A fabulous place to eat! A very delicious and extensive menu. I would recommend this as a great date spot for any couples, friends and family. Obviously on busy nights it's going to be full so make reservations ahead, online is an option. With the busy times also comes noise, everyone seems very lively, and content. I found the cost to be higher than Montana's, but the food is way better and the service is above excellent. Be sure to tell them it's your birthday or you just got a new dog, you might get free desert out of it. ????

Absolutely amazing dinner at The Keg! We came into Kingston for dinner to celebrate with a friend who we haven’t seen in over a year. The service and atmosphere at the restaurant were outstanding. Our server, Laura, was incredible. She was so friendly and helpful. The food was absolutely delicious and filling. Dessert was sooo good! I highly recommend the mini brûlée! The highlight of the evening was the “Karen” at the table near us complaining about how she “had a reservation and shouldn’t be seated near the serving station.” Had our whole table laughing.

This was a special outing for dinner and it did not disappoint. The food was fantastic, the service was amazing and the atmosphere was very pleasant. Will certainly be back. The only small drawback is the parking is hard to find but that is not the restaurant's fault.

Love this place! Hubby and I had our anniversary dinner here last night and the food and service were exceptional. We were served by Artell, who was nothing but smiles and good vibes. My steak came a bit undercooked (first time ever it hasn't been cooked perfectly), and Artell promptly whisked it back to the kitchen. To our surprise, the manager Cassandra came out to deliver a whole new fresh plate of food with my steak! I was very surprised to say the least as I hadn't expected that, just my steak to be re-fired. She was absolutely lovely and talked with us about her kids as she could see I was pregnant. We even got a free dessert. Thanks Kingston Keg for making our anniversary so very special, we'll be coming back for years to come.

They made a mistake but were able to correct it with good service after, I was there for my birthday and ordered a drink but there was more ice than drink. We dined at the Keg on an overnight stop in Kingston. Everything from the staff to the meal met our expectations - we've never had a bad experience at the Keg! Justin, our server, was a delight, always prompt and willing to answer questions. The prime ribs were perfectly done, the apple dessert was sublime. The only small negative was that our coats were removed from the hanger one wall away and stored in the office (it seems other guests thought someone had left them, and no one bothered to ask around if the owners were nearby before moving them). Not a big deal.

The food was delicious! Love the outdoor patio! Our server wasn't that great. I had to ask another server with glasses, I hope you know who you are, to fill our water glasses and bring me a bag to put our left overs in, while our server was too busy talking to a couple of students and comparing school stories. I asked her also and she never did it. I felt like giving the other server with glasses the tip! When you're paying 200 for a meal the service should be spot on.

The location is cozy, but the steaks are inconsistent and sometimes tough. When the manager came out to inquite how the food was, and we gave negative feedback, he argued with us about the quality of the steak. Many other restaurants in the area offer better food and service at this price point.

The media devices some worked others didn't. Messy behind the bar, wobbly tables, poor lighting and server kept bothering every five minutes. Seats not conducive to comfort. Steak tough and grisly. No potato and the mushrooms as stated on menu never arrived. No apologies for the inconvenience and the lack of real effort in the kitchen. Salad a quarter head of lettuce cut by knife with a few random carrots. No attempt at making a meal look nice at all. Their Bleu cheese dressing is identical to their ranch and to their oil and vinegar, so your opinion matters not to the meal. Sorry Keg but you are living on an old reputation that is rapidly declining.

We went for our 10 year anniversary. Enjoyed ourselves, but could have been a bit better. My steak was on the tough side, but the only time we were asked if everything was OK was when the manager came around and we literally were just served and had only cut one bite each. We were starving, it was our anniversary, so ate everything without complaining. Just wasn't as impressive as years before when we had been. And vegetables were on the raw side. Billy miner pie at the end was a nice treat. Overall, for $165, it was just an ok experience.

I always order the Steak Oscar and it wasn't tasty at all... and It hardly had any bernaise sauce on it as well... It was my buddy's 1st time going and even he was still hungry when we left. My partner and I went to the Keg tonight to celebrate our anniversary. Our server Harry was fantastic! He was very professional and incredibly kind. He was friendly and we truly felt like he really wanted to make our night special. All the staff were very observant of COVID-19 protocols and everything was extremely clean. The restaurant was busy but no one was seated close. What about the food? I used to be a grill cook, and I am very judgemental about steak. I ordered the New York cooked rare. The steak was perfect. There was a crisp sear and the fats were beautifully rendered. My partners steak was also incredibly well cooked. Overall, I was very happy and thrilled. Thank you to Harry and the staff for a wonderful evening.

Thoroughly impressed! Last night we ordered the Valentine's special for curbside pick up. Ready on time, perfect portions still warm and both steaks with lobster tails cooked exactly as requested. For all this to be A+ on the first full re-opening weekend is a customer experience win and I'm sure not easy to execute. Kudos to everyone working so hard Sat Feb 13th!

Expectations not really met. Four us went for dinner the last day before the Province wide COVID-lock-down. I loved the passionate friendly server Owen. However, for some reason I had high(er) expectations about the food. I ate the Farmers' (Vegan) Burger, my friends normal burger and a steak. They seem to like it. I tasted a bite from my friends steak and wasn't too impressed. Generally it was good, especially Owen made our evening. But, something was missing.

This is my 2nd time eating here, was opposite of my last visit. We planned this for over a month with our friends from Montreal. We ordered the steak & half lobster x3, a separate steak meal, and a kids steak meal. All 3 lobsters were over cooked. 3 steaks were cooled wrong. 2 of them were sent back. When they finally returned 3 people were finished their dinner, and the other food was cold due to waiting 20 minutes for new steaks. One of those steaks was still not cooked correctly at all but i was not willing to wait for steak #3. The bourbon pepper sauce was to the point it could be chewed. The staff were very apologetic. The manager gave us all deserts on the house and removed 2 of the meals from the bill. The whole experience was not pleasant. I know they can and have done better.

After a long drive and great day we wanted to treat ourselves with a nice dinner. The Keg looked like a great place, it was busy which is a good sign. We walked in and asked if they had capacity to dine 2 more which they said they could - they asked us to find a table and they would be out with the menus in a couple of minutes. We waited for 20 minutes (the table was not cleared from previous guests throughout this time) where we decided to ask for them again. We decided what we wanted, but after another 15 minutes, no one bothered to come and take our order. So we left and found a fish and chips shop with excellent customer service. Its surprising to experience this kind of customer service at a small place like the Keg - the customers are the number one for a business like this - it takes very little to change this around.

We had a wonderful meal with fantastic service, and have to thank the manager Ryan for de-escalating and deflating the drunk and arrogant customers behind us, that were inevitably asked to remove themselves from the patio. As a 12-year GM in the service business I would love to have an employee who handles these difficult situations with such integrity and professionalism. Ryan has an exceptional ability to ensure complete client satisfaction, and clearly works well under immense pressure and intimidation. We will be back on your patio again this summer. Celebrated my partner’s birthday here this week. While I prefer to dine at local restaurants, we were gifted with a meal at The Keg and left with very full, very happy bellies. We had crispy cauliflower, calamari and steak and lobster. A full out treat to send off the summer. Our server, Rachel R, was so so enthusiastic and helpful. She knew the menu very well and was able to provide personal recommendations. Aside from business, she was also very personable and made an effort to connect with all the customers in her section— it was noticeable that she goes above an beyond. Quality has really dropped. Ordered escargot, and received mushrooms neptune. Waiter never came back to see how we were enjoying our meal, so I ate the mushrooms neptune. Ordered filet medium rare - and the Keg has ALWAYS got this perfect in the past - but this time it was absolutely rare rare rare. We were compted the mushrooms... obviously. Not the point.

The cream soda wasn't good but everything else was amazing. The server was great, the manager too, food was awesome, prices are what you'd expect. Great experience and highly recommended. Wish I could have gotten a Coke or had been warned that the cream soda wasn't sweet and tasted mostly like soda water. Oh and what a great location!

Let me start by saying our waitress was great, and we did not complain to them because we are not those type of people. I would like you to know that we have been to many kegs, in many different places. This was the worst steak I have ever had, i always splurge for a rib steak "which i know is supposed to be fatty" but not an entire piece of fat. My friends also had an extremely fatty piece of meat (New York strip). As far as "the keg" standards go, this place should pull their sign down!

Decent service, loud dining room seated next to a table a ten of (had mentioned when booking our reso it was our anniversary) half way through night this large table was reseated, with an even louder table with rowdy loud children. Possibly my mistake, but was excepting more upscale experience, and I recieved sub par environment. Was hoping for a more romantic ambience, but apparently not at the Keg, more for rowdy French families it seems, as 75% of the dining room was French? Have never experienced this as a Kingsontian, such a loud dining room for only a few table having been seated. Once again, maybe a misunderstanding, thought this was more upscale, not a chain experience... which is what I got. To top it all off, most definitely got food poisoning, immediately ran to the bathroom for 20 mins after getting home from this meal... not typical of my metabolism ???????? mediocore experience, the waitress was the saving grace of the evening. Very polite and understandng, didnt catch her name, but she made the experience!!

Did not disappoint. Our food was very good; steaks cooked to specification. I had vegetables with gnocchi as a side: vegetables were tasty however gnocchi were bland balls of potato flour which decimated the dish somewhat. Our server was superb: friendly, attentive. Great food and amazing service. Was out for the first time in so long (because of COVID) and wasn’t disappointed with the food but especially with the friendly and professional service we got. A bit shout out to the team and especially to our server (I sadly forgot her name) and the manager Ryan who had to handle a delicate situation with belligerent clients and handled it with great professionnalisme.

I took my Girlfriend here the night I proposed to her. Dinner couldn't have been better. The service was great. Staff were very friendly and attentive, always checking up on us. We ordered an appetizer before the meal and it arrived swiftly. The food came shortly after and it was amazing. Overall we had a great experience and we will definitely be back.

Really lovely ambiance, nicely situated a half block from Kingston City Hall and Market Square. The place falls apart with the food: On each of my last two visits, I was served overcooked vegetables and (worse still) overcooked steaks! I don't understand or see the point of a steakhouse that can't achieve a rare steak. (And as for overcooked vegetables, with enough distraction I can just do that at home) Accordingly, I feel this place is quite overpriced for what seems like mediocre quality.

We had a large group. Approx. 20. We had to wait for a couple table to clear. They apologized of course. When the people left, we were seated and were given complimentary appetizers. Our wàiter was excellent! As far as I could tell, no-one waited for anything. It was a good time! The food was perfect! I'll definitely be back!

Was not a good evening, all other trips where very good except this one, three of us were served wrong dishes but was corrected, recooked for two which the restaurant covered but my chicken was not cooked properly , took two bites till I moved the dish into the light and saw it was partially raw, and two days now being sick and in pain, nope! Was not a good night out.

We order take out. There were supposed to be three Caesar salads and there were only one and a half. We had two orders of the Garden burgers with fries. The burgers were ok. But we only got a small handful of fries each. My husband enjoyed his prime rib, but they were supposed to substitute for the (potato) with a caesar salad in which he did not get. And the food all had to be reheated. Some what disappointing, for the amount of money it came to. But I do want to say that the staff that took my order and everyone else involved were very accommodating. Thank you!

I went tonight with my husband to celebrate our 1st wedding anniversary. We were able to call amd make a reservation for the patio ( which was great). The service was wonderful and even though the patio is near the road it was not loud or bothersome. We had Rachel and she was fantastic! The food was amazing and everything we could have asked for and more. The mushrooms Neptune is a must try. This was my husbands first time to the Keg and when I asked him what he thought on a scale of 1-10 he did not hesitate and said 10. He had the steak and crab and it was amazing. I had the filet with the blue cheese crust. OMG!!! He had the billy miner pie while I had the Creme brulee. Hands down a fantastic Restaurant with amazing staff and food.

Staff is very professional and friendly. Waiter was awesome. Only problem was the steak was rare when I ordered medium rare and I had to send it back (came back still rare); this wouldn't be a problem at most places but when I'm paying $$$ at a restaurant that focuses on steaks, I have higher expectations. I would go back, but I wouldn't order the baseball sirloin as they have trouble cooking it.

The quality of food is great. Why I give a low rate is I made the mistake of ordering soup as a starter. What started off as a pleasant evening soon turned into a nightmare. The atmosphere is so dark I literally almost drowned in my soup from falling asleep. I was there for a business meeting and my clients had to save me. May I suggest if your there for business, dont order soup in the dark. It wont end good. The only way I will go back is if they turn on some lights.

The Keg in Kingston is much, much more casual than other locations. This is something strange because you would think that a restaurant franchise would have consistency across locations. The price and food reflect a nice dining experience but it's impacted by the casualness of the setup and ambience. I'm not sure if it's due to COVID19, but we were seated right beside tables filled with cutlery, water jugs, wine glasses, and napkins. It felt like were were sat next to the kitchen and it ruined the romantic evening we were looking for. If those tables weren't to be used maybe put a plant or large enough centrepiece? It's bizarre to me that this wasn't thought out by management as something that could ruin the client experience. Otherwise, the food was delicious and I have nothing bad to say about the service, but because of my points mentioned, I won't be returning to this location. The price isn't an affordable friday night dinner for me and many people spend this kind of money on a special occasion. A special occasion should have all the elements, including not being seated next to storage.

From booking using the open table app, to the confirmation call with Katie, the wonderful server experience with Cole, and last but not least, the amazing taste of the food cooked to perfection from the team in the kitchen. We couldn't have asked for a better night. All covid protocols were in place and followed and it felt like your safety was of prime importance. Yes Reservations were required, which we booked online, and did the vivid screening online, which made things even easier when we arrived. We got there on time and were greeted very cheerfully, then shown to our seats in the farther corner of the dinning room. This required almost running to keep up with the hostess who showed us to our seats and was like 15to20 feet in front of us. Granted I know there are measures in place for covid but having to run a race to keep up with my hostess in 5inch heels was not part of my daily plan. Also the corner we were put in was freezing. I had been carrying a jacket with me but actually had to put it on in order to sit and eat. Butwith in a out 20 mins of sitting down I had goose bumps on my goose bumps, and my teeth were chartering. No word. Of a lie.... All in all the food was amazing, the desert to die for , the lobster was fresh the steak cooked to perfection but the service was just so/so, our waitress ignored us when we attempted to get her attention a few times. Well I should say ignored me, my date on the other hand she was falling overself to please him and being sure he was granted a longing look down the front of her blouse every chance she could. Which is by no means a reflection of the restaurant or the food which was fabulous and well worth the small fortune it cost lol

What a wonderful place to dine! The food here is fantastic and beat only by the service. Jason, our server, was just great and guided us through the menue with great expertise. The Mushroom Neptune we split as an appetizer was fantastic. I had the Prime rib for my main and it was done to perfection. All of the ingredients where very fresh and the ambiance was spot on. I highly recommend this restaurant.

Went to the Keg Kingston tonight. First time I've ever had a bad meal there. Ordered the steak and lobster. The steak was like eating a pc. Of shoe leather. Was cooked right ( med. ) but you could hardly chew it. The lobster tail was bite size and the butter came cold and was hardly warm enough when our meals showed up. The manager dropped by our table to ask how our meals were and I told him. He was apologetic and offered to bring me another steak, however we were 3/4 of the way done dinner so I declined. I left most of the steak on my plate. No discount on the bill when it arrived. Won't be going back any time soon.

Went for an anniversary dinner with my wife. Got sat next to a table of 10 very loud people. After they left they resat the table with 6 children and 4 adults who gave no care to their children's actions or volume. It was the least romantic anniversary dinner I've ever had in my entire life. Thanks for the free desert but it didn't fix the ambiance or mood in the room when there are 6 children yelling in French banging cutlery and glasses together ruining my night. Will not go back. Ps. when I made my reservation I told them it was our anniversary. Thanks for putting our needs into consideration. My prime rib was good but the wife got sick at home. So check your meat please this never happens.

The Keg never disappoints. The food is excellent and the service is great. I always order the prime rib with garlic mashed potatoes. It's a little on the pricey side ... But it is well worth it. The Keg is a treat no matter where you are. Make it a stop on your next visit to Kingston. The Residence by Marriott is minutes from here...so if you want the best Kingston has to offer. ..the Keg will definitely meet that desire.
