The best tonkatsu I have ever had
Taste good and fresh!
Fantastic Cheese Katsu...you guys awesome!!
Food and service ok, but I like Katsu San in Richmond.
An excellent meal as always and reasonably priced as well.
Meal type
This place offer excellent food with fair price. A little hidden gem in Langley.
One of the better places when you are craving for Katsu and soba
Great quality of pork loin, crisp outside, soft tender inside, good portion !!
Good pork nice soba is ok
Oh my. So good. Second time here and it's better than the first. If you're looking for a good, affordable meal, do yourself a favour and order the cheese Cutlet!
I’ve had better katsu cutlet at other places BUT I would still recommend this place if you haven’t tried before. They have different variations of katsu cutlet, for example their nabe options. The kimchi one is the best one in my opinion if you can handle a bit of spicy.
The service is really friendly and the food is delicious! Had the cheese katsu, it was filled with mozzarella cheese and just oozing out of the katsu. Recommend if you really love cheese lol
This place is much more worth it compared to other tonkatsu places such as SAKU and Mr. Tonkatsu. They were open to making modifications to our order and the food came out fresh. Proportions were solid and overall experience was A+
Take out
Our server was super friendly, and this was definitely the best katsu I have ever had. I had the chicken katsu and my husband got the ebi katsu hot pot. Both were fresh, delicious and tasted like they were made by someone who cares about the food they create. Highly recommend, cute gem of a place!
Soo delicious! I had the ebi katsu and it was amazing. The katsu was well fried and the cabbage with the dressing was really refreshing and yummy. It came with a side soup of udon broth and it was way more flavorful than udon I get at japanese restaurants. We also got the katsu loin/udon set and the assorted katsu set and they were also amazing. The katsu sauce is so good. Next time I come here I'll probably get the assorted set. HIGHLY recommend!!
Authentic Japanese comfort food! This place was recommended by a Japanese client of mine and boy am I glad that I took the recommendation! Each cutlet is tender and juicy with the perfect amount of breading on each piece. It is not oily at all. It reminded me of the excellent Miso Katsu in Japan for sure! The service is also friendly and polite. If you want Authentic Japanese Comfort Food come here.
Pretty good, the assorted Katsu is very good with fish, chicken and pork. I would not suggest the cheese katsu because it is mostly just cheese with a small portion of pork meat. It is easily get tired of just cheese.
Great food, staff, and atmosphere! We very enjoyed our lunches here!
Good Japanese restaurant. Good portions and nice service. I had a Udon Combo meal. Thumbs up.
Dine in
Amazing taste and excellent price!
Delicious, authentic Katsu with different meats (eg pork, chicken, fish) and styles of Katsu. Definitely recommend a stop and will be coming back for more. Unlimited picked radish and salad!
We have been wanting to try this place for a couple months now and I’m so glad we finally got around to it! I’m just sad we didn’t try it any sooner. Amazing katsu! Their menu is fairly simple which allows them to really hone in on making great katsu which they’ve most definitely succeeded at! I got the assorted katsu (fish, chicken, hire & prawn) and my husband got the hire katsu (pork tenderloin). We were a touch worried about getting take out for fear of sogginess but those fears were unfounded! Both of our meals were nice and crispy, moist and so flavorful. I truly enjoyed all of the katsu in my assorted katsu. The cabbage salad and sauces were amazing and the perfect compliment to the meal. My husband got interrupted and didn’t eat his meal until about 45 minutes later and it was still nice and crunchy. Can’t wait to do dine in here once that is available! In the meantime we’d be more than happy to get takeout from here again.
I had a Rosu Katsu set, and it was so good!! Pork cutlet was so crunchy and juicy, I would really like to recommend it.
My wife ane little boy spent really good time here! My boy is only 20 months. He is loud and easy make noise. However, the staffs were friendly that does not make my feel bad or embrass. The food quailty is high! We had their cheese katsu and kimchi nabe(i dont know this spelling is right or not) and it is tasty! I am cheese lover so cheese katsu make me to become a fan of it, and kimchi one is little spicy so it removed my greasy away. These two menu is really good combi (I think they have to make a combo with that!) On sunday, the street parking is allowed, however the other day (monday-saturday) you may need to find somewhere else to park if you want to dine in. Highly recommned, this is a place you must go.
A few perfect ranned restaurants It tastes perfect, good service, and even to go.
Miso ramen, taste good but little bit salty.
Good service. Good price. Good portions. Good taste. Good value.
If you read this review, please do not visit this restaurant when they are busy. When a server served the food, she spilled the hot soup on my gf's right hand. She said I am sorry and left the table. At first I thought she's going to grab a napkin to wipe but didn't come back or ask if my gf is okay. So I called another server and complained about the attitude. However, the server said "I think it is because we are busy. I am sorry" to us. Until we left, they never asked "Are you okay" to my g-friend although they spilled the hot soup. Therefore, please do not visit when they are busy. If you do, you will get the worst service in your life.
The best katsu I've ever had! Absolutely flawless, and have nothing to complain about.
Delicious katsu that set themselves apart from other ordinary ones you can spot in Japanese restaurants. Fried to perfection, not overly crunchy or greasy, to go along with yummy sauces. Staff is friendly and price is reasonable. Highly recommend!
The food was well-executed and fresh, service was fantastic with the staff going out of their way to help us, and the ambiance was also quite nice, with a definite k-pop vibe. Katsu notably specializes in pork cutlets, and every menu item is a variation on breaded pork or shrimp... But they've paid attention to the execution and we found the pork to be tender with fluffy breading, and the nappa and daikon side dishes were fresh and refreshing. Nice work! We will be back.
Service
LOVE THE FOOD THERE!!! You just gotta try once and you will see. The cutlets are all fresh and excellent. I live by Coquitlam Centre but I'm willing to travel all the way to Langley, just to have a bite of the food!
If you have expriance taste the Schnizal, you have to try this food. You will see the another world food. I am recomd to you strongly.
Wonderful service and fantastic food. I can literally find no fault in their dishes. It's exactly like a lot of the food I had in Japan which was very nostalgic.
Great place with fresh foods at a reasonable price. I had the hire Katsu (pork tenderloin) and it was fantastic!!
Meal type
If you like anything fried, try this place when you’re jn town. This place satisfied my craving for some good katsu. They are Korean owned, so you will find some Korean menu - ie kimchi cheese katsu nabe (so gooooood i almost wanted a second bowl of rice). They are true to their flavours; nothing fancy, but good ingredients cooked with care. Their chicken katsu was very tender. I usually ask for more cabbage salad when I go to other katsu places, but the initial portion here was enough for me. I can imagine this is a popular place for week day lunch.
Came here for the first time, EXCELLENT and amazing food. The katsu is crispy and juicy and the salad dressing is so good. Tried 5 different dishes and all were so tasty!! Amazing service and felt very safe dining with dividers between tables and checking covid passport. Highly recommend! Such a gem!!
It was okay. I don't think it's worth to try if you are in Vancouver or so. ????
Best katsu we have EVER had. Coating is very light but SUPER crisp, and the meat is extremely tender!!! ???????? Best dishes are the original katsu dishes (#1 or 2 on menu) - HIGHLY RECOMMENDED!!! Other dishes were mediocre - fish katsu weren't as crispy and udon not as flavourful as I'd like it to be. We enjoyed the original katsu a lot more than the cheese katsu. I love how much coleslaw the dishes come with, and the soup is also very good!
Expertly deep fried Katsu. So good.
This is my new favourite! Amazing
One of the best fish and pork cutlet I have tried in Vancouver. The fish and pork are lightly breaded and not battered. When they came out, the hot juice was gushing out. The portion is quite generous and it's very good value for $13.50. I have only tried the hire and fish, and will definite go back to try the cheese one. BTW, they are Korean, not Japanese as many would thought.
Very high quality and delicious food here, and comes in a generous serving size. This is the only specialty Katsu place in Langley and I'm glad we have one now! Decor could use an upgrade, but everything else was great.
Dinner
Great food quality and friendly service. Definitely recommend if you are craving for something delicious in Langley ;)
The Cheese Katsu is soo yummy. We will definitely be back
I had 2 hire and 2 cheese. Liked cheese katsu. Good mount of cheese portion. Hire katsu was very soft. But i felt a bit thinner. They put enough portion of hire katsu tho.
I am super impressed! Their Katsu is really crunchy and I could not taste that unpleasant pork smell I encountered many times. The meat tastes fresh. (I recommend the Hire Katsu if you don't want it too greasy). The only miss was the price. It seems a little too high for a quantity. But definitely quality over quantity. Also, the server was very friendly. I would come to visit here again.
Best deal on menu is Assorted Katsu. For $15, you get rice, soup, salad and ebi, pork, and fish Katsu. I only wish that it came with more rice than the small portion you get. Overall, satisfying meal..
Best katsu place in Greater Vancouver. Way better than the fancy places in downtown. You won't regret your drive to Langley
Couldn't decide which to get, so we got the assorted katsu (fish, chicken, pork, shrimp). They were all so good, but our favourite was the pork katsu for sure! Don't know how they do it, but the pork was so soft and tender, and the batter is just the right thickness and crunchy with great flavour! Will definitely be coming back for more! Service was great and waitress was very attentive!
Good katsu and very tasty soba. Katsu still moist pretty good technique. Highly recommend
Great soup. Great katsu. Great meal. Great price. Overall 9/10
Highly recommended! Go there whenever we head to Langley, meats are tender and the panko bread crumbs coat is perfect. Better than what you get from Saboten.
Delicious crispy katsu, and excellent sides. So far we have only tried the pork and chicken katsu but both were very tasty. The soup is a great appetizer, and the salad has a super delicious creamy sesame dressing. Will have to go back to try some of the other menu items as I’m sure they will be just as delicious as the katsu.
Me and the wife were so glad we found this spot. The food is so delicious and was made fresh. Best Katsu I've had in a very long time. Definetely gonna recommend this place to everyone! The servers are super nice as well!! They all deserve a very generous tip.
Possibly one of the most authentic tonkatsu cutlet houses on the West Coast, and I say this as someone who's lived in Japan and has been to a few high end Japanese tonkatsu restaurants. Just had the regular roast tonkatsu (ロースカツ). Nice owners/staff. Plenty of seating with lots of space. Clean washrooms. Nice ambience, though they tend to play Korean music instead of Japanese music ????
Not the best decor and location, but the food is top notch. Crispy cutlet made with care. 5 stars.
First time trying here but it was definitely worth the try!! Very clean interior, lots of food for the price, and a variety of cutlets on the menu. Only downside is that the food is a bit on the saltier end and their menu is quite limited - no appetizers or sides. Other than that, would recommend!
Slow service other than that it's really good.
Great food fast service. And the asian wife loves it.
Very good. Except they limit only 1 can order cheese katsu per table .
The best! Friendly people and delicious Katsu. Very busy and always fresh.
GREAT KATSU! How do you get something so incredibly crispy on the outside and stay so tender on the inside? I had the Assorted Katsu and it was delicious. Fish Katsu was so light and flaky, it was like biting into a crunchy cloud. Definitely will be back. Definitely will tell all my friends. Even the salad was tasty. Give them a try. You won't be disappointed.
Really like the quality of katsu here. I especially like their kimchi cheese katsu nabe.
Their katsu knocked it out of the park. Had the assorted cutlet, and each one was more delicious than the last. Excellent!
Loved it the first time I ate here. You definitely need to try this place!
Best Japanese restaurant in langley! Katsu is affordable deliscous and we'll portioned.
Amazing food, huge portions for a great price. Neither of us could finish all our food. We will be making a trip to Langely just to come here!
Great food at reasonable prices. We're coming back!
Ordered the assorted katsu and absolutely loved it! This place also has fair prices compared to other katsu spots. You get rice, a hefty amount of salad, sauces and soup! The breading is light and crispy. I personally loved the fish and shrimp because they were soo tender!
This unassuming restaurant nestled in the old downtown core of Langley could be easily missed if one didn't know to look past the stripmall facade. Inside is crisp black decor. No excessive art or flare. The logo should really should be emplazoned on all walls... it's what drew us to Katsu to begin with. Without much hesitation, Cheese Katsu was ordered. Deep-fried Mozzarella CHEESE wrapped with thin cut PORK LOIN served with house salad, soup and steamed rice! The house salad alone is a treat. Coleslaw with a light peanut satay sauce. Be warned, the cheese drips like trying to escape it's breaded pork vessel. Great service. Cheapest wine in town!
Came here with my friends and had an amazing experience. The katsu is crispy and delicious and the servings are good size as well. We tried a variety of dishes and all of them were delicious!! Amazing service . Highly recommended
Amazing food and the service was great as well! I highly recommend the pizza katsu! Price is great as well!
Reasonable prices and the dishes taste excellent.
The food was unbelievable... By far the best I've tasted.
Great pricing for MORE than generous servings. Cute, intimate sitting and in a great location. The gals inside are really nice and super cool. Go here now!
Clean restaurant and good service. Portion is good too. Not a big fan of the hot plate katsu though...the mustard doesn't go well with it at all. Everything else was decent though.
Food, atmosphere, and service was amazing! Will return and fully recommend to anyone that eats pork.
A little run of the mill Katsu place run by koreans. Their batter is nice, and the cheese katsu wasn't bad - but nothing special. A little out of the way, don't think it warrants another visit.
Assorted Catsu. It was delicious.
Service
Delicious and cheap for its great quality.
Great tasting cutlet place. Very affordable and good portions.
Best food, service, and hygiene ever. Highly recommend this place if you're looking for yummy katsu.
A lovely little space to eat delicious katsu! The salad is crisp and tasty, the rice perfect and the katsu crisp and delicious. We split the Assorted Katsu and Cheese Katsu and all of them were delicious! The only critique I could make is that you aren’t able to order a couple of pieces of cheese katsu as an add on, as I’ve been able to at other katsu restaurants. This is a nice way to get a little without having to commit to a whole dinner of cheese ???? We will be back for sure!
Excellent cutlet house. On par with any on Richmond or Vancouver. We had the hot plate , assorted Katsu and Katsu nabe. The price was great and you get a good amount of food. We will be coming back for sure. It's nice to have some more options in Langley /South Surrey
This is a Korean-style cutlet house that serves a Korean-Japanese fusion menu. Kimchi Cheese Katsu Nabe tasted exactly like kimchi stew + katsu. If it's your first time, I recommend the Assorted Katsu. The portions are also very generous.
Lunch
Great food and excellent service! Definitely coming back!
My favorite place.
Very clean, welcoming restaurant. The food is very good and simple. The chicken and pork Katsu were both very tender, crispy and just straight good. No surprise flavours.
The pork cutlet here is really good. I really enjoy the hire katsu and the kimchi katsu. They have great combos as well! Portions are good. I really enjoy their salad too that comes with the meals.
fried assorted katsu is so cropy and soft at the same time very smooth texture cheese kimchi pork is a bit too spicy for me but I love it
The service and food was really good. I ordered a Rosu Katsu and my my wife ordered Hire Katsu and Miso ramen Both were very tasty. Our servers were very knowledgeable with a pleasant smile. I came with family.
