Place has a great vibe. Loved the decoration, washrooms are graffiti decorated and the music is enticing. We were a party of 2, our server was great and always checking in with us to ensure everything was good and our table clean. We ordered the belly non-taco dish, 3 tacos, 2 alcoholic drinks and 1 dessert. I give 4 stars because: 1) the margarita was good but full of ice ???? 2) ???? weren't a big deal. I think you have the potential to review your taco's recipe.... I have gone to other places with waaaaay tasteful tacos 3) found the drinks expensive for a restaurant in Hamilton. Those are the same prices of Toronto. Overall, I will come back a peak day and see how everything goes. I really like them (and the washroom)

THE Place for hanging out with friends or your date, spouse. So friendly and attentive. You can seat by the bar or high tables with bar stools over looking outside, or at the back room. Summer nights seat outside enjoy the breeze with nice drinks and delicious Mexican tacos and more. Make sure to book in advance. Highly recommended

Favourite place in Hamilton for tacos! We made a detour on our way to Niagara just to have them for lunch. Fresh, decent size, and fairly priced given the location and comparable restaurants. Vibe and ambiance is great as well!

We were visiting from Vancouver and checked out Hamilton and the charming older buildings. The Mule is on a road that is closed to traffic so that customers can spread out onto the street for seating. So glad we were able to eat here, the service was great. The margaritas are the best, hand crafted and severed on the rocks! The ceviche is a delicious work of art. Highly recommend!

Overall a good experience. Went on a Sunday night. It was quite busy but we did not have to wait for a table. Staff is reasonably friendly, although the hostess raced far ahead of us on the way to the table. Food was good. Was hoping for more vegan/vegetarian options. Decor was interesting. Enjoyed the no bake cheesecake dessert. Nice experience but probably would not go back due to limited options that are meat free.

Came in last night for dinner which was delicious! The best part of the night besides the company I was with and the food was our waitress, Hannah! She went above and beyond, she was seriously on point the entire time we were there. Great service, fun and friendly and I couldn't be more Impressed...seriously I told my friend she was my soul sister- great vibe! Thanks for a fun night we will definitely be back.

I always wanted to visit this Mexican restaurant but restaurant is little Upscale and I am not that rich lol. I’ve been there as Uber driver couple times to pickup and I received great hospitality even though I was not their actual customer. I just visited today again and lady at counter was so sweet. Restaurant is quite unique and fancy at same time from inside and It has a good lively atmosphere.

It was my first time visiting this place and I was NOT disappointed in the least. We started with the queso fundido (because who wouldn’t?!) and it was very tasty. I just wanted a bigger portion, ‘cause it’s delicious melted cheese, but that’s fine. Tacos were great. The achiote chicken was nice, but the other two really blew me away. The brussel sprout taco was very flavourful, full of texture and altogether, surprisingly my favourite. The pork belly was crispy and wonderfully fatty. So good. I was full but HAD to go for dessert. I had the half baked cheesecake mason jar and it was so damn tasty. Good crunch from ginger snap-like cookies, rich filling, sweet and tart strawberry topping… YUM. And EVERYTHING is gluten-free. WHAT?! Washed everything down with a cucumber margarita which was also delicious and refreshing. Hats off to the chefs and bartenders ! But major shout-out to our attentive server, Maura, who really made our night with her outstanding service. I look forward to returning soon!

Tacos are great, beers are good, the potato appetizer is amazing. They have a dessert option that's not on the menu. The patio setup was just as nice as the inside of the restaurant. I was impressed by the amount of food we were able to get and it was a really good value. It was our first meal out in a while and it was for a special occasion. I think we made the right choice.

They have limited food options and their Brussel Sprouts Taco is a must have for vegetarians. Their ambience is great! However, it is super crowded even in the evening so make sure to get a reservation if possible!

The Mule is by far my go to place for tacos. I highly recommend the Brussel sprout tacos. The staff are always friendly and helpful. It is a great spot to grab some food and drinks with friends and everything is gluten free. The only downfall is some of the seating can be a bit awkward. My friend and I recently sat at one of the high top tables and the space was a bit small and uncomfortable.

I was at The Mule yesterday to take an old friend out for her birthday. It was my first time, as I'm not a Hamilton native, but I have to say, this taco bar is a gem! The food is very yummy, and the black hot sauce, a smoky, salty, habenero sauce was just something else! Hannah, our server was great to deal with...she was attentive, helpful, and had a great attitude! I also like the vibe of the place, bustling, but very comfortable and laid back. The restaurant itself has a vintage feel, and I could easily see this taco bar as a favourite afterwork place to go to with your chums and spend time. If I have but one criticism, it's the seats at the high tables were not that comfy. Also, when making a reservation, you may be bummed out by what's available by seating, but having gone to the Mule, I wouldn't care if I was at a regular table, high table, or bar stool, the vibe is great! Plenty of super cheap parking behind the restaurant ($2 from 6pm to 6am). Overall, a great place to grab a bite, have drinks, and be with your chums!

First time trying The Mule. Super yummy tacos and great service. They made a mistake in our tacos order but fixed it right away. A bit pricier than some places, but the taste completely makes up for it, the tacos are delicious! The pork belly banh mi was amazing.

Love the taste but quantity is a bit less than what you paying. I had three tacos with a drink and I paid over $20 and I was still hungry so its more like a snack place and not a complete lunch or dinner. Service was good but if you want more tacos then the wait time is 7-10 mins which breaks your rhythm of eating so please note that 3 tacos may not be enough but 4 would do justice to your appetite but may ding your wallet a bit.

I had a horrible experience at the mule on November 4, 2021. I was denied entry on the basis that my medical exemption document signed by medical professionals an immunologist and my physician was falsified. I am medically exempt from receiving the COVID-19 vaccine due to an auto immune disease and history of anaphylactic reactions due to medication‘s and substances. I was centred out in the middle of the restaurant and offered to dine outside by myself while the rest of my party was welcomed in. I was told by ‘management’ that I was not welcome in the restaurant because I was a health hazard to the patrons and the employees. Under provincial law they have no right to deny my entry to the restaurant because of a medical exemption, it was extremely discriminatory, and embarrassing. I felt no sympathy from the staff, and will NEVER dine here again. As stated on the government of Canada‘s health and safety website, any patron with a written document by a physician signed dated and addressed with valid photo ID shall be exempt from proving Proof of double vaccination to dine inside. I have been in contact with municipal bylaw, as well as the water and food safety department of Hamilton in regards to the Discriminatory action by the staff at this restaurant… extremely disappointed.

Small portions but food was tasty. The no physical menu is the biggest disappointment. I spent hundreds of dollars at your restaurant and was refused a menu. My phone died and I had no way of accessing the menu without my phone. Staff laughed at me and didn’t provide any alternatives. Many of my friends (over 70+) don’t don’t own a cell phone and will no longer be dining at your restaurant either.

Had a girls night out at The Mule this past Friday night. Tacos were excellent (but spicy), the appetizers (guacamole and calamari) were phenomenal and the margaritas were simply delicious - we were ordering them by the pitcher! Our server was fabulous. She went above and beyond to take pictures of the four of us as we didn't have any recent pictures together. Great service by all the staff we encountered and lovely atmosphere. I will definitely be back. Five stars!

A tad disappointed when I got there. First when we arrived we were told we would be going on the wait list- which was about 15-30min wait, totally reasonable…right? My friend and I decided to take a walk downtown to kill time. After a little bit we got wondering how much longer it would be, so ventured back over to the mule to check in with the staff. When we arrived and asked how much longer our wait would be one of the staff responded with “Umm, yeah, we’re really busy tonight”. We asked again what the wait would be, as she didn’t give us a time just to once again have her respond saying “yeah, we are really busy” and proceed with taking our name of the list. Honestly I was pretty excited about checking this spot out- but not after that experience .

The Mule is 100 percent gluten-free. I had the freedom to order anything on the menu. The staff are amazing willing to answer any questions. The atmosphere at The Mule is very quaint and artistic. Lot's of beautiful wall murals and colourful purposeful graffiti in the washroom. I will definitely go back. Dinner was perfect tacos to die for.

The food is really good here and I enjoy it. The bizzare thing is you cant tell who is working here or not. Dressed casually and it seems low energy slow pace is a thing with most staff here floating around slowly. Zero urgency. I imagine if that wasn't the case they would have much better turn around time and less waiting at the door.

We enjoyed more fabulous takeout last night. Ordered a bit of everything, including fish tacos, chicken and beef fillings Lots of choice! May small containers of delicious sauces included. Fresh guacamole. We had both hard and soft tacos. Taco chips too...everything made in house. 'Stood up' to delivery. And everything is gluten free! So much talent in that kitchen! Highly recommended. This is my fave restaurant for tacos and I usually love it here; however, I came with a bigger party and service wasn’t great. The server did try his best which we can all appreciate since we were a big group; however, he wrote down all of our orders and we were still missing a few food items. Some of our drinks took awhile to get to the table. Manager was slightly rude and had an attitude. Lastly, your website mentions bigger parties get an auto gratuity of 18%, which is fine and expected; however, our bill said “18% (20.35%)”. We did the math and we were in fact charged the 20% instead. We weren’t drunk but maybe the staff thought we were, so they thought it was cool to overcharge us? Idk. We still paid it though to avoid causing trouble, despite the service, lol.

I ordered the $20 DIY taco kit and was very disappointed with the portion size, I felt seriously ripped off. Ordered two guacamole sides at $3.50 a pop and got two small dipping cups of it expecting larger sized. Photos included are The DIY kit with sauces and the guacamole side.

My friends and I love going to the mule but this particular night had put a sour taste in my mouth. We were sat and eager to start our Saturday night from working all week. After 1 hour of being there we only have 1 drink each and 1 shot. Our server was noticeably avoiding our table so I took that as a sign she wanted to cut us off but didn’t want to tell us herself. We asked her coworker if we could order and she said “she was only there to pick up our plates and she would grab our server.” Our server then came over and took our order which included another round of margaritas. She left with no problem but then came back 5 minutes later to tell us that she was only going to bring us our bills and the nonalcoholic drinks we’ve ordered. The reason I’m explaining this in such detail is because we felt like she did a lot of dancing around the question. We were left alone for a while and never came to check on us if we needed more water, nothing. Once the manager came up to us to tell us we were officially cut off, we were told that she “assumed we were drinking before we got there.” You cannot make assumptions off of anything. We are hardworking people who just wanted to have a good time with our friends before another long work week. So amongst 6 people we spent $160, including 5 appetizers and 4 tacos, which says a lot. We will not be returning

I booked a reservation for 2 here for my boyfriend and I to celebrate our anniversary. Our table was situated in a little nook outside between 2 buildings. The ambience was great! Patio lights strung on the top, the old brick walls, greenery for decor and the music was bumping haha. Good throwbacks - mostly hip hop/rap and we loved it. Shoutout to our waiter who was awesome! I got a strawberry cocktail and he got bourbon on the rocks. Drinks were lovely. We got the calamari and queso dip to start. I’m not one for calamari but really enjoyed these with the sauce that was on the plate. We got 1 of every taco to try and shared them. None of them disappointed - literally the best tacos I’ve ever had. My personal fave was the Brussels sprout taco and the fish taco but they were honestly all delicious. Their feature taco was an LGBTQ taco and a dollar from every taco was donated to a local cause. We’ll definitely be back!

They have great service. Very cool ambiance and excellent tacos. Their "not taco menu is also quite nice and includes some simple civiche. Nice bourbon selection and they make a heck of a decent Manhattan. I have also been there for brunch and it is equally delicious. Interesting fusions on classic meals. Amazing!!! This has been on my "want to go"list for a long time. Finally went, and I regret not going sooner. Started with the "strawberry collins" (a must try if you dont like stuff that's super sweet). Also got an array of Tacos (the fish was my fav, runner up was the brussel sprout taco) We also had the Queso and chips (AMAZING!) the only thing I wish they had was Elote. I miss it from when I lived in California. I feel like they would make a killing- if they offered this on their menu! Will def be returning!

I visited this cute place yesterday! Not only the tacos were yummy, the service and the cocktails were great as well. The only thing I did not like about this place was the spacing. We were given high chairs to sit. It was pretty uncomfortable, the table was very small . Our napkins and cutlery kept falling off and it was difficult to keep the food we ordered in such a small space Apart, from that, the food, ambiance and service was good!

Just had lunch on the patio and it was fantastic! First time out since the 'before time'. The food was delicious, as always but what I really want to point out was the amazing service. We had the pleasure of being served by Harlee. She was so friendly, attentive and really made a great experience truly excellent. Thank you so much!

A tad expensive for what it is, had fried chicken and fish tacos and they were good, but not any different from other taco places in Toronto where they charge a dollar to 2 dollars more for the same taco. However, still worth a visit, as the ambiance is nice, spacious and relaxing. And the servers are very friendly and knowledgeable about the menu. Nice meet up place or date night, but would be steep to go to on a regular basis.

This downtown location is tucked away on King William Street which at the time of this review has been under construction but will soon be a thriving hot spot (more than it already is). Parking is all found using public lots or parking metres so be sure to have some loose change or cards if you use one of the lots that offer that option. The staff here are friendly and the service is fast. There’s lots of Tequila options to choose and beer or wine if that’s more your thing. Highly recommend at least two tacos and if you love Brussel Sprouts you won’t be disappointed. If you have the appetite I’d say you do have to try them all. Overall a great place to enjoy some food and drinks with your favourite people. You can just drop In without reservations but if you plan on bringing a group I would suggest calling ahead. An interestingly decorated location, artistically painted walls with a carribean hacienda like theme... Memories of rural Cancun... Great tacos, spicy dry rub wings and excellent service, very friendly environment. I've never had a real taco before this visit to The Mule, very tasty, I can eat a few of these... lots of public parking nearby, and surrounded by many other unique restaurants and clubs... A must visit. Definitely coming back here.

My friend and I, had ordered from the mule - it was my first time and most likely my last. In my opinion the portions recived considering the price was a total rip off, yes the food was alright but it wasn’t the best compare to other “Mexican” joints and considering the size (small taco sizes and fries supreme) and overpriced. The service we had received was okay via phone, during a pandemic ( everyone is going through a rough time I get it) and while taking out - The Mule still expects a tip for its kitchen staff, which I thought was odd because no other restaurant had asked me that for takeout especially, I understand dining in - of course. Not to butcher The Mule or anything, but I would have been content with taco bell due to the food I received and how much I overpaid. Overall, still a nice place to try out if you are in the area, they are at a really nice location.

Crazy good tacos. Tried pork belly, fish, vegetarian and my personal fav The chicken! Margarita pitchers decent too. Fantastic little covered garage turned into outdoor dining.

One of my favourite spots in Hamilton! I love bringing friends here when introducing them to the great food spots in the city and they always fall in love. Food is amazing, service is always quick and great, staff is friendly. You need to eat here! They’ve got my favourite queso and guacamole in the city but their chips are the best part! Chicken taco is so much better than you’d expect. Fish is always a good one and the Taco Bell is a staple. If you can get the nachos, those are also awesome! They’ve also got a great little patio.

Great atmosphere and environment, delicious tacos, a variety of hot sauces to choose from including an in house made hot sauce, great cocktails and flights of beer. Call ahead when possible during peak dinner hours and weekends. Enjoy!

I had heard a lot about this place by colleagues and family. We finally went and we sure weren’t disappointed. I ordered the queso with tortillas and guacamole. I then had a tower of calamari. We had a nice bottle of wine. We were celebrating and wanted to try a new place. We weren’t certainly pleased with the service and food. They gave us complimentary Brussel sprout tacos on corn soft tortillas. We hadn’t tried the tacos but that’s what they are known for. The manager (I think) gave us complimentary tequila sunrise shots for our celebration. Do go try this funky place.

The drinks here are amazing!! Definitely try making reservations if you can, the waitlist can get pretty long. The spicy margarita is a hit, as well as the tequila flight.

Very friendly customer service, always ask with we needed something. The food quality was good, but for the salmon ceviche could be a little bit better. Tacos was delicious too, the pork belly was amazing experience. The place was good and cozy, they have a patio part on the side of it restaurant. Definitely will be coming back when I have a chance.

My partner and I visited the Mule for dinner the other week and we were a bit disappointed. While the atmosphere is cool, the music was far too loud and most importantly, the food lacked flavour and left us feeling underwhelmed. I'll give credit to the staff though who were very friendly and working hard on a busy night. Just wish the food lived up to our expectations.

Fabulous staff, great menu & drinks! Good was a bit slow to get out, but with the wait! Definitely a creative & delicious menu. ALL gluten-free!!! The bacon & chorizo nachos were fantastic, but my hubby was really hoping for chorizo or bacon. It is there but more of a dried or fried bits of it. Definitely recommend trying this place out!!

I literally dream about these tacos! I’m not a vegetarian but I tend to gravitate towards the veggie options because they’re so good! The drinks are creative and the staff is so inclusive and friendly. I can’t wait to visit again!
