especially in Laval, so the relief of knowing there actually is one is fantastic! My only regret is to not have known about this place since it’s been open for about 8 years! Don’t forget to bring your own wine and enjoy the experience! My son and I went to this restaurant for the first time to celebrate my birthday. My seafood linguine was simply spectacular; so delicious and flavorful. The best that I have ever had; with a serious portion of seafood My son who is vegan, enjoyed his rizzuto with porcini mushrooms. Our waiter Daniel was the best...he was attentive, friendly and very personable; as well as the busboy and other staff. My only criticism of my dining experience was the one hour wait for our meal. Even though we were warned of the wait by Daniel in advance, we didn't think it would be an hour. Despite this , I still had a wonderful experience and loved my meal and salad entree that I ordered. I am definitely going back and appreciate the recommendation that I got from my brother to go there. I would like to thank the chef for one of the best meals and dining experiences that I have ever had. You made my birthday very special. The ambiance and service was on point...I will definitely recommend this restaurant to friends and family. Molto Grazie!

I go to this restaurant regularly and I am always more than satisfied with the food and the service. I own a very big cellar so “bring your own wine” is always convenient. I tend to bring higher end wines (Brunellos, Amarones and Tignanellos) and they always pair them perfectly with my meal. A must if you are into fine Italian cuisine and make sure to bring a quality bottle because it’s worth it.

It was okay, food tasted good, nice portions, but sauce was too heavy to our liking. I was pretty dissappointed with the service, it was mediocre. Took a while for menus, and water refill. Nice restaurant with classic Italian menu, nothing too fancy but well done. The service is impeccable, and the food is nice. I had a quite good Vitello Tonnato and a risotto (see pictures). I would have liked my risotto more al dente. I also tasted the Linguine frutti di mare which was to my opinion the best meal on the table. I think it is a bit expensive for what you get but don’t forget this is a BYOW. The overall experience was quite good.
