Here you will be able to see all the opinions of real people who know the products and services of Ban Chok Dee Thai Cuisine-Langley (Restaurant) in Langley area (Canada).
At this moment the business gets a rating of 4.4 stars out of 5 and this rating has been based on 127 reviews.
You may have noticed that its rating is very good, and it's founded on a very large number of reviews, so we can say that the rating is quite accurate. If there are many people who bothered to evaluate when they are satisfied with the service, it works.
As you know, we do not usually bother to place opinions when these are good and we usually do it only if we have had a problem or incidence...
This Restaurant is classified in the category of Thai restaurant.
Would definitely come back. ????????????????
Tasty and quick, efficient service. Love the pad Thai here. Wasn’t the best uber eats experience though (noodles arrived all mushy and soft), so probably best to stick to dining at the restaurant for best experience.
My absolute favorite Thai food place. I love the friendly staff also. We always get the Pad Thai and Chicken Cashew Nut. Great Thai Iced Tea. Lovely decor.
Wow, this was fantastic!
Tasty and authentic Thai cuisine. I came for lunch when they just opened so the restaurant was the busy and service was good. We ordered the lunch portions for pad thai and the papaya salad because we were told that they lunch ones would be smaller than regular ones but they were still very big. I wish everything was smaller than I can have more room to try more dishes
WELL WORTH A RETURN VISIT Nice authentic-looking decor. Ordered a chicken pad thai. Sauce was well-balanced - a little spicy and a little sweet. The texture of noodles was like al dente pasta - not oily. Garnishes include sprouts, shredded carrots and greens. A complimentary veggie soup was served before the main course. Free street parking.
Heard about this award-winning restaurant in Langley from a friend, I’m not too familiar with Thai food but everything here is delicious! The place is a little small and priced a little high, but the delicious food and friendly service makes up for it. Place was busy even for an early weekday dinner so clearly, this place deserves all its awards!
My family really enjoy the food and atmosphere in this place. Service was really good, food come in timely manner. Menu have small text and poor lighting on the booth area. I have to fiddle with my phone to be able to read the menu, since it doesn't have pictures of what you get. Price is a bit high, but for the quality of the food, I give it a pass.
This is by FAR the best thai food in all of BC, we try to go here as much as possible. taste just like in Thailand. Staff is friendly and amazing. Also the prices is more than fare. Recommend this place to all my friends
The food was amaizing. We will definitely be back. I will recommend it to everyone.
Always good, very consistent, lunch special is a good buy. Thai isn't my favorite but when I want it this is the only place this side of the bridge I would bother going to. Have not had a bad dish here. Service is hit and miss or it would be 5 stars.
This place is amazing! Food is delicious and the staff are super attentive. There is good spaces between tables and plexi glass so you're not to close to anyone I would highly recommend eating here!
Great food, service, and interior set-up. We really enjoyed our evening here. I recommend making reservations as it is usually quite full of customers, it's popular for good reason!
This new restaurant is magnitudes better than the Asian cuisine restaurant previously in this location. The interior is completely changed into a stylish and fashionable place. Our servers were also very well presented as well as pleasant given we were arriving late in the evening. The menu was very interesting with lots of choices. My dish was very well presented in a long, narrow dish that reminded me of a boat. I'm sorry I didn't think to take a photograph. We ate a lot and drank a lot and the four of us all concluded we looked forward to coming again. We got a wave from our servers and the other staff who were finally able to sit down and have their dinner.
Honestly the best Thai food in BC. Nobody can compete with Fantas recipes.
An absolute gem of a restaurant. The food here is consistently well done and absolutely delicious. The prices are fair and their lunch menu is an incredible value. I have tried multiple menu items and have never been disappointed. For Thai food in the Langley area this is the spot.
Food was so fresh and authentic! Will definitely be back.
Ban Chok Dee is one of our favourite restaurants in Langley. The food quality is amongst the best of Thai Restaurants in the lower mainland and after introducing of family and friends...we all love going and trying different dishes. The Hau Mok Salmon, Pad Thai and Red Snapper are amazing! Our family (and children) highly recommend it!
The Best Authentic Thai Dishes in the Lower Mainland. Every dish is fresh and so beautifully presented that it looks like food art! We are lucky to have restaurants like this that uses the finest quality ingredients! You can try and find out for yourselves! Every dish is consistently delicious!
So good! Although it was so busy...everyone waiting loves the food...but was a bit disappointed in the wait time!
Omg! Best green curry I ever had! Every single time, amazing! Love it.
Dinner
Our favorite Thai restaurant in Langley. It can get very busy so book in advance, same for take out. The food is always on point and amazing. The stuffed chicken wings were good. My favorite dish here is the Thai Basil Stir Fry if you want to try something besides the curries, they are also very excellent both red and green curries are excellent. I highly recommend this place.
Such good food and the staff are great. Out of all the food in Langley, this is my go-to. Get take-out! Or dine in. All good.
Great Thai food
Best Thai food in Langley. The Yellow Curry, Power Greens, and Pad Thai are delicious.
IGNORED dietary need. Gave food with allergen in it. Forgot cutlery in to go bag. Went back to get cutlery and corrected food item. They still forgot to put canned drink in the bag. Food was great. We are people whom come to Langley from out of town. Double check your order before leaving what is in the bag and boxes. Left a good tip as well - not impressed. First time writing a "Karen" review. Guess that's one off my pandemic bucket list.
My girlfriend and I had an incredible experience here. Fantastic atmosphere and food. The portion sizes were huge for the price, a great value. The service was also incredible. I would recommend the Pad Thai. We will definitely be going back!
Best Thai in the Lower Mainland. Servings are huge, however, we ended up overpaying by $10 for two dishes. Not sure how it happened but overall the experience was good and the food is phenomenal.
I think this will be the last time we go there. Compare before the foods were go down hill. We went there at lunch time. Maybe because of covid. The restaurant not very busy. We ordered the pineapple cashew fried rice and pad kee mao. They both not good at all. The fried rice way too wet. Thexture more like a stick rice then a fried rice. The whole pineapple fried rice only have one piece of pineapple and it was a big chunk like a meat ball. The pad kee mao, I like the meat and vegetables but not the noodles. Once again the noodles over cooked. It way too soft like eating flour glue in my mouth. And also the worst it had a few pieces egg shells in my food. It totally turn me off. This was not the first time I got egg shells in this restaurant. We definitely won't go back.
Best Thai food on the planet. Always excellent food and service. Sometimes hard to communicate, but when they nail it, they REALLY nail it!
Good Thai food but little expensive!.
This was our first visit and we brought friends along who live locally but hadn't tried it either. We were all very impressed with the service, decor, food and the menu selections. We will definitely be back!
Best Thai food I’ve ever had. Great staff and friendly service. Very authentic.
Really really really good. I’m impressed with the flavors and the spice. Pad thai with shrimp and the Thai fried rice with chicken. The heat was medium which I ordered and the shrimps were medium size cooked to a soft texture. There were no excess sauce, meaning it was not soupy. The rice was cooked and balanced with chicken and vegetables. I got the order to go and I will be back for more. Yum yum
I came here for dine in a few months ago and it was amazing. So my hubby and I ordered takeout yesterday for my birthday. I have to say I was disappointed. We got chicken pad Thai, Prawn pad Thai and papaya salad. The salad was great! Highly recommend. However, there was a noticeable difference in the taste of the two main dishes. The prawn dish was fresh, spicy and full of prawns. The chicken was dry, noodles clumpy, and had just a small amount of tiny pieces of chicken. Im sick, and while eating the chicken pad Thai, I was nervous that I possibly had covid and was losing my sense of taste. But then I tasted his and it was obvious mine was made incorrectly or something. Don't know why there would be such a noticeable difference when it was supposed to be just two different proteins. I'll probably be willing to try this place again because I love Thai food so much. So I'll probably just get prawn pad thai
These guys serve it up quick. They have to. They are always busy feeding people who want a delicious Thai meal.
Loved the green curry dish. Modern decor with easy going atmosphere. Server was friendly and responsive.
Good food and good staff. Quite busy, even later on a Saturday night, which is indeed a comment to how good of an experience it is here. Had the lettuce wrap and spicy cashew chicken and both were very good. Shout to Patrick, he was great too haha.
Totally fine dinning experience. Love the ambience of the place. Certificates and licenses are hanged in the gallery from main door to front of restaurant. Edges of the restaurant have a nice and comfortable compartment seating. Its like train boxes. Infact there is dinning seating in the central area of the restaurant. Servers are pretty sweet spoken and well versed in english. They understand their own cuisine and also helpful in customizing ur order to vegetarian if required. Big serving portion which can be shared by two people especially if you dont have a big appetite. Pad thai with tofu was amazing. Tofu was crispy enough cut into tiny cubes. Yummu flavours of brown sugar with thai spices could be smelled and tasted in equal proportions. Yellow curry again vegetarian with tofu n pineapple chunks turned out to be mind blowing. Very authentic and delicious food. We had to pack the food which was too much for us atleast.
The food here is excellent! Some of the best Thai I've had and the portion sizes are quite large. The atmosphere is also quite nice and I found it fairly quite so conversing with whoever you go with isn't a problem. Only thing I wasn't impressed with was the spice level: I asked for my food as spicy as they made it but alas being white and in the Fraser Valley they still make it tame. I honestly didn't taste and spiciness however, if you ask, they'll bring it chili oil which can ramp up the heat so it's really a non-issue
Best Thai food we have ever had. Amazing flavours and presentation. Great service. Highly recommend.
Used to be regular here for many years. Recent two trips for takeout have dissapointed, provided DM feedback on Instagram which they didn't feel was important enough to respond to. Ban chok dee you have lost my business and as well as that from my family and friends. In these COVID times you customer service is even more important. You obviously don't care !!
Really good food, service, atmosphere, and reasonable prices. It's always a great experience.
Poor customer service. They reuse customers 30 minutes prior to closing
Never had a meal here I wasn’t completely satisfied with! Pad Thai is so addictive and red curry tastes like butter! Love it so much! Only wish they were on skip the dishes or something to order delivery through!
Ordered take out. Have been here very many times and it appears they are slipping. Ordered The Panang Chicken "spicy" with coconut rice like always. Hardly any rice in container, hardly and sauce and the spices were just thrown on top. Called to inform them and was given the excuse that this is always how its done. Very disappointed.
Great staff, incredible food, and they are very accommodating in making vegan adjustments to meals. Seriously so yummy, 10/10!
I’m a regular at your restaurant but yesterday’s pick up was such a disaster. My husband was told the food would be ready for pick up in 30-40mins. I arrived 5 mins early to collect my order and was told rudely to wait. After 5 mins I asked again can you let me know how long it will be and was told to wait and she will check in the back and will let me know. When she returned I was told again it will be 5 mins. I waited over 45 mins before my food was ready and was given excuse after excuse from two different staff about why my order was taking so long. You would think after waiting that long the staff would offer a refund or some sort of credit for the mess up but again I was so disappointed with how they handled the entire situation.
Was caught off guard with this little Thai restaurant in the heart of Langley... Fantastic food, you'd think you were sitting somewhere downtown with the quality of food they serve... Will definitely be going back!
Nice restaurant, good food, friendly staff. Will go back again.
Ban Chok Dee has long been my go to for Thai food. No matter what you order, it's guaranteed to be delicious! My favourites are the pad Thai, drunken noodles, and any of their curries. You definitely won't be leaving here hungry, their portion sizes are very generous.
Took my mom here on a whim for her 50th birthday to try something new. We had heard good things and were very happy with our service and food. The food was brought to our table quickly and hot and everything was very well made. Would definitely recommend! Prices also were very reasonable.
I'm a Thai food fanatic and this is, without any doubt, the best Thai restaurant in Langley, and possibly one of the best I've ever been to in Canada. The food is authentic tasting (I've been to Thailand), the plating is very nice, and the service is great. The food is spicy enough at level 3/4 for me and I love spicy food. Dishes range in price from 14-23 dollars.
Great food
The food is great here! Definitely one of my favorite places to go.
The food is great here and if you have specific diet concerns, like I did, they are amazing! I had to eat vegan and gluten free for 2 years and this was one of the only places we could go out and eat! Free birthday meal when we came on my birthday too! Only negative thing I can say is that one time they messed up my order twice in one visit - once bringing out chicken and the next time with soy sauce (couldn't have soy). They finally got me the right order, but wouldn't stop until I was happy - needless to say they also comped the meal. So many great things to say about Ban Chok Dee though! Just try it!
Great portions, great food, and good service. They've maximized their space, which felt a little cramped with our table of 5, that was really a table for 4 with an extra chair added. Throw that in to the centre area seating space and it was a tight squeeze, and also louder than I was expecting. But on the overall, the experience was enjoyable, and will be returning.
fast service! the outdoor patio was very nice.
Great as always. Most authentic Thai food outside of downtown Vancouver
I'am very upset they want to move the table during my meal.
So happy to find this gem. Great Thai food, cool decor, happy efficient wait staff. Whole experience was enjoyable. Check out the five spice fish (yum) and the serene Buddha glass. Average priced for Thai food, but better than average experience.
Nice atmosphere and quick, friendly service. Better dishes than the many other Thai restaurants in the area, though it's mainly the standard Thai staples. So if you're wanting a great Pad Thai that you're probably expecting to taste a certain way, you won't be disappointed.
This was our third time visiting this place and we went back due to the amazing service and quality of food. Today, however, was less than mediocre. Once sat at a table, we waited a long time just to order and once the food arrived, so did a swarm of fruit flies. I kid you not, we spent most of the time just swatting them away. We mentioned it to a server and she passively brushed it aside saying yeah she's noticed that the last few days as well. The quality of food wasn't there, the chicken batons were very dry, the golden wontons weren't that crispy, although the pineapple fried rice was delicious we got annoyed swatting the flies away and just got the food packed to go. The servers never checked in at any point during the meal, only when we flagged them down- this was a relatively quiet Tuesday evening. Ban Chok Dee has been a great experience in the past but this time wasn't even close to a shadow of what's it has been in the past. To top it off the servers had a very dismissive attitude and after receiving our payment left without saying anything much less a goodbye. We will not be returning any time soon.
Poor customer service. Never ever going there. Need to train there waiters. Waited for water for so long. And water glass was dirty. So don’t recommend to go there to have bad experience.
Good food. Okay service
They have all their covid systems in good order. Food comes quickly and accurately. They have amazing Pad Thai! Nice waiters and waitresses
Great Thai place with lots of vegan options.
Very disappointed with the food we ordered last night ! After spending $75+ yesterday take out, ordered the drunken noodles, thai chicken fried rice, my family and I were disappointed with the quality of the food. It tasted like nothing we ordered the first time we did take out from here. bland taste, lack of flavoring! The quality of the food seems to vary depending on when you order weekdays/ weekends
Amazing. Best Thai in Langley. Prices may be a little high but it is so worth it. Good atmosphere and service. All the food tastes very authentic and full of flavor. They have more gluten free options than I've seen at any restaurant which is huge because I have Celiac's. Highly recommend the curries. 100% worth going to this restaurant if you are craving some really tasty Thai cuisine.
Meal type
Always a great experience dining at Ban Chok Dee
We love Thai and have been coming here for years as our fav local spot. Takeout is great when we're too busy to cook.
They have really stepped up their game. Quality of food is amazing. Lots of flavour. I have heard they use frozen vegetables in their dishes but this was not apparent. The greens were very fresh and the meat was also fresh and great quality. Tender and juicy. Service was pretty good for dine in but they always seem so unfriendly when you pick up. Nonetheless I would highly recommend. Prices are a bit steep but you get what you pay for
I'm not exaggerating when I say this is the best Thai food in the lower mainland! I've brought tons of friends and family here over the past 2 years and they are always blown away with how delicious and authentic the food is. The Panang Curry and Pad Thai Woon Sen are my favorite.
Very good Thai cuisine. Little gem a of a restaurant in Langley. Good portions at a reasonable price.
Good food and service.
The decore inside is very unique and constructed in Thailand style. We did feel a little cramped where we sat but overall it was good as no one was placed near us. The Thom yum Gon soup was excellent and had a nice flavour of sour to it. The pineapple rice was good as well but seemed a bit mushy and one of us caught a very spicy spot that maybe wasn't mixed in(she likes her spice). Pad Thai noodles were ok, was too sweet for our liking. The yellow chicken curry was good but seemed to miss that extra flavour of coconut and curry tang.
I am very impressed with the food , with the service and the restaurant itself… u dont have to travel to thailand to be able to eat the real THAI food , this is the place to be! The owner “ And The staff is very welcoming , very friendly , this is like a second home for me now…. salute to u All !!!
The best Thai food I’ve had in Vancouver. It was absolutely delicious.
This is my go to Thai food fix! Just finished eating mouth watering red curry with pork! Totally in heaven! Please join skip the dishes or one of those delivery services!!!
The Pad Thai here is great! Polite staff and food generally comes out quite quickly. They even have a coupon in the entertainment book!
Good authentic Thai food. Staffs are so nice and helpful. Atmosphere was ok and beautiful decoration
I'm always happy with the food here! Thoroughly enjoy the pad Thai and power greens. The restaurant is always pretty full for dinner - which is a good sign!
Met my 2nd wife here through Tinder way back in 2014. Excellent food and atmosphere. We enjoyed the dancing girls and my cousin Clint danced for us too.. She eventually invited me back to her place even after seeing I drive a killer Creeper van. What a great place for a date! Very Nace!
All of the foods were delicious! Came here twice even though the place is far from my house and were satisfied both times.
Meal type
I really enjoy the food at Ban Chok Dee, and the portion sizes are huge so I recommend you come hungry! The Thai restaurant is a cozy but decently sized dining area with authentic looking decor and a calming atmosphere that is very welcoming. Nice big bathrooms too!
Best Thai food in the Fraser Valley! I had the Pad Thai Woon Sen and the Yellow Curry, highly recommend both. Big servings too I couldn't finish them. Eileen was our server and she was a delight. Tied the whole experience together with great food and great service! 10/10 will be becoming a regular here and having them cater my wedding
Great atmosphere, portion size and service. Perfect place to sit, share food, and chat. Food was delicious and even though it was busy we were never rushed.
It was excellent again last night as always. Made a reservation as it's close to Christmas and we were seated right away on our punctual arival. Good service, good flavours, good value!
Pad Thai was very delicious and very good value for the price! Staff was very friendly and helpful. 10/10 recommend and would come again!
1st time takeout customer but not the last. Food was amazing. Good size portions as well.
Excellent, amazing food. Some of the best Thai food ive ever had outside of Asia. Service was nothing special, but was more or less timely. We only waited 5 or 10 minutes walking in at dinner time on a very full house. Would be a 5 star rating except for the heat. The temperature in the dining room was absolutely boiling. My girlfriend and i were both pouring sweat within 5 or 10 minutes of entering. Looking around at the other diners i could see them sweating it out as well. It wasn't even a specially hot day... Fix or install woking air conditioning in the building and.u.get 5 stars
Food was excellent but the waitresses are not that friendly. There was one experienced looking who seemed pretty friendly though. Rest had pretty cold expression on their face.
The yellow curry with jasmine coconut rice is amazing. Staff were nice and our food came pretty quickly.
We called to order before 500pm.... and then posted on their Facebook page as instructed our order..... and they took 45 minutes to get back to us, took payment for our order and finished by telling us it would be another hour and fifteen minutes for our order!? I don’t know what business thinks two hours is an acceptable amount of time to ride take out, but ignoring your customer for 45 minutes and then telling them their order would be over an hour is unacceptable. Poor service.
Ate here for the first time last night and would definitely return! I had the cashew chicken and it was delicious! The service was fast and friendly.
Fantastic food! We like Thai food and highly recommend this restaurant. Good location with lots of parking nearby and a public park and community centre across the street.
the fooooooooooooooood is amazing the service is above average. but oh my god the food. i wanna eat my last meal here.
We have ordered here a few times. The food has always been good but a little more money than other places we have tried. Overall great experiences each time.
Excellent Duck in Red Curry. Friendly service. Raised seating on the edges give an almost old train dining car feeling.
The best Thai restaurant in greater Vancouver area. The foods are super delicious. Must try their papaya salad, it’s just so good
Really tasty food. I was very impressed with the freshness and quality!
Amazing experience! The food was so flavourful... the waitress recommended the pad Thai and red curry... it was the best Thai food I’ve ever had. Great atmosphere and wonderful and friendly service. Will definitely be coming back again.
If you're looking for authentic thai cuisine, this is the place to be! Not only is the food tasty, the place has no AC so you also experience the heat of Thailand! LOL. Reservation for a party of 8 was super easy and they were very accommodating. Even though the restaurant was closing in 5 minutes, they didn't rush or kick us out. They were so nice about it, and we only noticed they were closing because there were no guests left, and they were sweeping. Will definitely come back for the food and "cozy" environment.
Super busy! The food is great! They are very popular. Definately recommend
We ordered through Skip the dishes and were told it would be 2 hours. Food arrived on time, but all of the five dishes we ordered were overcooked/soggy. For the price and wait time, we were pretty disappointed. Probably won't order here again.
Fantastic food & great service. Price is reasonable as well. Try their stuffed chicken wings & dry ribs.
I got the Pad Thai for lunch and my girlfriends got different curries. We were all blown away with the flavour and it's honestly one of the best, if not the best Pad Thai I've had! Will definitely be eating here again :)
Great food. A bit too much fish sauce for my liking though. We order here once a week, and seem to have found our favourites in the appetizers. Dine in service is a little lacking for my preference but the food is lovely.
Definitely 5 star. Service is fast and friendly. Decor is great with a lot of attention to details. Food is also excellent. Tasty, fresh ingredients, authentic, extensive options
This is the best authentic Thai restaurant that I have found in Vancouver. My boyfriend and I ordered the five spices fish although it said in the menu that was a basa fish however it came with the white cod fish and it went beyond my expectations. The fish was thick, fresh and tasty. I wish it should be a little bit hot spicy would be perfect. The chicken cashew nut was amazing. The restaurant looks comfy and the staff was friendly and helpful. Highly recommended!
Only been here once... but it was delicious! Very tasty. We had vegan and allergy guests with us... they were very careful with our food and we had zero issues! 5 stars!!!
Rated #1 Thai in Langley for a reason
Excellent food. Need to reserve as always busy. Staff need to learn to be a little more personable.
I'm a sucker for Pad Thai. Great taste and great portion. Will definitely come back.
We were blown away at how good the food here was. The traditional Thai dishes was so good. They have very innovative dishes as well. We enjoyed the stuffed chicken wings! Highly recommended!
Ordered the drunken noodles and dry ribs the drunken noodles were delicious but the star for my meal was the dry ribs the seasoning on them were fantastic would love to be able to get these all the time so good.
Hands down my favourite Thai restaurant. The staff are always wonderful and friendly. Food is phenomenal. Im typically a non spicy person and this restaurant has amazing dishes for my taste buds. Cashew chicken and the pad Thai are the best!
This is basically some of the best Thai food you're going to find outside of Thailand. Make sure you try the Pad Thai, Curries and the Green Papaya salad! Who am I kidding, try it all! I rarely get to go out, but when I do. I go here. Guaranteed yum every time! (Get yourself a few extra after dinner chews too, best you'll find anywhere)
Dine in
The food was excellent but I found the service was lacking. The food was quite spicy as we got the medium spice but very tasty however We sat for quite some time with no drinks after we finished our water. Waitress passed by many times and never asked if we would like more to drink. We never did get more water. Took a long time to wait for the bill and to pay.
Delicious food, friendly service, delightful atmosphere. I appreciate that they cater to GLUTEN FREE!! Yay!
Food is great and the service is friendly. Only complaint is that sometimes the spice level is inconsistent.
Customer service is not the best. Came in at 5pm to order for take out, they told me it was busy so they would get my order ready in 45 min and give me a call. We ordered and waited in the car since it would have been a waste to drive home and back. Waited 55 min before going in to check on my order, they told me it would be ready in 5-7 minutes. I received my order at 6:35pm. They over promised and under delivered on their timing. I think they forgot about my order and rushed to make it but didn’t offer anything to apologize for the long wait. If you plan to order from here, call in advance. Gave it 3 stars because the food was good and service was terrible.
I've been to various different Thai restaurants, and it's really difficult while being a vegetarian as many don't disclose if they use oyster sauce or other meat based items, even while claiming to be Vegetarian. Ban Chok Dee, however, stands above the rest. I always find myself coming back because they're very upfront about what food items are available to me, and what items can easily be accommodated for me. They're service has always been friendly and courteous, and I have yet to find a dish that I dislike. I would highly recommend this to all of my friends (and indeed I have)!
The best Thai around! Friendly staff, great food. Make sure you get your take-out order in early, especially on Friday or weekend nights- they’re quite popular, so there can be a bit of a wait. Totally worth it though!
This place has got to be my new favorite Thai restaurant. The portions are HUGE for the price and the food is absolutely delicious ! Between four adults we shared the following ( also my recommended dishes) CHICKEN SATAY, TOM KHA GAI SOUP, PAD THAI, DRUNKEN NOODLES (PAD KEE MAO), THAI FRIED RICE and we had left overs to share between the four of us the next day and for drinks I'd recommend the Thai ice tea and Shirley Temple (the use mango juice).
I'm not easily imprest but this place has the best Thai food in town by far!
Thoroughly enjoyed my meal here. Ordered some appies and mains and both were extremely tasty and servings were generous. Service was great as well! Too bad it's a bit of a drive, otherwise would be ordering take out here as well.
Take out has good sized portions for a good price. Flavours are great! 4/5 on value
Delicious food. Authentic Thai. Highly recommend.
This is a great place. Its always lined up on the weekends. We were lucky to get in without a reservation. Food was really delicious. Staff were really friendly and professional. Will definitely go back.
Food is great but dine in experience is horrible.
Came here for lunch today with my parents, ordered children satay, BBQ duck lychee curry, pad Thai, pineapple cashew fried rice and fried banana for dessert. Chicken Satay: the chicken was a bit dry, but overall if wasn't bad with the peanut sauce! BBQ Duck Lychee Curry: this was my favourite out of everything we ordered. I thought the bamboo shoots though was a bit much. The flavor is quite unique and the use of lychee in curry was actually pleasantly good. Pad Thai and Pineapple Cashew Fried Rice: These two were on the sweeter side...A bit too sweet. But appreciated that they used fresh pineapple instead of canned ones. Deep fried banana: this was definitely too sweet, would've been more enjoyable if there was no whip cream and chocolate drizzle.
Food is ok.
My favourite Thai food in town! It's a tie for favourite dish. Either Pineapple Cashew Fried Rice or Pad Thai.
Service
Had an amazingly tasty Thai meal at Ban Chock. Full of flavor ranging from sweet to sour to spicy. What a treat! And not badly priced at all. Impressive quantities, at least with what we ordered. Definitely recommend the Green Thai Curry, though mild still gives you a good kick. Would also highly recommend the Pineapple Cashew Fried Rice, loved the crunch of the cashews combined with the sweetness of the pineapple. Actually went really well with the curry as they contrasted each other quite nicely. Hope you enjoy as much as I did! P.S. As a kid, I used to get this meal that was called Ants in a Tree because of the ground beef in the lettuce. What a great name for a dish. The Seasoned Lettuce Wraps, though not quite the same as I had growing up, brought back a lot of memories. This dish was a little salty but still delicious! They say the way food tastes is closely connected to psychology. Certainly experienced that tonight.
This place had amazing food and huge portions. I lived in Thailand and can say this food is authentic. Very delicious. And I love that they can make many of their dishes VEGAN. One of my favourites!!!
Excellent fast service and friendly waiters! Chicken and beef in several dishes was dry. However still tasty sauces with both. Pork and shrimp were done to perfection and extremely tasty! Extremely good pad Thai here! Get it with shrimp!
Very legit Thai food with generous portions, nice ambience.
The best place for Thai food bar none. Lettuce wraps are outstanding but then again, every dish I've ever had from there has been really good. Service is good too.
We ordered takeout and everything was delicious. We ordered everything mild because we didn't know how spicy it would be, but next time we would probably order a medium. The spring rolls were very flavourful and crispy even though we got them to go. Pad Thai had nice large prawns. We also got the pad see ew with beef and that was probably our favourite dish. The chicken green curry was also very delicious. Will definitely order from them again.
Amazing food! My family and I were so impressed with the flavours of everything everything we ordered! We got everything spicy and the heat was there which was wonderful. You will not be disappointed here :)
pretty good authentic thai food...
Hands freaking down the best thai food in the lower main land. Such a treat everytime. I recommend their green curry, its superb!
Great spot, I'm in love with their pad Thai.
yellow currey come with free hair. thanks
Beautiful food and interior. Had no idea this gem was here; 100% will be going again. Soo tasty, and the food is presented so nicely. Made me miss Thailand
Nice food!!But The waitress needs to study more about being kindness. Don't yell at the guests
Food was very good. Worst beverage prices and servers not upfront about it. Was just charged $4 for 355ml coke can and $3 for tea which is complementary at most places. Ruined a good experience.
What started as quick seating and pleasant ambience quickly turned into an hour of hell. The piercing phone ringing through the entire restaurant, a constant stream of people entering for confused takeout orders, and then being ignored by the waitress when requesting that the phone be silenced was too much to bear. The food was presented well, although lacked the promised spiciness, and after an hour of being essentially locked in an office cubicle I couldn't really enjoy the experience. Would not recommend.
So we don’t find ourselves out in Langley very often. But after doing some flower shopping at a couple of nurseries in the area, we wound up at Ban Chok Dee Thai Cuisine in mid-June. This restaurant is a bit dark inside and is split up into different little nooks so it has that cozy vibe going on. We started with a Red Lotus Smoothie ($5) made with fresh berries and a Lychee Bubble Tea ($4). After our hot day in the sun, we pleasantly cooled down with these refreshing drinks. We always have trouble deciding what to order because we like variety so we happily ordered the Chok Dee Platter ($20) which included crispy spring rolls filled with sautéed vermicelli noodles, carrots, cabbage and black pepper, golden wontons deep-fried with a minced pork filling seasoned with garlic, cilantro, and ground pepper, and chicken and pork satay skewers marinated in traditional Thai spices and then broiled and served with peanut sauce. For our mains, we added the Pad Thai ($15) with prawns, egg, tofu, green onions, bean sprouts, and ground peanuts. I like that they make this with tamarind sauce instead of ketchup and the prawns were nice and plump with a snap to the bite. We also ordered the Green Curry Chicken ($16) which turned out very good. The tender eggplant was swimming in a green curry sauce made with rich coconut milk and accompanied by bell peppers and sweet basil leaves. Overall, this was a strong Thai restaurant. All of the food came out piping hot and the flavours were on point.
We had some quarantine take out tonight. Very impressed!! It was our first time trying this place and we’ll definitely be back. The Drunken Noodles were excellent!!
I've eaten at Ban Chok Dee quite a few times. When sitting down and eating in the restaurant, the food is always excellent. Love the Chicken Cashew Nut dish. However, we've ordered takeout a few times and had our order slightly messed up. That aside, would absolutely recommend Ban Chok Dee for Thai cuisine in Langley!
This is the worst places I've ever been to when it comes to customer service, they are so rude, don't answer any questions you have. I asked a question and the lady told me to go away. WORST CUSTOMER SERVICE EVER. I asked the the lady how long my order is going to take and she got upset and told me dont come back here and she is going to charge me double. They don't understand the concept of customer services. I felt humiliated for asking questions. There was a long line of customers waiting to pick up there food to go. One person was there for 2.5 hrs and waiting for a delivery order.
Excelent location in Langley. The foods are great. I have recommended this restaurant
Thai food is very tasty.
We've gone a few times and like the food, the flavor, service and the experience of eating out. Had the stuffed chicken wings tonight which are interesting but needed a touch more seasoning. The Pad Thai and Drunken Noodles were really good. Definitely will be back.
Good food and decent service.....
The best Thai food I've ever had. It's a bit pricey, but it's worth it. Reservations recommended - it's a busy and popular place with locals, and for good reason. Actually, just stop reading this and get in your car and go there right now. It's that good.
You know that place you’ve eaten Thai food in the past that you just can’t replicate the taste? Delicious, fresh, spicy, and utterly mouth watering? This is that place ???? One of a kind!
Food is really good
Flavours were clean and delicious. Really decent value.
Excellent authentic Thai. Fresh ingredients and fast service. Careful ordering it xtra spicy as it will be ???????????????????? !
Pad thai is the best dish there.
This was my first time here. The interior is nice the service was great and the food was amazing. It's no wonder they win so many awards definitely coming back again.
Good service: polite, food arrived quickly and was so good!!!
Authentic Thai food. Love their green curry and pad Thai. Be prepared to wait if you are going on a weekend for dinner... But worth it!
First time to this restaurant after we spent 2 hours in the cross Douglas Park. We were hungry. We order Tom Yum Goong soup. Papaya salad. Fried spring roll, seafood stired rice. Fried rice. Food were quickly to our table and big size exceeded our expected. I love the papaya salad and soup. Kids loved spring roll and stired rice and noodle. Environment are unique and Thai style, very clean and good service (especially I found one hair in the salad, they no doubt to change new one to me) Worth. I took my friend and kids come here again on November 13 2021, dinner time, so crowded in side, all tables were occupied. The dishes were delicious as usual. Speed of delivery dish is fast. Waitress were professional, always come to check whether need any things or how about taste of food. I will continue to recommend friends or family gathering here.
Had to wait a long time for preordered food..but it was worth the wait.Thank you.
Enjoyed my first time visit Had the Tom Yum goong to start. Great flavors and taste Also had spicy thai dish with rice and peas forget the name. It was loaded with flavors and spice. I will visit again
Good Thai food and great service.
Great portion and great value! Worth a try ????
I had the chicken pineapple fried rice tonight ..... too much rice, not enough vegetables..... very little chicken, and where was the pineapple and cashews?? Very disappointing , and our waitress was not at all friendly
Found out u can go on line in Facebook and message them they will get back too you and contact u too get a too go order .... But after 45 minutes no contact so I went there in person and they wanted me too stand in line with people that wanted too get a table and eat inside and I wanted a take home order so i wasn't waiting another 45 minutes again after 45 minutes waiting on Facebook for a response I wasn't waiting another hour for a meal... Worst service I ever seen. I won't be goin there for any too go order or too eat in at all period.
Picked up some Pad Thai and Drunken noodles for Friday night, food is average, service was terrible. First they asked me if they can call back to take my order, I didn’t want to order through the likes of Doordash, so they get to keep their profit. I didn’t know that is an inconvenience for them. When I arrived to pickup the food, I noticed people are coming out of the entrance only door, after talking to the staff, it’s because they haven’t changed the signs. May be I am too extreme on the COVID rules, but that was confusing.
Ordered the spicy calamari and Red Thai Currey with chicken, both dishes were delicious I would highly recommend going there the staff is very friendly.
The food was amazing but the service was lack lustre and it took forever to get our order. The restaurant was very busy and servers seemed over run but it may have just been because we went on a holiday. Overall the food made up for the servers and if they improved I would definitely give it 5 stars.
Friendly staff, great food try the red snapper. Recommended
Most authentic Thai cuisine in Langley Great ambience and service Must order Calamari , Chok De Chow Mein,Thai fried rice and the crowd favorite Green curry Must visit !
The best Thai food around. I won;'t get Thai food anywhere else!! The fact that they accommodate Vegans is fantastic.
Very Consistent good, fresh and tastey food. This has become a staple in our house at least once a month. Green curry with coconut rice and the thick noodles with tofu give me cravings. Good staff, management, and obviously high fives to the kitchen crew. Be warned, order early, it gets busy.
This is a unique place for a unique experience if you like Thai food.
Dinner
The inside looked dark and somber. Food was good. Work friends and I tried 4 items from the regular menu at dinner time. They have decent portion. A friend was celebrating her birthday and she got an ice cream for free.
This is very good Thai food. I have been ere countless times and I will always go back! Service is friendly and excellent!
The menu is vast and creative. Many options for those with dietary concerns. Let me just say that true Thai cuisine has many levels of flavour. Too much chili spice can overpower the subtle sweetness and savory flavours of many dishes because it's expected to be spicy. Although a lot of us that aren't from Thailand just go for that spice (including myself), the flavour spectrum still needs to be in the food for all to enjoy. Imagine if there was no chili spice in the Thai dish you ordered - would you call it bland? This is where Ban Chok Dee sets itself apart. We drove approximately 20kms to try, and we are already talking about what we'll order next visit - which will be very soon... It's wise to make a reservation. There are usually larger parties on weekends, and tables tend to be more limited. Weekdays have their busy times as well in the evenings as this place grows in popularity. If I could take one of the points off the last star (such a fickle matter) is that we were seated against the wall; my left side. I'm left-handed if it matters, but the decoration on the wall was protruding out over my left shoulder and kind of in my personal space.
Excellent food, good portion size
Great Thai with a diverse menu. They have their own spin on things that my wife and I love. We come twice a year. Service friendly and speed of food coming is reasonable. Drinks are nice. Curries are very flavorful. Nice selection of appetizers. Street parking can be busy but is across street from park. They can be busy Friday and Saturday so reservations may not be a bad idea.
Had an amazing experience! Last minute decided to try them out and was really blown out of the wall. Definitely recommend the pad Thai and yellow curry! Recommend go hot! Awesome service for Langley :)
Great place for lunch or dinner! Never had a bad meal here. Always excellent quality! I had chicken cashew....incredible! Loved it!????
Great food, good service, highly recommended.
Lovely authentic Thai food with great ambiance. The service was also fantastic, we’ll definitely be back.
Food was delicious and servings were generous. Lost a star because of the service...not very friendly and service felt very rushed. They kept trying to clear dishes from the table before we were done with them.
We came here to celebrate my birthday; a forty five minute drive from Vancouver and the food did not disappoint, but the service did a bit. We arrived 30 minutes before their last call. We ordered an appetizer, a soup, a salad, an entree and a dessert. The appetizer was the Chok Dee Platter which consisted of Spring Rolls, Golden Wontons, Chicken and Pork Satay. The platter best thing was the Pork Satay. The soup was the Tom Yum Goong Soup which is a hot and sour prawn lemongrass soup with mushrooms, tomato, cilantro, galangal, kaffir-lime leaves. We really like the flavour and we could really taste each ingredient individually. We thought the soup was a tad salty. The salad was the Crying Tiger which consisted of BBQ steak, sliced in Thai spicy sauce with a mix of fresh lime juice, tomato, onion, mint, cilantro, cucumber, celery and mixed greens. We were pleasantly surprised that a salad could have so much punch. The steak was really tender and blended very well with the citrusy juice. It reminded me of Beef carpaccio from Guu Garlic. The entree was the Five Spices Fish, which consisted of a Deep fried golden brown seasoned basa fillet, topped with five spices sauce made from bell peppers, garlic, tamarind juice, palm sugar, basil leaves, ginger and chives. At first the we thought the fish looked like fish an chips. We did like the tangy sweet tamarind flavour and combined well with the fish and the steamed rice. For dessert, we had the Khao Neaw Ma-Muang which was Sweet sticky rice in coconut milk served with slices of fresh sweet mango. It was decadent; I love sweet glutinous rice. It combined well with the coconut milk and the mango. Now the service, although we came 30 minutes before their last call and the personnel tried to cater to our needs, the service seemed a bit hurried as they tried to close the shop as soon as possible. Four (4) stars for food and and two (2) for service. For such an award winning restaurant like this one. They should polish the service staff a bit more. The tips that I always leave are based always on service staff performance not on food.
Authentic Thai food! One of the best in Langley for sure!
Amazing flavors, delicious ????????
If you want to eat dinner here, order around noon. By 6pm, it should come out. SLOOOOOOOOOOOOW service. And slightly rude. Food is just ok. I love Thai food, but nothing we ordered made me want to come back. I would have given 1 star, but the Thai iced tea was good.
We had take out last night ( we have many times in the last 3 years) and I must say it was NOT up to par at all, we ordered medium spiced and had to add sriracha as it was so bland. We ordered chicken lettuce wraps and chow mien chicken and chicken basil stir fry it was quite different than usual, not sure if they have changed their chef or not. So we were not that happy with our $55.00 meal
Food is a little pricier compared to other Thai places but really good flavours. The spring rolls were really delicious and the Pad Thai was good: not too saucy and no weird orange sauce haha. Definitely would recommend!!
I was pleasantly surprised at how diverse the menu was and how good these authentic dishes tasted. With a group, we all had different dished generally we all agreed the food was at a five star level. The restaurant is somewhat small and could use upgrading so the ambiance, time to wait to be seated, and service lacked slightly. Summary, a little pricey but do not miss this place, as the food will not disappoint. Solid 4 star.
Average food quality. Complimentary soup too mild and dilute.
Me and my boyfriend used to eat here all the time. I have to emphasized "used to" because there was more than 3 times that staff has disrespected us. They started off by not giving us honey with our coffee after a few years of regularly having honey with our coffee every time we dine in. Another time we were standing waiting to be seated and there was only one couple eating, 2 girls wiping the tables acknowledged that we were standing there for about 20 minutes. We said excuse me please? They just ignored us, so we left. So we started taking it to go instead. Now they do not give us a bowl to go. When we chose to eat outside, we order 70 dollar meal then they want to charge us for the plastic bowl to go. We then contacted the owner she ignored us.
Order food over the phone. Told pick up after half an hour. Went their gave me wrong food. After that without apology made me to wait another 25 minutes to give food. Awful customer service.
Great food and good prices, but the service could be better!
Food was mediocre. It's hard to find an authentic Thai restaurant. We had the Penang beef Curry (beef was dry, tough), pad Thai with glass noodles (my favourite dish of the night), chicken skewers (nothing special), crispy noodles with gravy (way too much gravy and barely any noodles, basically paying for veggies), and the lettuce wraps (pretty good). I would come back if I was in the mood for Thai but the food is nothing special imo.
These woman are very rude. I used to eat here all the time, things have changed. I have waited for over 20 minutes to be seated at a time when they had no customers. When I bring my girlfriend there. The attitude changes and they start becoming impolite. So I take my food to go a couple times, then they start trying to charge me for a to go bowl. We will not eat here anymore because we fell in Love with I am Thai, Abbotsford and Patsara New West. We love the culture and the food. just not this group of people.
Take out
Good food!! I would go back
Amazing worth ever penny! Chicken satay, some tam, lettuce wrap are all on our automatically order. Soup great, clean restaurant, covid protocols, long term staff welcoming atmosphere! Go!
They have great food but they didn't bring my Mother's dinner. They brought mine, my Father's and my Husband's but I had to get up (after we had already been patiently waiting for a while) find someone and request that they bring it. I advised them that it was forgotten. We waited for quite a bit longer before it finally came and we complained about them completely forgetting about it they just said oh sorry were very busy. This place is always quite busy and they should be either used to it or better at it. She said she would send the manager. No one came and nothing was changed on the bill. It came to $100 as we chose not to stay for dessert but otherwise would have if there was better service. I tipped $5 because the food was good but would have tipped much better if they could at least compensate for completely forgetting a meal due to simply being busy!
Our most recent visit was subpar. Very disappointed they have removed their bubble teas from the menu. There were 4 of us dining, one of the orders was ginger beef and it was neither ginger-y nor was the beef cooked very well. Very chewy. They did comp it which was great. The other meals were good. Also one of the glasses of water was shattered the entire way around, I had to walk it back to the kitchen as water was visibly leaking from it. Full house and the servers looked overworked.
Rude server and manager.we received our food q 30 minutes.According to the server their chef is unable to cook all the food at the same time.unable to eat.we packed our food and returned home without even eating anything!
Love the Thai fried rice. Good quantity for a reasonable price.
I love the food. Usually get take out. You can order the food as spicy as you want.
Excellent food, had the red curry and I recommend! They do take out if you want to eat at home.
I ordered this pineapple sauce dish (unfortunately I can't remember the name right now) and it was delicioussss!!! The Nigerian in me really likes spicy food and this did not fail. I wasn't sure what pineapple will be like in sauce but I am overly glad this dish did not disappoint. I had more than enough for my lunch and took some home so I could have it for dinner and have my hubs enjoy some of it as well. He really liked it. I'll definitely be trying more new dishes from here, my friend who picked our order also said she got good service too so all I see is an all round win!
medicare service with mediocre food, and higher than normal prices. probably wont be going back anytime soon. the waiter came to our table to take our order once, then never returned. I had to go up to the front to ask for my bill. I never got a water refill, or asked how my meal was. The food isn't bad, but it's not great. portions were decent. the decor was really nice. They just need to work on their service, most of all, and maybe take a look at their food. It could use a little work.
Best Thai food in the lower mainland. A must try!
Excellent authentic Thai food that a Thai would appreciate (as evidenced that there were quite a few Thai diners present). The Pad Thai serving size is about three times the regular serving. Prad King dish is very well executed. This is not your regular Thai cooking found in North America. It is definitely well above average. When asked for sliced fresh chili with fish sauce, it is prepared fresh with thin slices of fresh garlic rather than from the fridge. The Restaurant decoration is a bit odd especially with a mix of cold white and warm white light plus chandeliers. Staff are friendly and attentive. Four stars are restaurants that I highly recommend visiting and I will definitely visit again. Five stars are reserved for the exceptional restaurants or the top five percent which I consider a “Must visit when you are in town”! Recommended.
Yummy food. Good experience!
Step into the place and you are in Thailand. Great menu, with actual Thai street food items on it. If you have visited Thailand than you appreciate the food and the memories. Food is delicious and made with care and love. Service is fantastic. Great restaurant!
We love this place! Every meal is so flavorful and distinct. I recommend taking some friends/family and going family-style so you can enjoy more flavors. I also suggest ordering mild spice levels unless you're excited about intense heat. My son is keen on spicy food, but had trouble finishing his when he requested it be high in spiciness. Good value for the money and super enjoyable. You'll probably put it on you list of places to go back to in the future
Way salty and way to little flavor. Not authentic thai at all. i get noticably better thai food at thai express in willowbrook mall for 1/4th the price. Sake martini was missing its cherry. The portions do not match the excessive price. Also the place was filled with middle age suburban people which should have tipped me off to how americanized all the dishes where going to be. Chicken satay with there peanut sauce was good but all the other dishes i tried where bland over salted and left me feeling ill. Even if i liked the food more i wouldnt go there again because they clearly force there poor waitresses into short skirts.
Very flavorful and well-balanced curries. The gang goong, yellow and green curry were all great. The satay was also good. Lunch take-out is very busy. Service is friendly.
Authentic and delicious Thai cuisine. If you're not accustomed to spicy food, order "mild" or "no spicy". You have been warned, haha. Unfortunately, the waitress got my order wrong (gave me shrimps instead of chicken), but on the bright side, the shrimps were fresh and nice as well.
Great food!
Amazing Thai food. The best around. It gets really busy so it’s best to come during off hours or order for pick up. Otherwise you could be waiting for hours given how popular this place is.
I came here with a group of 6 people. The service is a bit slow during peek times (which is to be expected) but the food makes up for it! We ordered appetizers, noodle and rice dishes as well as stir fry's. Everything we ordered was amazing. So fresh and the portions were very large which the price compliments very well. I have been to many Thai restaurants and this one is the best I have had for the Surrey/Delta/Langley area.
Authentic Thai food. Good deal and good portion for their lunch menu
horrible experience at Ban Chok Dee today. Firstly, my husband got his meal way before the rest of us. When we asked, first they said they are very busy then they said they thought his meal was appetizers and they needed to wait. When our food finally arrived the Pan Prik dish was so extremely salty that we couldn't eat it. We had to return it and since it was so late we decided not to order anything else. They didn't even apologize and tried to charge us for the dish anyway. Horrible experience. It was one of our favorite places but now, we'll look for alternatives,. There are many more Thai places where they will respect our business. These people are too big now to care for individual customers.
I highly recommend the lettuce wraps and green curry! The pad thai is quite bland though. Service could be better but overall a great place.
Excellent quality food, decent portions, great environment, moderate prices, very good service! As authentic as it gets!!
Restaurant is dim and has somewhat of an intimate atmosphere. It is well-decorated. Food there comes so quickly and is absolutely delicious. Would definitely come back.
Awesome food friendly staff
The best Thai food I’ve ever had! The pad Thai is especially great. Service can be lacking but the food makes up for it. A must try.
best Thai food ! great seating outside as well.
Enticing! But the staff is a bit frowning. And maybe they are already tired. All in all, foods are great!
Atmosphere provides an authentic cultural experience. Food is exceptionally delicious. Went closer to closing time, but the service was still top notch. Probably one of the best Thai food places in the area.
The food here is just excellent. I haven't had better Thai for a long, long time, and my Thai ice tea was the best I've ever tasted. It's a bit pricey, but I think it's fair to say you get what you pay for. Also love the atmosphere of it - it has a sort of traditional/modern Asian style to it, but it's not pretentious. There's plenty of parking nearby, but nothing really directly near (that we were able to get, anyway), so a tiny walk was required. Worth it. :-)
Great Thai cuisine. Went as a group with different allergies and they were able to accommodate. Very good food and atmosphere. Would eat here again.
Amazing restaurant, food and atmosphere. I have nothing bad to say about this place. I've been to Thailand and I can say that Ban Chok Dee knows how to make Thai food. The food was fresh and very tasty. You can have it less or more spicy. I highly recommend this restaurant for a night out for any occasion. I will definitely be going back
Best Thai food !!!! Best grease free and crispy FRESH spring rolls.I ordered pick up at 1 pm to eat for dinner New Years eve, as delivery would be awfully long to wait. Killer cashew chicken, excellent prawn pineapple and prawn Pad .
There were four of us and we made a reservation for 4:30 and were on time. We were seated immediately. Water was delivered right away but it took the waitress over 20 minutes to get back to us and it was only because we called one of them over. By 5:15 we finally started receiving our food. One or two dishes at a time. By 5:30 they stopped delivering and one of our group still didn't have their dinner. The wait staff is the worst. They don't smile, they don't speak very good English and they are slow and unconcerned. On the other hand the food was excellent!! The chef is unsurpassed by any other Thai chef that we have tried.
Ordered over the phone and the person was a bit snappy. Came to pick up my order and met the person on the line and she was a lot nicer. We ordered chicken pad thai and green curry lunch specials. Both were delicious and very generous servings. The thai iced tea was too sweet for my taste but still quite enjoyable.
Very good green curry. Coming from a Thai home it's almost insurmountable to my mother's. Service is quite efficient for what amount of staff they appear to have. Appetizers are served quickly and portions are plentiful. Along with filling food you'll definitely find yourself taking home leftovers!
The food and my fancy lavender drink were fantastic. The server was warm and friendly. Best part because we went with our baby was the clean bathroom with a change table and comfy chair. Love local businesses that accomodate families
Ban Chok Dee is my favourite Thai restaurant in the area. The restaurant's ambience is very chic and modern. The staff are very friendly and the food is fantastic. If you're craving some Pad Thai, hit up this place. The lunch specials are also very well priced and delicious.
Love this place everytime I go. Full of flavor lots of big portions, and very friendly staff.
Good food, but I find it a bit pricey.
Food prepared 30min
We like it alot but sweet and sour snapper is too much vege and a little of fish.
Love this place , always friendly and sweet staff . Plus the food is amazing ! Haven't had a bad thing yet !
Delicious Thai food. Very authentic and not North Americanized.
Food and service was fantastic. Busy little restaurant with a lovely look and feel to it. Would recommend booking a table beforehand during dinner times. Will definitely be going back again.
Can't call them for take out. Tells you to go to Facebook. Then they do not reply after 10 minutes messaging them on Facebook messenger even though thats a weird way to take orders.
Omg this food is fire power this Thai platters presentation and taste were unbelievable i hardly recommend it
Food is good, not the best you can find in Vancouver.
BEST THAI PLACE EVER. I almost don’t wanna give it an awesome review so it doesn’t get too busy when I wanna go hahahaha but seriously it’s amazing there. Wonderful portions, strong flavour, and amazing menu. The ambiance is great in there and the service is good too!! Add it to your list to try!
Food is good but always so busy and takeout wasn't ready after an hour of ordering
So good !!!
Thai is my favourite and Ban Chok Dee is the cream of the crop.
Worst restaurant to order food delivery.. Basically 2 hr wait they should just say only dine in ????????
Really good Thai food. Very tasty dishes, presentation is wonderful. Ben our server was great, attentive, and very friendly. The whole experience from start to finish was really good. Definitely making it my go to Thai Restaurant.
Food is delicious and authentic to when I lived in Thailand. Just beautiful
Easily the best Thai food in the lower mainland. the panang curry is creamy, smoky and sweet with a hint of heat. this time I opted for chicken but it can be with pork or shrimp as well. My girlfriend and I also shared the Pad Thai and got it extra spicy which was ???????????? insanely good. Flavors that can't be matched. We also shared the Basil Fried Rice and this is a winner as well, such deep flavors from the herbs and great flavor from the smoky cooking process. Reasonable prices and great atmosphere. It gets busy so book ahead of time!
It's Oct 3/2020. This restaurant generally has the best, outstanding Thai food you can imagine, and I have eaten there with my wife many times. I don't know if staff in the kitchen has changed, but we ordered 2 dishes tonight. One was Drunken Noodles which is usually spicy, the other PadThai Woon Sen. Both orders were slated to be mild, however there was no spice at all. Thinking that because I tried something different, maybe it was me, so I ordered Pineapple Chicken Stir Fry. This I ordered spicy. Got home and again no spices at all. I will follow this up with a phone call. Generally the dishes are a knock out!!!
Quick and easy. Very nice staff. Excellent menu that's not overwhelming with choices.
Amazing Thai food! I love it!!
Service
The food was just wonderful! Delicious, fresh and pretty good portions for the price. Shared 4 dishes among four friends (we're fairly big guys) and our total was around $17 per person. Service was good. Would recommend making a reservation, we went on Friday night and it was very busy.
Came in half an hour before kitchen closed, ordered a few things, food is pretty good, but for me is a bit too sweet, and for the price, not big portion.
????Found this gem thru google ratings and decided to give it a try. Didn’t expect much wait but Parking was full, so the lineup. Waited 45 min to sit in, then another 40 min before food served on table. By this time everyone was feeling ‘hangry’. And next20 min everyone was silent as enjoying their yummy & delicious thai food. No complaints from food but something need to be done for wait times.
The best Thai restaurant I've tried here in BC! The place was clean, food was brought out in a timely manner and tasted amazing! My husband and I felt like we were on vacation sitting in the restaurant. I ordered the chicken cashew nut and was a little hesitant as some places use low quality chicken; however I was blown away with how good the dish was! Will definitely be coming here again with friends.
Visited this place for dinner. Ambience is nice. Portion size is decent. Good service. Restaurant follows COVID protocols.
Had a great time here tonight with my Mom. The service was fast, both the calamari appetizer and my seafood entree were delicious. I would happily recommend this place to anyone who wants to try something different. The decor on the inside is also very warm and cozy. ????
We had a great night here again. Food is amazing, service is fantastic!! I especially recommend the Green Curry, and White Sangria!!
Review 2021: Update to our previous review they have gone from very good to horrible. So sorry to report that they have begun to mess up our orders, the quality has gone down considerably and their attitudes have become quiet rude. Time to search for another Thai place and avoid this place like a plague. Spend your hard earned money somewhere else ********************************************** Very good experience however please note that the place is super busy so the reservation is recommended. The food is great very close to authentic Thai food however the place is bit cramped. The staff is friendly and can accommodate customisation. We'll definitely be going back.
Amazing Thai food. A wide variety of foods. Good foe Vegans also. Nice starter and desert menu. Reasonable price.
We ordered take out and it was already going to be a two hour wait. It ended up being four hours. We are not sure if they lost our order or if it was because they were so busy, but this was unacceptable. Not impressed. Four hours is a ridiculous amount of time to wait for take out.
I have dined in here many , many times. For lunch and dinner. Always consistent with the quality of product and service HOWEVER recently just before Covid started , the kids couldn`t make it to the restaurant, so we ordered their favorite to take home Pad Thai and Red Curry. Took it home with us and put it in a glass container for them to pick up the next day. So, a couple of weeks ago we ordered 4 dinners to go and brought them home. Measured them in the glass containers and they were at least 30% less than the orders we took home previously that would have been served at the restaurant. Very disappointing. Their answer ? These are the containers we buy ? So, we`re paying full price for just over a lunch order ? If people are paying for dinner portions then you need to buy dinner portion containers. Try these the next time you go to your favorite restaurant before you order take out. It`s a little shocking
Best appetizers for a quick bite to eat. We order the Ban Chok Dee Planter, amazing sauces that come with it #BanChokDeeLangley
This is our favorite place for Thai food. I love the vibe there, the food is delicious, and we've always had the nicest servers. There are too many menu goodies to pick a favorite. Can't wait to go again.
Best Thai restaurant in the Langley area. Food is always hot and delicious, eat in or take-away. They cater to different levels of spice requested and any other little changes as requested. Keep going back here time after time and have never regretted it.
Great food, authentic taste. Service wasn't the best but we all have bad days...Highly recommended!
Food was excellent and the service fast and friendly.
Amazing Thai food! Service is always great and the dishes are always delicious. One of the best restaurants in Langley for sure!
Reserved online in the morning and got confirmation that my evening time slot reservation was accepted. Looking forward to enjoying this restaurant I drove over an hour and made it on time. The time was now 6pm, which was the time I was confirmed for. The restaurant was closed! They put up a handwritten sign about some issue with power. I called but it only went to a voice-mail message. What a disappointment. No calls from anyone in my calls history nor was a voice-mail left for me that I shouldn't attempt to make it their restaurant due to their issue that affected operations. How terribly irresponsible. I should have left it at that. However, I called tge next morning to ask about the day before. Apparently they claimed to have called everyone on the reservation list. If that was true, then I may have been the only one that was not called. Determined to give them a chance, I asked for a new reservation the same day, first thing when they re-open for dinner. Our party arrived on time, and got seated. Finally, we are inside on the 2nd day! We ordered and asked to keep one menu so we could browse some more in case there was something else that caught our eye. Things seemed to be going well while waiting for our order. We found another item we wanted to add and asked another server to add it to our existing order. She repeated our additional order and walked off. We noticed she didn't use a tablet to take our additional order but thought nothing of it. The food started to arrive. Yay, let us begin the enjoyment. By the time we finished all the food served to us, we started to wonder if our last dish will arrive. 10-15 minutes went by nobody came to our table. Then about 20 minutes later the server that took the last additional order came by our table and asked if we were finished eating! We then told her that the dish we ordered from her still has not arrived. Her response, "I did not take an order from you." I asked, "if she remembered when she repeated our order back to us." Then suddenly she said, "Ohhh, yes. Your can be made quickly." I asked her if she forgot to add it to our existing order. She claimed she did NOT. Instead of apologizing that she forgot and would ask the kitchen to expedite our additional order, she just lied and said, "it's in the kitchen and can get it for you or I can just cancel it." What??? Okay, that means there is no order in the kitchen and she willing to pretend the order can get canceled even if the kitchen was preparing it. Yeah right. Usually they would rush to the kitchen and look for the prepared dish. Disgusted, I just opted for the cancelation and get the bill. Honestly their food can be delicious but not consistent. Service is where they lack completely, and should work on their honesty. That just means we wouldn't be the first customers that's been lied to. People lie out of habit.
Amazing food! Nice service. Big portions. Loved every bite of it.
Best THAI restaurant in the area. Never had a bad experience. Excellent food. Highly recommended.
I would have given 5 stars but they forgot to bring us our coffees. Other then that the service was efficient and friendly enough. The food was delicious.
Lots of choices, clearly marked vegetarian dishes. Fast service and friendly. We were first to arrive right at opening 4:30 on a Friday, and within 15 minutes the place filled up. Large portions and great sangria. Medium spice definitely has some kick, but a nice balance with the Pad Thai sweetness. Sticky rice is for sure stickey!
Seems this place has gotten greedy during the quarantine. This was always my fav Thai food place until now. I ordered delivery the other night . She wouldn’t accept cash at the door so I paid with my CC. She asked if I wanted to include a tip for the driver. I told her I would give him cash. She said if I ordered $40+ it would include free delivery. My sister ordered from them the following night and she was told $50+ included free delivery. The food is good, but their delivery portions are half portions at the same price as dine in. They won’t take cash at the door unless it’s a tip for the driver. They need to make up their minds about the min amount for delivery. Looks like gouging to me. I won’t spend another there.
Went with a pal on NYE and surprisingly got in without a reservation. Previously, my exposure to Thai food started and ended with Pad Thai (which is always a good choice) but now I can add lettuce wraps and pineapple cashew friend rice (though I doubt the legitimacy of this as an authentic Thai meal, it was very tasty and possibly the first time I have ordered rice from a restaurant in my 22 years). It was kind of pricey, but lasted me 2.5 meals. The lettuce wraps restored my faith in the water-vegetable that is iceberg lettuce; they were honestly soooo good. Our waitress was polite and friendly, the atmosphere of the restaurant itself was nice and I do believe I will return one day. My only question is regarding the artistic motivation behind using chandeliers in bird cages as the primary light source, but to each his own and all that.
The mango sticky rice we had was really delicious. I would recommend it. The prices are a bit high though and the service was slow.
Service was a little bit slow to start, but probably because they were quite busy. However once we had our drink and appetizers ordered, the service was fantastic! Food is seriously amazing, and it's a great date night place as well if you can get one of the coveted booths ???? One of Langley's finest and probably the best Thai food in the area
It was my first time there, so I didn't know the rules very well. When I arrived, no one took care of me and everyone was inside. So I went inside and asked, and the waitress yelled at me to go back to the entrance and wait. She even touched me and swiped me. I felt very bad and got out of there soon. I know it's famous for its deliciousness, but I wouldn't recommend it to my friends. Customer first!
Food is decent. Large portions. Very very crowded indoor space however, did not feel very safe given the pandemic, as such will not plan to return until things are better.
Definitely the best thai food you can find in the lower mainland. From the outside it looks small, but it’s beautifully designed inside. Will definitely be coming again!
Absolutely the best Thai food I've ever had. The service is usually quite lacking but they are almost always packed! I have noticed when I call for take out I am not treated with the same respect as when I am a guest inside which bothers me, but not enough to go elsewhere! Their food makes up for it. The red curry, tofu ginger cashew nut, panang curry and the power greens in peanut sauce are my favourites. Their peanut sauce is to die for! Their prices are a bit higher than most places but I love that all their curries come with lots of veggies and everything is big portions. I (almost) always have leftovers. Many delicious vegan options as well!
Out side building looks very vintage and cute so we were so excited to order food. Anyway 1 st day we actually had we couldn't had our meal at this place due to power outage and actually no one notified us so we had to go to another restaurant... However since this was happened last time so we were so ready to have great dishes .. Sigh then this became worst night for our familly. Drink took longer than 30mn... and food was not like what we expected. Could been really nice place if chef was diffrent
This place has become my default Thai eatery. Ban Chok Dee has delivered a great experience every time we come -- the food is exceptional. The service always friendly. Their lunch combos are very good and reasonably priced. The curries are amazing; I'm addicted to their Panang Curry.
Really good Thai food. Nice staff.
Outstanding food, great service good prices. The green curry and cashew chicken are especially delicious. Long wait times so I recommend making a reservation.
Good food! Stuffed chicken wings were yummy! (but not enuf sauce with them) Noodles to veggie ratio is off, not enuf veg,and then mostly shredded carrot and cabbage. Hardly any meat in the sir fry that you pay extra for the chicken. Nice Thai decor, no a/c, HOT and STUFFY! Usually we sit and converse after eating but we couldn't wait to leave because it was so stuffy. Maybe a 6.5 or 7 out of 10 overall.
Went here for early dinner yesterday. Nice place, nice staff, the thai iced tea and veggie spring rolls were really good, must try.. Then we ordered Tofu Ginger Cashew which was decent too - liked it. Veggie Pad thai was the last item we tried, it was a extra sweet for our taste. But over all, a really good restaurant. I heard their curries are also good. Will give them a shot next time!
GOOD FOOD, Service could be better The food tasted authentic. The downside was the service that didn't equate to the price tag of the meal. I didn't mind paying the price for the taste, but I expected the service to be on par. I ordered pork salad that's supposed to come with sticky rice. The lady server served the dish with steam rice and walked away without saying anything. Of course, I noticed right away. Only when I asked about it, she said it just wasn't ready. Ok, but a little heads up would have been nice. Then, the beef fried rice was served with chicken instead. I noticed right away that it's chicken. So, I asked if that was actually beef fried rice that I ordered. She hesitated a little, but took it back to exchange. Thank you. As for the taste, I did ask for mild, just didn't expect it to be that mild. Lastly, $6 for Thai iced tea was...steep. It's overly sweet, hence, made it overpriced. Overall, the all the food was delicious. I'd say this is one of the most authentic Thai food I've had around town. I'm just not sure that I want to spend another $70 for lunch with that kind of service again. We'll say. Maybe, I'll visit again someday. The food is THAT good. PS. It was a little dusty around the small planters at the table. It didn't affect the overall experience, but it'd be nice to keep a restaurant clean.
