Best sandwiches ever! Our favourites are the Jerk Chicken and BBQ pork sandwiches. They do not have too many items on their menu, but everything they offer is so flavourful.

We got here at 3 pm and they were sold out of all their beef patties… apparently they open at 2? We ended up getting the Jerk Chicken sandwich which was really good. Just disappointed that they were out of patties within an hour and the posted time here was wrong.

Excellent food, the jerk chicken has just the right amount of heat, my wife and I each enjoyed a beverage called "dark and stormy " very good as well, the staff were very friendly, all around good food and beverages, if you want a little spice in your life I'd recommend The spice joint.

Loved the food! We had the spicy beef and curry chicken meat patties and they were so good we came back the next day for more! We also had the pulled pork grilled cheese and the jerk chicken grilled cheese. Both were delicious. The family that owns it is very nice and recommended a hike that became one of our favorites in the area too. Great food and great prices and fun, friendly, casual setting.

This was an overall wonderful experience. We decided to come visit this place and it sure didn’t disappoint! The waiter was So friendly and service just toped it up. We had the ginger bear & red strip beer are pretty amazing. It gives you a nice kick and we couldn’t get enough of the jerk chicken sandwich.We loved everything about it!

MY GOODNESS, this place is so good! We tried the spice joint our first day in Jasper, and ended up going multiple times during our stay. Finally tried this place and it was well worth the wait. Super friendly service, I had the veggie tofu wrap with a side of the house made scotch bonnet sauce, so good but the sauce was AMAZING!! My bf got the crab grilled cheese and was also very impressed! Thank you!

This place is a small hidden treasure in Jasper, the food was AMAZING and the service was the best I have experienced in Canada. Our server was very nice, he gave us suggestions for things to do and places to visit. He was even nice enough to give us a free spicy Jamaican patty to try since we weren't sure on what we wanted. This place is definitely a must try if you visit Jasper in Canada.

Visited this place October 9th 2021, around 1:00-1:30. I initially wanted to put 4 stars, the food is great including the portion, well seasoned chicken and great spice to it ???????? The drinks was a little bit overpriced for the amount/serving hence the 4 star. But because of the fantastic service and server that we had, I turned it to a 5-star. Great place, would recommend if you enjoy spicy food!

After 2 tries we finally managed to reach there before close. But we went close to closing so most items were gone. But we had pulled pork sandwich and it was delicious. I am definitely going back to get a jerk chicken sandwich. Hopefully, that works out soon. Oh, one more thing, the guy at the counter was awesome. He was very friendly and welcoming.

Great Jamaican food! Make sure you have the Jerk Chicken Sandwich. Best I've ever had and I've been to Jamaica four times. The bread is something out of this world. It's spicy but even my wife could handle it, washing it down with Ting. Same goes for the patty. Get the spicy beef. The Blue Mountain roast coffee was really good too. This place is so yummy. I got the jerk chicken sandwich based off of other reviews here. I was sad that it looked small when they handed it to me but it ended up being perfect. A little bit of heat but it really goes well with the ting bread and the cole slaw. It was $14 plus GST. They accept credit cards. Also please note that their hours are 11 AM to 5 PM except Wednesday when they are closed. Today (June 30) they still had signs saying they are take out only.

Loooved it. Went on both the days of our trip to Jasper. Might take a while to get the order ready (chicken sandwiches take longer!) so would totally recommend to pre-order especially if you are a large group. Even as a vegetarian with just one option of grilled cheese sandwich I was not disappointed. Coffee was great too.

We got the jerk chicken sandwich, the jerk chicken quinoa wrap, some beef patties, and a chai tea latte with oat milk. Everything was top tier besides the wrap. Not to say the wrap was bad, but the other items were definitely better so only order the wrap if you're craving one. Staff were super nice as well. Highly recommend this place, will definitely be coming back ourselves :)

4.9 rating is absolutely justified. The taste is unparalleled. This has become a staple for us in jasper. We come here several times a year and it's a must stop always. Just a couple points the owner, the filling in the patties is less now than it used to be. Even with less filling they are still worth it. Also spicy beef patty runs out fast. We were the first customers when they opened and they were already out. Had to wait 30 minutes for them to be ready. The taste in the end made up for the wait. Also try their sandwiches. Sooo good.

This will be the best grilled cheese you've ever had. Jamaican owned and operated. Service is great, flavors are on point and the decor is perfect. I almost missed it since its in the alley, so happy I noticed the sign. The line goes by quickly. I ordered the jerk grilled cheese just look at how the cheese melts and edges are crispy. This place will ruin you because you'll want all grilled cheese to taste like this.

Legitimately really good jerk chicken sandwich that I would not expect in a mountain town. Tastes "fresh" and all the flavours are perfect between the bun, chicken, slaw, and aioli/mayo. Only caution is that at $14 pretax it's at the very top end of the range I'm willing to pay for just a small sandwich but it's filling for the size and tastes incredible.

Well we showed up around 2pm yesterday and it was closed even though the sign outside the door said they were open. Disappointing. I wanted to see if the Jamaican food was any good out here. I'm Jamaican as well. It's unfortunate I couldn't try it before leaving the city. Despite how expensive the prices were, I was still willing to check it out but maybe I saved myself some money. Patty for $4.50 is wild.

Staff was very friendly and the establishment had a great vibe. We had the jerk chicken sandwich and jerk Cesar wrap. Both were fantastic and we would definitely have them again. A great building heat. $15 for most food, reasonable considering the cost on retail space in jasper! Support local! Personally, don’t want to go to Jasper to eat at a chain restaurant.

Jamaican Blue Mountain coffee, home made cold brew with JBM coffee, absolutely amazing food, great location and if they isn't enough, the owner and his wife are fantastic people. The Spice Joint is the cherry and sprinkles on top of the proverbial sundae that is Jasper. It's an 8hr drive from my place, and it is worth every minute.

Horrible service. We are visiting from out of country and for some reason our QR codes were not scanning. We had proof of email of our vaccines with QR code and we had our vaccine cards and IDs. We were still turned away because there was some kind of glitch in the system and the QR codes were not scanning. We have been to at least 6 restaurants in the area for our 4 day stay and were never denied entry to any restaurant except here. This place is so delicious! I met the owner the night before out with my buddy Patty ( town legend ). He was a wonderful guy! He invited us to try his food at his restaurant The Spicy Joint. So we came down and let me tell you, this has been the best Jerk chicken I have had in a long time! I got a chicken Caesar with jerk chicken and avacado. It was so good. The wait staff was wonderful, they looked after us so well! If you are in Jasper Alberta I recommend you go check this place out!! I will be making it a stop everytime I'm in Jasper!!!

After our meal, asked for a coffee to go, a regular regular, the server charged $5.25, when I protested, he said that with covid one size (medium) and one price. Fantastic hidden gem in Jasper. 100% recommended and must try. We wanted something unique and non-pub food with some spice to keep us warm on a cold day. This place was amazing. I'll get to the food a bit later but the owner was fantastic and very pleasant to chat with. We talked about ginger beer, a Jamaican sorrel drink amongst other things. The Old Jamaican ginger beer they have in the fridge is the best I've had flavour wise. I wanted to try the spicy version but I get that most visitors can't handle the kick. The jerk chicken sandwich was delicious. The bread was nicely grilled, warm and fluffy. The aoili was delicious. The jerk chicken was the star. Very nicely marinated and still juicy. We also had the spicy beef patties. The flavour was really delicious and on point. I do wish there were beef chunks instead of minced beef for some texture. I wish there were some ackee and salt fish, curries, oxtail. Basically more traditional Jamaican comfort food but I get they need to cater to the locals and tourists. I would 100% come back to the restaurant and recommend everyone try the food.

NOT worth it. We ordered $80+ worth of different meals. Expensive for the taste and serving. The jerk chicken is way way too spicy (and I usually love spicy food). The jamaican patty is so-so: the ready-to-bake frozen ones taste better. The salad is mediocre, not enough dressing. The pulled pork is ok, but unremarkable. The mango ginger tastes weird. The blueberry grilled cheese is the only one that is good. We felt that we should have ordered only the patty to try it out, that would have given us a hint of the overall food quality. We should have eaten elsewhere. Unfortunately I don't agree with other reviews here, not sure if they were all genuine.

Got to try the spice hut …the food was ok But will NEVER return when we go into Jasper. Waited outside in the heat for 40 minutes for our food because we asked for it to go. Do NOT leave Jasper without visiting the Spice Joint. I went there with my family in the summer and we all loved the food -- even my picky mum! Do not leave without purchasing the Island Tingle hot sauce if you're into spice because it's faaaantastic. Where do we begin with this little jewel in the crown? If you visit Jasper and love food that speaks to your soul, this is the place! We have never tasted food like this outside of the Caribbean and it brought back such special memories ... The pulled pork jerk sandwich was unbelievably delicious, the best taste sensation ever. The jerk chicken sandwich and wrap to mention but a few. Yes, it has spice and a little heat but every mouthful will be forever memorable. The owner is delightful and takes such pride in his food and lest we forget, a big shout out to the chilled Ting! Please open a cafe in Calgary soon!

The food here is absolutely amazing. Especially after a long drive, it’s made fresh and is steaming when you open up the wrapper. The spice was perfect, and me and my friends would highly recommend the jerk bbq pulled pork grilled cheese. You won’t even care about the price as soon as you try it. I’d say the $15 is definitely worth it as you can tell it’s authentic and made with a whole lotta love. The workers are also SO friendly and really know how to lighten up the mood. I read the lower star reviews and couldn’t believe how people were criticizing the prices or flavour. They just don’t know how to appreciate good food :p

Bring Your Own WATER…..if you ask for a cup of water with your order you will be sadly disappointed. They have glasses, they have a tap, but they won’t provide customers with a glass of water. You must buy BOTTLED water from their fridge. Not sure if they’re trying to be LESS SUSTAINABLE or just trying to make more money…..if you’re not going to offer take out the least you can do is provide dine in customers with some freaking water. I rescinded my food order in protest. Nevertheless, my friend ordered a “Jamaican” mango juice and jerk chicken sandwich. The so called Jamaican mango juice was a bottled mango cocktail made by GRACE foods manufacturer…..not sure what’s Jamaican about that…Her jerk chicken sandwich was okay. The chicken was good but the bread was dry. It cost $15…..overpriced considering it doesn’t come with a side or anything. Overall my experience was negative and I would not recommend. If management offered take out and/or water for dine in customers I may consider giving The Spice Joint a second shot.

I had the jerk chicken grilled cheese sandwich and it was packed with flavour! It was cheesy and the jerk seasoning was delicious. I also had the jamaican patty and it was so good. The filling was nice and saucy and the pastry was flakey and well seasoned. It's a bit spicy, so if you can't handle spicy foods I wouldn't recommend it. But if you love spicy foods, I would definitely recommend trying it out. Service was also great, friendly staff. Also, the restaurant was very clean.

The Spice Joint is a fantastic little spot, just tucked off the main drag. We stopped in on our way out of town, and the owner was super friendly, we had a great conversation while waiting for our food. The spicy patty was awesome, not super spicy, but great flavour. And the jerk sandwich was the perfect amount of jerk seasoning for someone who enjoys some spice without going overboard. I heard great things about the veggie patty and tofu/veggie wrap from my fiancée, as well. Definitely worth stopping in for a bite and some Blue Mountain coffee! We will certainly be back!

This review is long overdue. I visited the Spice Joint back in July with my bestie, while on vacation in Jasper. My bestie is Jamaican and I am also Caribbean and we were very skeptical when we saw this place pop up on google. We decided to give it a try and we loved this place. The sandwiches are delicious. That bread was sooo good with the perfect level of crisp. I also tried a salad that came with a mandarin dressing. Very fresh and very tasty. The owner, I believe his name is D'wayne, was very warm and welcoming to us. We chatted with him for a bit. Will come back again one day! Travelled from Toronto with 5 other people, some of which were very picky eaters. We all absolutely loved our meal and couldn’t get enough. Had they been open for dinner, we would have come back for another meal in the same day. Highly recommended!

That is the jerkiest jerk I've ever had in a sandwich! Good stuff right there. Very nice cafe with some out door seating too. The grilled cheese Jerk BBQ pulled pork, mmm mmm good, and the Jerk Chicken & Quinoa wrap... complex and satisfying. Met the owner... friendly and cool.
