This Restaurant is included in the category of Indian restaurant.
It was good, but they could arranged more food items. As a dessert the rice pudding was not that much good! Pls tk care about it.
Very clean, friendly staff l, amazing food and tasty, I love it, the price is okay with the quality. But the dessert in the buffet not good ????
Very slow service. Order your food one day before your trip. It took us 2 hours to get our food. Not recommended.
Pathetic flavorless food
The most delicious and unlimited Indian cuisine ever. Absolutely lip smacking snacks and food and reasonably priced.
We arrived at seven and had to wait 15 minutes or so. Many Indian people were eating here. The buffet with 20 CAD per person, all you can eat, is a good deal. The beverages are cheap as well. The food was good. Perhaps I didn't look good enough, but didn't encounter anything spicy. The butter chicken was great. They kept a close eye on how much was left abs constantly refilled. Would come here again to eat.
The food was so delicious had the Buffet that was only $14,99. So not to bad for Jasper food wise. I recommend if you want a buffet.
Excellent Indian food buffet at very reasonable lunch price of CAD$15 per person. The naan tasted great, as does the butter chicken. They somehow has a pasta salad as well and also a good selection of other curries. No tandoori chicken for lunch though and rice is just okay. But overall is a great value for this area.
The Jasper Curry House has a nice-small selection of food for their buffet. Food tasted fresh, hot, and not too spicy for our liking. The fresh nan bread is a staple to your curry dish. They only open at 5pm and seem to have a line starting 15-20 minutes before. Reasonable price for what you get!
Authentic Indian food was exceptionally good. Lunch buffet is a superb option for the price. A lot of vegetarian options and a few non-veg options. However veg options are really good and you won't miss a lot of meat. Staff is also friendly and the place is clean and nice.
Wonderful food, great location and great value. Perfect number of vegan/vegetarian options. Naan was deliciously fluffy yet crisp! Staff was quick to refill empty buffet trays and water glasses. Rice pudding was great, if you’re into that. Check it out if you’re driving through Jasper and need some fuel.
All you can eat buffet is awesome. The Naans are so authentic that I can compare them only with what you get in India.
Wow! So good, and at such a good price! Best price for dinner in Jasper. The rice pudding was a great surprise!
Great price, delicious food. Would have surely given 5 Star, if they could manage the buffet queue. Kids were literally struggling to get their plates loaded. For us, reloading took forever.
Worst food ever eaten in my life. 1.who cooks kadai paneer with gravy. 2. want eat daal then you need a swimsuit to go under water and find it. 3. I don't want to waste my time anymore because more I think about it more I want puke. 5 negative star if possible
There were limited choices of buffet foods. Taste good.
We had buffet there. It was the best.
Delicious and affordable food with plenty of great options for vegans. The chana masala is soooo gooood! Really nice service too.
I'm so glad I went for the all you can eat. I love Indian cuisine, the food was delicious. Crispy Naan, tender butter chicken, just about right spicy paneer... My girlfriend is vegetarian and had plenty of options. Staff was very friendly and thoughtful. I will come back for sure when I'm in town.
Better to eat Western food instead...not worth it.
The best home made , freshly made & mouth watering delicious food enjoyed with family & friends. The best food in Jungle. A must visit place.
The food was mediocre and not worth the money, they were not able to handle the long weekend rush hours which detoriated the food quality further and added to the wait times and long queues. Unfortunately this was the only place serving Indian food in the area on that day.
Great price for great food. Would recommend to anyone for the best place to go in town
Worst Indian food I ever had. No option for vegetarians. Paneer makhni with no paneer.
Nice buffet place, though the variety during lunch time is less but the food was excellent, perfect balance of spices, not too rich and not too light. Much much recommended
Poor place, poor service. No reservations and all walk ins are allowed. No social distancing or any other precautions. I entered here with some friends, and couldn't get any bread for 30 mins, people still kept in coming like crazy even without any tables available, people snatching breads from plates.
Was okay - pretty much what you expect for buffet fare. Was a decent price for Jasper and had patio seating.
If there was an option to give no star, would have happily chosen. I have never had an opportunity to write such a review before but if possible please do avoid this restaurant. Chicken Tikka masala actually had no chicken and naan were actually rock solid to even bite and yet had an immaculate capacity of not being cooked completely. No steps were offered despite letting the reception know about our experience at the restaurant. Its such a waste of money and time.
Awesome buffet. Highly recommended
Good variety on buffet, kitchen keeps up with the everdisappearing tandoori oven baked naan. Excellent price point.
Good food. Unexpected place to find an Indian cuisine buffet. Bit pricey. Very good staffs.
Good service by Indian Girl at counter Sunitha, and other 2 Fillipino girls. Food was average. Can add Papad and Pickle to make it better. Cleanliness required more attention.
Very poor food quality and no taste in food. The plates were dirty. Very non hygienic food
We went there for dinner at 5. They had the buffet only available. It was delicious! The masala and chick pea curry were a little spicy but that made it better. The waiter was very friendly and personable. We left with full bellies and spirits.
Food was good, quite a few options but chicken was so tough and they were heavy handed with salt. Reasonable prices though. It was really busy. Not very COVID friendly seeing as it was buffet only and everyone had to touch the food trays to open and close it to get food.
Very good food, all very fresh, lots of selection, a variety of spice levels. Reasonable prices especially for a tourist town. A little crowded and noisy. Well worth the price though! Edit: Second time I went to eat dinner here I really didn't feel like they wanted me as a customer. Got told I had to wait as there were no tables for 1, and repeatedly emphasized 'It's buffet only you know that? And you'll have to wait.' Told the lady it was clear she really didn't want me as a customer and left. 4 stars becomes 2. Food is good, service is weirdly obnoxious.
This time, I managed to visit and try indian food at this place. The taste for all veg. items were delicious! Good part was, they are having Buffet in the lunch time! And it's unlimited.???? so you can eat satisfactorily! The staff is so friendly and cheerful! Go visit!
Not too much mest or veg choices for the price ... very expensive.....
Food was great, amazing customer service at front desk....tasty food not to spicy not to hot ... Just right for every one to try .... including kids ...
Good food, very crowded, not alot of options. Nice water, felt like a buffet, not that clean. Meady washrooms
Has good veggie curry options. If you are craving Indian food then it is a good option. If you are looking for taste and flavour, then the curries are average.
This place had so bad food. Nothing was fresh. Will never recommend this place. Go to some other restaurant.
We had the lunch buffet and the food was excellent, probably of the best Indian food I've ever had (and I lived in Asia). Was happily surprised and pleased. Prices were good. The service wasn't the best but it was pleasant and prompt.
The food was not that great. I did a take out and was disappointed to taste my food (dal tadka was too soupy and dal makhani only tasted of onion & garlic and was soupy too) and angrily called the restaurant to share my disappointment. The best part the attendant did was to offer a replacement of my order and have it delivered to my hotel which calmed my nerves. That’s the best you can do to address a complaint in hospitality business. Things happen but how you address it and resolve it makes all the difference. Full marks on that. This restaurant did not win me on food but definitely on customer service. If the replacement is good to taste and as per expectation, I will share my feedback but in case you don’t see any further detail, consider no change in food taste. My suggestion to chef: use garlic & onion a little less than what you do presently, that will enhance the flavour of the dish. For your good service of addressing the concern and delivering the food, I will definitely try you out once more on my next visit.
Just reopened after covid-19 restrictions lifted up but lot new options to choose from with very authentic and at the same time diverse food with Indian touch to it. Had dinner there today and it was out of the world I must say I never tried so good biryani before. Though considering price wise it is expensive compared to city price but if you are at tourist place to enjoy their hospitality you must ready to spend bit more extra. Definitely recommend it to family and friends must go place for nice and spicy Indian cuisine.
Everything was tasty, fresh and amazing. Lots of choices. Very cheap for the quality of food. I seriously recommend it.
If you want chicken nuggets and fries, go somewhere else. This place is the real deal. Delicious and spicy
This restaurant is presented in a buffet style, in which you pay per person ($15 lunch or $20 dinner) for the food as well as any other drinks aside from water for an additional cost. The staff were friendly and we didn't feel neglected at any time. The atmosphere was lively and the food ranged from ok to good, depending on your taste and preferences. Lots of choices and options for vegan and dairy-free dishes.
The seating and interior is nice but there are not many options available in the buffet. You would see 3 or 4 curries with the same taste and not much variety to tingle your taste buds. There was just one dessert option and it was the worst. No salad available and only a single sauce. That's not how buffet work.
Delicious Indian buffet. Its only $ 20. All you can eat.
worst food ever. only come in if you want to get sick as my girlfriend puked after eating here. the dal and raita was like just water. paneer was like rubber. the chicken korma was like it was made 3-4 days ago.please never ever come here
Two stars only for the patio arrangements and location.. Their buffet has very limited items for vegetarian guests.. the taste of food was very ordinary..
One of the best places to go for authentic Indian food! I love the flavors at Viceroy and the staff is really friendly and helpful. Being Indian, I like the fact that the food is absolutely authentic and healthy (not submerged in loads and loads of oil like other places). You won't be disappointed, your stomach will be happy and your wallet won't be completely empty... take it from me, I'm a student again. I have even frequented their Lombard location for the lunch buffet when I used to work in the area and I would totally recommend the place to others. The buffet is a great deal - lots of variety. This place is spiced just right.
Went there around 7 in evening. Too busy location. The buffet system always refills with fresh one's and it does go out quickly. Do try the veg Pakoras. ????
I would have given -5 if they allow me. Worst food ever. Just had a buffet , not a single thing I can mention that I liked. We all just left without filling up our tummies. I won't recommend them to anyone.
Rude owner. We've been traveling all across Alberta for a week and every restaurant accommodated us when asked to heat baby food. My baby was crying out loud and she still didn't want to warm up his food. Average tasting food. Not value despite being a buffet. The staff is nice, just the owner is mean.
Everything was spicy except for the rice and naan, which typically isn't a problem for adults but kids can't eat anything here. The butter chicken was dry, and the other dishes all used the same spice mix so tastes the same.
Decent food, but they really need to work on their rice porridge dessert.
Pathetic place. There are other better Indian restaurants in Jasper. Flouting government norms. No social distancing, food doesn’t taste good. Plates are broken.
Not a whole lot of varieties. Out of the food they had, my family and I personally loved the rice and lentil curry. Overall it was a good experience
It was only Buffett which is fine, however the food was watered down, and no taste to it. It was the worst indian food we have eaten at an indian restaurant. Buffet did not have many choices. Only one choice of dessert. No smile on face when greeted either. Sorry for 2 stars but it my personal opinion.
Thought to try since it was really crowded the night before. Average food, congested space inside, patio is nice but gets crowded if people are waiting. Buffet is a bit pricey for the quality of food. Tasted somewhat bland as they cater to all in the buffet. They did not serve a-la-carte if you want something different.
I do not understand the good reviews. Everything tasted of the same very spicy spices and didn't have much of the delicate Indian flavours. The butter chicken only had tiny pieces of chicken and meat content in general was small. It was very crowded when we went (a weekday evening at around 8 pm after the Labor Day weekend), so maybe the food isn't as good at those times... I give 3 stars since it's reasonably priced and the food isn't bad, it's just not interesting and not what I normally experience in good Indian restaurants.
I have to say, I enjoyed every single bite of the meal in Jasper Curry Place. I had veg thali,I did try Chicken Biryani too. Considering the quality, the price is reasonable. Ideal place to taste Indian cuisine. Really, appreciate chief's efforts and love he put while preparing meals for us!!!!! Awesome!!!!!!!
I am native Indian and can taste food better. This place and food as well was not good. The decorations in the place were so cheap no one uses those in India. Please, at least represent our country in a better way on international level.
Great value for a place to fill up before a trek. Lunch buffet has a medium selection of dishes, good naan and Chicken Tikka Masala was my favourite, some of the others seemed a bit watered down and less flavourful.
I visited Curry Place last Monday with my family for lunch. The food in the buffet had no choices. There was chicken korma which did not have meat only bones. There was Mattar paneer which had only mattar no paneer. The food had no taste at all .butter chicken like sweet dish. There was a male server, when we told him about it he started arguing with us We had the worst restaurant experience in Canada. The food was horrible.
Wow the amazing spice smell when you walk into the restaurant. Mouth watering effect!! Customer service was on point. Very friendly and welcoming employees. Food was just marvellously tasty ????. Yumm mm yumm. Wow ???? restaurant atmosphere was to the dot!! Very clean and tidy. Service again was just unbeatable. Thank you we had a awesome evening something not to forget!! Definitely a Gem ???? in Jasper keep putting smiles on customer. ????
The pakodas were way too big, not crispy as should be. The chutney was cucumber raita instead of traditional tomato chutney and worst of all, butter chicken was just gravy with 3-4 0.5 cm long may be. It was basically gravy only. They even forgot to give us one of our orders!!!! Terrible. Wouldn't recommend anyone. Not worth your money at all.
The food here was amazing! I felt like this was very authentic because many Indian people dined here. I would highly recommend this place!
I really didn’t like this place. The service was Pathetic & the people working there don’t know what they are doing. They charge 20$ for a Buffet with 3-4 choice, its not worth it. The tables were dirty and felt as if someone already used them before us and the restaurant people never cleaned it. I will never go again. If you are heading to Banff i would say you can find better Indian Food there in Banff. PLEASE FOCUS ON THE QUALITY RATHER THAN THE QUANTITY. No starters and no sweets after the food. I hope this review helps you all. This was the first time and my experience was 1/10. I wouldn’t recommend this to anyone.
$20 for dinner buffet well worth it. I come from Brampton, ont where you find Indian restaurant every corner and compare to most of them I tried so far good goat curry.
Lovely indian spread at very affordable rates. They also serve some non-spicy pasta in case you don't like your meal super hot. I enjoyed the tandoori fish and the mutton curry. Wish they had better options for desserts though.
We didn't like their service one bit. First of all we called more than 3 times to know what time they close but there was no answer from them. When we got there to order food we hear the phone rings and the girl doesnt pick up the phone she says "Im busy" we told her that could be a customer at least pick up and say please hold. Anyway she did she looked she's tired but at the same time greet your customers with a little bit of a friendly face because this is Jasper you are giving the tourists the Jasper hospitality and we didnt find it there. Third when we picked up our food got to our hotel to eat dinner we found only one rice, we were mad because order two combos. Im only being fair here, plus I doubt the meat is halal because there was no certificate or what so ever. Good day
Excellent food, great selection. Wish they had tandoori chicken. They had Tandoori fish which is Basa.
Very disappointed. The food was terrible. The chicken korma was uncooked and rice pudding tasted as you cooked with leftover rice. My biggest concern was the buffet during the pandemic. They did sanitize the place at all. I wouldn't be surprised if non-Indians gave a high review because they don't know the taste of real, authentic Indian food. Don't waste your money and time unless you want to throw up like my niece .
We had the BEST time at this restaurant. The staff were so welcoming and kind, especially since we had a toddler in tow, and the food was really wonderful. There was such a spread, from goat curry to two kinds of dal plus a lot of classic favourites. As vegetarians, we had so much to choose from, and it was all delicious! Can't wait to go back.
Great food at a reasonable price in a town where eating out can be pricey. $20 for dinner on a Saturday evening. Decent variety of veg and non-veg and a covered patio. Service staff was great! A good overall experience.
Staff are not friendly and food is overpriced. They charge extra for rice and bread which should be included (at least one of them). We got a takeout and they charged us $4/rice but somehow forgot to put it in the package so when we got back to our hotel we realized the rice was missing.
Stopped for the evening buffet. Friendly service and a good selection of dishes, salad, one starter and 5 or 6 mains. All of them were tasty, though the korma was slightly different to what I'm used to in the UK. The cost was $20 which I felt was good value. Drinks were a little expensive, so I opted for water. Interestingly they had Indian 'Taj Mahal' lager, which I've never seen despite living in the country for 6 months!
Their listed hours are wrong! Do not trust what is posted here. It might be better to call in first. I was excited to dine here but was disappointed to find out they were closed today!
My husband and I stopped on a Sunday not knowing it was all you can eat at lunch. It was very busy but the service was great. We do not have much experience with Indian food but the buffet items were delicious. We will certainly stop again when we are in Jasper.
Not recommended at all. I will stay hungry rather than getting sick from their disgusting food. Dont even dare to try. Neither a good facility nor good food.
Really enjoyed the meals here, and we ended u going 2 evenings in a row.
Food was subpar and price was a bit higher then some of our favorite Indian cuisine restaurants.
The food was totally messed . Fish is half cooked . If you are brown , never ever go to this place .
Not a big variety at the buffet and the naan is dry and not good. Not going back!
Pathetic food Dont waste your money here
Food was alright staff were nice. The place had only one halal dish. I would recommend asking the staff if anything is halal prior to eating it. They do have many vegan options instead.
Stopped in here for lunch while visiting Jasper. Really good price for an all-you-can-eat lunch - it definitely gives you the chance to get your money's worth. The butter chicken and chicken korma were really tasty. I enjoyed the naan as well. Staff were very friendly and accommodating.
I went last night to this place to get veg food for parents. First, where's the covid social distancing? Second, place was super congested. The lady at the cash is racist much. So she gave me 2 bowls to fill up my choice of curry and rice and she will being the naan. I brought the curries and another lady took it from my hand and placed it in a plastic bag and walked away. The lady at the cash brought the naan and gave it to me and I asked her where is my curry then she points on another side and asked me to take the naan and take the bag from other side. She did not have the courtesy to bring the bag to me since they took it there. But on another hand, she was super nice to this white guy who came after me and he received a white glove service. Lol.. she filled up his curry, placed it in a bag and added the naan to the bag and handed it over to him.. hmm why the difference in service? I politely told her what she did wasn't nice and I do not appreciate the way she treated people differently and her response "that's your problem ma'am" umm ok.. it just gave me an impression to not go to any Indian restaurants in Alberta.
I should have trusted the low rating. I phoned to order takeout and was told they don't do that, just come in and grab it from the buffet. "Everything is in the buffet". When I drove into town I realized the two dishes I wanted weren't even in the buffet. I went for the dal as a last resort and it was watery and bland. Pricey and so flavorless I didn't eat my leftovers. Also, why are buffets allowed during COVID??
Food-5 Service-4.5 Deco-4 Cleanliness-3.5 Value for the price- 5 Time to deliver-2(had to wait 1 hour to be seated)
Ordered Mango Lassi quantity was like 200 ml. Subji was very watery and dishes had leftovers stuck on edges.
Authentic Indian food and flavors, definitely recommend it, great service.
Waited 45 minutes to find hair in my meal and definitely going to Agni. But staff was friendly????????
This is an absolutely amazing restaurant. I’m Indian and very picky about Indian take-out. All the dishes reminded me of meals that came out of my mom’s kitchen. No creams and heaviness – no over saturation of spices. Just simple, authentic, healthy, hyginic Indian food. The prices are low and the quality is amazing!! Service is excellent!!????????
Their website and Google page says they are open today. After a long drive and a lot of enthusiasm for a buffet after a day of hiking, we arrived to find a closed restaurant. Very disappointing and inconvenient. I think it is reasonable to expect a restaurant to keep their hours up to date in this day and age.
Its actually 3.5 stars. Food is OK, if you are not from the subcontinent you will enjoy the food, if you are then you know what local food tastes like and this barely makes the cut. It's a place for non-indians to have a taste of India and for desis to satisfy their craving for fresh Naan.
The best Indian curry place,it has great menu , mildly spiced, with oven fresh Naan, the Owner Gopal is always there to help out, rest of the staff is superb friendly and smiling like Canadian. If you are craving for Indian food, this all you can eat is 5 star choice in Jasper.
