REVIEWS OF Salt & Brick IN Kelowna

Interesting menu and friendly staff. Always something new being offered and is located on Bernard, which is great for people watching in the summer. YUM.

Rhem Rodrigue

Love Salt & Brick! Everytime we go, we get something a little different, food and wine(s) are great. Highly recommend this establishment ????

Tyson S

Food has really gone downhill since changing to the salt and brick. Salted brick had some of the best meals, now I probably won't be going back. I don't think there was even an ounce of meat and cheese combined on our charcuterie board. (Pictures from original salt and brick)

Was super excited to eat here for my friends birthday. Tried to make a reservation ahead of time and ask if they could cut and bring out a cake we bring in. They denied a reservation and said it would be first come first serve and that they would be too busy on a Thursday to provide to do a cake service. I’ve worked in restaurants a long time and never have I even had the ability to turn away a birthday party reservation or refused to cut cake. The irony is when we went down to see how busy it was to see if we could get a table, the patio was empty, just like the restaurant. There was so little going on the servers were sitting on stools. We were happy to take our party and walk around to look for another place that would accommodate us. Cheers to Cantina -del- Centro

If you don’t have time to read - this place is simply overrated. Came here on vacation and we were really excited because of how often this place came up on searches for restaurants. The decor is great, and we imagine it’s probably more lively during non-COVID times. We appreciated the barriers between tables. We got seated at the table right at the door - on an empty night that seemed unusual. Every time the chef or the table next to us went out for a smoke we got hit with frigid air. Food left something to be desired... the charcuterie board was too cold so you couldn’t really taste it. Mac and cheese tasted like butter (not in a good way). Our waitress was awesome, but the rest of the staff were unprofessional. The chef visited a lot with the table next to us and seemed really loud and arrogant, while the other staff (on break? Off work?) were being obnoxious at the bar taking Instagram pictures and videos. Didn’t live up to expectations.

Sidney Wahl

my second time going here and it was fantastic. great food and strong drinks

Tee Kay

Food was okay. Definitely seems overpriced for the portions you get. Didn’t live up to the hype.

Branden Green

Phenomenal food! Highly recommend these brussel sprouts.. Cream cheese whip at the bottom makes the whole plate come together. Yes, that is popcorn and it worked great with everything on that plate!

Talid Jalbout

We went two nights in a row because mac and cheese was on the menu. Then we tried the mushroom torte and I was licking the plate. I'm not even ashamed. This place. Do it. But don't sit at the window bar. That's MY seat.

Michelle Todd

The worst restaurant experience I have ever had. The menu is farm to table, which is great, but we had a later evening reservation and they were out of everything. The issue was the communication from the staff was so poor - they took forever to take our order and then when we did order they didn’t have any of the food on the menu. They easily could have crossed these items off the menu or simply told us when we got there. To make matters worst, the host and the manager came over to apologize for all the confusion but didnt seem to know what food they had available as well. We went back and forth for 45 minutes but finally decided to leave (even though we were starving), just to prove a point. Would not go here again.

emeliakapranos

No I wouldn’t go back. Confusing decor and vibes. Great wallpaper though. Our server was great. She was really sweet and knew the menu well. The food did not impress us at all. Hummus was lacking flavour, carrots were no good. The chicken was good but the foie gras was a very disappointing sliver.

Angelina Jacobs

Very eclectic little place on Bernard Avenue. There are many dining options in this area and this is one of my favourites.

Jessie Bicknell

Great food and service. I would suggest the le vieux pin wine

A go to spot for an evening out. Love the share plates, atmosphere, service team & of course the crew cooking the food

Jean Francois Morales

Good food. Lively atmosphere. We tried their trout and lasagna. The service was good. Overall it is lovely spot for drinks and food.

Sean Curran

Enjoyed every bit of it

This restaurant is fantastic. We were thrilled to get a table before last call at 10:30pm. We felt so cared for by our waiter; he let us taste three wines before we chose a bottle. We ordered the Brussel sprouts, carrots, and the burger. One of the best burgers I’ve ever had. Such a creative menu, and the vibe of the restaurant was fantastic.

Tabanda Fipke

Let's get the positives out of the way, the food that we got was excellent and for how busy it was the service was fair and the staff was friendly. That being said we waited over two hours for three out of the five dishes we ordered while the tables around us that arrived after us were on their 6th or 7th dish. It was our first time coming here and it's a shame this was experience we had.

Amber Tucker

Great food and atmosphere! Definitely will go again. Cool idea that the menu changes daily so its always something new

Wayne Kuo

Decent selection of wines and beer, and situate in a great location. Prices are reasonable.

Esli Stopato

Delicious and original food. We'll definitely be back :)

Alfred Ley

Cozy, homey little place located conveniently in the Kelowna downtown. Features a menu of small tasting dishes of which numerous are meant to be ordered and shared. Or savagely devoured by one's own self. The menu changes every night allegedly and when I was there it featured an interesting spread of outside the box dishes that just made me want to try them all. The restaurant also features differing wineries that I believe they said changed monthly. If you just wanted a quick snack with some wine they also had the option of chef-selected meat and cheese platters which one might enjoy with some wine. A pleasant addition to the downtown scene, and one I hope can keep its place in a very competitive location.

Rick Couronne

Excellent share food! Quaint and cozy.

Adam Bouzane

Such creativity in an awesome space. Love S&B for foodie date night!

Last time we were here this was called the salted brick, which was an in-house cured meats, cheese, wine etc. eatery and it was great. We thought that's what we were walking into but the slight name change meant major food philosophy change and we almost left because it wasn't exactly what we were planning on. We could not have been happier that we stayed. We were lucky enough to saddle up in front of the 'kitchen' and watch the guys, including the head chef, put those hot plates into action. We weren't expecting much, but what they were able to make in that tiny space was fantastic. I seriously wonder what they could create with proper space and a more legit cooking station. We ordered three dishes to share, all of which were delicious, but the one that stood out was this sauteed mushroom dish with Kimchi. Memorably good. Being in super close proximity to the kitchen we were able to speak with the chef and he was more than happy to explain the dishes and how he thought them up (its a surprisingly lengthy menu of changed-daily options). Service was great, ambiance was great, drink options were great, and the food was great. The only sad part was watching these guys cook in such a cramped space. They need room to spread their wings! Edit in response: You're absolutely right, it is definitely part of the charm.

We make it a point to eat at Salt & Brick every time we’re in Kelowna, sometimes we’re here multiple times a week. We love how the menu changes daily, the ingredients are always market fresh, local, and uniquely curated for the day. The Chef has also been exceptional in accommodating my wife’s gluten, soy, and dairy allergies. You can’t go wrong with anything on the menu. Truly a gem in Kelowna! Service, food, and vibe are always on point! (Great music choice too!)

Ross Derrick

FIVE STARS for the wonderful team at Salt & Brick! My girlfriend and I made a reservation for a special date night and we showed up to a lively venue so it’s a good thing that we did. We were seated promptly and Emily who was taking care of us that evening greeted us very warmly and made sure we were familiar with the menu and asked if we had any questions. We ordered the Warm Brie, the Beets, Spicy Korean Beef, Asparagus Artichoke and Poached Egg, the Raspberry Cheesecake for dessert and a bottle of Fitzpatrick Pinot noir to wash it all down. Absolutely everything we enjoyed was packed full of flavour and beautifully plated. Emily made us feel extremely special as guests in their restaurant and provided a high level of service, we will be back again soon!

Christina Drescher

Great staff Great food. I love that you can sit here and chat away with the chef making your food. This place is the perfect size. And love the Reno's they have done.

The Chef in Stead

Ate dinner here on June 24th. Was stoked on the peri peri chicken sand-which — until it came.... Two small chicken thighs with the bone still in them, placed ontop of a stale potato bun that was horrendous. Waiter asked we debone the chicken, had fun burning my fingers! Chicken was low quality and horrendously seasoned. It was so bad we had to send the meal back. Next up: Montreal beef tacos.... The tortillas was a store bought flower tortilla and they put yellow frenchies mustard over meat. A meal my 11 year old nephew could have made. One of the worst food experiences I have had, ever.

Kolton Bellamy

Something unique and fun is right here on the water in Kelowna!!

Murissa Shalapata

The service was good and the food was good just nothing wowed me at all. We had 3 share plates and I would rate them all a 7, nothing I would order again. Their famous Brussels sprouts were quite sweet and not my favorite. Also it was super smoky in there from the cooking and all my clothes smelt like brussel sprout smoke ugh. The wine was really good and the service!

Ian Kelly

Fantastic. Our go-to restaurant in Kelowna

Miss S

Poor experience/service. I believe they frequently change up the menu and have heard great things before, so we must have been unlucky. Our table ordered four plates, three of which were okay, far from good, the forth was terrible. I ordered the BBLT, a sandwich that seemed simple and tough to mess up but they sure managed to. The cooks must have been having a bad day, since I didn’t receive my sandwich till 40min after my peers received theirs, which meant over and hour for a sandwich that was barely edible (I’m not picky and never complain but... it was gross). I understand mistakes happen but their lack of compensation, acknowledgment or even a quick hello from the manager makes it very hard to recommend anyone eat there. The two stars goes to the atmosphere and drinks which were actually quite enjoyable.

Ed Walzak

In-house cured meats, this small place offers great shared plates. Friendly staff and good outdoor seating, located right downtown. When eating in, you feel like your in the kitchen, watching the chef do the platings is mesmerizing.

Damian Herman

Truly exceptional tapas and small plates.

Anastasia Lou R

Delicious!! This was the perfect night out in Kelowna. The food is delicious and inventive. Highly recommend!

Juliana Loewen

this is our fav restaurant ever! ever changing menu. amazing.

Natania Swart

Great food. Loved how they allow dogs on the patio! Highly recommend.

Tricia Jackson

The food was great but My girlfriend notified the waitress of my birthday and they charged us for a small brownie dessert? never had restaurant charge for a small birthday dessert/treat

Kurtis

Phenomenal food, amazing service. Our server was very nice, accommodating and willing to answer any questions. Stopped by and checked up on us often. I had the mushrooms on toast and a glass of wine. Best brunch ever! A must stop in Kelowna.

Kayleen Hogan

Quite an absurd experience here... one notable dish was the teeny $21 plate of spaghetti bolognese, only positive to speak of was that it made me nostalgic for college days feat. canned pasta sauce. I’m not one to stop eating mid-bite but the duck tacos made me exercise that level of restraint. Almost $100 bill tonight and left hungry. Brussel sprouts were decent tho.

Ian Fraser

Amazing food and amazing people! We were here in the summer of 2017 and had such a good lunch that we are sad we don't live in Kelowna :) Everything we ate was so good and fresh! We moved here from Europe and we're pretty picky about food and the freshness of food but these guys know what great food is. We'll be back!

Jeremy Kovac

Best share plates in town by far! A must try

brian hall

Mind blowing food, the flavour always blows me away.

James Wilson

Absolutely amazing! Every dish was delicious! I loved the individuality of each dish! We will be back❤

Alyssa Steinhubl

This is an amazing spot! The service is incredible and the food is even better! If you come to Kelowna you have to come here. The concept of shared plates for a great price, is brought home with the delicious flavors! (And they make a new menu every single night I mean come on) my wife and i will definitely be back here!

Nobel Abraham

Excellent meal with Chef James Holmes now at the helm.

andrew harks

This place is pretty Amazing. This is a high end restaurant with very reasonable prices. We are two adults, who aren't light eaters. We had 3 drinks and 4 small plates and we were comfortably full. All that was about $75 CAD, without tip. For the caliber of the food and staff, it is a fabulous deal. You can pay the same or more at lesser quality places. We will definitely go back again. Okay, I just talked about prices and fullness. Let's chat food. The dishes were amazing. Well prepared, creative and delicious. We had the bison stroganoff, the beets, potatoes with elk sausage and brussel sprouts. However, these may not be on the menu when you visit since the meals are all based on what is available locally at that time. That is the menu is always changing and always fresh. Honestly, don't take my word for it, just go. P.S. If you think I'm an pushover as a reviewer, give my other reviews a look.

Ryan Chodola

Get here now. It is amazing. Best brussel sprouts I’ve had in my life.

Ben Carrier

Portions are smaller but absolutely delicious. Service was excellent and very friendly. Thoroughly enjoyed the 3 dishes we had plus dessert.

Simon Hardy-Francis

my favourite restaurant in Kelowna. Smaller place, right downtown on Bernard. Make a reservation on weekends or in the summer. The Chef updates the menu frequently with a focus on local and BC ingredients. Upscale and unique vibe with a bit of edge.

I eat out More than you

An absolutely fabulous restaurant. Everything was great -- from the friendly and helpful service to the excellently prepared and presented food. One of the best meals we've had anywhere in the world.

Matias Serebrinsky

Very eclectic and unique experience. Nightly menus unique to the restaurant and a very good wine menu.

Todd Perry

Nothing to fault except maybe the price... Most expensive cheesecake we've ever had, but still probably one of the best cheesecakes we've ever had too :-) All other food was super yummy too. Especially the brussel sprouts. Update November 5th 2021: Just as yummy as before and still 5 star. Recommend sitting at the "chef's table" :-)

Tilo Voltz

Great food and great service! Their wine list is amazing!

Xave Ruth

food and service exceptional. Brussels sprouts are incredible.. cheeseplate was fantastic. highly recommend.

Matthew Smith

Great sharing plates style restaurant. Tasty food with focus on local ingredients.

Brent Bridgewater

Nice staff, mediocre food. The concept is there but execution is left to be desired. Definitely not worth the hefty high class price tag they’re slapping on their small sharing dishes.

Kiersten Schmidt

Went there over the labor day weekend. Despite being incredibly busy, staff was extremely helpful and courteous. I am used to hostesses in Vancouver questioning why you are wasting their time... Food was excellent. They mostly to smaller share dishes. We tried 4 in total and they were all unique with great flavors and plating. The only thing I wish they can improve on is to have a better beer selection. SB also does brunch and cure their own meet which we had in our charcuterie plate.

Cindy Nagel

I tried 6 dishes or so here, I can whole heartedly recommend this place. All the food was locally sourced, they had great accompanying drinks, friendly servers. It’s small in here so come early to get a table or be prepared to wait. Either way you have to come and fill your belly here!

Bradley Jones

Exceptional food and amazing flavours. The brussel sprouts with popcorn and beer cheese one of their signature dishes is amazing. Arctic Char was done to perfection. Where the location fell was in feeling rushed. We had a 5:30 reservation and 10 minutes to 7 were informed we needed to vacate. I recognize the space is small so they are trying to get customers through - a two hour window would work better since people want to savour the food not just throw it down.

James Szarka

Salt and Brick is a funky small restaurant that brings something different every time we eat here! The wine list is all from local wineries hand picked by the manager herself!!

Connor Cunningham

Always a nice and pleasant surprise and experience because of the chef's wonderful daily creation. Every plate is so well thought-out, prepared and presented. It wakes up all of your senses with the refined paring of the flavours. The staff is knowledgeable, friendly and attentive. It is on our agenda every time we are in Kelowna.

Mike Speckman

For most of our party of 5, this was our first time here, as well as a first for all of us ever having such a disorganized and underwhelming service experience. While the food that did come was absolutely outstanding, a third of our food orders never arrived, and our server all but disappeared for over an hour leaving us with empty waters and beverages. At first giving the benefit of the doubt (hey, mistakes happen), we put in a couple gentle inquiries about the status of our orders, including asking other staff we flagged over, but ultimately we cancelled after waiting nearly two hours with no follow up. There was no offer to put in an order for additional drinks or food, and we left still hungry. This cute little spot is in my neighbourhood and I'd love to come back to try more of the remarkable-looking food offerings, but I'm sorry to say this experience doesn't have me in a rush to do so, nor to suggest others try either. (Might have better luck sitting at the bar?)

Steven Smith

Food was ok, Not great. Waitress was grumpy and had a bad attitude.

Robert Wolf

Wonderful experience. Because the menu is different every day, the food is so fresh and you can really feel the care and effort put into the dishes. The only thing I'd say is a focus point could be improved ventilation / air circulation, it's quite smokey inside the restaurant so your clothes will get the brunt of it when you're finished. My wife also said her eyes started burning at one point because a chef was cutting/cooking onions and it mixed with the smoke. Not a big deal though considering how great this place is.

Stella Yang

The overall cocktail/dining experience here was absolutely divine! The ambiance is superb and they’ve obviously curated their art and wine selection to make for a very modern but comfortable experience. The sharing plates and tapas were scrumptious, I didn’t want them to end!! I don’t normally talk about the bathrooms but I felt like I was walking into a Willy Wonka room with the decorative floral pieces. Great location too across from the beach and in the heart of Kelowna!!

p0l3r123

The whole experience was nothing short of excellent! Spencer was a 5star server, the brussel sprouts are everything they are hyped up to be. They didn't have any tables available, but they were able to seat us at the bar. The food and drinks were fantastic, and the service was great, thank you for dinner!

Marina Craig

Friendly server but slow. Overpriced cocktails and food

Malusi Mabaleka

Portions on some dishes are extremely small for the price. We ordered pulled pork with bun you only get 1 no fries and cost 21$…. I was so shocked and disappointed. It wasn’t like there using high quality ingredients why do people go to restaurants like this I feel like there cheating the customers.

shelley fancy

Service

Anastasia Mae

Good food but overpriced for the portion sizes. The cocktails were also a little strange. Ordered an old fashioned and it was served with crushed bar ice instead of a cube. Food quality was good but you’ll leave here starving.

Michael Southam

One of a kind experience. This is a must try, chef James will take you on an adventure you've never gone before. Menu is created everyday. Can't wait come back!

Ryan Mcphate

Very different experience! The menu changes daily and we chose three dishes to share between two people. Everything was delicious and served warm and fresh.

Adrian Collins

Good cocktails, but the food was extremely disappointing. We love going to tapas restaurants, with the ability to try different and unique dishes. My partner and I shared 5 dishes, and none of them were good. I'm all about interesting flavour combinations, like adding chips to mac and cheese, but it needs to taste good. Will never be returning. It looks like this restaurant was under previous ownership last year, and that restaurant was very successful. Unfortunately, the restaurant and food is not the same anymore.

Eggo less

Jason is kind and knowledgeable. He let me in before opening to grab a few last minute items. Such a great spot! Delicious food!

Kiley B

If you have not been you need to experience this gem. I highly recomend the food the service the team. Badass food.

Alexa Maric

This place needs to stop , popcorn in your Brussel sprouts? Honey no ! , poor quality ingredients, small portions , and a place that's just serving up more hot garbage then a trash collector in July.

Scott Switzer

This place has a nice vibe and a interesting menu. Price is a bit expensive considering the size of the plates.

Nikita Artsimenia

Salt & Brick goes beyond the trendy, instagrammable spot to dine in Kelowna. Supporting local food and wine, Salt & Brick serves up unique, innovative and delicious fare with a side of attentive, friendly & knowledgeable service and some of the regions best wines. Their downtown space is intimate and well designed, with outdoor seating looking towards the beautiful marina on Lake Okanagan.

Colin Lyons

Great spot for a casual tapas style meal. Cozy stylish interior super for sharing dinner/drinks and catching up with friends.

Sophie Lussier

The food was fantastic. We went as a group of 4 and each person picked two dishes for all of us to share. That approach was perfect because I think getting any one dish would have been too much (very rich flavours) and you wouldn’t have been able to try all the different things. Highly recommend for a group who is adventurous with flavours and wanting to share.

Casey Lourens

Cute and trendy stop for a small bite and glass of wine. There’s about eight to ten items on the menu only which apparently changes all the time. The pork belly being one of the more filling dishes was cooked sub-par. The dish lacked flavour, it was flat and gummy as the skin needed at least another minute on high heat for that crispy sear. The fried egg however was cooked perfectly along with the hash and brown beans. I would still give it another try

Eric Michalski

This place had an interesting assortment on their tapas style menu. The spaghetti bolognese with pepperoncini was so tasty! We also tried the italian sausage and the smash burger which were yummy as well! Reasonably priced, and a variety to choose from based on whatever your flavor is that day.

Dan_Strive 4 Wellness

We absolutely love Salted Brick! The atmosphere, food, service, and hospitality is impeccable. Jodi also went above and beyond hooking me up with some red wine figs to send to my father for his birthday. (As in she gave me the last of what they had) Red wine figs paired with their blue cheese is my absolute fav!!! I highly recommend Salted Brick and encourage you to bring your friends and family, you will not be disappointed.

Pam Mackenzie

Wonderful atmosphere, great food. Loved the stuffed olives.

A Haeusler

Fantastic hidden gem of Kelowna! Totally new and unique menu changing every night. Hands down one of the best dining experiences Kelowna has to offer. Professional chef, amazing staff... Highly recommend! 5/5

Don Larsen

The food was very overpriced and mediocre. We had the half and half board which was skimpy, the peaches were okay but nothing to rave about and the prosciutto on top was way overcooked and the overall food lacked a lot of flavour. Extremely overrated place that I would not recommend to anyone personally. Also the drinks are crazy overpriced as well.

Stephane Licina

Wide selection of wines and some beers. Lots of shareable items. I thought it was an interesting take on items, like the "mac & cheese" that had Doritos on it, was actually good tasting. Good for 2 or more people so you can try lots of items.

Mike Panian

Must try brussel sprouts. beautiful atmosphere

Claire Hanna

Great food and service. Loved the alberta ribs (outstanding) Would definitely return.

Neil H

Spectacular plates for sharing. Very descriptive and creative menu (in a good way)!! Great date night to share a bottle of wine and a few dishes.

JESSICA

Reservations are a must. Read the sign - it says to wait outside and they will great you. We ordered 4 plates all were awesome and great for sharing. Some real I unique flavors and combinations. The menu changes daily but I'd try these again: Brussel sprouts Pork belly Fingerling potatoes Mac and cheese

Hannah S

Your team rocked it, thanks for making our night. Highly recommend.

Marc Gruber

These guys take it to another level every time we visit. Exceptional food and exceptional service. This is our first choice everytime we have friends in town and they are never disappointed.

Laury Spohr

Really tasty food, smaller portions with the encouragement of everyone sharing, great place to catch up with family and friends over food and wine. Merry christmas all!

Big Dingo

Unique restaurant with some quirky dishes. Excellent, standard cocktails. Great place to grab a drink and share tapas with friends.

Bryan Rubarth

We have eaten at the Salt & Brick before, however it was previously called ‘The Salted Brick’ and had an entirely different concept. The previous restaurant was a Kelowna favourite and we were excited to visit again. This recent experience was cause for concern. A young couple sat down next to us, looked over the menu.. and left without speaking to or looking at anyone, we wished we had followed them. We ordered a few items off of the menu, despite the odd and confusing combinations. The server assured us that all meals and ingredients were local, in season and fresh. (She failed to mention they were locally sourced from the neighbourhood dollar store) Once our meals arrived, we were shocked to have ACTUALLY been served Doritos, popcorn, and jarred ginger. The Brussels sprouts were a bitter, over sweet pile of roasted garbage over “beer” cheese (whatever the heck that is, it’s not Guinness cheese if that’s what you were thinking) the meal was garnished with dill (not Gouda) popcorn. The ‘Mac and Cheese’ was a plate of package tortilla topped with, you guessed it.. DORITOS! I won’t go into anymore detail. We were pleased to have been served the food on chipped china, it definitely added a certain ‘riskay vibe’ to the meal. We wondered if it was because China is meant to be hand washed rather than machine washed? By the end of the meal we were tickled pink at having paid 3* prices on a .75* meal. Luckily our hotel was less than 10 minutes away because the smell of our breathe and the smell coming from our bum holes were hard to tell apart. Cute and trendy attempt at a niche, unfortunate that it’s not executed as so.

Amin Aghaee

This is a fun place to have "tapas like" food, very fresh, good service but not inexpensive.

Kayla Neufeld

Nice atmosphere and an open kitchen. We got the charcuterie board and it was amazing. We also got the sushi but that was just okay, the rice wasn't done very well fit sushi.

Edmond Kan

Tasty food for carnivores... As mentioned they do herbivore eats too but this carnivore had tunnel vision of all the meaty bites.

Ray Tyers

Its expensive but so tasty its so worth it I can't get enough

Anthony Baartman

A Kelowna classic now under new ownership. Wonderful small plates and extensive wine list!

Dom Koning

We’re 5 of us having a reservation at 8pm but been served late. Then our other order didn’t came in right away. Food was not that great they just okay. I think kitchen staff was on rush to go home instead of prioritizing our order. The sprout burnt. In fairness the server she’s very nice.

Lucía Cisilotto

Wow. Wow. Great food in a fantastic location. The wine list was comprehensive without being too hipster and they had a few decent ales. Local food local wine. Wow

Michael Peters

Great food and wine! Brunch on Sunday and dinner served everyday, patio, cool room. Great staff! Amazing locally sourced charcuterie and cheese plates-amazing! Comfortable seating! Great location! Love the floral theme.

David Caroni

The bar and atmosphere is beautiful. Quite different then to other bars in comparison on Bernard...that being said.. the service is absolute trash. Arriving at 9:30pm and hearing multiple staff being like "shut it down". Absolutely terrible and would not recommend. I believe the manager was in a floral dress and is extremely rude. They were busy taking shots behind the bar so must be fun to work here versus being a customer. ????????‍♀️

Impact Events

The food was very underwhelming... to say the least. All the dishes we ordered were very small and seemed thrown together with no flavor. Quality of ingredients was also astonishingly low. The waiter completely understood and we left disappointed and still hungry.

Amy Jo Lawley

This review is for Salt & Brick's catering, not the restaurant. Definite 5 star catering for our event. I must say that James Addington made our entire experience fantastic. James truly knows how to deliver an A class event while letting you relax. We followed James' recommendations and left everything in his very capable hands and our expectations were beyond surpassed. Highly recommend Salt & Brick and James Addington!

Timothy Leung

We loved their uniqueness very much!!! Their creations were not only so unique but also delicious! Would love to go back next time we visit Kelowna again! Make a reso before dine in!!!

Chris Caulfield

Dinner

Damir Wallener

Very mediocre. All the food is locally sourced which is great. Small shareable dishes so we ordered 5 to share. Not a good sign that 4 of the 5 were very mediocre, and not worth the price. The problem is they do not use enough of the sauces, seasoning, etc. Of the ingredients listed for each meal you can taste only half. Their chicken dish was really good though.

Ashley Cunningham

I highly recommend. An unexpected treat with remarkable food pairings and combinations.

Matthew Spohr

Great service, wonderful good, great local wine list. We've enjoyed every time we've been there.

Aidan O

The best caesar I've ever had. The server said they get their worcesterschire from a local spot nearby. Would recommend for sure. They also have really cute fireplace heaters. Well decorated

Nathan Davis

We found the service to be quite slow and our waitress had forgotten to place our orders in resulting in almost a 45 minute wait before we received our first bites. The stuffed mushrooms and fried smelt we ordered were lackluster in flavour despite the fact that our neighbours had recommended those dishes to us that they had previously ordered. Disregarding the food and service, the atmosphere was quite nice - a small, stylish and cozy dining area with an open concept kitchen and high ceilings. I would've given them a lower rating but our waitress had surprised us by comping one of our items off our bill as an apology for the tardiness, so that was nice.

Sara T

What I didn't like about this place, was their limited menu. I had too few options to choose. But the food was tasty.

Doug Cone

Poutine is unexpected, but if you don't expect to taste potatoes it's very good.must try tator tots with truffle mayo. Very good decor and environment. The price is a little high to accommodate the location I guess. The customer service is not the best. I was standing at the door for 5mins until someone decided to talk to us.

Rich Tason

Went for a bachelorette dinner. Leanne was excellent and took very good care of us. Cocktails are not their forte. Wine list is good. Food, most of it is excellent but a couple things were a miss (cauliflower, charcuterie, brussel sprouts). However they took the feedback well and did not allow us to pay for things we did not enjoy. Kudos to them for that. Top notch customer service. That goes a long way. I'll come back. Which is good :)

Doug Atkinson

I've loved this place since it opened as salted brick. Been here probably 25 times through the years. The best meal of my life was at this restaurant. The meat and cheese trays are next level and they are always worth the money. The daily change of menu can offer up some dishes that dont quite work as well as others, but it's worth it considering how creative and daring the ingredients are. I'd recommend coming during off hours (tues-thurs) as there is faster and more accurate service. It's a great date spot and honestly not much more expensive than earl's or cactus for foot network competition style/quality meals. This place is tight.

carla ngan

outside the thoughtful amazing food and drinks. the staff create a lively fun vibe and dining experience you'll never want to leave.

Maria Cihlar

Excellent range of appetizers sourced from local ingredients. A great selection of local wines expertly curated. Staff was very helpful and friendly.

Trev ski

Pros and cons to the fresh menu are that those with food restrictions may be challenged to find a lot of choices that work. Food quality is good- muddles were great, Mac and cheese with Spivey cheetos was a pleasant surprise.

Nikki Hunter

After originally giving this place 5 stars, I sadly have to change my rating to 2 stars based on my experience today. Upon arrival we were offered a table and as we were taking our seats, another server came up and told us we would have to come back as "they were too busy to serve us". Being in the industry for 7 years I understand what it's like to be busy, but turning people away when you have empty seats is just horrible customer service. The only reason I'm giving 2 stars is because the food is incredible and worth every penny. I truly hope the service here changes as I wanted to put this place on my favourites list.

Rafael Souza Lopes

I just want to let everyone know that this bar is just for white people. When I tried to enter the bar to get a drink, a male employee, who refused to give his name and his position, told me that they just accept people who make reservations. I asked him to help me through the process to be on the waiting list. He refused, telling me that he can't help and asked me to leave. I waited for about an hour and I saw people coming in and getting seated. I tried to enter again just to make sure I understood how the bar operates. I was ignored and then asked to leave by one of the managers and one guy from the kitchen who refused to introduce himself to me. He pretended to call someone and at the same time was asking me to leave.

David Evans

Had Salt & Brick cater an event for us and 50 friends. Chef James nailed it! We had some dietary requests that didn’t slow him in the least; you wouldn’t have even know. Casey was on-sight to handle anything and everything. They also provided first class staff. The food was spectacular, as it is in the restaurant. You can’t ask for better service. They just set the bar the highest Kelowna has seen.

Callum Dornan

Very good experience. Healthy and local food. Nice staff. Highly recommended:)

Elaine Smith

This place is such a hidden gem and a must see if visiting Kelowna! Super unique and clever menu items, I tried the wings! Sweetest and hottest wings of my life!

Joshua Goupil

Amazing food and service! We will definitely be back soon!

Wow! Stop what you're doing and get to the salted brick now! What a great little spot! Hubby and I stopped in, wanted to try something local and delicious and couldn't have asked for a better meal and the service was incredible. I had the roasted veg salad and hubs had the pickled brisket sandwich with the macaroni salad. You can taste the amount of effort and heart that is put into each bite. Can't wait for our next visit! Great local brews and wines as well.

James O'Brien

I was pleasantly surprised by the cozy atmosphere of the Salted Brick and the very warm and personal service. We also enjoyed selecting items from their wide selection for our charcuterie boards. Quite a neighborhood gem!

Nicole Martinez

Always a nice and pleasant surprise and experience because of the chef's wonderful daily creation. Every plate is so well thought-out, prepared and presented. It wakes up all of your senses with the refined paring of the flavours. The staff is knowledgeable, friendly and attentive. It is on our agenda every time we are in Kelowna.

Chloe Krolak

Always a good time. From the food and wine to the staff and atmosphere, awesome.

Clint Hastings

Sit at the bar and watch the chefs. They take pride in their work. Bring back the devilled eggs please !!

Graham Shonfield

Wow, exceptional food and service. Pricey but worth it. This is a tapas place and the menu changes every day.

C “A-Kai” Massey

We had a fantastic time at Salt & Brick. The food was AMAZING - very unique dishes and combinations. Everything we tried was excellent, especially the brussel sprouts and the mac & cheese. We got a few margaritas which were also great. We will definitely be going back next time we're in Kelowna.

Marc Jakobs

The food was great! We ate there 3 times once we discovered it. I highly recommend it.

Ethan Longinotti

Unbelievable service and craftsmanship by the chefs and staff at Salt and Brick. The menu items we had including the Brussels Sprouts, Mac and Cheese, and Pulled Pork Tacos were outstanding. Very delicious and eccentric options if you are adventurous and want to try something new.

Richard Bugera

This could be one of the biggest secrets in Kelowna! Outstanding location just off the water and by far one of the best restaurants I have ever been to in my life. The food and amazing service are nothing short of 5*****. These guys take fresh ingredients to a whole new level. If you like a nice cold beer I highly suggest the "Bad Tattoo" you will be pleasantly surprised. If your in Kelowna or the surrounding areas this place is a must!

Peter Learn

Service and wine were top notch. Will definitely be back.

colleen

Great food and a wonderful, vibrant patio right in the busy part of town which was great To enjoy! We ordered the burssel sprouts, mtl smoked meat, and a pasta. The mtl smoked meat was absolutely delicious and packed big time flavour! I also quite enjoyed the pasta and the sprouts were good too. Overall really delicious food and I would come back for more mtl meat!

Jane .Overholt

One of Kelowna’s best eateries! Great food good atmosphere would definitely a spot to check out! Menu has a lot of variety and options - good cocktail list, nice interior ! Would recommend

Aanand Mehta

The menu was very creative and delicious, and the local produce really shone through. Street side patio was great for people watching while we enjoyed our food and wine!

Gabrielle Suttis

The Brussel sprouts with marinated grapes were amazing.

Tara-Lynn Fournier

Food was fine but left disappointed for what we paid.

Claudia Duffield

Great spot with interesting menu items. Service was great, attentive but not over bearing.

Christopher C

Great at accomadating allergies, and great balance of flavours in each dish.

Jessica Heck

Have ate at Salt & Brick twice in the last six months. The food is delicious, atmosphere is intimate and the servers are fun. Food is meant to share and I wish I’d taken photos of everything I’ve had (half&half, Brussels sprouts, prawns, potato salad and more!) it’s always presented beautifully. The reason I give four and not five stars is the pricing inconsistency across dishes. Would definitely eat here again! If you get the charcuterie board ask for extra bread! :)

Jennifer Xie

Absolutely bomb as usual. Never disappointed here.

Dave McCann

Good food from scratch. Great cheese, nice rabbit terrine.

Karli Necula

Salt & Brick has a lovely local wine list. All amazing. The octopus was soooooo tender and flavorful! The spicy muscles however were cold and had no spice whatsoever. The overall quality was amazing!

Destiny Steil-Tran

Definitely a 5 for this place. Excellent service, excellent food. Drop by and try it out. UPDATE. I did drop back this week. Again, excellent food and service. Well done chef.

Cassandra Anderton

Overall Food: 3 Service: 3 Ambiance: 3 Value: 3 Recommend or Repeat: N

Jordan Reid

Wanna be fancy and edgy, but actually really average and pretentious. The menu tries to be playful and creative, but the cooking and prep were pretty average to say the least (think undercooked Brussels sprouts with a somewhat tasteless creamy sauce and random salty popcorn). Several people told us we have to go, we did, we won’t go back. Too many other delicious places around Kelowna where you will get both great service, not have to wait an hour and actually have good value for your money…

Aidan K

One of the best chicken sandwhiches I've ever had. Completely delicious. Great staff, and reasonably priced.

Marty Irwin

Soo good, full of flavour and crazy combinations. If you are a foodie. stop by here. Well priced anc super worth it. Good wines.

Cliff Morham

Went to salt and brick for the first time last night, it was incredible the creativity and passion that chef James Holmes brings to each dish is astounding. From Brussel sprouts with pickled grapes and popcorn, to apple stuffed with blue cheese and covered with procsutio, don’t forget the best Mac and cheese you’ll ever have covered in cheetos. Salt and Brick is essential to visit in Kelowna.

Celeste Carruthers

We had a great experience at this restaurant, tight space to sit, little to no privacy but the food and service were excellent.

Alex Boland

An over hyped place with really bad super expensive food. Although the farm to table concept is nice, it seems like their chef doesn’t put any efforts into working the ingredients and even when he or she does, it comes out as pretentious hipster food with no taste whatsoever. $13 or $14 for 4 small radishes and some greenery with no dressing at all. It seemed like they just bought it from the farmer’s market and seared it in a pan with nothing to it. Potatoes with plums and thick pan fried salami? The prawn ceviche was decent but nothing special. The mushroom risotto was tasteless again. Decent service. Feel sorry for the staff. PS! Based on the owner's response. Just to be clear, no one here is comparing you to Ten Foot Henry. I brought that name up because you are pulling a similar concept but not coming even close to the quality and the value that places provides. I am really sorry for the staff because your servers are put in the position to sell tasteless pretentious food. Unless they really believe it tastes good, which makes me feel even more sorry for them .

Pete Wheeler

The restaurant is average in my opinion. They don’t have a lot of options if your vegetarian, one of the options was snap pees (a big plate of snap pees) nothing special. They had Mac and cheese but they were out the night we went. Not sure I would go back.

Melissa R

Amazing service and incredible food! We let our server choose our meals as well as our wine and we weren't disappointed. Everything went together perfectly! Our server Josh picked delicious dishes. We will highly recommend Salted Brick to everyone we know!

Alena Taylor

The food was delicious, the drinks were great, a little on the expensive side but 10/10 recommend. Will be back everytime I come to Kelowna.

Mark Dyck

Absolutely beautiful interior and the location is perfect. The style of dining is unique and definitely a cool place to eat in Kelowna. Personally, I had the roasted chicken with gravy and it was the best dish I'd had in a while. Something unique and fun is right here on the water in Kelowna!!

Marco Oropeza

Overpriced. Some dishes are good, but still too expensive to what is served. Some are not balanced and complex to a family sharing style. Service is very good though.

Marwa El Charif

Best food experience in downtown Kelowna

Marika Avolio

Wow! Worst service I’ve experienced in a very long time. From the hostess (especially her!) to the only person working the kitchen we interacted with, everyone was rude and unwelcoming. Maybe it was because arrived 15’ before 5pm -when dinner service starts, but either way, we felt really uncomfortable with the way we were treated. After spending 5 mins there, we decided to leave before even ordering food. Now they are replying saying it was a misunderstanding. It was just bad service.

Gee

Amazing!!! Every dish was so delicious!!! We enjoyed every bite. Cannot recommend this place enough. We had the Mac and cheese, Brussel sprouts, beef and pork dishes and it was perfection!! Thank you!

Leo Bartels

Very good food quality. The chef changes the menu frequently so I will go again. Definitely fine dining.

Julia Mulberry

Good location with disappointing food. I don't expect each dish to be exceptional when having tapas, but we tried 4 of the dishes (mac and cheese, asparagus hash, scallops, and and the elk/yam waffle cone), and none of them were great. The mac and cheese, which includes Doritos, popcorn, and cheese-whiz, wouldn't have been worth it at any price, let alone $17. The asparagus hash was so salty it was hard to get through. The scallops and elk/yam dishes were okay, but not something I would order again. For Salt & Brick, it seems like having a cool menu and instagram-ready food is the #1 priority. I don't have an issue with restaurants that try "risqué" food combinations, but the dishes need to actually taste good.

Colleen Roberts

Exceptional food at chain restaurant prices. Maybe the only restaurant in Kelowna actually worth travelling for. The popcorn grits pizza is supergalactic. Elk salami waffle...close your eyes and say that slowly a couple of times....yeah, you want this.

Mark Masterson

Had breakfast here on a Saturday with one other. The food came very quickly, tasted incredible, and was easily the best culinary experience of my four day stay in Kelowna. Do yourself a favor and dine here if you can!

Great restaurant! A must for anyone visiting Kelowna. The service is friendly and attentive. The brussel sprouts are to die for.

Chris Neufeld

This place is amazing. The food is second to none. We went through over half the menu in one night. It’s a ever changing menu so it is always fresh. Chef James is one of the best chefs I have have the privilege of eating there food. It was mind blowing good. He sat there for a good half hour talking about food and giving us samples of what was going on the menu the next day. He is a super chill guy and is an amazing chef. I highly recommend this place. You will be blown away.

Michael Melwicks

The charcuterie was amazing. The people were very friendly. Five stars for a wonderful experience!

walia97xx

I’d rate it higher if I had a chance to try the food. Booked a reservation for my wife and I, showed up and within ten minutes we had left. We sat down and started looking at the menu, within thirty seconds an employee came out of the kitchen with a giant fillet knife to pass to a customer wanting to saber a bottle of champagne on the patio. Both were totally hammered. Extremely unimpressed and it was a total waste of time. The reviews were good, but is this a rave bar? Or a decent restaurant? Waste your money elsewhere.

Petrina Taylor

Wonderful wait staff and cozy interior (thanks for the great service, Tory!). A little pricey and I don’t know if the 2hr wait was worth this culinary experience. Very inventive dishes (some stood out more than others) that boils down to each dish offering the basics: salt, fat, acid and heat, and executed well I encourage sharing plates. It’s cool that’s there’s a rotating menu so pop on in to try something new (maybe make a reservation - they ended up turning away a bunch of groups while we were waiting)

Tenille Jocelyn

Thoroughly enjoyed brunch with my wife and daughter. Excellent quality, great presentation, great flavours all at an unbeatable price. Can't wait to go back.

Mar Chris

We loved the concept that they change up their menu weekly and that they keep their dishes local. The flavour hit the nail on the head to the point that we would have ordered every dish on the menu if we could. Highly recommend their staple Mac n cheese.

Kristen Garcia

AMAZING food, unique atmosphere and great staff! We loved the staff recommendations and had the best time taking in each plate as it came.

Karl Kwong

Chef with some serious chops! Such cool, a bit off the wall food, with killer flavors!!

Renovate Kelowna

Food was yummy and the atmosphere was warm and inviting! Portions a bit small ... staff excellent!

Cory Giesbrecht

Delicious!

egon koonings

The Brussels sprouts!!! So dang good! Ask the chef to surprise you and you won't be disappointed.

Max S.

Woaw!!! Flavour! Flavour! and more Flavor... You must try the lamb carpaccio... so delicious we also really enjoy the brussel sprout with dill popcorn

Sharon Savage

Chantel was absolutely amazing. The service and table manner was above and beyond. Went out of her way, extremely knowledgeable and friendly. Just 20/10. This is the second time I’ve had her take care of me and I will gladly come back just because of her. Side note… I don’t know this beauty before coming to your establishment but I wish I did. Just lovely and a fantastic team member to have a part of your business.

James Chung

I decided to check this spot because the food was supposed to be good and wanted to give it a try. The service was awful, rude and unwelcoming. As soon as we walked the door, the staff was very rude and made sure to let us know that they didn’t want us there. The place was COMPLETELY empty (when I say empty, it’s literally not a single person). They were having excuses. In my opinion, if your establishment is empty and you are saying 6 “BUTS” in a row when you are trying to have dinner, they don’t want you there. It was just too complicated for a nice night out. The whole staff had one problem after the other, and we weren’t in the mood to handle all their issues and negative energy. This was by far the worst experience we had in Kelowna, we don’t recommend it. Everything about this place is average, which is a huge downer because there are tons of really cool spots around to support. I guess they don’t really care, they forgot to realize that they are in the hospitality biz as well, we ended up leaving as we didn’t feel comfortable (rude staff handling food is never a good idea in my experience).

Chett Chaisson

Great food with great customer service

Michael Riordon

Excellent wine selection. Great atmosphere. Friendly staff.

Kris Saccary

Delicious wine, unique vibe! Loves it

Erik Hamar

Small menu that never disappoints. The in-house cured meats are fantastic, but they can do vegetarian too.

Craig Thompson

Good but overrated… expensive and just alright. Go to Micro.

Haida G

The most delicious food ever!!! So hearty and rich in flavour!

Amy Noel

This is my favorite restaurant in Kelowna at the moment. It's an intimate place that serves a unique menu each season day consisting of a dozen items intended to be shared. Chef is right behind you in an open kitchen and it feels as though he is making his creations just for you. And the food is superb. For example tonight we began with the first three items on the menu: a plate of roasted asparagus piled artistically over one slow roasted egg that we used as a sauce,. Then a bowl of wild mushrooms covered with a butter sauce and a waffle ice cream cone filled to overflowing with yam, ham, and a roux based gravy. OMG. Then we added some meatballs and a plate of bacon with real maple syrup as a sauce. For dessert! There place serves a nice selection of wine and a modest selection of nice beer. Great staff and we lived talking with Chef about the food.

Courtney Koga

Great food and atmosphere. Sharing plates at reasonable prices.

Food is quite good! Flavours are rich and pricing is fair, though, not cheap. Service on the other hand is relatively absent. Come here with realistic expectations and you’ll be pleased

Good place, very good food provided by locals, nice staff, fair price. Very good experience :)

A lot of times you read reviews and then your experience ends up a little meh. This was not one of those times. Very much enjoyed my meal and hope to return soon menu changes frequently but was amazing

Stacie Thibert

Went to this place not really knowing what to expect and was pleasantly surprised. Delicious food from Chef Jack and wonderful service! Must try when visiting Kelowna.

Sarah Bauer

Very unique dining experience. Like tapas, but not Spanish. Very talented chef changes the menu daily. Wait staff exceptional. Celiac safe.

Amazing! Food, service, prices, atmosphere. I always take visiting friends and family here and they love it! Farm to table, quaint and humble staff, local wines and brews, charcuterie to die for... YUM!

Jim Brown

Just had the 16 hour roasted brisket sandwich, wow. Probably the best sandwich I have ever had. The brisket fell apart in your mouth, the fat melts in your mouth. So delicious. I'll be going back tomorrow to try the smoked chicken and brie sandwitch

D R

Yummy tapas. The presentation was great!

Youssef Gaha

I love this place. The meats are incredible and everything I've tried has been perfect. I love his breakfasts. The drink selection is fantastic. The ambiance is my favorite, the patio very nice. The servers are chill but very competent. The chef truely knows his stuff. This is among my Okanagan favorites for sure. I've visited many times and will many more.

Michelle Stewart

Great food. Cool vibe. Awesome service and continual positive reviews from the people I ask.

Shaun McAssey

Staff rude and unfriendly. Tried to engage the owner/chef a bit as I saw the restaurant on food network. He was very rude arrogant and not friendly at all. A simple smile and comment from him could have made the experience so much different. Was over charged on wine, ordered a small charged for a large $15 for a glass of blended white. When I enquired with the waiter he said “oh well”. The dish we ordered was good but based on the service and staff I would not return. Prices high, servings very small.

derrick carnie

Good location, but worst Margarita I ever had..

Mateen Hessami

I have been to this restaurant a few times and I have really enjoyed it until last night when I saw one of their main male servers downtown outside of Salt & Brick spit on a group of ladies. I am very unimpressed especially coming out of a pandemic. I will not be coming back. He was tall and blond.

Brad Van De Walle

Great little place for a snack downtown. The Ploughmans Lunch was really neat. Every bite was unique. Can't wait to go back

Gerry Yan

Great food great atmosphere. Love the Reno , def brought this place up a few notches.

Stephen

Jay Parry

Never ever had a bad meal here. Staff are great. This is a must try place downtown Kelowna

Samantha Grace

Great menu. Excellent service.

Sharryn Haberfield

Stopped here for Sunday brunch and had a tantalizing eggs benedict. The chef and staff were enthusiastic about helping with dietary restrictions. Great food and an outstanding experience.

Tom Sabin

Amazing place, amazing people (staff) and the absolutely most amazing food! Emeleigh (General Manager) and her team have always gone above and beyond our needs, and James’ creative and decadent outlook in the kitchen make Salt n Brick our go to every night out. Cannot day enough good things about this place, but am so glad it’s in Kelowna! Casey and crew - Thank YOU!

Our server was very sweet but I was very disappointed the staff didn't wear masks at all, even inside. The food was alright. It felt like when you have leftovers and piece meal dishes together. Not too concerned if berry jam goes with spicy salami and horseradish or not... its there so you use it. Wouldn't return or recommend.

Ketan Vohora

If there's one word to describe the brisket sandwich, it is: relentless. If you're the kind of person who enjoys a relentless assault on your meat buds (which are taste buds but only for meat) then this sandwich is for you. If you're the type of person who likes a little salt on their cookie, a little butter on their corn, a little mayonnaise in their orange juice - in other words, balance - maybe skip it.

Janelle Inglis

The portions were bigger than I thought they'd be and the food was delicious. The vibe in here is great and the wait staff are attentive and friendly.

C F

Very good food and fun atmosphere. Just being able to watch the chefs in the open kitchen was a great time. Menu changes almost daily, all share plates.

Kyle Lavoie

High fives to this team for their creative menu, the vibe of the room and great wine selection. Feel like I don't put them on my list enough to visit and if you are looking for not cookie cutter dishes then this is the place in Downtown Kelowna to put on your dining list. Highly recommend.

Noah Fuhrmann

Great food and great service, we will be back!

Vicky Garcia

Amazing food, great service, and super chill vibes. Every time we go in Chef blows our taste buds away! Our favourite for special occasions!

Eata Mitchuk

Though the service and food is always exceptional the Salt and Brick, I wanted to extend a special thank you to the team who accommodated our group of 14 the other weekend. It was a last minuet request and Chef James and our server Tori handled our party with the best care and grace! Thank you for making us feel welcomed and at home in your restaurant. You're the best!

Bobby Clarke

Wonderful food, great variety and courteous staff. Highly recommend the Digby Scallops, they made my wife cry. Update: With the rotating menu, we had the opportunity to try even more original dishes on our second visit including duck fat grilled cheese, some amazing quesadilla, and a wonderfully cooked pork chop.

Small, quaint, friendly staff, delicious meat and cheese with a decent selection of craft beer.

Tamra Stretch

Great place to grab a beer and charcuterie. Good beer selection but most of it is in bottles.

Markus Haak

Interesting idea, but because of the style of food service this is a total nightmare for anyone with specific dietary needs. Basically in a group you each order to share, each dish comes one at a time. Me, as a vegetarian, had to wait through 3 plates to eat. If you can eat anything and everything it is a very cool concept. Small portions with inflated prices, but the food was good and the atmosphere was a neat experience.

Dave Cao

Great shareable plates. Good originality ????

Logan Gebbink

Top notch food. Menu changes daily as ingredients come in. Share plates. Small spot and popular so make a reso or expect to wait an hour or more.

Jessica Ryan

Went here last year and it was superb! This year it was a bit disappointing. Service did not really made us feel welcome and ignored us several times. I hope this was just a hickup. Food was amazing. The Halloumi killed me and the Brussels Sprouts were just delicious. However, since service is important I can this time only give 3 stars.

Jaime Montana

Overall is good setting

Daniel Birchard

Excellent menu, menu is changing daily which can cause some confusion. However Food is always Delicious no matter the menu! They don’t have any oysters (usually)which can be a let down. But when we told them they kindly recommended us to the oyster bar and grill which was walking distance away. Excellent staff, excellent food!

Dena Harvey

Our party was a group of 40 then a group of 14 two hours later (because so many wanted to come after seeing the menu!)...lunch was served family style...it was fabulous with a unique menu that was designed for our luncheon. The food was amazing and the price very reasonable! They were also able to offer a price that included the lunch, coffee or tea, gratuity and tax which is simple for all. Casey was very accommodating. We will definitely return. Lovely to have such a gem in Kelowna.

Sean Dawson

Atmosphere is very nice. Great success. Some of the food over priced - 2 small tacos for $17. Not much success. Other dishes were quite high as well. All in all, for +$100 for 2 people and a few small light dishes and 1 bottle, we would rather go elsewhere for food and service. Will try other restaurants in area out when we come back. Won’t be coming back here for the time being. Service great! Value, not so much...

Jennifer Armstrong

Wonderful restaurant. Went here for my girlfriends and I two year anniversary & it was fantastic. Staff was great & food was amazing. Loved the atmosphere.

Mike Chanak

Really fun and trendy little place. Good for drinks (especially wine) and appetizers. Had a good experience although they were sold out of two of the dishes I wanted to try. I got the duck and it wasn't good at all so I traded with my husband for his yam and elk dish which was delicious.

S G

The best paella I've been had! Everyone was extremely accommodating! The decor was beautiful and the food and drinks equally so! I will definitely be back!

Lauren Sabaziotis

My husband and I loved the food and atmosphere at Salt & Brick. We ordered so many different items to share, and none disappointed; all the food was fantastic! We will be coming back again soon.

Julie Boisvenue

Amazing food and experience ! The food was very good I would go back anytime and the chef was very inspiring ! The restaurant open kitchen concept is great and it’s a very welcoming vibe !

5Madsen AV

Awesome food and great service! Highly recommend.

Braedy Shaw

Hard to get reservations, now we know why! Delicious small plates and excellent service.

Caylin Boychuk

Our server Sharryn was incredibly rude. We saw her snap at several other people in addition to us. We were very excited to try this place, but because of her service, we’ll never come back or recommend to anyone. The food also took a long time (we waited 40 minutes) even though we got there just after it opened, and is extremely overpriced.

Colin Jung

Absolutely loved it! Such amazing and uniquely created culinary dishes that mix a wide range of flavours together building on freshness and depth. Chef James creates the menu daily from what's available seasonally. The wagyu beef steak was exceptional, paired with root and seasonal vegetables from the Okanagan. Our brussel sprouts were served over a house made cheese with grapes and chive popcorn! Our sinful choices were both spins offs of classic kids dishes - tatertotes with truffle oil and parmesan - yum! The finishing twist a smores tarte! We will be back, Chef James works creative magic in a small well thought out made on demand kitchen. We sat at the bar and watched each freshly made dish make its way out to eagerly waiting guests. Well done!

Went back here a few months later when we were in Kelowna again after having had such a great experience the first time. We were extremely disappointed with the lack of flavour in ALL six dishes we ordered off the menu. Everything was extremely plain and mediocre. They seem to be really riding off their great reputation right now. Disappointing visit that we were very excited about.

Jillian Sholtz

Honestly, it appears great but in the end most people could actually make the food themselves with a decent online recipe. The drink selection is poor. Sorry. $21 for a piece of rib. Right...

Bera C.Y.C

Amazing Food. Amazing atmosphere. Always enjoy my time here.

Yasamanl

My overall experience was not as I expected. We ordered foods based on GoogleMaps search, as the server was in a rush and could not recommend us. She made us uncomfortable with being in a rush, and we felt a bit unwelcomed. The food was exciting and fresh; I liked the quesadilla the most. Cocktails were great as well. The food was pricey overall, especially compared to the portion and limited service we received.

anastasia powell

Amazing food and fantastic service. Was blown away by the Mac and cheese and the strange combinations were a perfect match in the carrots with chocolate. Inventive and fun.

Ricardo Clarke

Yummy tapas on the patio. Excellent server from Melbourne, Aus!

We stopped in KELOWNA for the night and my wife follows their chef on Instagram so since we happened to be walking by she wanted to go in. I’m so glad we did. The food was fantastic and the service was great! If you stop in, you have to try the brussel sprouts, they were amazing!

Badger 777

We absolutely loved coming here. It's a small restaurant with lots of character. A great selection of locally sourced high quality ingredients. The staff is very nice and helpful. The brussel sprouts are an absolute must even if you are not a fan of brussel sprouts!

I can not comment on the food because the service was disastrous to begin so we left before we could eat. We walked in and I asked if they had a table for 4 and I was told by the hostess that they were fully booked but it was first come first serve on the patio. When we walked out I noticed someone was leaving and asked the waitress that was cleaning the table if we could have it. She said it was for reservations a only. I told her that the hostess told us it was first come first serve. All of a sudden a party of two walked in and were offered to sit outside on the table for four. First of all how does that make sense from a business stand point never mind customer service. You would think you would not want a party of two to take a table for 4 when we were sitting there and there were tables for 2 available. Then a third person walked up to us and gave us an excuse that they had reservations and they had to offer them the table first. I found that to be extremely disrespectful to my intelligence. For one if they had showed up and the previous party was still there what would have happened then? Not a very business savvy, customer oriented, intelligent establishment.

Great little place in Kelowna for shareables or smaller mains. Went there with 7 others for a birthday and the server recommended the chef bring out one dish at a time for all of us to try. Loved this experience as we all got to try the same thing at the same time and really enjoy it prior to the next dish coming. Really interesting recipes, always one ingredient that just takes you by surprise (white chocolate on chilli carrots). Be aware the place is relatively small, and can get busy, so if your group is bigger call ahead!

We had previously been to the salt and brick when it was under different ownership and called the “salted brick” and had an awesome experience so we thought we’d come back. Unfortunately, the second experience was not as thrilling... we ordered two items off the menu, excited about the interesting combinations they were advertising. The first dish wasn’t bad! It was bratwurst sausage and cabbage and pickles, not something I would order again but no complaints! The second dish was a stale waffle cone that you would find in any grocery store filled with a bland elk salami and yam mixture. The entire dish lacked flavour and the sweet, stale waffle cone just didn’t seem to belong. I guess we just chose the wrong dishes so maybe we’ll have to try again. It’s a shame because the service was great, vibe was great and concept is nice but the food was meh.

First time visiting Kelowna. Saturday night, quick and easy to get a table. We sat on the patio, nice for people watching. Service was fine Food was underwhelming. Small portions, pricey, not much flavour. Wouldn’t recommend this place.

Nice little tapas place near the waterfront. Menu is inventive and highlights locally sourced ingredients. This place is very popular and busy so recommend making a reservation. Service was top notch and server had great food recommendations.

Great people watching spot. Portions are pretty small for the price, but it was all very tasty. Excellent service too, we had an awesome evening.

I'm not sure why people love this place. My husband and I came here at the beginning of August because our Airbnb host told us that foodies always rave about Salt and Brick. At an average of $20-25 for each small plate, we weren't wow-ed by any of the 5 dishes we ordered: (1) The brussel sprouts weren't exactly "to die for" as most people say it is since ours came with stale popcorn and lacked flavour/needed more salt. (2) We also ordered the po' boy, which said it would have Alaskan pollock. This led us to believe that it would come as a filet, but instead we got what seemed like boiled surimi (the imitation crab meat you get in cheap sushi). It was difficult to finish this dish since it was soggy and tasted like the fake deep fried scallop in mayo you'd get at an AYCE sushi shop (although this was not deep fried and does not resemble the nice kind of fried scallop you're imagining). (3) The chili dog came with a bacon wrapped leek which was really awkward to bite off. It also didn't come with chili at first, so it was a plain hot dog with a bacon wrapped leek. We asked for the chili after our first bite and the expo was kind enough to bring us a mason jar of it, which made up for the "oomf" of this dish's flavour. (4) We ordered a pizza, which was also missing the peppers on it. We had to ask for that too. It definitely needed it to elevate the dish with its sweetness/acidity. (5) The kimchi prawns were disappointing since they only gave us 3 of them for $25+ and it just tasted like fried shrimp with kimchi sauce around it. This may still sound exotic to some people, but it was quite plain. Service was only okay since our server didn't pay much attention to us until it was time to get the bill. We didn't want to be "that guy" but we definitely became "that guy". Maybe we just have really high standards or perhaps the kitchen was having an off day. It didn't help that we had our expectations set very high from reading people's reviews and hearing good things about it from our host.

I went to Salt & Brick last night for a private function- wine pairing from Indigenous Winery - and had the most sublime experience ever! The food was unbelievable! Presentation stunning and the servers were absolutely brilliant!

Don't usually write reviews for places I haven't eaten at , but in this case I think it's warranted. Tried to dine here two nights in a row. First night turned away because the available table "probably wouldn't be good for 4 people", despite it being a covid partitioned 4 top. Second time arrived over an hour before posted closing time and told they decided to close early because it was quiet, but all kitchen and service staff were still there. Not sure how long a business can last when they repeatedly turn away business for staff preferences.

This place is amazing. I have eaten at some of the top restaurants in Canada and the US and this one ranks up there for sure. You have to come visit!!!

Great evening - explanation of food, great wine, great atmosphere... all in all it was a great evening out! Wonderful place for a cool night out!

Salt and Brick is to tapas what Olive Garden is to Italian Food. Going because "it was on the Food Network" is like going to a White Sox Game because Michael Jordan once played for them. Every dish was ostentatiously topped with ruinous drek. From tossing Doritos on mac & cheese to popcorn on brussel sprouts, every dish expressed the flair of a child inventing recipes on their easy bake oven.

The restaurant staff were friendly and the place had a great ambience. The open kitchen was fun to watch and I will definitely visit again on a date or girl's night. Interesting selections on the menu. Most dishes we tried were excellent. Fresh and well-balanced. The only dish that didn't meet my expectation was the roasted veggie. Also the tempura batter on the beef was kind of thick.

Went out on a Saturday night without Reservations and they had just enough room at the Bar. Staff was very Friendly and gave great suggestions about what to order. The food was just Perfect. The portions were larger than expected but the flavors were out of this world. Cannot wait to go back to taste more plates.

All around fantastic restaurant. The food is inventive and 90% of the dishes I've had were delicious, with the other 10% still being more than adequate. Best way to enjoy is to go with friends or family and try a bit of everything. Easily my favourite restaurant in Kelowna. I would love to see them get even more creative and really challenge the norm. Staff has always been very friendly and accommodating. Pricing is on the high end, but still low compared to what you would pay at a similar restaurant in Van/Mtl/Tor. Parking can be irritating but street parking can usually be had if you cruise around enough.

Put our names down at 7.30pm for 6 people tonight, server said it would be an hour and a half wait which we were fine with. At 9pm we called again to see how long the wait was, said it would be another while the table were slow. Then, we got a friend to go into the restaurant at 9.30 and they told us we maybe would get a table but the kitchen could be closed. We left the area at 11pm- we never got a call from the restaurant, they never bothered to call us and tell us we weren’t getting a table and the kitchen was closed. We completely understood the wait but unreasonable to keep a table hanging for something that was never going to happen.

Chill and casual. Unpretentious delicious food. Killer staff. Top 3 spots in town, brunch, lunch or dinner.

We had a great experience here. Scored a table outside and watched the sun set. Highly recommend the half & half meat & cheese platter, if they have it on the menu. It was delicious! They promote themselves as a sharing plate, tapas style restaurant, but a number of the plates we saw were not easily shared.. that was strange.. The menu is updated frequently, which is great! Our Server was an awesome Aussie lady! She made our night. Well done Salt & Brick ????????
