This Restaurant corresponds to the category of Sushi restaurant.
Consistently great food. Lovely dining room. Take out and delivery options. Great lunch deals.
The best sushi at Kingston, well balanced quality, quantity and price. Iike to have lunch there every time when I go to Kingston.
Excellent!! Amazing place~~♥♥love sushi^^
The place is a little small, but they have a great Japanese food. I was with all my family and all plates were good. The service is great too, kindly waitress . I'll back soon.
Really good service. Tasty sushi. Always plenty of choices.
Nice restaurant, good food. I was extremely impressed with their habanero tobiko.
Best place to get sushi ! Highly recommended ????
Very good food. Service could be quicker.
The sushi is always well constructed with amazing flavours. Service is really good.
Well priced for good quality, will be back again soon - with frequent returns.
Since the border closed I've been trapped on the US side... I've resorted to seeing other sushi places but when I'm with them all I can think of is Sima... Hands down, without a doubt the best I've ever had. Please take me back
If you are looking for vegan sushi in Kingston, go here!! Their pink flower roll is my favourite, it is the most flavourful and delicious sushi I have ever tried. It is made with yam, beet, asparagus, avocado, and cucumber in pink rice …
The staff here and very nice and they are well educated on gluten free options. They even have gluten free soy sauce, if requested. The sushi is artistically put together and the atmosphere is cozy and lovely. The only reason that this place does not get 5 stars from me is that the rolls are too big! It becomes a challenge to get them in your mouth without them getting stuck in the back of your throat. It makes the experience less fun and I don't get to enjoy the taste as much. Still worth going though - especially for the Philadelphia Roll!
The service was incredible and the sashimi sets are amazing value! I had the deluxe sashimi set and it came with rice and soup ???? the best sushi place in Kensington
Food is great and portions big. But as of Oct 22, 2020, their prices are 20% higher than shown on their online menu. $5 items are $6; $10 items are $12, etc. I explained this to them when I picked up my takeout. My bill was $10 higher than it was supposed to be. Calculate what the total should be and confirm the price before ordering.
An exceptional place to get rolls, dynamite roll, spicy salmon roll, Philadelphia roll, and so many more. I also enjoyed the miso soup and green tea with toasted brown rice, very smooth! The staff are very fast and friendly, also the price was very competitive with other pay per piece sushi restaurants. I would say that two people could easily stuff them selves for $50, and usually an all you can eat is close to $25. I will definitely be eating here again.
Friendly staff, good service and nicely decorated. Salmon teriyaki very tasteful, salmon was juicy and very smooth. Delicious! …
During the couple of years I lived in Kingston, Sima Sushi has been my go-to sushi staple. Sima is definitely one of the best options in the city - the fish was always fresh, the sashimi in thick, thick cuts and everyone was so very …
The fish was very fresh. One of the best (and largest) Tekka rolls I've ever had.
Always packed because this place is great. The fish is fresh and the service is fast. Wish they had a bigger place though. Would definitely recommend this Japanese restaurant.
Ordered takeout for the first time from here, and we all agreed the food was AMAZING! Definitely highly recommend the Dynamite dragon, and the double torched spicy roll was out for this World, the Yam tempura roll was excellent!
Very small dining area but the foods so good you'll want to crawl over someone to get a seat.
Out of the sushi places in Kingston, Sima easily has the best quality fish and it is quite noticeable. They have a few very interesting special rolls, but it is a fairly standard menu. So not much in the way burritos or poke bowls like you'd find at Saka. The lunch specials and boxes are quite reasonably priced as well.
A friend convinced me to order from here and I got the jalapeño maki! Extremely delicious and full of flavour. I will definitely be ordering from here again :)
Look at the size of these rolls! Tasty, great atmosphere, priced right!!
Fantastic food and amazing price for the lunch specials. Cozy space, not too loud or crowded on a Sunday afternoon.
very delicious food. very reasonable prices. everything you cannot get in Toronto.
Definitely the best sushi in Kingston. We come down from Toronto to have it. Reasonably priced and huge portions. Strongly recommend.
Believe the hype! It looks a little tired at first, but the sushi is really good, including a delicious and varied vegetarian selection. Good value too!
I received a delicious green salad, then wonderful warm miso soup, and finally my sushi set, which includes sorted sashimi, California rolls, sorted fish pieces and sweet potatoes tempura. Every single item were super delicious and delightful. I just think next time I'll op for the platter without the sashimi and cross my fingers there's enough variety to keep it interesting.
If I had to eat one food for the rest of my life it would be sushi. Needless to say my obsession with sushi is ridiculous, and SIMA SUSHI is my go-to Japanese restaurant in Kingston. I have been eating here for years and it never disappoints; fast service, fresh product, and good value. Special shoutout to the butterfish sushi, salmon sushi, spicy tuna rolls, and Sushi Dinner B combo!!!
Very fresh fish, and the prices are reasonable. There can sometimes be a wait, but the service is great.
popular sushi place in town. mushroom sushi pizza is a very special dish.
Good foods and reasonable price, but I hope that the staffs could be more smile
The sashimi is soooo fresh. All the material is high-quality and delicate, after we finished our meal, we ordered for take out as well. Highly recommend the “Black Dragon” and “K-Rock”.
The food and service are great! The lunch menu is diverse and affordable. The sushi is the best downtown.
The sushi and sashimi were super fresh. They were big slices of fish too, not like other places that only give you a sliver of fish. It was reasonably priced as well. If i am ever in Kingston again, I would definitely come back.
I had an amazing time dining here! The service was fantastic, and they were super kind. The food came out in minutes, and was delicious! Thank you guys!
Excellent sushi! Really fresh and tasty. If you order a few things to share it comes out on a bit wooden boat! Very impressive.
Eaten here numerous times with my fiancé and friends, it’s been great every time! Love getting the warm sake and we order green field every time plus trying as many other options, but green field is always a favourite vegetarian option. Delicious and will be coming back!
I had the Sasimi dinner set the portions were very generous. Service was great had a good meal there!
Great staff, very friendly - well run business. I order takeout monthly from here and it is always very tasty!
Very delicious Japanese foodꉂ(ˊᗜˋ*)
As a vegan it was nice to find a place with a few options on the menu. Some items are vegetarian but can easily be veganised. I'd definitely recommend this place.
The best ???? sushi in Kingston hands down, can't be beat for quality & affordability. Service is always great, don't waste your time with the other pretenders. I personally recommend the black Dragon or the Rock Star bon appetit.
Longish wait time (didn't call though so that was why) but it was the sashimi that made me drop 2 stars. The first was a shrimp and then there were 3 others, the shrimp was really good but the salmon was chewy and tasteless, I couldn't tell what the other 2 were but one mightve been a white tuna, and that white tuna had a terrible taste and the texture of squid, but it definitely wasn't squid, the California rolls where really good and the shrimp really was amazing, but the raw fish in the sashimi was terrible.
Awesome! We're new to Kingston and went downtown today and decided to stop here for some sushi. Wow so good! I got the lunch special Maki B spicy Salmon and Cali rolls and my husband got the crazy salmon special. The lunch special came with a small salad and a miso soup, the crazy salmon came with miso soup. We also ordered some gyoza. Everything was devine! Will definitely be stopping here again!
The freshest tasting fish you'll get in town. The food is worth it. A sushi eater's heaven. Deluxe Sashimi is excellent.
I've had my fair share of sushi, and I can confidently say this is the best I've ever had in Ontario. I drove over 1 hour to pick this up and I would do it again! Very high quality, very good size portions, super delicious.
A little pricey, but you really do get what you pay for. The quality is incredible and their fish is very fresh. Love dinner here.
The place is very cozy and tight. Staff were friendly. The wasabi is spicier than other places I felt. If you're vegetarian, they have 2 options I've never seen - asparagus tempura sushi as well as butternut squash sushi.
Great sushi place. They don't do dine in, but I always take my parents to this place when they are in town. Cannot recommend a better place. Green Dragon is the way to go !
This is the best vegetarian sushi I have ever had! So flavourful! Great value for the money. The place was busy on a cold Monday night, which says good things about the food. I will be back!
Love this Place best sushi in Kingston
Very small and busy place but the food is great!!
Lunch menu is fast, inexpensive and filling. Great for your lunch break to get out of the office. Delicious and comes with miso soup and salad. Staff are helpful and prompt.
My husband and I tried Sima today for the second time because our go-to (O My Sushi) was closed. It cost us more for less food but we were hungry enough to give it a try. It was okay - of the four rolls we got, two were alright and two were …
Sushi above expectations. Must visit in Kingston
Amazing! I was spoiled with fresh west coast sushi for so long...I've tried a few places in Kingston and Sima is like being on the west coast again! Fresh, fresh, fresh! Great service, and the place is packed so call ahead if you're getting take out! Generous portions and very reasonable price. This will be my "Go-to" sushi place for sure! (their team is like a well oiled machine too...very well done to all!)
Food is fresh and delicious! Service has always been amazing. This has to be my favorite sushi place in Kingston.
The go to place in Kingston for Sushi. All of it is fresh and quickly prepared. You can get a large take out dinner ready for pickup in 20 minutes with a full restaurant. Service is always friendly.
Loved it! Clean, fresh and quaint. A lovely lunch spot. I had the Sima Lunch Special with Sushi, Sashimi and Maki all presented in a bright and appetizing manner. Two thumbs up!
Food was fresh and prices are great. The service was friendly and fast and were accommodating. The rice felt a bit old but was still amazing. Fish was fresh and tasty. I got the deluxe chef special and it was a variety of different options which is nice if you do not know what to choose from. Would highly recommend for anyone looking for sushi in downtown Kingston
I always enjoyed their meal box fresh and nice
I cannot describe how much I love Sima. Just amazing food and amazing staff. You won't be disappointed.
So yummy!! Excellent and quick service, good atmosphere and really great food. Had gyoza soup, dragon bell rolls and spring rolls all fresh and delicious.
I absolute love going to this place for sushi. The decor is beautiful, a delicious treat for the eyes just as you walk in. The rice is always fresh, salmon is melt in your mouth, the menu is teeming with a variety of pieces that will make any sushi connoisseur blush. Only compliments to be said about this restaurant, if you have the time, definitely stop in
Favorite sushi spot in the Kingston area. Always delicious.
Guess it was over hyped for me. Pretty standard sushi. I also did not like the white fish and don't like cucumber so that didn't help. …
Very good sushi at a reasonable price! The place was quiant and the menu options were large. A star was taken away as the waitstaff took a long time and was not very attentive.
Oh, man. Where to begin? I'll start with the sheer variety of sushi, sashimi and maki available. Any type of sushi rolls you're into, they have. We tried a couple of different ones and all of them were equally good. Sashimi-wise, they have a good variety (even sea urchin or uni). If you haven't tried sea urchin, you should at least once in your life. I love it. The service was prompt and they were very nice. Try it. If you love sushi, maki and sahsimi then you'll love this place.
Apparently this is small place with limited amount of tables and confusing entrance however, clean, accurate and friendly personal. Food quality is amazing, size is right and service at right level for this type of restaurants. I am definitely recommend for anyone to try. I only tested sushi with lobster which has been prepared with frozen lobster. Rather than that everything really good.
One of the best Sushi. I just hope they will have better online ordering and less waiting time , but not a big issue if you are a sushi fan like me.
I went to this restaurant with my friend (who is a sushi addict) for lunch and we ordered a few of the vegetarian maki dishes. In total we had 36 rolls and some edamame beans and it was all came to under 40$. The waitress was really helpful and let us know about which items were vegan and gluten free and they were very attentive the whole way through our lunch. It was so good we ended up coming back for dinner the next day! Would definitely recommend both for a cheap lunch or for a really nice dinner
All ingredients are excellent, abundant, and fresh. The pieces of each roll however are too big. It feels weird to give an average rating when the food was so good, but bite-sized pieces would have earned this place a better rating. Also, we felt a little rushed to get the check and leave. We didn't ask for the check when the waitress asked if it was one or two checks.
Biggest freaking rolls in all the sushi places I have ever been to in Montreal, Toronto, London, Vancouver.....sashimi are big chunks (they are not pieces).... My co-workers gave up after order 6 rolls and I was done after that sashimi plate. Be wary of the size per roll/piece. Their massiveness will haunt you in your dreams.
My biggest issue with kingston is that there wasn't a good all-you-can-eat place... sadly this is also a menu-order sushi restaurant, so expect it to cost a LOT more if you like getting a good amount of variety. quality overall was very good however.
Yummy yummy yummy yummy in the tummy ???? likable food loves to eat more ???? excellent cheif excellent food
Incredible food. Best value for money in terms of sushi. For example, the sushi pieces were so long they were basically double-sided. The takeout bag was fully stocked with everything you need. Not sure if this happens all the time but I received a complimentary side-salad. Get a 5 star by opening your dining room.
This is the place where my husband and I had the best sashimi in Canada! Service was fast and the fish was very fresh. Excellent!
Best sushi in Kingston!!
A bit crowded but great food and service
Not fancy, super laid back, best sushi I've had in a long time. Best California roll (!) I've ever had! Good service.
Very good food and great service!
First time to Sima Sushi. It was a wonderful surprise. The staff are friendly, the service is quick, but most importantly the sashimi and sushi were excellent. The amount of seasoned rice was just right to provide the perfect bite and not overpower the natural flavours of the fish. This is a must stop on any visit for me to Kingston.
Very good food and attention. The veggie tempura mostly sweet potatoes, that is the reason I don't give 5 points.
I can't think of a bad thing to say, the food was fantastic, fresh, artistically presented and had some options and dishes I hadn't even heard of or imagined. The service was prompt, cheerful and attentive. I haven't tried any other sushi restaurant in Kingston, but at this point, I don't think I need to. Very impressed.
10 amazing place. We came here and Labor Day weekend, and place was jam-packed. Quality food was exceptional, service was fast, they gave us personal attention because we had a little kid. Even got toddler-friendly Chopsticks. Loved it!
Great selection and great prices. The Sushi is fresh and the portions are good. Very high quality ingredients. Definitely one of the better sushi places in Kingston. Check it out and see for yourself. You will not be disappointed.
This is the best place for sushi east of the rocky mountains. We discovered the place in our last trip from Montreal. This time we actually decided make a detour to be able to have dinner here. The fish is super fresh and the pieces are thick your barely need anything else. We discover here as well the butterfish, an oily fish that melts in your mouth like butter. Incredible. They were nice ans super welcoming of kids.
Best sushi in Kingston! Large servings so you may need a box to take some home! Friendly and welcoming staff and great sushi!
Food was good, pretty standard fare, but well overpriced compared to other places around it. The male who seated us didn't seem very personable, seemed like we were more of a hassle than customers due to our party size.
Medium sized location in the heart of downtown Kingston. Friendly and attentive staff. Lots of good vegan/vegetarian options, some of which we’ve never seen before. Check out their specialty maki rolls, which we enjoyed most. Reasonably priced. Would come back again! We didn’t know you could mix beets in sushi, it was really good!
Great as always
There are a lot of sushi places in Kingston. I’ve tried a lot of them, and Sima is still at or near the top. The quality is consistent and the fish has always been fresh when I’ve been there.
Not a ton of options for gluten free and vegetarian options, but excellent miso soup and quick service. Not the cheapest place, but quite good quality
My friend forgot his gloves inside and the waitress ran out onto the street to return them to us. 5 STARS. (Also the food is really good)
Excellent. Sushi was sooooo fresh and the yam tempura my first forray into this beautiful experience. Staff very friendly and efficient. Left. Fully satisfied without feeling like I spent too much.
Tried quite a few sushi places in Kingston, none come close to Sima. Very fresh, great portions, maguro tuna, unagi, shrimp and veggie tempura... all fantastic. Delivery is also ridiculously fast.
Great friendly service. My go to place for downtown Kingston. Brown rice sushi is an option for the more health conscious individual.
Ordered take out and was very disappointed. Rolls are tiny, very expensive and flavourless. I paid $30 for three rolls to feed three people. Barely fed one. Wouldn't eat there again.
I feel like I can tell a real difference with the quality of the steak. We did order an appetizer of dry ribs with the spicy option. They were interesting, not really what I was expecting. Kinda tasted a little bit like beavertails with cinnamon & sugar with lemon. I know thats an odd description, it was an odd experience if I am being honest.
The waitress was really helpful and let us know about which items were vegan and gluten free and they were very attentive the whole way through our lunch. It was so good we ended up coming back for dinner the next day! Would definitely recommend both for a cheap lunch or for a really nice dinner
Hands down the BEST sushi place in Kingston. The staff is always very welcoming and helpful, and the service is always quick, considering the art that goes into making sushi. It's almost impossible to decide whether the atmosphere or the food is better.
My dining company had heard the huevos rancheros were some of the best around. I opted for the special which was eggs benny with smoked salmon on gluten free toast. We were both blown away! The dishes were terrific to say the least! I'll be back again for sure!Really healthy restaurant. Have been a couple of times and love the chicken sandwich
In the little town of Kingston, a little gem is found, which is a sushi restaurant. The place is just ordinary looking. It is not a fancy place at all. We arrived for lunch, therefore we chose food from the lunch specials. I got the Sima Lunch set. I received a delicious green salad, then wonderful warm miso soup, and finally my sushi set, which includes sorted sashimi, California rolls, sorted fish pieces and sweet potatoes tempura. Every single item were super delicious and delightful.
Wow. Just wow. As a person who LOVES sushi and has tried all types from very expensive to AYCE I have to say that sima sushi is amazing! The pieces of sashimi are fresh, flavorful and LARGE. One sashimi slice is equal to two in Toronto. The rolls are PACKED with good stuff, and not rice. I wish Toronto had as good and affordable sushi like this!
Great quality sushi, but a little pricey
I totally love this place! The food is always so fresh and tasty, generous portions, I could easily eat here everyday :) Best sushi place in Kingston for sure! Service is awesome too. Yes, the place is tiny, but the turnover is quick so it normally doesn’t take too long to get seated.
Overrated! I've heard this is the best sushi restaurant in Kingston and it did not live up to the hype. …
Amazing food! The quality is always great and they give free green tea and soup with most orders. Even a couple times while our order had taken longer than expected they have given us a free appetizer as a thanks for staying. Totally order the K-Rock. Best one so far hands down.
Thank you to everyone who posted such kind reviews on our restaurant! We are so pleased to hear that you had a great dining experience. To the individual who commented that they had a less-than-satisfactory meal, we apologize for the disappointing impression. Our customers' satisfaction is very important to us, so please feel free to contact us for accommodations of your next meal.
One of the best Japanese restaurants we ever tried. The quality is amazing and the portions are generous. The sauces they use are incredible...will order again for sure next time we're in Kingston.
Awesome presentation. Excellent service, one of the best sashimi dinners we have had in North America.
Love love love this place!! Sometimes it's a bit of a wait when they are busy (which they are up front and pleasant about), but the food is amazing. My daughter and I love it. The server is always very friendly and accommodating.
Decent place for sushi. A little pricey compared to the west coast, but it's understandable. No oceans in Kingston lol. I'd go again. No real complaints.
Great food, reasonably priced. No reservation on valentines day and only had to wait 20 minutes or so for our food. Friendly staff. Definitely will be going there again.
Excellent food, very attentive & friendly staff, it was very busy, so they gave us a free appetizer while we waited. And the price was very reasonable.... a great night out!
Love the food. And great service!
My husband and I are pretty picky about where we eat sushi and we really liked Sima Sushi. The food was fantastic, and came really quickly. The service was great. The only downfall is that it is not all you can eat.
Food was amazing! Great portions and not too expensive. Service was excellent! A must visit if u like sushi
Just upgraded my rating, get the deluxe sashimi!
The owner (Sandy) is so friendly! I enjoyed a night out on Thursday, it was so good that I went back on Friday, then again for lunch a day later. The decor is very pleasant and warm, makes the whole experience so lovely. The quality of the food is superb - this coming from someone who has tried a lot of sushi. I try something new every time and am constantly impressed by the care and freshness of the food. I love this place! I will be going back frequently.
Delicious place for sushi! Highly recommend!
Amazing food, and fast, friendly service
Amazing, delicious food. Great customer service. Would recommend to anyone looking for the best sushi in Kingston and surrounding area. Have visited many times and will continue to.
Nice fresh sushi. Good food, good place
The sushi was delicious, and service was excellent. My husband and I went for supper with our 10 month old. They brought her out her own little bowl of rice and avocado without us even asking for it. I was very impressed! And she loved it! Such a nice touch!
Overrated. Price is reasonable m, but Miso soup is too salty and takoyaki tastes like balls of flour.
Great food, quality sushi, but they need to change the way they take orders over phone, I’m sick and tired of having to call this place 20 times within 10 minutes to make sure I can put my order in because it keeps going right to voicemail …
I was tired and wanted to sit down for take out menu during covid and the waitress wanted to tell me “No cant sit” but the owner was very smart and nice he stopped her and let me sit. So 5 star just for good customer service. And the place is busy like they r good.
Best sushi in Kingston, hands down - no competition. They are consistently and reliably delicious, with amazing options and service. This is the ONLY place you should ever get sushi at!
We are from Kingston and we are picky, especially with sushi. But...this is our favorite sushi restaurant in Kingston hands down! Amazing staff (seriously!), incredible service (so clean and on top of it) and delicious quality sushi (consistent, great portion, well presented).
Best sushi place in kingston! Amazing fresh and high quality sushi. Only open for takeout tho. Extremely busy so call ahead as typically can be an hour wait for food.
I tried the lunch menu, really Good food and good price!
Great price. Food was excellent. Small resturant but friendly service.
The sushi here was really good, but it took forever to get it. Apparently they had a large take-out order and all the in-house orders get pushed back for the take-out. The server was nice enough to bring over some edamame while we were waiting for our food but that didn't quite make up for the fact that it took over an hour for four pretty basic roll orders.
we are really disappointed with our experience. We asked for a family menu for 6 people. more than half of the sushi had no fish or had very little fish. Really impressed to have paid this money for eating sweet potatoes, cucumber, salad and avocados with rice.
Been here multiple times while I was visiting my friend at Queens. Really a great deal here, you get lots of fresh food for a very reasonable price. I recommend doing the dinner or lunch deals they have where you get to pick your roll and you get a soup and salad with it. The salad has a house dressing on it that is really unique and delicious. Highly recommend this location!
Best quality sushi in Kingston! A small and cozy place with a welcoming atmosphere. The special rolls are huge and full of fresh and delicious fillings. The lunch sets are the perfect amount of sushi, and the veggie maki lunch is a great go-to if you want something light and fresh.
A good sushi place. That said there is better value for money in Kingston. This place has a genuine feel compared to others.
The white dragon roll is the tastiest sushi roll I've had on this continent.
Delicious sushi (I especially love the spicy salmon rolls). Don’t try to call at peak hour on the weekends to put in an order though, you might be waiting a while! Plan accordingly!
Possibly the best sushi in Kingston. Great sushi overall but not best I have had in Canada, we love the Crispy Crunch and the Dynamite rolls. When i order sushi in kingston it is Sima.
Whenever we visit Kingston we eat here. With covid, they don't have a dine-in option, so we took dinner back to our hotel room. I thought the food would lose some of its deliciousness en route. That wasn't the case. My partner had the …
Sashimi pieces were massive.
Amazing sushi and sashimi. Would come back again.
Great service and awesome food! Always enjoy takeout from here.
Nice place. The food is very good. It's not an all you can eat sushi place, but that place is really worth the price for the food
Best sushi in Kingston! ???? You're gonna love this place! Sushi is so fresh and yummy, staffs are very nice. Love Love Slamon Roll I tried is amazing! I highly recommend it. :)
