Great service, better patio! Lovely atmosphere! Will go back again for sure!
Good and tasty food with good selection of beers and drinks. Location intesting both indoor and outdoor. Staff very kind and efficient
Great food, beer and service.
Everyone's meals were cold or undercooked.
Solid pub food. Great beer selection and large dance floor in the main room. All in all a fun place that caters to all tastes.
Its crazy during st Patty's day. Get there really early
Staff was incredibly rude. Would rate lower if I could as far as customer service goes. Will not be returning. Update: Restaurant called and addressed the issue. I really appreciated the phone call. There aren't many places of business that have this kind of integrity. Thanks so much!
Found this spot online for a quick stop for lunch and was very impressed with how delicious the food was. Had the shepherds pie special and it was excellent! Will definitely stop by again if I'm ever in Kingston!
Amazing kareoke night thursdays
Irish atmosphere and such good food. Try the fish and chips.
Had the stacked Reuben sandwich OMG best sandwich I've ever had. Clean, quiet, staff were friendly and attentive. Will definitely go back.
Great times, Kareokee is a blast after 6 beers to. ;).
Great staff and atmosphere!
The bar tenders were AWESOME. Very friendly and so accommodating. Amazing place.
Fantastic atmosphere.
The staff is awesome. The food is great. The atmosphere couldn't be any better. Once again......the staff is awesome. You won't be disappointed.
Great atmosphere and very polite wait staff. Great recommendations on drinks. Food portions are large and well made. We had a wonderful time.
LOVE LOVE LOVE this place. Great drinks, awesome food, & having Irish themed times with the dancers and bands is brilliant.
Went for a cheeky last round before calling it a night & ended up closing the place down! Outstanding service & friendly staff. They even gave us access to a microphone so we could karaoke until our hearts were content. Unforgettable night - thank you!!!
Did not have a great experience. Came as a group of four for dinner and drinks. Took about 20 minutes to get our drinks. A table of eleven sat down after we arrived and server took their food orders before our. Had to go else where for food or we would have been there all night judging by how slow the service was even before this big group put their order in. Very disappointed with this experience.
Amazing food, decor, ambiance and to top it off the server knew her beer???? she was able to help us decide on local craft beers. Good job!
Took ages to get the attention of the bar staff even though they weren't serving other people either. Then they shortchanged me by $5 on an already $8 drink and disappeared again before I could question it. Karaoke sound was bad and there was no way to find out what music was available other than guessing and luck. This place wouldn't have been *that* bad either except for the part where it's Kingston and there are lots of good bars, so this one rather stood out.
We love eating here when we come to Kingston. The menu offers a large selection & the service is quick. The servers are polite & friendly!
Large patio, dedicated staff. Same food and drinks served at Tir na Nog, Speckled Hen, and Montee's. Mostly irish-pub style food; my favourites are the burgers. Quite large portions. Well made drinks; my favourites are the shooters. Used to work here, so I can't objectively comment on the friendliness of the staff, but I find them all genuine, kind, hard-working and detail oriented. ♡ 4 stars cause I can't make too objective a review, being part of the staff.
Atmosphere was nice. Fish and chips were over cooked, the fish batter was very hard/almost burnt.
Good food in a traditional pub atmosphere. Waterfront is right across the street
After narrowly avoiding indoctrination into a cult up the road; my girlfriend and I sought refuge here at the nog. The service here is incredible and full of valuable information. I felt welcomed the second I sat down and was instantly engaged in interesting conversation via our bartender Christina. As tourists establishments like this are great to make you feel comfortable.
Good service and I personally love the waffle fries here.
We enjoyed the atmosphere as it is a semi authentic Celtic pub, we felt ignored by our waitress. We we're two Dad's accompanied by our two ten year old sons that had played in a hockey tournament that day. We had a reservation for 730, and ordered standard pub fair ( both kids had exactly the same entre...mild wings, with a side basket of fries to split), yet it took an hour a day a half for us to get our food. An hour and a half for wings n fries? I ordered fish n chips. Our kids having played two hockey games that day, were literally laying their heads down on the table. I feel as though my friend and are understanding, tolerant individuals so we made the best of an "awkward" would be the best word to describe our situation as possible, with some mild adult conversation. Finally after seeing a couple who had come in much later than we had, receive their meals before us, I decided to inquire about our order. Within 10 minutes we had our food. The food was ok, and the Management did compensate us for the "delay" but come on. An hour and a half for wings and fish n chips. I don't care how busy you are...that's just sloppy. You get a one star Tir nan og.
Whoever does the bartending definitely knows what they are doing. However- service is pretty average to below average and the food lately has been less than stellar. For example: I recently attended Jazz night at Monte's with my girlfriend- she ordered a pot pie and I went for the Shephard's Pie with salad. Her potatoes were incredibly dry (and my shephard's pie looked a little shriveled) and we had to spend 10 minutes walking around and waiting at the bar for the server to appear (who appeared to have had his hands full with tending the entire area by himself- no support from staff that we could see (kudos to him in that regard- I know how tough that is). He came over with gravy to fix the problem 10 minutes later. When I moved on to the salad , I noticed they didn't give me any dressing- so I then spent another 5-10 minutes waiting at the bar to ask him for it. He then came over and apologized. Later on that same evening as we were leaving, the server came out offended we didn't give a full tip. We explained to him our problem wasn't necessarily with him but really the food.
*Edit* Since this incident, the manager has gotten in touch and apologized for the bad experience.I have been promised compensation for what happened. We appreciate the concern over over our experience and are thankful that we got a response. I am going to leave the original review below but I'll edit the stars to reflect my thoughts on the good customer service ???? I don't know how you can mess up fish and chips, but somehow they managed it. Greasy and soggy fish that tasted like aluminum foil and bland, unseasoned fries. Worst thing I've ever eaten at a restaurant. Not worth the price or even quarter the price. Cheesecake was decent though.
Good food
Great place to stop for a Guinness????
Edit: the manager of the restaurant reached out me, and worked hard to ensure a positive outcome. I appreciated the wonderful customer service, and all the effort taken to ensure a positive outcome. My sisters and I ordered meals from Tir Nan Og through DoorDash. Two of us got the fish and chips, and the other got a burger. We also got two slices of cheesecake and an order of mini Yorkshire puddings. When the food arrived, most of it was lukewarm, which isn’t necessarily unexpected with delivery. However, my sister had asked for a side of fries with her burger and did not receive one. The fish was mushy and very greasy, and the fries bland and under seasoned. The burger was subpar. The puddings were tasty but cold, and the cheesecake decent. The food was not anywhere near worth the price however and I will not be ordering again.
Fairly expensive.
Lots of live music here!
The wings were deliicious and so was the curry. Can't wait to go back! Thanks Sierra for the friendly smile and awesome service!!
Nice place to hang out with friends. Super friendly staff.
This was a great place for st.patricks day! The Celtic kitchen party was there!!!
Service was good, really friendly staff, nice atmosphere, decent prices. I can't really say anything overly positive about the food though, it was just okay. A bit bland, the fries were all small little nibs and in small portion. I'm sure it's a great place to come have a couple drinks, but I wouldn't be incredibly excited to come back.
If you like karaoke, Thursday night is your night! Have couple of drinks with your friends, listen to other people sing and you should get on the stage and sing! Fun!
Portion size were not good for price. Quality was average.
Tir Nag Og is Irish pub but the don't Irish music there
There are 3 different bar areas and a patio, each with a different look and feel. The staff is always friendly.
Visited for dinner with friends. Was wonderful! Good food and excellent service. Was pretty busy and meals took a while but no complaints. Also, it was our server's first day back and she did a wonderful job, pass on our conplememts!
From the moment we called and spoke to Richard (having just left an awful scenario at another Kingston restaurant) to the attentive service from William and follow up from Richard this traditional location knows how to make your first or your returning visit(s) to Kingston a warm and inviting experience. Thank you gentlemen. We will see you again!
Great Live Music every Friday and Saturday night. Karaoke on Thursdays is a party and a half.
My fiancé and I stopped in here twice during our short stay in Kingston. Our waiters were fantastic and the manager was very nice and came over to check on us and ask how our service was. All of the food that we had here both days was really good! The Dublin street sandwich was perfect after a long week of eating out and was super fresh and delicious. The strawberry rhubarb mule was amazing as well! We will definitely be back!
Love it hear. Kareoke is a blast.
Went there on Friday night, September 18th, with my wife and some relatives from out of town. The band, and I use the term loosely wouldn't know talent if it hit them in the face. Some guy up rapping that sounded like a dog had been hit by a car. This in an Irish Bar, mind you. Final straw, went to the men's room and there are two guys in the stall together, either doing the George Michael, or something which I really didn't care to find out. I left and asked to speak to the manager. I was greeted by a woman who couldn't have been a day over 25. I knew right away my complaint was going nowhere. The doorman, who I believe knew one of the guys in the stall wasn't more than three feet away during my entire conversation with the manager. I've been visiting that bar longer than any of them were born, and honestly I was disgusted with the entire visit. Bar service was slow, one of the girls behind the bar seemed more inclined to cheer on the band than serve paying customers. The computers went down, and two in our party were waiting for drinks. We were told very rudely by the barman that the system went down and they would get to us, yet other persons at the bar, who hadn't been waiting as long for drinks were readily being served. All in all a terrible experience, and I was embarrassed to bring our out of town relatives there. Too bad, it used to be a great place for live entertainment. Personally I'll avoid it like the plague in the future. It's a disgrace to the former PG.
I'm visiting Kingston from out of town and I picked Tir Nan Og because it had good ratings. When we got there, someone walked by us quickly and told us there was a wait. We stood in the entrance for a while and no one came by to take our name. We saw lots of people leave as we stood there, still no one came by to take our name. We figured we would never be seated so we left.
Superb atmosphere and staff. Always a welcoming environment and fun place to check out.
Sometimes the staff is amazing and sometimes not
Great veggie fish
I went here October 2019 with a friend from out of town. This was a place we always went while in Kingston. I was very disappointed to see things have gone down hill. No one to seat us - we seated ourselves after standing around for 10 minutes (and they were not busy) Staff were more concerned with conversations among themselves than serving us. The food was okay -but lacked taste. I had an item off their special menu and it stated spices but there was little to no flavour. I am sorry to say we will not be visiting again.
Good food. Nice service
Go every year for st Patrick's day. Food is fantastic. Always busy for good reason. Speckled hen is good out front if you need to wait for a spot at Tir Nan Og
The boxty was good, but the service was really slow.
Great food and service!
I been in Kingston for almost 7 years and this is the first time I went In Tír Nan Og the waitresses were nice and pleased to answer all my questions I had, I ordered the Chicken Curry and I was expecting to just be amazed by the look of the building my taste buds were blown away also and I was happy with the service Top Notch and I was even happy with the food I will definitely be back Tír nan Og
Amazing service/ food , friendly and feels like at home environment ???? , and you don't leave hungry. Highly recommend and decent price
Pink G & T... perfect on a summer afternoon. ???? Nice place... busy patio. Would def recommend!
Love this place, great atmosphere
Cold beer and great staff!
Love this place, amazing staff, great menu.
Good beer and food, they got karaoke on thursdays.
Went today for a belated Valentine's lunch with my husband. Had a coupon for 2 pies for $19.99. Got drinks, the Ceasar for me (mostly ice) and a Barking Squirel for my husband (he liked it). My husband got the quiness steak pie (he thought it was good), I got the shepherds pie (gross). The ground meat in my pie was terrible! Every bite had grisly fat that I had to spit out. I mentioned that to my server, and she said she would mention it to the boss. Got the bill, and no adjustments were made. Paid in full and will NEVER go back!
Great poutine, Shepard’s pie and fish and chips! And service was great as well!
Very nice team. Awesome food! Definitely we will be back for calamari and crispy cauliflower.
overvalued! careless staff! awful food!
We were on our way back to the US and stopped at Kingston. The food and beer were good. Our server was really nice and she was attentive to our needs. It was after 5PM but we were seated right away. We'll surely recommend to friends and family.
Karaoke Thursday night was a riot. Lots of fun
Great place
Great place to eat! The Blarney fries were great
It's a Celtic kitchen party!
Always a fun place for a pint with friends!
Delicious fries, burgers and great shows by the irish dancers club
Had an awful experience! Worst service I've had in a very long time. Won't be returning.
i used to eat here all the time. i can make a caesar salad with renees dressing at home. where was the bacon or parmesan cheese? worst food ever!!/!!!
An awesome Irish pub!
The food and lovely waitress were awesome. However, getting past the power hungry drill Sargent at the door was bull biscuits. Treated all guests like jerks and demanded and barked orders around Covid cooperation like we were sheep. Don't go here.
You simply must go for the fish and chips. I have had plenty of fish in my life but this place takes the cake. I wish I could do a commercial about it
Huge establishment. Beer was cold and they have a good variety of items on their menu.
Went for lunch. Very quiet. Ordered the beef Dip and got it in a very timely manner. It was amazing! Best. Sandwich. Ever! Great atmosphere thanks to a centuries old bulidbui
Arguably the worst dining experience I've had in Kingston in 15 years. Absolute incompetence from our server Jonathan. One meal was late by 25 minutes...everyone had eaten and the meatball tried to charge us for the late burger. Then tried to imply that it was somehow our fault. Highly recommend never eating here, I know I'll never be back.
Amazing food, amazing service, and amazing atmosphere. What more is there to say!
Great pub
We made the mistake of going before it was too dark so we saw how cavernous and dingy the pub is. Our waitress was busy and to-the-point. Maybe she was new? We ordered buffalo nachos to share, but they were so smothered in buffalo sauce (I thought for some reason there'd be buffalo chicken... must read the fine print next time) that we were unable to eat the top layer. Drinks were good. The Caesar was actually spicy! We walked by later in the evening (after 10:00 on a Saturday) and despite the live music, the place was dead. Sad... I'd heard good things about the place.
Great place for live music on a Saturday and great food throughout the week!
Not bad
Really quaint Irish pub. The food was good and reasonably priced. The service was superb! This was a great find and I would recommend Tir Nan Og to anyone who appreciates Irish food and drink.
Beers for queers karaoke -- so fun
The best poin of Guinness in town. Perfect pour, perfect temperature. Servers are friendly and attentive.
Ok place....need better beers....something local.
Excellent beer and delicious Irish food.
Great atmosphere good food historical building
Great Irish pub with live music . The chicken and waffles are to due for and the fish and chips are excellent
Enjoyed my time and the food/beer was great! Atmosphere was enjoyable.
Friendly staff, classic pub furnishing, and great food.
Ok two words: karaoke! What an amazing time with amazing friends. You neighbors and siblings would love this place ☺️
Kinda dirty, sticky table. Loud and cavernous. Manager was great, as was the server. Food OK. Beer choices a little boring.
Beer + Food + location = ????
Wonderful lunch. Sat outside on the outdoor patio. Beautiful old building, The Prince George Hotel, with friendly staff. Excellent food and drink menu. Conveniently located in the downtown core, near the tourist information centre and the shoreline.
Excellent stop on a nice summer day for a guinness or four. Very good service, cool ambiance and atmosphere, and perhaps some of the best people-watching in Canada. I think we had some snacks, and if I recall they were delicious.
Love the atmosphere. Beer is cold. What more does one need??
Good food and awesome patio.
This is a fun pub, with some pretty standard irish themed meal choices, done right. All the staff were excellent, friendly and competent, helping us top an evening out.
i come to this pub every time I'm in Kingston. Great location, great service, great food! If you want to stay close to the water front and have a very lovely time go here!
Went on Saturday night to celebrate a friends birthday. They made our poor server wait on a table of 15+ by herself. Service was horrible... my one friend waited so long for his beer, he went up to the bar and bought one. Another friend order two apps, afterwards while waiting decided to drive his car home and cab back... did all that and by the time he got back to the Tir, the food still wasn't delivered to the table yet. Our server made another friend pay for a drink she didn't even order. I ordered a side salad with the spinach dip, which the chips were stale and there was barely a serving of both there, the dip seemed burnt & was super hot but didn't seem it and burnt the top of my mouth so much, it blistered and is still hurting. The food was alright, the drinks were good but it would take 20 mins or so just to get one. Our server was way too overwhelmed and couldn't handle a big table and the manager would help a bit but not enough or didn't send another server to start assisting. The place was busy enough but they clearly didn't have enough staff to hold the fort down properly. Probably wont bother with another visit, especially if there's a big group/ table cause they clearly can't handle or know how to serve a big group accordingly.
Excellent food and service. Their new vegetarian fish and chips, and chicken and waffles are the best I have ever had. I would highly recommend anyone come here
SOMERSBEE
This Pub has the best family event in Kingston on St Patty's Day every year around noon to early afternoon.
great food and great atmosphere. chicken tacos are way too spicy though
Very tasty veggie burger with a hand made patty and crispy fried onions. The interior architecture of the pub is a little confusing though. The Ontario Street entrance says "Montes" and that they have live jazz music on Fridays, which they do, but only in that part of the pub. If you enter from Market Street and take a seat in that part, you won't hear or see anything of the live music.
The interior was so warm and beautiful. This is a place where I'd keep taking my company. The vibe is great for drinks and hanging out. We tried their Irish specialty but we weren't particularly impressed. It was different though, maybe just too heavy. But that wouldn't stop us from coming back and hanging out or trying other dishes. Our server was polite and covid protocols are in place which makes the dining experience even better.
Karaoke was fun, atmosphere was nice.
Went here with my friends for lunch on a Saturday afternoon and received the best service I have ever had along with amazing food. Our waiter(s) were incredible, they had great recommendations and were incredibly kind and helpful. The menu is really diverse, you could take your kids there and they would find something they like. I'm picky, and there was lots of things on the menu I would have ate. The best fried pickles, you really have to try them. I cant put into words how happy I was with my lunch, this will be my new restaurant of choice hands down.
Been here thrice, never got served after 20 minutes. Management is lacking, based on what other locals who've worked there say.
Blarney Chips made with Ale infused cheese sauce ... More like Cheese Whiz. Disgusting.
Had a large group in Monte's Friday night. The staff were excellent. Friendly and helpful. Well done!
Great place with great food.
Excellent service and delicious shrimp fettucccine.
Good food, good atmosphere. However, Tír na nÓg isn't spelled the way they think it is.
Went to this bar with a couple of friends during blues fest. Bar was busy but not overly crowded, and there were at least 3 bartenders and at least 5 waitresses. Tables were a mess, waited at the bar for to long to get a drink as we were there for over 30 min with nobody taking our order. Second attempt to get a our table a drink from the bar was a little more successful only made 2 drink order mistakes out of 6 drinks. After payment a huff was heard, saying that i know i could tip. Rude staff Non existent service Dirty atmosphere
Tir Nan Og is one of the more over-rated pubs and restaurants in Kingston. Rather, it is not living up to its former self. Another downtown restaurant with amazing potential, this establishment has become a vortex of service and food quality over time. This pub is not an economical choice for a downtown watering hole, so one would expect that the atmosphere and service would make up the difference, however, you are likely to be disappointed. They do host some unique evening entertainment, and do recommend you stop by for a pint, but maybe just one.
Did curbside pickup. Food was great - available exactly when promised. Looking forward to them being able to open patio.
If you are in K-town, you gotta check out this pub, which is much larger than I originally thought. Convenient locale puts you in walking distance to all the of the stuff that downtown Kingston has to offer - which is a lot. Staff are very cool and fun. And of course -cold beverages!
I like the Tir nan og as an afternoon visit, it's usually quiet and it's a nice sit down place for a few beers at have a nice chat with a friend or loved one. I've also been here later on in the evenings and karaoke evenings are quite entertaining as well!!
Food is amazing, sometimes you have to wait a while for service. Beer selection is awesome. One of the better places downtown.
Always an amazing place, wicked atmosphere and friendly servers
Good place for a pint and to gather with friends
My Husband and I went here for lunch today. We had the chicken nachos, fried pickles and the spinach dip. DELICIOUS. We were so pleased. We were greeted by Ryan who was our server and he was absolutely awesome. He was friendly, professional and was running multiple tables with ease. The food was superb and the service was phenomenal. The place was clean and the atmosphere was great. Will definitely be going back!
My wife and I had lunch there a few Saturdays ago. The food and the beer were great. Good service and reasonable prices. If you come to Ottawa, try Darcy's, their sister location.
Yep
Amazing atmosphere! The food here is unbelievably good. Anything with the Guinness gravy is outstanding. Highly recommended the steak and mushroom pie. Staff is incredibly friendly and accommodating
From the outside the front part of the pub looks very interesting the ceiling etc but well once inside a little disappointing the atmosphere is strange the service isn’t very good at all we were sat in the back by the fireplace service took forever we just had the Yorkshire pudding bites for us there was something missing. Is it confusing as there sign outside says the Old Speckled Hen but this is all owned by the Irish pub.
Karaoke night at their Beers for Queers is amazing and well organized.
Nice beer selection
Food was OK. Service was OK. Seems like a place that's going downhill carelessly. Stack of menus for outdoor patio was covered in food and beer. Every single one. People at nearby table had to return a pitcher because it had garbage in it that hadn't been cleaned out! I remember having an excellent lunch here way back in 2003. Too bad...
Bacon avocado burger was quite tasty and the special on Beau's Lug Tread made it all go down quite smoothly.
Great place to hangout with a large group of people. Service is fast and their weekly specials are good. Bring your scene or CAA card with you to enjoy the discounts.
Regular Thursday night karaoke, great food and good beer.
Strong drinks, great karaoke, always a good time!
Ordered for takeout and it was delicious! Will definitely order again :)
Great food, pretty good beee selection
Authentic Irish pub with great elevated pub fare
The waitress recognized my supermega shirt
Food ok - standard pub fare
Drinks are always excellent, food is quite good, the live music is usually exceptional.
Wonderful experience, staff go out of their way to make your stay good
Our office had a luncheon here recently. I am mobility impaired with a walker/rollator. The description of this place said “Accessible”. It is NOT! Unless you believe that several sets of stairs or a steel ramp at an acute pitch so as to make it horrifically unsafe! could be labeled accessible. It had No sides or handrails on this short ramp going up 2 steps! So even more unsafe. I see a lawsuit in their future. That being said, the staff were lovely and the food reasonably good bar food.
Sticky tables, funky tasting pepsi (water/syrop/CO2 lines not being properly cleaned)
Great time, nice atmosphere, nice menu
Amazing service the best food an amazing atmosphere great place for a date night any day of the week, thanks again Rick ????
I’ve been here numerous times, and the service is good only 20% of the time. The rest of it is slow and inconsiderate. The servers seem to do much of nothing inside while you wait for them to check on you for 30 minutes so you can order food. This place gets enough business through tourists but if you want to attract local regulars I would suggest training your wait staff and improving work ethic a level above bored and untrained.
Local and craft beer on tap. This place is also super haunted.
I have not been in the Tir Nan Og in ages, and never for lunch. So when a buddy (himself in the restaurant business) suggested we meet here for lunch I was intrigued. The place was not at all busy, which I guess is the norm this time of year, but people are missing out on a great downtown restaurant. Our server Frankie was on top of her game, the menu was varied and interesting, and the ambience is great. Food arrived quickly and hot, and both of us really enjoyed our meals. I had the amazing lamb burger, and he had fish and chips. Definitely a winner!
Great beer, great service
Great service and good menu
The place is great, food is great, I would give 5 stars for that. I'm giving 1 star for the Karaoke organization. If you look for a karaoke to sing wonderfully, as professional singers, that is your place, but if you want to come with friends and have fun, even if you are not a greater singer, that is not your night for sure. They have too many rules, and are not flexible at all. They don't explain the rules before hand. I didn't have a good experience there yesterday. I went to stage just to support a friend, didn't almost sing, just went because he asked support. Then the next song was, unfortunately mine, the organizing guy came to me and said I could not sing, as I couldn't go twice in a roll, so I left. But my other friend didn't know how to sing neither, so she left as well and my third friend was alone, so I jumped back. The organization guy was being rude in the mic while we were singing. I understand there are rules, but in my point of view Karaoke is also about supporting your friends, having fun. I was responding to the moment, being spontaneous, and most of all, helping my friend. The organization guy could have given us an option to jump our song and call someone else. I would never go back there again for karaoke and bring friends.
Location, food, and hospitality are what bring me back every time to the Tir Nan Og Irish Pub. General Manager, Gary Cork and his team will ensure your visit is not your last; they will make sure they get everything right. I can't say enough wonderful things and fabulous experiences I've enjoyed here. So many wonderful people work here such as Nadra and Charlotte who truly enjoy what they do. Thank you always.
An old style pub in downtown Kingston. I have been on several occasions. They have a good selection of beer and the food is alright. I would go more for the food and entertainment as opposed to the food. In close proximity to three of the main hotels downtown so easy to walk to if you don't have a car. On the night attended the staff working were a little weak but have been there on previous occasions when I have had great service. Will attend again on my next trip.
Fun place to hit on a Saturday night.
Best place in Kingston to grab a beer with freinds. The people behind the bar are sometimes not the nicest but table service and drinks are great!
Great decor and good food.
Always an amazing atmosphere there. Never a bad time!
Get your Irish on ....cheers
The food was fantastic! If you are looking for delicious comfort food and thirst quenching drinks, this is the place for you! Our server Brandon was very kind and welcoming. He and the rest of the staff made my partner feel comfortable eating out considering their health and safety measures to prevent Covid. I will definitely be coming back bet time I'm in Kingston!
Nice place, great prices. Not crowded. Good food too.
Good friendly service, food was good.
We popped in just for a quick drink and ended up with the best drinks made by Riley! I gotta say, he makes the best Sangria in town!! We will definitely be back just for him and his awesome pouring skills but also his amazing personality. You, Riley, have made us love this place.
Great place in downtown Kingston for a point near the water. There was a pretty awful karaoke happening in another side of the bar but hey can you couldn't really hear unless you went over there. Seemed like a student bar on one side and the a more mature crowd in the other. Nice place. Nice service.
Nice place to go! Like the jazz on Friday nights! So so pub food! The pub contains three different bars! Monty's the speckled hen and the tir nan nog.
Can’t recommend this pub enough! It’s got a little bit of everything... fun weekly nights like karaoke, special themed dinners/events, and even a couple of quiet tables to watch hockey (see pic). They also have an excellent selection of beers, and a tasty menu with daily features. It’s at the core of downtown, relatively easy to park nearby, and the staff are AMAZING!!! Whether you’re dropping into the city or are a local looking for a regular dive, the ‘Nog will make you feel at home.
A favourite pub in Kingston! Staff are all lovely and the atmosphere is great.
Amazing! This was the best experience I have had with take out via Skip the Dishes. The bag arrived with a bold and beautiful hand written thank you note written directly on it ... closing with best wishes and a ????. But that was just the start! The meals were carefully prepared and served into divided containers keeping everything in tact. To save on the delivery fees, I selected three entrees that would save well: Shepard’s pie, Butter Chicken Curry; and the NEW Cajun Penne Pasta (with chicken). All meals were tasty! My personal favourite was the Penne -and next time I’ll get it with Shrimp. From reading your reviews, I will be adding Fish and Chips as well ... since it has been recommended many times through the years. I can hardly wait until we can return. I miss the great music and events. In the mean time, I’m trying my best to keep my favourite spots afloat. Thank you!
Delicious food and great atmosphere. Also great events.
Great salad
Love the atmosphere however the bar tender could not have been less interested in his job or serving us, disappointing
Great service. I had the spinach artichoke dip with naan bread at the servers suggestion and it was yummy.
super friendly staff, good pub fair.
Nice place for snacks and drinks around donwtown
I've always had lots of fun here and excellent service. We most recently went for a Harry Potter themed dinner and it the food was amazing!
standard Irish pub, noting more nothing less
Loved the interior, very open and spacious. Went there with a large group of friends. 10 to 15 of us appeared to be the only ones there. There ended up being a couple on the patio and a like 3 people in the front part of the building. The service was extremely slow. Not sure if its due to new employees or not. Waited 20 mins for a drink. Not a round of drinks. Just one drink. When our meals arrived the members who had fries as a side, literally had like 10 to 15 fries. Normally when fries are a side, you have a nice little mound on your plate, the fries sat flat on the plate, thats how few they had. We had a friend arrive late, and placed an order as soon as he arrived. An hour later as the rest of us were ready for our bills he still had no meal. I went to inquire about this and they had said that there was some kind of communications problems between the kitchen and server and they were now making it. So he ended up getting his meal in a take out container. Then when the bills finally arrived, my friends meal and drinks were placed on two other members bills and he didnt get a bill at all. Unfortunately, it appeared that there was a lack of training and skill, time appreciation and customer ssrvice. For that reason i am giving the place a 2 star rating. I still enjoyed my company, but the service and lack of attention to basically the only costomers during the time frame we were there, will be my reason for not returing.
Historical irish pub in Kingston. A bit pricy drinks but cool live shows. Very unique atmosphere even the staff wear a very unique style of clothing. Must go if visiting.
Food was tasty enough (more or less). Our waiter was pleasant enough (more or less). However, there was a strange atmosphere, as though staff would generally prefer there were no customers. Also, one of the servers very combatively insisted my friend throw her outside coffee away, which isn't the end of the world, as I know outside food and drink isn't allowed, but this waiter wasn't even our server and he came directly at us in full offensive. There was reason to approach us so aggressively...my friend wasn't even drinking the coffee and was fine to toss it. Point being, this is not a place to go if you like to feel welcome.
Excellent food and drinks. The Fish and Chips are second to none.
Awesome place
Slow service and sub par food on a Saturday afternoon.
Absolutely love this place. They take pride in promoting the Irish culture ....and sell great Irish drinks and food.
Amazing with very friendly staff! Would recommend to everyone.
After a random but pleasant conversation with a member of your kitchen staff, Akhil, I decided to bring my family in for lunch. The yorkies were good and Akhil is a great Brand Ambassador.
One of my favourite bars in Kingston. Karokee Thursdays is always a laugh.
Good pub grub. Varied menu.
Amazing atmosphere with a fantastic menu. Loved what I ate! Spinach and artichoke hot dip and an enormous salad!
Large pub, traditional good food prepared and great service. Large beer selection .
Amazing food, great staff
One of the best local pubs
Great patio. Service is typically good. Can be a tourist trap in summer months.
Lamb shank!!!
Fish half cooked. cold fries. waitress nice but absent minded.
Great atmosphere and service!!
Have the Mini Yorkshire's
just a great pub
Food service was slow this evening, but there were plenty of people on the patio (we were inside)
Super patio in Kingston, great service. Love the Cobb salad and wings! Logan is fabulous.
Very nice interior decor. Very friendly staff. Fantastic dishes. Recommend this place highly.
Sitting in the restaurant right now. The green salad was completely spoiled. I requested the manager to use a more appropriate name on the menu like aged salad rather than fresh greens. Wooow huge surprise, the waitress told me she is going to take the salad of the bill. Not sure why she expected they should be paid! Avoid this garbage all together. Burger was overcooked and burned as well. That was my last experience at the mercy of one of my travel mates, since I did not have my dinner. Cute thing, after I showed her the completely yellow leaf, she said it is a yellow lettuce! Avoid this garbage location!!!! An update, our stomachs are upset now. ????
I had a quick stop in Kingston and ate in this restaurant. The food portions were very small. I paid 20$ and it was really not worth it. Not recommended.
(Translated) Karaoke was great! (Original) Karaoké c'était super!
The menu is great! Service is wonderful. Staff will share ghost stories!
Great service nice atmosphere
Monday August 1 2016. Very disappointing meal. Food was mediocre at best , not overly hot., menus were dusty and very "tired" looking. Flies around us the whole time we were there. Server was friendly and helpful. Will not be back.
Great food, cool atmosphere. Service was a touch slow, but very friendly.
Delicious food, cant go wrong with anything on the menu. True irish pub atmosphere with high end food. Have been going here for over a decade and have always been truly pleased with the quality of the food and service. Cant be beat!
Thank you! Love all the vegan options <3
Brandon was fantastic, he anticipated our needs and we were completely satisfied with his attentive nature and great service.
Food and entertainment not as good the last several times
Amazing food and atmosphere
I run a socail group and we had our meet and greet event tonight at the Nog. I was impressed from the moment I called and made the reservation for my group of 12. The lovely lady I spoke to on the phone was great/super friendly and accommodating. The venue was big enough for the large group. the server was fabulous (Brock) very friendly and personable with excellent customer service skills (bravo my friend) He seemed to really enjoy his job. we all ordered our meals and they came in great time. one meal came to the table wrong but was very quickly rectified. The server was quick to apologize and a manager came out and apologized aswell and his meal was free of charge (outstanding customer service) I will most definitely be coming back with my group whenever the opportunity presents itself aswell as on my own. Stay fabulous guys!!
Waiter was very friendly and never rushed us.food was well done. Environment is cozy
Great pub. Good food, Good service, fair prices. My go to in Kingston.
Pretty good food. Fast because we were the only ones in there at the time.
Service was very slow but the food was good
Had a small issue but the manager Gary went above and beyond very helpful
Liked the rubin. Nice old floors
must stop in Kingston!
Finally able to have a girls night out and so glad we picked Tir Nan Og!! Great food, drinks and good natured staff (Brandon) who put up with our shenanigans! Thank you!!
A good interesting Sunday afternoon...good music ... innovative and" Chistmasie"
Good food. Staff very knowledgeable in regards to craft beers.
Overpriced.
The food was good, but the service was subpar at best. We were a fairly large group, so I'd be willing to cut them some slack, but overall it wasn't a great time. we waited 15 minutes for the server to return with drinks and another 20 minutes for him to even ask if we were ready to order. Once we finished and we're ready to pay, we had to wait a while for him to come back to ask for the check. we divided the bill up a few ways, and we had to wait between each person using the machine for the server to return. he would leave in between every person taking their turn to pay. It took around 20 minutes for all of us to just pay the bill. I would not return here for more than drinks with a group no larger than 3 people.
Pretty good. Nice patio
Excellent service, the food was delicious.
Staff were very friendly, had a nice vibe and reasonably priced. Food was a little long in coming but overall would recommend!
Our server Brock gave us the best experience and definitely deserves a raise for the amount of effort he puts into his job!
The best fish and chips in town.
Great food and exceptional service. The Irish band was very entertaining. We had a great night!
Great pub if you like the English style food is amazing
Great pub dt kingston. Malcolm was a fantastic bartender and food was delicious.
Fast service and good beer selection on tap. Haven't had food in a while here so I can't comment on that. But Thursday karaoke is fun and seems to attract a good crowd.
Been here a few times, and potentially just on nights they're understaffed so I would like to give the benefit of a doubt here. However, I find the service to be quite slow, which can be frustrating as well the table still has not been cleaned of previous guests garbage and we have been here an hour now. Great location, good food, but can be pretty poor on the service end.
Went there last night for a pint the bartender there Mikey was to busy talking to a table of a 3 and made me wait to get service and they were talking about football the bar was dead so I thought I would get somewhat decent service, nope just let me sat there, went to the Brewpub and it was full got service not even 30 seconds walking into the door and they wonder why the nog is always dead could use better service
Great atmosphere
My husband and I took our first vacation to Kingston 2 year's and picked this place out of many, we returned this year and went back to this pub.. great food, food service and a good selection of drinks.
Decent little place, friendly service!
Their food is so tasty. Even if you don't drink, you might want to go there just to eat those tasty junks.... they are all mouth watering
My family group of eight had a lovely dinner celebrating my granddaughter's eleventh birthday . We were fortunate to have Brock as our server. Not only did he provide outstanding service to all of us, he especially treated my granddaughters and their friend like young adults periodically challenging them with interesting factoids while doing his best to get rid of the wasps. However, he went above and beyond the call of duty by running up to Brock Street parking lot looking for us with the birthday card that my granddaughter had left on the table. Yes he definitely earned his good tip and made our night out a pleasant and memorable experience. Thank you Brock and the staff of the Tir Nan Og.
Lovely patio and good service from our waitress. However, our greeting host was very impatient and rude. She could benefit from customer service training and, certainly, an attitude adjustment. My chicken was so overcooked, it was like jerky. Otherwise our meals were just so so.
Great drink selection but the sliders weren't all that delicious. The buns were somewhat stale. The samosas however we're very good.
Good place for a drink a beer!
Great pub. One of the oldest in the area. Great selection of beers and whiskeys as well as scotch. Local bands on the weekends allow for good entertainment as well as a relaxed environment during the week. Karaoke on Wednesdays is always a fun time as well. The patio facing Ontario street is always a nice place to meet and have a meal or few drinks. Food selection is typical of pub food but is also very good and the menu changes occasionally offering unique Irish food as well.
Good looking pub. Actually reminds me of a pub home in Ireland. Nice food, good vibes
Large and open restaurant and bar. It has different sections which makes the restaurant seem big and inviting. Fairly standard Irish pub food with a nice selection of beer and drinks. The washrooms are never quite clean...as if someone does the bare minimum. The food is ok...never great. Every time I eat here, I expect the food will have gotten better. It doesn't. Reservations are an option if you are expecting a large crowd.
Good place by the water to watch the world go by. Food unpleasant, not freshly made from freezer to microwave.
Pretty good for a bar in a student town. Not as crowded as I thought it would be.
Love the live jazz nights
The food was good and service was excellent!!
Service was slow. Sat there for twenty minutes before being served. Not what it used to be
Waited 35 minutes for a burger and fish & chips... Waitress never acknowledged us after we placed our order, no apologies for the wait, literally the worst service. When she brought the plates (after me nudging that we were in a hurry to see a show) she stated that the food was "straight off the grill". She was blaming the kitchen staff for being slow... yet when we took our first bites the entirety was lukewarm at best. Paid nearly 50$ for terrible service and "okay" food. Won't be going back.
Great Irish pub
Good service
Homey, chill vibe!
Excellent spot for all occassions. Service and staff are great.
The staff were attentive and ensured that our large group enjoyed an amazing and festive evening.... Bravo to Gerry and his team!
Classic Irish pub feel with friendly service and good food. Close to all the lakefront hotels. Great option! Bartender, Malcom, was fantastic.
Always a nice service . Always really clean
Great service and awesome food. Just stumbled upon this gem while looking for a nice place to eat and enjoy a cold beer. The manager is a friendly guy and the staff are terrific. Awesome patio too.
My 3 star review became a 5 star review! The manager handled my concerns promptly and immediately. Thank you
Always a fun time at the pub! Great service and delicious food!
While this place holds a special nostalgic charm for me, I cannot bring myself to EVER go back. The pints are fine of course, but anything else has never really been any good and then the last time I went, was the worst of all. I ordered food which never even came and asked for a blueberry tea which I did get but it came like this: 3$+ lukewarm, bag in, mug of water from an apathetic server and then two separate shot glasses at 4.50$+ each with the liquors served by the bartender himself nearly five minutes after receiving my tea for a whopping grand total of nearly 15$ with tax. Now, I don’t normally expect too much from a pub other than good times, but it was clear the kitchen and floor staff did not communicate, the bartenders are overworked and they just charge way too much for what you get.
The singer right now is good singing Mr brightside by the foofighters. But we have been waiting for service for the past 30 minutes sitting on the lower side behind the bar. Pretty brutal service
Burnt ass fish and a mojito with 2 mint leaves. This place could burn down and the food would taste the same
Fish and Chips were soggy and the bathroom disgusting. Good service.
Awful place. Rude staff - I would not recommend going here. A fat, middle aged man working there was particulary aggressive. Unacceptable service standards.
Amazing food
First time going was a Thursday night and to any one not doing anything on a Thursday I highly recommend going there for kareokee best time I've had in a long time cheers
Very short on staff but food was good and service picked up once the order was in.
Enjoyed the curry and a Guiness. Good service.
Great patio for beers and lunch.
We went to the patio last night for our anniversary and the service was outstanding. I think our server's name was Brandon! Shout out to Brandon! He won us over when he sprung into action to deliver complimentary cheesecake and we hope he celebrates our next anniversary with us. We loved the atmosphere, the food and Brandon.
Rude server. Goof manager. Goof manager laughed at me when I said I'm outraged at this nachos that we're gross. Manager is a goof, always will be a goof. Hate then. Hate the goof manager and he a goof
Fantasic food and service. Wings were delicious! Will be back before the summer ends!
Servers in kilts, great location, best patio in Kingston. Authentic Irish cuisine with an unrivaled tap selection. Lots of great live entertainment. Wouldn't go anywhere else. A must.
Didn't expect to have to wear mittens to eat dinner. Turn your heat on.
We had an excellent meal on the patio this evening, complimented with a suggestion of cider from Jessica, the manager. She, and Tiffany, our server, were great fun and very attentive. The service was excellent and the food was amazing! Can't wait to go back.
Never had a bad experience here .. Good food and good service
A little expensive but great food and atmosphere
Brock is the best server and created the most amazing atmosphere
Just ordered the Vegetarian Phish Tacos for takeout. They are delicious and taste similar to a regular fish taco. Very impressed. The new Chicken Sandwich is also tasty.
Weak drinks and server didn't know how to manage a tab
Nice place to have lunch.
Neat!
Brock was the absolute best, most funny/entertaining server and gave us the greatest experience ever! Amazing food and drinks! Definitely recommend visiting
Staff go above and beyond! Amazing customer service!
Awesome place! Amazing people and amazing food. I recommend!
The food was divine, the drinks delicious, and the atmosphere was both cozy and buzzing with energy. Would definitely come again!
Thursday Night Karaoke is the place to be. Bar service a bit slower.....but place was bumping.
Menu was dirty old sticky worn out. Food took 1 hour it was cold worst food my family ever had, very dirty place won't be back, service was terrible.
Really enjoyed this place. Very much like other Irish pubs that I've been at. The server was very friendly, and the food was very filling. Would love to go back again.
Great staff, great food. Highly recommended for pub-minded individuals!
Nice bar good food very friendly service.
Fairly standard Kingston Irish pub, with a very strong food menu. Also, has some absolutely awesome music nights. This makes it stand out.
Great staff, wonderful food! Drinks were nice and boozy!
Awesome open mic on Monday nights !!
Very nice pub
Service poor, food almost burnt and and what wasn't over done was pretty mediocre . Too bad as we have had better experiences here in the past but the last 2 visits have been disappointing. Won't be back as there are too many really good pubs and restaurants in Kingston to waste another evening/ meal at Tir nan nog.
Good food
Very expensive for pub fare, mostly light tasting beer, sometimes hard to get server's or bartender's attention
Their Shepherds Pie is really a Cottage Pie since it's made with ground beef instead of lamb. It was just alright, I've tasted better from Costco. It took awhile for the drink and food to be delivered, service was slow. The chowder was also just alright, nothing bad nor outstanding, except that it was still serving food just before 22:00. Despite the others reviews, I found this place acceptable, but not outstanding. Outside seating, credit cards accepted.
Went there for St. Patrick's Day Black Rapids Gold provides awesome music. Tom Savage and Kevin Davidson are seasoned musicians, that play Celtic, blues, rock, east coast, folk, and a variety of other genres of music. Accompaniment on beat box was great too. They had the place hoppin, and people dancing. Hope they are invited back to play at the Tir Nan Og often.
Great ambiance and food. Super friendly staff. Loved it !
Best in summer on the patio, for what I enjoy at least.
Went in for a fish and chips special . Real chips not out of a bag. Fish was good with a nice batter. Fast service. Nice place would go back.
Went for dinner, and the food wasn't disgusting, but was poorly made- fish tacos were mediocre, and the fetuccini alfredo would be best described as wet. Eventually they got me some parmisian to sprinkle on my noodles to make it taste pleasent, but I was looking for Fettucini Alfredo, not an ad-hoc cheese sauce. Beer arrived flat and had to be replaced, and the server seemed easily confounded and inexperienced, with no idea how to handle complaints or resolve concerns. If these meals had come for 10$ or less I might overlook these concerns, but each meal cost more than 15$. The one good meal we recieved was the steak and mushroom stew, so if you have to eat there, I recomend sticking to the Irish menu items.
Slighly overpriced drinks. Service was average. Calamari was not crispy.
Good food, cold beer, great location. Washrooms are gross and smell foul.
Good place for a pint or few
Irish car bombs are now called Northern British vehicle borne Improvised explosive devices?

Location is great. We sat at the front so had a view of confederation basin, Kingston sign, etc. Food was good, but... Both of us were surprised how small the portion sizes were compared to other local restaurants. I had a burger and fries, she had a chicken ceasar salad. Hardly any fries, burger was very good. Her salad was great, but more of an appetizer size, but priced and sold as an entree. Couple next to us who were served 5 minutes later made similar comments to each other. Waitress and hostess were amazing and friendly and an absolute pleasure. Really the only knock is value for money.
Though slow service can sometimes plague the food in this pub, it is worth the wait. Additionally, the Tir has some of the best atmosphere in town and friendly service.
These nice people host us monthly for a get together. I asked for a custom order and they make sure it's always available. They are awesome!
Have been a big fan of the Tir Nan Og for almost two decades. I've seen it change hands many times, sometimes for better and sometimes for worse. Hostess was friendly and attentive. Bartenders are great. Food was hot and tasty, beer was cold and tasty. There was a small mix up early in the night with regard to a salad but was resolved quickly. Building is clean and in relatively decent repair. Not much has changed since I started going there but that's part of the charm. A get together last evening for some old friends turned a little sour when one of their servers coldly refused to serve us, for no reason and with no explanation. While loud, we were nowhere remotely close to unruly, and we were super polite to the waitress that had served us before the new guy took over. When requested, the manager came by and couldn't give us an explanation for why the server refused but did allow us to stay and be served by another server. It was all very awkward, but it seemed like their professionalism was very low end for an industry that should value it's clientele. It seemed like they were angry the entire time and could not explain why. This place has some stellar staff that make the establishment worth the few frustrations you might run into, but the server and manager we dealt with need a change of scenery.
My wife, step son and I spent a wonderful time this past Friday night at the Tir Nan Or pub at the Prince George Hotel when visiting Kingston, the patio is in a prime location, the food was great (steak definetly better than most pubs) however what really made it a special time was the wonferful service by Brandon and staff , it really made our night... professional, courteous and attentive.. Keep up the good work guys! We'll be back soon!
Try the fish and and chips, the best in town.
Just a basic pub. Good food good beer good people. What more do you need
Character. Irish pub
The sliders were cold and doughy, pizza wasn't that great
