I love Chinese soup and rate myself as a connoisseur of specialty soups. Toy Sun Restaurant has the best blend of noodles vegetables shrimp chicken barbecue pork. But the flavor of the broth is what supercedes othere restaurants offering similar big bowl soups. Plus the price is the lowest of all other restaurants. Service is quick and very friendly.

Today I ordered chicken balls and when I opened one up it was mouldy inside then i decided to open up all of them and it surprised that they were all mouldy, the lady stated that it was the flour, in all my years of cooking I never saw flour turn black , she also only gave me a 10% off of my bill and I left the food there, i was sick to my stomach.

Best Chinese east of the Red Ruver. Quality & quantity are consistently excellent. Shrimp in Spicy Sallt is a signature dush. Brilliant. Pan-fried beef with ginger & green onion is Chinese home-cooking. Special order lamb in cumin sauce or steamed fish. Toy Sun is now our go-to place.

Friendly staff and great atmosphere, although I ordered the kung pao pork for take out and it was bland. It had 5% pork and 95% of bland watery vegetables. Maybe if I dined it they might've made it better, but that's no excuse of making the take out orders bland to save the flavours for people that would dine in.

The egg foo yong is terrible, watery eggs, the dry Schwann was Awful , no flavour , the breading they use makes it gooey, ginger beef & ginger chicken no ginger flavour & the breading gooey, the free chicken fried rice was tasteless, the pan fried shrimp had some weird coating on it, waste of my $74.00, only thing was they have big portions for the value, , would I order again?! No way

I ordered take out with quite a few menu items. The food was amazing. I had been looking for a chinese restaurant for a number of years now and by far this is the best one to date. The food was delivered hot and on time. The food actually had taste not salty or heavy but favorful and delicious. loved the orange sauce for the shrimp. WOW. and the beef & broccoli delish. the dry breaded veal tender . Cant say enough ...soooo good. I ordered waaayyyy to much but it was worth every bite. Will definatly call them again for our next family food day.

One of my favorite Chinese food places in the area. I'm in East St Paul and Toy Sun has been my go-to place for years. We've tried others and gone as far as mcphillips and kp area and Toy Sun still wins. I love their breaded veal and Cantonese chow mein. Eating in offers good portions!

I ordered Combination plate C2- came with S&S chicken balls and shrimp and fried rice, I also had consomme soup. Very good flavor for everything!The chicken balls breading was light and fluffy and the fried rice was superb. The shrimp was amazing! This is the best Chinese food take out in Winnipeg by far. My personal favorite are lemon chicken, Cantonese chow mei, chicken balls to name a few. You can taste the quality of the meat, and of course, the way they cook it is really good. Unlike most other resturants, the coating for the chicken is thin and crisp, big chunck of chicken inside. There is no MSG whatsoever. Service is prompt and pleasant. If you are craving for Chinese, this is the place to go!!! Keep up the great work.

This lovely restaurant is now are go-to Chinese restaurant. The lunch buffet has quality dishes and is reasonably priced. The dishes we particularly enjoyed included the pan fried dumplings as appetizers, the Schezuan beef (dry), the hot honey lemon chicken and the shrimp with spicy salt. Round that off with the stir-fry mixed greens.

Taking price out of the equation, the food was a bit underwhelming to say the least. Rice was cold and gooey. S&S ribs were a bit gross. Lemon chicken was fried to a hard crisp and dry. Adding price to the equation, and it definitely wasn’t worth it. We always go a block down, so I thought to give these guys a try. Will be going back down the block.

Visiting from Victoria and heard this was a good Chinese restaurant. We went as a foursome on a Tuesday. The restaurant wasn’t busy when we showed up at 7pm. We ordered 5 dishes and they were all very very good. We especially liked the dry veal. We went with my wife’s sister and her husband. We all liked the food and they said they will be coming back since they live in the neighbourhood. Very good food and very good service. Definitely worth a visit if you desire Chinese food. We would all return.

On their menu online it says you spend 30$ you get a free chicken fried rice. I've done this for the last like 2 years. I order and my total was 34.50 so just making sure I get the chicken fried rice correct? they say no you have to spend 40, I say i'm looking at your online menu and it says 30... so can you for this time give us the rice for 30? they say okay this one time. I pay for my food come home and notice... No chicken fried rice...... I call back and they say, You have to spend 40 to get the fried rice! in a super rude manner.... I wouldn't have even ordered from them if they didn't say they would give it to me.... Bad business will never order from here again.

I had such high hopes since so many people wrote good reviews for this place. So, since my favourite restaurant is closed on Tuesdays, I was excited to give a more affordable place a try. Thankfully it wasn't 'spit out horrible' but it tasted like every single dish and sauce was watered down with oil or something because the flavours were very muted compared to what I'm used to getting. After a while I felt so disgusted that I was barely able to finish my plate and ending up giving the leftovers (which was 80% of what we ordered) to someone who ate a week old burger. I gusss it's worth the cheaper price if you don't mind getting lesser quality. But I'm gunna stick with paying more at my favourite restaurant to receive better consistant quality... except for when its closed on Tuesdays.
