Really great place for a special night. I went here for my birthday and got the royal treatment. The chef was funny and the host very nice. It is expensive but if you haven't ever been to a restaurant like this, or if you have, its worth a visit and the money.

Try it now! Good location, solid parking, first off. Ambience is great, cool water feature, nice chopsticks and more! The food could take a while (they're new so they're still finding their balance) but the quality is top notch. The signature Steak and Sushi combo is great and only $25. Do recommend. The teppanyaki is fantastic. You get a great five course meal with a show. Ken in particular was a great host and chef. You'll be wowed by the flames, stunned at the reflexes, and sent to a state of bliss by the quality of the food.

Absolutely beautiful restaurant with friendly staff and amazing food. They've got high quality ingredients and don't cut any corners, including small things like having fresh seaweed in the miso soup. Would highly recommend for any type of occasion and the teppanyaki is a great show!

Good intentions but it did not deliver the quality food I expected. Spinach appetizer is tasteless, cod dish is not good, and sushi is so far from Japan it is sad. The price tag matches the fancy entrance door and furniture.

Amazing place--you get a delicious, multi-course dinner and a show all in one. Enjoy the art of teppanyaki, a unique style of Japanese cuisine where your meal is cooked in front of you on a hot steel plate, including juggling and occasional flames as part of the entertainment. Great place for steak and/or seafood. Worth every dollar for an extra special occasion. Definitely one of the best dining experiences I've had!

My family and I came to this restaurant today to celebrate Father’s Day. I didn’t know what to expect, but was very pleasantly surprised! The man who served us, Walter, was extremely polite and very kind. I unfortunately could not tell him this in person (and I’m truly not sure if they read these reviews) but I wish I had! I didn’t make the best impression, since I get anxious in public situations, but I’d like the staff to know they all did amazing. I hope that he one day fulfills his dream of opening his own restaurant, because he sure is great.

So sad that they don't have a patio and are closed due to covid restrictions. They just opened up. We were looking forward to an Easter dinner there with our family. Sadly it was canceled due to closures. When things open up again will definitely be back.

Had the Filet Mignon Wagyu steak and a special sushi roll. The sushi was tasty, fresh, and I enjoyed it. If that was all I had, it would have been a 5 star review. The Wagyu steak was very underwhelming, and nothing special compared to any other steak I've had. When I mentioned this to my server, they were quick to state that this is Albertan Wagyu and to not expect anything like the Japanese Wagyu. The price, though, was very close to what you'd get for a Japanese Wagyu. The 8oz steak seemed very small, more like a 6oz, and it was definitely overcooked from my request of medium rare (very little pink other than the middle cut, mostly grey especially when I got to the sides). Overall, it was an ok meal. It took about 45 minutes from the time we ordered until we got our food. I would only go back for the sushi, and leave the steaks to other establishments.

Definitely a fun dining experience! It is a bit on the pricey side, but you pay for the entertainment and ambiance. Really nice restaurant, staff were attentive and kind. The food was fresh and tasty. They had a great selection of unique and fresh veggies for the teppanyaki show. And you can absolutely taste the difference of the Wagyu compared to the Filet Mignon, so good! Well done Kasai!

Came here with some friends the other day and had a great dining experience, our server had great reccomendations to compliment our meals. We had 2 sirloin tepans and a Kasai all the way, our only dissatisfaction was the "appetizer" which was 2 prawns/ea. Atmosphere was great and it's quiet enough where yelling isn't required for a conversation. Would reccomend!

Fantastic dining experience. We treated ourselves to the Teppanyaki dinner as an early Valentines gift to each other since they were completely booked for February 14th. It is a bit pricey but we figured we aren't able to go on vacation so lets treat ourselves. The staff is all super friendly and attentive. The chef was a lot of fun and the food was very tasty. They even made our dessert ( sorbet ) a little extra special because we told them we were there for an early Valentines dinner since they were all booked for Valentines day. It was fun to do something different. We would definitely recommend splurging on yourselves. We will be back.

food was considerably underwhelming and disappointing. the agedashi tofu was so bland. i could really only eat it with the sweet and sour sauce, but the sauce itself tasted like anything premade you could get at a supermarket. the veggie sushi rolls were alright but nothing extraordinary. my friends got the prawn tempura and soft shell crab and really didn't like the texture of the batter, which they said was dense, hard, and crunchy in a very unappetizing manner. the atmosphere was chill and our server was friendly to us, but wouldn't ever go here again. the money you pay is definitely not worth the quality of food you get. you can get way better japanese food at mabui on harvey ave.

Good main but the steak and sushi took an hour and 15 minutes and they didn't approach us once in between that time to ask if we wanted another beer. Felt like they purposely ignored us. Didn't salt the agedashi so we had to lather it in soy sauce. Probably won't be back despite the good steak.

The moment you walk in to Kasai you are presented with a meticulously decorated and highly classy lobby, everything from the colors to the lighting has been carefully selected. The wow factor definitely shows and is a wonderful preamble to what you can expect from the teppanyaki table service. Chef Walter and a lovely waitress made our night enjoyable with excellent attention and warm and inviting attitude. The first appetizer was shrimp and from the first bite I could tell it would be a very enjoyable dinner and show. Chef Walter went over and above to truly engage with us and he is truly a master chef. Everything he cooked was a wow in flavor and presentation. Tried on three separate occasions to make a reservation here, after hearing this restaurant is fantastic. I heard nothing back after email and leaving a voicemail, and upon calling once more, I was unable to reserve a table with a week's notice due to unwillingness to share my credit card information. I was attempting to reserve a table 3, 2, then 1 week in advance for each successive attempt. I imagine it is a great place to eat, if you can get in.

Looks like it may be a small little place in a strip mall from the outside, then you open the doors and it looks like a restaurant in Vegas. Excellent Tepanyaki restaurant. I have only tried the Tepanyaki table, but if the Tepanyaki is any sign the restaurant will be awesome as well. We were celebrating a birthday and they asked if we were celebrating a special event. I was impressed that they would enquire. We were greeted right away and shown to a tepanyaki table. They checked for food allergies and food dislikes. Our chef was from Mexico. An excellent chef and entertainer. Our food was excellent. The service was excellent. The prices are good. It is a multi course dining experience. We didn't feel rushed, it was a relaxed and tasty experience. It is popular, you need a reservation. I highly recommend the Kasai Teppanyaki restaurant. .

My wife and I went with my in-laws and our 2 year old. What an excellent experience. The atmosphere, service, food and presentation were top notch. I lived in Vancouver for 8 years before moving to Kelowna 5 years ago so I feel I have a decent understanding of good sushi. My in-laws are also Japanese and know good from bad Japanese style cuisine. We all agreed that this is by far one of the best Japanese restaurants we have been to in a long time. Easily one of the top Japanese restaurants in Kelowna and surrounding area. WE would easily recommend this place for anyone looking for good Japanese food. We unfortunately didn’t get a chance to experience the teppanyaki but we look forward to trying it next time. NOTE: You should call ahead to book a time for the teppanyaki experience.

The decor is beautiful. The Kasai name over the bar is magnificent; worth the trip alone! We were very well received and seated on time for our reservation. The teppanyaki dinner presentation and show was done by a professional, personable chef. The food was to die for. We treated ourselves to a full selection and shared lobster, scallops, shrimp , chicken and their famous Wagyu beef - which was the most tender beef I have ever eaten. Our dinner included rice, vegetables, miso soup and ice cream. Service was top notch. To anyone visiting or who lives in the Kelona area I highly recommend this restaurant!

The place is really pretty inside with an awesome layout. Booths are quiet and give you privacy from other people so you can really just enjoy company. But, speaking from a sushi perspective - meh. Very pricey compared to other local places and other than presentation it is by no means any better. BUT, their bathrooms are wonderful so.... this is a textbook compliment sandwich. I would still like to go back for the 'live cooking' but if you are looking for sushi, I highly recommend elsewhere (Bluetail, Momo, etc.) to get far more bang (and variety) for your buck.

Had the worst experience in this restaurant. Design and ambiance 10/10. They did a really good job on interior. On the other hand, food and service are 2/10. The steak was tough and chewy. If you are paying this amount of money, you should not be spitting your steak out. This is very unexpectable for a "high-end" steak house. Services are horrible, waited for ever to get another drink and the restaurant was not busy at all. The server should be on top of everything; however, they didn't come check on us even once. I got better service in Cora than here. Very HORRIBLE!!! Not suggested at all!!!! Save your money during this pandemic time !!!! The keg is 1000 times better!!!!!

This restaurant is by far my Top pick for 2021 so far! The wife and myself decided to treat ourselves to a nice dinner so we Googled #1 restaurant pics in Kelowna. Kasai was top of the list so we called to make a reservation. 5 PM the next evening we were in our grill side seats , drinks in hand, waiting for our chef to make his entrance. Paige was our server and was as wonderful as expected ! Walter, our chef arived and after a short introduction and explanation of sauces and courses he began to show us his mastery of knife skills and culinary excellence. We decided to share the seafood dinner and add a beautiful piece of Filet mignon to our course. It was a 6 course meal, starting with lovely large shrimp perfectly cooked. Next came the vegetables. There was imported Chinese oyster mushrooms , bok choy, onions, and broccoli. Once all perfectly grilled he flipped pieces to each customer and we caught them in our mouths! So much fun. Rice came next. He did some amazing things with eggs and rice! The main course was simply divine! Lobster tails and scallops cooked to perfection! The added filet mignon was melt in your mouth tender. We ended the meal with exquisite icecream of your choice!. I left out a few things not to spoil your experience if you go ???? I highly recommend this restaurant to anyone who wants a great dinner and show. It is something you won't forget. But also they have a full dine in experience as well with a full menu including some of the best sushi in town. I give them an extra star.!???? Thank you Walter and Paige for making it our best dining experience ever! I would like to add that the cost reflects the quality of the meal and experience! But was very very reasonable! Entertaining place to eat. Sadly the way the food was cooked to death made the experience less than desirable. Lobster was cooked to resemble rubber grommets. Ordered a rare steak and it was easily made medium well.. at pretty much 100$ per person definitely I do not feel like there was much value in what we got served. Wait staff was fantastic though, and thr drinks definitely shined over the food. I think the chefs are hired to be able to put on a show. Rather than being able to actually cook.. Sadly I wouldn't recommend this place.

A great experience! Definitely something you want to bring friends or family to. But a date night is always fun as well. You get seated with other individuals and the whole experience is quite interactive as the chef shows off their culinary skills and tricks around the iron grill. It really is dinner and a show. The quality of food is good and it's worth the cost. But speaking of cost, it can be quite pricey...while a family friendly experience...it is not cost effective if you can't afford to spend a few hundred. If you can, lucky you and you should definitely check it out! :) We got the chicken & steak dinners and a couple of drinks and it came to around $100 - which is not bad for this kind of venue/experience. Would return!!

We came here for the first time last night for a friends birthday and had an amazing evening! Our server Vanessa provided us with top notch service, the cocktails were unique and delicious and we were blown away by both the food prepared by Chef Walter and the show he put on for us! The price of the meals is completely justified as it truly is entertainment and dining mixed into one! I can't say enough good things! PS... Make sure to get a Sake Bomb!

I had made reservations here for my girlfriend's birthday. I had good reviews of the place from a co worker so I was expecting good results, boy was I wrong. First second we walk in, there are 6 people in the corner being very loud and incredibly obnoxious. Of course we are sat next to them. We thought it might be fine, we will be in and out. Nope, our food is going to be forty minutes late and that was fine once the group piped down, but they started up again and this time wouldn't let off. Everyone around us was very bothered, we even heard another customer make a comment to the table next to them as they were leaving. We put up with it for 30 minutes before we asked the staff to seat us elsewhere and they said that they can't. This group was evidently told to pipe down but they wouldn't and the staff just continuously brought them drinks. It was at this point we decided to leave, when we told the staff they said "sorry we hope you can come again some other time". Fat chance, I will never bring my business there again, it is evident that they care about money more than customer service. An hour of our time was wasted. I thought I was coming to a restaurant not a bar. I would not recommend this place to anyone who cares about their money, we didnt even get our food.

Wow what an expierance! Was there last night for my bday dinner. First off they just added the patio part and it was like VIP at we were the only table. Walter made the night with his fun jokes and witty comments. Been to kobes Vancouver and Walter did better and it didn't seem rehearsed like usual. The steak was the best I had and almost put my nephew into a coma with his eyes becoming huge like he just opened his eyes for the first time. The bday ice cream at the end was insane and unexpected. Worth every penny.

I have been to many Teppanyaki restaurants througout North America. The food was great, presentation was lacking showmanship. The chef is learning the tricks, totally over priced. Service was just ok.

Awesome. Very luxurious Wash room equipped with mouth wash and so on. The chef is very interactive. The renovation includes abundant Eastern elements, hard to describe but need to be present here to see.

Excellent food and service every time we visit Kasai! The staff are very friendly and all the dishes are prepared with care and fantastic presentation. If you cannot get in for Teppanyaki, I highly suggest trying the sushi! The oshi sushi and Kasai roll are our favourites.

Been twice this month with family and the show is incredible .the food is top notch. Not a better steak out there. Had chef Walter both times and his juggling and knife skills amaze you . Great friendly staff and a beautiful decor which is very photogenic. My 9 year old was mega thrilled

Everything was way over priced, didn’t really like my steak. My steak was over cooked and my girlfriend’s steak was undercooked. Also tried a sushi roll, won’t pay that much for the roll. It’s just a common roll that I can have anywhere else in town but with cheaper price.
