Absolutely delightful! I’m from out of town and we don’t have any middle eastern restaurants there, so this was very special for that and other reasons. My Dad was taking me there because he knows that I like exploring and he was reluctant. I was a little nervous because I have been very sick and didn’t know if there would be anything there that I could eat. It was clear from the moment we entered the restaurant that the person there was deeply invested in giving his best. The atmosphere was clean, minimal and inviting. We got started with saffron tea and tried a lamb and chicken kebab plate that came with the best rice I have had. Also we tried the olives with walnuts and pomegranate. My Dad said he doesn’t like olives but tried it and couldn’t stop eating it. The food was absolutely lovely and very kind to both the palate and digestive system. Do yourself a kindness and check this place out!!

I ordered a Shirazi salad, and vegetables felt like they were just picked. 3. There is a great attention to detail and how the food is served or delivered. We came here on the recommendation of our friends. We were not disappointed. The restaurant is family owned and run. The service was fantastic. As soon as we sat down we were treated to Saffron tea. The food was perfectly spiced. Normally my husband and I don't like lamb. My husband was talked into trying it and a chicken kabob. Both were delicious. I highly recommend you give this restaurant a try next time you are wondering where to go for dinner. My 'lamb loving' friends with us said it was the BEST they ever tasted!

I was there with couple of friends for lunch and ordered the Shishlik Kebab. First, it was not cooked well. Second, not well marinated and spiced. I could taste and smell the raw meat and fat!! We talked to the chef and he said we just add salt to the meat and cook it!! How is that possible and he was defending it aggressively. When you make Kebab you should consider all tastes. None of us could eat our kebab dish! He said he will not charge us for the Kebabs but later when we go the receipt he only removed the appetizer from it! Lie!!! Will never ever go there.

The kebab was amazing, fresh flavorful salads, the bread is handmade and worth the visit just to eat the bread. The most authentic Middle Eastern place i have been to. It is a family run restaurant. Their food (especially kababs) are phenomenal. The tea that they serve as soon as you get there is world class. The service is from the heart. We come here atleast once a month for a family style dinner.

Went for lunch with my family, and was very impressed with this spot. We ordered a few kebabs and an appetizer, and although it was just the owner working with his young daughter tending tables, the food came out in very reasonable time. Everything was piping hot, juicy, well spiced and fresh. They didnt cheap out on the saffron either. You get the sense that this was a home cooked meal. The price didn't break the bank, and overall was great value. The owner is very pleasant and attentive to his customers. Will definitely be a regular customer!

I didn't like the taste of food and after giving feedback to them, the owner came on to us super offended and not very welcoming to our feedback and just telling us, "It is what it is and it's probably because the sheeps in Canada taste different than sheeps in Iran" hahaha Very good presentation how the food looks like, but the Taste like no other Persian food i have ever had in my life in past 30+ year :) -- Reply to the Owner's Reply I apologize i forgot to mention that i appreciate the gesture of taking of 1 of the appetizers off one of the meals. Also because you are getting offended on getting feedback again, I didn't make any comments on the kind of meat you use and just simply mentioned (also in person) about how the taste of it wasn't like anywhere else i have had the same food. Even in this Country/City. Hope instead of attacking your customers for providing feedback, you will use these as an opportunity to improve your future customer's experience.

My husband and I were in today for a late lunch, and we loved it. The chicken kabobs and Koobideh were juicy and so flavourful, and all the side dishes that come with the meat were fresh and delicious. This is my second time eating here. I was there 4 months prior, which was my first time since finding Avishan on Google with my friend and the owner remembered what I had ordered the first time. This is a friendly place with great atmosphere and the dishes are perfect. I have enjoyed everything I’ve eaten and look forward to coming back on my next visit home. Fantastic food, dessert and service! The "Shishlik" made me feel nostalgic about my favorite Shishlik joint back home. The home-made Baklava was the greatest one I've ever tried and the servers were really friendly and attentive. Although the whole menu was a little overpriced, but it was really worth it! :) This is definitely the best Persian cuisine in Greater Vancouver.

Families got together for a dinner , with children we were 40 persons. As always the food was outstanding , specially the bar b q chops. The service was excellent . Everyone had a great time, they treated with special care and even kept the restaurant one 30 minutes beyond closing time.

Went in with lot of anticipation today however it was an absolute let down... ordered Chicken kebab, which was dry and smelled raw unlike any middle eastern kebab, Rice was dry and definitely not fresh (damn dry), the Bread with Morani was stale (hard to chew and probably just reheated)... overall food looked reheated .. When mentioned about the chicken to the server .. well she wasn’t much bothered or wanted to acknowledge anything... Sorry not coming back

The ultimate comfort food! We keep coming back for the shishlik (rack of lamb accompanied with their house rice, grilled tomato and shirazi salad) and soltani (koobideh kebab and barg kebabserved with rice, grilled tomato and salad). For dippings and sauces I love to dip my lamb in mast khiar (yogurt, cucumber, fresh mint) and my husband loves the mast moosir with the soltani (shallot, yogurt, cucumber, fresh dill). If you've never tried baklava, you need to try it here! Baklava is a rich, sweet dessert pastry made of layers of filo filled with chopped nuts and sweetened and held together with honey. There is also a hint of cream which makes it a match made in heaven with tea. A must try! Avishan makes their food so fresh every time we order, and because it's fresh don't be surprised to wait at least 20+ minutes for the food to be done cooking. When we crave for middle eastern food, we think of avishan!

Avishan is a small restaurant but the tables are well spaced. Chairs are comfortable and they don't try to push you out, so you can enjoy your tea and dessert. Food is delicious. Tried the Halim Bademjan as an appetizer and thoroughly enjoyed it. Had the Chicken Kebab and Lamb Shank as mains, both were excellent. The lamb was tender and fell off the bone. Only thing we didn't like was the Doogh, a yoghurt drink. Found it very salty and while the minty after taste was okay the drink itself wasn't for us. On the other hand, we could've drank the saffron tea all night.

Happy to have found a good restaurant in Langley as there aren't too many locally owned family restaurants that offer fresh delicious food. I had the chicken kabob and eggplant and bread starter (can't remember the name). My meal was excellent. I loved that it came with a fresh cucumber and tomato salad. The presentation was really nice, the chicken was tender and flavorful. The bread with the appy was really good and tasted made in house. The customer service was excellent. We'll be back!! ????

I love Persian food and this place has some very tasty dishes. The bread is usually amazing, but I have gotten a stale batch which was disappointing. The eggplant and yogurt dips make great appetizers - I could just eat that and be happy with my dinner. The olives are a total flavor bomb and make a great side dish to pretty much anything here. I usually get the ground lamb kabobs which are spiced wonderfully. The rice is fragrant and so pretty. I recommend trying the tea. Service can be a bit slow but I don't mind too much with tea and bread to distract me. Definitely give this place a try.

None of the 3 staff were wearing masks while in the kitchen. Langley bylaw officers came in while we were there and the cook was arguing with them about wearing masks! Will not return. And to reply to your response below, you have no idea what you are talking about. We did not call bylaw. They were sitting out front of your restaurant when we arrived so obviously other people were concerned too. You and your staff were NOT wearing masks and putting your staff and customers at risk. Your food was really good, but it's important we all follow public health orders and keep the community safe.

You can't go wrong with this restaurant if you like kebabs and middle east foods. Best lamb shank in lower mainland and kebabs are just perfect. Friendly staff will give you a cozy feeling while enjoying foods as this business is a truly family business. Very clean. Kitchen is open and everything visible to the clients. Very traditional style Persian food. Mostly lamb. Even the koobideh is 100% lamb. Which is perfect for lamb lovers but might be too strong of a lamb taste for others. The chef makes all koobideh skewers by hand, no machine no mold. The prices are a little above average, but it could be justified by the facet that they are are mostly lamb dishes (more costly than beef) and come with rice and salad. Tea was complementary as well.

I have been here twice and both experiences were great. I am not a lamb eater but since its their specialty I thought why not give it a try. The first time I went here I ordered the lamb tenderloin and the second time I ordered the lamb shoulder. Both were very good. The meat is very tender and flavorful. From first glance you get a feeling of home, upon entering the restaurant we were enchanted by the decor, atmosphere and the generous host welcoming us to sit down. We ordered the chicken and beef, a side of salad and the yogurt. I kid you not, we were blown away by the taste and portion sizes. Everything on the menu is delicious but the best the host/ owner, he made us feel like family treated us well and even offered desserts free of charge for us to try. I've had Persian food a few times and this is without a doubt the best Persian restaurant I have ever been to. From the saffron tea and olives at the start to the great egg plant appy that the owner recommended to the very large main courses, I had the rack of lamb, which was excellent - it's all delicious and cooked perfectly. You can tell they really care about the food they serve, it's presented beautifully. And healthy. My wife is doing the keto diet and she had no trouble eating here. To top it all of the wine selection was great. They had our favourite cab sav and a Malbec we like too. We will be back soon for another awesome meal and top notch bottle of wine. Great experience.

Went to this place for lunch and it was fantastic. Had the lamb neck, which was cooked perfectly, fell off the bone. The rice was delicious. We also had the homemade baklava which was worth it. The best Mediterranean food I've ever had. Had the lamb kebab along with the "mast moosir" yogurt dip as a side. Kebab came with a simple salad and saffron rice. Amazing stuff. It doesn't sound super unique on paper, but everything was executed perfectly. Will make a point of returning. Update: Returned Oct 2021 and tried the "halim bademjan" (mashed eggplant, lentils, a bit of meat, and spices served with excellent bread). It was amazing and my new favorite thing here. *Highly* recommended.

The name of the restraunt is Persian, when you get there, you hear persian music, and you are given a persian food menu, but the waitress does not speak Persian. Before going there, I called to book a table, and she said they do not communicate in Persian. As the majority of customers are from the persion community in Langley, I believe this needs reconsideration not because of people's language capabilities, but to create a consistent cultural package. While we enjoyed the taste of lamb neck and lamb shank, the Koobideh Kebab and Shishlik were not good enough.

Excellent food!! The kebabs were amazing! The flavours of the kebabs, and rice were perfect. The food was very hot, which is very important to me. The only thing I would say is the salad was a little less flavorful (i.e., the "dressing") than I'm used to with regards to Middle Eastern food. However, that's just a side thing for me. Absolutely loved the baklava - not too sweet. The service was amazing, as the server and chef/owner came over to check multiple times to ensure everything tasted good, and whether anything else was needed. I'd definitely recommend this restaurant! I'll be going back soon.

Let me summarize, it's almost top 10 Iranian Kabab you'll ever have. Saman, the owner and Sheff is amazing both as person and as a chef. I live in West Vancouver and a friend of mine posted a picture of his Shishlik kabab at this place a few months back, I knew I had to check it out but would never expect the most authentic Shishlik in North America in a small place out in Langley. Great vibe, amazing food and fantastic service, I will definitely be back with my friends and family.

Went on October 8, 2021. Arrived in the evening, an hour to closing and was given a table at the side of the wall. Was wondering if we were going to be asked for the vaccine passport, which we were when we sat down. Restaurant is very clean with pictures of what look to be historical sites in the Middle East. We were provided a tea that came with a cube of sugar to mix in. My wife mixed in the sugar in hers, while I drank mine without. Both styles were good. Tea was mild and not over steeped. Food wise, started with the Halim Basemjan, which is a mixed of eggplant, meat and lentils in a savory sauce. Very pleasant and quite tasty. Came with a bread that was similar that I thought was similar to a focaccia. A nice dish to mop up with the bread. For entrees, my wife and shared the Soltani and the lamb shank. Soltani is a grilled seasoned ground lamb and a grilled lamb tenderloin. Comes with rice, grilled tomatoes and and what looked to be a cucumber salad. Both meats were well seasoned and very tasty. Lamb tenderloin was done to medium. The rice looked to be a combination of white and saffron basmati. The lamb shank was very tender and well marinated. Very flavourful, especially when the drippings on the dish was combined with the rice. Overall, all meats were well prepared, not over seasoned or over done, and had excellent taste. If I did have one issue, it would be the salad, as I thought it was slightly salty. But overall, not a major concern. Our server was very friendly, especially since we were over the time that they were supposed to close. I did initially think the service might be slow, based on the people seated and not having their entrees in front of them, but our food came out in a timely manner. Overall, I would say my experience at Avishan was excellent. The food was awesome and the service was friendly and prompt. Would definitely come back again.

I went to go out for lunch with mom a couple of weeks back, and suggested we try this place. She was a bit unsure, as she is on a specific diet. She relented, and the lunch proved to be such a fantastic experience that she's told all her friend. She's taking my wife and I there for a birthday dinner next week. I was amazed by the lamb I had last time (likely the best I've ever had) but I'm thinking about trying something new. This is a marvelous, family run business that more people should know about.

I have been to every single Persian restaurant in lower mainland from North Van to Langley, this meal was the best! The tea before food is a very nice gesture. We care about the way the tea is made and this one can suit every taste! Also the Dough was amazing! The owner said she made it and it was very yumm! We also loved the Shirazi salad with the meals, yes it’s not a lot but I would rather have that than the bulk of messed salad some restaurants bring! It also came with home made bread! It had the authenticity of Persian/middle eastern presentation and that’s what anyone going to Persian restaurant would be looking for. The meal size could be increased a touch to match the price that’s the only thing I guess!

I went to the restaurant on May 26th, food was good, tasty, service quite slow. Ordered baklava, it was the worst I ever had. I shared my opinion with a waitress, while talking to her quietly , giving my opinion on the pastry, a lady interrupted my conversation with the waitress , stating waitress is her daughter and she is young and I should have spoken to her, she is the owner. 5/5 for food - very good quality meats and prepared to perfection. We did visit on a very busy night with a large party ahead of us. The staff were accommodating and even though it took a while to get our food we enjoyed it a lot! But even after the large party left and only two other people were in the restaurant it took 20 minutes to get our bill and pay...service needs some improvement but I would like to return on a less busy night and try it again, maybe later in the evening to avoid the rush.

My friend and I had the Soltani and the Viziri. They were both simple but incredibly unique. Really well marinaded meat. Our favorite was the Koobideh as it went really well with the rice. The spices on the Koobideh were excellent and mouth watering. Worth the money and they did not enforce the vax pass (heavily support their decision). Happy to see the servers face without a mask! Would love to visit again and plan on it.

Food was absolute perfection, service was outstanding and location was beautiful. The server was so incredibly polite and the chef even came out to wish us well. One of the most memorable moments was when the little girl in the back came out to sat hi and dazzled us with her twirly dress with a spin. Thank you for the wonderful expirience????????

Family owned restaurants are always a hit or miss, and this one definitely is a big hit. Food is fresh, well seasoned and delicious. I had salmon kebab and the fish was perfect - crispy on the outside, moist and soft on the insde. The price is amazing for how good the food quality is, not to mention thier staff is also polite and welcoming. Restaurant is clean as well as their bathroom. Will definitely revisit and this is hands down now my favourite restaurant in Langley area. If there's anything to nitpick it was the accompanying tea, which was slightly overbrewed but it's free anyway. If you are looking for fast but mediocre food, this amazing place isnt for you. Save the seat for someone who will actually appreciate good food.

The food was delicious and the complimentary tea was nice to have. However, the portion sizes are too small, the kebabs are thinner than other Persian restaurants; on top of that, the prices are waaaaay too high (the Soltani is 28 while in most restaurants it's about 15-18). I was pretty shocked to see the prices to he honest, especially the small portion size. The staff were nice, food decoration was on point and the music was also lovely.

FABULOUS food. The owner even came out and greeted each table. Great portion and well presented. They don't add a lot of extra garnishes to take the enjoyment away from your meal. Will definitely go back and recommend to my family and friends

Amazing food and customer service. Chef came personally to recommend the best dishes on the menu and answered all questions with detail, since this was my first time at a persian restaurant. Really recommend going here for a different and splendid experience.

I can't believe how over-rated this resturant is ! Everything just looks good, but the taste, absolutely awful. Their kabobs was one of the worst, if the not the worst, I've ever had in my entire life. The koobide was as thin as my index finger and tasted like pure fat. The customer service was absolutely awful. I had a very bad experience. I won't ever go back and I will definitely not recommend this place to anyone.

I had lunch at Avishan restaurant, I ordered Barg kebab and I even couldn’t eat it. We were 8 people and they had the chicken kebab and other foods but the only meal that was not good was mine. Before paying the bill I told them that the Barg kebab was not good, it's still raw and the only answer I received was “ this is the kebab we always serve”!!!!! She even didn’t apologize for the service I received.

Ordered through door dash tonight and somehow our order didn’t come through properly. I phoned the restaurant and they fixed it right away and we picked it up about 15 minutes later, fresh and delicious! Next time we will order, we will skip door dash and order right from the restaurant. The flavours were amazing and we will eat here again.

We were searching for halal steak around Vancouver, we found it 45 minutes drive to Langley. We were reluctant about the taste but decided to try it anyway. We reserved a table beforehand by calling. However, regardless of a bit longer time it took us to serve the food, the taste was very very far from disappointment. We tried lamb shoulder, shashlik and the medium to well boneless steak. These were very tasty, though we liked the shashlik most. I would highly recommend it.

We were so fortunate that found Avishan Restaurant. Excellent Food. You won't find even close to Avishan's quality, delicious, and affordable dishes throughout BC. Its founder and manager, Saman, is the best Chef. Kind, warmhearted, and professional. I strongly recommend everyone to try Avishan's Food and outstanding Cheesecake and Baklava as dessert.

By far, it is the best Iranian restaurant in the great Vancouver. The food taste is authentic, and some time you feel that you are in real Shandiz Mashhad. The size of the food is compatible with Iranian appetite ask for extra rice is free, though. The price compares to its quality and size is cheap. I have been here twice and both of them was great experience.

Really enjoyed our lunch here. The small menu was already a good sign of things to come . We ordered Eggplant Kashk for appy and the combo Vaziri and Sultani for our mains. The meats were tender and flavourful. The space is clean, bright and inviting. Honestly this place than anything we’ve tried in Vancouver or North Van. I would recommend and can’t wait to come back.

Best kabab in the city, but the service is very slow and the plates are all wooden and old and need to be replaced with ceramic plates which can be easily cleaned.

Very bad experience this time on Father's Day June 20th, 201 messed up on the order asked for Lamb Shank and got Lamb Neck. They are telling us just sorry and we have to tell Multiple times. Asked for water multiple times and did not come till the end of the meal. Asked for rice and did not come till the end of the meal as well. Did not adjust the bill due to the mess up they did we could not finish the Lamb Neck as well it was fatty.We will not be going back to this restaurant!!!!. If your server made a mistake while taking the order own it and fix it don't blame it towards to the customer!!.

If you're hungry and haven't been to Avishan, just go now - you won't regret it. The food is delicious, well seasoned, and prepared fresh and made-to-order. The portions are generous and the prices are very reasonable. I tried both the salmon and veggie kebab; the fish was cooked perfectly, still moist with a crispy exterior. The veggie kebab was delicious in its own right and a completely viable vegetarian option. I will be returning and I hope to see you there (:

It is a family owned businesses and you can tell as soon as you walk in. The food looked good but I wouldn't say it was the best in my opinion. They gave use tea in the beginning which was nice. All in all it was okay.
