Such a shame this restaurant moved location. Since then, it's gone downhill rapidly. The old 'diner' charm is gone and with it all the customer care. One more chance to redeem itself in my eyes, but that's it.....and I'm sad to say that after eating at the old location monthly for 6 years.

Family restaurant - amazing spot to go and have a calm, charming, meal with friends. Staff are very friendly, you can get a drink of you would like (they have a mini bar where somebody mixes drinks) or just go by yourself for a nice cup of hot chocolate and a ceaser salad. Have the authentic breakfast with home fries and reasonable prices or you can grab some supper & have roast beef/mash potatoes and veggies. Recommend if you have a family member coming to town and want to take them out %100

Went here all the time with my partner and roommate when I lived in KW. The food is good and portions are huge for the price. We'd split a meal most of the time because the servings were so big! Angel's has a lot of vegetarian and gluten free options too for friends with dietary restrictions, and they were great about making accommodations. Tip: get the Waterloo radler on tap! It's delicious.

Our server Kelly seemed to be in a rotten mood and also failed to provide basic service such as drink refills and checking on our satisfaction throughout our meal (which i think should be expected by anybody!) We were kind of just left alone for the majority of our meal. Also, the fact that they charge an extra $2.00 for real maple syrup is a little strange as we live in Canada...

This is possibly the worst restaurant I have ever been to in my life I got a cold Burger and asked to talk to the manager I asked if I could pay for what i ate and not the burger because it was gross and she refused because I already took a bight out of the burger she also got aggressive with me by aggressive grabbing me by the arm and not letting me leave after I payed. Worlds worst customer service and don"t treat people the way they should be.

I've gone here in the past for breakfast but this time I went for dinner. Portions were great especially for the kids. I had the Greek burger and it was delicious. Stopped by angels restaurant to grab a bite to eat after my echocardiogram I ordered the Jimmy Dean burger and fries absolutely delicious fries were piping hot and the burger was seasoned perfectly will definitely come back to try other items ????

Placed and Prepayed order for pickup, arrived over 30mins later to pick up, food was not made, boss/head chef says never he never recieved a payment, RBC app says it went through. Refused to refund my money and told me i had to go to the bank and get a statement "online banking apps isnt proof of payment" when it clearly shows went through. I definitely do not recommend this restaurant. Staff aren’t knowledgeable at all. They do not know the Johnson & Johnson vaccine requires only one dose therefore they didn’t let us dine in because we only have “one dose” of that vaccine. So dumb!! ONE DOSE is only required for the Johnson & Johnson vaccine. Please hire staff that know what they’re doing & know their facts.

Wanted to treat myself to a big breakfast this morning so i stopped here. Everyone was so friendly and happy. My food came out surprisingly fast and the quality was still good. More than one server checked up on me multiple times. I could tell the regular customers keep coming back for good reason and i loved the respect that the servers gave towards the elderly ones. Great experience. Thanks for the good start to my day :)

Want a great smoked meat sandwich??? This "used to be" the place to go. I have been there several times over the years and always walked away full and satisfied. Things have changed...smallest sandwich I have had anywhere and like warm fries. My daughter had a club that was dry came with the same like warm fries. Should have taken my hint from the couple beside us that asked the waitress "have they changed the Chef...this isn't a good as we remember it?" I will stick the Fireside on Ottawa...they make an incredible smoked meat sandwich and give you lots of meat....the way it should be. After many years of going to Angel's I will save my money for a restaurant who still gives you value.

Jumbo smoked meat sanwich is now much smaller than it used to be. It is still good, but has no more meat than bread. Coleslaw, fries and gravy, dill pickle and service are all very good. Other meals seem yo be same portions as before, and the restaurant is very popular and contains good atmosphere.

Angels has great consistency in their food. I really like the weekend southwestern eggs Benedict. Most servers are great with a couple exceptions. Edit to add: lowered my rating - what are your hours? A couple times recently I've tried to visit and it was unexpectedly closed. Not fun.

I've always been impressed going there..until today as I was enjoying my favorite thing there that I always order I chewed into some egg shells. And there were a lot not just a tiny piece. I told the waitress and she took the plate away. I tried to finish my fruit but had no more appetite. Instead of refunding me my meal on the bill they made me pay the whole thing and gave me a gift certificate that didn't even cover the cost of my meal. I called the manager out on this and she wrote me another one for 17$ for next time but I doubt there will be a next time.

This restaurant is a great place for families and anyone who wants good unpretentious food at a great price. The decor is warm and inviting. The staff are curtious and efficient. awful, I had gone there for lunch, ordered a Benny with Pemeal with it, which is an extra charge. I ate about 2 bites and realized the meat was rancid. tasted horrible. my boyfriend tried it as well and said it was rotten (he will eat anything). I ate most of the rest of my meal but left the meat and let the waitress know. she came back from the kitchen and said the cooks tried it and said there was nothing wrong with it. Charged me full price and was snotty. i ended up with food poisoning later that day. will NEVER go back

OMG, Great fries! Went in for a late lunch. We ordered pancakes, chocolate chip and chocolate chip raspberry and thought we'd indulge in some fries while we waited. The fries were sooooo good. Hot, crisp, lightly salted, perfectly cooked. Amazing. The pancake meal was also very good and was really to much to eat in one sitting. The service was decent. It seemed there was some drama going on as there was lots of background hostility between co-workers that we could overhear. Not too relaxing. We will be back. The food is always fresh and tasty.

Fast and friendly service. Good quality food, I recommend the south west bennie. It's very popular but a bit crowded. Tough to navigate between tables in a wheelchair. Kid friendly but we were a bit uncomfortable with our two year old in the booster seat in a booth, in hindsight we should have asked for a high chair. Completely dissatisfied with the food that came from Angel's this evening. We had previously tried the Angel's location in Cambridge and were pleased! The kitchener location however had left lots to be desired. I ordered the chicken quesadilla for take out from the appetizer menu. It was completely flavorless, had absolutely no colour, and was soggy and slimy to feel. Even my boyfriend who will eat literally anything would not touch it! What a waste of time and money. Perhaps it was poor quality because of the dinner rush, or because it was ordered for take out, but regardless I am embarrassed for the restaurant that they chose to release something so revolting from their kitchen. Would not recommend this restaurant and certainly not this dish to my worst enemy. 0/5 stars.

I really miss the old Angels Diner on Highland. I don't know what happened, or why they moved but I'm really disappointed they did. I went in there for lunch recently and I had the worst experience. I walked in, and no one was there to greet me, so I went and sat myself. I ordered everything and It was okay, I really noticed that the prices went up a pretty decent amount from the last time I visited. When I got my food, I swear I almost walked out. I have ordered the chicken tenders for years and they were easily 5in back when I used to go; and now I go in and the chicken tenders were more like nuggets. They were easily 2in long, and there was little to no breading on. That was my favorite part of the tenders, and now it was completely ripped out from under me. The fries were also pretty underwhelming as well. You took one bite and it was like grease central - no fry goodness at all. Waste. I was really disappointed and I know I won't be coming back unless the food gets better.

Came by for lunch. Ordered the lunch omelette special with no potatoes, waitress say she can’t order it like that. I asked are they mixed in the omelette? She said no you can’t modify the lunch special, seriously, I thought she was messing with me but as it turns out she wasn’t. So I ask for the manager, manager comes over and explains the price is the price and the dish comes as is, I said I don’t want to modify just leave off the potatoes please. That’s a modification. I said really you’re going to give me less and I’m ok with the price? You’re going to throw out food I won’t eat cause I didn’t want it? Yup, he says how about we call it an allergy and leave it off?? I said you just lost a customer for being ridiculous. ok so I lost a customer he says, smiles and walks away. I find out after it was the owner that was giving such great customer service. The waitress was great and friendly and apologized.

I've been to Angel's several times and the service is always quick and friendly. However, I find a lot of the meals rather bland. They're also not consistent - it's likely different chefs, however the meals should taste the same regardless of which cook is making it. I've also received under cooked fries and the rose sauce was terrible. They're good for breakfast. The restaurant is often quite busy and a lot of people seem to enjoy it, but it's not for me. I end up less and less impressed each time.

Not accommodating, I tried to substitute bacon for peppers and onions (which is on the menu so they don't have extra prep to make it) and they wanted to charge $2.70 extra. Tried to get meat on the side and they refused but would allow me to get no meat, but wouldn't reduce the price for no meat. Service was great, food didn't take long to come after ordering. French toast was great, mexican omlette left a lot to be desired.

Let me start be saying that I'm really disappointed and sad that I have to do this review. Angels had always been a favorite of mine. Had breakfast there today and they were a little busier than I've normally seen them. Got seated pretty quickly, none the less. We ordered our food at the same time as our drinks. Everything came in a timely matter. I always get the eggs bennidict and did today as well. The hollandaise sauce was super runny. It's never been like that (sad day). 2/3 of the way through our meal the waitress brings our bill and lays it on the table while stating "You guys probably aren't ready for it but..." and walks away. She didn't ask of we wanted anything else or anything. What if we were gonna order more? Fast forward. When I was nearly done eating, the waitress stops at our table again and asks if she can bring me a to go container for the food I was actively eating. Like, my mouth was full when I told her no. Anyway, I lost my appetite and we paid and left. We were only there for 30ish min. I get they were busy, but it's really crappy customer service when you're practically asking a paying customer to leave. The service was bad, the food was bad, and the prices went up. Sadly, I won't be back. I'll try and remember the good times.

Amazing experience and fantastic all day breakfast. Very small line up. We were seated in 10 minutes. Although they are a huge restraunt our order was taken promptly. The staff was crazy efficient and very pleasant. The best part was the amazing coffee, great portion and fantasticly cooked eggs! I have never, ever had a egg cooked wrong here and we are regulars. Poached eggs with halendaise sauce is cooked to perfection. Omeletts are fluffy with fresh ingredients a wonderful portion of cheese. I choose the over easy today and my hubby choose his favorite french toast with fresh strawberries and fresh whipped cream! We had to share with each other. He dove into my perfectly cooked maple bacon and home fries, I tasted his perfectly good, not too sweet, hot cinnamon toast. They hit it out of the ball park today!

I have been going to Angels for a number of years usually a couple of times a month and usually where I live in Guelph.This is the first time I have been to this one and I won't be back! This was the worse experience I have had in a restaurant in a very long time. I wanted no eggs and a few extra home fries and was told the kitchen manager refuses to do any substitutions! OK? And I had to pay 2.00 more if I wanted it that way- then she came back and said the kitchen manager refuses to give u extra potato instead of eggs so you will be charged the regular price! Umm. .OK? Then my friends ham tasted "off" so she told the waitress and she took it back to the kitchen - she then came back saying that the manager had tasted it and there was nothing wrong with it and no matter what they do it will taste the same - ummm...OK? So my friend says well I dont want to get sick so how about changing the ham for bacon and the waitress says"No sorry he won't substitute " really? Instead of being apologetic or even trying to remedy the situation the waitress was combative even after I told her it was not her fault and that she had been wonderful! She then informed us that she was very proud of where she worked had been there 6 months and nobody had ever sent the food back - this was the 1st time and we had ruined her day? Wow! After some conversation about the reviews on here with the lady that said she got food poisoning she proceeded to tell us that she knew the lady and had in fact served her that day- OK? . But didn't you just tell us you never had anyone send food back? We are both business owners in customer service and I am actually quiet shocked that the manager never made appearance but more shocking was when leaving we could over hear the entire kitchen staff actually talking about the situation :( BTW - I have never wrote a bad review before and it has been over 10 years since I have felt it necessary to complain at any establishment!

My friend goes there but I'm a vegetarian so I ask if instead of meat they gave me spinach and cheese or something like that and all she wanted to give me is tomato, the waitress was friendly but I didn't have the meal I wanted because she said " just have the classic it doesn't have meat" I didn't have what I wanted so I wasn't happy and my friend still tipped her around $6 or $7. What's the purpose of asking for something when they tell you have that! Rather have my husband cook he's a chef at the University of Guelph ????

Pros: Good portions and friendly staff. Cons: long wait time and the food took quite a while to come. During this time, we were given no update of our food's status, and (of no fault of hers) our waitress was too busy to attend to us for an explanation. It's a family restaurant, and perhaps it was just a busy day for orders, which is understandable. The atmosphere is welcoming and the inside noise rests at a casual level.

Sitting here for over 5 mins and we have not been asked for drinks or even looked at... 8 mins later go by and another couple is seated and immediately gets served. Melissa, the young blonde waitress who was to be our waitress was too busy yapping with her friends at another table. I got up and went to the kitchen to get someone else when she finally decided to come over. She's sweet, but needs a bit more retraining to make her a great waitress. Yes it's just a job, but you chose it and you need to do it to the best of your ability. Sorry hun, but no tip for you

Jane Bond is definitely a place you want to experience. The decor is amazing with stone walls and floors, eclectic tables and chairs and a small patio out the back, a little reminiscent of a european garden pub. There was a good mix of people. A business meeting was happening to my left and a group of youngish people to my right, eating some delicious looking food! The service was spot on. We stopped in for a drink before a movie at The Princess Theatre. Our waiter was prompt and friendly. Our water was refilled without asking and our bill came promptly. The price of the wine was reasonable. I will be going back for sure.

They have wifi but just won’t share it. Not very good for tourists or out of office workers. Even the most basic restaurants have a patron wifi. I was waiting for my wife who was having a Dr’s appointment next door and I needed to take some medication in the meantime while I wait for her :30min. We were to have breakfast upon her arrival. My medication requires it to be taken with food. I asked since I will be ordering breakfast soon could I just have my toast ahead of time. I was told absolutely not, Steve the owner will not accommodate that. Then I asked if I could put our order in as my wife texted she was done and heading over and I was told absolutely not until she was present. Just so everyone is clear. There are rules here. Now to the important stuff. Service was efficient. Great. Food was great too. 3 stars for the other unnecessary stuff.

A friend and I went for dinner tonight. On the menu there is a seniors section (specifies 60+), and a lil Angels section (no age specified). I have had gastric bypass surgery, so I can't eat much. I asked if they had a 1 piece fish and chips, they said no. I asked if I could order from The Lil Angels section, nope, too old, and it comes with ice cream and a drink. I said I didn't need those, just didn't want to waste a lot of food. Manager wouldn't budge, and was kinda rude and short. I ended up ordering the pierogies (no flavour). My friend had the Cattlemen's burger and said it was great.

The staff is wonderful and kind! You feel like you're at home if you go enough that they recognize you. I have been going to Angel's since I was a kid so some of the staff have watched me grow. They are all so sweet. And the food always tastes so good!! They presentation is lovely and the atmosphere is perfect. It's perfect for a date spot or for a family.

Tried out the new location today and was disappointed overall. Waitress didn't come around to ask for drinks or appetizers until we had our menus closed. We were told she didn't think she could substitute french fries for a salad, and my Mom with seafood allergies was limited to very few items on the menu. Potato skins arrived absolutely cold to the touch. For entree I got the reuben sandwich and for some odd reason the rye bread of the sandwich was placed one slice length wise and one slice width wise, making the sandwich nearly impossible to hold, I ended up eating 50% of the meat with a fork off my plate. Sandwich bread was also buttered, for some reason, to the point I couldn't even taste the sauerkraut or swiss cheese on it. Coleslaw: dry, Fries: over seasoned. I could go on. By the way you're my first google review, congratulations.

I have been going to angels for about 10 years now. At first, I was a bit bothered by their choice to no longer have the 50s diner look, but the new atmosphere is actually really great! We love the food, and have never had a problem with service, staff, or meals! It can be a bit crouded in there, especially at brunch on sundays, but it's totally worth the reservation for sunday brunch, or just a pop in anytime!

We are morning regulars at angels diner kitchener my sister and I went for supper. The server accidently gave my sister bacon and sausage. She comes back says the sausage doesn't come with your meal takes it my sister says your not going to give it to someone else. Concerned about health and Safety.She says no we are going to throw it away. I have never seen a restaurant do that. Well the 30 people Christmas dinner we were going to have there wont be there now. I will now only go in the morning when the staff is normal. I asked who the evening manager was turns out she was shift supervisor. I left her a five cent tip.

This is one of our favourite restaurants. We go to Angels since they had location o Highland road. There are few of them around and doesn't matter to which one you go, food is always good and plenty. My favorites are chicken souvlaki and Ruben sandwich. Portions are so big, so unless you are really hungry, big chances you will not be able to finish your meal to the end.

Horrible. Work at a Doctors office that is located in the same parking lot. Always order over $100.00 worth of food for lunch. Every time we call at 10:00am for an 11:45am pick up, always get rude customer service on the phone. "Well it's not lunch time yet, call back after 11:00am" Um no I work at a busy clinic I would like to place my order now not later! Also don't every try to add something to your order or anything on the side, you will get "um we don't do that" Like you can't add pickles to a veggie wrap? Or you can't upgrade a side to a Caesar, you will be charged full price for the Caesar instead of the extra $2.00 to upgrade!! This is a joke. Will stop ordering from them. Go to Red Ginger, they will do anything for you!!!!

I typically aways go for breakfast here, and bring my little one. They're always willing to give us an extra plate to share a breakfast (as toddlers typically waste half the food on their plate). Bathroom facilities are adequate and the place is the usual Angels decor. The floor is always greasy and needs to be cleaned very badly as it is slippery and has been for years.

I attended this diner this past weekend with my husband before heading back to Mississauga where I live. The service here was undoubtedly the worst I've ever come across. The waitress(whom we were informed has worked there 12 years) was sarcastically offensive and did not put us, the customers as a priority. My husband and I are both vegetarian. We tried ordering the eggs benedict special but without the ham. We were told that "you're not allowed to change anything on the specials menu". Despite our disappointment we then asked for the regular eggs benny that came with spinach and cream cheese. We asked to just have the spinach and no cheese. We were then told "no the spinach and the cheese come mixed together and you can't have it separate." We asked if we could order mushrooms or something on the side to make the meal more enticing and were told "no, we don't offer that here." She offered us a tomato slice and was sure to joke "but it's going to be cold is that okay?" Then laughed and said "wow you're really settling here huh." Truthfully the service was distasteful and dissatisfying on every regard. Come on, it's 2018. There are more intolerances, allergies and disgestive diseases prevelant than ever before. A diner who is seeking to make money and please the customers should offer secondary choices than what's registered on the menu. I will literally never attend this restaurant ever again in my life and I highly recommend you don't either!!

I went for the first time on Sunday and got the Benedict Sautée. It was amazing!! The food has actual flavour! It's not a typical greasy spoon because it's not overloaded with cheese and all things deep fried. And when they say "fruit boat" they deliver! Cannot wait to go back!
