I would like to start out that I have lived in kamloops for 17 years and this is my first bad review of a restaurant. My husband wanted to be the hero and bring us home Thai food which is lacking in kamloops, we were both tired from work. We did have a wonderful Thai restaurant on the north shore but unfortunately they moved back to Thailand. We were very excited to try this restaurant. Well as you can see by the pictures it was lacking in portions to say the least (we paid $35) the green curry was not creamy and lacking flavour, the coconut rice was lacking coconut and the 4 spring rolls we got were out of a box and overly deep fried. So yes as we know COVID has been hard on these restaurants so we called and explained that we were disappointed. He said that I have never had Thai green curry and I didn't know what I was talking about. I informed him (the manager) that indeed I did and said I spent 2 years in Thailand. He asked me where and I named off at least 5 places I have been to. He was shocked and said well this is how we make it and too bad we didn't like it. We are very decent people he could of offered a different dish or something but the customer service was terrible. We will never return and will be sure to let everyone we know to stay away!!! P.S. I never asked for free food I asked for him to make it right. Read the other reviews of the green curry it's terrible. I support local I'm a good person. This man was arrogant and and does not care about customer service or the quality of his food!! My advice is to Pinterest authentic green curry and make it yourself. There were 3 pieces of chicken a few pieces of veggies. Lack of service and quality makes this a bad choice considering what amazing restaurants are available on kamloops.

Stopped in for lunch and was able to sit down right away. The waiter was extremely friendly and helpful answering our questions about the menu. The food was delicious and if you order one dish with a side of rice it can easily feed to people (at least for lunch). This is a great stop in Kamloops for Thai food and I can see it becoming very popular. Good food. Good atmosphere. Poor parking but that is a downtown issue. Do yourself a favor and stop in here.

Great food, and the owners are a very nice couple. We ordered the shrimp fried rice, chicken pad thai and chicken curry and were not disappointed. My only constructive critique is that the portion of the rice could be a little more for the price. Otherwise, we will definitely come back again!

Ordered the spicy chicken soup, it was absolutly disgusting. Just the broth tasted awful, there was barely any chicken, it was not spicy at all, it was filled with mushrooms, and it was 15$ with tax and tip (takeout). Plus it was the size of an entree, they market this soup as a main course meal. Won’t be back. Steer clear if you value your money & stomach!

I really dont think the food here is reasonable about the taste, the portion, and the price. Totally disappointed. Never tasted such a terrible Thai food like this before. The portion is way too small for what I paid for. I have never ordered a curry which doesn’t come along with rice. This is the first time and the last time ever. Btw, with that small portion, you should serve them inside smaller containers, otherwise they looks so poorly and unacceptably.

Another excellent meal at Krob Krua! If you have not tried the red curry...you should! The ingredients are fresh, the heat is to your specification and it is always delicious - just like I had it in Thailand!! This family owned and run business is not to be missed. Service from the owner is professional, courteous and friendly and the meals are delicious. Yes, all of these things and more are what brought me to Krob Krua twice in 4 days! :-) Tip: Give the vanilla ice cream with Thai tea glaze a try. You won't regret it!❤❤

Ordered take away for the family here and everything was tasty. It did take a while to pull everything together but once it was ready, everything was good. We ordered pad Thai, green curry, panang curry and some tom yum soup. Everyone enjoyed the food. Lots of flavor and friendly,family spot.

Very mediocre Thai food. Flavors of different dishes were not very distinct. Almost no protein on any of the dishes. We ordered 4 main dishes for 2 and left hungry. Have had way better Thai food. Servers were very nice.

After taking cooking classes in Thailand, we don't order Thai food often as we prefer to make it ourselves. Today was an exception. Ordered chicken pad thai, tom yum soup, chicken with basil, and shrimp red curry. The portions are a bit on the smaller side, curries quite mild in terms of spice, and food a bit on the pricier side (subtotal was $63, no rice), BUT, the food is delicious. Shrimp was plump and juicy, cooked perfectly. The pad thai was not too greasy and had the perfect amount sauce with the right flavorings. The red curry was packed with fresh vegetables and wasn't too sweet, which is often the case. If you like your thai food on the spicier side, request that it be made more spicey as the default is quite mild. We will definitely be ordering from here again!

Update This is now my fave place to eat in Kamloops. Lil over priced but the food is extremely good quality and the owner and staff could not be nicer pple. The curry is dialled in perfectly now and they get the spice just right. Genuine Thai food from Thai pple :)

Ordered the basil chicken and I got carrots in my basil chicken who puts carrots in the Basil chicken obviously the cook never had real thai basil chicken and the chicken was such a small portion, thanks anyways

Severely disappointed! After seeing all the positive reviews and being told by a few people to give it a try, my significant other and I decided to give it a shot. We purchased 2 entrees, 1 Appy, and a side of rice. You would think that would be a decent amount of food? Especially for the $50 price point for 2 people. Yet we left not filled. We aren't bit eaters and don't have large portion sizes at home, so for us to not be full was a big disappointed. The flavours as well, were just not there. The Pad Thai was missing the tang of tamarind, the sweetness of caramelized palm sugar and the saltiness of dried shrimp. It tastes no different than a Pad Thai anywhere else. The curry was lackluster and once added to rice, couldn't stay fragrant enough to flavour the rice. The shrimp Appy was alright overall, bland, the only upside was the dipping sauce which gave it it's flavor. All in all, we won't be coming back. We were very disappointed that we could make better Thai flavours in our own kitchen or save or Thai cravings for a trip to the lower mainland.

I've been working in & out of Kamloops for the past 2 summers, staying for 7-11 days a stint. Every time I've been here, the food has been great, as has been the service. Whether I get take-out to eat back in my room or dine-in with work colleagues, Cam has never disappointed anyone I've known that has eaten there. Yes, the portions tend to be a bit on the smaller side, but you get what you pay for and the quality for everything I've ever eaten (flavour!) has been top notch. This is as authentic Thai as you can get. Thailand has always been my favourite country to travel for food so it's nice to be able to experience something like this in Kamloops - even better than many of the Thai restaurants throughout Vancouver! Always look forward to eating here and introducing friends to Thai cuisine as well!

Came here on a Friday evening around 7PM, was seated in a booth. I had looked at the menu online before we went, so I was surprised not to see pad kee mao on the menu. I asked about it and was told their menus in the restaurant get updated every year so it's not on there but they do make it. I also asked what other dishes aren't on their menu in the restaurant and was told basil stir-fry with chicken and a dish that tastes like pad kee mao. We decided to get pad kee mao and basil stir-fry with shrimp. Then we proceeded to wait probably half an hour for the food to finally get to us, that was pretty ridiculous. The waiter came by once to tell us our food is coming but it really wasn't at that point. When it did come, there was no apology. The pad kee mao was definitely not pad kee mao - it was cooked using pad thai noodles (thin rice noodles) as opposed to flat wide rice noodles, and the flavor was basically black pepper with ginger. That is not pad kee mao. It tasted fine, but it's not pad kee mao. The basil stir-fry was so watery and the portions were small, just had maybe 7 shrimp, some green beans, onions, and carrots. The flavor was fine, but it was so so so watery. I was not very happy with this place at all. The bill came out to be around C$30 which is fine, but definitely would not recommend it.

We went to this family run Thai restaurant for dinner on our first night in Kamloops. We ordered the Pad Thai Gai (chicken), vegetable spring rolls and Panang Gai. Everything was very tasty, service was very warm and friendly from the husband owner. He even gave us some tips about places to go on our way to Sun Peaks the next day. We highly recommend this place if you like authentic Thai food with a smile!

Fantastic food! We had the Panang curry and garlic pepper shrimp stir fry. Good portions, great value and absolutely delicious. As it was their second night of being open, the place was packed which meant things took a bit longer than i imagine they will once they've been going longer but we were in no rush and the wait was worth it!

Amazing food, great staff and quick service. Spice level if you do not like spice or only like a little spice I suggest a spice level of 0 as a 1 is spicey but not to bad if you like spicey food. The coconut ice cream so good and a great way to cool the spice after eating. The Thai iced tea very tasty as well. All in all great experience.

Good taste. Less than average quality. Ordered the Green curry and it was more of a soup than a curry. drained the sauce from the meal to try and simmer it and thicken it up but it didn't help much. I think the only thing I really accomplished was concentrating the spice. Was hoping a good thai place would open up after the last one shut down. Guess I'm still waiting.

We have ordered take out several times and always enjoyed it and they are fast and pleasant to order from. This was our first time dining in. They had great decor, very attentive staff, and the food is even more delicious freshly from the kitchen. The food comes fast but is fresh and well-made. We have tried a lot of Thai places (mostly in Alberta) and are usually quite disappointed when compared to our ultimate favorite Sook Jai Thai in Victoria, BC. This rates second only to them, and is local so we can regularly enjoy it. So glad we had finally tried Krob Krua. It's a great place for some yummy food. Faves so far: Nua Tod (most flavourful juicy beef ever), Panang Gai Curry, Pad See Ew (dry), Gai Pad Ma-Muang HimmaPan, and coconut rice. There are other dishes I would love to try as well. So glad to have this restaurant in Kamloops. Keep up the good work you guys!
