REVIEWS OF Stonefire Pizzeria IN Kimberley

Phyllis Snyder

Went to this place and had a wonderful meal and experience! We had several appetizers to share... the artichoke dip was excellent as was the shrimp. I had the pepperoni pizza which was flavourful and had my favorite thin crust style. Also loved my husband's chicken parmesan which had excellent texture and flavor. The staff at and owner kept us happy and laughing. Overall we had a wonderful experience and would go back in a heartbeat! Highly recommend!

Carter Nagel

Excellent food and service, very good stone fired pizza

Martin Santo

Great thin crust pizza, salads and pasta dishes.

Jayinjulia

Best bolognese spaghetti in Canada! Definitely outstanding pizzas in Kimberley! We were so happy to have great launch yesterday. Thx!

Marc B

THE place to go in Kimberley for wood fired pizza! Great service, awesome pizza, and frosty beer on tap. Right in the middle of the platzl next to the giant cuckoo clock. Good wine list, and gluten free options too.

Gemma Darcy

Delicious food. Lots of allergies in our group and Andrea our server was extremely helpful. 10/10 recommend.

Went skiing at Kimberley and got recommended this place. Ordered two pepperoni pizzas for takeout and let me tell you, our experience was horrible. 1. Ordering was very messy. There was no breakfast-lunch-dinner separation on the menu, so all the foods were crammed together. A lot of the dishes we wanted were "for dinner", and the employee on the line was very uncertain about the schedules and menus. 2. Quality is terrible. Complicated drive there, only to find out each pizza was 20 dollars + tax ($30). Two of them was $60 total. $60. That's super expensive for only two pizzas. It made us think the pizza quality must be really good right? Nope. When we opened it up later, not only was the pizza super thin, the crust was completely burnt, and we had to rip it all off. For at least half of the pizzas, there was barely any cheese, and the toppings were wet and slippery. Probably one of the worst experiences I've ever had at a restaurant ANYWHERE. Definitely not ordering again. Very disappointed. In short: - Complicated - VERY expensive - Pizza is just bad quality for the price. Complete let down. Giving it a two star because I know it's a small business in their trial stages, so these mistakes are mandatory, but after reading other reviews and having an experience of my own, this restaurant really needs to be more reasonable, and definitely for professional.

The Ceasar salad was to die for and the pizza was excellent too. The atmosphere in the restaurant was unique with the stone fired oven out for everyone to see

Michele Galavan

Love their pizzas and pastas. Their meatballs are to die for. Service can be slow at times but it's a relaxed atmosphere so go to enjoy

Joanne Williams

Awesome. Great pizza and brushetta was really great. Atmosphere was perfect. Thank you for a great evening.

Moss Hopper

Super food. Wings and pizza are great. Super slow service though. Plan on two hours. Well we were back again today for takeout. Arrive at 430 when they opened. The oven was not ready even though there was a lineup. Almost an hour later got our food plus an extra pizza because we had to wait as they tossed one of ours on the floor. The wings were missing their dipping sauce which is why we ordered them. So sad. Please send me a message with an offer to buy your restaurant. You run it so poorly but the food is so good. Back again at 8pm. So understaffed they could not even do take our. Now down to 2 stars.

royston dsouza

Have tried 4 pizzas on the menu and all have been fantastic. The dough is soft and delicious. Toppings are great quality, and the staff is very accommodating of any allergies.

John Phillips

Good pizza. Through no fault of the staff, the size of the pizza oven slows the service down considerably. Not a reason to not eat there. The wait is worth it

Kim Crockett

Very friendly service! Love their patio for sitting outside enjoying some drinks with friends, but the pizza is not exactly my preference. My partner didn't enjoy it very much either, but maybe we just don't like the burnt taste unique to a wood oven pizza ????‍♀️ My favourite part was the hot sauce to drench it with! ????

Shilo Davis

I had the "soup and sandwich" and a glass of red wine for lunch. It was AMAZING. The soup was fresh and hearty, the sandwich flatbread was so yummy, and they definitely didn't skimp on filling. The house red was perfect with it. And the server was super friendly. Definitely will go back while I'm here.

Jim Isaak

The food was excellent. We loved the shrimp appetizer and the Mediterranean Pizza was excellent. Our server was distracted and rushed us due to a large party coming in later. Otherwise it was a very fine meal.

Ian Gorton

Casual and modern space serving fab pizzas and a range of tasty appetizers. Meat balls were good. Isabella pizza excellent. Really enjoyable place to chow and hang out.

TheBrenno1981

Damn fine pizza. Awesome service, prompt and friendly. Damn fine pizza. Nice atmosphere. Love the open kitchen and kids loved the "twirly guy". Damn fine pizza. The only reason for not going is being in jail, if you are in jail, break out. Damn fine pizza

Fiona Graham

Excellent food, excellent service

Granden and Myra Bertrand

Myra loves the pizza here. This kind of piZza is her favorite. Thin crust but a little chewy, fresh toppings, perfectly cooked. She had the Trek and loved it. I on the other hand, can't handle all the gluten, and the gluten free crust is just not the same. The toppings are still great (I had the double bacon) but the taste and somewhat dry gluten free crust was not the best. There is better gluten free pizza in town. The toppings are top notch, and the normal crust if you can handle it, is awesome. The service was good. Patio is good for early evening sun.

Ash Hanson

Good food, not cheap, but expect to spend at least 45 minutes waiting for your pizza.

Philippe Lurol

A wonderful Pizzeria in the heart of the Platzl. I came for my 31st birthday with my brother, fiancé at the time and a good friend. We were not disappointed with the quality of the Italian style, fire cooked thin crust pizza. The flavors were forward and hit the pallet with confidence. We ordered a few different pizzas and each were as different as they were delicious. As I am from Europe myself, I really enjoyed being thrown back into a culinary tour right from the comfort of my current town. The room adornments and atmosphere were exactly what I needed, a little more on the fancy side than one comes to expect from the small town of Kimberley. The sleek modern interior, merged with the oldness of a wood fire oven made for quite an experience. The local brews brings the experience back home while the smell of the fresh baked pizza lets you believe you are travelling the streets of Mediterranean Europe. The price matches the décor, and although it was a bit on the steeper side, it was well worth it for the quality of the food and the attentiveness of the staff. We did not have time to want for anything as our waiters were on top of their game. Given the chance, I would happily return to this place, I certainly have enjoyed myself there despite taking a good fall after slipping on some ice at home getting into my truck. This restaurant was so good I forgot about the pain from the fall, which should give you a good idea of how good the experience was.

Rene Steenkamp

We love coming here every time. Food is great. Wonderful atmosphere - especially when sitting outside in the sunshine. The staff are very friendly and have always made great recommendations.

Jorge Dominguez

The harvest pizza is exquisite! The staff is kind and attentive. The atmosphere is like no other. Great experience, thank you so much for such a great service.

Agnete W. I.

Great pizza place and cool interior. Staff very friendly as well!

Steven Swagar

Great food, great atmosphere and great service each visit!

Amanda N

Loved the decor, our server was very nice, and the food was delicious. Our party of three was the only table in the restaurant at about 1pm, which was nice and , until the owner came in and decided to turn the music up loud enough to prompt us to ask the server to turn it down so we could talk at a normal level. After she did so, the owner remarked 'I guess now we have no music', our server explained that we had asked to have it lowered, and, with a glance at us (still the only table seated in the place), she said 'it doesn't have to be -that- low' and turned it back to where she liked it. She also stopped a server carrying food out to the patio so she could take pictures of it, while the customers waited. I give the restaurant a 4, and the owner a 0, with a recommendation to brush up on the concept of customer service.

Mark Kary

It has really glorious pizza. Heard the cesar salad is excellent. Friendly staff. Nice place to eat inside or outside. Worth it all in my opinion.

Alana Krushen

Staff were incredibly welcoming and accommodating of a video project being filmed on their patio. SO APPRECIATED!

Konstantin Neykurs

Great place. It was super busy due to Spartan races but service was awesome and they truly tried hard to accommodate everyone! Definitely will come back!

Donna Gauthier

Sue, Thank-you, for the wonderful Food & Stellar Service. Awesome Place for dinner on the patio. See you again!! ???? Malcolm & Donna Edmonton AB

Rafael Baillie

Awesomeness. The owner is super friendly, and the food is amazing! I would recommend it to anyone who likes pizza, and anything else that can be cooked in a wood fired oven! Delicious!

Heide Wright

I've eaten at this place before, the food is great, the service is poor. Today I Googled their website as I wanted to have some lunch there and it said they were closed. As a result I found a great Mexican restaurant called Burrito Grill in Kimberley, then I walk down the platzl and guess what the Stonefire was open. They have such poor management, all you can do is shake your head at them.

Liz Royer

Best Pizza in the Kootenays. Real stone fire cooked pizza with good variety of cheeses. Felt like Pizza and look at the customized boxes for our take out!

Emily malbeuf

service wasn’t great , and i understand it was busy i have been a server myself and understand it can be hectic, but we had to sit almost 30 minutes for our order to even be taken. and another server walked past us multiple times and thought maybe he would take our order since it was visible we had been waiting a long time. we also weren't asked if we wanted anything to drink besides the water and weren't given time to ask because our server was mostly outside on the patio . food was okay i did expect it would be better than it was. can say i was disappointed.

Nick Fenton

Really good pizza and a great atmosphere. When the staff was around it was awesome. However, we were forgotten about several times. The first was when we inquired about getting a desert. The waitress went to check to see if they had any and never came back. The second time was when a different waitress gave us the bill. We waited to pay but she too never returned. We had to find another waiter at the front.

Kurt p

They were out of almost everything. Not much kids options. Service was lacking. NEver asked if I wanted another beer. Pizza was good but small and had no cheese. No screaming hell.

Lucas .A

My pizza came out in 17:50.34 and it tasted excellent

Courtney Enns

Love the food here! The mediterianian pizza is my favourite. I also love that lactose intolerance can be accommodated here.

Patrick M Blackmore

An absolute Gem! They strive so hard for authenticity. Pizza cooked in a stone fire oven and topped with plum tomatoes sauce and other Italian/Canadian ingredients; if you have ever been to Naples or anywhere in Italy, this pizza will take you back in a bite! I highly recommend Stonefire to everyone! Best pizza in the kootenays for sure.

Hermann Vogel

Food was amazing. Pizza was incredible, dough was airy yet crisp. Pasta was rich and creamy. Only issue I had was how loud the restaurant was, just the layout of it tends to make it noisy.

Philippe Giroux

Just picture this : you're half way through a perfectly crafted Makers old fashioned and you're watching your freshly made pizza getting thrown in the oven right in front of you. Two amazing singers are performing one of their last songs, Sweet Caroline, and the entire place goes completely nuts. So good (so good, so good). + bonus points if you're STONED. lol :) Cheers!!

Colin Suggett

Great pizza and staff were fantastic. Andrea was a gem. She recommended the charcuterie Ceasar (Stonefire Ceasar) and it was phenomenal (although very spicy so be warned)

Anita Badovszky

Great place with friendly staff and amazing food. The pizzas are amazing quality, not too thin and crispy, but had a nice and soft dough with great flavours. One of the best places in Kimberly.

Ried Derheim

Great pizza! Understaffed but worth it if you have time.

Logan Jameson

We stopped in for a belated valentines dinner and the food was wonderful. We had the Italian Meatballs to start and they were absolutely delicious. We had The Trek and The Cure pizzas and both were great. We will definitely be back next time we are in town.

A G

Good place to get nice pizza. Unfortunately waiting time for 40minuts little bit long .

Glenn McCormick

The double bacon pizza is simply the greatest tasting pizza I have had in my entire life. I think of it every once in a while. I devoured the deliciousness after completing a Spartan Ultra in July 2018 and will be returning for another race in July 2019. Sometimes I ask myself if I'm returning for the race, or returning for the pizza?

Tiffany Massey

Food and drinks were absolutely delicious and our server was very friendly. The hostess however was NOT. We could tell she was stressed which is understandable however she huffed and sighed when we were trying to get a table. She also wouldn't listen, we kept saying we wanted a patio table (there was only 1 table in use out there) and she kept saying inside was too full we'd have to keep waiting, unless we wanted a patio table. We repeatedly said "Yes, patio please" and then she tried to seat us inside. We said "no we'd like the patio please" and she looked at us like we we're inconveniencing her and said "oh I didn't know that". Very very disappointing hostess.

Alex Grzesiak

Overall a great place for dinner! The excellent: The greeter was super fun and interactive. The pizza was excellent The wings were worth it The bad: The wait. We waited for salads for 45 minutes and pizza 30 after that. The salads ended up being comped but it was a bit frustrating.

David Dornian

Slow, mistaken service. Pizza was excellent. Friends pasta was rewarmed and tasteless.

Samuel Kerr

The food was good! However we were left waiting a ridiculous amount of time with pretty vague service. It was close to an hour until we got our order, and the restaurant was barely half full. Again, good food but the wait made us want to eat somewhere else next time

Elisabeth Gelb

Great service. Great pizza, beer and dessert. Funky decor. What more can you want?

Donna-Belle Smith

This place was great friendly service. The food was awesome. I definitely recommend this place.

David J Humphries

Pizza was very grease and just ok make better pizza my self

Ben Janes

Was here for a wedding, the manager and servers catered to us the entire evening. Lovely service and even better food.

sandra small

Was a high recommendation to eat here. We are from out of town, Not impressed at all. Saturday afternoon only 1 waitress. Watching the waitress clean the tables was sad to say the least. Only wiped parts of table. We Ordered chicken wings ( undercooked) and1/2 order beet salad. The salad was dry. Very little dressing. The chicken wings came within10 mins but our salad took 20 mins. Forgot my garlic toast. Never came to ask how our food was. Definitely will not be back or will not recommend.

Jessica Todosichuk

Great pizza! Friendly staff! Cool decor!

Colleen McGrath

Excellent gluten-free pizza!

Kevin Hogg

I had such high expectations for this place as I love pizza prepared this way. So disappointed. The pizza was undercooked and was not hot when served. Soggy crust, tasted fine but poorly prepared.

Lacie Van Der Toorn

Fantastic food very friendly staff and they were able to accommodate all of our dietary restrictions vegan gluten-free nut-free

Melanie Dawn Whitnack

So delicious! I've enjoyed a great meal every time that I've gone. Service the last time I was there was excellent. The patio is lovely to sit out on in summer and fall.

Adam Gordon

Pizza game strong. Service game acceptable. Drink game acceptable. 5/7 would go again

Victor

We are very disappointed, we came to waited around in Kimberly until 4:30pm specifically to eat here today. It's now 4:50pm we arrived at 4:20pm, early expecting to wait 10 min. They are inside but not open. Called to confirm opening time was correct, twice. Both times went to voice which also states they open at 4:30pm. If they were running behind they could have extended the courtesy of just letting those waiting outside know. Being In the industry I find this extremely unprofessional and are going to pedal & tap.

Terry Felton

Good food Service was good but understaffed

Erin Thompson

Being celiac and allergic to dairy proves hard finding suitable places I can actually eat at, but they were amazingly accommodating!!! The owner Sue ensured no cross contamination, and they even have dairy free cheese! The food was sooooo good and the server's super friendly ❤️

Riley Irwin

Love this place! The waitress we had a was a hoot and full of energy! For starters we had both the bruschetta and brussel sprouts with garlic aioli sauce(sooo good, ask for extra sauce you won't be disappointed) main meal was the BBQ chicken pizza. Drizzle a little bit of there BBQ sauce and your extra garlic aioli on there and that pizza will disappear fast! Definitely recommend this place!

Craig Patrick

Amazing food. Busy Friday night on the beautiful patio. Took a bit longer for the meals as they were slammed but well worth the wait. Staff very friendly.

Mark Fercho

The food here is great! The pizza is cooked with real fire and smells amazing. The Pedal and Tap next door is busier as a hangout but this place has good food and service. Music is a tad loud sometimes for talking at dinner, otherwise awesome, with fun service staff!

Kirsten Hodgson

We went to Stonefire when it opened and it was terrible, went for pizza and they had no cheese!! So a few years later we thought let's give it another try. Well bad choice....we waited for over an hour for our pizza! It was not very busy, a weekday night. My pizza came out, I lifted a piece up and all I got was some crust..the rest of the pizza was a pile of sloppy mess on the pan...was this grey slime looking disgusting mess. Now I will say our server was awesome and offered to have a new one made but it took an hour to get that!! Wasn't waiting for another. We will NOT be trying it again

Greg Funk

Went for a long bike ride and finished with an excellent pizza and local beers on the patio. Apparently the pizza wasn't perfect so they brought another. Both were very good. End of a great day!

Kevin M.

Best pizza in kimberley! Well worth a visit if you are in the area.

Susan Mauer

Great food big portions.

Taylor Searles

Delicious pizza and great service, the clock can get annoying next door but is still a draw

Ina Arguste

Great food, friendly service. Had a wonderful time.

Fernando Valencia

Kimberley without Stonefire is not complete. The quality and supreme taste is only surpassed by its service.

The Wrights

Today we ordered pizza that came to us with big pieces of uncooked cheese and the crust was soft, soggy and doughy. Clearly they didn't heat their pizza oven to 900 ° as they claim. Today's chef isn't a chef at all. We enjoy this place normally, it seems they just don't care. They need some good competition on the platzl, maybe then they will give a darn about what they serve to their customers and how.

Dwayne Smith

Really love the atmosphere and pizza ????

Sean Allen

Super great thin crust pizza, nice atmosphere. The servers were attentive!

Dwayne Mlynarczyk

Great service and one of the best pizzas I ever have eaten.

m Fuller

Pizza was good a little thin for the price staff was friendly

Clayton Raddis

Great food and friendly people

Ryan James

Second time giving this restaurant a try. Both times service was very poor. My first experience was a lunch, took well over an hour to get our food. Second time the service was worse. Waiter sat us, dropped the menus off, came back about 20 minutes later to take the order. Pizza didn’t take long this time however it was undercooked and a bit soggy. The waiter never came back once to top up drinks or ask how our meal was. Had to track down another waitress for our bill. The pizza would have been good if the crust was fully cooked. Really don’t feel it’s worth the $24 for the pizza and the service is just not there. It’s nice to go to a restaurant and feel as though the waitress or hosts are happy to have you as guests. Felt unorganized and inexperienced servers. There was only 3 tables in the restaurant so it wasn’t like it was overly busy that they didn’t have time to check up on our table.

Karl

Good food, great vibes!

Elle Roy

My mom and I went for supper yesterday and it was really nice. The pizza had nice thin crust which we loved.

Lindsay Shearer

EXCELLENT pizza and salads. Stopped in here for late lunch after skiing, quick and friendly service, moderately priced. Highly recommend.

Braxtyn Billey

Really great food but slow service since there are only 1 or two waitresses. Worth the wait though

Stephanie Moore

We had excellent pizza, excellent service, and top notch coffee at our visit! Love the industrial atmosphere, and the dipping sauces are to die for. Will definitely be back!!

Corey Backman

Excellent service and fantastic pizza. Great patio in the heart of the platzl.

Paul Cyr

Wonderful tasting pizza... had take-out to enjoy the park outside.

Chris Broughton

Food was great. Service was slow and not customer focused. We received our menus once we sat down and our server took 15 minutes to show up and then asked what we wanted to order even before drinks were offered. Once I had finished a drink, it took 10 minutes for our server to come by and offer another.

Ryan Steer

Beautiful restaurant, lackluster pizza. Only one size and overpriced in my opinion

Loni Davis

Great experience here for me and the fam. Pizza was delicious, looking forward to coming back next time I'm in town!

Jack Sandberg

Loved this place! Super food and super service!

Catherine Rogers

Very good pizza and the largest amount of pepperoni I've ever had anywhere. And very good service too. 10 out of 10!

Katie Brown

Found a hair embedded in my pizza. Honestly ruined the entire experience. Service slow. Food mediocre and costly. Disappointing to see management is doing nothing to address poor reviews or create a better experience.

Angie Savoy

The food has always been good but this time the service was also great thanks to Katelyn!

Anne Crossley

We went on a Thursday after the Farmer’s Market. The food was mediocre and sloooooow to arrive. We have eaten here before and enjoyed it a lot. But not tonight. Obviously they were short-staffed. The staff they had tried hard, but couldn’t handle the crowd. The “hosts” had a very poor attitude. We said we left messages to try to get a reservation. Their response was “oh, we don’t listen to our voicemail.” So, maybe give them a try but not on a busy night.

P W

Excellent pizza! You can definitely taste how the quality and freshness of theIr ingredients make the difference from ordinary to extraordinary. Their chicken parmigiana was fantastic as well. Pretty good wine selection and the beer on tap was good and fresh.

Lis Alberta

We went to the restaurant second time on Friday May 17 around 6:30pm. That's our a second time although we have been coming to Kimberley often - we have a condo there. Our first time was a fairly good experience. The pizzas were tasty, the artichoke dip appetizer was delicious. Service was so so but it was busy so we understood. However, our second time will be the last. Like many negative reviews, the restaurant was half full but we had to wait for 20 minutes for the appetizer to arrive - how long does it take to heat up a dip and throw in some crackers? That's okay, we were not in a hurry. For two pizzas and a pasta we had to wait for another half an hour. It's a little unusually slow. But we were still patient until the food came out. The pasta was hot and tasty but the pizzas were not even warm!!! How come? ten steps from the hot oven and they were already this cold? When we asked the waitress to come see them she seemed to have known the problem. She asked if we would want them to make "fresh ones"(?). Another 50 minutes? We said no. The problem did not stop there. Like in some previous reviews, it seemed the restaurant had run out supplies. For the pineapple pizza, you would have to look closely to find each wedge had a tiny piece of pineapple at a corner and few curled pieces of meat "dancing" on the top. The other pizza was a little better but both did not have the greens on top. Yes the crust is awfully thin except around the edges. We just rolled them up, there was very little toppings so that was the way we ate pizzas... So no more.

Bette Chadwick

Thin crust pizzas were great but thumbs down on gluten free.

Teressa Wall

This was probably the worst experience I have ever had for pizza. Not only was it a small fortune just for 4 pizzas but the pizza was God aweful. It was cold, hardly any toppings, the crust was terrible and the pizza was extremely small. This place is overpriced and the worst pizza I have ever eaten. Save your money and just drive into cranbrook.

Emma Hignett

Been here a few times. Pizza is delicious, but service is often ridiculous. On 2 occasions we waited 30 mins before they even asked us if we want a drink. Once ordered pizza is usually reasonably fast.

Squishy

Great service. Stayed open later for us. Food was hot a delicious. Good portions and presentation. Friendly staff

Jared DeVries

We have been into the Stonefire twice now. The first time the food wasn't that great, it lacked flavor and was very salty. Today though it was amazing. We ordered bring home the bacon pizza and the crust was nice and thin, was loaded full of flavor and nothing was to salty. The food was just excellent we were really impressed. But doesn't matter how good of food a restaurant has if the service is terrible it just ruins the hole experience and meal and I will say from last time and this time the Stonefire has terrible service. Today our servers name was Andrea and there was nothing quick or good about her service, well except for the first 2 mins when we sat down and she brought us water and menus. We ordered our food right away since we already knew what we wanted to eat and then waited for her to come back to take our drink order. After watching her walk by us 5 times ruffly 15mins of waiting my wife stopped her and said we are ready to order drinks well a drink cause she won't come back anytime soon to ask if you want another one but the Ceasar was descent. We where happy to finally see our food show up and thankful there was nothing wrong with it cause again she vanished after dropping the food off and didn't show up till we were almost done to see how it was tasting and if we needed anything. Well it was a little late but a nice gesture I guess. After we were done I was happy to see someone else quickly come over and clean off our table and bring us our bill. Overall the food was good this time around but the service was terrible. Oh and if anyone's wondering she got a big fat $0 for a tip. Oh and it was dead inside as well.

debbie wiebe

Very good food and the service was absolutely fantastic!

Joanne Warholik

Love the food, service is always great and people are warming!!!

Timjolly1

Awesome food and atmosphere! Very friendly staff.

J Toch

The atmosphere and food at this place are amazing! Appetizers, pizza, dessert - everything was delicious and tasted fresh. The music was awesome and the staff was super friendly. We love this place and will definitely be returning next time we’re in Kimberley.

Terence Trefiak

Meh. Ceasar salad was pretty good. Pizza was alright. Pasta was a bit bland. Very friendly staff.

Ashton Thebault

Really tasty, Italian style pizza. Note: Italian style! It's thin crust and has less toppings and cheese than the North American type though the quality of toppings and sauce make it really delicious. I usually get take-out and have only ever had one experience where they missed a topping on one pizza and didn't quite cook one as much as they usually do but both were very edible and still good (that day they were incredibly busy with a tournament in town so it's understandable). The owner is quite nice and my experiences with the other servers and pizza chefs have always been good. There is a nice patio to sit on and a good amount of seating in the restaurant. All in all it's quite a nice pizza treat!

Tylor C

Amazing pizza

Michael Mcenaney

I'm a bit of a food critic and I an honestly say that the pizza was excellent! Having originally lived in NYC. I had my fair share of pizza. And this place did not disappoint. Good beer menu too. As well as nice outdoor area. Go. You will thank me!

jocelyne young

Great, can really taste the fired taste and nice crust, you can fold your PIZZA and eat it like they do in Italy,

Kaitie Carson

Poor service and long wait for food. Waited over 2 hours for our pizzas without any apologies/explanation for the wait. When I finally got my pizza, it was undercooked and doughy! :( Restaurants get busy sometimes, but you gotta at least keep your table in the loop!

Scott Weishuhn

Our team was in Kimberley from Calgary for a hockey tourney. Having a lot of parents and kids to feed between games. Stone Fire made arrangements by closing the whole restaurant for us to bring in our team to feed them. Food was amazing, service was just as good. If you are ever in this area you need to go see them and try the food. You will not be disappointed. Will be going back for sure next time we are in Kimberley. Thanks to all the staff and Management at Stone Fire for taking in our team for lunch between games!

Cody F

Great food, great prices and really kind and fun staff. Thanks again!

Lisa F

First of all I hate writing bad reviews. But hopefully management learns to staff a bit better to get those reviews up. We came here for lunch at 1pm on a Friday as it was almost the only decent looking restaurant around open for lunch. I waited in the front entrance for almost 10 minutes before anyone even came and acknowledged me. There was a group waiting ahead of me too. They got a table then the hostess disappeared again leaving me waiting. I observed there was only one chef, one server and the hostess/server that I was waiting to talk to to get a table. 80% of the tables were full with only 2-3 of those tables eating. I knew this would be a nightmare to get food, and with a 3 and 4 year old, there was no way we could wait that long. I just didn't understand why they only had 3 people working for a lunch rush. Anyways, we ended up reserving a table for 2:15, went to do some other activities then my husband went back to get our table and order, then we would join him, knowing full well we'd be waiting a long time. We didn't get our food until at least 3:15. Luckily the two pizzas and the beet salad were delicious, and our server was really nice. It wasn't his fault or the chefs that the restaurant left them to fail by understaffing. Anyways, in conclusion, the wait time was really frustrating. They could've easily had a 5* review (location and food) had they had more people working and not had a bottleneck with only one guy slowly making pizza. Not sure we'll come back unless I see many more people working!!

Scott Jeffery

I had the cod with risotto. The small piece of cod was so-so and the risotto was not prepared well (sticky) and there was not a lot of it. The meal came with a brocolli but there was so much salt on the brocolli it was inedible. For $26, it was definitely not worth it. This was the first time I went to a restaurant where no one asked how the meal was.

Charmaine Robinson

Went to Stonefire last night and it was sooo good. We ordered roasted brussel sprouts as an appy. Delicious! We ordered 3 pizzas that we all REALLY good and the mushroom Alfredo was amazing! For dessert my family ordered 3 tiramisu. My hubby said it was the best he had ever had and the kids absolutely loved it. Found out it was made in house. WORTH IT! Our waitress Candace was the only one waiting tables last night and even with a full house she was on top of everything. ????

Justis Hillson

Great atmosphere, fun and friendly staff, wonderful menu (even with tasty GF options!)

Nice atmosphere and very authentic but pizza was average. Crust is great though.

Food was great. Service is very slow. Took over an hour to get our lunch.

We went to Stonefire tonight and there were lots of open tables and we even managed to hit the wing night special! The service was pretty slow for how many servers there were and our waitress didn't seem terribly interested with our table. After we'd finished the meal it took an awful long time to get our bill even though we'd asked for it when she cleaned our plates. I could see our server hanging out at the till talking to the other servers. She brings the bill over and sets the debit machine down and leaves. Then we notice she's charged us for something that we didn't order. 5 more minutes and she comes back to our table and reactivates the debit machine and goes to leave. We then told her she'd messed up on billing and she says "oh. Don't know how that happened." ok I know it's an honest mistake but at least an apology would've been nice. She brings back the corrected bill, punches in the debit machine, and then leaves again. I get when things are busy that it's tough to serve every table perfectly but there weren't that many people in the restaurant and I could see her multiple times just standing talking with coworkers. Even just checking in with us at some point about the meal or making small talk while we paid would've been nice. Compared to other restaurants we've frequented in town I just wasn't as impressed with the cost of meal compared to the quality of service.

Ordered the double bacon pizza. It was expensive and very little bacon. So little we had to move pieces around to get decent coverage. Had 3 children age 2,3,5 and ordered apple juice for them. Price on menu was $1/each. Bill came back at $3/each. When i asked server she said I didn't specify the "children's apple juice" and she gave them all larger glasses. Was unwilling to fix this as they had drank it already. Had to get manager involved who promptly fixed the obvious error. All in all, this place is a novelty. The quality/portion does not reflect the high prices. The only plus is their patio which is tight but well shaded and comfortable. Stick to the other great restaurants in the area.

Good pizza, service is sub par and they'll just decide on certain nights that they "aren't doing takeout". I'd add a photo but I have no pizza.

One of the best Pizzas ever. Fantastic atmosphere. It will be the "go to" place to dine out during future camping visits to Kimberley. I always enjoy food that is prepared with pride, passion and generosity. Great prices. Karen Farynowski

Had a reservation for 2 and had them gave away my table 2 times... I feel like they are very under staffed, and unorganized. Tried to book this for a special event for my family but clearly left my friend disappointed for her birthday. MANAGEMENT step up!!!!

Food is always great but seems like the wait times are a little long and very consistent. Been a few times and seems it's always the case. Server was new and for a packed restaurant did great. We come back for the food and know it's going to be a wait regardless of how busy it is.

There is no other way to rate this currently than at most 2 stars. I understand everything is due to being shortstaffed, but what staff there is should be better supervised and trained. Normally I'd let this pass without a review, but our group's experience was a comedy of errors all the way through, so maybe management will take note. A table was being cleared as we arrived. Instead of the promised 5-10 minutes, this took half an hour. After seating and waters being handed out, we waited some 20 minutes for someone to arrive to take drink orders, all the while watching more people being seated. We finally place our drink and food orders together, not wanting to risk more delays. The drinks arrived quickly enough, no issues except for the warm glass for the bottled beer. We suspect getting the glass frosted will take too long to be worth it. Eventually after another half hour the food starts arriving. The appetizer dishes ordered as meals and asked and confirmed to arrive with the rest of the dishes, show up early, and we're told the pizzas will take longer as someone mistook the appetizers to be appetizers, so they delayed the pizzas accordingly. After another half hour, the pizzas arrive, a little over-burnt but alright, and we're missing two. The suspicion is they were just forgotten. We have 2 forks and 3 napkins between us. After another 15 minutes the remaining two get here... One is burnt beyond salvage, and we return it to remake. The other one, bbq chicken, has no chicken. We also return it to remake. Everyone is done eating by the time it gets to the table, and it's burnt, the topping area is fine, but we're wanting to leave at this point, and we don't care to return it. The person eating it has already filled up picking food from neighbors. We ask for a couple of to go boxes, and are offered 25% off the total. Eventually, after a reminder, the boxes come, with a complete comp for the table. Other things happened along the way too, at our table and others, but I've already written an essey. I hope the place shapes up soon, as it's normally quite good. Maybe try to come here at non-busy hours, during these "trying times".

Awful. Totally and absolutely awful. We waited an hour with two small kids no colouring or anything to get 1 burnt somewhat looking marguerita pizza and a tiny amount of pasta which we ended up asking for it to go because the girls were starving and done. We should have checked the packages before leaving to go back to the hill. The wing order - oh my lord. 6 wings burnt for $14. The waitress was nice but totally overwhelmed as she was the only one with a full restaurant. I should ask for my money back.

Went here for Sunday lunch. The restaurant was not busy. We placed our order and proceed to wait. Wait, wait some more. We watch 2 other tables leave. After 40 mins we questioned where our meal was. The server had never sent or order to the kitchen. We left and went to Chef Bernard's. Better service with good food.

Nathan Bosch

Unfortunately I have to agree with some of the other recent reviews. 5th restaurant we have visited here and this one is not worth it. First we waited for about 10 min in doorway without anyone acknowledging then left. Came back though because the other higher rated restaurants were full. Service was almost non existent until it was time to pay the $100 bill. Food took much longer than other local restaurants and wasn’t really redeeming. Worth waiting at the other restaurants nearby vs this place and it seems like this is fairly consistent when looking at other reviews.

Excellent service from a happy energetic waitress. The pizza had lots of bacon and cheese. The crust was perfect and even when the leftover was warned up for lunch it tasted good. Excellent value and quality.

brighttalon

Short staffed and didn't enjoy the food so much. But they were really nice. Took 25% off for waiting over an hour just to get our food.

Delicious, well attended and excellent music. What else can one ask for?

Stay away. This place is horrible. We went recently at 2:30pm for a late lunch. Ordered 2 adult and 1 child pizza. By 4, we still didn’t have our food. I spent the afternoon walking my baby around outside as we waited so he wouldn’t fuss and disturb others. My family was to text me when the food came.. but it never did! The worst part is we talked to others about our experience and they had the same thing happen to them at this place. The staff at this place.. (and the owners too obviously) just don’t care about their customers at all. It’s shocking actually. Aren’t they in business to make money? They certainly didn’t seem to want ours. We definitely won’t be back. Life is too short! We wasted a whole afternoon of our holiday waiting. Still makes me mad thinking about it!

Possibly the worst service any of the four of us have had in years. Server was inattentive and would only talk to us while running past. Food took over an hour with no communication as to any issues (and she only ever asked us if we wanted refills on our empty drinks once). To top it off our full price bills took 15 minutes to arrive after asking and when they did arrive the server gave us her clerk code and left us to ring through our own bills, a first for any of us. Only reason this gets two stars is the food was fairly good once it did arrive, definitely not worth the lackluster service, however.

Great pizza in Kimberly. They have tons of local beers on tap too!

Take out issues again

Best Wood Fired Wings I have ever had

Joy-Marie

Server was nice, had to wait quite a while for food, soup was Luke warm but too hungry to send back. Pizza is salty but not bad.

Sharon Culley

Ordered Mediterranean pizza. Very good!

Jay Blackmore

Very authentic Italian Margarita Pizza, Friendly family style staff. Also quite lovely interior not overly modern at all.

Visited the Stonefire Pizzeria with a large group of family in August. We had all come together in Kimberly for the mountaintop wedding of our family members. Several of us were Kimberly regulars, and many of us were tourists. We all go together at Stonefire for a meal and there must have been 20 of us, all moving around excited to reunite. Needless to say, it would have been a task to serve such a large group all moving around! Our servers were incredible, and always friendly during this undoubtedly stressful service. The food was fantastic, and the kitchen staff and management were lovely, yes, we talked with everyone as we practically took over the place. From our global family that came together that weekend, we would absolutely recommend Stonefire Pizzeria to any and all visiting Kimberly!

5/5 for taste 3/5 execution 3/5 service 2/5 cleanliness Was in for lunch with my girlfriend. We were visiting from Calgary and I always love to try a great woodfire pizza restaurant. When we walked in there looked like remnants from a very large party as 6 or so tables were together and messy. We were seated quickly and our server was very friendly. After ordering our drinks came promptly but our food took nearly 40 minutes to arrive (2 pizzas) while we were waiting we could see the pizza chef taking forever to make the pizzas. He also touched his face multiple times with the back of his hands which is where he stretched the pizza dough with. I hope he was just having a bad day. The place was not overly busy and 40 minutes is a very long time to wait for pizza that takes 8 mins or less in the oven to cook. The potential is there for a great place to go but definitely needs some fine tuning

Wicked pizza, bruschetta and salad. Ice cold local beer. Not to mention, the reason we keep coming back... Andrea the most amazing, kind , and free spirit! Maggie and the Martin’s sing your praises!

Derek Martin

Food was good. The waitress was very personable but overworked. Service was slow as a result.

I would recommend to visit Stonefire Pizzeria when you are in Kimberley. I have not tried thier pizza, but what I got was delicious (yes, there is more on the menu than just pizza!). Also this place is an eye candy, inside and out. Interior and exterior design is one of the best I have seen in restaurants across Canada. Do not miss this place if you are in town!

Bill Black

The food was ok, small portions for a large price. The service was quite slow but given the extra COVID work required that is somewhat understandable. Have only been there once but do not plan to go back, there are several better places to eat in Kimberly.
