Each dish I've had over the course of my three visits to Alégria has been absolutely delicious. The chef's espoused objective is to make simple, fresh, and delicious food: it comes through in Alégria's fare. The mains are perfectly cooked and bursting with flavour; the desserts are decadent and made fresh in-house. Moreover, my most recent experience at Alégria was a dinner for my sister's 18th birthday, and the staff at Alégria ensured that the experience was a great one both for her and the rest of the family. I would recommend Alégria without reservation and look forward to my next visit!

Such an amazing experience. The staff here are very helpful and have great vibes. Also, don't know how often it occurs, but they had live music tonight (Saturday) and it was really nice. The singer is really good! The food is also delicious and there's a wide variety. Highly suggest the empanadas Anyways, amazing restaurant, 10/10

Great sauces burgers, sandwiches, seafood. Inspired by Dominican tastes. Instead of traditional fries, they serve Yucca fries or fried plantain chips (toastades?) Would be nice to also have the option of traditional fries tho. About 1/2 the 10 people in the group did not like either yucca or plantain, and would have preferred fries. Side salad was an alternative, but not the same. Atmosphere was good and service was also good. Price for average plate is about $17-20. Drinks extra, but they had a very good selection of hard drinks too. They actually make a Mojito with real mint! Worth a try for sure.

Had some amazing take out from here tonight, highly recommend their specials (I had the Fish and Chips, which were lightly battered, which I much prefer than the English style), and my husband had the Cubano which he said was the best sandwich he had in years! Unfortunately this is possibly the worst lunch I've ever had. I was there for an hour and a half when all I ordered was a sandwich. On top of that, they didn't even give me the correct dish. When I asked the waitress about it she just said that it was what I ordered, I then asked a different one, who also told me it's what I asked for, and when I said it was beef and not pork like I ordered, she brought it to the back and then brought it right back out, said I was right and offered me the staff discount which isn't worth it for something I didn't eat. It was a waste of my money and my time.

GATINEAU BEST KEPT SECRET! Today a friend invited me to visit "Bistro Alégria" . I'm really impressed!!! The place is cozy, inviting, elegant , casual, laid back atmosphere. The service is just great, very professional, friendly, helpful, they make you feel at home right away. The food is absolutely delicious, beautifully presented, prices are very reasonable. The washrooms are spotless. I would highly recommend this place. Wish I could give it more stars! Congratulations!!!

A nice place for experimenting latin cousine and music. The place is small but cozy; service is not that fast so it might take some time for you to get your plate if the place is busy. Still, I highly recommend it!

Me and my partner decided to go Bistro on our anniversary date. We asked for the seafood croquette, the cubano and the fish & chips. The croquette was ok, there was some flavor there. The cubano’s flavor was good but I was expecting the sandwich to come pressed, as cubano’s typically do. The fish was flavorless unfortunately, and the coconut dip was unseasoned as well. The tostones that came with both of our dishes were oilier than necessary and they were made with almost ripe plantains as opposed to traditionally green ones. Upon arrival, they asked if we had a reservation and our proof of vaccination (both of which I really appreciated) and sat us at our table. The table seemed a bit too close to other tables but, I guess if we’ll all vaccinated then that’s ok? Service could have been more attentive but I guess it was a busy night.

Tried for the first time last night using takeout. FANTASTIC food. Flavorful and nicely presented. Perfectly spiced soup, lovely salads, tasty tacos, delicious chicken brochettes and pork tenderloin... even the rice with beans was amazing. Super yummy churros with two dipping sauces - one chocolate and one sort of a burnt sugar flavour that is addictive. Best restaurant food we have had in the past year.

I normally don't bother with reviews, but I have to with this place - the food is outstanding. Literally everything they serve is freshly made in-house. Their steak sandwich might be the best sandwich I've ever had I've eaten at most restaurants in the area, and this one might be the best. Highly recommended!

Only problem we had was with bar. Had no idea how to make a caipirinha even though it was Brazilian band night...reason we went...there was club soda in caipirinha, was watery and tasted like a mojito pop minus the mint and the rum! ????????????????

Delicious food, authentic with a great combo of different Latino countries, great atmosphere, beautiful presentation and fair prices/ portions. Excellent ambiance! Super mix of Latino cuisine, the music bring up the Alegria inside anyone and the staff is really gentle. You'll experience an immersion in a mix of Latino flavour from Cuba, Dominicans passing by Peruvian to spice the whole with Mexican salsa (Canadian spicy, mild hot). We order two Beef Barbacoa tacos that is supposed to arrive with different sauces.. but yet they arrived cold, the taco/torta was chewy tasted old. Very disappointing as we had order before and can’t believe the nasty quality they have now. ¡¡Qué bueno!! We came here for lunch today when they opened with a group of adults and kids. Both loved everything we ordered. They really fill your plate and do a beautiful job with presentation. Not sure what we loved more. The yucca fries were much better than those tried in other restaurants and the bartender delivered on a delicious, fruity, boozy sangria. The indoor seating by the open patio doors was spacious and the breeze entering with the air conditioning made for a very comfortable dining experience. Music transported us to abuela's house. Prices totally reasonable. Our waitress possessed all the qualities of a wonderful server - welcoming, attentive, and professional. Chef came out at the end to say hello and it was nice to meet the face behind the delicious food and thank him in person. I recommend to everyone to skip the delivery, and dine in to enjoy the authentic ambience. We'll be back ;) ¡Gracias, Bistro Alegria!
