I'm sure the authentic cousine is good here, though I didnt indulge. I went for a classic chicken finger dinner. The fries were bland, the chicken fingers with overdone and just chicken fries. My boyfriend also got that and they gave me a larger portion than him. Wasnt crazy impressed.

J&B Restaurant lives up to the name as they are a perfect venue for a family event. I recently booked them for a lunch occasion. The staff were great and accommodating. Shout out to Monica and the rest of the staff. My guests were also comfortable. The food recommendations by Joe was great and enjoyed by all, special mention of the Chicken Schnitzel and Pasta (with white sauce). Glad to have found an amazing food restaurant in the area and looking forward to join their group of regulars at the restaurant.

Had a great meal, the service was fantastic and the atmosphere nice. Menu selection had pretty much all of the food groups, if you are looking for an inexpensive homemade meal, this is the place for you. We chose this venue due to it's rating and proximity to our destination. Food was fabulous and reasonably priced. We ordered Boem and Nature schnitzels, Chevaps, Ceasar Salad, Chicken Shish Kebabs, and desert. Everything was excellent, especially the crepes, which were to die for. We will return and I recommend them.

There was 15 of us for lunch on a Sunday to celebrate our mother/grandma’s birthday. Monica our server was fantastic. She made us feel welcome and with everyone paying different bills she was pleasant and professional. Our food was delivered quickly and between Monica and the chef everything was perfect! The food was delicious and most of the people in the group have never been to J and B before but look forward to coming back. Hats off to the chef! The portions were a good size, food was hot and prices very reasonable. The atmosphere was cozy and comfortable. Thank you again for making us feel welcome!

My boyfriend and I came here for his birthday. We shared a meat platter and it was ABSOLUTELY DELICIOUS. There was so much food, we had enough for lunch for the next day. Not to mention I think they gave us a lemon cake for free for his birthday. The staff are super friendly, and the quality of the food was very worth the price. I'd love to come back here.

Stopped by on Saturday for a schnitzel lunch. We did not have very high expectation when we saw the restaurant from outside. However, when we stepped inside I was quite impressed by its nice decorations and ambiance. The schnitzel was in big portion and taste very good, plus it is priced reasonably.

I needed a quiet place with handicap access that could seat 10 with a wide variety requests. A storm meant some didn't show up and some were late. We also had a very tight schedule. The staff was friendly, accomodated all our special requests ( smaller portions, take out for those that couldn't make it and a rush for those that were late) as if it were a pleasure to meet our requests. 5 stars. The food was delicious with more than generous portions. 5 stars. The bill was incredibly reasonable. The atmosphere was perfect. My co-worker and myself wanted a quick and tasty lunch, only had a short time and wanted to support local, family style restaurant that may not have as much business due to the past few months of the virus. We were pleasantly surprised and delighted, not only with the amazing service, but the food was delicious! Nothing fancy, fish and chips, but we also ordered a take out for our Doctor for his lunch, and he said it was very tasty. Good choice we made. We will definitely eat here again, as well give out some recommendations to our friends and patients to try this restaurant. Thank you for reminding us that we had to get back to the office by 12:00 at 11:50. Little extra service!

The staff are very friendly and accommodating, and the food is absolutely delicious! It has a lovely "home cooked" taste that isn't always found in restaurants. The overall atmosphere also feels extremely welcoming. One particular evening we ate here they were short-staffed and it was busy, so the wait was understandably a little bit longer than usual. While we assured staff members that this was not an issue, we were given a free serving of baklava as a thank you for our patience. This was not necessary, however it was incredibly kind and shows how much the owners care about their customers dining experience!

Visited this restaurant during lunch with coworkers to celebrate the end of an ongoing project at work, and we had the most delectable experience here. The schnitzel is perfectly cooked and the portions are PLENTY for 1 person. I normally scarf down an entire schnitzel plate on my own, but had to take home half for later. The server (I forget her name, sorry!) who is also the owner was accommodating, friendly and took her job very seriously, I have to say that it definitely shows. There is very little parking in the area just outside the restaurant, so we either park across the street at the plaza on 70 Victoria, or park in behind the restaurant on Heit Lane if the front is full. Will be back soon!

Just had our first meal here and we absolutely loved it. We had chicken schnitzel, spaghetti and goulash. The kids loved their meals and I really enjoyed my goulash and their left overs because the portions are huge! Will be back and hope to dine in soon!

Ordered take out for dinner, had the gypsy schnitzel with mashed potato and chicken Parmesan. HUGE delicious portions. The breading on the schnitzel was crispy and flavourful!! First time eating here and I would recommend. The reason I gave 4 stars instead of 5, is when we picked it up, there were no gloves or masks and it seemed no extra precautions were being made as far as we could see.

Very good schnitzel and large portions. Have never had a bad meal and will always come back. First time doing take out and was worried that it might get soggy, but it was fantastic as usual. The website needs to be updated for the pricing though, as the prices have gone up and do not match the actual restaurant menu.

When in Kitchener during Oktoberfest must do as the locals do. We were here for the Canadian National Clogging Convention. Quick look around where we were staying for the weekend and we stumbled upon J & B. Easily made a reservation, friendly on the phone. Nice size, comfortable table for 4 of us. Super friendly and helpful server, absolutely no problem substituting foods for anyone with a modified diet. Large portions for really great prices and the vegetables tasted fresh, not made from frozen. Highly recommend trying out the wonderful family restaurant. Will be back next we are in Kitchener.

We started with shopska salad, mixed grill platter for 2 with homestyle fried potatoes for an entree and finished with palachinke and baklava. The platter for 2 could easily feed 4 people. Also included was a basket of bread, homemade tartar sauce, and chopped red onion. The food was flavourful.

Went here just a few days ago for the first time and I was pleasantly surprised by the cozy atmosphere. Our server was also very nice. I ordered a schnitzel with sauerkraut, which was really tasty! However, I am sad to say that everything else (such as sides) were pretty underwhelming... The food, and my experience was not terrible by any means! However I am not in a hurry to go back. This is a decent option for somewhere to go in Kitchener on Sundays when pretty much everything else is closed!

Ordered a special fresh salad and and the salmon. The portions are very large. The appetizer salad is definitely good for two to share. The main was very tasty. I'd come back to try their schnitzel. Was a nice dining experience overall. Very close to the train station as well, if you want a meal before a trip or are just coming into town. Patio was closed, but it looked nice, and would likely be a nice place in the summer time.

Absolutely loved this place, its the size of a postage stamp but inside it is very beautiful and well decorated, we had 4 different dishes 3 different kinds of schnitzel and the trout and everyone scrapped there plates off, great service low prices and authentic Serbian food, maybe a little bit of german too lol. Highly recomended place. Easy to order especially during covid, They make it ready and you arrange time for pick up and you are golden. In my experience and ordered many times, best value is MIXED PLATTER FOR 2 but in reality it is for two super hugry guys taht can eat to of food. It will easy feed family of 4 and have leftovers for later!!. i highly recommend to get one or two Serbian LEPINJA WITH KAYMAK, (pita bread loaded with serbian creeme cheese). They are served hot and cut in 4 pieces. It is really hidden gem and need support so we can always have it. Great A++ alternative to pizza, burgers, shawarma, mandarin etc. oh yes they make really good SHopska salad, Tomato, cucumber, green onion, peppers topped with greek feta cheese. You need to get that to to make it a full circle.

Great experience at a place that has been around for the past 16 years I believe. The atmosphere is very cozy and great for families and a night out if you are looking for comfort food. We had the chicken schnitzel and the fish and chips are both were very good and generous portions. Service was also great and the lady was very friendly. I don't know what the J & B Stands for. But it could easily be for just fits on your plate and Belly full.This is one of best Schnitzel restaurants in town and definitely the best if your talking Serbian cuisine. If you are unsure what you like try there sampler platter You will glad you did. I love there stuffed schnitzel a Karadordes type named after some big deal prince.in Serbia. It is rolled with veal or pork and stuffed with Kajmak a yummy Bulgarian feta cheese sauce .Of course this is only a guess. The chef says it's a secret .But nobody makes it as tasty as this place. They have a sit up bar if you just want that pub style atmosphere .Nice treat from the same old same old.

My wife and I visited J&B Family restaurant for the first time this evening and we both had a fantastic meal, my wife said her ribs very flavorful and done to perfection, I had the karadjordjeva schnitzel which was suggested by our server and it was absolutely delicious. We received outstanding service and our server was very engaging and friendly. We will definitely be returning !! Given how dated the restaurant is the food was surprisingly good. We had intense lighting shining right down on the booth and they had no way to turn it down. We eventually stood on a chair to point the bulb away. So the food and the prices were actually quite good but the place has exposed extension cords with portable fans and such so if you are not fussy on atmosphere I would recommend them. That said I would not bring a date there. Kudos for at least reasonable priced wine.

Good service, family operated feels, and unique Serbian dishes on offer. Prices will range from $15-18 for most entrees of varying portion sizes (some quite large if considering the sides). Choices of sides are varied, including salads, french fries, home potatoes, sauerkraut, steamed/boiled (?) vegetables (long beans), and rice. Also "gypsy rice" which is served as rice with a tomato sauce over it. The sides are nothing terribly interesting or outstanding, so it's the mains that you'll be looking forward to. The majority of the schnitzel are impressive enough, but my group made the mistake of ordering many J&B "Schnitzel". By definition, we expected a schnitzel to be a thing piece of meat, breaded. What we got were four little sausages that had a cheese filling, wrapped in bacon. They were alright, but it was misleading and disappointing for many of us. Unfortunately I did not get a picture of the Holstein Schnitzel, which was quite impressive. It was a toss-up between 3 and 4 stars, but ultimately the price of the meal for the experience and quality you get are not convincing considering other euro-style options nearby. Could recommend if looking specifically for Serbian specialties as a novelty, but wouldn't see myself frequenting.

Booked reservations for a Friday night, I recommended. The place was hopping. After everyone arrived, had some drinks, we ordered some stuff to share as well as some apps plus mains, oh and dessert. Food came quickly even though they were busy and staff was very friendly. After sharing the early stuff I had the goulash and the holstein schnitzel. Goulash was very hearty, ample and flavorful. The schnitzel very tasty as well. Some of our guests had dessert but I was way too stuffed. A great family run restaurant with amazing food.

Excellent service and delicious food????????

Service from our waitress was great, and the dining area was nice and clean. The prices were really good too, $20 per person after tax and tip for dinner, but the food was pretty average, my mashed potatoes were room temperature, veggies were really soft and the schnitzel with the mushroom sauce was flavorful but pretty tough. Great place if you're eating on a dime, but you get what you pay for.

Nice family run joint. Had the schnitzel. Superb. Homemade sauerkraut, mashed potatoes and cabbage are all delicious. Could use better beer and wine selection.

We stumbled on to this little restaurant and was delighted to discover that it's a very authentic local eating experience. I presume the owners are Serbian as there are many very unique Serbian dishes. There is also a good schnitzel list and pastas. I had chevaps (ground meat links). My friend had a Serbian stuffed hamburger and my daughter had chicken skewers. All dishes were very nicely done. Portions are plentiful while prices were modest. Side dishes and condiments were also unique. We were the only ones at lunch on a Wednesday. Keeping fingers crossed that they get enough business at other times to keep going. It would be a shame if they didn't.
