Service and meal were both wonderful. Very large serving. Really enjoyed our visit. Thank you.
Excellent
Treated my daughter poorly
Once again we were at the Pie Eyed Monk. The food and service were outstanding as usual..Aaron always make us feel more than welcome. Taya our server met every need and more. This is our go to place when my brothers come to town. Thank you so very much for being here.
Meal type
My mom passed away last week and was cremated in Lindsay. After seeing her, my family went to the Pie Eyed Monk for dinner. We were the first people inside the restaurant after Phase 3 was lifted. Had a separate dinning room for a private dinner. It was an excellent meal. Service was great, food was very good and prices were very reasonable. I loved the atmosphere. Truly a joyous celebration for my mother. Next time we go back to Lindsay I plan to dine there to have a wonderful meal again!! Thank You So Much.
Excellent Experience. The food here is top-notch for a brewery. Best pizza I've had in a long time. Excellent craft beer selection. Really cool place to hangout! Flawless experience from start to finish. This will be a regular spot for me now!
We went hear for my daughters birthday and the food and service was wonderful we enjoyed everything the place had to offer yummy vegetarian options too and the drinks were very yummy
restaurant was clean and very nice patio. Service was decent. The food was boring and plain coupled with super small portions made for not good value. Drinks are overpriced as well. Left hungry.
Great pizza and service. The ladies making the pizzas were so friendly and welcoming. Unfortunately, the beer is close to undrinkable. I work in the beer industry so I’m very familiar with what craft beer should taste like... the wheat beer (hefeweizen) should probably come off the menu immediately.
The atmosphere and food is amazing !!! Aaron and Jenn have done a great job !! This is a great Go To place for Lindsay.
We had a lovely pizza and caeser salad. Our waitress Melissa was very pleasant and helpful as it was our first time here. The atmosphere was relaxing and not noisy like some restaurants. Just a good night overall and we will be coming back again.
An all around excellent experience. Sampled every beer they had that night, and they were all good. Tried the beef poutine fries (tasty) and pizza from their wood oven (epic). Atmosphere and decor are high end. Will be back many times.
Yummy, definitely going back ????
I have enjoyed their beverages. Their quality in food is not desired. First experience, the stone pizza crust was burnt to the crisp. During my second dinning experience, the salad ordered was wilted and brown and it was replaced with a caesar salad with hair in it. As I was leaving, a gentleman approached me asking how the fair was. I explained my experiences with their salad that night confirming that they were removed from the bill. He offered a drink on the house upon my return. Needless to say he assumed that I would, I have not and I wondered if he was in my shoes, would he.
Great service. Good pub food.
Great food! Amazing beer!
really good fries, and a few great vegan options!
First time for us and very disappointed in the food quality and service. The mussels were turned and when we tried to send them back the waitress returned with them with a message from the cook, must be the beer they are cooked in that smelled like rot. Table has no condiments and unless you ask for staples like salt & pepper, lemon or vinegar with the fish & chips you will not be offered any. The pizza is undercooked and bland, when we asked for parmesan we were told it was extra, doesn't the price of a 22 buck pizza rate extra cheese or a tasty Olive oil to sprinkle on? They do not make pizzas to order but you can choose a duck breast or a rabbit pizza from the menu. The menu definitely needs review. Do any of the owners have a restaurant background?
Good food and good customer service
My daughter and I had a fantastic lunch at the Pie Eyed Monk. They had live music that day. We were able to enjoy great food and entertainment. I highly recommend visiting this great space.
Slow service, but good food.
Dine in
Excellent food and service.
Great food, great atmosphere
Always good service and excellent Choices on the menu and tasty.
We had quite the experience visiting the Pie Eyed Monk Brewery on Sat sept 22, We had made a reservation for 7:30 and arrived early so we sat at the bar for a few drinks first which was fine, the bar service was good and the monk Ceasar was very good, upon asking for Gluten free Options for my husband who is siliac and being offered only vodka we continued to have a good time (much later that evening finding out they 2 gluten free ciders on tap that they failed to mention. At 7:30 we were seated at a table directly behind us that had been empty for the last 45 min and the another 30 min later had to track down a server to ask if we could order as no one had come over yet. Now after double checking for gluten free (gf) alternatives we found there are only 3 Gf options available lasagna, a gf veagan sandwhich and choc cake. My husband ordered the lasagna. It has no meat, no cheese and no noodles. All of which are easily prepared and available with out gluten. I ordered the steak rare, it came with a slight pink hue on the center slice (its came cut) only on a bed of over cooked fries. As it was our anniversary dinner and we dont get to many evenings out alone we made the most of it and decided to try the gkuten free cake. Ot was dark chocolate on top of dark chocolate (no cake ) with cherry sauce that we believe was not gluten free as we hadn't made it home yet when my husband started to feel the effects of the gluten. Its frustrating as there aren't many places we can go and to drop $125 on a special dinner to be disapointed so badly makes us wonder why we bother. We wont be going back!
Great experience. Food was excellent and the 2 beers we tried were really good. Our server was friendly and efficient and all Covid-19 protocols were respectfully observed. We would highly recommend this establishment.
Visited last weekend for a patio lunch and was not disappointed! Food was delicious and the server Melissa was so kind and attentive. Washrooms inside were clean and well maintained (and accessible!).
Food was amazing and delicious. Service was fantastic
My favorite pizza!!! Delicious.
Fantastic food, beer and atmosphere. Very friendly staff. More so, quite a few menu options could be made gluten free.
Spacious patio, delicious craft beer, fish n chips, and classic rock. 5/5
Have been about 4 times since opening. Everytime I have had very poor service waiter always confused in what they have always have to ask the "chef" the worst waiter was the one we had the other night was very rude and sarcastic she was blonde tall short hair. REALLY NOT ALLERGY FRIENDLY not everyone wants a pizza with meat and dairy what's wrong with a veggie and goat cheese pizza ? not to mention that the 22$+ pizza hardley has any toppings on it I get better pizzas at pizza hut menu needs to updated with better options. No salt and pepper avaible if you want parm or olive oil ur charged why spend over 20$ on pasta if your charged for parm ????????. Usually fancy placess offer good olive oil at the table as well as s&p. Not coming back gave it a chance Also the muscles were raunchy sent it back to have the chef try and correct us when they smell like a outhouse there gone someone could have got very sick off them.
The Ambiance in the Brewery was good. The price of the food was fair and the quality was okay. I tried out their stout, and it was pretty good. They have a variety of beers for you to choose from. I would suggest trying out the flight if you're not sure what you're going to like. The food was okay but not spectacular. I tried the pizza which is pretty decent. This wouldn't be my go-to suggestion for food in Lindsay, but if you're looking for a good beer it's a nice place to check out.
I like the ambience but... I bought an overpriced dinner Greek salad and had to ask if they had mistakenly brought me the side salad. My friend had the Greek salad with chicken and was starving after it. We had one sprite and a water and the bill came to over $40- before tip. We went elsewhere to eat after we left when we discovered that we were both still hungry. I had a bad experience with the food and attitude when the restaurant was fairly new. I thought I would try it again. They have had the last of my business. It’s too bad because it has such potential.
Awesome!
Food and beer were great. Really nice decor. A little loud but it was packed.
Good food, very nice atmosphere and friendly service. The patio is covered so you don't get roasted. I would definitely go again.
Great outdoor patio, great service. We had the Brisket and the Pulled Pork, and both were fabulous. Definitely stop in!
Beauty of a patio. Awesome staff.
Everything was ok to good, nothing to right home about but I will go again
Service
Pasta was undercooked.. had to send it back and wait 15 mins for a fresh batch. Was actually cooked well when it came back.. French onion soup very watery and basically a small crust of cheesy bread floating in a big bowl of watery soup. Acoustics were extremely noisy.. hard to hear each other talk. Service was fantastic though and the place looks very cool.
We had a great lunch today would recommend the 1/2 Rueben Sandwich with the Corn Chowder soup combo. Thank you Mary Beth and her assistant for serving us. Will be back
Some of the best fish and chips we ever had
We love this restaurant they have the best pizza in Lindsay and great wine and beer the servers are great always attentive and very friendly
Food was ove priced and the beer is the worst I've ever had 2/10 would not recommend
I’ve been to the Pie Eyed Monk a handful of times and it’s been nothing but great. My most recent experience was for the 2019 Super Bowl and the owners kept the restaurant open for an hour after closing to share stories and laughs, as well as a few drinks on the house. If you’re looking for a fantastic atmosphere and a delicious meal definitely invest the time in The Monk, you won’t be disappointed.
Great atmosphere. Unique menu. Ordered a large pretzel to go after our meal. Recommend.
Went here for a wedding. What an amazing venue. This hybrid brewery, bar, restaurant banquet hall was exquisitely decorated with a beautiful ambiance. Food was excellent, service was excellent.
Took my family there last week for dinner. Very nice iterior, great staff. Dill pickles outstanding. However two members of our party had burgers. Both were very over cooked and dry. Perhaps he needs to look at a new beef supplier. Farmers butcher in Lindsay has the best beef going. (No iam not related). Outstanding pre made patties. Pizza was ok not overly outstanding. Hopefully the owners will take any and all crticism constructively and use it to improve. We really need a good place to eat in town and i hope this is it.
We loved the seats to view the kitchen. Fast friendly service. Portions small for the price you pay except for desert. Hopefully menu will expand as time passes.
Had a wonderful time last night. 1st time there. The waitress was really good. She was friendly and informative and she made sure we were good at all times. The food was delicious. The beer was great. Had a flavor for every taste. The atmosphere was great. Really enjoyed our night. Will be back for sure.
Nice little local microbrewery with a new outdoor patio offering good beer and pub fare food for reasonable prices. Nice location for a kayak and light lunch.
Could very well be the coolest place and nicest staff in Lindsay.
Great food, great service! Had a really good meal
We had fundraiser there this evening. The staff and the craft beer were awesome ! Beautiful brewery ????
Well I have to say I am impressed! We brought some friends that were visiting from out of town so I was a little hesitant to try a new place, I didn't need to worry. The food was amazing, the portions were great and the service couldn't have been better. We will be going back again!
I visited for a family event. I had the chaceuterie board and a Reuben Sandwich with house salad. The food and service was outstanding. I was actually surprised at the cost. It is very reasonably priced for such good food (large portions as well) and beer. This is a craft brewery restaurant. I had the pale ale (Forget the name) which was outstanding! Lastly, the atmosphere was also great. Very cozy and comfortable. Great experience ????
We were seated outside as there were no seats inside. We were fine with this and proceeded to order soft drinks. Once the waitress delivered the drinks wasps began to appear. We were un able to drink the pop and decided to leave as we had not ordered food and knew it was going to be impossible to eat peacefully there. We went inside and explained what was happening. They charged us 7 dollars for drinks we couldn t drink as wasps were inside and all around them. Terrible customer service. Fountain pop.
Amazing atmosphere and great food. The beer is fantastic.
This place is amazing! Placed in a historic building in the heart of Lindsay, Pie Eyed Monk offers incredible selection of beers, delicious food to cater to all eaters: vegans, vegetarians and carnivores and excellent customer service with knowledgeable staff! The design of this place is so eclectic and unique! One of those most beautiful places and decor I’ve seen!
Great ambiance. Good food. Tasty in-house brew.
Glamour wood, an ever watchful and oh-so slightly intimidating Penn Jillete style bloke, plus canned pineapple on a $19 pizza... I that's the best summary I can provide after two visits. Good experience points; Nice atmosphere (man does Lindsay need this place for a change of scenery and new opportunities for going out), decent enough craft beers and friendly servers. Poor experience points; Pretty much everything else. On our first visit we ordered a flight of beers and their deep friend pickles app which promised to be a unique spin on a pub classic. The beers were fine - they ran the gamut of taste one would expect in any brewpub, but the deep fried pickle uniqueness stopped at the idea. In reality it was a strange tempura batter, cold and weak - covering soggy, lifeless pickle slices that were stacked beside some flavourless mayonnaise they dared to call aioli. We tried the margherita pizza as well on this visit, as they boast "Lindsay's only wood fired pizza oven"... It was a letdown; undercooked, bland and totally forgettable. Chalked it up to growing pains and getting a brand new business into swing - one strange thing however, was the rather statuesque gentleman running the pass (barking his orders quite loudly in an open concept environment) and though he reminded us of a famous magician in a complimentary light, he lacked the warmth of that fella by constantly glaring around the restaurant, clearly keeping tabs on the goings on, but coming across (to us anyway) as quite intimidating and unwelcoming. Some weeks later we tried them again, this time knowing which beers to order, but also giving the pizza knots and "sweet pig" pizza a try. The knots promise to be "wood fired oven pizza knots with parmesan, basil and Ontario garlic oil" but were sent back for being clearly frozen, tasteless balls of dough that had not seen anywhere near long enough in the oven. The pizza boasts "pineapple, hand cut prosciutto and mozzarella" - and it did have all of these things. However, the pineapple was clearly canned, and the pizza itself was flavourless. A wood fired oven boosts flavour and should offer a subtle smokey flair - and while the patio of this pub is filled with beautifully stacked firewood, it's unfortunately for show, as whoever is using the oven clearly isn't skilled to make it sing. Drive into Toronto and visit Pizza Libretto, and you'll see the difference in a heartbeat. Again, Penn glared around the dining room and when greeting guests, barked table numbers to his staff. I want this place to work very badly. Lindsay needs more options than it has for a change of scenery for a lunch meeting, date night or a place to take friends from out of town. But twice we've been left down by the food (which is quite expensive when compared to options of equal fare less than a 25 minute drive to Peterborough) If it was simply a tasting room akin to Port Perry's Old Flame it would be getting 5 stars from me due to its atmosphere and staff. The service isn't quick, but the place is lovely. If the food was anywhere close to Ashburnham Ale House in East City, it would get another 5 stars - as they understand real, fresh ingredients and take the time to cook their menu with the respect it deserves. But it's not. It's lacklustre in its food offering at best, and needs a whole new outlook on ingredients and process to bring it up to par. Currently it might be staying steady due to its newness in town, but we did notice the Friday night crowd this evening was much smaller than our previous Saturday night visit weeks ago... not a great sign. If you're up for a craft beer and a neat place to spend some time, I'd totally suggest it - but would steer very clear of anything else until they get their affairs in order. Also Mr. Jillette; smile a bit and glare a little less... and if you go to a few tables to see how things are going, you need to go to everyone - hosting is a lot like kindergarten (if you didn't bring enough for the whole class...) You're supposed to make people want to be here.
Great service, great food and great beer!!
Great food good atmosphere. Great service. One of the best Rueben sandwich's i have had.
They're meat is so good. Burgers are amazing and the pizzas are good
Good food, friendly service, on-site craft beer, historic building - what's not to like.
Nice place,
Great Historic location. Love the beer. Food is amazing, great place for pizza. The decor is really nice. Large location. Much needed for Lindsay.
I want to like it here... I do. This menu has gotten very boring... nothing that makes this place stand out. In need of some signature dishes that pull you into the restaurant.
Food was delicious! Service was excellent and atmosphere great!
Great atmosphere & vegan options are really good!
three stars
Good service, good food and ????
Awesome food! Great service!
My family and I went for dinner on Friday night. The pizza, pasta, and burgers were fantastic! We also loved how they brought a glass bottle of water to the table for everyone to share. We will be back!
I was not impressed at all. It was my girlfriend's birthday and we went there as a group of 6, she ordered mushroom alfredo and the mushrooms were not washed, still had dirt on them and the pasta was raw. Sent the pasta back and got it back and still wasn't cooked. That's fine but then I get the bill and they had charged us for the uncooked dirty pasta. You'd be better off buying pizza at dominos as well, service took forever too, we were there for 3 hours... must of just been a bad night
The patio was excellent and food delicious.
Very nice experience, must visited place in Lindsay!
The atmosphere and decor is so well done. The food is delicious and the beer is top notch quality. Let's not forget the management and staff. Well done in marketing the establishment I highly recommended this restaurant you will not be disappointed George
Quality artisan food, and great locally made beer.
Has good food mid price point busy atmosphere but dont feel rushed out of ur seat
This place was amazing. Great food, good service and superior beer. Try the stout. We went with a party of 14 all of our food came out at the same time and hot. Our server did a great job of waiting on us attentively. Go here.
Fantastic food and good beer. Do yourself a favour and try the pizza. Done in a wood fired oven, the best in town by far.
Excellent
The atmosphere is very cool, lovely staff and the beer is absolutely delicious!
Food was excellent, local brewed ales are easy on the palet.
Just went in for lunch with a friend and enjoyed every aspect of my stay. The staff were so friendly and helpful. The atmosphere was so nice and relaxed. Such a great change the brewery has made In the last year. I plan to be back for more pizza and lattes. Highly recommend :)
My first visit! Won't be our last. We enjoyed dinner on the outdoor patio, with great beer and food. Worth the visit.
Great place, great food, great beer.
Pie Eyed Monk Lindsay ... not a great experience at all for our first time there for dinner. Walked right in indoor part to sit on patio. No problem. No questions about mask etc. After ordering dinner, I went to use indoor washroom, I was stopped at door by a waitress who mentioned I needed to wear a mask to go indoors. I mentioned I was already indoors and that wasn’t mentioned then so she mentioned mask exemptions don’t work for private property and they have extra masks indoors. I said no thank you as I have a medical exemption and I would wait to use the washroom until I got home. After sitting back down outside and waiting for our dinner, that waitress (who wasn’t our actual waitress anyway) walked by me and threw a mask down on our table and walked away. I asked to speak to the manager who came out and said she was right and that all patrons a have to wear to wear a mask to enter and use their establishment. I mentioned I came in without one and no one mentioned anything, I mentioned I have a medical exemption and that I was happy to follow policy and wasn’t going to even use their washroom but wanted to bring it to his attention how I felt and how rude that waiter was by throwing a mask on our table after I was polite and sat back down. We just got the bill and left. Awful first experience and won’t be returning.
Great food and beer.
The restaurant seating, decor and atmosphere is very nice and a welcome difference to the cookie cutter franchise restaurants that can be found. The servers are friendly and attentive. I ordered one of the specialty drinks of the day which was very tasty. Unfortunately my fish and chips meal was a bit disappointing. The french fries were very dark and overcooked, the fish wasn't too bad but seemed to still have a lot of oil inside when cutting into it, and the coleslaw was under seasoned. My dinner mates enjoyed their meals so I am hoping this was a one off thing.
Went for lunch a month ago. Pizza was amazing as was the service. So much so ordered a second. Took my family last night excited to share my experience. Ordered a burger and was served far too rare so I sent it back. Not a deal breaker after all nobody's perfect just make it right and all is good. The one star comes from the owner coming to the table, asking who had the under cooked burger even though I was the only one without a meal in front of them and said " do me a favor next time you come back make sure you ask for it to be well done ". I said that the server didn't ask how I wanted it cooked and he said " we cook them under unless you ask for them to be well done cause that's how I like mine. I like mine to moo" . What? Still confused. Isn't burger supposed to be 165° no matter how the owner prefers his cooked? In the end she did bring me a cooked burger which was delicious even though everyone at the table had finished eating by now. No attempt to make things better on the bill either. I get that not everytime everything is going to be perfect but please don't place any of the blame on the customer. Own it and make it right.
Friendly staff, great selection of food and drink. Love the wood fired pizza
Very friendly and helpful staff. Fantastic food.
I have dined at this restaurant three times and the food has gone from mediocre to worse. Reservations? Why bother? Each time I was either seated at the table near the kitchen prep station that offers the ambience of the food lamps (bring your sunglasses) or escorted to the end table that has five inches of space between the table that can accommodate groups of up to sixteen or more. I observed that two couples came after us and were each seated in booths that were not designated as "reserve" tables. Moving along to the food--I ordered pizza (second visit) which was okay but was cold by the time it arrived at the table. Not enough to merit a negative "review." Third time (and last) visit I ordered a fish sandwich. While I endorse the initiative of "source local"-- the bun did not compliment the size of the fish. It was soggy before I even took a bite. "Special sauce?" I think McD might have been a better choice. A watery catastrophe! And to think I needed to wait over 40 minutes as I saw customers who arrived after us receive their meal. Servers were exceptional but can they keep up the pretense of apologizing for the food?
A responsible and controlled atmosphere with exquisite food!
Food was definitely not up to par this evening. Waited a really long time for food. Salads came when the meals arrived. Food was not hot and some items over cooked.
Great food! Pizza knots are a must try and Monks Madness is excellent!! Cheers
My husband and I stopped in for dinner at the Pink Eyed Monk on October 23rd after landing in Lindsay for the night. Service was friendly, the food was decent, though there weren't many food options to accommodate my allergy (it's not a common one; garlic/onions/alium). We would definitely go back if in Lindsay again.
Held our company function there.....so much food. It was very good. Our group was upstairs in one of their party rooms. Didn't get the same selection of beers that they have downstairs...little disappointing but all and all great place, great food, great service.
we left after 15 minutes of being seated without service. Cat and Fiddle had great service...will go back to our regular hangout.
The in-house beers are very good. The mushroom pizza is THE BEST!!! the servers are great. And we got a quick lesson in IBU!
Always good. Always refreshing. Always friendly.
Great place to eat, drink and socialize. Safe place to be.
Pizza good
Really cool place! The aesthetic is nice with the older masonry, an impressive selection of drinks and some incredible food. Obsessed with how good the pickle chips were. The charcuterie board was a hit with others at the table. Love the vibe here. Definitely worth a shot in the dark and there's a strong argument for changing your plans!
First time today was pretty good, will probably try again soon.
Great food. Great beer. Outstanding staff. Clean. Fun. A perfect place for date night or a gathering with friends.
Really nice environment and good food. Little expensive for Lindsay but highly recommend
Great service and creative menu. Food was excellent and well presented.
Gorgeous and unique interior, top quality food, and an excellent selection of Craft Beer.
Booths were to small for a big guy to sit had to ask for a table, got our appetizers in timely manner but not our meal, garlic bread way overcooked and inedible service was excellent meals were just okay ,not bad a little bland next time will try the pizza instead of meat lovers ragu
Esander (the manager) was rude to the bride all night. He was using curse words to her when she was explaining things and just told the bride that she doesn’t need to speak to anyone that works at the brewery. The place itself is nice but I feel the manager did not handle things in the most appropriate way and should not be allowed to work in this new and beautiful establishment.
Saw the sign when we drove through Lindsay on the way to the cottage so we figured it would be a neat place to stop on the way home for dinner. We were correct. The old feel of the building was great, the dining room had a neat view to the brewery below. The bar stools were something from a steam punk novel, so cool. With three kids in tow places like these can be expensive but we felt we really got good value for the money. Craft sodas for $1 a piece satisfied the kids, the flight of beer was quite good. I especially enjoyed the black IPA, Angry Viking and the English IPA Blasphemous Rumours. The food was fantastic, from the pretzel to start to the perfectly cooked dry rubbed chicken wings. The Hawaiian Pizza from the wood fired oven was the perfect share for my wife and I. The smoked chicken poutine was very filling awesome serving size. This will become a mainstay on our cottage voyage and it's definitely worth the trip to Lindsay in and of itself.
Awesome as always
blah
Lunch
Fish and chips and veggie lasagna were very good. Tried the flight 15 sampler, all very tasty.
Best new spot in Lindsay. Food was stellar, management stellar and amazing atmosphere.
Meal type
Cool old building. Friendly staff, great food and good beer!
Great spinach dip and poutine! Warm atmosphere! Interestingly shaped lightbulbs over the bar!
This was my 4th time at the Pie Eyed Monk and as much as I want to say I enjoy it, I cannot, I was so very disappointed this time and will not be returning and the 15 people that were with me will not be either. I made the reservation for 17 people and I was told we would have to used the fixed menu. We were also going to be in the private back room. Great sounds awesome right! We got there and they were not ready for us at all. The back room was occupied with another party and the dining room was full except a table near the bar. A table of four did leave but that still did not leave enough room. Some of us were seated other remained standing and nearly a hour in they made an L shape table. It was uncomfortable, and we should of just sat at different tables because we basically were anyways. That was just the beginning 1 hour in of the 3 hours there. The server was good, but really should of had help with drink order and food orders. Helps with getting things going especially as we were there already 1.5 hours. It seems everytime we are there, two beers are usually off the menu, and mostly the popular ones. The beer to me are very hoppy, I am just not a fan, but there is people who enjoy the beer , which is great. The salads came out and the house salad was okay but a lot of vinegar, just not balanced. My sisters salad was so salty, it was inedible, she sent it back and they said it would be credited on her bill. It was not. The brisket was dry, but the flavor of the meat was good. If it had a dip with it, it would of made that sandwich. The steak was good, I like medium, but some people don't. Even if it is on the fixed menu people should get a decision on how they like their meat. Owner or staff should not choose that. All people are different. The pizza was not good. Again its pizza, people should be able to choose what they want. My sister asked for pepperoni and was told she could not have that.. Really!! The dessert was good, however radish sprouts and other stronger tasting sprouts do not belong with lemon sorbet, it was great without. Sometimes to much is not good. Our whole experience was over 3 hours. We could of ordered off the regular menu, like the 14 people near us who got their order first and were served and done well before us. The kicker was the tip, not that we would not of left one, just the fact that the amount was chosen for us and our experience was not great. Kind of a kick in the teeth. I get it's a new restaurant and there is so much work that needs to be done. The interior is stunning the concept is great. But, the owner should step back and manage in the back ground. A food manager should be the presence of the restaurant, they know their stuff, having someone who understands customer service and is unattached from the business, is such a benefit. More help means fast turnover. Faster turnover means more revenue. It can be such a great place it really can. But for me and my family this will be our last experience. I hope the future is bright for this restaurant, it is a good thing for Lindsay to have.
Great food, service a little slow but very friendly.
Pizza was amazing. Beer delicious. Lots of space, a great spot to check out in Lindsay
Great food, service, and atmosphere
I visited the Pie Eyed Monk on Oct 4/18 with my husband and a few friends. I thought the atmosphere and decor were great, the owners have clearly spent a lot of time and thought on it. The beer was decent, a little hoppy for my taste, but that is not the fault of anything but my taste buds. The staff was welcoming and friendly. My friends who ate all liked their food very much. I tried a pizza knot from a friend's plate and it was good. Now for the not so glowing part of my review. I had the fried fish po' boy sandwich and while it wasn't bad, it was merely all right and very bland. It had a chili lime aioli on it that was essentially tasteless, I ended up putting some hot sauce on it. One of the reasons I ordered it was that it had chili lime aioli on it and I was disappointed to not be able to taste it. So I was very underwhelmed by the meal. My only other complaint would be that the server took longer than what I think is acceptable to come back to ask if everything was ok. I know it's a fine line between too soon and too late, but I would suggest earlier is better than later. I will go back to give it another chance.
Great service. Pizza was amazing! Beer was really good. Check it out. It's worth the stop.
The pizza was good
Lovely lunch - the Black and Blue salad is particularly delicious, and the warm pretzel was great. Of course, the Murph's Irish Stout was top-shelf. I highly recommend the Pie Eyed Monk for its atmosphere, food and brewed-in-house beer! Wonderful staff as well!!
Aug 25, Still can say it's a nice change for Lindsay. I've been back many times since my first review. I have been to a few events and will be back for more! (Old from 2yrs ago)Good food, good beer, a nice change for Lindsay
We ate here July 7. The patio is well laid out with good space between the tables. Our server, Sam was pleasant, helpful and attentive. The food is imaginative, very tasty and plentiful. Their stout beer is one of the best we've had. I highly recommend this place.
Delicious food, good service! Pizza is filling and fresh!
At first impression this restaurant offers a rustic modern view .Barn beams ,gas pipes , brick and mortar make up a large percentage of the decor. Large booths , pub tables and a bar that seats 10 plus offers variety for any taste . Upbeat music continues throughout the evening , which makes for a social-romantic experience .A variety of beer is made in house and presented tastefully -all which tasted as good as they looked One of the owners approached our large group and offered his absolute promise of a flawless experience , a well noted and pleasant addition to most "manager " run restaurants. Most of our group ordered the wood fired pizzas , after observing the other customers had done the same. All came out very well dressed and attractively appointed. As a group of 11 on a Saturday night , we came expecting extended wait times for food and a high possibility of our food not being hot . All 11 pizzas came at the same time and hot to the touch -exceptional !!! In conclusion ,Great food, excellent prices , complimented by an upbeat enviroment and excellent service make this a good choice for families ,and parties alike . Salute
Pure class in Lindsay, finally!
There for Valentine's day. Service was slow. When our food arrived the waitress never came back until it was time for the bill when we were long done eating. Never had a chance to try other beers. We liked the beer we ordered at the start, but like I said the waitress never came back. Also, my brisket was good but was cold on arrival. Fries were over cooked. A little pricey.
A table of 10 of us all came out extremely full!! Great food!! Great service!!!
This place is great. Came into Lindsay for a night and stopped here for dinner. Will definitely be back, next time I'm in the area.
Great pizza.
Dinner
We have visited numerous times and they never disappoint.
Love this place! Definitely one of the best places to grab a bite to eat in Lindsay. The wood fired pizza is my favourite! Always delicious. The service is great, atmosphere is modern, and the food is fresh! Highly recommend!
Food was good, but not a ton of options. I had the pizza, very delicious but they do not allow you to create your own with the toppings they offer. Has to be from the premade selection only. The jerk beer can chicken was very good, and tender, a little dry but is served different than you'd expect (the chicken is pre cut up in the beer can itself) for two people we found it pricey for what you got. Service was okay, but the server could not hear us ordering over the loud, live entertainment. Not the best place for having any type of conversation while there is music going (we went for lunch on a Sunday, so did not expect it.)
Just had brisket sandwich for lunch and it was excellent. The service and atmosphere was top notch! I recommend this place to everyone looking for a great meal.
Had a great lunch here last week. The stout was wonderful and the spicy Hawaiian pizza is to die for. Can't wait to go back!
Great pizza, love the patio!!!
Cute atmosphere and delicious food!
The Saturday special was baby back ribs, cooked in a smoker with potato wedges and BBQ beans, definitely among the best ribs I have tasted.
Such a lovely spot. I will for sure be back with more people. Staff was so friendly. The atmosphere incredible. You have to go.
Waitress was incredible, forget her name but very kind and relatable. Made you feel very comfortable!
Quality of food is first class..prices are high but as a treat..love this place.
Great wings and pizza
Good food. Good beer. Servers are new but are quite attentive.
Dine in
Great wood-fired oven pizza!!
Excellent beer, pizza, and service.
Awesome local craft beer!
Beautiful restored space, great combination of the old and the new. We had the pizza knots which were not stingy on the cheese and the smokey bacon burger. The burger patty was dry but the flavour of the rest of the burger was good so I just chalked that up to one and patty. I am not a big beer drinker, sadly so I can't speak to the beer selection. We had the gluten free chocolate tort and carrot cake for dessert. Both were excellent. Overall, I recommend Pie Eyed Monk. A great experience.
Nice little gem if you're ever in Lindsay.
Went with a group of guys. Beer was cold. Music was great. Girls were plentiful. Life is good here. So go.
Loved the ambience, our server was great, I had the fish and chips and it was delicious. My husband and mother in law shared the Charcuterie platter with smoked meats and cheese and they loved that as well. We will definately go back.
Awesome atmospher, great food and Beer
Amazing beer, nice and knowledgeable staff, great food made with local ingredients by people who care.
Unique place, you wont find anything like it around! The wood fired oven pizza is one of my favourites!! We had our rehearsal dinner here last year and everyone enjoyed the food and different craft beer options! Highly recommend.
Artsy cool place with great food!
Great atmosphere, great staff, great beer and food. You can also buy some beer to go.
Stellar place - a wonderful new discovery
Great environment with really good food and tasty microbrewery bevies! Highly recommend
Great food, bevy and friendly servers. Renovated and clean. Decor is wonderful. Will definitely return to this location.
Four of us had dinner and the food was outstanding! The owners came over to say hi, the chef popped over and we met most of the staff during our visit-everyone was very welcoming! We tried a bunch of different apps and everyone tasted each other's meals and the food was outstanding (and then we were eveneven to have a mini tour of the entire brewery). I would highly recommend PEM and we will definitely be back! Lindsay is lucky to have such a cool place-this is the whole package!!
Great beer, great food, great pub. Staff are excellent.
Great service, good food.
Friendly and warm service. Good food.
I now have a new place to stop in at when I'm in Lindsay.
Great beers and really friendly staff.
Good food friendly staff, and beer was awesome
Pizza ok was slow getting it decor ok
The food was great and the server was really nice, did not love the mojitorita though.
No seating.
Service
Cool brewery in a historic building in Lindsay. Just what Lindsay needed. Will be back!
Great new restaurant and bar for Lindsay!! I like to give a new place a min to work out it's kinks and it was worth the wait! Pizza was amazing!! Flight option for beers is awesome! Always love that idea for breweries, and the presentation is gorgeous! Service was great, staff were very nice and attentive but not pushy. Great overall experience I'll be back for certain
Went to Lindsay the first time today. Me and my boyfriend luckily enough decided to stop by in this place. He had pizza, and I had a burger and fries. Best fries ever. we ate every single bit. I’m a huge craft beer but I was driving so forced my boyfriend to get the beer fligh. 5 beers for $15 with great recommendations from the waitress. Owner was walking around speaking to people which I love to see as if he cares that much this will go far. Was very shocked to find out it’s omly been open 1 month! You could never have guessed. Only thing I would improve on would be the greeting. It’s a little confusing as if we seat ourselves or we wait. However I know there was a party when we first came in so it’s understandable staff were busy. Keep it up!
really good. in love with the atmosphere
First time with friends, relaxed atmosphere, pizza and all our food was delicious, the staff are very pleasant and more than accommodating.
Awesome place Great food and great atmosphere Good variety, tasty salads, great burgers and Italian sone oven pizzas. Innovative looks at food. Very well done. Had an entertainer on the evening we dined there, fun evening. Would definitely go back...highly recommend. Reasonable pricing, huge beer and wine selection. Service was friendly and helpful!
Great beer, delicious pizza, never disappoints
A must go !! By far best restaurant in the Kawarthas!! Owners are amazing; food and beer are incredible!!!!! Always an incredible experience!!!!
Outstanding food with friendly service. An immaculate facility. Try the fried pickles. They are very creatively fried (almost like tempura) and sliced into chip-like medallions???? Recommend the pear cider too???? Pizza had a nice char on it, and it was full of flavour. Highly recommend this restaurant in Lindsay, ON
Drove from Toronto with a couple girl friends for lunch. The building is beautiful and decorated/accented very well. It makes you feel like you are in a trend upscale brewery. Great job! I was pleasantly surprised to meet the owner of the building. What a friendly and welcoming man. The way he talked about the place was inspiring. The waitress that served us was very friendly, knowledgeable. It was nice she recommended some great cocktails and food. The food was presented very well, I loved the orange bowl with my pasta. I enjoyed all the unique touches to the place, the silver matte rustic utensils are like nothing I’ve seen before. Completely stunning. When we were about to leave, I asked the server about the space upstairs. She was very nice and brought event coordinator over to our table. What a very vibriant and lovely girl she is. She was super kind and took us on a tour. It was great to hear some history about the building as seeing the remarkable venue space. My friends and I will definitely make the trip and come back. I will recommend you to everyone I know. The staff went above and beyond to make this expierence great. See you again soon. Aura Wood
Good service, relaxed atmosphere great food!
Excellent food and service. Very upscale dining.
delicious food. great atmosphere. obviously a lot of work went into the menu and brew selection.
I want to love this place, I really do. It's like the guy you go on a date with because on paper everything seems perfect. Then you meet him and it's a bit of letdown (and in some ways a total disaster). The atmosphere is nice, and the servers are great. I've been here twice to give it a real chance and my opinion didn't change from one visit to another. They have the makings of a great place but the food is the biggest letdown of all. First visit was a quick stop to share some fried pickle slices and a pizza before a movie. The pickles were bland and tasted of oil. I'm no chef but the cause of this is trying to deep fry in oil that is not hot enough. Instead of crisping up, the pickle slices absorb the oil. They were gross but we picked at them and had our pizza... we had ordered the "Red White and Green" which was overpriced and the dough was undercooked to my liking. It did not have the delicious wood fired flavour you expect if you have had a proper wood fired oven pizza before. Second and likely last visit, we shared the Luau Pig pizza. It was ok but my best guess is that they use canned pineapple. Uh, for $20, you might want to splurge on fresh. We had also tried to start with the "pizza knots". They were so bad we sent them back. Ours arrived doughy, with bland oil drizzled on top and a sad sprinkling of parm (which again, best guess, not fresh grated). Oh and I'm pretty sure they forgot the "angry pizza sauce" altogether so we couldn't even hide the pathetic attempt at a ball of cooked dough. In short, we sent those back. The server was absolutely amazing to deal with and she took our feedback in a professional manner. Kudos to her. Had she not dealt with it so well we would have abandoned the evening before our entrees arrived. The details are completely being overlooked here. It's a total shame. I hope the owners read reviews and make changes accordingly. Otherwise it will be a long time before a go back to spend any money on frozen store bought quality pizza.
Poor service, long wait times, waitress not available for second round of drinks. Meat pizza had 8 pieces of meat on it. Very disappointed. Have heard from many people this establishment has gone downhill since opening. We need good places in Lindsay. WHAT'S UP !
Stumbled upon this place when passing through Lindsay, unfortunately we had just eaten but went in and split an order of wings and had a couple of half pints. Even the lightest of the draught selections were too bitter imo and there isn't much in the way of bottled beer offerings but the smoked wings were tasty and the pizza's looked fantastic! We're planning on a drive to Pie Eyed Monk for a pizza lunch soon.
Nice venue, very expensive.
Great location, great food, really good beer
One of tue best place after lock down i attended with super tasty Nachos and wonderful server Andrea... Guys if you are visit this place please ask for Andrea as your server as she was the best for the time we spent at this bar
You always want a new local place to be good. Anyone who takes significant risk to invest in a small town should be rewarded with a loyal following. However, it still has to be earned. Starting with making a reservation, OpenTable didn’t make it easy. To first-timers, what is the counter? Different from the bar? No options for tables? Does that mean it is sold out? Technology is great if it is used correctly. But maybe that it is not the way to get what you want with PEM. Once you arrive, the host staff appears pretty disorganized. No eye contact, no acknowledgement of your presence. Just preoccupation with a seating app that appeared beyond the current ability to manage. Once noticed and reservation announced, moved to a highboy that was kind of an afterthought and really hard to get in and out of. Table had some leftover drill holes that completed the feeling that it was a leftover and so were we. Orders taken but no information exchange on, “this is great or this is almost gone.” “You been here before?” Focus was on what beer is available and that was a good sign of where the emphasis was. Special turned out to be sold out and alternatives had to be chosen. Once again, no help choosing. Pizza was definitely crispy but good. The Hunter’s Fusilli (?) was bland and a bit dry. No salt or pepper within site. The big “hunk” of congealed pasta in the centre was not appetizing. How it got out of the kitchen unrecognized is difficult to understand. I understand that extras are extras. At $22 a plate, that is a premium price and you should get a premium plate or side or extra. The 3 pizzas buns were 10 minutes in arriving and 1.5 were inedible due to over-baking. The bill did not add up due to the advertised pizza special not being calculated in. Apologizes and an explanation of not having served for a while and out of practice were fine but did not do much to change the theme of the evening. The beer was good and is understandably the drawing card. However, the competition for the premium dollar is always strong especially when you factor in driving. If you have to drive somewhere and can only have a couple of beer in an evening, you have a lot alternatives, even in and around Lindsay. We will try them again and see how things have changed … or not.
Service was great. Price a little high and then add on 18% service charge for tip. I don't appreciate that, as I tip when appropriate. Won't return
I have no idea where any bad review could come from. The food is the best around, bar none. The beer is good and atmosphere suitable. The owner (Aaron) comes around to ensure everything is satisfactory. This place would be a knock out in downtown Toronto. Open up your palate with the duck pizza -amazing. Good quality for a good and fair price Nothing bad to say, you gotta try it!
What a fantastic find! My husband and I booked a table for lunch when we knew we’d be passing through town on business. Expectations exceeded on all fronts: The space, the service, the food, and the beer - all great. Excellent salads signalled we were in for a treat and our thin crust pizzas were divine. The restaurant was hopping but safety protocols were spot on and the service friendly and faultless. Shoutout to our server, Pam. We will be back!
Excellent food excellent service wish I could give it 100 stars if I could .
Reviews are right... Brisket was dry and service was slow. This place has such potential, draught beer was the highlight.
Yesterday I was in the restaurant having dinner with a few friends, We were served by Andrea. Unfortunately as good as the food was the service was so subpar that it ruined our experience. Service was very slow and it took us over 35 minutes to order food. Perhaps there wasn’t enough servers or something. But when we addressed this with Andrea she said “ it’s not me it’s the kitchen” even though the food was out promptly once we finally order. Not sure if it was just a bad night to go but it was not the greatest experience. I work at the keg and have been in the industry for 10 years. I watched Andrea bill two tables while we waited 35 minutes to order. I know for a fact that the people being billed should have been put as less of a priority then the table of five all having multiple drinks and food items. I'm not sure if this lady just didn't want to serve us or what but it was not a great attitude towards guests who were spending at least $50 each. Her response to us when we asked about the food was so rude. Tbh I was polite because I know what its like to serve while the rest of my friends were a little frustrated and I'm sure the server noticed because she then proceeded to only talk to me asking me "how's everyone's food?" and again asking me " is everyone ready for their bills" I'd really appreciate someone to address this as we will be back in the area multiple times this summer and would like to be able to enjoy the awesome food.
Large outdoor patio in downtown Lindsay. Good pub food! I would recommend making a reservation using open table rather than trying to get a seat at the door- much more efficient.
Service
Went here for a Christmas work party, 14 of us in total. Food came our hot and delicious! Beer was fantastic! Gorgeous place and the service we received from beginning to end was incredible. Definitely recommending this place!
Wow!! The pasta was FANTASTIC!! A great environment!! We took the whole family. Definitely going again!!
I've been here twice now: once with my family for lunch and most recently for Fish Fry night and was not disappointed with the spread. Whole rainbow trout, three yellow perch fillets, and about 15 fried smelt fillets with accompanying fries, homemade slaw, and amazing homemade baked beans. The friendly and informative staff were very familiar with all of the craft brews on tap and assisted me in selecting my pint for the evening. Would highly recommend this local gem to anyone in a heartbeat.
Awesome beer! Awesome food!
You gotta go! We were on a cycling weekend from Uxbridge, staying the night in Lindsay and went to Pie Eyed Monk for lunch. Great beer, the flights were fun pizza tasty and patio amazing! The owner, Aaron stops by our table and tells about his event, Drag bingo in celebration of Pride month. Aaron and his wife Lisa are great people. Aaron offered to pick us up from our hotel to bring us back for Drag bingo.we had an amazing evening! SO MUCH FUN! Thanks Aaron offers to drive us back. Best bike trip ever. Thank you Aaron, we will be back and the Pie Eyed Monk should be on everyone's list to stop by while in Lindsay.
This place is incredible! There is nowhere like it in Lindsay! The food is delicious, the service is impeccable, the drinks are fun and know how to hit the spot!! This is the place to eat if you are in the Kawarthas.
Great staff the oysters we had were awesome
Great service, cold beer and delicious food. What else do you need!!
When a restaurant offers specials, your bill should reflect the special price not be charged full price. I should have checked the bill at the restaurant instead of at home afterward. I even heard another customer complain to the waitress about the same thing. I guess this is standard practice here. Stupid to have tables sitting empty waiting for reservations for hours. Most restaurants Want to turn over tables to make money not have them sit empty.
Both the beer and the food were great! And the service was friendly!
Beer was honestly delicious and the food was FANTASTIC
.fish was over cooked and dry .linguine not.used spagetti noodles .french onion soup needs to be addresses asap..awful .the burger..nothing special
Meal type
We tried a couple of really good craft beers, and our food was sooo delicious. Really cozy atmosphere and friendly staff. We'll definitely be back! ☺️
Three couples all old friends were meeting for our first dinner together in while. We choose Lindsay as it is central for everyone. It came down to two restaurants. One had a more diverse menu than the other. So, now it was time to check reviews. The first places reviews were not good. This was six old friends that just wanted to make an enjoyable evening. We choose the Pied Eyed Monk and we had a great night. Brandon our server was great.
An amazing place to go. We have been a few times just for the pizza, but stayed for flights of their beers. Their pizzas are perfect and a good price. Their veggie fries are also a must order; beets, parsnip, and sweet potato all in one. Their beers are delicious, especially if you appreciate a nice stout.
Great atmosphere, nice menu selection, good beer choices, we had a pizza and salad - both very tasty. Make a reservation for dinner!
Beer not to my taste and food not what u expect from a restaurant. Service was great but thats it.
Not a craft beer lover, but the food and service was good. Pizza wasn’t what I expected, I would ask for well done next time.
Fantastic little spot in Lindsay Ontario. Everything from the food, service, price point, beer :), and the atmosphere was on point. I'll definitely be back there to sample some more of their beverages.
Very good service an lots of good craft beer
Menu very innovative but just not my palate.
Always stop in on my way through. Good pizza, good beer, friendly service. I picked up a bunch of pizza to go and they were a hit!!
We ordered a smoked pull pork garden salad and a bacon cheese burger with oatmeal stout( dark craft beer). The food was great, the beer was just okay.. a bit blend. overall the atmosphere and staff were great and friendly. I’d love to come back in summer to enjoy the patio.
Great atmosphere and the food was great. Service very friendly will most certainly be back. Rabbit enchaladas excellent.
Great food, awesome beer even better environment!
Best pizza I've had in a long time. And great beer.
Rude staff and the management is just terrible. Some people will love it if they have no life skills. Update: see how nice this owner is. I'll let your reply to speak for itself ????
Fantastic place. Good beer and pizza!
Good food great beer choices
Great place to enjoy some craft beer and great pub style food. The expanded patio is fantastic, lots of place for shade or sun depending on your preference and plenty of space between tables. Staff were very friendly and all safety measures were followed. We had the nachos, which were amazing, poutine and margarita pizza. All the food was delicious, my kids and I really enjoyed or trip to Lindsay. We will be back.
Awesome place!
Had the pleasure of having Josie cater us tonight and she was amazing! Extremely professional and kind. Will definitely be coming back!
Went when they first opened, and honestly wasn't that great... couldn't understand the ingredients or what I was ordering, buuuuut now they have things right!! Menu was amazing. The food I got was awesome, they've totally turned it around my waitress was awesome.. I have no complaints now, and tbh it's no more expensive than going to Boston Pizza or kelseys...
Finally a chill spot in Lindsay for a young professional! Tonight was a refreshing, delicious experiance! From the great server (Sabrina) to the amazing food I am so impressed! Wow, consider me a regular!! The pizza is to die for, the pasta was comparable to Italy and the drinks were on point!
On top of excellent brews and tasty food, the management appears to be highly present, attentive and helpful.
It's good
Great food. Good ambers. Must visit when around Lindsay!
Service was great! Food was delicious and hot. Nice atmosphere!
Will try again but this time we were disappointed
Fun spot to grab a drink with friends! Didn't try to the food but it looked and smelled good!
Many of my favourite things in one place... good food, beer (brewed on site) and gelato (also made on site). Friendly service to boot!
I really loved this place. The atmosphere, food and staff was excellent. This is definetly a place we will be going again.
Met my brother for lunch - great patio - good food and good beer - great service! Would recommend it for sure!
Very nice inside. Very expensive. Small drinks.
Great food and service!
Dinner
Nice decor but that's it. Horrible beer and pizza. Expensive and super small drinks. Never ever again
Food selection poor ,beer wet nice place waitress good poor menu selections hardly any selection at all .
Good food, nice atmosphere.
Great beer, great food, great service. Your missing out if you don't try it out!
The food was very good, the service was great and the beer was tasty. I can’t wait to go back.
Excellent everything, so good.
A great place to stop for a beer and some pizza! We grab a bite to eat whenever we pass through. I would recommend it!
I loved it
Excellent food and service. One of the nicest spots in downtown Lindsay. Could use a better IPA selection.
Outside and inside decor is beautiful! Much to see and enjoy. VERY loud! Kitchen staff wore no beard nets and all 4 had beards. Man with grey beard rubbed his nose twice, kept working. Much coughing, no one left to wash their hands?! Food was ok, tiresome after a few bites. Garlic toast or bread needs to be served with the Carbonara. Dessert was small, ordered the Monk cake. Water jug had a bad taste, either not washed properly or disinfected ? This place did not check all the boxes off for me. I left disappointed.
Great service (following all COVID procedures) & very friendly! Great pizzas! Small list of 7 or so beers to choose from but they're all delicious - get a flight and hit the bottle shop on the way out.
The owner of this place is a really nice guy, and the restaurant/beer/food is great. The event manager on the other hand was extremely uncooperative, made me feel uncomfortable, and treated my husband and I very poorly whilst we had our reception there.
Great beer and food!
Great place for any occasion
The beer is terrible. The spot is very nicely setup. The food is average. The price markup is high. Avoid.
Rustically Signed above the Pie eyed Monk. Amazing pub restaurant. Great time making projects on the third floor. Check it out!
Had lunch on a sunny fall day.out on the patio. Nice spot with excellent service, food and beer. Will be back.
Pretty good beer, it’s not flashy like some microbrewers try to be, I think unpretentious is the word, but it’s really good
Amazing food, great micro beer and perfect service
Love this place! The food is amazing, the decor is uhnique and wonderful and the staff are so friendly and skilled.
The Pie Eyed Monk is an attempt at a craft brewery that offers 8 different beers. Firstly, the decor was excellent and inviting and the staff where very friendly. Unfortunately, the beer offerings left a lot to be desired in the flavor department. Many of the offerings where not well balanced with overly bitter hops or with very strong flavor of malt extract. This brewery has a lot of potential but needs guidance from an experienced brewmaster to truely shine.
Wont eat here again
If I could give it zero I would. Wait times are long even when the place is fairly empty. Clueless staff. Wimpy food, damp pasta and charred pizza. Their beers are a disgrace to craft brewing at a time when the market has never been hotter. To top it off, the owners were present and that was a shame. The husband was brisk and trashy, commenting that any "man who doesn't like a rare burger isn't a man welcome here." Sexist and homophobic. His wife didn't have any more class and I heard her swearing and gossiping with the bartender. This place is not doing Lindsay any justice and I won't be attending again.
Such a great place to go! Service and food....amazing!
Went for a dinner date and came out happy. More on the expensive side. We got a seat viewing into the kitchen and saw how much care they put into their food. Everything looked delicious. Drinks: Peach Iced Tea, refreshing Blasphemous Rumours, hoppy, good Dinmer:Lindsay Smoked Meat, good amount of meat, flavorful but the mustard did over power at times which I liked. Fish and Chips, breading had lots of flavour but very crispy, fish was very tasty, chips were very crispy but good, slaw was creamy and delicious. Too full for dessert but saw some of them being made and they looked very scrumptious. We are definitely going back for another dinner and will bring friends!!!
greatest thing ive ever had
Disappointed would be an understatement. Booked in for Dinner and Axe throwing, and recieved neither. Great idea and what could have been a fabulous event turned too nothing less than a mediocre night. We left after waiting OVER an hour and only seeing our waitress once, one drink and order taken and she never reappeared. We would have at least made the best of the evening had we at least recieved some drinks but apparently that was even too much to ask. Clearly understaffed and completely disorganized. An evening out that we very rarely get, we decided on your establishment and your event to end up with grocery store food (we weren't going axe throwing at 930 without eating dinner). I've never walked out of an establishment and I can honestly say we will never be back.
Great food and great staff. Very friendly and prices are very fare
Fantastic food and service. Will definitely return!
Awesome food choices !
I love this place. The beer is good the Duck season pizza is a 10 and the staff are excellent. The owner Aaron was very friendly and took a great deal of interest in his patrons. I will make a point of visiting this establishment the next time I come to the GTA for work.
Bartenders were wonderful, manager was extremely rude to the bride the entire evening. Would not recommend in the future.
Pizza and wings were rushed when it was not busy. Not a great meal
Fantastic food!! Amazing staff!! Beautiful environment!! A must try!!
Amazing beer, food, & people! How many places can you go nowadays where you are greeted and treated like GOLD by the owners? Can't say enough good stuff about this team. This place is a "must try!" ☀️ (Plus, there's a patio!)
Ordered proseco and it was flat ... They charge too much for drinks, the food is bland and the service is very slow... It’s too bad as they have all they need to be successful but just not putting the pieces together ... The prime seating area with street view is taken by the brewing vats. The staff is simply not concerned with their clients. As a former bartender and waitress, this part is very important and seriously lacking ...
Awesome lunch and atmosphere!!
Food was tasty. Server was great! Food came fast. Covid conscious restaurant.
Nice spot for beers and pizza in a cute little town. Really liked the DGHA and Second Act beers and wished they were colder. Have tried the Make Your Own pizza and were happy. Thin crust, quality ingredients, and nice flavour. What we appreciated most was Josie’s 5 stars service. As for beers, Josie, made a great recommendation based on my preference. She also volunteered to take a picture of my hubby and I and then, grabbed the bottle of water and stuff from the table to make a super neat photo. Josie kept checking on us frequently, was very diligent, and all in all, made our experience very pleasant. Thank you Josie!
Great food and staff
Food was ok, a little pricey for what it was but still very nice atmosphere
Excellent food and beer. They were welcoming to my big dog which always makes me happy.
Came here with my parents and we all enjoyed! Variety of beer and wines, creative and refreshing menu. The atmosphere was lovely very comfortable setting. The owner was walking around making sure every table felt welcomed. Working in the restaurant industry it's all about the little things. Try the hillbilly charcuterie board and the dirty bird beer. Thank you we will be back.
This place is fun and great looking inside. Just had drinks but food looked great.
Love this place. Classy. Delicious stone-fired pizza oven. Great craft beer. Perfect pre-Musky game eatery. Superb service. Can't recommend it enough.
I’m actually disgusted by the review from the patron that decided that rules about wearing a mask didn’t apply to them. Our family was there during this incident and you were nothing but rude. These establishments have been through hell and back. There are signs posted everywhere and to write a bad review of a restaurant based on them following provincial guidelines is sick. The food was fantastic our waitress was amazing. I’m sorry you didn’t have the same experience because you chose not to follow guidelines.
this place IS AWESOME! First there is smoked pizza but its cooked Homeade! And theres so much good things that you should try when you go, trust me it's awesome.
Great Experience. The atmosphere is very well done, quite comfortable and not overly loud (however it was a Monday eve when we were there). The food was fantastic, especially the Pizza. Highly recommended!
Food was good, but was disappointed as we came for the pretzels and particular kind of beer for a special time and both were out!!
Good things - nice atmosphere, friendly waitress. Bad things - beer is too pricey, food is pricey, service was slow (still fairly new so I understand somewhat) I hate that they try to trick you with the tip percentage on the machine, 15% is gone, now 17%. I was gonna give 20% but when I saw that I went down to 15%.
Years ago, in the very early days of brewpubs, I noticed that they almost always had innovative menus as well as interesting beers (and flights). So whenever I travel, I usually check brewpubs as my first pick for dining. As I did today in lindsay. Wow .. Pie Eyed Monk Brewery came through in all areas .. beer, menu, all the food I tried, friendly service, gorgeous building, lovely patio. Highly recommended. I had the smoked wings and caesar salad and flight, and hope to be back tomorrow for wood oven pizza
Gorgeous place for a date with good company. The food is excellent. Thanks Chef Marc, will be back again.
Second visit and it was even better than the first. New favourite restaurant!
Can not comment on food as what we wanted to order was not available. They did not mention menu items were not available untill after we ordered drinks. Ended up leaving and going to Kelsey's ... Thanks for the reply and I totally understand fresh food and running out. What was wrong was no one told us untill after we ordered drinks.
Pretty amazing environment. Great food great times to be had
This place has great ambiance, good food, beer and service. Decent prices and selection.
More than satisfying. Food was delicious, Brooke - our waitress - was super professional and friendly, reasonable waiting time, great ambiance, clean place, tasty beer. Go give it a shot!!!
The idea for a craft brewery in Lindsay with homemade food was excellent. Unfortunately the P.E.M leaves much to be desired. The atmosphere is pretentious and unprofessional. It feels like the the owners playground as opposed to a comfortable and welcoming brew pub/restaurant. To add on top of that, the open kitchen is a mood killer. Listening to kitchen staff argue and yell six feet away from you is not an appetizing experience. Despite the abrasiveness, I decided to try the overpriced and under inspired menu. Not only was the food poor and not worth the value, but it was met with a flat, room temperature beer. It feels like the Pie Eyed Monk spent more time and money on their brand and esthetics than they did putting together a menu or hiring competent staff. They clearly do not care for their customers. In conclusion, P.E.M is excellent at one thing. Being run by someone with little to no experience in the food or customer service industry.
The porkchops were excellent! Thank you!
Prices seem high for a small town location. I hope they can stay in business, but I don't see the locals going there. Lunch was good.
Delicious drinks, delicious lunch and a great and attentive server-what more could a girl want!
Had a reservation for 12 last night and had the best time. The atmosphere, service, beer, and pizza were fabulous. We ordered 11 pizzas and they came out warm and not soggy at exactly the same time. The owners introduced themselves to each table at the restaurant and genuinely cared about our experiences. Would recommend this brewery to anyone!
Great place - an assortment of beers to sample and great food
Nice place to dine
Food was amazing, service was even better! Thank you Mary-Beth and Pie Eyed Monk for my first great experience!
Our first time . We really enjoyed the food and drinks. Definitely will be returning soon.
We had 2 pizzas that had next to no meat on either one. They needed to be cooked longer and for a wood oven pizza they had no flavour. Really dissapointing because we like the place .The fish sandwich we also ordered could have had bigger piece of fish. For the price you pay for this food I would expect better . Wow just got a reply back from Pye Eyed Monk thanking me for review. No sorry , no nothing for the $150.00 bucks I spent that night for a really bad meal for all. This helped make up my mind not to return for sure now.
Beer was nasty service was slow and food was boring nothing I could of made at home too pricey 3.50 for pop... lol
First time here, started off with a beer flight - Very impressed with the tasty selection. Then took the staff’s recommendation on the pizza special of the day for a try - delicious. It was the pulled pork, sausage and pepper pizza. Well decorated & up-beat music. The staff was very welcoming and very friendly. Will grab some beers to go. ????????
nice to be back...
Great place to meet your family. Great house beer selection, fantastic pizza and wonderful staff. One of the best places to eat in Lindsay.
Truly fantastic!!!! The food is delightful- meat smoked on site, pizza dough made in house, creative twists on comfort food that are wonderfully relishes and even better service. Truly a great find while on our vacation. The beer is really wonderful and drinkable ( bring some home!) and we’ll certainly be returning for the food, beer and service. Bravo- one of the highlights of our later-covid dining experiences
Just had our anniversary dinner there and it was fantastic. From the ease of booking the reservation, to the attentive and friendly staff, to the delicious food and brews, an awesome experience all around. Lindsay is truly lucky to have such a gem of a spot!
Loved it
Atmosphere too bright. Food was very bland.
Awful service. Not kind, nor attentive. Asked for a half pint and they charge for a full!
I am in love, Bravo! Absolutely Delicious! I will Definitely be back for more! Thank you.
We hosted a staff Christmas party here, and it was amazing! Delicious food, great service and a beautiful venue. They made it easy for us from the very beginning. Will be back next year!
Nice atmosphere, the blonde was tasty.
Had a rough experience tonight. I have been here a few times and never had a problem but I guess they were not prepared for the Saturday night rush? Restaurant was not full but still had to wait almost an hour to get food after being seated. Seemed a little long. The worst part was that we were served our flight 45min before our food and weren't notified there might be a long wait for the food. People who arrived after us by 15min were asked to order before us. Last thing that rubbed me the wrong way is that when I get poor service I usually will stick to the 15 percent tip (still being generous and understanding of how waitresses make a living) but the 'machine' only gives and option for 17 or 20. lovely. Will try the spot again just hoping they figure out their staffing situation. Probably just a bad night at an otherwise great establishment.
Great service, lots of laughs and a great environment to eat and enjoy family time! 10/10
The house Beer is horrible, food ok, nothing to rave about. Lots of other mom and pop shops around that have better food at a good price.
Not great. We were escorted to a picnic table to eat dinner. The very young hostess disappeared before we could object. There were other tables available. We finally got a better seat but then waited a very long time to actually have a meal. On the other hand, our server was great, the food was quite good and the craft beer was excellent. All in all, it was ok, could have been better. Challenging times for the industry, trying to get and train staff during the pandemic.
Seemed a little pricey for Lindsay but food was fantastic and lots of brew choices. A wonderfully renovated building and very cozy Atmosphere. I had smoked wings which were fantastic and 2 others had pizza. Also delicious.
Great pizza a must try (wood fire oven)
This place is highly overrated. Maybe because there are not many restaurant options in Lindsay. Beer is ok, nothing special but food is underwhelming and overpriced. Our party of 5 ordered a variety and food that all left us pretty dissatisfied. The wild funghi pizza is wrongly advertised on their menu, claimed to have porcini mushrooms (only reason I wanted to try it) but it only had the cremini and shiitake which are more common and least expensive. The pasta dishes were all bland with cheap ingredients and the starters were simple boring pub food.
Great place to go for different beers and food options. There are daily chefs menus and seasonal beers. Friendly staff and rustic charm.
Went to an even upstairs had a great time.
Dine in
Had our Christmas staff party here and it was amazing in every respect. Food, staff atmosphere was absolutely fantastic.
Good food expensive beer
Awesome pizza and cider!
I was there for an event which was excellent. The restaurant looked very cozy and the patrons looked happy so I assume that was as good as the event I was at.
Great food nice service happy people
Went there for dinner and was sorely disappointed. The french fries were no more than crusty over cooked scraps from the bottom of the fry basket and the smoked brisket was seriously overcooked and dried out. I stopped to speak to one of the owners on the way out, ( the woman with the mohawk hair cut) but she was more interested in drinking than in looking after customers. Very disappointing experience.
Great food and beer.
Very nice place.
Everything was great...our server was so nice, the chef, who'd unfortunately leaving is top notch. Why isn't the place busier?
My friend and I ate here today for the first time. The ambiance was perfect, nice patio, live music. I ordered pizza and an American Pale Ale both were outstanding. Aaron came by and introduced himself and told us a little about the beers. I had a great time and I will definitely be back.
Joan was excellent! Atmosphere was great (trendy). I can see why when busy some may find it noisy but the food and beer overall was phenomenal!
Not great
