Very chill vibe with great food and service. They allow you to make reservations and send in pre-orders via email so your food is ready within minutes of you arriving. We booked a work lunch for 40 people and we were in and out of the restaurant in under 1 hour. Jay (GM at Brown's off of Plessis) was a great host and had our names listed and organized at each table to efficiently coordinate everyone's food and minimize payment time after eating. Everyone's food arrived hot and tasty with clean presentation on all dishes. Highly recommended for group bookings, drinks after work, or any time you want a good beer and some food with your buddies! Jay and his staff will always ensure you leave satisfied!

My girlfriend and I decided to come for dinner. We were seated immediately, and given menus by the woman bartending. I looked around and there was maybe 5 tables with people inside and 5 outside. Our server, came 10 minutes later after we had to ask for someone to take our order. We placed our order, ate and someone from the bar grabbed our dishes. We proceeded to wait for our bill but nobody came to help us. We had to ask the person grabbing tables to get someone to give us our bill. The girl from the bar printed and gave it to us finally but went back to bartending. She filled her drink orders and came back to take payment. We saw our server once throughout our entire experience. Meanwhile people that came in after us received immediate service, I'm really starting to think that, we, the couple with a visible minority just happens to be treated as low priority, this is racist. We will not be returning to an establishment that makes their visitors feel lesser than any other human being. 2 stars for a nice looking place.

My husband and I decided to treat ourselves to lunch today and I cannot express how disappointing it was. My husbands burger was only warm; I asked for no spicy stuff on my fish taco, had to send it back and then it returned it did not even put a bit of plan mayo on it; I had to take the fish taco apart to find a tiny scrap of under cooked fish; the taco was smothered in so much cabbage (with absolutely no dressing of any kind) it was stupid; we were not offered refills on our drinks. Overall not a good experience at all and would not recommend this restaurant.

Dollar for Dollar, Browns is probably my new favorite restaurant in Winnipeg. I have tried nearly half of the menu, and everything has been fantastic. The staff at both locations are friendly, the food comes out quickly, and the atmosphere is great! I also really enjoy the patio.

What a pleasant surprise. I went to Browns Socialhouse as part of a large group, and everyone at the table enjoyed the food, drink, service, and ambience. Bearing obvious similarities with both the Earls and Moxie's chains, Browns has an extensive "American" menu that would be sure to please omnivores - vegans and vegetarians have far fewer options, but our server raved about the veggie burger. The pizza was definitely a standout; the crust had the airiness and crisp chew unique to well-made dough and a blazing hot oven. The Hollywood burger is a fantastic In-N-Out Burger clone, complete with paper wrapper and crisp, well-seasoned fries.

Food was tasty and service was excellent. They even accommodated my wife who asked if they could make something that was no longer on the menu. We were there at peak hours, yet food came quickly and was well prepared. Tables and booths surround a rectangular bar in the middle of the restaurant. TVs are located around the room for catching a game with friends. Although the restaurant has a bit of a bar/pub feel, kids are allowed. Would definitely recommend this restaurant.

This is now the second time that the Cowboy Salad had cabbage that was old and black on the edges. When I last brought this to the managers attention, he assured me he would assure that this would not happen again. Best to stay away from anything with cabbage or lettuce in it. Very unappetizing.

These folks really take care of their customers! I was one in a party of 6. I ordered the Blackened Chicken Caesar salad and I really should have ordered it with the dressing on the side as I found the salad over saturated with it. Also I found my dish to be quite salty but not inedible. My friend ordered his steak medium well and it came to the table quite bloody, which is my favourite but NOT his! I quickly notified the server and the problem was rectified but sadly my friend’s steak came well after everyone had finished eating. The establishment apologized profusely for this and did not charge us for his meal. Everyone else thought their food was delicious. We had burgers, fettuccine and ramen around the table m. Doggie bags were needed. ????

The wait staff took forever and when I finally got my food there was a hair in it!! ???? When asking to speak to the manager the staff was ignored my call for help until I finally got up and walked directly to the staff and complained in person. The general manager was a complete a* hole. Cannot believe my experience at this browns. They call it browns but as a brown I felt unaccepted and my business unwanted. 4 1/2 * Like the idea of the open concept of bar and restaurant. Tv's positioned thru out the restaurant Arrived at 430 pm for Happy Hour and ordered the Sharables at a happy hour discount price including: Thia Soup, Sushi, Calamari which was prepared perfect. Like the idea of a one page menu. Exceptional service by Michelle. Ordered a take out soup. Would be nice if the sun room was year round, enclosed and warm .

I was really pleased with how nice it was inside. The décor was really comfortable and nice. The staff were inviting and knowledgeable. I had the Margherita Pizza, and it was really fresh and tasty. From a delivery order, I can say some food was good, some was not. Someone in the group ordered Fish 'n Chips, an iconic and seemingly simple dish. What did they get? One small fish tender. I called back to get a refund, or a correction to the issue, and was told someone would return my call... they never did. I'm rating this 2 for bad service. If you don't care about that, the food was good, just don't be surprised if your whole meal doesn't show up.

Lighting is way off, if you can't read the menu, you can't order properly. If the music is cranked to 13, you can't hear the waitress. The echo chatter coming across from other tables sounds like they're killing chickens for the dinner specials. There has to be 30 tv's in this place, sure hockey is self-explanatory but the 15 to 20 minutes of halftime isn't, nothing but dead air and I don't read lips. The FOOD....I could lose weight eating at this place! Very small portions. Perhaps if they put all the ingredients in that the menu states, portions would be better. Taste was a give and take proposition, two fish tacos, one cold, one hot, one crisp, one soggy..... Appeared to be two different cooks made this mess. Service, very slow, but at 730, come-on! I guess old people have become use to waiting, while the young growing boys get fed and watered. Now, here's the big question, Would I come back? I'll give you another chance in a few weeks and see if you lower the music, increase the table lighting, become consistent with your food orders.

Great place, I'm a regular at this point. The service is out standing, if you have a chance (and they're not too busy) start a conversation with the lady serving you, they are a fun and interesting bunch to chat with. They lose a star solely because they just discontinued the Galactic Space Dragon IPA and due to that the beer selection went from barely getting a thumbs up, to a enthusiastic thumbs down, which is sad cause they have a fairly pub like feel. 1919 is a decent beer, but if that's your best offering it's kinda sad. With so many great local breweries in Winnipeg there really is no excuse.

Enjoyed some apps and drinks with a friend on the patio and it was really nice! We didn't have to wait long considering it was full when we got there. Service was good and prompt, but also must consider there was no one inside. These three apps were delicious although the bigger pieces of Cauliflower had a bad taste similar to alcohol, not sure if it was the batter or something else. A bit pricey for small portions but overall was decent.

It’s great to have a licensed enjoyable restaurant with good food in the area where you can watch a game at the bar with friends. Staff are friendly and the location clean. Nice outdoor patio not too noisy with traffic. Food is very good but wish they would add specialty menu items from time to time just to shake it up; that said my go to is the battered fish and chips. Fun location!

I went to Brown's on Main one time for happy hour - you can get a beverage and appy for approx $15 which was ok in my books. So last night we decided to go to Brown's for my son in law's bday - service not that great - was not a packed full house - our waitress (Nancy) didn't even ask how our food was to which I would have told her.... the nachos were overly salty and way too high priced ($17.95) for the amount you get - I asked for the toppings to be heaped in the centre - she brought the toppings in separate containers - the burger and fries priced at $16.45 is a little outrageous - I had the wonton soup and salad, the wonton soup tasted weird. This place is way too high priced for my liking and for the amount of food you get for the high prices. See my attached receipt and photos of the servings.

Everything seems like reasonable prices in comparison to other lounges. When it comes to portion sizes tho, they are very small portions. I spent about $25 on just my food and left hungry. I thought about walking straight to McDonald's after. LOL

Food and service was excellent however the ladies restroom needed some attention. While it looks very upscale, it smelled of strong urine and one of the toilets was either plugged or broken (noticed as it was full to the rim and quite disgusting) The toilet that I used was also broken and had tiny writing on the handle to pull it up and even that didn't work. Everything else was great and our server was awesome as we were having a business meeting and she was very accomodating.

Came in the evening for le Burger week. We were greeted promptly and then seated. There were 6 tables in the entire establishment at the time. We Patiently waited for well over 10 minutes before we were even acknowledg'd by our server Mary. She had passed us numerous times but never said anything. We ordered our food which was delicious but received no napkins or cutlery which we ended up getting it ourselves from the bar. Food was amazing, server and service was terrible.

Never contacted me back about how to collect my prize and never returned any of my messages. UPDATE: After posting this negative review the restaurant's social media person finally contacted me. In the end they admitted to making a mistake and gave me my prize. Looking forward to using the gift card sometime soon.

I was just at Browns tonight and was only there for an hour and thirty minutes on the patio. I was having a great time with my friend until the server asked us to pay the bill because she needed us to leave. Apparently there was a long line of people waiting to get in. We felt very uncomfortable/awkward and as a paying customer, I’ve never been asked to leave a restaurant before. When we left, there was no line.. not a single person waiting. Not impressed.

Very pricey for what you get. They certainly ding you on the extras. $31.00 for burger, Ceasar salad, pop, taxes and tip. $3.75 for a Pop. I don't think I have ever paid that much anywhere for a Pop. $2 Extra to change my fries to a Ceasar salad which my waitress did not inform me of. Wouldn't of minded so much if it didn't come in such a small bowl. For the price, it should of been at least half the plate. Anyways the server was good, attentive. The food came out quickly and it was hot. Based on quantity vs price, I will never go back to another Browns Socialhouse again...

We were at this location for a meeting with a large group. The food was really good and I would definitely eat here again. The service was a bit slow though the wait staff was friendly. For our purposes the venue was too noisy and the layout made it difficult to communicate with each other clearly. I think that as a place to go out with friends casually it is wonderful but as a place to gather for more business related meetings you may want to look elsewhere.

Fantastic customer service!! We ordered through Skip the dishes and when our food arrived half of the order was correct and the other half was food that clearly was from someone else's order. I called the restaurant directly and spoke to the manager who apologized and assured me that he would correct the mistake asap. He replaced our entire order including the half that was already correct, delivered it to us himself and threw a couple of extras in for free. Great service and the food was great too!!

Fantastic place! Visited with my mom and aunt for a birthday celebration. Food was superb and the waitress was a very nice girl. She forgot a few things but everyone is human right?
