Sandwiches and soups are always delicious. However, the waiter/server man is … very sour. He almost seems annoyed when people come in the restaurant, especially if you have kids with you. It wouldn't kill him to smile and ask how you are. You are in the service industry dude.

Thought this would be a great place for taking our grandson. What kid wouldn't love a restaurant that has Grill Cheese in their name. Very inviting inside, smells good, but not child friendly. Once we were sitting at our table we admired the salt and pepper shakers. Another review mentioned these which are interesting. The waiter came over and said immediately that whatever was spilt from the shakers was our responsibility to clean up. l laughed thinking this was his way of welcoming and introducing himself. Then he said "there not toys". We were uncomfortable and still went ahead with our order. Two of the items we ordered were not available at this time but we finished our order with other items and when he left we looked at each other and said this is not a place for kids. We got up and cancelled our order and left. Too bad l think they could do so much better without this miserable waiter who handled himself so poorly and except well behaved children who would love a grill cheese sandwich. But its their restaurant and they can run it their way, l totally get that. I just wish there was a sign on the door saying adults only so l didn't have to be treated this way. We feel so bad about this experience and although l do not write reviews, this being my first, l feel l wanted to share this.

Do you like good food? Then you're probably gonna find this place to be amazing. Prepare to decimate any concept of that you thought a grilled cheese was. This place has a huge number of variations on the original dish and while none of them are similar, they are delicious. **Pro-tip** If you ask real nice they just might deliver your food to you at the brewery accross the street so you can have a pint while you wait. The brewery has a cute patio where you can crush your food since they restaraunt currently doesn't offer indoor dining.

Great quality food, friendly staff and good atmosphere. They have gluten free bread and all the soups where gluten free as well. Flavour combos of the melts where incredible, definitely highly recommended

Excellent Rueben sandwich, lots of meat and club sandwich was excellent too ( hubby had that). Sandwiches are big enough for 2 people to share, next time. Prices are good.

I had the special (Pineapple Express) and it was awesome. My bud had the Greek and he really liked it. We grabbed a pint across the street at Old Dog Brewery and they delivered it to us. Great service and very friendly. The staff even chatted about the best beer for their upcoming potato soup so you can they are passionate and are sourcing local when they can.

Found this place on yelp and wanted to try it. Didn't even get as far as ordering due to rude customer service. Asked how long it would take for an order and basically got scolded for asking. What a great first impression, NOT! They don't care how they treat their PAYING customers. A soup kitchen is more polite!

I got the Great Northern and LOVED it! The flavours worked extremely well together and the cheese was juuust melty enough and the apple chutney gave it a really cool kick of flavour. It did take a little while for it to be ready but SO worth it! I'd definitely come back here again.

We had to wait 45 mins for 2 grilled cheese's and then, when we asked to get it to GO the young guy rolled his eyes and walked to the counter to put them in take out containers. No apology for the long wait and it was terrible customer service. I dont even think the older guy said 4 words to us the whole time. Food used to be excellent, but this time it was just OK and it was also more expensive than last time I was there. I wont be back.

The owners were really rude. Will not he back... this isn't the first time either! I did a phone order and was told that they have to be all the same... Fine, than when picking up was rude to a customer that was asking about the soup of the day. The other time my friend brought her daughter who was NOT being loud. Asked rudely if she had an inside voice!! And heaven forbid ask for ketchup....

Stopped in today for a grilled cheese. I had a mask on and was the only person in the restaurant. Customers stand just inside the door to place and accept orders. I was the only customer in the restaurant. After placing my order, i was told to wait outside and the order would be brought out to me. I asked why. I was told they needed to keep things, moving, maintain the flow, they had a take-out order coming. I made the point that it was 30 degrees outside but was told to wait outside anyway, which I did. I will not be back.

We stopped in this little diner for lunch and were so surprised a great little spot with fun decor and a generally relaxed and chilled atmosphere. The grilled cheese we had were glorious, huge portions and no ketchup needed. Great flavours! Will be going back for sure!

Eclectic comes to mind. Great grilled cheese sandwiches and homemade soups. I had a sampler of 2 different sandwiches and 2 different soups. All were good. My favourites were "We got the beet" and a beer/potato/cheddar soup. Delish!

Sluggish service. Rude staff. Want to wait 40 minutes for a grilled cheese in a cramped space? The food is fine but you can easily do better in your home in half the time.

Stopped by on the way back from the cabin. Had to decide between the subway next door and the Hideaway. So glad that I went with the local restaurant option. I got the "Northerner" and boy was it good. I'm writing the review in the car and I'm honestly considering asking the driver to turn around for another one. Do your mouth a favour, drop by for a bite.

What a unique restaurant. Wonderful, creative food. I am about 1 hour away and have been many times. I always take a different friend and they all love it. The only concern I have is the server. He is more often than not very curt. Maybe an extra server at especially busy times would help.
