The oreo cheesecake was incredible. Take & Bake loaded nachos were delicious, especially the charred tomato salsa. Unfortunately the fries were a huge disappointment as they were $10 and we got maybe a handful of fries, they were for a child who doesn't eat other things like the nachos we ordered so I ended up making him other food as he was still hungry, for that price I would expect more than what we got. Overall we were happy with the quality of the food, the quality needs to be adjusted.

I came in about 1pm, Tuesday, december 31st, with my mom, we sat on the heated patio two tables from the door. My service was absolutely excellent from beginning to end. I was served by a young lady with dark hair, I think her name was m? I can't remember either way excellent place, I would highly recommend.

Went here for an early lunch and had a great experience overall. My food was very tasty (I had their hot chicken sandwich with the onion rings), the service was friendly and prompt, and the price was fairly reasonable. Great spot for drinks or for larger groups. When I left around 12pm on a Sunday, it was starting to get somewhat busy, but it still didn't look as though there was a wait for a table.

DISAPPOINTED!! Usually Browns has great burgers. This one was cooked very unevenly. The edges of the whole thing were burnt and the middle was squishy. Fries were mostly end pieces and not hot, gravy good and hot. But i didn't spend $25 just to get the gravy. If it was dine in i'd have sent back. Day cooks need better training! Where's the quality control! This shouldn't happen at such a popular place.

Very tasty food, great service, and good COVID protocols. Definitely recommend for lunch, dine-in or takeout. Fries were crispy and went well with the gravy. Chicken in the spicy chicken burger had a great taste and crisp coating. Salsa with the quesadillas was fresh made and a good amount of heat to it. Guacamole was tasty but pretty standard. Portions were large enough that we took some home.

It will definitely be one of my favorite places and I highly recommend it.

Excellent restaurant. The staff are very polite and friendly and the food is good. Our server did not miss a beat when it came to topping up drinks or clearing away dishes. It was very busy for a Tuesday evening, but we did not have to wait for a table. You may want to make a reservation if you have 4 or more people in your party.

Food was fantastic! Only lost one star because the service was so slow. Got our app (calamari) quickly then had to wait about 30 mins longer for our burger and bowl to arrived. Asked for hot sauce on the side and the waitress got distracted and forgot to bring it so we had to ask our bartender to bring us some instead.

Blantanly watched astaff not scan covid QR codes or when they did, they did not ask for a secondary price if ID . Then heard the patrons laughing about how they weren't vaccinated and how easy it was to use someone else's code to get in! Friends and I try yo get together once a month at a new place I chose Browns Socialhouse, have been driving past it for years. Very comfortable atmosphere and we were seated immediately, service was prompt, drinks and then our food. There was no complaints at our table.

Ahi Tuna Poke bowl is my go to at this place. The staff is great and the ambiance works well for a casual fine dining experience. Really enjoy the lighting here. Give the patio a go it is heated, personally I find the seating out there better for lounging than dining.

Wanted to take my twins there for their 16th birthday. I called them up to make reservations and they said something so ridiculous I had to do a Google review, "we don't take reservations on Friday and Saturday nights because it's too busy". Like seriously? I've never heard of such a crazy thing in my life. That's WHY YOU MAKE RESERVATIONS. I've never been there, and I'll never go.

Server was friendly, although more interested in socializing with friends who walked in just before us. The drinks were good, and the food was okay. We went after a very long day and just wanted some quick, decent food before driving home, so didn't bother mentioning the burger and pizza were both way over cooked. Also worth mentioning that the burger looked like it could pass as an A&W burger, due to being put together sloppy and having the thickest, whitest chunk of lettuce inside the bun

This was my first time eating here and the food was great. I loved how it was presented. Our particular server had a lot of skill in her trade and knowledge of the menu. Came in for lunch and was out within 45 minutes so that was a plus. The open kitchen concept was a delight. Seeing the cooks busy about their duties was an extra little bit of joy to watch. All in all, the experience was fantastic. I'll be coming back soon!

My mother and I came in the other days for a few much needed drinks after saying goodbye to our dog who passed suddenly. It wasn't five minutes from when I was stroking her ears and crying my eyes out to when we sat at a table. We were a mess. It was embarrassing, and I'm sure super uncomfortable for everyone around us. Our server was super understanding, and shared that she had also recently lost a dog. It wasn't only losing a dog that made our day difficult, but my father is also going through some very tough health problems. The dog got sick the day he got home from the hospital. I've been in the industry for a long time, and I've learned that you never really know why people act out of the ordinary when you're serving them. We are all just living lives, and sometimes they are hard. The point of this long winded review is, when it came time for the bill, they had comped it. We both started ugly crying. It doesn't take a grand gesture to turn someone's rotten day around, but it takes a special person to realize how a little one can make a huge difference. It really did, and you don't know how thankful I am for it.

Terrible service. Decent food. We waited over 20 minutes to get a water and an ice tea. By the time we got the ice tea, it had visibly sat at the bar for over 10 minutes. She didn't even bring the water until the meal was completely done. I asked for a dipping sauce, the waitress stood talking with people for a long time while my food got cold before she finally came over and then remembered that I needed the sauce.

Ordered scrambled eggs which were cooked in grease, tasted awful, sourdough toast was slathered in butter and not toasted properly.The fish and chips were very greasy, olive oil put in the coleslaw. The jam for the toast was so hard you could not peel out of the container and coffee was overpriced at 3.75 per cup. They must do better in the kitchen. They ended up not charging for the breakfast.

Our family comes here for dinner a handful of times a year and we have never had a bad meal or service. Staff is always friendly and even when they are busy I never felt like they forgot about us. I love the dry ribs and the wings and often get them delivered to my house by Skip The Dishes. I havent had anything I dont like off the menu and really enjoy the Pub burger and all of the bowl dishes. The kids aged 13, 9, and 6 really like coming here. I have heard people say it is a bit loud when full but its just typical of a happening place and doesn't bother us at all, in fact we quite enjoy it !!

This was a great place for dinner. There is a covered patio if you want to sit outside. The staff were very friendly and speedy. I got the steak and alfredo pasta which is a weird combination that I wouldn't recommend. The pasta was great and the steak was cooked how I ordered it but they didn't go well together. This was our first experience at Browns Social house and I can say we were not impressed. One would expect better service and food given the prices. We ordered starters which never came, when our mains arrived we asked about the starters and it turns out the server forgot to put the order into the kitchen. No apology, she just informed us she would take it off the bill. My husband ordered the szechuan beef noddle bowl and asked the server to not add any spice to it, but when it arrived it was so spicy and drowning in sauce that he couldn't finish it. We asked the server for more water which never came. When it was time to pay our bill the server came with the debit machine, only to inform us she didn't know how to use it, and said she would be right back. We proceeded to wait another 20 minutes as the serving was helping new tables. Eventually someone els came over to take our payment. I did enjoy the gluten free brownie quite a bit, but our overall experience was quite disappointing.

Many of my old staff parties have been held here, and have been handled very well considering the difficulty in serving over 30 people at a time. The food is similar to that of a restaurant style bar, although nothing stands out. What makes Browns' such a popular spot is the open floorplan, allowing a lot of socializing with other patrons.

Really disappointed with our meals tonight. I ordered the southwest chicken bowl with extra feta. Maybe the order was wrong or I did not tip enough ( on a pick up order) because I got not one single piece of feta. My husband ordered some spicy beef bowl with extra meat and he got maybe 7 pieces in total. The bowls are tiny and half empty and each meal was over 20.00 a piece.. It's to expensive to waste money so I recommend people try the noodle box next door. It's half the price, tastes just as good and you get enough food to be full. Nobody answers the phone so you cannot talk to a human. So Google review it is. Shame on you Browns Social House! You should be embarrassed. Just because we ordered to go we should get sloppy half portions.

Sad to say that the food is not good anymore. Not sure what happened with them but the size is now smaller and the price is higher than before. The chicken was so dry and the amount of sauce in the dragon bowl was to much. Couldnt taste the coconut rice at all and maybe 1 scoop of rice was in the bowl and few veggies only for $21, sad. My husband had a lettuce wrap and same thing the chicken was dry and for the price we would've expect more in the plate. Really disappointing ???? wont go back

Very underwhelming. The Social Lager was terrible, I could only drink 1/5th of it before giving up. Chicken parm was like boot leather and the fettuccini Alfredo turned out to be undercooked noodles in oil with some parm sprinkled in. The spicy tuna roll was spiced with Franks Hot sauce we think. *****But the manager was fantastic about everything!

They have a cool menu, very diverse, anyone can find something appetising for them. Most things are pretty tasty too. I would say they actually have excellent customer service, all of the staff are very friendly and upbeat. The price is a bit above average but it's good food. The only thing I can legitimately complain about is the coffee, it's seriously awful. Tastes like instant mix, old, burnt, almost made me gag. Asides from coffee It's a cool place to add into your restaurant circuit.

I went here and had probably the worse experience of dining ever! We eat at Brown's a lot (first time at this location) and the server was pathetic, clearly did not care to be there or to serve us, it wasn't even busy and we had to pretty much serve ourselves asking other servers to get any service! Was very surprised this happened and there was also a manger there who did not even watch this particular terrible server so it makes me wonder what do the supervisors actually do allowing this and not noticing the horrible job that she did! Will never return to this location but we will continue to go to the other locations we have better service at!

The jus the last time was a little salty but still a great dish.

Our steakhouse burgers were great. They were playing good tunes and those interested in sporting events could watch the games or events on the big screen tvs. Even though it was late afternoon after the lunch rush our waitress seemed to have forgotten us after we received our food at the table. Browns Socialhouse in Nanaimo North is a cozy, friendly little place to relax and enjoy a fine meal. I started with the crunchy spicy tuna tacos, which were tasty and had a satisfying amount of crunch. My entrée was the steak sandwich, which was an unexpected delight. The steak was cooked to perfection and was one of the most flavorful and tender cuts of beef I've ever had, which is not something I would have expected from your average steak sandwich. I would love to see them prepare a proper steak dinner, with that entree being a strong indication of those abilities. Dessert was an Oreo Jar, a Oreo cheesecake in a Mason jar, which was velvety smooth, rich, with a crunchy Oreo base. Definitely worth going again. Have since tried their burgers and pizza, both of which were well above average.

We went to Browns’s tonight after plans for another restaurant that was closing at 8pm. We had a great experience overall that we wanted to share! It’s a Tuesday night, restaurant was prob around half full. We were greeted very promptly by a professionally dressed hostess who was very friendly and seated us right away. Water was offered immediately, we were given menus, and the service was soooo prompt and exceptional. The food was hot, fresh tasting and the bill was brought as soon as we requested it. Ordered scrambled eggs which were cooked in grease, tasted awful, sourdough toast was slathered in butter and not toasted properly.The fish and chips were very greasy, olive oil put in the coleslaw. The jam for the toast was so hard you could not peel out of the container and coffee was overpriced at 3.75 per cup. They must do better in the kitchen. They ended up not charging for the breakfast.

We were amazing we had seating right away because the entire place was packed. I must say even worth being so very busy the service was still impeccable. I went with friends whom often frequent Brown's...they had rave reviews of their own. I'm definitely going to return and looking forward to it.

So... Just so you know... When you order your food to go.. Ask them to cook it? I ordered nachos to go.. . And waited patiently at the door for 35 minutes. I've had the nachos many times.. They are very good.. But for some odd reason, my order came as you see in the picture.. Not cooked.. 35 minutes, $25.00... Not cooked... What the heck? It's the only reason for the two stars.. I would have tried to call, but you can't actually call and talk to a real human.. So I'm stuck with a review for now.

Customer service was great! If you haven't yet tried the crispy cauliflower, I highly recommend you give it a try. My goto meal is the steak frites with herb garlic butter...always perfectly prepared and delicious.

I can't believe we haven't left a review for Browns yet! We've had plenty of take out from browns and the food is always delicious. Tonight my husband and I dined in and my husband said his steak was cooked absolutely perfectly. The service was so quick and friendly, great atmosphere and tons of food selection.

Not bad food overall, however I'd recommend staying away from the 9 dollar order of extra fries if getting them on Skip the Dishes. I felt the price for a side of fries was exorbitant to start, but upon receiving a small box of about 20 to 30 fries, I knew I made one of the biggest online food ordering mistakes of my life. Kind of insulting to pay so much and receive so little, especially since the cost of the fries to the restaurant was probably about $1.00. Anyway, fool me once Browns....I'll try elsewhere next time.

Last (snowy) Sunday Night Feb 10 we stopped in after a harrowing drive from Comox. We waited 45 minutes for 2 kids cheese pizzas and received rubbery Calamari. When the food came, the kids pizza had corn on it (?) and the salad was boring. Burger was great though. We were pretty upset. Still had to drive onto Mill Bay and it was dark and snowy. Manager came over and handled the ENTIRE BILL . Must have been close to $80! She apologized for the poor service, explained that they were short staffed due to the poor weather. Talk about a class act move! Smart business manager, she knows there are choices in town, this way she keeps us as her customers. 2 Thumbs Up!
