REVIEWS OF Chez Piggy Restaurant & Bar IN Kingston

Excellent food and great service.

C Jackson

I have eaten here a few times and have yet to be disappointed. All the staff are personable, service is quick, and the food is excellent. As a fine dining restaurant, the food is obviously slightly pricier than the average but well worth it. There are vegan and vegetarian options on the menu as well - including dessert! I would definitely recommend Chez Piggy for a date night or special occasion.

Andrew Yaworski

Good food. Good service.

Jeff Good

This place is far over-rated. The menu is limited and expensive. There are much better restaurants where one may spend their hard-earned money. We will not return here soon.

Marion Calistri

Food was delicious and the service was accommodating. Had the best mussels there

Angela Katsavavakis

Server Michael was awesome, patio tucked away between heritage buildings was a neat experience, hubby's food was delicious (hot and sour seafood soup) my meal was just ok (smoked meat sandwich). They didnt have hubby's favorite local beer (Skeleton Park) but the server's suggestion was still good ????

Jackie Moore

WOW, what a special place. First off, I was really impressed by the value, drinks are SO reasonably priced, like $10 for a glass of Prosecco at a VERY nice resto HELLO -- we got 3 drinks, 12 oysters, 1 main, and one special (which was salad, main, and dessert) for $150 -- I MEAN. The Oysters were incredible, fresh, big, yummy. They have done an amazing job at making the patio intimate and a really good vibe. Service was incredible. I cannot wait to go back.

Paul Venditti

Some of the best food I've had in a long time. Worth the price and ambience, absolutely fantastic!

Jeff Dagg

A solid, if unspectacular, choice. Wonderful setting for a nice get together with friends or family. The burger was great, but pretty stingy on the sides. Service is attentive and quick

April Wallace

I was there for a charity breakfast. Wow was the food ever good. I will be back for a regular meal for sure.

John

Most beautiful restaurants experience in Kingston: lovely garden, wonderful menu, friendly service. Absolutely recommendable!

Aidan MacCready

We heard about this place being a staple in Kingston so we decided to try it. Beautiful restaurant inside and outside. Cozy bar indoors. Great outdoors patio, resembling an European bistro. Good service. Large wine menu. Interesting food menu with the special of the day being very popular. We had the chicken (Pichotta de Mediterraneo) and the scallops (black, white and green). Both delicious and very well made. The restaurant lives to its expectations!!!

Jenn Dick

Good service and ambience, very clean, but very small portions and poached eggs undercooked.

Recently had my parents visit and we chose Chez Piggy for dinner. It is very clear that the team at Chez Piggy is taking every precaution they can to create a COVID-safe dining experience. Having experienced their level of professionalism, I will think twice about the safety of some other local spots. Great menu, great meals. You can't go wrong at Chez Piggy for a finer dining experience downtown.

CookieJ 95

Chez Piggy is one of my favorite restaurants ever. The menu offers great selections, including vegan options, but not so many that you have to read pages of choices and worry if they're all good. Everything on the menu is prepared perfectly. Sitting outside under the umbrellas is perfect in the summer. Can't wait to go back.

Apple “Orange” Craig

Lovely meal..great service

Craig Taylor

Group dinner for 9 people. Everyone was very happy with everything we ordered

Michelle Fenton

Always a favourite stop in Kingston. Great food, great ambience, and the ghost of Zal Yanovsky and his guitar still permeate the walls.

Kenneth Moore

I Had a great time, the atmosphere was beautiful, the waitress was kind and professional. Now let's talk about the food, I was pleased to see how versatile the menu was. If i may add some suggestions to the chef regarding the Mediterranean menu (That's the one I had); the food needed a little more salt, add more harissa to your Potatoes with Harisa, (I couldn't taste the harissa at all), for the Meze, it's better to use flat dishes for the presentation, it was hard to dip the pita in those deep bowls, never never add cumin to the eggplants dip it looses all the babaghanooj flavor and if you can find dry red pepper flakes for the daa, it'll taste better. My daughter got the Scallops with Black Rice, it was great but too much butter to the point my daughter couldn't eat it. These are my suggestions, the place is still a great place to go for a dinner

It had been a while since I've been to Chez Piggy, maybe 8 years or so. My wife and I had a decent meal with nice wine but the waitress gave us the wrong bill and forgot all the specials (had to read them off a list) and my cassoulet needed more flavour I would have given it three stars but it is a charming space and my wife's pasta was excellent.

Jeff Catania

This was my second time at Chez Piggy's (for dinner). The food, as it was the first time, was amazing. The wait staff was very pleasant. We had a dozen fresh oysters... so, so good. The beet, goat cheese and avocado salad. Fresh and tasty. The dukkah and sumac spices are blended perfectly. The soup of the day was a cream of cauliflower and Cheddar. Also, super tasty. (Especially after the oysters.) We had the braised beef short-ribs & the lamb... both were, incredible. Cooked to perfection. Dessert was the house vanilla bean crème brûlé, the social bubble and a lemon tart from Pan Chancho's. (Unfortunately the lemon tart was a bust. Wasn't very good at all. Perhaps a bad batch?) It may be worth noting that they carry a 2012 Grand Reserva Baron De Ley!!!! It is GREAT!!! Great evening spent, great food, great atmosphere and wonderful staff. A definite pitt-stop when in Kingston.

Great food and atmosphere.

Brent Elliott

Food was excellent, server (Kyle) was lovely. Great way to spend the evening before convocation.

We had a great meal here. I had the steak special, that was cooked more rare than medium rare but still good. My partner got the scallops and for the price, it wasn’t really worth it. Overall, we had a great meal in a beautiful space. We’d come back to check it out again.

Kiersten F

Nice little restaurant in the hipster part of Kingston. Fills up fast so reservations is recommended. Very fancy meals that taste awesome. My husband had the Duck and my meal came with fiddleheads! Great service and a quaint atmosphere.

Joan Mercier

You are a good restaurant with a great staff and plenty of atmosphere, but PLEASE PLEASE update your menu. I want to see new selections, the old ones, are well, old.

Emily Leonoff

During the pandemic, a coworker of mine and his partner had intended to travel to France to celebrate a milestone birthday and anniversary, but for obvious reasons had to cancel. As a surprise for his birthday and in an attempt to cheer them up, my team contacted Chez Piggy to help create a French-inspired meal consisting of appetizers, charcuterie board, entrées (the chicken and the duck), a beautifully inscribed cake, and a lovely bottle of French wine. The staff at the restaurant went above and beyond, tweaking the menu items with French seasoning and adding a personalized card made out to my colleague, his partner, and their cat. He was beyond touched and they RAVED about the food for days afterwards! Thank you Chez Piggy for helping to make such a memorable night!!

Benjamin Grim

I brought a tour group to Chez Piggy from Ottawa and we had a wonderful time. The restaurant staff were all pleasant and very accommodating. The food was fantastic! A must try in Kingston.

Stephanie Draker

I was tempted by the fresh oysters, but went with the Enright Chuck Cheeseburger. It was really juicy, with a nice garlic mayo on the side. Everyone in our group had a great lunch. The staff was really friendly and we didn't wait for anything.

Alec Martin

Food was delicious, service was lovely. Strangely one of our party (a celiac) of three opted for a gluten free meal (surcharge applied) and when the bread basket came to the table we were told that a gluten free bread basket for her would only be available with a further surcharge. Bread and butter is expected in this caliber of restaurant, and when you are bringing bread to the table for everyone else... Policy seemed inappropriate to us. Please reconsider this costed bread policy when people are already buying gluten free entrees with surcharge.

Linda Fraser

A fabulous restaurant nestled in downtown Kingston. The dining room is intimate and full of character. The menu is always interesting, with a great vegetarian selection. I love to go for brunch, lunch, or dinner here. Expensive.

Jody L

Fine dining and great atmosphere. Has a different menu than most places. The specials are always great. And that home made bread. Thumbs up

Andy Shutler

Just getting to the restaurant feels like being let in on a secret! Great friendly service! We really liked pairing the gnocchi and side shrimp!

Gabriele Guiducci

Extremely authentic and tasty food. Career server took care of us. Really incredible experience.

simon skinner

The motto of Ontario is "more to discover" and this place certainly lives up to that. Really good menu, including some great and well executed vegetarian choices: I've eaten plenty of mediocre pasta in other restaurants but tonight's dish punched above its weight. Best chocolate desert I've ever had, not too sweet but very special. And just when we thought the night couldn't get any better, the (friendly and efficient) waitress recommended taking the free ferry to wolf island for sundowner. Turned a great evening into a perfect one.

Susan White

I've been there twice - phenomenal food. Also, had Hilary as a server both times. She is one of the best servers I have ever had. Was able to tell me more about the restaurant and gave great tips on what to see in the area.

Matthew Doddridge

Great place... awesome food great service. Highly recommended.

mrsmgrp

Sounds great but haven't been there but based on location sounds like bacon could be there... So that's topnotch.

Alan Scott

They have excellent food and a wonderful location but I find some of the other reviews very accurate in their rating of the service. We had a 1900 reservation for 10. We were seated 45 minutes late at a table that could comfortably accommodate 8. Luckily we had two who couldn't make it. I used to think Chez Piggy was The restaurant to go to in Kingston but I wouldn't go back after the last/previous time we went. It's really disappointing.

Helene Vallee

Excellent, delicious eats. Homemade bread, potato chips and fries. We had the club and the hamburger with the garlic aioli. Highly recommended.

Eric Bouchard

Brunch menu is awesome

My family has always made the venture over to Chez Piggy while visiting in Kingston from Wolfe Island. This has been a summer staple and a must do when were up there so after years missing out, my Aunt took my boyfriend and I for a special meal. She immediately raved about her new addiction to their oysters and after deciding on a cocktail from their large drink menu did we all scarf down our own platter of 12 oysters each. I'm from Florida and I found these oysters to be superb, truly some of the best I've ever had. I loved the simple pairing of finely diced shallots in red wine vinegar and the freshly grated horse radish. I'm glad I took a glance around at other tables before I ordered my entree in which I was eyeing their turkey club sandwich when I noticed just how large it was. My boyfriend and I ended up sharing that entree which was perfect size for us----there was no way I could finish the entirety of the plate on my own unless I was starving. All the ingredients were fresh and delicious, the sandwich truly well made and thoughtful. My aunt got the grilled cheese with avocado in which we all loved her grated carrot salad which was a perfect refreshing bite when sitting out on the warm patio. I would definitely come back, but did note that it was pretty expensive compared to my other meals in Kingston. I can't deny that the cocktails were lovely, the oysters supreme, and my lunch fulfilling! IG: @KFitzEats

Andi Valachi

fresh and lovely food and atmosphere. food flavours were delicious and service was on point. despite the name - there is little pork on the menu.

John R. Callaghan

Excellent food and atmosphere. Lots of unique offerings. We had scallops and duck - cannot say enough about them. Service was bumpy at jump, we were the first dinner sitting so likely the reason, it improved. Otherwise would have been a five.

Terry Korte

The smoke show beef sandwich was amazing! Small but good craft beer selection on tap. Super cool old building. Nice patio.

Pascal Creative Design

Excellent food, great atmosphere, wonderful staff. Never had a bad meal here

Anna Binksy

Our tastebuds were singing. Great afternoon sandwiches. Can't wait to take another road trip to Kingston ????????

Romanov Richard

It was a mild disaster, in our view. Service was terrible, but the food was good. The interior is nice, but it's amazing how a server can make it all pale. I asked about a drink, she went to inquire and came back and said she'd put tge order in. I'd only asked if they made it virgin. She was annoyed at me and ran off to stop the order. Questions about the main course were difficult. She didn't seem to want to answer more questions, so she told me to drink my alcohol so it'd help me to decide. She barely explained the discussions; we learned about them from listening to the other server. She rarely visited, when she did, she made both of us feel like an annoyance to her. She wasn't young and new, she was just not well suited to the position. She had us wait for a long time for the apps, that it turns it she forgot to order. When the food arrived after 40 minutes, she realized her error and wouldn't give me my plate of food. She wanted to go order the salads instead, and make us wait while new main courses came. I had to be firm to say, please put my food down and no I don't want it now. It was awkward. She made no amends. Sure didn't offer us more beverages. In the end, when we left, the hostess asked if enjoyed everything. I said the fried was great, but the service was disappointing. She just said, oh. As mmt partner remained, I went to the bathroom. She still didn't follow up about the experience. This place had top reviews. We spent $125 for two meals, and went somewhere else for dessert as we were frustrated. We're not likely to ever return.

East City Flower Shop

Excellent flavours and great service.

John McEwen

Great food, Great service and excellent with Covid procedures

Adam Doerwald

We love this place! We always stop in Kingston during our annual roadtrip to Nova Scotia.

Haley Barnhardt

I've eaten here a couple of times, and it can be trusted to deliver a decent meal each time. The food is mostly French and well prepared. The service is quite good, but my favorite part about this place is the room. It is a gorgeous venue. If you are looking for a home run in Kingston, this place is a safe bet.

Brian S

Excellent outdoor dining experience..food was also great .. Nice ambience

Brandi Read

Celebrated a birthday brunch for 10. Wonderful variety on the menu although there was disappointment that one of the Sunday brunch items was unavailable (sold out). Great service.

Tiffany Gao

Such good food here! This is a fantastic place to meet clients for lunch in the summer on the patio. I usually get soup and sandwich combo since they have the best sandwiches in Kingston by far. For something a little heavier and sharable I recommend the Vietnamese spring rolls- so good!

Roger Roberge

beautiful atmosphere and excellent food. entrees starting at around $30. Fantastic neighborhood to walk around.Awesome food. Great atmosphere. Lovely waiters. One of my favorite places in Kingston by far. Highly recommended.I never go wrong with my yearly treat for a delicious meal. Great service. Eating in the courtyard in warmer weather is when I go.

Barry Delong

We had dinner here as a group & loved it! The food tasted great & from the sounds of it, was farm to table. Our server Bathilde was wonderful & even went out of her way to answer some questions for us about the history of the restaurant. We ended up here by accident & we were glad we did as we will gladly return on our next trip to Kingston.

Marble Sharp

Drool. Awesome location. Super cool inside and out. Love the patio.

Charlie VanStone

We came here for Sunday brunch. Great food! Grab a seat on the patio if you can, though the historic ambiance inside is very nice as well.

Andrew Claremont (andymci)

$12 is really expensive for an incredibly small and average ceasar. Not impressed with what is apparently the best ceasar in Kingston.

Jonathan

Just had my first lunch out during COVID-19, and Chez Piggy was great. Vetting folks before coming in, tables well apart, courteous staff and patrons. They are also dog friendly, and made sure to get my wonderful pooch some water. On top of it all, brunch was top notch.

Ermias Nagatu

Had a great evening dinner at Chez Piggy! Food was excellent and quick. Great local drink selection. Had a nice pint of Matron. All the staff made sure we were very comfortable in the outdoor patio while maintaining a safe distance from other guests. Will definitely come back for brunch/lunch/drinks! Also - Bring a facemask!

sravani indukuri

What a wonderful restaurant. Service is excellent, the food is amazing. Duck wings not so meaty but worth the taste. Had the steak cheese sandwich which was one of the greatest steak sandwiches I ever had. The atmosphere was quaint and the price was reasonable for what we received. Will chose to eat here again when in town.

Tyler Buttle

Good restaurant. Friendly service. Reasonable prces

Anna Kiff (FatCatAnna)

We have been going here since the day we got married. Great food, long memories

Maria Cyu

Love this place, it is neat and clean. The menu offers a variety of flavors - Greek, Italian, Asian and more. The sandwiches are big and delicious. The potato chips are warm and fresh. The nachos is loaded, it is a meal on its own. The gnocchi is creamy and nicely done. The pita bread is paired with generous servings of flavorful humus. The cuttleries come with pretty napkins, I hope they sell it in their gift shop.

Leslie Gizur

Food and service is always excellent, still waiting for the menu to separate vegan/ vegetarian meals (just use two different symbols).

William Big G Rothwell

Very cozy atmosphere with delicious food. Highly recommend the jack fruit cakes (wonderful surprise) and the scallops. If you've never been to Kingston, you should come here for the warmth and inviting food.

Sindy Bellemare

Great food and wine list. Fairly priced for quality food. We like that

Steve

Excellent brunch. They have a nice twist on the classics. Love the building.

Dick Pomp

Beautiful and romantic patio at night time. Great for a date.

Thomas McCutcheon

One of the oldest restaurants in Kingston. Reservations are welcome. It is cosy and charming place with indoor and outdoor seating. Perfect for romantic evenings. Food is absolutely delicious. There is something for everyone on the menu. They serve beautifully prepared seafood, meet or vegetarian dishes. It is not overpriced. I would happily go back.

Catherine “Cato”

Amazing restaurant in downtown kingston, it was an old horse stable so it has a really unique and chill vibe! The food is incredibly tasty, well balanced, and reasonably priced. The waiting staff know their stuff and are very accommodating.

Sarah Pollak

This place is very Kingston. It is my grandmothers favorite place to eat in the city and we have gone often. The location is very nice in the alleyway. More on the expensive side but that is to be expected.

Bob Taunton (Octave Entertainment)

My wife and I visited Kingston for our Anniversary and a good friend of ours told us to go to Chez Piggy for dinner. We could not have been more happy with his recommendation! The food was absolutely delicious, from the starter through to the desert. Our server, Michael, was absolutely perfect as well. Highly recommend anyone looking for a tasty spot for dinner check this place out. We will be back!

Crystal Phelps

Absolutely loved what the food we had at Chez Piggy. The young woman who was assisting us at our table was truly a delight. I don't think I could say enough about the food. I asked the kitchen to adjust my plate and they did so at no charge. The only thing that was difficult was finding the place. They are located in an alleyway with another business and the signage is not good to show you where one business ends and the other begins. patiently getting through that is totally worth it.

Em B

Amazing spot! Great people, awesome, unique atmosphere and good food. Enjoyed a fantastic lunch, have the fresh oysters and the garlic shrimp for sure, and stay for the service! Fantastic.

Luke Kumar

We got recommended Chez piggy from a friend and it did not disappoint. Fish cakes were delicious, but could've been crispier for the texture. Steak tartare was also delicious, but could have used A touch of salt for best flavour. The frites and lemon garlic aioli were unreal. Short ribs were mouth watering, accompanied with the mushrooms demiglaze and spun potatoes. duck confit was all off the bone and its sides were succulent as they were sweet and satisfying Over all dinner was top notch. Our server was also really cool and down to earth. He was on the ball even though he was swamped with 4 tables and still managed to serve us in a timely manner. Would recommend

Michael Deming

Reliable and consistent. One of the oldest gourmet restaurant in Kingston. Great food and drink. Good place to celebrate special occasions. Still one of the best restaurants in Kingston. Parking in the old part of downtown is never easy, so when you find a spot in under 5 minutes, it makes everything taste better. Older building that could probably use an overhaul, the interior is far from awesome, but the food is why you come here. And the food is awesome. Well priced, good service and delicious food, overall a wonderful lunch. Menu is interesting, and there is something for everyone.

Amanda Souders

The best creme brûlée I’ve ever had! Also mussels were amazing and my steak was cooked to perfection, staff was excellent only miss was sides were cold(cold plate) and to much sauce on my friends chicken... would definitely come back, amazing experience great food

Liam Horgan

Best staff in town. Charming and delicious.

Javier Senosiain

Great patio space, great food and good service. I even helped myself to some of the grapes (not seedless) growing next to me ???? and those were delicious too haha. Seriously though, this place is worth trying. The steak was chewy but juicy. The burger had a great mix of veggies and sauce... I may talking myself into going again.

Jessica B

It was a great experience...As always! ????

Steve Corbell

I would give it zero for the waitress if I could. Ordered the gin and tonic based on the waitress recommendation... cucumber infused ... tasted poor, didn't drink it and ordered different drink. Ordered a ceasar salad... had to remind them to bring it to the table.... we were seated outside and the wind picked up blowing pods from the trees into our food and drinks ruining everything. Waitress said she often goes home with pods in her hair. We should have been warned about sitting outside. Alot of places around.... I would look else where. Staff not invested in your dining experience! No one came to inquire about the falling debris... simply not concerned about you... wished that we took pictures!

Right On

I can't say enough good things about these guys. So accommodating and helpful, and wonderful food. These guys are the best.

chad lloyd

Great food. Nice people

Christian Théus

Great food and great ambiance. We stopped by at the restaurant after a cruise of 1000 island. They had a lovely terrace and the food was delicious.

Greg S

Good to very good, but falling short of great. Nice setting upstairs, with reasonable sound level. Some cold drafts, surprisingly, but not too bad. Kitchen accommodated special requests, which is very good (not sure why others don't, given it's really supposed to be about the customer). Service was very good. Charcuterie was a bit weak. Food is very good. Not inexpensive, but you get what you pay for!

James Durling

Every time I am in Kingston, I always grab diner at Chez Piggy. The food and drinks are always amazing. The location is absolutely spectacular.

Zak Craig

Lovely cosy place, felt like home. Food was delicious and well cooked. Our waitress was fantastic, she's worked there for 38 years! Shane I don't live here our is be back in a heartbeat

Laura Stanley

Stopped in for lunch while passing through the area. Had a great meal on the patio. Staff were attentive and helpful.

Karen Wilson

Food was amazing still. So nice that this is still a great Kingston destination - my last visit was nearly 20 years ago. We enjoyed appetizers, mains, and dessert. Sat on the patio - it was lovely. Service was a bit slow to start (new waitress) but we got through just fine.

Ashley R

Went for brunch and it was delicious! Service was good. I would definitely go back!

Olivia Manning

Food was very good & the service excellent!

Maggie Frazer

Good food tucked in to the center of the city.

Aaron Mosher

This restaurant was recommended by a local. We went there and found the servers abrasive. The fish was over cooked and when I told the waitress she brushed it off as if I had never eaten fish before.

Nikki Pitula

Food was delicious!!! Our server was very polite and an excellent communicator. We pointed out our food allergies and she was very responsive to our requests. Great experience we are going back for dinner this week!!!

Tom Skublics

The food was average, but the price wasn't consistent with the quality. It felt quite expensive for what you get. A coffee refill wasn't free like it is at most restaurants.

Eric Michalski

Had lunch there- it was fabulous. Lamb burger was the best I have ever tasted. Lovely setting and excellent food at very reasonable prices. Would go back if it wasn't a ten hour drive from Ohio !!

Eddie Mohan

Very good! All the staffs are very kind, nice and friendly, the atmosphere is amazing, and the food was really good! It’s not cheap but it’s worth more than I pay.

The Crystal Bloom

Drove into Kingston from Toronto. Just had my brunch at Chez Piggy let's just say it was worth the drive!!! Everyone was super nice and friendly. Will be coming back !!!!

LeRoy Crooks

The food was excellent, fresh and well prepared (I recommend the Triple Decker sandwich). They also offer plenty of gluten-free options for those who have celiac's disease. The service was great and the waitress was very kind. The patio is very nice and picturesque, especially on a warm day, however it is a relatively small space. They tend to be busy during peak times and otherwise, so expect a wait time of at least 15 minutes. Overall, I would absolutely recommend this restaurant.

Mike Maziarz

I went with four friends for a birthday and we all ended up being disappointed. A couple people recommended this restaurant so I was surprised. The duck was over cooked (we asked for another dish instead and they brought us shrimps), don't order the seafood platter its so small and not at all worth it. Maybe we just ordered the wrong things or it was an off night. I also found the atmosphere off putting. We sat upstairs and it was SO quiet. It was nice that we didn't have to yell to hear each other but it was like a library. Though our server was acting strange too, stumbling around and had trouble speaking... Don't think I'd go back.

Cassandra Sempson

My first time. Food was absolutely amazing. And offers smaller portions!!!! Atmosphere was awesome. Cant wait to see courtyard in the summer!!! Will be back for sure!!

Stuart Rolland

The food here is awesome. Our waitress was very pleasant. Make sure you book a reservation as they're always in high demand.

L. L.

Very good food. Have been 4 times for brunch, lunch and dinner and it is always consistently good. The patio is where you want to be in the nice weather.

Rick Darnell

Great and tasty

Louise Heidi Ross

Third visit over the past year for lunch today and again just loved it! (From Ottawa) Great food, service, atmosphere. Even loved the music! So rare to not be disappointed when eating out. Keep up the great work!

comegetsomebeer

Food outstanding service good and friendly

Belinda Scilley

The staff were all so nice and friendly. The food is the best in Kingston! Due to covid, the bread wasn't as fresh as it could be but I don't care. I'm just super glad they can operate again!

Desiree Smith

Great menu, servers and outdoor patio. I've been there a couple of times now and it has never disappointed

Kam Ski

What a fantastic little hidden gem. Jenny was amazing and had the bartender make us some amazing shots. Loved the place so much we had to come back the next day and the treatment we got by Jared was just as amazing. The garlic dip for fries …

Callie

Best fine dining in Kingston!! Great vegan options and dessert was amazing :) 10/10

Tyler Wells

Food & service were awesome. Loved this little tucked away gem. Beautiful building with lots of charm.

Esten McLaren

A medical condition gives me a "tell" when I eat too much of either of these, and I was "told" quite clearly. For those with no obvious reaction, suffice it to say that the food is wonderful, but you are eating very rich cuisine. Our server (pleasant, attentive) advised that we consider two sharing plates each as a good quantity to order, which we did.

Jessica Hebb

Best lamb I've had in years. Service was outstanding. Ambiance is perfect for a nice evening out with friends, business associates or loved ones.

Guenther Moeller

Amazing food! Great veg options. Kimchi and tofu stew is so good. Staff are doing a great job to make everyone safe and comfortable during COVID. Thank you!

stephen dokken-isgar

The Vietnamese springroll salad is so darn good!

Debbie Gatner

Atmosphere superb! Food & service terrific. Highly recommend!

Elizabeth Antony

Food was amazing as always. Have the Social Bubble for dessert it's light and delicious with a clever name. Great COVID precautions in place. Very happy to see they are taking all precautions possible to keep their staff safe.

Jill Price

Great service, and quality food!

Ken Dunning

Cuisine is inspired, local, fresh. Services excellent. Local history fascinating. Table wear, decor locally sourced unique.

Julia Warkentin

Fantastic food and atmosphere!

Christine Crozier

First time visiting in over 30 years. Food is still delicious. Kid friendly.

Josee Proulx

We were recommended this place by 2 people and we had supper on our anniversary. Service was really good, our server was Rog. He had to manage the bar and a few tables. With this pandemic and them suffering like every other restaurant with the lack of employees we could not feel it. He gave us an amazing service. The food was good but not 5 stars for us, this is where we give it a 4 stars, it is nothing out of the ordinary as for expectations, we had a houmous entree that was really good and normal sautéed shrimps. For mains we had duck and it was very tuff and scallops that was very normal, something I felt I could do myself at home. Nice experience we wanted to try but did not surpass our expectations. Don't think I would go back.

Allan Friedman

Amazing dinner! The salad (with warm cheese, candied pecans, spinach etc) was actually awesome, as was my main course (‘black white and green’ - scallops with black rice and greens). The tropical sensation dessert was incredible too! Honestly one of the best meals I’ve had in a long time. And kudos to our server, Tasha, who took excellent care of the 4 of us (right down to the sunflower seeds for my wife’s salad) and made the evening that much more enjoyable. Looking forward to finding there again next time I’m in town! Well done!

Naomi Robart

Lovely ambience, friendly, attentive service and food was hot and really good...

Steve Heard

This is small local brunch spot. Decoration is very simple. Server is not really friendly (I saw same feedback on other reviews). I went there for pastrami sandwich. I liked it! Coffee quality is good. Get the Smoked meat hash with your breakfast. So delicious!!

LM

Absolutely recommending this place, we stopped by on our way from Toronto to Ottawa and enjoy the delicious dinner, good wine and local beer. The service was wonderful:)

Elhgyne A.

It was okay but didn't live up to the hype. We were so looking forward to coming here due to good reviews but that wasn't what we experience. It could be a matter of preference too but even the fries did not meet our regular expectation. And we were starting when we got here, we were ready to eat. Food was bland, although each piece of seafood tasted fresh, not enough flavors. The servers were really polite though and the place was following covid protocols.

Michael Slavitch

Great meal and environment for leisurely dining. Service was excellent. Great variety of menu features including vegetarian. Very pleasant evening. Reservations recommended.

Tayler Morrison

Cozy and warm ambience as you dine inside or on their large patio. My waitress was affable and helped us navigate the menu. Made sure to bring us refills even as the restaurant and her tables where quite busy. My food was a smaller portion then im used to but delicious none the less.

Jana D

I come all the way from Ottawa for their tripple decker sandwich. The bread is havenly and they give you sooo much ! Delicious!

Jazmin Dodds

Amazing. Great service, great patio, great food.

Olivia Matte-Allen

I purchased a small Cesar salad, and added chicken. I was hesitant when it said 9$ to add chicken but I was so hungry and I knew I wouldn't have time to eat the rest of the day. I'm not even joking when I say the salad showed up with 3 pieces of chicken with the same ratio of meat as a chicken McNugget. 3. So I paid 3$ per piece of chicken. I was starving after. Total was 24.00. I was blown away with how small these portions were. I did mention it to the waitress who was great. So disappointed and probably won't be back.

SJ

Food was ok. Nothing to write home about. Asked for a slightly modified lunch- I wasn't allowed to get half fries and chips. Was asked if I wanted the bill even before we were done with our lunch. Too many umbrellas; when it's sunny it's not great for the atmosphere- keeps it dark. Too bad though Nice area and alright beer selection

manal B

Small portions but overall a great experience! Very clean, friendly, attentive and friendly. Beautiful patio, tucked away off the main street. Hardly feels like you're in downtown Kingston.

Da Mir

Fantastic evening and meal. Great service and friendly staff.

kike Perdomo

Great food, great drinks, and super friendly staff. Went here with family and we all found something we loved, from the youngest at four all the way through to the adults!

Brandon Thornley

Great food and ambiance! Love it!

Dale Bennett

marvelous lil Europe atmosphere ( patio and limestone) .. terrific menu and staff . excellent food

Anju Philip

Beautiful patio, good service, and good food. The kids meal was a little pricey ($12 for a small portion of penne with marinara), but that's okay. The cioppino was great, as was the lemony fish burger.

Jennie Marshall

Cute secret huge patio, massive portions and good food. We really enjoyed our experience here, until the very end when we were expecting our takeout. We gave the takeout order at the beginning of the meal so it would be ready by the time we left, as I had a train to catch shortly after. The order wasn't started until we finished our meal, and took over 15 minutes to receive the food because the waitress assumed we had it when she saw my takeout container with my food. No one checked in to see why two girls with a baby were standing around awkwardly for that long. Eventually upon going inside the issue was resolved and we got the food. Thankfully my train was 10 minutes late, or else I would not have made it.

K LaRoche

There is always a lineup to get in. Reserve early, patio is accessible and very pleasant. Service for lunch was slow. Good food

Scott Norris

The reviews were so good that our experience was a bit surprising. The bourbon with rootbeer and the muscles were great. Then the main courses showed up and the lamb burger was really overcooked. The Philly cheese steak was also fairly average. Might have just been a one off day.

Yvonne Irvine

Great food, wonderful atmosphere in the courtyard. The Tropical Staycation dessert was to die for.

LC Filter

Excellent food every time. Love the Sunday roast dinner and brunch options

Jay Nasram

Loved it. Food was fantastic and an awesome atmosphere.

Lisa Tutty

So so good! Stopped in while in town for the night and was very impressed. I had the discussion which came with a lovely salad, pork tenderloin over gnocchi, and dessert. The creme brûlée was excellent. The méditerranéen chicken dish was mouth watering. The chicken was moist and the potatoes were fantastic. Thank you for a tasty memorable evening.

Elsa J (PhotogenicBliss)

Very nice Patio, food was delicious. We especially liked that it was dog friendly and they even gave our little one a treat :) We got a variety of plates and everything was delicious. Thanks to our server Ralph for her great service and making us feel at home! Def recommend

John Bardwell

Adorable location. Exceptional service. Delicious food.

Sarah Gordon

My evening at Chez Piggy was enjoyable. I have only been here once, but it made a lasting impression. Service was great. My waitress was very friendly and helpful. Also came by frequently enough to refill water and check up on the table in general. My table was on the second floor, and the atmosphere was very warm and comforting. My only critique is that you can definitely feel the floor shaking when people walk around. Not sure if it's a safety concern, it can just get annoying from time to time. In terms of food, it was excellent. I got half a dozen oysters as well as gnocchi. Both were delicious. However, whether the dishes were worth the price can be debatable. I thought it was too expensive for the portion size, but it could just be that I'm unused to the price of fine dining. Still, the food was delicious and I would definitely come here again.

Kevin Monfette

Pleasant atmosphere. I had fresh oysters which were excellent. Service was fast; however some staff were not as friendly as I expected from previous reviews!

Jared Porter

This spot has a great ambiance- We sat inside downstairs. The music was great, not overpowering for a family or friend dinner. Great selection of meals and interesting cocktails, and beautiful fresh bread. The service was excellent, and the food was so delicious! Highly recommend the micro greens salad- it was so so good!

Ryan Cobb

My Sister and I had brunch that included amazing atmosphere, food, and staff.????

Valerie

Because it is to expensive for the quality of the food!! Very poor service...a watery espresso...eggs overcooked...we ask for turn over eggs...very disappointed..i will never return and recommend this restaurant.

John Vinueza

Delicious food, fantastic service! Thank you Cameron for ensuring our dinner experience was top notch!

Jacek Szymanski

This is a place I always stop at when we come to Kingston. In summer I love the patio for a nice lunch, which is dog friendly. For supper you can't go wrong with the nightly special. It's a bit pricy but I've never been unhappy.

Rkv tycoon

beautiful atmosphere and excellent food. entrees starting at around $30. Fantastic neighborhood to walk around.

Dominik Jablecki

Went for a road trip to Kingston for the day. I reccomend it if you have the time. Beautiful city and not as crowded as Toronto lake shore. Anyway. Decided to try this place out as the menu looked Interesting. Reviews were up and down but I decided to see for myself.

Jean-Philippe Bousquet

Upon walking in to the restaurant through the courtyard, you are greeted by fairy lights and a wonderful eclectic atmosphere, with delicious smells wafting up to welcome you. We ordered the house sausage with our bread. The bread was an authentic sourdough made by their sister bakery, Pan Chancho. The sausage was smoky and packed with flavor. We had Jackfruit cake for the appetizer, and Linguini Aglio Olio, Black White + Green, Levantine Lamb for the main, and fresh Strawberry Shortcake for dessert. All of the food was amazing. There are no words to describe the incredible mix and depth of flavors in each dish. It felt like each one was crafted with care and love with a chef who has one of the best handle on flavors. Overall, extremely pleased with my dining experience and amazing food. I would say its definitely worth coming out here for.

Eric Diep

My wife loves it. We are heading home from Ottawa and decide to stop by Kingston for few hours. Thea, our waitress is very nice and showing she is experienced in what she is doing. …

Mike Field

Chez Piggy was terrific. Large but cosy patio, great food, and comforted that they took COVID protocols seriously. Well done!

Lora Weir

Had an early dinner tonight on our way back to Toronto. We got a table right away, didn't feel like ordering drinks and our waitress didn't feel we should have known the specials we heard from table around us. Waited way too long for every item we requested, but the bill. Anyway I don't like put this much time writing a review, but this was one of my worse experience at a place of this caliber, menu and prices in a long time. Food is average for the high price tag!

Michael Amesse

Great service and good food. Very friendly staff and very comfortable, warm and home-like atmosphere.

victoria manning artist

One of the most delicious meals I've eaten in Kingston, Chez Piggy combines a rustic, homey feel with contemporary tastes and fresh cuisine. We had oysters as a starter, which were very fresh and tasty. My main was the duck confit, which was deliciously crispy and accompanied by cheese rissoto. The arugula was a bit of a miss, but the meal was overall delightful. The other entree we had was the daily fish. It wasn't dry and was set off by a rich pepper and tomato sauce. One complaint I had with the place was that it was a bit packed and noisy. The building seemed a little old as well, and footsteps vibrated heavily. Don't come here if you want some quiet intimacy.

Sarah Sklash

Went here while visiting kingston. The mandu potstickers and chicken picatta were so good. Amazing food and vibes.

Peter Guido

Visited in January and received incredible service and the food was delicious. I had the table d'hôte which I would highly recommend. My colleagues chose from the regular menu and were also very happy with their choices.

Gil Strachan

Best place in town, the food was wonderful and they have very interesting dishes for people with explorative palates. Thier bakery is also a great place to have breakfast.

Jason Leslie

Loved the tartar and the duck confit. Service seemed a bit rushed... Mains were delivered to the table before first course was finished.

Isabelle Poirier

I never go wrong with my yearly treat for a delicious meal. Great service. Eating in the courtyard in warmer weather is when I go.

Anouk J

Great service, and the safest Covid protocols of any restaurant I've ever been to. Tash and Jennie were wonderful hosts. Lots of veg and non-veg options, all incredibly flavor-fat-garlic-spicy-ful.

Jenn Steininger

Always delicious food and great service. When busy, it can be hard to hear one another.

Kasia GT

the food is pricey but you pay for what you get! the portions sizes are just right, and there are tons of vegan and gluten free options which i appreciate. staff is super friendly and all interesting people to talk to, bathrooms are kept …

Dan B

Everything was great. It is missing a star just because the menu was thin but what they serve is more than okay.

Zoey Robinson

Check Piggy was a favourite restaurant when I went to Queen's in the '80s and the food was fantastic again. I love the atmosphere of the courtyard.

Stephanie Brogan

First of all I have to say the bread at this place is to die for, and comes with your meal. They have a sister restaurant/bakery nearby where the bread is baked fresh every day. Eat the bread you won't regret it. We ordered oysters too and they were super fresh. The service is definitely the best I've had in Kingston so you won't have any problems there!

Sabine Dixon

Lovely meals...Very Covid aware...slightly pricey

Steve FD

COVID protocols are wayyyyy over the top. No cases Kingston. Waitress and staff were rude. This restaurant has an identity crisis. All over the place with what they offer. Extremely pricey for what you get. Service is lack lustre and doesn’t command the high price tag. Head to red house, aqua terra, olivea and tango July 31 2021

Kathrine FitzGerald

The patio is so charming and peaceful. Love the variety in the menu and the use of local foods. Great staff, covid friendly and delicious food!

Lex Ells

Great service and had B&B...lovely historical building.

Matthew Brnjas

Tried to get in booked solid. Have been there in the past. Found prices a tad bit high and menu seemed a bit limited. Book ahead!

Daniel Floyd

Beautiful limestone building in a downtown courtyard. Small dining area downstairs but comfortable, intimate atmosphere. Service was great and the menu is interesting. Our evening felt special and our server really ensured that we enjoyed our experience.

Alexis Bonneville

Good atmosphere and service. Good practice on social distancing.

Emilia Wojtasiak

We always try and stop by here when we are in town. Love the patio in the summer - so private and welcoming!

Alisha T

Such a lovely place ! The staff is great and the food is good. The patio in the back is cozzy and intimate, as it is sheltered from the noisy street. Indoors, you will be treated with a warm and homy ambiance, set in a authentic historic building.

Pearl Wang

This spot has a great ambiance- We sat inside downstairs. The music was great, not overpowering for a family or friend dinner. Great selection of meals and interesting cocktails, and beautiful fresh bread. The service was excellent, and the food was so delicious! Highly recommend the micro greens salad- it was so so good!

Sherri Canjar

Having heard great things about this place, my girlfriend and I were excited to try this. Maybe it was an off day but we were left feeling disappointed about the service and the food, especially given the price. 1) We were told that there were two people ahead of us on the patio wait-list. Great, we were happy to wait at the bar. We watched four tables clear (two of which remained empty), and a group of three who arrived after us get seated first before we were finally seated 45 minutes later from our arrival time. I suspect they were trying to match up table seating to party size, which is fine, but we wished they were honest about this from the start as we would have opted for an available indoor seat instead of whiling away our time in Kingston. 2) The food was nothing to write home about, which was disappointing given the steep price. The lemon pepper duck wings seemed over fried and dry. The cauliflower steak and lamb three ways were flavourful dishes, but we felt for what we ate, it did not warrant the steep price. Maybe it was locally sourced, in which case we would appreciate the markup. 3) It seemed an off day for the restaurant as tables around us complained about delayed food. 4) The restaurant had craft brews on tap, but the selection was limited. 5) Although the bar was very busy, the bartenders were still very approachable and offered great banter for those of us seated around.

Amna Al-Omari

First server was grumpy and most unaccommodating but the server that came on shift soon after was much better. The food selection was limited but what we did get was okay. Overall we will not return as there are better options around.

Blair Stotesbury

Went here yesterday. Good covid rules. Great wine and food menu. Efficient service great prices and very tasty food!

Deb Oldfield

"Lovin' spoonful" very cozy courtyard, good food and great beer! We ❤d it!

sheetal nijhawan

Love this place. Exceptional and interesting cuisine.

Yulissa carrasco

Omg! I had such a good night. I had the Bravo Ceaser and it was seriously the Bloody ceaser I've ever had. We had the oyster to start and I had the Niçoise Salad. Both really good! My boyfriend had the 3 way lamb and loved it. I recommend this spot for sure!!

Theresa

Great food. Nice atmosphere inside and out. Good prices.

Kevin Smith

Great breakfast type fare served in a quiet and shady patio. Despite the name, they have some great vegetarian offerings. Staff were all helpful and friendly.

Jacqueline N (Jacqspratt)

I love this restaurant. And always have. The main floor is accessible, but the bathroom is a tight challenge.????

Steph C

Everything was great but especially the server !

LamiaBest

Some pretty good food and the service was very acceptable. However, for quite an expensive place (aprx $30/entree), the service was too casual in my opinion. The site itself, old abandoned stable converted into this restaurant, is outstanding.

Mathew Ingram

Chez Piggy is always great and this time was no exception — confit of Muscovy duck was fantastic, and so were the mussels

Noel Hopkins

Great beer.

Helen Dakin

Amazing! Great food!

Laurie & Anthony Galveias

Limited menu and quite pricy. Patio only open during Covid of course.

Jane Gordon

Our favorite restaurant in kingston. Service, food top notch . Will definitely go back.

Andrew Henry

Lovely food, nice atmosphere, Brenda looked after us well. Not cheap. Book in advance on line.

Kris Spencer

Nice variety and great atmosphere. Outside seating has a great atmosphere. Make reservations if going during busy lunch or dinner hours. The wait times arent long if you forget to though

Jay Linden

Great food and atmosphere. The fresh baked bread and local ingredients make it one of the best spots in Kingston.

Mike Haddrath

Cozy and classy spot. Perfect spot for any small social or business gathering.

David Zrihen

Delicious Kingston treat eating at Chez Piggy Restaurant!

Agapi Koutsi

Service was amazing. Plenty of food. Clean place

Stephen Czarnuch

Had an excellent lunch. Service was excellent. Food is very good. Highly recommended.

Steve Mcintosh

I had high expectations for Chez Piggy...a Kingston institution! Unfortunately, I was disappointed. I feel this restaurant has passed its glory days. The service was mediocre, at best. I had to really work to draw out polite words from our hostess and service was very slow. I watched a busboy sweep all of the crumbs from a table he was cleaning onto the floor. My chair kept getting hit by our waitress and she passed between tables. It seems it is more of a factory for tourists than a dining destination. It was loud and there were too many tables jammed in a small space. I'd like to say that the food was a redeeming feature, but it was also mediocre. The bread was unimpressive (served w cold butter), the mezze platter had a couple hits but was mostly made up of duds, and my gnocchi was under seasoned and bland. I think it needs a complete overhaul. I would never recommend it to anyone in its current state.

Wanda C

This place is very cozy and well decorated. The oysters are amazing. The salad was good and the grilled chicken on top was just OK. Heidi the server has worked here over 35 years and is truly a treasure for this place. The covid measures are top notch! Plexiglass shields around EACH table. Thank you so much Heidi!! And kudos to the chef!

J.P. Brichta

Good good for an ok Price. Quiet place. Kids friendly

Marc Bernstein

Selection of food and drink was good, portions were also good. Was a little disappointed at the price compared to the meal itself. Food was good but not exceptional. $$$

Oleksiy Markunin

Very nice staff and a perfectly cooked steak!

Mandeep Gabhi

Chez Piggy is awesome. The service is excellent. The food is innovative. The bar area is cosy. I would love it if Chez Piggy featured live music in the early evening, in the off season months of the year. If you are traveling to Kingston, Chez Piggy is not to be missed.

Juan Barahona

Excellent service and the food is delicious. There were all COVID 19 protocols in place. Food arrived quickly. Oysters were fresh and spot on. The braised beef is a regular winner and the soup was warm enough for the cold weather. Definitely coming back to try more meals.

Neil Fraser

Probably the best place to eat in Kingston, if you are looking for interesting and high quality meals. Server was very personable and professional.

Donald Fields

Excellent menu and friendly service. Located in a beautiful limestone building.

Julian Lam

A neat little restaurant down an alleyway. Portions were smaller than expected but good food nonetheless.

Elizabeth

Verry good super servicios ????????????????????

Majo Ferdinandus

Amazing unique food, beautiful patio.

Jennifer Smith

We were a group of 14 from Montreal and had a beautiful dinner together. We sat outside in their beautifully decorated outdoor patio. The service was excellent and the food was delicious and original. Highly recommend ????

Stefan “Stay” Fulton

Delicious food, wonderful staff and a nice cozy atmosphere. Loved it!

Bradley Jamieson

Every visit is always a pleasant experience. The food never disappoints and the service is courteous and friendly. I love this place.

Jess Wiemer

I think the lustre has fallen off this staple establishment in Kingston. Food selection is a bit dated, drinks options were ok, but my mussels were off. The burger was good, but the salad was bland. Used to visit regularly, think I will pass next time.

Christine Renaud

Excellent food, service and location. Loved everything

Anna Kim

So overpriced!! We ordered the $26 charcuterie board expecting an amazing meal considering their ties to Pancho Ancho (which is an awesome deli) but it was pathetic. Several slices of six different meats with a small bowl of olives in the middle and a basket of bread on the side. Our two Manhattans were made over ice. Still has a lovely time playing crib with my boyfriend.

Desombreville Cheranad

Great patio

Patricia Pielow

Pretty bad. Three of the eight of us ordered their only beef entre and none of us could cut it with our knives without considerable effort. Forgot my wife's dessert which was part of her three course 'special' and then they got her dessert order wrong. Two people got the knocking and the potatoes were hard as a rock. Service was EXCEPTIONALLY slow. Management t did not respond well to our feedback, until the very last screw up, then they credited part of our bill. Too little too late.

Miranda Ballantyne

The food was very good, nice flavours and mix of textures. The creme brulee was incredible. My only complaint is they didn't give me cutlery and with no room on the patio and the fact I'm visiting was not super convenient

Michelle Donaldson Rouleau

Delicious. I had an amazing grilled cheese sandwich (I think a few ifferent types of cheese; brie, smoked cheddar..) and a side of chickpeas with za'atar seasoning. The chickpeas I left..not super flavourful, but the sandwich was awesome. A bit pricey, but nothing crazy. Great pint of MacKinnon Summer ale to go with it. The ambiance of the patio is awesome, you feel like you're in secret place, back in time, and out of the busy streets. ❤️ Beautiful limestone building.

Alison Noelle

Didn't have a great experience. The bread was stale. They didn't have mussels, oysters and other parts of the menu (which is fine, given the current pandemic). However, I had the salmon which was seared to the point of almost being burnt, with almost no seasoning to the fish itself. Amazingly enough, underneath the charred skin above, the salmon was undercooked. This was on top of a rizotto that I'm sure Gordon Ramsey would have thrown right out of Hell's Kitchen. Joking aside, it was undercooked and drowned in it's creamy base. This meal was topped off with almost non existent table service. We ordered the frites aoili as an appetizer, and it took over twenty minutes to get the waitress's attention to get some ketchup for the fries as well. I really think this was one a one-off given all of the positive reviews, but unfortunately we did not have a good time. Given the expensive price tag of the meal, they under delivered. Sadly, we saved this place for my wife's birthday, and because of this we will not attend Chez Piggy again.

Lynn Quartus

Good food. Nice atmosphere. We found it to be a bit expensive for some meals

Serge Ruzhytskyy

Visited this place for a brunch on Sunday. Very cool place, the interior design has a vintage look to it. The patio is in an alley away from the road which is very nice and quite. The food is delicious and has a homy taste. The service is good. We got seated right away and the waitress was very attentive.

Lesley Ferguson

Fantastic food and beautiful atmosphere. The patio is spaced well and we enjoyed everything we had.

michele gervais

Absolutely delicious! We went there for our anniversary, had oysters and some mains, and were delighted!

Ryan Mendoza

It has a good service and the drinks also are good.

Antoine Dumas (Amloiandy)

The food and waitstaff are beyond excellent! There aren't enough stars to award

Valerie Quinn

Can't understand the appeal to this place. Been here a few times for social gatherings and every time the food options are not too appealing and way too overpriced for what you get. The flavours of the dishes are just ok as well. Note: vegetarians love this place so it can be appealing for those who follow that lifestyle Saving stars is the staff -- they are polite and provide good service.

Marjorie Perez

Great evening. The food was interesting as well as very good. Would highly recommend it

Marilyn Ryan

Great experience as always!!!! I love this place.

Jean-Francois Désilets

The food was delightful and the staff were helpful and kind.

Robert Tomkins

Best meal I have ever had. Service, setting, courtyard seating. All above and beyond.

Irena Manoliu

Good experience for the first time! Friendly service and good food. Thank you!

Matthew Moore

This is a lovely restaurant with kind staff and a beautiful atmosphere (having primarily eaten in the patio area). The food is very pricey for fairly small portions, look forward to spending at least 30 on most entrées, but it is well made and gourmet and hasn't disappointed yet. It is a good place for the feeling of a semi-decadent night out.

Nicole Hazel

AMAZING peanut gallery. Superseded expectations ???? >>

Robert Hewitt

The duck wings are delicious! The place is really cute too and the staff are so friendly.

Donna Ledo

Has the feel of a hidden European courtyard patio. Wonderful staff and great food. Dog friendly patio. A great find.

Deborah Kingston

This is one of the best restaurants in Kingston. They do have a wonderful selection of vegetarian and pescatarian options. I love their Cauliflower Steak, and my partner always gets the Linguini Aglio Olio. The outside patio has been absolutely lovely, especially with the heighten care to observe COVID precautions. The staff are friendly and the service is excellent. I highly recommend this place.

Colleen Sadler

Terrific food, charming ambiance, and convenient location downtown make Chez Piggy a favourite stop when visiting Kingston. Our server was attentive and enthusiastic about the food. The lunch menu is reasonably priced and filled with interesting dishes. I recommend the cheeseburger.

Alexander Shayda

Chris was amazing...food was great!!

Carla

FANTASTIC menu, wonderful variety of fine culinary experiences! Nice wine list and very nice selection of scotches and other spirits. Great service.

Chris Sampson

Experience was a real mix. Pig tail appetizer was tasty, while the scallops were bland and lacked any sort of flavourful seasoning, as did the rice on the side. Lamb three ways was the highlight of the meal, especially the little sausage. Creme brûlée was also a disappointment, not sure where the vanilla flavour was. Lots of tables packed in to a relatively small space, so zero privacy for conversation when your neighbors are so very close. For some that may mean nice atmosphere, for us it meant feeling very cramped. Not sure we’d go back.

Betty Chandler

An interesting experience. Great atmosphere and service.

Greg Horton

This was our first visit. One of the finest dining experience from numerous options in North America and abroad over many years. We were impressed with staff, from knowledge of menu, wines, attitude. For seafood lovers, oysters are a must.

Ali Mohanlalkhan

First of all I have to say the bread at this place is to die for, and comes with your meal. They have a sister restaurant/bakery nearby where the bread is baked fresh every day. Eat the bread you won't regret it. We ordered oysters too and they were super fresh. The service is definitely the best I've had in Kingston so you won't have any problems there! I was also here in August and there is outdoor seating during that time of year but obviously not when there's snow outside! Great place for a nice, fairly fancy meal (and reallllllly good bread)

Tammy Brunet

Excellent location, staff, and food!

Greg Maitinsky

Awesome food. Great atmosphere. Lovely waiters. One of my favorite places in Kingston by far. Highly recommended.

keegan hartman

Not much variety to choose from

Christine Miksa

This is still a wonderful restaurant some decades after my first visit. The food is great, and the service is impeccable. However, the decor and finishes are getting a bit tired after 20+ years.

John Raschke

Loved it. Best patio in Kingston! Good food & service....excellent!

Inez Neville

We visited this place twice during a 3 day stay in Kingston. We had a late lunch on the patio the first time and dinner the next night inside the restaurant. This restaurant deserves 5 stars ???? but the 2nd visit subtracted one. Hands down, the first experience was the best. We had a fantastic time. We had a server named Greg, who was an absolute delight. He had us laughing the entire time. He accommodated my picky tastes and checked on us regularly to make sure all was good. The lunch menu offered tasty items and we enjoyed the crab cakes and char dishes we ordered. Also, the desserts were devine, especially the peach almond pie. The patio is a work of art. One of the coolest places I've ever dined. The dinner experience was ok. We had to sit inside because of heavy rains. The food was great and we had the peach almond pie again, but we didn't like where we were seated. The inside is a fair size and has two floors. We we're seated on the ground floor in a corner between the entrance to the washrooms and a set of stairs. Both were used constantly so it was distracting and noisey and took away from an otherwise nice night. We will definitely come back again but we'll stick to lunches and sit on the patio when the weather is good.

Hassan Etmadi

Took my wife there for our 4th wedding anniversary. Had a wonderful dining experience. Ali our waitress was attentive and made excellent recommendations.

Claudine Guerin

Much more expensive than it used to be. Great wine and beer selection. The suck wing appetizers are delicious. However we decided to move on for what used to be an affordable Dini g place has gone a bit too upscale and upmarket for me. Seemed busy enough though so they'll be fine.

Britt Gould

Very nice patio, inside is well set up for COVID protocol. The food is excellent and the service was good. It is well worth a visit in my opinion. Reservations are recommended.

Linda Conner

While eating here, I was told that Pan Chancho and Chez Piggy are owned by the same person. There is not much difference in the quality of food. All excellent dishes and presentation. The waitress we had was a bit stern with us and not very friendly, however she made sure our needs were met.

dirk darnell

Nice place, good food and professional staff.. Our waiter was great! The bread is soooo fresh my sandwich was yummy!! I recommend!! Reserve your place first, we were lucky with our drop in :)

george munoz

Great food, beautiful courtyard.

Kartik Addanki

Nice atmosphere in the restaurant, definitely very cosy. The service was friendly and casual. Our meal was good, but not what you would expect with a $40 entree.

M N

Great food, portions, and atmosphere. A bit loud during peak hours but the outdoor courtyard patio more than makes up for it. Try the duck.

Philippe Maille

Absolutely amazing food and ambience

Roch Delaplace

One of the best patios in Kingston, especially during COVID. I got the steak on one visit, and it was so good I tried it again the next time. The sauce was completely different the second time, somehow making the steak even better than before.

Vicki Taft

Great service. Good selection. Muscles were small.

Maureen Robertson

I had the brie, avacado sandwich and the spices we're to hot for me. The red sangria and service we're good. The selection for lunch was very unimaginative. My wife serves most of their menu at home.

Jason Bakonyi

The menu is very simple not a lot of meat options. It seemed to be directed more towards a vegetarian crowd. I found the food flavours mediocre. The atmosphere is very nice but found the spacing of the tables incredibly uncomfortable, the tables are located very close to each other making it difficult to exit your chair without disturbing other patrons.

Paul Hooey

A great Kingston restaurant. A well thought out menu in an inviting setting (both inside and outside courtyard), had the burger and fries yesterday - great burger, great medley of flavours.

thomas willitts

Very friendly and accommodating staff and great with allergies. Got lovely gluten free bread for the table and had a cauliflower steak with the best sweet potato fries I've ever had!

Marissa Manners

I've been going here with my family for years, always fantastic dishes.. it also serves the bear Ceaser ! I ordered the 3 course pre fixe. It changes according to the day I guess. It started with Salad and croquette, was good. Nice and light... it the portion was small.. for the main, it was rack of boar.

Cameron Lawson

Looking forward to eating in Kingston for our 10 year anniversary. Going to some of our top Restaurants. 1. AquaTerra Chef is amazing & the waterfront views are outstanding and they have comfortable chairs that are not made of wood. *Too bad our cozy River Mill house is fully booked. 2. Booked the Casa Domenico for fine Italian dining, Tried to book Chez Piggy again, but since we are in the Red zone the owner has declined to have us. That's okay if he does not want our money now , we remember restaurants like this, and they will never get our money again! Rated only a 4 Star so we are good with that and will black ball them in the future.

Peter Fedyczko

I have been going to Chez Piggy in Kingston for almost 20 years. The food and service are wonderful, though on the moderate to expensive side. My favorite is the rare roast beef sandwich on sour dough rye. Really delicious! Their "Frites" are just amazing-so good! Rolls and breads are terrific. Desserts also really good. Atmosphere, service, all very warm and comfortable-makes you feel very welcome.

Daniel

We went for supper. We were seated on the main level. We waited then someone brought us water after a while of waiting. Then we waited 15 MINUTES and no one came to ask us what we wanted to drink if anything! There was also a lot of traffic downstairs yet we were still ignored. Also, there was NO ONE ELSE where we were sitting so it's not like no one had time! Plus the upstairs was closed so we could not grab another table. Not very amused by that experience especially for the price you are paying for the food.

Typhaine Lejeune

This place is not cheap at all. They are offering mostly breakfast and snack meals. If your are going for a dinner or lunchtime this is not place for you. Setting in patio chairs is not comfortable. Chair seat cushions are available for patio chairs only on customer demand!

Tony Araujo

Nice ambiance and great staff however duck leg was a little salty and they had not had any mussels for a week. The one dish looking I was looking forward to.

J Hu

A modern, fusion-ish restaurant with Vietnamese spring roll, lime pepper duck wings, and Hoisin BBQ chicken mixed in with long time Canadian staple menu items like steak, lamb and seafood options. For people with Asian culinary background, the Asian inspired menu items can seem very pricey; and, I personally avoid these items just because there are many other more authentic experiences to be had for cheaper. The chef can sometime be a little overzealous with the usage of lime juice, but otherwise very enjoyable 2 dinners so far. Chez Piggy is also well equipped to accommodate kids, though the table real estate is lacking when the coloring book is on the table.

steacy drummond

Had a great time at Chez Piggy. It's reputation for excellent food is well desrved. Our server was friendly and attentive. Crème Brulée for desert is a must have on your first visit. I had chocolate alterNUTive which was fantastic. I need to come back in the summer to try out the patio.

Joe Ventura

Great food and service, we were a group of 6 and had a wonderful time at Chez Piggy

vikram ranade

Excellent food. Excellent staff. Excellent service. Just a totally wonderful place.

pam p

Very good food and professional service. Nice and fairly quiet building which is perfect for conversations. Fried bocconcini appetizers were delicious and should be a regular item.

SY H

it is lovely place. but the server was not friendly at all. prices is too high. very small portion. the pics are not the reality. i dont recommend it at all if you need to have real lunch or dinner.

Donovan Selbye

Went here for a client lunch where we had a party of 10. Ordered a variety of food so had a good sampling of most things on the menu. I had the lamb burger which was good but I wouldn’t say excellent. Aside from that, our entire party was very pleased with all the dishes and the server was very attentive so overall, I was satisfied.

Wanda Costen

FANTABULOUS experience! Great food and wine coupled with attentive, but not invasive service.

John Faustino

Beautiful historic atmosphere, good service, lovely attention to detail with eco-conscious choices in their table settings. The food was delicious and serving sizes were generous without being overwhelming.

Andy Milly

While at the cottage we make special trips in to Kingston so we can eat at Chez Piggy. Delicious food

Rebecca Marshall

I took my wife here for her birthday dinner. It's a lovely spot set within Rochleau Court. It has a great patio with an very nice atmosphere. The menu is innovative, with unique choices that I doubt you'll find elsewhere. The prices are on the higher end, but for the experience and atmosphere, well worth it.

Marc Jollimore

This is my mecca when I travel back to the Thousand Islands. The food is usually very superior but my expensive cheeseburger wasn't so great this time. That's why I gave it only four stars this time.

Gavin Duncan

Went here for lunch and the service and food were outstanding. Dog friendly patio as well. Make a reservation because this place is busy.

Peter Bodnick

A very chic, upscale and trendy restaurant. Dishes are very eclectic using local foods...BUT not for the meat and potatoes kinda guy. Smaller portions of deliciousness, fun atmosphere. Patio is fabulous!

Suzanne and Neil Turner

Was recommended by our concierge to come here; they were spot on! The place is a cozy little rustic place within a beautiful courtyard. A true hidden gem. We tried a number of dishes and each one was better than the last. I recommend everything on the menu. Topped off with some mimosas and coffees.

Саша Кабанов

Never change! This place has served great food, and employed excellent serving staff since the beginning. Still going strong!

Jason Boutot

Service and food was good. A little slow because they were busy.

Margarita Copplestone

Check out the upstairs seating area - love the rootbeer old fashioned to cap off a fresh locally sourced meal. The bread is AWESOME

Maggie Newell

Beautiful patio space. Incredible service. Food was unbelievable!

Sam Mueller

This place is fantastic. I enjoyed the atmosphere and the menu options were sophisticated but with the right prices. I really enjoyed the duck wings, jackfruit appetizer and the sourdough bread. However, the service was a little slow so I stayed longer than I expected.

Clint Wadsworth

What a delightful menu! Can't wait to come back and try more stuff!!

potatoHOLO Wigglemasster

Good food.... Nice place. You can not see it from the street. It is accessed through a clean alley... trendy... live music nearby. Great patio.. the building is an old reclaimed livery.stable. friendly staff.

Sonia Mitchell

One of the best meals we've had. Tasty, delightful with different flavours which were unique and so satisfying. Breads from their bakery, out if this world. Staff were so helpful and gracious, my 65th was just amazing.

Kaili Gabriel

I called from Peterborough to order a gift card for a staff member visiting Kingston. I asked to have it left at the the front desk to be picked up by the recipient. Seamless, easy...the way it should be! Thanks

Jeff Murphy

I have been coming to this restaurant for at least the last 20 years and while the menu has and always does change, the consistency and overall quality of the food has always been a huge success! The staff is as good as the food, too! Also love the restaurant's sister, Pan Chancho!

Jelena Vucicevic

Food definitely overpriced, but not too bad. Dessert was way too sweet, couldn't finish a half of it. Our waiter was very nice but there was a lady (owner or works there) who was enjoying some drinks with some friends and they were so loud (she was- to be specific). I couldn't hear my thoughts! She kept going in and out of kitchen so we had minutes to talk before she comes back and then we kept quiet because it was impossible to talk over her. If she owns the business she should be aware of this,if somebody else owns the business: she's a menace! I doubt I'll ever be back.

Elias Attal

Staff was prompt at the door, very informative about the dining protocols. Food was fantastic as usual! Love the patio atmosphere!

Janick Cormier

Food was good. The kitchen was very slow. I don’t know if they were busy that day or not. The staff were very friendly and handled the situation perfectly

Carolyn Williams

Loved this place! Hidden in a back courtyard in downtown Kingston, surrounded by old limestone buildings and a lot of history. You can dine outside in the secret courtyard or inside in the cozy upstairs or downstairs. We loved our food, which is reasonably priced. They have a good selection of beer, including craft beers, and wines. Service was great. Next time we'll be back for their well-known Sunday brunch.

Ashla A

Holy. Cow. We found this little hidden treasure after doing amazing escape rooms at Improbable Escapes. And boy, were we happy with this pick! The service is incredible, the food is unbelievably good, and the atmosphere is its own genre, like a casual fine dining. Elegant cuisine with a familial vibe. Perfect for a date, a dinner with friends, or for any other occasions! Great wine selection and a appetizing menu. We will definitely be back! P.S. oh, also, their sanitary and safety measures are astounding! Masks up everytime the server approaches and plexiglass between all tables. Truly, we never felt safer!

Mike Schmidt

I've eaten here a few times and I've never been disappointed by the food. The breads from pan chancho are amazing, and really amp up the sandwiches. The vibe is laid back but nice. I like the mismatched napkins and rustic kind f aesthetic. The patio is always a fun choice in summer.

Had a fantastic dinner here the other day. Kid-friendly, with delicious and creative food and great wine list for the adults. Highly recommend Chez Piggy.

Gordana Arizanovic

Large outdoor terras, indoor ground floor and another upper level of seating. Very beautiful location in the core of Kingston. My wife and I went for our 2nd anniversary dinner and was treated right away by the staff as friends. I felt very welcomed. We sat in the outdoor terras and was very well shaded from the sun. Felt like I was in someone's backyard. My wife had muscles and I had a brined chicken dish. Was very tasty and I found everything very properly preportioned. My wife got about 30 muscles and was very satisfied even drinking all the broth. My meal of chicken, potatoes and mixed root vegetables was also very well done to perfection. The portion was enough to be satisfied yet not bloated. Both meals and 2 cocktails came out to $80. CDN.

Lise D

Very good, but was surprised at the lack of meat on the menu for a restaurant with piggy in the name tho haha

Chris Millard

Always a favorite in Kingston. We arrived early for our reservation and the place is always busy (always best to make a reservation) not because they're slow. Rather because the food is very good, service is knowledgeable and not rushed. They made us extremely comfortable in a couple of nice chairs and brought us cocktails. I started with a delicious tomato soup that was just perfect, followed by a beef main with perfectly cooked veggies and potatoes. The pumpkin pie was terrific, and I don't like pumpkin pie. However when they make it (Pan Chengo likely, which is just fine) I somehow like it. Not to be missed if searching for a just perfect restaurant in Kingston. Upscale without being highbrow or narcissistic.

Gerald Coffin

Been here a few times and every visit has been wonderful. Great food, great service. Lovely location. One of the top places to eat in Kingston. Recommended.

Stephane Auray

Great for any meal of the day, awesome food, lovely atmosphere.

Helen Quaresma

Really interesting little hole in the wall, patio is great and has a super cozy feel. The menu is nice and small but has some epic choices....we got the oysters and a order of the duck wings man would order again anytime. Got the cocktail special it was ok but not really my cup of tea. Overall would recommend and highly suggest it to any of my friends

clarkey291

Absolutely amazing experience. Reservations were easy to make and the person I was dealing with went above and beyond. Sorry I don't remember their name. We were a party of 8 from out of town for a birthday, Chez Piggy offered a gluten free cake for my wife who has celiac disease. The menu was magnificent and the food was amazing. They even called during the day because it was raining to let me know that even though our reservation was for the patio that everything would be dry and setup for our group. Amazing customer service and amazing atmosphere. We will be back!

Richard Moller

Location and service were great. I had the Chez Piggy Club Sandwich for a late lunch. Great fresh bread. fillings were disappointing. The sliced chicken was dry and under seasoned. Over all it tasted okay but was bland.

Steve Roberts

Recommended by a few friends so we took a chance and stopped by. Got the last two seats at the bar. Food was amazing and the staff knew the menu inside and out.

Kirk Wall

A lovely evening on the courtyard patio. This is the Summer Fun dessert a light lemon custard on a white cake base with raspberries, an edible begonia flower and a sprinkling of thyme leaves. The soup was a delicious leek and Stilton cheese combination.

Kyle J

Lunch 25 June 2016: Nice shady patio, great for a warm summer day. Friendly, casual atmosphere, interesting menu, nice fresh food. Local beers on tap.

Zach Hughes

The best Italian restaurant

Brian Morris

Food was excellent too bad everything else wasn't. Portions small, prices high, attitude full on, waited to seat w/ reso, waited to eat, told everyone must sign in which is not a bylaw 1 per table is bylaw, did not check to see if we all signed in... Service was over the top almost ... Condescending ... Beer was excellent, venue is unreal. Biggest flaw .. only a change table in the women's bathroom. Where does a guy change a 4 month old ? Be better it's 2021 ... What a location and taste but everything else... Wouldn't recommend...

Gillian Carson

Superb location for a meal. Steak sandwich was excellent. Great service

Ralph Kramden

Went to chez piggy with a reservation. Line was huge. Asked everyone in line if they had reservation they answered yes. Waited 20 minutes after reservation time. People before us - announce no reservation but insist server go check it out as the know the owner. 15 mins later and several attempts to find them a spot - they are turned away. In the meantime A very pretty girl jumps to the front of the line and it is her the maitre d goes to. We intercede and say she jumped the queue and she says her mom forced her to (about 30 people behind us). Anyways we get seated and we see her seated right after us even after they knew she jumped the queue. Anyway. Waitress served us and then forgot us in the back corner. Two hours later finally we got our food after we asked the relief waitress asked if we wanted anything and we said our food would be nice (our waitress was on break after working so hard that she changed her whole outfit out during the break). The grilled cheese was not grilled and the club sandwiches were not not on toasted bread. Disgusting and very unfortunate as I live in the area and loved Chez Piggy. I was very embarrassed to have brought my friends here.

Cristian Tesa

Fantastic service and food. An excellent night out for a fancy feel.

Yatsa Smajovic

Excellent place. The decor is very nice. The atmosphere is very good. The food served here is very delicious. I liked the place very much. I will obviously visit again for sure.

Tonya Massine

Delightful food, served by very knowledgeable staff. Great settings and surrounding. Looking forward to dine there again.

Troy McMillan

Amazing steak! Fantastic service.

Carol Beauparlant

Wonderful ambience... staff was great with very personable presence.. food was amazing and liked the portion sizes...left feeling full but not stuffed... Spanish coffee was awesome.

craig wilson

It was ok. I'd say a bit over priced. Ceaser salad was flat but server offered me a free drink to make up for it. Food took forever, around 2 hours to get our mains. They forgot the cheese on the salad and when we told the waitress she forked through our salad at our table. Potatoes where cold, meat was dry. Just an overall lack of attention paid from the moment we walked in until the moment we left. I'd go elsewhere if you have the choice. The place has a cool building but I won't return here or recommend it to anyone.

Derekhe1988

We visited this restaurant for the first time today. We ordered oysters, a club sandwich, and a kids crispy chicken meal. Food was amazing. Staff were friendly. We strongly recommend this restaurant!

Nancy Carriere

The charm of this restaurant is undeniable. However, the food was not up to snuff - at least when we ate there - a Sunday night. The linguini had about a cup of oil in the bottom of the plate. The grilled chicken in the Waldorf Salad was barely cooked though not raw... The server was nice but dd not ask why we sent 3/4 of the food back....Maybe this was a one off mistake or a bad night....Kind of hoping that it was.

Stephanie Simonyi

Excellent service, tasty meals, delicious desserts, pleasant ambience. The only negative would be the price, but nice for a treat.

Fraser Milne

Clever location. Unoriginal menu. Cream in everything. No lactose free options. No substitutions were humoured. Chef was downright rude to wait staff due to a simple gnocchi potential sauce change - no go. Much better options in Kingston for this price point. $$$ with the attitude to go with it.

Kermit Ester

Love Chez Piggy! The food was stellar. Sangria was amazing. The patio is adorable and cozy. Our server was funny and charming (I think his name was Tim). Great place to visit in Kingston and we will be back!

Mengyue Yang

It’s a little bit expensive. We ordered Tom yum soup, beef tartare, and 2 main dishes. However we 2 people are not full, that shocked me. Duck leg is great, and Tom yum soup I love most. The environment there is great! It’s good to try but may be not the best choice to go there for many times in the future.

Jim Wadleigh

We heard about this place being a staple in Kingston so we decided to try it. Beautiful restaurant inside and outside. Cozy bar indoors. Great outdoors patio, resembling an European bistro. Good service. Large wine menu. Interesting food menu with the special of the day being very popular. We had the chicken (Pichotta de Mediterraneo) and the scallops (black, white and green). Both delicious and very well made. Portions were full filling and prices were mid range. The restaurant lives to its expectations!!!

Rasheed Hamed

I think I was a little too excited and expected a little too much based on the reviews online. I was here for my birthday dinner and to my surprise the dishes were a bit of hit and miss. The Lamb with orzo was cooked to perfection whereas my friend's fish was overcooked and quite dry. It also needed a tad bit more seasoning. The dessert was little under whelming as the sides of the cake were super dry and crisped due to the exposure to the air, so it didn't seem very fresh. I absolutely loved the bread which is sourced from panchancho. Also, we were sitted right at the top, near the edge of the stairs and as a result someone or the other kept brushing past us or bumping into us. It was quite weird since we did have a reservation.

Gerald Pryal

Delicious food ???? nice place ???? and good service ????

Gabrielle Poisson

Always love to stop in here and have a drink at least when we visit the city. The patio is awesome and this place is just tucked in an alley making it very quaint. Do yourself a favor, stop in... you will definitely fall in love with its charm

Steven C

The food was amazing! We had the duck wings and lamb three ways. Yum!! The service was good, too. We were really happy overall.

iurie baciu-mihailov

Nice cozy place. Food was great. Service was spectacular.

Chad VanDerVeen

Great food, beautiful setting, superb service

peggy goslin

3 of us had a delicious lunch here. What gorgeous surroundings, once you find the place. It is tucked away and worth the search. The stone walls of this previous livery stable make it a unique dining experience. We had the spring roll salad, the Norwegian trout salad, more springrolls and soup du jour. oh yes, finished off with the Sticky Toffee Pudding...good but the banana and chocolate do not match up with the original recipe. The main dishes were all so tasty and beautifully presented. Our server was cheerful and efficient. We’ll definitely return

Sandy Campbell

Even on a day when it was very busy, we had a great lunch here. Good food and good service. We had mushrooms on sourdough toast and a warm trout Dallas. Both were delicious.

Dave Knott

Omg... delicious. Our server was sooooo great!!!

Laila D

Great patio. Staff is great food is amazing

Chez Piggy is a mainstay of the Kingston food scene, and I have been for lunch on several occasions and been very pleased. However, last night I went with my family (party of 11) and I walked away incredibly underwhelmed and disappointed. It started with a server who made mistakes when informing us of the specials (so that when 5 of our party received their meals it was not what was expected). Then when I asked for a minor substitution of one of my sides I was made to feel like I had asked for international crisis intervention. She continued to be rude and dismissive of the guests I was dining with, which included parents and grandparents. I don't think that it is crazy to expect that your water be refilled during your meal - I guess I was wrong! When the food came it was sub-par and not worth the prices being charged. I will say that four of our party enjoyed their meals, however the rest of us were not satisfied. Overall the service and quality of food was not worth the $600-700 bill that was paid! I would not recommend this restaurant to anyone eating out in Kingston - there are so many better options!!

Matthew Cooper

Beautiful restaurant. Pleasant waitress. Wanted to be wowed, but it was just ok, especially for the price.

Steven Kelly

Held our wedding reception at Chez Piggy. The staff and management were very accommodating. We were very impressed with the service and our guests all complimented the quality of the meal.

Michael Robinson

It was great. We both had some lightly cooked oxtail, with little scallops on the side, and a lovely salad. $170 for two, including tips but no alcohol. The diet coke was completely flat, so I complained, and the delightful waitress brought me another formerly carbonated coke to replace it.

Lindy Hay

Chez Piggy used to be the go to, awesome night out. Good food, great atmosphere. I dined there twice in a row and was terribly dissapointed on both occasions. The food the first night was mediocre at best. The steak which we ordered "on the rare side of medium rare" came on the very well done side of well done. The second night, I ordered the tuna. We were told that "the chef will only cook this to medium done, no more than that". I thought awesome! So I ordered it rare. It came so we'll done it resembled a can of chunk tuna. This was a 35$ piece of tuna. I of course returned it and ask that it be cooked rare. It came a second time slightly less flaky than a can of tuna. The tea after dinner was lukewarm for at least half our table. The chocolate cake was super dry. So dissapointed in Chez Piggy. Don't think I'm up for a 3rd strike. Sorry.

Robert Whiteman

Had a wonderful meal here last week. Mussels Nduja, Fish of the evening (haddock, basmati, lemon/caper sauce). Both incredible. Richie Rich for dessert (OMG!). Nickerbocker coffee. Exquisite food/drinks and wonderful staff/service.

Jennie Hilwerda

Nice atmosphere and good food and drink. Informed servers. Nice patio for the summer.

Susan Prange

Muscovy duck was crispy & delicious & the shrimp appetizer & spring rolls disappeared in a flash. I loved the rustic atmosphere.

Sandy Bowser

Excellent food. Service was also excellent.

Anne Gniazdowski

Good food .

David Rodrigues

Great food, great service. Charming interior

Eric Naud

Excellent! Arrived at my reservation time, did not have to wait. Service was friendly and professional. Food was great and well sized (club sandwich and trout on baby kale). Outside venue among the lime stone courtyard is quaint and cozy.

I have been going to Chez Piggy and it never disappoints. I just came home from one of the best lunches I have ever had. Some of the staff have been working in the restaurant since it opened and that also says something great about the place and how it is run. Chez Piggy is an institution in Kingston, you won't be disappointed.

Darren Matthews

Fantastic food, cozy atmosphere, very friendly service!

Jean-Philippe Héroux

Delicious cuisine and comfortable dining.

Alan Young

One of my fav spots...always love their food, service and atmosphere outside in a garden-like setting. We had a couple of orders of oysters that were simply fantastic, shrimp, and a smores dessert. The Italian pinot grigio paired lovely with the seafood.

Lacey Lorbert

Good place ... and very good food..!

Judy Caterini

A few days ago I returned from 6 weeks vacation on the French Riviera. I was eager to have lunch with friends and I welcomed Chez Piggy's new menu, that listed one of my favourites: smoked salmon platter with arugula salad, priced $16. The price encouraged me to believe that the platter will be loaded with smoked salmon and some salad in the middle. Not so at all. The plate came with a good serving of arugula salad, a fresh bun sliced and two rounds of butter. In the middle, almost hidden by the salad were 4 or 5 small slices of salmon. I was disappointed and felt that the menu should really say: arugula salad with smoked salmon, but who would pay for it $16??? I felt that the menu does not give the correct description and I was mislead into expecting something else.

N M

It was our first time at this wonderful restaurant. We were not disappointed between the oysters, the spring roll salad, pizza of the day and gnocchi. Very pleasant atmosphere, our server was accommodating and cheerful. It was a lovely lunch. Will definitely return with some more friends and/or family. Thank you.

Kelli Wallace

Good food great service. Beautiful restaurant!
