Always consistent, if your looking for a Great breaky solution this is the place in Jasper for sure. All home cooked meals, excellent coffee to get the motor going! Update 2020 Food is still good both times we recently went in there waitresses have horrible attitudes covid crothiness maybe idk but not acceptable, 5 star to a 1 star just like that Definetly Won't go back the young waitresses last year were uplifted., happy and cared about the business and its customers. This year doing two visits so far service has had a big decline from last season miserable, such a shame..... Lost a loyal everyday customer.

It is a really horrible restaurant. Never forever to this place if you want a good trip. Dirty smell inside rude service slow slow slow and force you to pay tips. Hopefully I can forget it as soon as possible.

We live this restaurant for breakfast. There are lots of options and they have a breakfast special that is a great price and you still get lots of food. They also offer plenty of gluten free options and they will attempt gluten free options on menu items if you ask so they are pretty flexible. They service is always super friendly too. I highly recommend a stop for breakfast. Supper is probably great too, but I've never tried it so I can't say for sure.

Food was pretty good in my opinion, although it seemed a tad pricey for the items offered. The portions were quite good, and I had plenty to take home. Our waitress was very welcoming, and the view offered was amazing. However, it did take quite a while for our food to arrive even when the restaurant wasn't busy. If you have time to wait, the view is nice and the food is ok.

Ordered a Caramel Latte with a extra shot of espresso, however was told it would be two extra shots but was not made aware of the extra price. Went to pay and the extra shots were more than the price of the latte, was told this was the price advised by the manager, but not once did anyone come tell me this price because I wouldn't have ordered it. I see a lot of bad reviews but we had a very nice supper there with my wife and rugrat. Food was good, service was good, french fries were some of the best ever. As a generally hungry type of guy I was happy to see the generous portion size. Overall pretty darn happy with the experience.

I travel quite a bit due to work and been to many breakfast places. The Papa George has much to be desired. I have rated this place after comparing other breakfast in the area. Price: 3 stars Service: 2.75 stars Food: 3.5 stars Price is 3 stars - compared to the food. I have ordered herbivore skillet with medium poached eggs. I can see that ingredients are fresh and the taste is there but the egg was overcooked, and mushrooms were barely present. Overall the food was a bit dry, but the taste was what was expected. Service I rated low. I think the problem is that the place is understaffed compared to the number of customers.

Absolutely fantastic. Today we had the soup and sandwich special which was only $10.00. It was a potato bacon cheddar soup and the sandwich was a pork loin with coleslaw in a white bun that was super fresh. It tasted fabulous. Afternoon coffee wasn't the best. Best part is we walked in at 155 and they close at 2 and they still let us in.

Food is good but hyped up in the menu. The "mountain" of spinach in herbivore contains 5 flakes of spinach. Similarly, even when I ordered extra green onions for my omelette, they were hard to locate in the food. Service is good though.

Came here for breakfast. The good: Great breakfast special--value and taste, friendly service, cozy atmosphere both indoors and out. What could be better: service was a little on the slow side. It took about 20 minutes for our food to come and about 20 minutes to wait for a check. Music for breakfast didn't seem appropriate--acid rock in the music mix doesn't go well with beautiful mornings or the elegant setting, unless you've taken things that prevent you from knowing what time of day it is and where you are.

Monday 18.30 , not busy day at all. Only 3 tables to serve, ask for Fish and Chips for the kids, steak and lobster for me and the wife, it took over one hour to get the food, so if you are planning a quick stop and keep on the road, this is not a good place to eat.

We just returned from the most DELICIOUS meal we’ve had while in Jasper. We seriously can’t stop rubbing our bellies and talking about how amazing the food was. We ordered one carnivore skillet and one herbivore skillet, both came out fast and piping hot, and both tasted absolutely amazing. The hash browns were perfectly seasoned and cooked, and everything in the skillet went so well together! The chef must really know what they’re doing to make simple veggies taste THAT good! Drip coffee was good, service was great, and the food was just straight up amazing. Seriously the most impressive breakfast I’ve had in Jasper. We actually left feeling full and extremely satisfied for the first time during our week here. Thank you Papa George’s for the great service and incredible food, I highly recommend both skillet dishes, and they were totally worth the price point. What a positive experience!

The service was horrible, our waitress was short and rude. I think she was the only one working. The food was expensive and way under par. We were charged $1.50 per extra items (pickles and lettuce) on the kids burger. We were sat at the skullery station when we first came in and the restaurant was empty. We will not be going back.

Our experience here was awful. . We came in with a large group of people to order breakfast.The waitress was so rude to us and we felt like she hated us the whole time. I felt so uncomfortable and we wanted to leave but we had waited so long by that point. She took about twenty mins to bring us our drinks we ordered. The other waitress was pouring coffee and held the coffee pot against my husband's shoulder and burnt him and just said sorry and never came back. It would have been nice if they gave him free coffee or anything for that. We would not return here at all.

Eating at this restaurant ruined my family’s mood while on vacation. We ended up leaving the restaurant with ZERO motivation to do anything fun because of the terrible service. My partner and I recently stopped in for breakfast while we were in the Jasper area for the week. The prices were a little steep for the portion size and the food wasn't stellar, but the atmosphere was nice. The dining room is bright and cozy, and the waitress was friendly enough, if not a bit rushed. There weren't over many options on the menu for breakfast, but the food came out promptly and was nice and hot. Pretty average as far as breakfasts go.

Burger was amazing but they have no poutine and there gravy did not taste well at all! Almost like a burnt pepper! For a local Canadian that was not what I was expecting I might try again in the spring but not recommend for the fall! They seem to be out of everything for drinks or cocktails aswell. Service is fantastic!!! Lobster Mac n cheese was excellent, but fair warning, it's very rich. The bison chili is phenomenal!!! The Sheppard's Pie, with elk, boar, bison was very good. As with most game, it was a tad dry, but that's game for you. I can see why this place has been open for 95 years!! Here's to 95 more!

I got the banana bread french toast with hashbrowns (not pictured) and both were amazing. What really set this place apart aside from the delicious food was the level of service we got from our waitress (wish we had gotten her name). Our waitress went above and beyond. Always making sure our coffee cups stayed filled and literally going out of her way to make our experience memorable. My friends had their 3 month old daughter with us and the waitress helped us open the doors and set the stroller down. It was some of the best service I've had in quite awhile and really made us feel welcome and at home. I would absolutely recommend and hope to be back at some point! Thanks for the amazing experience!

Fairly upscale with good "local" ingredients- elk, bison, etc. although the shepherd's pie was a bit under-flavored. Prices are on the upper end- good for a couple who want the experience of local fare, but not within budget for most families. Atmosphere is quiet and professional- again, maybe not the right place for a large or loud family (we certainly enjoyed the quiet!)

I have never been treated so badly by an establishment. I ordered two eggs and additional toppings because I wasnt very hungry, and was given a full omelette meal w hashbrowns and toast. I waited up to 20 minutes for the server to come back and when I told her it wasnt what I ordered I began to give her the plate to where she said to me "youre just going to waste it?" I gave her the plate and I didnt order anything else as my girlfriend and I were headed to the hill right away. We got our bills and the full omelette meal that I didnt order and did not eat was on my bill. The server had been very rude from the beginning and instead of speaking to her about the bill my girlfriend paid hers and we walked out. We were chased by the manager who did not even have the full story, accused of dining and dashing. I still refused to pay and explained what happened.. apparently the server had told her manager that the meal was too big and thats why I didnt want it, when it was actually because it wasnt what i ordered. I refused to pay and my girlfriend and I went to the hill. They went forward with calling the cops. I went to the hill and was called by RCMP saying I had to go in and pay for the meal. I agreed to go in the next day and pay. I later got called by the owner of the restaurant as well that day. I explained my side. He seemed to understand. But he later spoke to his server and began to text me at 8pm that saturday with a very long message explaining to me why I was wrong, why I misinterpreted the menu. I responded that his message was very inappropriate and that we could speak about the matter the next day. My girlfriend went in the next day to pay as I thought the situation was too far gone for it to be appropriate for me to go in and the manager and server were so rude I cannot begin to explain how she was treated. They called her names, said she didnt know what it was like to work a real job, and asked my girlfriend what she did for a living to where she refused to tell them she was a lawyer. I would never step foot in this restaurant again and will do my utmost to ensure my friends and family do not either.

We travel to Jasper at least once a year from Calgary for my wife's business and at times come up with our entire family, staying at the wonderful Fairmont hotel, and always make a point of popping into town just to have breakfast at Papa George's. The reason? The eggs benedict. Year after year they never disappoint. Highly recommend trying it. The staff have always been great, welcoming and easy to visit with. We've had lunch there too and it's always been enjoyable. We'll be going there in the next day or two for sure. :)

After many years of spending weekends in Jasper I had finally took the time to which I thought I would enjoy a breakfast at Papa Georges to my surprise it was the worst experience I have ever had in a restaurant in my whole life the waitress staff were very hostile and service was far from good Mc Donald’s offers better costumer service and I have not had MCs in 20 years maybe it’s a COVID-19 thing or just an excuse but I would never recommend or eat at this place again.

Appalling service. Though the food was lovely and reasonably priced, the waitress (Leanne) was unbelievably rude throughout the service. Due to this, we chose not to pay a tip. After my daughter had paid the bill, the waitress commented quite forcefully that she had not paid the gratuity. As she left she said to her 'Thanks for the stiff!'. When questioned what she meant by this she laughed and said that it was a phrase they use. When questioned further my daughter was told she was cheap and that the waitress had treated her this way to embarrass her in front of her friends. Absolutely disgraceful...definitely will not return. Will also state the fact to friends and family throughout NZ, Australia, UK and USA

Went there for dinner last weekend. One of the only restaurants that didn't have a huge lineup/ long wait. We were seated right away but it took over an hour for our two meals to arrive, other people in the restaurant decided they weren't waiting that long and left. Papa G's is definitely a restaurant that cares about its patrons. They take the time to wipe down glasses and cutlery when they come out of the dishwasher so there are no spots. They rinse off the syrup bottles after filling them so they aren't sticky. The food is awesome. Tha staff are really nice. We will definitely be eating here the next time we are in Jasper.

Food and Service are both quite good. I spent a lot of time in Jasper in 2018 and was a repeat customer. Open for breakfast, which seems kind of rare in Jasper - or I'm misinformed... that's probably it. Typical Canadian fare but that's what I wanted - Dinner is a bit fancier menu. Good variety in the menu... but I think I ate mostly Omelettes, Reubens, and Beef Dips - my loss.

Well this is the first time I’ve EVER wrote a review, but this visit was something else. First, the manager responses to other reviews I’ve seen are not respectful. Second, the food and service was not good. After asking once for supplements to save our meal, we were told that we should’ve complained sooner. We were hungry and tried to make the best of it. The waitress then charged me full price for a meal I had three bites out of. When I made the comment that I didn’t feel I should pay for the meal, the response was “too bad, it’s policy and you ate some of it”. What???? Manager’s response was less than empathetic and the waitress proceeded to comment on the fact that her table just “stiffed” her as we left....I will not recommend Papa George’s or even think about revisiting this restaurant if the management and attitude remains as it is. If you do decide to go, don’t have the eggs Benedict and bring your own straw.

This restaurant blew my expectation. I figured this resturant would be average or good. However, this restaurant was excellent. The server was great, friendly and helpful. The food was good. I didnt expect my Wild Boar dish to be good. The sauce gave more depth and flavour to the boar. The portions are generous. Even the soups was delicious that I want to order another one. Shepherd's Pie is also good that I felt like I was at a British Pub. Dessert is also good. Unfortunately I do not remember what I ordered but it was good. The server told us that the dessert are made from local bakery not from mass produced bakery. Supporting local business is a big plus for me. The breakfast looks interesting and delicious. I will come back for breakfast. If I come back to Jasper, I would come back to this restaurant!!!

Had to wait more than 45 minutes for the Shepard pie which is nothing more than minced meat with mashed potatoes without any taste. My wife took the elk which was simply beef stew on pasta, a little bit better but not worth the price. Although we complained for the long waiting there came no excuse. Of course the tipp wa zero. Better go to any hamburger restaurant for half the price, better and faster service and better food. .

First off this place is beautiful I love the inside decor the wine room. The menu is nice the food was incredible . But unfortunately the service has ruined my entire meal . So Saturday march 10th I went in with 3 friends we all ordered the wild game burger it was fantastic, our waitress didnt smile didnt seem friendly at all infact all the waistesses looked stressed out unhappy like someone had died (sorry for this if someone actually had died ) not what I was expecting coming into this establishment . I asked to get my French onion soup taken to go she brought me the container and the kid was the wrong size she said she would get me a new one and never came back there were so many things that happened with out waitress I dont havw the time to write it out but u need to work on tour service . It was unexceptional.

Came in for lunch and had a Reuben with a side salad. The Reuben was on a nice marble rye, with a complementary dashing of Dijon, Sauerkraut, and just the right amount of Montreal Smoked Meat. The serving size was decent, and the price was appropriate. A garden side salad was arranged with effort to appease visually, and was fresh and crunchy to the bite. The only negative was that I was never offered either a drink (water was provided on arrival, but no question of any further beverage), or an option of salad dressing, so I hope you like Ranch! Otherwise, there is no question that there was good value here, and service was adequate. 4/5 for me. :)

Wasn’t greeted at all by 4 workers walking in and out of the restaurant for 15 mins. No signs of where to stand or wait. Finally got seated way in the back of the restaurant.10 mins for the server to come and ask for drinks. Server didn’t even right down our order. Server snippy, and rushed. Had to ask for condiments. Didn’t enjoy the experience. Felt like no one wanted to work and over stressed. I get it about Covid. We are all going through it! Only so much you can be nice to someone who is just willing to just dish out the coldness!

That was the worst restaurant I dined in during my long summer vacation journey! Very very bad service and food! 1.The waiter forgot to serve me my side salad.I told her I saw the picture in Google that my main course should include the side salad.She insisted on I should pay 3 dollars to buy it.After a few minutes later,she came up to me with the side salad without any appology and the attitude was very rude! 2.Kids menu was not healthy and not kids friendly!Burger was made without any vegetable.I said whether I could change the fries to a small salad.The manager said no and said it was the price that they can just offer very limited choice.I can make that kind of change in any restaurant I have dined in before.There is nothing deal with the price.Just a little ajustment! 3.I tried to communicate with the manager on the problems I had in the restaurant.She was arrogant and didn't want to do any improvement! Had breakfast with two other people on a Sunday at about 10:30 so pretty busy time. We were seated promptly had great service and the food was very good. Aug 13 - we dine in for lunch and we all get very disappointed with poor service of the server. She seemed very lazy to do her job probably she did’nt want to be there. She’s very rude and not accomodating. Food served was almost heated up in the microwave. Such a Traumatizing experience, actually our first time to encounter such.

Came here for lunch. Service was aweful. The waitress was unfriendly and treated us like we were a huge nuisance. Meal was ok but the kitchen salted the fries so much that some of us couldn't even eat them. We had the Reuben, beef dip (just beef. No onions or anything on it), salad, kids spaghetti, chicken fingers and poutine. My nephew had his heart set on the lobster mac and cheese that was on the scan menu. But they don't have that dish anymore. Instead of apologizing and suggested something else like it she complained and blamed the management for it being on that menu. So we put all of our orders in while he decided on something else. She said if we didn't she would never remember them. So once all of our food came out she said the other dish would be another minute. That's totally fine. But then we looked over and it was sitting at the pass ready. She then wipes down glasses at the bar for 5 more minutes talking to what I think is her boyfriend when we have to go over and tell her that it's been sitting there. It's for a child. Rule 1 in our family is feed the kids. Have to say I will never return and this waitress needs to change or maybe find a new calling.

Came here the morning after our wedding, we wanted real hardy food! The patio was lovely with shaded areas and full sun areas, the waitress was amazing even though we came 35mins before breakfast was closed. Sorry! But she still allowed all of us to order, coffee and drinks came out fast, our food came out fast and tasted so amazing! Menu has lots of different options which was lovely for our group! They were a little short staffed the day I went in but the food and coffee mostly made up for it. Cafe Latte: very strong but quite rejuvenating. Great Albertan combo, eggs, steak, toast and hasbrowns. Steak was a bit charred on the outside but the inside was cooked to perfection. Eggs were tasty and the hashbrowns were crispy on the outside and soft inside; perfectly cooked. By far my favourite was the banana bread french toast (or, eggy bread to those visiting from europe). Will happily visit next time I'm in Jasper.

My rating is entirely based on the flavour of my meal, fantastic. I had elk & bison meatloaf. Dining companion had salmon penne which was also enjoyed. Service was ok. It's been many years since I've visited Jasper and eaten at Papa Georgia's. We stopped in for Sunday breakfast before going on a long hike that same day. Both of our breakfasts were excellent and the service was friendly and professional. It's nice to see this Jasper landmark is still continuing to put out excellent meals. For my next trip to Jasper, breakfast at Papa Georgia's is a given.

I usually don’t take the time to review service like this ... I figure they will eventually get the message and have to figure it all out. We arrived Sunday morning after having seen the restaurant on Saturday, we waited at the front for about 2 minutes, 3 women behind the front counter saw us but didn’t acknowledge us at all ... I think one of them was the manager ... so we chose a table and sat down, a few minutes passed and a blonde employee finally came to our table to tell us we should have read the sign and wait to be seated ... great way to start give the customer a piece of your mind. The breakfast was good and coffee plentiful the value for money spent was very good .. better than Smittys on Saturday morning .. by far. I checked the sign on the way out .. 1 side facing us which I saw and read said “section closed” the other side said wait to be seated .. guess the customer should read both sides. NO TIP ... but I doubt if she would understand why. It is a nice place and good food ... BUT ! ! !
