Not sure what happened to this place. The staff seems to have been greatly reduced. The portions are smaller and the quality has been reduced. The table cloth was dirty on both sides.

A Gem in St Thomas. Had a chicken pasta and Tilapia dinner. Both were superb, nicely seasoned. For starters we had freshly made Cesar salads that were very good. Will definitely come back!

Was in last night for the Valentine's Day special with my date. Horrible experience. We waited close to an hour from arrival to when we got our entree. Good thing we had that sad salad to tide us over for a starter. I ordered the filet and bf the pork. My steak was medium well and should have been med rare and bf's pork was so, so dry. We didn't have time to send it back and wait again before we needed to leave. Wish we listened to our friends and ate down the street, they told us they had all 3 courses in under 45 mins and it was true fine dining quality. Never again.

Upscale restaurant for the St. Thomas area. Prices are very reasonable for the quality of the food. The wine list is a bit weak but it reflects the small town and hopefully this will improve over time. Went here for a birthday party and they provided a free cake with the meal. Also have cheap beer offered until 6 pm.

My favourite restaurant in St. Thomas hands down. I always come here with my mom for the mac n' cheese which comes with delicious sunflower bread. You can see in the kitchen if you sit at the front booths which I think is really neat!

I heard plenty of good things about this place. But I was far from impressed with my experience. Wasn't busy, and it still took forever for my food. I watched my waiter take my order, and then proceed to take the orders of 3 other tables, before putting my order in. Very slow service, and the food wasn't even hot. Will not be back

Delicious, high quality food! All of the employees are super friendly and welcoming. The Cajun Chicken Alfredo is my favorite, and you have to try their sunflower bread when you go. Our go-to place in St.Thomas! The server, Tahnee is amazing! So friendly and helpful.

Avoid this place. No one greeted us when we arrived. We just sat ourselves at the outdoor patio and waited 15 mins before we were told we had to order drinks at the bar inside. What? Ordered our drinks and food and it took another 45ish mins. The pizza I got was under cooked and very doughy. I ended up the throwing most of it in the garbage. People were smoking directly outside the front door so the smell was awful. They were severely understaffed as one person was doing everything which explained the long wait times for everything, then they had troubles with their debit machines when trying to pay and leave. It ended up being an over 2 hr ordeal for dinner and a beer. Sorry but I will not return.

The schedule looks like a special sign outside and the the schedule on the window by the door is so small and blends in with the rest of the stuff on the window. Yam fries don't have to be cooked as long as potato fries, getting an order of burnt/over cooked fries was unfortunate even more so when my table didn't get a follow up from the waitress yet tables around did. Gluten free meals are a plus ⭐ The physical environment is well set up for a sports bar it's neat. Its ⭐⭐ worthy. =⭐⭐⭐

Really liked everything we tried. Fantastic deal on half-price appetizers at lunchtime, good salads, extremely friendly and helpful staff. We tried several dishes and they were all good. My partner ate the schnitzel and it was a large portion and very good. We will be back!!

what a sham. Food is not fresh like they state, obviously all store bought. Especially desserts. and corn. really? It isn't even a vegtable. Obviously cost savings here. Would have gave it a 1 star if it wasn't for the nice girl we had serving us.... Did not see where to respond to the owner. It was this past week we were in. We are 100% it was your place. Nicely decorated. Poor food. 625 Talbot St right near the pawn shop. We parked right out front infront of a pizza place. And by the looks of it from ms scott, we weren't the only ones with corn that night. will we get a store bought desert if we see corn too. downplaying your mistakes on another restaurant is very unbecoming. So I guess the 2 star becomes a 1 star. Server was the only saving grace. But thanks for pointing out the other bistro. They look very interesting and I don't see any frozen vegtables on their menu. Just a great concept. Ethnic food changes every week-end. Pretty nice idea..

Had relatives visiting did a little site seeing ended up at The Bistro ???? I’m so glad I ordered the summer salad and pene pasta dish. I wish I lived closer as this would easily be one of my favorite places to eat. The staff were great! Leave room for desert ( maybe a good thing I don’t live close) The sunflower bread was incredible.

Until the last time i had a great experience at bistro. I noticed few things myself but they weren't 'enough' for me to write a review, however once i heard from my guest their opinions i decided to share. 1. Food was good, however for the price of ribs we were not very pleased. Just very fatty and not very tasty, that was one complaint. 2. When people started gathering the server came up to our table and tried to take an order for drinks, but stopped after first couple people and said he actually really needs to go serve other table first. 3. When food finally arrived server was passing plates over other people's heads.. not very professional. 4. Server asked for a birthday girl to go and pick a cake she wants, i found out he was staring at her butt....... to the point that all my guests noticed (but me). 5. To top it off which i personally think was very rude. When we were getting our bills, all were handed to all guys EXCEPT ours. Just to remind you it was my birthday lunch that my fiance surprised me with. Why the hell would the server give me the bill ? We all found it very disrespectful. Not very nice for me to hear after from my guests: ''Oh i didnt want to make a scene and ruin the party'' Well no need to worry, we will not be doing this again. I also regret tipping the server which he definitely did not deserve. I would say some basic etiquette knowledge for the servers would help...

Heart breaking... I love small independent places I was realy hoping this would be a good one. 2.5 stars... Server was great !!!! Food was not ... prices are on high end pub food side on par with let's say Kellsies but quality was below Chucks :( I did not want to write this review but I can't swallow paying 15$ for a burger that you can buy from a box a giant tiger in the freezer section. And frozen fries too :( The soup was flavorless and gloopy the open face sandwich was semi tasty but very small for nearly $17... All 3 of us left hungry and not pleased with taste at all so so sad

Would not recommend this restaurant. Lobster cakes were from frozen, didn't taste good at all. Brushetta shod be on baguette was in a flat bread and the creme Brule was the Ines you get in Costco.. Doesn't live up to a bistro name. Very disappointing.

Excellent food, well priced and wonderful atmosphere. I went here for lunch on a Friday. It was nearly full but we got a seat right away. Right away, I was struck by how cozy the atmosphere was. Our service was prompt, friendly, and we never felt like we were waiting unreasonably long. I got the cheddar ale soup to start and the home made quinois burger for a meal. The soup was dangerously delicious and the burger was very tasty, especially considering it was a veggie burger. I also got a loaf of their sunflower seed bread to go. It's amazing! I would not hesitate to return to the bistro.

The photos posted are outdated. This place is actually a sports bar popular with the locals. There's not a ton of seating in this place so it can fill-up quickly. Went on a Wing Wednesday evening and service was fine. Wings are great! Ask your server for the flavours not listed on the menu. Really liked the cajun wings. Paired well with local beer made in Terrace.

I haven't been to the Bistro since the change in ownership (and name). I was pleasantly surprised! I had a delicious seasonal salad which came with their equally delicious sesame seed bread. My girls shared a grilled cheese from the kids menu which also came on sesame seed bread and was also very good. The server gave us just the right degree of attention. We will definitely be back! Only one suggestion: the sign outside advertised a Saturday special, but I missed the Saturday bit. I feel advertising the special that way when it's not available is a bit misleading - why not have a chalkboard that advertises the specials for the day in question? Then you could draw in the people who will order from the board, this speeding up service. Being a chalk board means you could change it up with no additional cost to you, as well.

The owner is a very nice person. the servers are professional. the food is very tasty and good portions. i go several times per month and never been dissapointed once! only down fall is not enough desert choices. :)

Nice place but the wait is really really long, no warning from the wait staff which was pretty frustrating. A simple warning that the wait would be over an hour would have been nice. Great food! It was well presented, perfectly portioned and not heavily seasoned. I had a Montreal smoked meat sandwich and fries, my daughter had the kids chicken fingers today. We've been twice before. Once for take out and once for a quick lunch. The service is always friendly and welcoming. The burgers are delicious! Even the Saturday special! It isn't a cheap version of the usual...it's the usual - at a lower price! The wings we had for lunch were also very tasty, hot and not over sauced. Not as big as other places, but this isn't a bar.

Placed an order tonight for pizzas and poutine. Placed the order at 7pm, I called at 810pm to check on the status and was told the driver is on the way. Called again 20 minutes later and they told me they will call the driver and tell him to come straight to my delivery. By 845pm still nothing, I called again and was told the driver tried calling me but no answer, meanwhile I had a few guys from work call and text me to make sure they could get through and they could just fine. Staff here weren’t helpful and flat out lied saying they tried calling me then I called them out on saying my foods going to be cold by now. Guy on the phone says it took an hour to make it and I said that’s funny because at 808pm I was advised it left 10 minutes ago and it’s approaching 9pm now. Seriously anyone coming into town for work avoid this place, go to Mr. Mikes or Pedro’s.

This place is horrible take out service. I called the first night 45 minutes before closing time they said that they were closed. Called the next night 3 hours before closing. I waited 1 hour 50 minutes called again, they forgot my order. They said it would be the first out the door. I waited another 45 minutes and called again they said it was on the way. 20 minutes later the worst Pizza that I have ever seen arrived. It was under cooked and tasted horrible. I threw it in the garbage and went to Tim Hortons...

Went last year and it was great. This year not so much The service could have been better. Had schnitzel. Was bland, the beans tasted like canned the saving grace was the gravey for the potato. My wifes meal was ok. The big issue I had was the appetizer no side plate so your eating from the serving plate.. Then the meal showed up and I said I guess no salad? Overall experience.. ....disappointing. Next time.....someplace else!

It’s Monday, we live in small town Ontario and selections for birthday dinner for my wife we’re limited. I thought I’d check out The Bistro and I’m glad we did! The service was excellent! The staff was so friendly! Our server has a horrible singing voice but he still sang “Happy Birthday” to my wife! What’s really important is the food! We like to gauge a place by their spinach dip and now we wanna come back just for that and some wine! The dessert was a pecan meringue cream filled caramel cake to die for! Even the music was classical and very soothing but not too overpowering. This is now a staple in our going out places! I can’t give it any more praise!!

Good food with good service. We went on a Saturday night around 6 and were listening to a guitar/vocalist while we ate. The music was not too loud and was pleasant. Our food arrived in a reasonable time and was reasonably priced for the size of serving. The taste was excellent. You have to try their Ale and Cheddar soup, made with locally brewed ale!

Okay, I Love this place. Local color all the way. Never been disappointed with the food or the service. The fact that they have beer on tap from both Terrace and Prince Rupert makes them as well rooted in this region as anyone else, and they do a better job than most. They also bring in live bands, a very bold move for community like Kitimat, which has a horrific record of non-support for anything local. Just look at the number of local business fails. The hours are as good as it gets for a small community. Hopefully, with the continued support of the community (and visitors) they will continue to improve, perhaps becoming a reason to come and enjoy Kitimat.

Literally the blandest most tasteless pizza I have had in my life They must have some kind of flavour extraction system installed in the kitchen to create a pizza with no flavour whatsoever. Have they not heard of oregano, basil, garlic, or any other spice? I had a Cajun pizza which I expected to have at least some flavour, but nada, nothing. I drowned it in Frank's Red Hot just to try to get some taste into it. The dough was thick and more like a dinner bun than a pizza crust. Seriously, this is one of the worst pizzas I have ever had. Don't go there. Also, one of the young female servers was so inappropriately dressed as to be mind boggling. Skin tight spaghetti top and leotard would be much more appropriate at a stripper bar. Couldn't get any more naked without being naked.

Quite frankly we were not impressed on our fourth visit to the Restaurant. The premises were empty and we were seated at the first seat nearest the front door. Not only that we sat there for 10 minutes and nobody came to take our drink order or say sorry for the wait - you can rest assured we will not come back again. In future we suggest that the new management be aware of what is going on because if you don't you will lose customers!

My food was great but the other 6 people with me all had cold potatoes. Baked or mashed didn't matter not warm enough to melt butter. Waitress was great but she was overloaded with tables and didn't have time to look after properly. Also kitchen was backed up on orders. Quite a wait time. I would like to thank the staff by trying to make things right by giving a discount on the meals with cold potatoes and I believe a sincere apology. We will be back

We got seated quickly. Our server never asked us how the food was. French Onion soup to start, and was bland, did not end up finishing it. We got the seafood melt and the baked cappelletti. The cappelletti was great, and the sauce was creamy. The seafood melt was harsh in taste, and difficult to discern that it had lobster and shrimp as the featured ingredients. The menu overall was a hit or miss. The service was the most disappointing. No one checked on us throughout the meal, except to drop off food. From the time we told our server we were done, and asked for boxes, it took 25 minutes to get our bill and she had walked by a minimum of 5 times. Likely wouldn’t return.

Our absolute favourite restaurant in St. Thomas and possibly further. Service is super friendly! The food is absolutely amazing and well worth the price (that is super reasonable). The one time the food wasn’t great they went above and beyond to make it right to ensure we came back and we have many times. The only downside is that the hours are a bit short and not accurately listed here on google. We planned to celebrate our 1 year wedding anniversary there tonight. We arrived at 7:40 to be told they were closing at 8 p.m., despite this listing here saying they close at 9 p.m. We were so looking forward to the meal there as a perfect way to celebrate our anniversary and start an annual tradition, but instead we ended up down the street at a chain restaurant. We highly recommend to others and will absolutely be back! We hope the hours listed will be updated and maybe someday reconsidered entirely.

Nice spot in St. Thomas. Was easy to park on the street. (I don’t think they have a parking lot as it’s downtown). Nice atmosphere. Service in excellent. Came in on a Saturday afternoon and burgers were on special. I ordered the Hawaiian burger. It was excellent. It comes with a draft beer but I don’t drink, so they let let me substitute a diet cola. Must come in again and try something different. Recommended.

The wait staff is awesome, super friendly and attentive. By far the nicest atmosphere in town. It's classy, warm and inviting, which makes you want to stick around for a while. I had dinner at The Bistro, 625 Talbot Street in St. Thomas last night, September 21, 2017. This had to be the worst dining experience of my life. I attended with a group of 13 ladies. We arrived on time for our 5:30 p.m. reservation. We all ordered our meals. 2 hours later, we finally received our meals. Our entire group was very dissatisfied with the service. Two orders were returned. One because the steak ordered (medium rare) was completely overcooked. And, the cut of steak on the menu was not available and was therefore substituted. The other order was returned because it was the wrong food ordered. Instead of a seafood melt, she received a tuna melt. We complained to the server and requested to talk to the owner. He arrived to speak with us and did nothing but make unprofessional excuses. He made no attempt to right the wrong in any way. The discussions became very heated and he then invited us to leave. Two ladies literally took the invitation and got up and left the building without paying for what was consumed. I did what I did because I was making a STATEMENT. A message to the owner. Never talk so disrespectfully to your customers. Your job was to make every attempt to defuse the situation. You did the opposite. Needless to say, you have lost customers forever.

Do NOT confuse with the Rail City Bistro, which is just down the block. Very unassuming from the outside, excellent atmosphere (and larger) on the inside. Quiet, in a good way.
