If you go you really should try the Spinach & Goat Cheese Dip served with garlic toast and focaccia -- it is to die for ????. What an excellent starter to begin your meal with. Chicken parm was really good. Baked brie was off the charts yum and I had a few tasty Manhattan's. I was not impressed with the braised beef tagliatelle as I found it needed more flavour overall. Only thing was, I made a reso, arrived five minutes late and still had to wait 20 min to get a table with my pregnant wife. Would still go back to try their patio.

Great place to have dinner. Quaint and authentic with a nice selection of drink and food items to choose from. Service was a bit slow but they were busy with most of the table and chairs filled. The food was good and the price for dinner for 2 was about what we normally pay for a nice dinner with good drinks and authentic atmosphere.

Honestly I wanted to love it but the service received today was not the greatest. No one came to check on us for about half an hr while we waited for the starter and entree. I also watched as the food sat on the counter for about 10 minutes before someone went to check on it and by then both starter and entree were done. After that I watched the cooks and waitress discuss what to do for serving for 5 minutes before the starter was brought over. Fortunately that was delicious. The entree was a brought over shortly after finishing the starter but was a bit cold. After we asked for the bill it took over 15 minutes for someone to come back to check on us. In summary, food was great but wish the service was better.

we recently dropped in for dinner on a wednesday evening, discovering it was half price wine nite! woot woot! i had the gnoochi with braised beef and it was very good! my wife had the spag and meatballs and it was equally good. we also took out a hot italian pizza and i will say that it is among the best in town. the dough was very tasty with a great texture. i recommend all to check it out!

Disappointed ... after much anticipation and rave reviews from friends at Remax I was not the least bit impressed Had made New Years reservations but will be cancelling. Pizza was burnt at the bottom ... no thought in the vegan meal even after confirming this wouldn't be an issue and was more or less thrown together ... pasta dish was cold ... and spaghetti dishes were very basic with little flavour. The positive was the appetizers ... had the maple crusted brie which was a favorite along with the crispy ravioli.

This place is amazing. The decor is gorgeous, the cocktails menu is great and well mixed. The food just outstanding. The best was the service provided, the staff dealt with our emergency in the best way. After my daughter got sick in the bathroom and made a giant mess, the staff quickly packed our food and took care of things. They dealt with our ordeal with the best attitude and we really thank them for that. We are extremely sorry of the incident and hope to come back to enjoy the full experience.

We ordered a pizza with some Gluten and Dairy dietary changes. We were surprised when the pizza we ordered did not have these changes. Not only did the servers at Rustico order us a new pizza made correctly but also gave us a gift card for the inconvenience. Everyone makes mistakes but its how we handle our selves after those mistakes. Rustico handled them selves very professionally and we have returned since! Thanks for the great food and gluten free pizza!

Excellent service staff and great food! I still need to call the owner about buying a tub of the delicious bolognaise! The patio is renowned around KW and known from restaurants past with has a cozy feel and delightful atmosphere. I strongly reccomend this place as the perfect spot for a nice dinner with family, catching up with friends, or just some light patio appetizers. My ONLY complaint or grievance is that the portion sizes seem to have been reduced since last time we ordered for two in the earlier stages of the Pandemic, however it is still quite a lot of food. The pastas are cooked to perfection and the sauces are absolutely outstanding! Give it a try, you will not be disappointed!!

I was there Saturday night November 24 /18 with my family I was very mad that they served a Caesar salad to my 7 years old granddaughter I question the waitress why are you serving romaine lettuce when there is an outbreak she did not have an answer. Also I had a chicken parmesan on a bed of spaghettini the noodle were good but the breaded chicken was overcooked We were very disappointed we will not be returning

The atmosphere was nice but quite loud on a Friday night. The service was quite good. The quantity of food was not excessive, in fact I would have liked more. The food was warm but not hot - two people at our table sent it be to be warmed up - I would have if I wasn't so hungry. No bread on the table. I wouldn't return - Ennios is much better.

The first time end of June the service was excellent . Food was good. We returned last night because our first experience was pleasant , but yesterday the service we received was surprisingly bad, food took more than an hour to reach our table ( 2 pizzazz and one plain pasta with sauce) the pizza was cold, dough was tough and one of the pizza was missing ingredients. Pasta was cold as well and drenched in sauce. I don't think I will return.

What a gem, I can't believe I've never been!! What pushed me to 5 stars was the warmth, the hospitality and of course the food. Heather served our party she was so professional, yet warm at the same time. How she remembered everything and executed it all is beyond my understanding. She's an asset. We had so many dishes I won't go into detail about all, just go try them. Everything was really good. The chef's chefing right there in eyesight was pleasant I loved it. Had lunch here again Aug. 3, 2021 with my wife; LOVED the Caesar salad; pizza was delicious again The patio is perfect!! I added a photo of it. ................................................... I had the best pizza I have ever had outside of Italy, At lunch, Oct. 13. The pizzas were hot from the oven. The patio is excellent: on the side street NOT facing Victoria so nice and quiet. (Might be getting a bit cool for eating outdoors by next week, but they have a large interior area too, with Covid distancing.) Our server was Tina; she was friendly and efficient. My daughter loved her pizza too. I'll bring my wife next time and I think she will also love it.

Whenever I see lots of five-star reviews of new restaurants, I wonder if they were written by friends and family of the owners. Having just enjoyed a meal at Rustico, I can say the positive reviews are warranted, regardless of who wrote them. The place has a warm atmosphere, great service, and very good food. We decided to split a bunch of appetizers: the gnocchi poutine, caesar salad, calamari, and arancini balls. All were excellent, though the arancini was a bit on the dry side. It wasn't spectacular (hence four stars instead of five), but definitely a nice addition to Kitchener's selection of restaurants. My only complaint: only two beers on tap: some generic American light beer (Bud Light or something), and a passable Italian beer. Given all the craft beer options available these days, a better selection would make Rustico even more appealing.

Ordered 2 gnocchi dishes last night from skip the dishes. It was our first time ordering and we've never been to the restaurant but had heard great things. Giving three stars because the restaurant didn't have a chance to make it right since we weren't in the restaurant, otherwise I would give less, I was very disappointed. Our gnocchi was terribly chewy and tough. The sauces and meat were good, but the chewy gnocchi ruined the whole dish. I hope that it was just a fluke because I'd love to visit in person and try a different dish.

My Son and his Fiancé took us to Rustico’s last night for dinner for our first visit. We couldn’t have had a nicer experience, service was very friendly and prompt. The food was dynamite! Hubby had ordered his fav....Veal Parm ( not frozen!) I had the Lasagna ...melt in your mouth! They have a great take out menu as well.... and specials. Please support your local Restaurants, this one is a keeper!! It may have been our first visit....but won’t be our last!!

Went to rustico this afternoon and it was pretty quiet at that time. Sat at the patio but it was a bit chilly so went inside. The patio is a cute space but right next to the road. We ordered the Mediterranean pizza and the pesto Alfredo gnocchi. The pizza was good, and their quality ingredients definitely shine through. The crust was perfect. The gnocchi was definitely one of the best I have had in the area, almost a cross between fondant potatoes and tater tots ???? if that makes sense. The sauce was delicious and the walnuts and chicken tasted amazing. Definitely great place to grab food if you’re in the area

We walked in this Monday night without a reservation expecting it may be a slow night. We were wrong. It was very busy but we were seated immediately inside. Our sever warned us that there may be a long wait because there were only 2 of them serving. She was right. It took very a very long time. It was an hour before our drink order was taken. We were getting very impatient. I was expecting to write a poor review but despite the frustrating long wait the Rustico team won us over. Our appetizers and entrees were all delicious - carefully plated and hot and high quality. The kitchen did not appear to be making compromises or mistakes despite the rush. We all enjoyed our meals. Our server did her best to acknowledge the long wait and our appetizers and entrees arrived within a fairly reasonable time. We also tried our best to be very gracious as post covid lockdowns are bound to be affecting many restaurants in ways we may not be able to anticipate. We were treated fairly when the bill came. Our server genuinely did her best to make everything right in the end, and we appreciated it very much. She made sure we will be back. It was a rough start but a very fair and professional end that left us with a good taste in our mouths.

Food is very, very average at best. Honestly, tasted like jar sauce and packaged pasta from Wal-Mart. Appetizer was crispy ravioli, but it literally had no filling, just some cheese sprinkled on time. Dessert was good, but given my bill for 2 people was about 100$, I won't be back for sure.

My husband and I were there for lunch on a Monday and we were dissapointed. The coffee we got tasted like muddy water, the waitress apologized and made a fresh pot (I suspect it had been sitting there since morning) My husband ordered the chicken parmesan on a bun and when he bit into it tasted like old oil. When he scraped off the toppings we realized it was burnt to a crisp. The server apologized and offered us a complimentary entree card which was a nice gesture, but I don't think we will be returning.

But a week ago I reserved a table for myself and 5 girlfriends for dinner for this weekend and got a call to say that they had made an error in reserving us a table as they had overlooked that they had a large group of 40 coming in. Unfortunately mediocre. Service, food, atmosphere. Just not as anticipated. For service: please please please continue offering. Dessert, coffee, anything else I would like. This gets us into Food: fried ravioli was a new spin and tasty. Pizza was under cooked, pasta very bland. Dessert.... No dessert, options are minimal and honestly sometimes just a coffee, or specialty coffee with ice cream would do. But it wasn't offered and from what I saw not on the menu.. (also there wasn't a specific"dessert menu") Atmosphere: music outdoors is kept too loud. I love music, prefer it over lots of conversation. However when sitting at a table with people, they are the priority and music is not. The patio is perfect, quaint and romantic. I love the tomato plants growing. Honestly, with a few small changes this place has a knock out business. Somebody please step up to the plate.

While I can't speak to the atmosphere of the restaurant, I can say that their takeout is delicious and the employees have all been very friendly. We love their family takeout meal for two and their caesar salad is especially delicious. I also love that they will gladly do curbside pickup if you pay on the phone. Highly recommend their chicken parmesan and also their veggie pasta with pesto.

Restaurant came highly recommended. Truly disappointing experience. Wait staff extremely slow. Waited over a hour for apps. And that was after we asked. Food was ok......but for our first experience won't be back. Owner was present and even he couldn't come out to the table knowing how disappointed we were. We were with another couple and while them comped the app on our bill they did nothing to the other couples until they asked. If there was a zero rating that's what I would have chosen.

Embarrassing. Based on the reviews, I thought it would be safe to bring a bunch of Nonnas here. They were displeased and their complaints will echo into eternity. Calling this Italian is like calling a Subway panino authentic Italian fare. Unless you want to suffer the wrath of a small wooden spoon wielding army, I'd try serving Kraft dinner before bringing guests here again.

Rustico had come recommend by friends, and we were not disappointed. Love the interior decoration, entre portions were quite large and so flavourful. The macaroni and cheese with bacon, caramelized onions and mushrooms was devine. Service was excellent, prices were reasonable, we'll definitely make Rustico a regular dinner spot.

This is a little gem. I love coming into rustico for lunch with my co-workers. The menu is simple and delicious, the patio is welcoming and comfortable. The selection is perfect and the daily specials are mouth watering. The service is great and the staff are attentive. We are never disappointed with the experience at Rustico. My one star is for the friendly service, however everything else about this place was terrible. The food took over an hour to arrive to our table, and it was not worth the wait. The pasta was nothing special at all, I could’ve made better at home. It was missing any flavour to it like they completely forgot to add salt. The pizza was the worst I’ve had! When I picked it up, all the cheese and toppings would fall off from it, giving me a cardboard crust left to eat. It was not put together well, barely any toppings on it too. Extremely disappointed after reading the food reviews for this place. Very overpriced food for the type of food you get, not high quality at all. Will not be returning and do not recommend.

Only tried their pizzas so far and they are really good. You can tell the ingredients are good. I also don't get too bloated after unlike pizzas from other places. The only suggestion I have is to put less salt on the chicken topping as, the chicken on the pizza was incredibly salty and we had to chug a couple glasses of water after. Will definitely go back though!

I personally love this restaurant. Having gone with friends quite a few times, I've heard mixed reviews with some dishes being either amazing or just okay. I recently had the mushroom carbonara which was fantastic but my friends fettuccine alfredo was quite bland. I've also had the cacio e pepe on two separate occasions - the first time it was great but the second time it was just okay. Some inconsistency but overall I always enjoy the food.

My husband and I ate lunch here on Sunday. We have found our Italian place in K/W!!! We started out by splitting some appetizers. The Cesar salad was fantastic. Proper Cesar dressing and nicely dressed. The arancini was amazing, the marinara sauce had a tiny bit of heat to it. So tasty. I've never had Polenta before and I can't wait to have it again. The polenta fries were so nice and crispy on the outside and soooo soft inside. I usually don't use dipping sauces but the aioli was so good. We shared a margarita pizza, it reminded us of the pizza we had when we were in New York. Perfect crust, just the right amount of toppings and beautifully cooked. The service was amazing. Very attentive, helpful, friendly and laid back. We ate out on the beautiful patio surrounded by a pretty little garden. The bathrooms were immaculate. Thank you so much!! We can't wait to come back and try some other dishes on the menu!

Oh my goodness!!!! The food was the best ever!! I heard others say the same thing to the waitress. I had gnocchi with chicken and added spicy sausage. It also contained walnuts and arugula which I wasn’t so sure about, but it was an amazing combination! My daughter had gnocchi poutine with mushrooms and onions and loved that too. The dessert platter we shared was amazing. Unfortunately we didn’t think to take pictures of our food until dessert arrived. It was beautifully presented.

I highly recommend the Masala Chicken but really everything we ordered on the menu was great. My family really enjoyed the patio and we're excited to go back. The service was horrible. Sat us down right away but took 15 mins just to bring us water and take our drink order, then another 10 mins to bring us our drinks. Then 20 mins later they decided to take our order. Half hour later our food comes and my boyfriend enjoyed his chicken alfrado, but the spaghetti was subpar. No flavor, no spices. Thought this was Italian food, not a 5 min cooking spree with what I have left in my cupboards. There was about 5 other tables in this restruant, so I know they wernt busy. Then we waited 10 mins for someone to take our plates and give us our bill, we had to ask someone to get us our bill. Not worth the price in my opinion. The place is small but looks cute, good atmosphere otherwise.

First time here and it was really nice. The patio is absolutely adorable. I ordered the bolognese and had a small caesar salad. Salad was good, not enough cheese though and the pasta was really good too although on the saltier side. Amount of food is decent also. Delicious gnocchi!! We attended during Covid, so we were only able to sit on the patio but the food was very good and large in portion size! There was tons of beef in the braised beef gnocchi and equally as much (if not more) chicken in the chicken gnocchi. The ambiance and music is very charming and it felt very nice to eat here. The wait staff was friendly, it took a bit of time to get food but it is understandable during these times.

My 2 friends and I ate here on Friday. We were very excited to hit a patio after this long shutdown. The patio was beautiful! One of the best i have ever seen in town. The food was hot and tasty as expected. We had a pizza, crispy ravioli, calamari, and a burger. Very good food. Nothing but good things to say about each item. The new drink menu was also very nice. We had 2 or 3 drinks each off of it, and each one was better than the last. I personally recommend the ginger beer based drinks, my friend really liked his Manhattan. The service was fast, friendly, professional and very accommodating. Our server Lindsay kept our drinks full, and our table clear. I would highly recommend to anyone on a date, a business lunch/dinner, or looking to catch up with friends. Prices were fair for the value of the food and drink. 5☆

What an incredible little restaurant! The food is outstanding, everything on the menu looked delicious, so we'll be back to try some other options. The service in the place was top notch. We went with some friends who are regulars and everyone (including the owner) knew them and what their usual orders were. It was great to see. The restaurant itself has a cozy, rustic feel to it and really puts you at ease from the moment you walk in the door. I was also pleasantly surprised to find my favourite local musician (Juneyt) was playing there and plays there every Thursday. Honestly, I can't recommend this place enough. One visit and it's already our new favourite spot in KW!

My wife n I tried this place out tonight. Building and atmosphere is nice, we enjoyed the food...but it took wayy too long. We ordered and app and 2 entrees, wait staff quickly forgot one of the entrees (because they didn't write it down). App took 15 min to arrive. Pasta entree was probly 15 after that was cleared away and then close to another 20min for the pizza entree (we started considering it was forgotten all together). Was never asked how the food was, or to apologize for the wait. The food might be enough to consider returning... but I'm in no hurry to do so (like our service tonight).
