Very rude server at the door. We rang the bell like it said to do and he told us he’d be with us shortly. We had the door open because it didn’t look like we were allowed in as there is a table and plexi glass blocking the entrance. Server said: “in or out.” We said oh we weren’t sure we were allowed in. He replies: “shut the door, it’s in or out; if you haven’t heard there’s a pandemic going on.“ All we wanted was for him to tell us we could come inside or wait outside and maybe could have done that politely. We felt embarrassed and ridiculed. Never will go there again on the way through Hope!

This was a first time visit.the food was fantastic.service great.only compliant the tempura was mostly yams .not a great variety. and they were sliced to thick.and the dipping sauce was cold.it should be heated.but all in all it was very good .definitely will be going back.

Don't order the Crunch roll. You will be very disappointed as it has virtually nothing in the roll, just lots of rice. Most disgusting roll I have ever tasted. Presentation was worse. Customer service non-existent.

Decently priced, very fresh sushi. Would love to see more unagi (BBQ eels) variety, my personal favorite, but very good otherwise. Green tea was average, no roasted rice, and never got refilled once. Service was very good, polite and friendly.

We've eaten from here twice now with take-out since pandemic, it's really good. One of the better restaurants of Hope! I've tried the Yakisoba, Mix Tempura, Multiple rolls, veggie sunomono, Oyako Don, and I have not been disappointed by anything. It's cooked well, the miso is delicious. Highly recommend! I would love to see more Korean dishes on the menu; as it is named after Kimchi. It'll be nice once COVID is better handled that the restaurant can open to eat inside.

The food here is fresh but basic with a heavy dose of the cheaper vegetables and not a lot of flavour. The teriyaki sauce everything comes soaked in is sugary gloop. The variety of food on offer is extensive and the portions are generous.

Food tasted fine. The rolls are on the small side portion wise for the price. I ordered a Philadelphia roll but it had no meat in it (smoked salmon) so I was a bit dissappointed. In my experience all Philadelphia rolls have salmon in it but I guess I should have clarified before ordering.

I was going to give this place a three. But there was a good variety and the sushi was very good. It didn't feel quite authentic though. I've ordered the same dishes at other restaurants. The food was still good but there were a couple things that were just off. Like the pork cutlet was more like a frozen cutlet you'd get in a grocery store than a freshly prepared one. And the cutlet sauce just tasted like thined out HP sauce. The beef bulgogi was a little on the bland side and was a little too oily. It was nice enough food and it was a good value. I don't feel like I paid too much for it. Over all I wasn't impressed though.

I ordered the "chef's choice" "deluxe sushi plate" at $24. The chef seems to think "deluxe" means a repetitive selection of the cheapest pieces of salmon and tuna. When I complained he said it was "his choice" what to put on the plate. Avoid this place at all costs.

We're passing through on a motorcycle trip and found this gem of a place. We ordered a boat and the sushi was excellent. The service was very friendly and attentive. Anything you want from the Japanese side or Korean side is available. Its located in a small strip mall but there seems to be enough parking between there and street parking. There are about 10 tables. If you're in Hope, give it a try.

Service was good but my meal was less than par. The vegetables in my kebab dish consisted of mostly cabbage, with literally two small pieces of peppers and some broccoli. I would stick with sushi here, as that's hard to mess up.

It's not really fair as we didn't get to go here so know this is NOT a review of the food. We had been wanting to try this place for a couple of weeks and planned to go while we were camping nearby. We showed up to discover that contrary to the Google listing they're not doing dine-in and given the styrofoam take out packaging we didn't order to go. Bummer!! If you're planning to eat in, call ahead. If styrofoam is not your jam either, maybe they'll let you bring your own containers.

DO NOT EAT HERE! At least not if you want your order right. The service is TERRIBLE!! I placed an order for take out, and was very specific about my order, got home, and discovered missing items. When I returned to the store, after wasting my time and gas, all they had for me was the bare basic of my missing items, and nothing to make up for the trouble they had caused, because according to them, they took my order right, even though I made sure to specify. They were completely unapologetic and didn't even care that they had screwed up, because "they had done it right." I wish I could say this was a one time occurrence, but unfortunately not. If you want what you ordered, without wasting time, and being told you didn't order what you ordered, don't eat here. There are 2 other great sushi places in town, and are much more worth your consideration.

Kimchi is currently only doing take out which we didn't know when we got there went but that was fine. We were happy that they are staying safe. We could see that the place was very clean and the young woman who took our order was very prompt, friendly and efficient. We ordered the bento boxes which were excellent! Lots of good food the sashimi was excellent. Will definitely stop here again!

Normally this has been a good place but had a really poor salmon teriyaki dinner. Only vegetables were a bit of broccoli and wilted cabbage. The salmon was so overcooked it looked like it was smoked. Stick with their rolls and nigiri.

If you're passing by this town and hungry, this restaurant is a good option. The menu is more Japanese than it is Korean, with only a few Korean dishes (no soups unless you count ramyun). Ordered a teriyaki chicken bento and Nabeyaki udon, both very decent. The chicken and beef were quite tough but otherwise, flavors were all there.

Gyozas were oily and lacking flavour. The sushi (rice) was quite bland which really took away from the maki, but complimented the Korean stir fry well. Despite the bland sushi, the squash avocado roll was quite tasty. Service was good, bathrooms were not as good... Would probably eat here again.
