An unassuming almost casual venue (steel chairs!) but elevated by classy linen and Spiegelau stemware all around. The dishes will come perfectly plated (see pictures). A nice touch is the staff keeping cutlery fresh between courses. Note: We ordered vegetarian. Starter: Black Bean Cake Winkler Tostada. I was looking for the creme fraiche and Oka cheese to balance the strong bean flavors. Next: In-house made Gnocchi. Chef absolutely nailed this one. As good as gnocchi can be. ++ Order this. Wait: Warkentin Tomato Salad. Perfectly fresh as you would expect in August. The Avocado Tempura with it was a surprise. A pleasant one. Then: Paella. It's tough to do a vegetarian take on such a meat centric dish. Good job here and no criticisms, I think we would choose differently next time. Final: Coconut Crème Brulée. Very nicely done. Fairly light and balanced with the Honey Waffle (which I think was shortbread). Overall a high end Winnipeg cuisine. Pleasant unhurried service.Wide wine list of mostly Canadian sources. Deserving of their 5 stars and another visit.

Throughout this pandemic, Scott and his staff have been so amazing and doing everything possible to create a safe environment for people to dine in or take out! I have an allergy and they have always been very accommodating and if I give enough notice will even alter the Demi-glaze so I can eat it! Nothing special! The Vegan Napoleon was just OK. Felt like this dish was created just to make sure there is something for vegans. Not suitable for this type of restaurant. The fish and sea food in the paella was over cooked and dry. Did not eat it. Very disappointing. Was expecting much much more. Service was very good. Food not.

Delicious, flavorful food with excellent service. They have well crafted entre selections served in perfect portions. You won't be bored by the options. Locally sourced. As a thirsty woman, one thing I judge a place by is how attentive they are to refilling cups. My glass was never empty! A rarety. It took a second try, but my fish was cooked to absolute perfection. Dessert was a lovely balance of rich and fresh.

This restaurant was between a 4-5 but I ultimately gave them a 5. The food was solid. I did not come out with anything that I felt I must return for. Normally that is a 4. I gave a 5 because of how accommodating they are and with the hopes that their dinner menu would hold something more to my liking. I saw a number of items that caught my eye but was not allowed to order as it was lunch. Normally I would wait to return to up my star rating, but I was happy with how considerate they were to my vegan friend. I feel like if you had an issue they will address it They had a vegan creme brule dessert which was very good. They decorated their desserts with edible flowers. I would have liked to have the explanation as to why we couldn't order from the dinner menu. We were told it was not available with no reason behind it. This is an Established restaurant that has been there for 23 years. My first memory of a visit was in 2006 when I visited all the restaurants in the back of the ciao magazine. The outside looks a bit plain and non descript. It is a nice space on the inside. Service was polite. I do feel I need to return to make sure this star rating is correct. Parking looked like Street parking. I did not notice a lot.

Had a very enjoyable dinner with 4 friends. There is a good selection of Canadian wines and they only offer Canadian wines. Food took a little long to prepare but you would expect that in a smaller restaurant. Quality of the food is certainly good and you can tell they didnt make you wait for nothing.

I wish I could rate it more than five stars! Had a wonderful meal tonight: started with the mussels (they were the best I've ever had, the broth was amazing - if they offer you the bread for dipping I suggest it, the hummus that comes with is rich and has bold flavour) for the entrée I had the beef and my partner had the bison (perfectly cooked and with nice seasonal veggies, the beef had a roasted red pepper and goat cheese spread) we finished the night with the cheesecake with Saskatoon berries (one of the best cheesecakes I've ever had - and I make a point to eat them anytime they're offered. This is a must try). For drinks we tried the Gimli Sour and Luscious Libby which were very good as well. I also want to make special note of the service there - it is beyond reproach. The gentleman (and I mean that in the truest sense of the word) who served us is a true gem and catered our every need. I will be back and I will sing praises of this restaurant all over town.

This was our first visit to Fusion and I have to say; wow, were we impressed! A cozy, personal experience where attention to detail is closely paid. I have purchased grass-fed beef in the past and cooked it at home but I wanted to experience it's full potential so my fiance surprised me and took me to Fusion for my birthday. While I enjoy a nice red, I know very little about wine. Scott was really accommodating and suggested a cab sav to go with my meal. I had the pork feature and she had the grass-fed beef and we shared both. The vegetables were fresh and cooked to perfection, the steak was beyond my expectation and the pork was absolutely fantasic.(just writing this is making my mouth water.) One thing that really surprised me was how affordable our meal was. We can't wait for our next visit!

My girlfriend took me here as a surprise for my birthday. We had a wonderful experience. The service was excellent and the food was exceptional and reasonably priced. I would highly recommend the duck dish and the perogy appetizer. The waiter (could have been the owner) presented me with a cheesecake with my name on the dish to celebrate my birthday, which was an added bonus. I would highly recommend this location and look forward to coming back in the near future. This is seriously some of the best food you could ask for in Winnipeg.

First time eating here and I will never return. I had a hair in my food which no manager seemed to come talk to me or even take it off my bill. They claimed to remake my plate so I could take it home but when I opened the container the next day I noticed there was a peice of fish missing exactly where the hair was. Do not eat at this over priced pos place unless you enjoy wasting your money. Dried out protien, mussels were over cooked, shrimp as well, just the rice was good.

The atmosphere was wonderful, and the service was superb but the food on this visit was lacking in quality. The server did not serve the proper steaks to the proper guests, even after asking who ordered the rare and who ordered the medium. The chicken was dry and the vegetables were not seasoned properly, or not seasoned at all. This visit was disappointing.

I visited this restaurant in June and was pleasantly surprised. This upscale restaurant is full of elegance and class with a overlay of comfort. I ordered the pickerel cheeks as an appetizer and the duck as the main course. The appetizer was decent but was not as good as I expected. The main course, however, was fantastic. The presentation was beautiful and the different flavors on my place seemed to fuse together. The staff was friendly and attentive and the restaurant was clean. Overall, a great meal and atmosphere. I will be going back in the months to come.

The staff at Fusion Grill truly provided a night to remember for not only myself, but particularly my fiancée Corinne Bremner. They went above and beyond the call of duty with impeccable service. We lacked for nothing at any given moment. The quaint and intimate ambiance allowed the 2 of us to feel we were the only ones being pampered hand over foot. But the piece de resistance was the food itself. We went with the 5 course "Bison Tasting Menu" which left nothing to be desired. The generous servings were not only created by a world class chef, but a true artisan as well. They were as tantalizing to look at as they were exquisitely delicious. The bison was particularly tender almost to the point of melting in one's mouth. And the selection of their drink menu made all the courses flow down with total satisfaction. Thank you so much for being able to accommodate us with relatively short notice. Your hospitality, food and service will not be soon forgotten. Particularly with Corinne. She has been sharing her excitement regarding this experience the entire time I have been writing this review. I'm sure we will be seeing you again immediately after we tie the knot. Went for a business dinner last night, based on reviews from friends and the Radio Ad. The place doesn't look like much, but the food is great. The service was just OK, nothing extraordinary. This establishment is very small, the chairs really need an urgent upgrade! too small and uncomfortable. The washroom facilities look really really old and need renovation. This business need a new location or a TV style upgarde.

Over the years we have been blessed to share many scrumptious food experiences with friends and family at Fusion Grill. We say, ‘experiences’ because they don’t just serve ‘product’ they serve high quality delicious food with the utmost friendliness, care and attention to detail. As soon as they closed all the restaurants because of COVID-19 we knew right away that we were going to (Support Local), support Scot at Fusion Grill. We are so incredibly grateful to Scot and his dedicated team that created extraordinary dinners for us during these last many months. They are passionate about ensuring that only high quality local ingredients go into every carefully prepared menu item. We've experienced the delightful flavors of almost everything on the menu and especially love the starter; organic wild rice and beluga lentil and the entrees; the yummy pan roasted chicken supreme, prairie grass fed beef, flavorful paella and the fresh Arctic Char. Of course, we shared a refreshing bottle of award winning Canadian wine from the spectacular wine list. It’s abundantly clear that Scot is very hardworking and focused on delivering top notch service in a timely manner right to our door. He is a stickler for cleanliness and observed all the regulations for social distancing. It’s no surprise that he even uses packaging that is environmentally friendly. Would not recommend. Have had multiple poor experiences for customer service. Their food might be good but the way they treat people is not. I would recommend giving your money to a business with better ethics. Update: response from the owner is a perfect example of the ignorant attitude they have. Service was good. We enjoyed the appetizers. The mains were lacking. Fish was overcooked. Paella had dried out proteins and cold mussels - though rice was good. If you go it is likely safer to stick with the meat or vegetarian dishes. Prices on the higher end of average for a place like this. Could be reasonable if food quality increased to match.

First visit tonight. Loved Fusion Grill. Nice wine list...something for everyone without being too pretentious like many places. Food was spectacular. Flavours were out of this world. The au gratin potatoes were made with Bothwell cheese...need I say more. Steak was cooked medium but slightly closer to med rare. The beef was nice with a nice chat and the marbling added extra flavour. The chicken with curried veg was also grill cooked and delish. Starter soup was Thai chicken coconut...omg good. Samosas was our other choice and the were traditional but the dough was not heavy and the filling flavourful. Tamarind sauce and a white sauce were a perfect touch. Loved our evening at Fusion Grill. Staff excellent. Thank you.

Wow. Honestly from start to finish this was amazing. The dining was a lot more intimate than I expected but this food surpassed expectations. The dining area was clean, the service was amazing, love the eclectic feel of the basement bathroom area (I know that’s a weird thing to be impressed about). Mussels and a salad to start, very flavourful and fresh tasting. I had the duck confit and loved everything about it. The confit and breast were well cooked and had great flavour, I enjoyed the fresh flavour of the vegetable and the fact the green beans still had a bit of crunch to it! Potato latke was yuuuuummmy. Great combination of flavours and textures, freshness and quality was definitely there. My partner had the bison ribs, and those were to die for. Well cooked, a nice little bite to the sauce but not heat, vegetables were fresh and well prepared as well. Great beverage and dessert menu as well! Definitely trying one next time. Finished off our meal with a nice cup of coffee :)

The service, when it was evident, was supercilious (“How would the chef recommend that?” YOU’RE the one eating it.”) The food ranged from adequate to sub-standard - a “tenderloin” was served tough and cold. There were two large parties in the restaurant at the same time as us. Another party that were obviously regulars were seated well after us and served well before us. It took over an hour to be served two starters and a further hour to see our entree’s. Some of this would be forgivable in a restaurant that wasn’t pretending to be in the top tier. The $40 entree level needs to be executed exceptionally. This wasn’t even adequate.

We decided to try a different place for birthday supper. The menu looked very interesting. So we shared the white truffle perogies with duck sausage and walnut cream. The chef gave us each 3 and they were delicious. Then we had the sea scallops with goat's cheese. That was good also. For my entree, I had the "Grilled prairie grass fed beef" which the chef described as a rib eye. It was the toughest and fattest ribeye (if it was really a rib eye) that I ever had in my life. The steak on Holland America cruise comes in as 2nd toughest.

Went here for dinner about a week ago with some friends, I started with the beet salad, presentation was absolutely stunning and tasted absolutely amazing, we also shared an order of samosas and damn did those blow my mind, for main I ordered the paella which was probably one of if not the best paella’s I have ever had (this is coming from someone who has been to Spain numerous times). Finally, to finish the night off, we all ordered the pumpkin cheesecake and it was perfect as it was not crazy sweet. Cannot believe this place has been here for so long and I have only heard of it recently! Will definitely be coming back!

Ordered pick up for the first time from here, amazing good - take out containers were great as kept food warm and presentation looked outstanding- I can only imagine what a plated meal would look like from them! I ordered the duck and perhaps the best duck confit I've had (I wonder if they make it like medieval France), also ordered the gnocchi dish which was amazing, and surprisingly very mild for having jalepenos in the sauce! Would highly recommend!

Positives: Food is very fresh. Very healthy ingredients. Dishes are made from scratch. Interesting combinations of ingredients. Nice restaurant atmosphere. Negatives: It's very pricey for what you get. The portions are very small. Include larger portions. Reduce tge price by a couple of dollars. Food is rather bland. Cuisine not really unique or does not stand out compared to other restaurants. Caters more to a White Caucasian diner not to an ethnic exotic diner. Same old boring sandwiches and burgers. Typical North American cuisine. Not very spicy or tasty. Put some hot Tabasco to give your dishes more kick. Add some unique spices like mint, oregano, cumin, cilantro to make the food tastier. Have some exotic dishes like mouth watering shish kebab, biryani, samosas, doner kebab, chicken Tikka and you have won me over!
