Great environment, large and open with good decor. Had the chicken sandwich, which was good. What wasn't great was the service, wasn't asked how the food was, or if I'd like another drink. Had to track down a server eventually just to get the cheque so I could leave. Oh. One last thing. Their ceasars didn't taste like a ceasar, not sure what sort of mix they're using, but it isnt clamato. Tasted like it had vinegar or something in it.

A bit pricey but not bad! I had their fudge brownie for dessert and it's served with icecream and it was probably the best brownie/ice cream combo i have ever tried!! SO GOOD!!! the brownie part was so warm and fresh and the ice cream was cold!!! I WAS drooling the entire time.

Truly a visit that will be the last for our entire collective group. There were numerous issues with the rest of my group but personally the beer taps need a good cleaning as the draft tasted off. Then the appies were a laugh for the entire group. Personally I got a simple salt and pepper wings and a side of fries. The smallest most pathetic obviously frozen at some point wings greatly disappointed in portion size but also in flavor. Dry and not a drop of juice whatsoever when hand squeezed. Then the fries.... how does one mess up a side of fries. Well you slap 21 chips on a plate, including tiny shards and a chunk of what looked like fish batter and take up half the plate with a unasked for side of ketchup and horrible not aioli. If you are going to say its aioli make it aioli...not some still chunky gfs mayo and some garlic powder. And for gods sake... dont mess up an order of wings and fries.

We were seated on the enclosed patio in the back booth which had a heater above us. We were toasty warm and so I certainly would recommend this spot if the restaurant is full. Or even if it isn’t! We have some favourites on the menu here and as always we had excellent food, prepared quickly and served with a smile.

The service was friendly and quick, the food we ordered was fresh. The restaurant was clean and comfortable. When I noticed that my salad had walnuts, which I'm allergic to, the server promptly replaced my meal with no fuss. Overall, my friend and I enjoyed our lunch date and the food was very good. The daily drink specials were also delicious. We ordered mojitos and would be back for more.

Five out of five for the great customer service experience! We had ordered from Skip the Dishes and the delivery driver dropped it off at someone else's house. Skip was horrible to deal with and credited back my money, but that did not fix the issue that we were hungry and had no food. After we called Browns to what we could do, the Manager personally drove the food to our house and delivered it himself! I would love to see Browns employ their own delivery driver (like Boston Pizza). I am sure there are enough orders to do this! That way, they are even in more control over the situation and do not have annoying delivery drivers standing in the way waiting for food. We will continue to order from Browns as we are always happy with the food quality and service. We also cannot wait to go back in and have a meal in their establishment soon! Thanks again.

On top of adding special touches for my mother's bday since we couldn't be there to celebrate with her. Service was great ! Food was terrible! Ordered the chicken parm. My plate arrived and I almost sent it back, large plate with very little food, rim of plate was filthy for being handled with gooey fingers. Food was almost not edible and looked like it just came out of the microwave. Had the brownie for dessert was warm looked good but was basically tasteless. I don’t mind paying for decent food but found this was way to expensive. This wasn’t even close to decent. First time there and wont return. I don’t usually bother with reviews unless it was really bad. Was with Rob B and see he left a review also.

Brown's Social is a chain that continues to impress me with how good it is, wherever I visit. The menu doesn't entirely suit my tastes (I don't find Asian fusion dishes very interesting), but that's just a peculiarity of my taste -- objectively, it's well thought out and imaginative. The kitchen couldn't be better; everything is always very well prepared and presented. The service people have always been outstanding. One problem I have is the background noise level. I go to restaurants to have a conversation, not to be entertained. And I don't want a conversation that involves shouting in order to be heard over the shouted conversations at the next table. Brown's, like many similar places, clocks in at between 70 and 80 decibels when busy, which is at the high end of acceptable. I wish they would set aside one section of the restaurant where the music speakers were turned down a little. But that's my only issue, and it's not an issue that bothers everybody. I highly recommend this chain.

Delicious food via delivery. Above and beyond customer service. Recently ordered the Ramen and some wine and they sent the wrong wine. I called restaurant and spoke to the manager who was very kind, apologetic and professional. He not only sent a worker to deliver the correct wine, but included a $5 off card AND wouldn't take back the wrong wine. Extraordinary customer service and very much appreciated!

The atmosphere makes this bar, a basic menu and a good list of foods tho it can be a little pricey. Lighting, seating and design of the bar is great and makes you feel very warm and comfortable. This place is amazing. It was Valentine’s Day and everywhere was full of people. But this place offers a nice spot for us, which we didn’t expect, and their food is unexpectedly delicious! Especially the pork roll. For drinks, I LOVE THEIR SOCIAL SODA!!! It’s basically Bellini but well-made and tastes really fruitful. Service is also fantastic!

Browns Social House is always a good time. Our Server Cole was delightfully friendly, humorous and prompt. He should get a raise if he hasn’t already. I would consider Cole as an asset to Browns as he took great care of us and was very patient as I was meeting with a friend I hadn’t seen in 2 years. Thanks for the awesome service and keep up the great work. Browns is in a great location and you can always count on consistency when it comes to the food and drinks. Excellent meals. I had the Baja Fish Tacos with tossed salad, my friend had a superbly cooked Hollywood burger with all the trimming. Friends who like friends can adjust to the noise level in this place.. it wasn't a concern. It's s social drinking place after all! we washed down our food with beers. Guinness on tap is strongly recommended ???? and oh yes, they checked our Vax cards and ID. ????

In September 2019, my partner and I came in for a meal. We had unfortunately just lost his mother unexpectedly that week and we went out on a 'date' as she always reminded us how important going out on regularly was. Since this review is so late I unfortunately don't remember the name of the young woman who served us but I will never forget our experience. She was very pleasant and kind throughout the meal, making sure to check on us without being pushy. At the end when she asked why we were out and we explained, it was her reaction that sealed the experience as our best. She gave my partner a hug and expressed her sympathy which seemed truly genuine. I wish I had left this review earlier but it's been a rough year and it always slipped my mind. We meant to start going to that restaurant regularly as a result but we haven't been in the area. We're back now and once (hopefully) COVID goes away, we do plan to go back and I hope we are able to see this young woman again as we'd each love to thank her in person for the amazing service, it truly touched us at a bad time.

So yummy, the Oreo cheesecake-mousse in a jar was so amazing I’d go back just for that. Also really cool ambiance. Servers all wore masks and I’m told so do the cooks, tables were socially distanced, hand sanitizer at doors, obv it’s covid time atm so I really appreciated their dedication to “stopping the curve”. I can only assume they’re this dedicated in all their stuff. Also the Bellini was so good, the vegetarian rice bowl was great, and my dad loved his mushroom bacon burger too.

This was the absolute worst experience at a restaurant for a birthday party. We waited over an hour for our food and when we received it a friends nachos were burnt. When she indicated she wasn't happy browns tried to push replacing it. When we indicated we waited so long the waitress LIED to the manager saying we all weren't ready to order at the same time. However we ALL placed our orders at 7p. And she placed our order 30mins after. I only feel they did this to force our huge group to stay longer and order more booze to make them more money. Just a joke to employ staff who lie this way. Do not eat here.

Browns used to be my go too, unfortunately the consistency of the food has off put me. Sometimes it's amazing , sometimes you feel like you're getting ripped off. Tonight was one of those nights , Oreo jar- minimal fillings and only half a serving on top . Why not layer it fully ? Feels like you don't get a full desert for the price of $10. The actual cheesecake is at the most half an inch & most of this cup is just Oreos crushed up.

Overall I've had great experiences, although when I ordered take out last night I was not impressed at all. I was told that my salad should be out any minute (passed the expected time) and I was to wait outside in the pouring rain as I forgot my secondary ID...I waited for atleast ten minutes watching numerous people recieve their orders until I was so cold I went in to say I was waiting in my car instead, she turned around to check the take out bags and the order had been sitting there ready!!!! So I was left to wait in the wind and rain for no reason, and there was zero apology!! ????

One of the best place or only place to chill with good drinks and food options in Langford area. Easily accessible through bus route 50. They have variety of beers and cocktails but Sangria is personally my favourite. Their bowls are amazing and snacks too. Had the french dip and the fish and chips. The dip consisted of a sandwich with baguette bread and slow cooked beef. The bread was somewhat crunchy with a nice soft center. The meat was well seasoned with good loose moist texture. The dip was some sort of gravy with garlic. In this eater's humble opinion, it was a little salty, but it isnt really mandatory to slather it on, so season to taste. The salad that came with the french dip was a normal salad. The leaves were crisp. The fish and chips had standard fries. The fish was cod, with crisp, clean breading; not overcooked or too greasy or too wet. Quite tasty with the tartar sauce. Finished with key lime pie, which had an appropriately tangy tasty with a kick of salty. Price was as expected for an establishment of this calibre. Something in the 60s after tip.

Went to browns as everywhere else was closed. Wanted fish and chips. Staff was super cool and friendly but checked on us once. Parm fries were sub par. Toquitos were ok but also cheap so you can't complain. Yam fries were good, fish was good. Main reason why I won't go back is tip options are 18% 20% and 25%. For bringing out 2 drinks and 2 plates and then sneakily not having a 15% option? What did I do? I tipped the 18%. Not the waitresses fault, but I won't be going back. 2 drinks 1 small low priced Appy and 2 fish and chips sub yam fries and sub Parm fries. Total bill $80... For %18 I'll quit my job and bring out 2 plates... Friends making $14 an hour busting wrenches in the sun at an oil change shop.

Noisy and so so service. We have been several times to Browns and it is almost always very noisy. That we can live with. But the bigger challenge is the inconsistent food quality. Last visit (September 24th) I ordered a Cowboy Salad without croutons and dates. I am allergic to gluten and I hatw dates. Out comes my salad covered in croutons. When I advised the runner I ordered without croutons and dates she said it a was put in as no dates and no walnuts. So she takes it away and arrives back with the same plated salad minus the croutons, dates and walnuts! ????

This place is great, service was excellent, and the massive floor space allows for little to no wait time at lunch. I have not been there at night and can’t speak to the setting during those hours. Staff was very friendly and the only reason why this place gets a 4 star is due to being a typical Victoria restaurant with steep prices for the food quality, which sit at around pub level for most items on the menu. It was an overall excellent experience and I will certainly visit again.

Had the best veggie burger of my life here! My boyfriend also said that his chicken sandwich was one of the best he’s ever had. The downtown location the first time we went was way above and beyond awesome and we both had constant refills and super fast service. We’ve gone to the langford location and the food just wasn’t quite as good. It was pretty standard, but didn’t blow us away like the downtown location’s food did. We also found that the service wasn’t quite as attentive but again, still good. I would say it’s worth the drive to eat downtown. Every time after we’ve gone there and it’s always perfect!

Tried Brown’s takeout last night for Mother's Day and was super disappointed, especially based on previous reviews. Ordered the Blackened Chicken Alfredo and it had almost no sauce, super dry, no flavour and where was the Bacon? As for the Quesadilla, had barely any filling and the Yam Fries were over salted. To leave on a positive note the Chipotle Mayo for the Yam Fries was amazing! I would buy that stuff in a bottle.

We went to Browns for brunch/lunch after visiting a friend at Vic General Hospital. We were promptly seated, drinks provided and our order taken. The brunch salad that I had was very good. My husband had the quesadilla that he said was also very good. Our friend enjoyed the fish & chips, and our other friend enjoyed the Blackened Chicken Cowboy salad. The service was quick and our needs attended to. Would certainly go back for another meal. The food was very good and prices certainly reasonable :)

Came in on a super busy Saturday evening for dinner with a buddy... Couldn't believe how fast and friendly the service was. The girls (and guys) were incredibly accommodating and we were astonished at how fast they were able to get our food out (which was delicious and perfectly done). We didn't have to wait any more than a minute for anything, drinks were always full, empty plates were taken in record time. I left my hoodie in one of the booths when we left and one of the waiters caught it and ran it out to me before we even made it out the door. I can't recommend this location enough, the entire staff was on point. I will definitely be coming back.

Alright! A night of total disastrous experience, the one that I can’t forget. Made a reservation 30’ prior to coming in and as we walked in group of 8 people, very politely asked for a glass of water as one of our friends in the group wasn’t feeling okay. Explained my rationale why i meed the water and also explained we would be dining in, host very rudely denied the request. Then, at the same place as we were checking in, I explained that i lost my ids and offered to show the e-copy and my vaccine QR code. Manager came and very rudely denied us saying we would only be allowed with a physical ID. I offered to show more than one electronic ID, again got refused to come in. Now, please explain me how this restaurant would help a client who has lost his/her ID and wants to come in and dine. On a very serious/emotional note, it was a friends birthday that was ruined by a host and her manager who behaved arrogantly and the situation that could have been fixed at that point, made it an experience hard to digest. I feel humiliated with the experience I was provided. Living on the island for last five years and have never come across this kind of customer service. It was 10 o’clock on Saturday (October 9th 2021). I don’t know how would the management address this, if you need detailed information, please contact me as i’m very disappointed with the service i was provided even after I had the reservation that ruined the night for the birthday girl. Thank you!

Always great food! I would say the burgers at Brown's Social House have to be my favorite burgers of any restaurant right now. They are so well made and are delicious! The servers are also fantastic and there service is top notch. Definitely I place I visit for lunch, dinner or group outings on a regular basis. I would definitely recommend trying it out as soon as you can!!

Great night out at Browns Socialhouse. The service was fast considering how very busy they were. We booked our reservation on line and were seated within about 10 minutes of arrival. The food was delicious especially the brownie dessert. Yummy!

First time I went I ordered food for pick up, when I got there they had given my food to a skip driver and I had to wait for them to remake everything as I had already paid online for the food.. they had gave me a credit to go back so I figure why not and go sit inside this time... bad mistake on my behalf again, I ordered two coffees and a water for my daughter, the coffee was warm and there was something floating in my daughters water, I waiting around for 5 minutes until someone came over I brought this to her attention then she left to go find my server which by that time was another 5 minutes at that point I had just had enough and another horrible experience with them and just left.

The service was wonderful and happy hour $4 beers. The service was really good and had a fun atmosphere. One thing of note is the menu doesn't exactly isn't exactly accurate. My husband ordered the Hickery Burger cause it was the only burger with no special sauce (it had barbeque sauce), however the burger came with special sauce which he had to scrap off. When he asked a other server why there is special sauce on the burger when it's not on the menu, the server answered that all the burgers had special sauce. We checked the menu again, yet it only had barbeque sauce. Our server was polite and asked if he wanted to get a new burger but he just decided to keep it and get rid of the sauce. I ordered the cowgirl salad which was awesome but I had corn on it, meanwhile the menu did not incidate corn in the salad. Luckily, I like corn and didn't mind but this may not be the case for everyone. I'd also like to add the salad was quite small for a meal size. Dessert was awesome and a good portion for the brownie. In conclusion, food was good minus the menu discrepancies, Browns management should sort that out. Surely this isn't the first time.

We love coming to Browns Socialhouse in Langford. We had the baja fish tacos and butcher block burger and it was excellent! Prices are reasonable and the staff are friendly, cheerful, and bubbly. I've eaten here several times. For a "chain" pub the food is excellent. Prices are high, but that seems to be the case with most every place these days. Service is good and prompt. Ambiance also great. If you are interested in pub fare with an upscale twist, this is the place for you.

Like with all of the other browns, the food is good but the wait staff are hit or miss. The first time we went, we had decent service. Our waitress was somewhat attentive, and we only had trouble getting the bill. The most recent time though, our waitress spent more time hitting on some guy at the bar than she focused on her tables. The entire event of us ordering food and drinks seemed like a chore to her, and she created a really negative dining experience. The food is still great, but it will be a while before we return.

Ordered a Vodka lemonade and you could hardly taste the lemonade or vodka. It just tasted watered down. My chicken quesadilla was terrible, soggy from oil and hardly anything in it. One slice was just wrap. To make matters worse, I had 1/3 of my drink left and the waitress walked up and topped it off with water before I could stop her. Never Again!

Pretty great food from this location for takeout. Calamari was cooked well (we added some pepper as the flavour was a little lacking). Fish tacos were huge and very filling. The beef dip sandwich was very well received. The regular fries were excellent, however the sweet potato fries tasted awful and frozen (I would not recommend these). All in all a good meal at a fair price.

Came here for mine and hubby's 7 year anniversary and would never come here again. It was a dead week night with 6 waitresses and hardly anyone in the restaurant. It took a waitress 20 mins just to ask us what we would like to order, then another 25 mins to get our food followed by another 20 mins just to get our bills after we were finished. The food is extremely overpriced for the portions you get and was mediocre tasting at best. Save your money and go elsewhere.

Parking was tough even after the lunch rush. I had the ahi tuna tacos appy and they forgot to put in the tuna. Not joking not any I could detect. I should have complained but that never goes well when everyone else has their meals. Very pricey @ 14 dollars for 4 small tacos. ☹️

Great location in the heart of the Goldstream Village, right near the fountain. The food is a tad over priced for what it is, however there ate few vegetarian options. My server was rather unpleasant, she had a very rude tone while saying "...that's what I'm explaining if you would stop talking." That is not something you say to customers, whether or not they're talking over you. The atmosphere is quite relaxed, very warm and welcoming.- seems like it could have been a great place to enjoy a meal
