Great BBQ restaurant for the area! A lot of space inside, always find it clean and staff are professional. There are times though that staff can take their time in getting back to you, making you wait longer then you should. Food is good for a decent price, never have I over paid for something here. Grt good decent amount of food for what your paying for. The lot is shared with the other stores around but its large enough that there is parking for everyone, even on busy days.

Ordered two burgers with fries and an order of boneless wings. Simple request right ? QUITE POSSIBLY THE WORST FOOD WE HAVE EVER HAD. The burgers were cold and greasy. The fries NEVER CAME. And the boneless wings were burnt and resembled little bits of coal that had been sitting under a heat lamp for days. My husband and I got physically ill after this “meal”. This restaurant used to be awesome and a family favourite….but no more. Not sure what has changed in the past couple years but I urge you all to go elsewhere. Save your money and you stomach.

Took my dad here for his birthday. First bad sign: they only looked at our vaccine QR codes, didn't scan them to confirm, nor did they check ID. Then our server took our order and told us of a large table that could possibly delay our order. Considering the rest of the restaurant was empty, we figured it would only take a little while longer than usual. We ended up waiting an hour before our food arrived, which was the only time we saw our server after she took our order. She did the obligatory meal check after she dropped off the food, but then she decided to give us our bill and brought the debit machine while my mother was still eating. That left a bad taste in my mouth and I couldn't wait to get out of there as I was so annoyed. Then as we were getting up to leave, I sea and hear our server offer the table beside us a comped meal because it was one person's birthday, and the rest of the table got a discount on their meal because of the wait. Considering the fact that they got there after us, and got their meals right after we did, it got me angry to the point where I just wanted to leave before I started yelling and making a scene. As for the food, the ribs were tough and warm (not hot), and the chicken and brisket was dried out. The sides were ok though, nothing amazing. A disappointing night pretty much from start to finish. I doubt I'll ever come back here again willingly.

After getting a little sample of their “chopped pork” at the Winnipeg Wonderful Show in January, I had to go for a full meal. It was incredible!! I definitely recommend their burnt ends and their chopped pork (I had it with grilled pineapple and mac&cheese MMMM!) my boyfriend has their baby back ribs and loved them!! ( says a lot - he’s hard to please ) My service was absolutely perfect, the staff was friendly. Food was hot & fast. I will definitely be back with my boyfriend to try the feast for two! ????????

I've been at Famous Daves a few times now and although the hostess said the wait would be between 45 mins and an hour, I have always gotten in much sooner. The service staff are polite, fast and very knowledgeable of their product. You get chips to use to taste all the bbq sauces while your server describes them all to you in detail. The full slab of pork ribs is delicious with minimal fat and the sides are tasty as well. Beans mashed potatoes and the Mac&Cheese are my favourite sides. The Brisket is also quite good. They have a pretty decent beer selection and a nice size drink menu as well. Overall, it's definitely worth the wait and a pretty decent spot. Pretty much just like it is down in the States.

More Sysco/Gordon slop. The cook didn't even have the courtesy to remove all the plastic from my prepackaged side dish. 2 stars because it's technically edible - minus the plastic. On a sidenote, it's a shame that Winnipeg has no real BBQ places left besides maybe Carnaval. Instead we're left with this American hand-me-down, chain restaurant garbage.

Great BBQ in the city! Very good lunch specials and sides. Prices are reasonable. Service is always nice. There is a sample of chips and sauces you can get at the beginning of the meal. It is usually busy. Drinks are fair and priced accordingly. Parking is abundant. Depending on what area of town you are coming from, it can be difficult to get to. I would recommend to friends and family. Good for groups. Great atmosphere and decor.

Great food, portions and options. The only drawback is their "heads up" system for large patties (their version of a reservation)... apparently absolutely no different than showing up unannounced. Saw one large party leave in frustration after a few hours and another finally loudly order pizzas from another restaurant for pick up on their way out. Leading large groups to believe you'll actually do something to prep for their arrival then doing no more than leaving them hanging for hours being pushed back in the regular walk-in lineup waiting for random doubles and quads to become free is frankly a little shady.

Ribs were dry and room temperature. Broccoli just thrown into a container with no seasoning and it was overcooked. I was told they did not have butter packets or any sort of butter they could put on the side for the vegetables. They served the bread pudding cold. The woman who took our order on the phone was rude and snippy. The baked beans and the bread pudding were the two best things they served I only wish they’d heated the bread putting up. Save your money eat somewhere else but I do suggest the bread pudding only.

Ugh it was amazing! First dinner here tonight with the family. We always drove by and I have heard plenty of good reviews of this place from family and friends. We randomly decided to go here tonight after a long day of running around. Definitely hit the spot. From atmosphere, to the amazing service from Shawn *female server*, to the most delicious food ever. The ribs are amazing, my 3yr old daughter loved them!! This is def our go to place for ribs from now on. The place is soo clean and tidy. After a table leaves they wipe the tables and booth so thoroughly. The only downside my hubby had to say about the place was their minmal beer selection. Other than that we will be back :)

Seemed like the waitress was forced to serve our table even though we weren't in her section so she hardly checked on us. And the food was mediocre, the ribs were super dry and the macaroni I ordered for my 1 year old had jalepenos in it so she couldn't even eat it, saw no description in the menu stating that it would be this way.

Burger was fine but the brisket sandwich was hardly that. Hard bun top, soggy bottom with some dry jerky as the brisket. Couldn't believe its a $15 sandwich. Truely a sad sight. Makes it easy to no longer order from there.

I have ordered MANY times from this restaurant, I have always been more than pleased with the food. The last time I ordered from Skipthedishes the driver left 3/4 of the meal at the restaurant , when I called the restaurant the hostess actually drove down in her personal vehicle to deliver the rest of the food (plus quite a few extra muffins). Great BBQ great people from my experiences.

This food is very heavy and there is no "lite" menu options. Not recommended for someone dieting or counting macros as almost every item in the menu has a high amount of fat. If you are not on a diet then this place is really good. Full flavor BBQ ribs and great tasting chili. If you are with a party of 4-6 people they have something on the menu called the Legendary BBQ Feast. This saves a lot of time when ordering and it has something for everyone.

If smoked meat or burgers is the target, this is the place to go. Prices are similar to other resteraunts in the vicinity like, Applebee's or Boston Pizza. Service is good and the environment cozy, great for a family outing.

We've been several times and ordered the Feast for Two, which was always good. This time I had the St Louis ribs with country roasted chicken combo. Ribs were okay, chicken was overly salty, sides: broccoli overdone, green beans under done. Hubby had the brisket platter and commented that the toast (? or whatever the meat was sitting on) was so hard he could not cut it (and obviously couldn't eat it). All in all, we likely won't be returning, because frankly, our ribs are better.

As I sit here eating a passable lunch, let me explain.... This is the second time we have tried this establishment....there will not be a third. Our food arrived cold....like sitting out for an hour cold....and after we complained, it came back in three minutes....microwaved. Is this what passes for a decent meal? I think not.

Very slow/non-attentive workers while ordering pick-up, was very dead when i went to get my order so not much reasoning for a 35 minute delay for (a burger & chicken tenders), once i got my food I checked it at the till as last time i got home and the food wasnt cooked.. and just as last time, it was cold. I spoke to one of the managers Ruth and am awaiting my refund still, however she was caring in regards to the situation and offered me to still take the cold food home. The workers there need to be more in the work zone and put some effort in rather than standing around talking when things need to be done.

The service was excellent. She was an incredible server and the food came out in a timely fashion. It was the food itself that didn’t blow me away. I’m not understanding how, when they first opened and for so long afterwards, there were massive wait times for a table. We got the platter for two. The best thing about it was the, really small, corn on the cob. The ribs were dry and seemed very cookie cutter-like for a piece of meat that should be pretty random. The chicken was okay but the huge amount of pepper overpowered the rest of the seasonings and the brisket was dry. The beans, cornbread and coleslaw were okay. Overall, nothing they served us was better than I can do myself at home for cheaper.

Reason for 1 star....Had the baby back ribs and shouldn't have eaten them as from the first bite I could taste they were a bit off but my husband was enjoying his so I didn't say anything. We got a 5.00 discount on our bill as the waitress said they had too many ribs and needed to get rid of them. We have eaten there before and enjoyed our meals but this last time might be the last time we go. I didn't get sick but could still taste those ribs hours later. Not recommended.

In my experienced in famous Dave Food was excellent. the only complaint here is I heard from the staff, that they lost their hours and given it to the new staff who hasn't been trained at all in all area. Management know how to rotate the shift and not to given to new people who hasnt trained. I prefer not to apply here to work better to apply in any restaurant. UNFAIR TREATMENT!!!!

They were crunchy and addictive. We got the ribs since they are a favorite. They were really fatty but still the best and only ribs we would buy. At a restaurant. I have to admit this was the most underwhelming experience in a restaurant in a very long time. First the order took forever and the manager or supervisor said that he sent the food back bc it didn't meet his standards and when we got the food 2 of the 6 ribs my wife ordered were over cooked and super dry and hard. I had 6 ribs and 6 wings and I swear the wings had more meat than the ribs. My daughter's 2 st. Louis ribs had more meat my 6 baby back ribs. I was better off ordering a kids meal. When we mentioned the bad ribs the waitress kept it on the bill. In the end we spent north of $100 for sub par food . It's a shame as this was one of the only restaurants my family would agree to go to. Now I don't think I'll be back for long time if at all.

Terrible customer experience. My Grandson wanted to go for his birthday so we called to see about a reservation was told no they didn’t do reservations. We showed up and first thing was asked if we had a reservation told them we called and was told we didn’t take reservations. Well they said it would be a two hour wait. A bit undercooked and over priced . I have had famous Dave's before in Minneapolis, however , the one here in Winnipeg is not the same. Portion sizes are smaller, the price is higher, and the quality while ok, is not stellar. The staff are friendly and professional enough though.

Was in restaurant hearing the "head" manager as he keep saying, telling or I should say yelling at these poor ladies about the fact they wanted no salt on there chips and apparently thats not the "Famous Dave's" way. WOOOOW I saw them walk out after the poor little girl was crying. That customer service should be ashamed, I will never go back. I saw the hole thing and that so called manager was absolutely the most rudest man I had ever come across. I will tell everyone I know and NEVER be back!! No one deserves to be treated with such disrespect!

I would never make a bad review. However, the entire experience at Famous Dave's was extremely poor. My partner and I visited on Saturday, August 14, 2021 for a celebration. We were seated immediately which was perfect. It's a nice and relaxed atmosphere. However, the server we had was not personable. He did not smile once and just took our orders and never checked up on us to fill our drinks. We waited over an hour for our food to arrive; it took 30 minutes for our appetizers then another 45 minutes after being served our appetizers for our main dishes. In fact, the server was about to give us our bill before even serving our main dish, which makes me think our food wasn't even made. Upon arrival staff forgotten two of our sides which had to be made in the kitchen. You would assume after all the time it took to cook, everything would be prepared. Additionally, the food was sub-par. The meat, especially the ribs were dry and overcooked, as if it was left in the oven too long. I understand based on the circumstances of reopening after a shutdown leniency should be given. If the server was friendly and attentive despite being slow that would have made the experience significantly better.

First of all, I would like to say we have been patrons of this restaurant for many years. However, my pick-up order today was a big disappointment. Half of the rack of back ribs was so dry that the ribs were more like jerky....almost inedible. The other half were fairly dry but chewable. The mashed potatoes were barely lukewarm....and I was right on time for my pickup and only live 6 minutes away from the restaurant. My review is in lieu of wasting gas to return the food. Considering the cost of this meal and the lack of quality, I would not recommend this restaurant.

Update: Management was quick to respond and appreciated my feedback. I wasn't expecting anything but they happily replaced my meal for me! Thank you! Usually Dave's is really good. I've only really like sitting in but thanks to covid everything has to be taken out. Last night's take out was pretty disappointing. I always get the same half dry/half sauce ribs with 2 sides. Apparently this little strip of pineapple is considered a side and it was put in the same container as the bbq chips making them all so soggy they couldn't be eaten. My dry rub ribs were also so burnt that I couldn't eat them either. It was like biting into a really big crouton.... so for my share of an 80 dollar meal, I could only eat the half rack of sauce ribs.

3rd Attempt....still unimpressed. Restaurant was not busy. We visited after the lunch hour. Ordered off the lunch menu. Waited a bit, food arrived completely cold and horrible presentation...lack luster. Single plate with one piece of dried out white bread, no seasoning, butter, just pork slapped on it with bbq sauce smothered all over it. Caesar salad drenched in dressing and soggy. My partners burger was ice cold and the fries where soggy. Sent the food back. Within 3 minutes the exact food came backed...warmed by microwave. We still waited on cutlery while the food got cold again. We complained and the manager came out and gave us 15% off the bill, should have comp the whole thing. We won't be back. Like most American chains, they are unable to duplicate their success here. Won't be back.

Used to be my go to spot tradition you may call it but it was short lived. Been going numerous times up to around 6 months ago everything was fine, went recently and the food has changed drastically for the worse idk if it's new management cutting corners or cause the carbon tax making ingredients to buy more expensive so they cut corners for that reason. We ordered from take out yesterday Saturday Nov 27 it was $132.00. The beef brisket is uneaten because it was so tough. , cut so thick it was like chewing rubber. We purchased an extra lbs of the brisket because it has been a favourite of everybody. We don’t live near Winnipeg so it’s not something we can easily take back. But it sure ruined our family meal. Everything else was ok except for the brisket. When it was reheated it was places in the oven for 15 mins covered in the tin foil tray it came with. Very disappointed famous Daves.

You can do better. Excellent service, very roomy booth, acceptable prices. Getting the wheelchair to the booth was a challenge - aisles are narrow in spots. Food quality varies and generally a bit disappointing for a bar-b-que restaurant. Corn and fries were cold, as was the replacement corn. Pulled pork was noticeably dry. Chicken and ribs were good, as were the beans. Corn muffin, fires and coleslaw are about average, at best. Menu varies from the on-line version - no catfish or collard greens in Winnipeg. We ate later (arrived after 6:30 pm on a Wednesday), but, that's no excuse for cold food.

Updated review: Not long after my review was posted I was contacted and the issue was addressed. It's unfortunate it took so long, but I'm glad they took the time in the end to address the problem. First Review: My husband and I had Famous Dave's cater our wedding back in June (7 months ago) and overall we had a great experience until the end. We didn't realise until after the wedding how much more our quote had gone up, after telling them a week before the wedding that our numbers were 60 less people. My family and I had wondered how we could drop 60 people and somehow the first quote for 200 was less than the one for 140. We had way too much food left over after the wedding that we had to throw some out as we couldn't eat it fast enough. We met with the catering manager and he promised to get back to us as he was confused too, but here we are months later and only a few emails saying they'll get back to us. The food was great, but if you're going to have them cater, be careful to read over the quotes and do the math yourself before everything is paid for and finalised.

Poor service, the server didn't ask us if there was any first timers at the restaurant, we had family from Vancouver, wanted to take them somewhere different, so they weren't able to experience the intro about the different sauces (which are really good). We asked server for straws and she gave us 6 (we were a party of 14). My bill was 314 including tip. Just seemed like she wasn't trying, knowing that there is already a 15% tip if party of more than 9ppl. My family was not impressed, not going there anymore.

My wife and I had visited twice. One instance both of our meals were cold. On another instance my wife had a salad and it was soggy and had no flavor to it and at the same time, unfortunately my meal was cold. It was disappointing to wait for a long time and have our food served cold.

My daughter ordered takeout tonight for our family and we were all extremely disappointed, her most of all. The corn was tasteless and we all assumed it was going to be corn on the cob like it usually is, the shrimp neglected to come with sauce, ribs were burnt and it was overall a terrible experience. My daughter just got her first job and she wanted to treat her brothers and I to some food, she was very upset. We ended up throwing the majority of our meal in the garbage. Maybe it would be much better if we decided against take out and decided to come to dine in. It’s likely we won’t be returning.

The ribs were good, I found Montana's better, or Tony Roma's. Rotisserie chicken was very salty I preferred a bird from the deli at Safeway. Brisket was a little on the salty side as well. Corn and fries were standard. Overall it was good but I was hoping for above average at a specialty BBQ joint like this. My 2 friends all agreed at 3 stars, they felt the same.

Only used 9 seats. Very rude service they didn't even know the rules themselves and just ignored the fact that we were only 9 adults NOT 10 because of my Baby. Arrived at the restaurant and was asked if i was okay to sit at the bar top. I said sure. When trying to order a Pepsi they asked for my id. I responded it's in my car but I'm not planning on drinking any alcohol. They told me I had to go get it anyway or they would lose there job. I retrieved my id from the car and tried to show the bartender she told me she didn't like my attitude ( because I had rushed out to the car to get my id and rushed back to my seat she assumed I was upset) and if I continued I can leave. She then asked if i had ordered a water. I said no a Pepsi but actually I might order something stronger now. She told me that I'm wasting her time and I proceeded to say you are only wasting your own time making me run to the car and fetch my id then won't even check it. She cut me off halfway thru yelling in my face shut up! your wasting my time. I have not yet been offered a menu and may not be eating at this restaurant as my stomach has been off put by this awful experience

Don't waste your time! Waiting times are between 1 hour to 1 hour and a half, no matter what time you go between 5-9 pm (unless you want to have dinner at 3:00 pm), prices are high, restaurant is small, not worth it! Save yourself the trouble, and go to Tony Roma's, more high end and similar prices, but NO WAIT TIME!

On our third attempt to eat here there was (again) over an hour wait to get into the restaurant. So we tried the Express food option. Amazing idea, I'm sure they make a pretty coin serving their food in 10 minutes direct from the kitchen. I tried the wings (small but very tasty, they are known for their sauces), the brisket (decent, but no au jus as described), and the rib tips (really nice portion and great tasting). The sides were great; garlic mashed potatoes, beans, cornbread, all very tasty. I was excited for the spicy pickle/onion but it was disappointingly small. Overall, an over hyped bbq place, perhaps I'll get to sit inside someday!

I ordered ribs, and they were very fatty. The labels on the bottles of the sauces were worn off. As I poured sauce on my ribs,the lid fell off the bottle what a mess. the waiter brought new ribs out for me no problem. But then the new portion of the ribs way smaller than the first amount??? I said I would pay for the glass of wine and deep fried pickles but not the ribs. For all this trouble, if I was the manager I would never let the customer pay for anything.

As a family of 3 with a big appetite we decided to have the big meal for 6 that gets dished up on a trash can lid. Its value for money for us as we have want we want at the restaurant and then box up the rest which will do another meal for us all. Wish we'd known that we could swap the veg as a bowl of sweetcorn is more than 1 can eat as the rest of the party doesn't eat it so unfortunately it got wasted but I shall bare that in mind for next time we go. Ordered a side of onion strings... wow, there were so many of those too! My only gripe is that I think the desserts are overly priced for what you receive.

Seated right away restaurant not busy but it is Monday night. Ordered appetizer and meal. Server was best part of the 72.00 meal for 2. Appetizer came out and within minutes our meals came out. Only hot items served was the appetizer and the meal sides. Ribs were barely warm, chopped pork barely warm served on a dried out piece of Wonder bread. It doesn't pay to be a member of the Hog's Club. I presented the coupon that I was sent as it printed from my computer and the manager came to our table to inform us it was not acceptable. Should have done it before I ordered and I would have left. After further consultation with her GM she decided to honor it this time but in the future I should contact the restaurant for help in printing the coupon. Why don't they just print the coupon that they want me to present, and mail it to me, instead of embarrassing me in front of other patrons?

Went with my family to celebrate my son’s birthday(he loves this place) — service was friendly and efficient, food was good, alcoholic drinks were served promptly, non-alcoholic drinks were refilled in a timely manner. The only gripe was 2 of the 5 mains ordered had minor mistakes and it took a few kind suggestions to get my wife’s corrected(I was starving by then and didn’t want to wait for a new order). Horrible. I ordered the two meat combo and the brisket wasn't juicy, didn't have a smokey flavor I expected, it had to constantly be dipped in BBQ sauce provided to make it palatable. Also the rib tips were DRY, like the dryest rib tips I have EVER eaten at a restaurant and it was really chewy, zero tenderness. And I wasn't surprised after I asked the waitress when they were made and she said in the morning my God. Store bought ribs are more tender, how is that possible? Very dissapointing experience, I thought I was paying top dollar for the American BBQ Experience but this has to be the biggest insult to BBQ.

My husband and I went for dinner here for the first time tonight. I immediately loved the atmosphere, and or waiter Famous Patrick was awesome. He was very personable and a great conversationalist, without it seeming forced. We got Burnt Ends as an appetizer, and it was crazy delicious! Our main was the Feast for Two with brisket, ribs and pulled pork. You can change up the sides for something different which we did, we changed the coleslaw for Baked Macaroni and Cheese (with Jalapeno's!). This feast could easily feed three people as we left with a full take out container. We initially thought the feast was a bit pricey at $48, but we'll with it in the end! Skipped out on desert, and now wish I would have tried something. Bet their desert is just as good! We will be back!

Nice restaraunt but showed up and certain foods are only offered during happy hour (2-6pm) what working person can make it to this end of the city before 6pm to order any of that....and the food isn't on the menu regularly so why is there a card on the table showing it? If you don't offer these products then don't advertise them.... just finished eating and the corn was brown....been here before honestly not impressed and I didn't have a drink for lost of the meal busy night but one cup of coke shouldn't take 20 minutes

My wife and i went to famous Dave's a few weeks back and I must say truly an amazing experience! The food( well portioned I might add) the St Louis style spare ribs were tasty fall of the bone goodness which can rival any other rib style restaurant in the city. The service is also top notch. In the future we plan going here again possibly having a room for a family gathering dinner.

Nearly perfect service. We had to wait an extra while for the corn bread muffins that came with the 2 person platter. Booths are a bit tight at the bar. We had to sit in the bar area, because they were closing the restaurant, but then 2 groups of 8+ people came in and they left the restaurant open, so it was an unnecessary inconvenience.

Decided to try Famous Dave’s after many years, and it’s a shame to say that I will never be back. Their menu is lacking major detail on items..... Caesars are made with bbq sauce... If the menu would have stated I wouldn’t have ordered the drink..... not my favourite.. and felt like an idiot when I had to ask. BBQ nachos aren’t baked... the only thing that’s “warm” is the beans and cheese sauce, but the beans were cold and there was only cold shredded cheese.... Pickles were pre sliced out of the jar.... and deep fried. Not one to make bad reviews... but this experience was quite the disappointment. Save the trip..

When ordering pickup and they say they will bring it out to your car don't believe them. My food was waiting for over 10 minutes by the time we went to check and their response was oops we forgot what your car was. Ordered the burger week burger, it was quite tasty. The fries with it were mediocre. The amount of pineapple when you order the side is very little so that was disappointing.

After waiting for almost 45 minutes, we finally got in. We ordered the feast for two which is the half serving of the legendary BBQ feast. The serving is big. Price is reasonable. Food is OK. Ambience is good. Service is great. After ordering, our order was served within 10 minutes. I`m giving it 3 stars because of the waiting time. They don`t accept reservation during weekends. We were told that waiting time is 1 hour or less. Bottom line, it`s not worth the wait. There are plenty of restaurants nearby so I would recommend go somewhere else if the waiting time is 1 hour.

I tried their specialty poutine during 2021 poutine week and it aas pretty good. It was a large portion size leaving you full at the end and was ready for pick up at the suggested time! We were hoping for 2 ribs but it only comes with 1, which was still delicious and BBQ'd nicely. The ladies at the front were friendly - and kept the flow of "traffic" in the restaurant going in 1 direction, due to covid.

I tried Famous Dave's once before about a year ago and wasn't very impressed. So I figured I'd try again and give it another shot, this time with my family. After being seated quickly, seem to of started off well. That's as far as it went. Waited with wife and kids for server with no kids menus......10 minutes past all we got was stares from passing servers, another couple were seated a few tables away, shortly after a sever came take their drink orders. We were still sitting there looking around looking like idiots. So after between 15-20min for the first time in our lives, We walked out!!! No more second chances. I'm so done......

Ordered the Feast for Two since it was my first time there; I wanted to try more than one or two entrees. While the chopped pork was delicious, it was a fair bit on the salty side. The ribs were amazing, but the chicken was my favorite. Very flavorful and juicy. We also had the beans substituted for a side of mac and cheese, which was decent. Service was great, menu options were explained in great detail and the BBQ sauce presentation was good. Our server was also very attentive and polite. We had intended to sit down in the dining area, but found an open table in the lounge within 5 mins of our arrival, so we sat there. Great atmosphere, not too loud at all. Overall, very impressed with this place, I'll definitely be coming back for the chicken.

The hostess had to come and take our drink order eventually, while on a busy night I can understand why it took so long for service. But our waiter passed us multiple times and we had to get his attention again to remind him that we had asked for a tray of BBQ sauces. I don't know if I'll be going back.

Been here multiple times with no problems, always ordering the larger platter. We (a family of 5) ordered off the menu, couple burgers and ribs and a chicken burger. Our burgers were under done, quite disapointing easpecially since one was from a kids menu. The side of fries thst came with the adult meals were less then a handful, the kids meal had nearly double the amount. The service was great, and the only reason for the 2 stars, Management gave us our raw burgers for free....and offered us some replacement food, but our appetite was gone, probably would not eat there again.

Was pretty disappointed with the servers at this establishment especially when it's the only location in Canada, went for a cold beer and ended up waiting 15 minutes until I got asked if I wanted a beer, when my beer came 10 mins later it was served warm to me.... the place wasn't even busy today, and even after receiving my warm beer, I was not even asked if I wanted food. Spent 10 minutes having my beer and waited another 20 mins to ask if I'd like the bill...... not even if I wanted food or another beer, I was not impressed I had wasted just over an hour just to have a warm beer.

I have been here four times, and honestly the service just keeps going down hill farther with each visit. After this last one on Saturday, there is a very good change I will not go back. Since the first visit the service has gotten really bad, the portions of nachos and fries have gotten much smaller but prices remain the same. The fries tasted like cardboard. I ordered a pineapple margarita, stirred it well, took a few sips and it was disgusting. I asked them to take it back and bring me an iced tea instead. I had to fight to get it taken off my bill. They brought my husband ice cold gravy and then brought him a scolding hot one in a PLASTIC container. They didn't bring us any cutlery, we had to ask them twice to do so. The steamed broccoli used to have a nice mild seasoning to it, now it has nothing. It's just bland and steamed broccoli. Same with the corn bread. it used to be my favourite restaurant corn bread. Now it tastes like nothing. I am seriously not happy with this restaurant any more...

First was to take the drink order, second was to take food order and third was to grab our bills. Didn’t even bat an eye on us after taking our drinks and food, never got checked up on how the food was or if we needed refill of drinks. If we do needed refill we had to flag her down because she didn’t even bother looking at our table at all. One of my friends had to ask for the box of bbq sauce because she forgot to give it to us and she took the ones on the next table and just dropped it on ours and left without saying anything. Horrible service. What’s the point of putting service charge if there was no service at all?

We went for lunch Oct 12th at approx noon place was fairly empty. We ordered, food came in ok time. I ordered a brisket sandwich and fries. One quick look told you it was cold and dry, and should never have been served. Staff never returned to table. My husband went to look. Nobody around. All staff were in the kitchen. So after waiting for about 10 minutes. I called the restaurant's phone number to get service in the restaurant. I was told they were all busy with takeout orders. Then someone came to the table took the food away. I didn't want to order anything else. The manager came said they took my food off the bill apologized. My husband paid for the food he ordered and we left. Food changes hands at least twice before it's served to the customer and no one noticed that it was something that shouldn't have been served. The staff were nice. But I don't think I'll return there

If give it a 0 star if possible. I called to make reservations for 12.. 1st the girl hung up on me after placing me on hold.. no big deal. Called back. They said they're no longer taking reservations. We arrived 20 minutes later. We only had to wait about 5 minutes. But while we waited we over heard them take 2 reservations on the phone for that day. We went with our family and another family. They advised us a graditutity of 15% was mandatory. Silly considering we were 2 families playing 2 bills. But didn't argue the fact. (I can see this being in place for a group indivually paying multiple tabs.. But whatever) still no big deal. We were seated.. The waiter took our drink order took 10 minutes for drinks to arrive. Still no big deal.. But after that didn't come back for 20 minutes. We were now there 30 minutes without even placing an order. I advised the hostess that I will not be paying graditutity for poor service. 25 minutes the waiter came back and I said were ready to order... he said he was going to grab the bill. Lol what??!!! Um ok.. poor service and listening. We left... went to Montanas. Way to go Famous Dave's.. We already knew our bill was going to be 200 alone not including the other family of 6 that was joining ours. Way to go Famous Dave's... You let 400 walk out the door for such terrible service. With all of that being said... this isn't the 1st time I've experienced a poor experience here. The 1st time was when you 1st opened. Manager ended up giving everyone in our party a 20.00 gift certificate because again the waiter had forgot about us. Perhaps hire people that actually care about the company they're working for. The food is always good when we've gone and i never give bad reviews.. But yesterday was an absolutely awful experience.

Extremely disappointing. The sauce was excellent, the spare ribs were passable but the brisket and back ribs were horrible; burned to the point were they were unchewable. I like a crispy charred crust on my meat but these were burned to death. I'm certainly no pitmaster but I could do much better at home. We had a $300.00 tab and half of went into the dog dish; he didn't seem to mind. I'll give Famous Dave 1.5 stars for the sauce and 0.5 stars for the spare ribs.

We did a reservation 30 minutes before arriving in this restaurant but the lady said to able to dine in we need i.d to proof we live in the same house or fully vaccinated which we all have. We usually order takeout from here when family comes to visit from out of town. The servers are helpful with what’s on sale, and what’s good right now. We typically order the feast, and the brisket is absolutely delicious. Same with the chicken, and I don’t even usually like chicken. And OMG THE RIBS ????. The cornbread is kind of meh. Same with the fries. I love the variety of bbq sauce though!

we ordered famous daves legendary bbq feast which is very good for groups and just in case its not enough we ordered legendary feast for one also known as founders feast. Also the starter appetizers are good specially the onion strings and nachos.But the feast is good enough for 6 people it will fill you up before you can finish it servers are nice and attends to your needs the only problem i have is the seats are too tight and narrow which is hard for people with bulky winter jackets and there is no hooks for jackets in the washrooms.area is good. lots of parking and near other establishments if you need other things.i would rate this 8.5 out of 10 i think there is still things to improve on. and by the way vintage decor looks nice

Our waitress was one of the worst waitresses I’ve ever encountered. She was friendly AT ALL in the beginning until I got upset about why it took 30 mins to get our Pepsi’s and 47 minutes to get our food. We never did get our appetizers. She tried to bring it to us AFTER our food finally arrived. Just a foot note there was only 3 other tables at the time that we were there. My son who had an upset stomach had to ask our waitress THREE times where the bathroom was. My daughters food was cold. NEVER gonna go back there again!!!

After the fact birthday dinner due to time commitments we decided on Famous Dave's as we had eaten here before and knew the food and atmosphere were conducive to a good time. We had a reservation for seven persons and it was ready when we arrived. Six and a half of us (one year) decided on drinks, Caesar side salad and the feast for four to six people.

Service was very slow. There were a lot of empty tables and lots of staff simply standing around talking to each other instead of helping customers. It just seemed like the staff could not care less. It took 15 minutes for a server to take our order and we had to flag them down to get them to our table. We ordered the BBQ nachos to start. The nacho chips were quite stale. Would not recommend. We also ordered burgers and the Texas brisket. These were good and were the only saving graces for this terrible establishment. We will not be returning to this restaurant due to the terrible service we have received today. My suggestion to the owner is to improve your restaurant’s customer service.

My family order famous Dave's from skip the dishes. The burger was amazing, the best I've had in a long time. The portions were huge. I got 3 meals out of the burger and fries and it was still amazing reheated. I couldn't find or wish there was an option on skip to add bacon to the burger. My kids ordered the corn dogs. They loved them, again huge portion they got 2 meals out of them. I gave 4 out of 5 stars because my mom ordered a chicken ceasar salad and the chicken was burnt and bitter tasting. I did try a piece it was super bitter. Other than the chicken, it was amazing thank you.

Great atmosphere, but the ribs are coated in a sauce while they have 5 different sauces on the table you can't taste them with the over powering sauce already on the food

Went with the family for my uncles 79th birthday. Okay service in the beginning only thing hot was the appetizers.Everything else warm at best if not cold.There was two fruit flys in my sister's beer. 15% inforced tip for what bad service and cold food they offered her another drink see replied water guess what never came as the bill was paid and she was forgotten.

Decent bbq. They recently came out with weekday specials. I preferred famous Dave's location in Kansas City, but this one is ok. Service will depend on who you get. The last server we had was great. There was issues with our food but she corrected them. For appetizers... Skip the nachos unless you want a taco salad... There was barely any cheese on it when we ordered it. Go for the burnt ends (they aren't actually burnt) and the rib tips instead. If you can only go for one then the burnt ends. Good for families. Food is consistent. The non alcoholic version of their alcoholic slushies are $4.50. (this price wasn't on the menu)

Ordered full rack of baby back ribs and St. Louis ribs with sides, costed $65 plus tip. Ribs are little dry but okay. Full rack is pretty big and you will be full. Sides are ordinary frozen products. Mac and cheese is terrible, I would not order again. You can get ribs only for a reduced price. Lots of paper towel and wet napkins are supplied on each table, which is good. Servers are nice and kind. The interior is made all of wood and nice. The washroom was moderately clean. I would not bring out of town guests here, but if I am close to this restaurant, I might come back again.

Customer service is not very nice. One of the staff was not happy serving us. And she even moved the chairs with force it felt like she doesn't like us at all. I don't want to say racist but it felt that way. We will not go back to that place again.. poor service!

ordered the legendary feast today. But we noticed that there was something missing to our order (the ribs) so called back within less then 5 minutes of having the food dropped off and explained that we are missing our ribs from the plater waited on hold for 3 minutes only to be told that we are wrong and that the ribs are there or we must have eaten them. Umm we just had it deliver. Explained that there are no ribs now waiting for 1hour to have the rest of our order delved. Person on the phone was rude and I was insinuating that we had eaten them already.

Right now don't bother going. They refused to sit my brother because he dident have ID becuase he's 15. They were out of cornbread and chicken. So it was pointless to even order out. The male at the door was extremely rude. Saying all of us had to sit at different tables because my bother doesn't have ID and I dident think of even brining ID becuase I'm not driving.

This is by far the best BBQ restaurant that I've been to in Winnipeg! I ordered the Founder's Feast (shown in pic) and I was 100% satisfied. There was so much food and it was all delicious! I would highly recommend this restaurant to all people

Had a work to get together proximately 16 of us unfortunately due to the Covid situation we all couldn’t sit together for safety reasons was an amazing experience interesting items on the wall was a mixture of Montana’s and bass pro shop. Old style barbeque everything tasted amazing with that smoked flavour which was delicious reasonable prices they also give military discount not one person had a complaint about the food or drinks will definitely come back with the family
