First and definitely the last time visiting this horrific restaurant.Worst possible service I have ever experienced , staff are rude and the food wasn’t even that good . If I could give a zero I definitely would. Absolute nightmare of an establishment. You might as well eat at Tim Hortons and you would get better food and service. Never in my life have I ever felt such disrespect at a restaurant.

Great Halal Lebanese food for dine in and takeout. The place is nice and well organized. Table service is available. All foods are served fresh. Salad items are really delicious. Ideal for family dinner and get-together. Lunch and dinner options are available.

Always fresh, high quality food. Some times service in the restaurant can be a bit unhurried, but the food makes up for it. I love the fattoush salad and tomato and cauliflower to start. You can't go wrong with the chicken shish tawook sandwich— nothing beats that pickle in the middle!

I've never tried Zatar with cheese. It was fantastic! The server was very patient and helpful with my novice ordering skills too. I also did not know that I could like zucchini or eggplant, but evidently I can. And what they do with cauliflower is nothing short of spectacular.

left a one star rating as there was no option for zero. I’m sure the food is good but after ordering a large order for 120 $ this rating is more for the service I encountered when we were missing 2 shawarmas. I heard my daughter read a long list to the restaurant and then repeat it. The order was on time but came back without two items. I phoned and they told me we never ordered them . I was then told if we did order them, we were not charged for them. When I told her I heard the list my daughter read to their staff which included the items, she told me it must have been communication issues. They offered for me to come in and get one shawarma. The food was decent but this left a bad taste in my mouth

This was a hard star rating, I wanted 3.5, it's a toss up between here and paramount. Pros and cons to both. For example, the starter bread at paramount is fresh baked...la Luna is packaged. I found the meat very salty (kefta) and the chicken moist and we'll cooked. It's honestly a toss up... but I'd go paramount (location depending) over la Luna.

This is a quick walk from work. The food is excellent. I get the lunch special of ab shawarma and salad, and it is a great price for the amount of food you get, I would definitely recommend it!

It had been years since I had eaten at La Luna. We couldn't dine inside (Covid restrictions) however that didn't matter, we ate outside, in the elements, in February. La Luna's food is so outstanding, the weather couldn't reduce the pleasure of eating the BEST Middle Eastern cuisine in Hamilton.

La Luna has several different locations and whether you go to this one or one of their other venues the food is consistently very good. The Mazza is well worth getting if you are dining with another person but be prepared to take home leftovers because it's a lot for 2.

Horrible food. It was literally the worst middle Eastern food I have ever had in my life. The food had no flavour. The pita bread was store bought and cold. The hummus was the same as the one you buy from Costco. The salad only had lettuce - no other vegetables. The Modemmes was tasteless and cold. The only thing I liked were the 2 grilled mushrooms that came with the platter. The service was horrible. Waiter did not seem to care about our experience. I am definitely not ever coming back here.

Great place to try since unique and delicious cuisine. I ended up getting a few things and it was all very new to me, but it was all excellent. The server was decently attentive but we had to flag her down since there was a long period of being ignored while we were eating our meal. The price was a little high, but it was acceptable for the quality of the food we got. Worth a try if you've never tried this route of food before.

We ordered falafel sandwich, falafel was very dry, kibbe was good, babaganush was just unattractive, mostly tahine, we ordered manakish meat and veggy, the appareance was dreadful, the one with spices, was so loaded that couldn't swallow. First time, no very good experience.

I feel sorry for anyone who ate the chicken and meat thinking they had shawarma. Both their chicken and beef "shawarma" have absolutely nothing to do with shawarma in terms of taste, texture, cut, nothing. And it's not like it's hard to find good shawarma. Literally every cheap shawarma place in Hamilton makes decent shawarma. There is no way the owner is Lebanese or even remotely related to the area because this would be a huge disgrace. To make matters worse, the food was way too oily, even the aluminum plate itself seemed to be dipped in oil that I had to wipe it off to be able to handle it. The only reason this isn't a 1* review is the falafel which was incredible. Very light, airy, not too oily. The hummus was decent too. In just a little shocked that they called their chicken and beef 'shawarma'. Yeah, no, it's not.

My friend had pre-ordered food for our large group so it was a different experience from just walking in and ordering. I believe there were 4 different type of meat skewers that kept being brought to our tables. It was never ending. The meat was cooked well and not dry. There was at least one that was on the saltier side. It was meat overload with some pits, hummus, fries and rice to try and balance it out. We finished off the meal with some delicious baklava. It was just the right level of sweetness; sweet but not feeling like you’ll get a cavity the next day. The servers came at the right times to remove extra plates and skewers so that the tables weren’t so cluttered as the meal went on.

I just ordered two kabab Sandwiches for pick up, when I got home I opened them, they put two shish Tawook instead of two shish kabab that I ordered. I called them five time , they did not answer the phone to tell them the mistake about my order while the store is open until 11:00 pm. That is disrespectful people and poor customer service. I will never go back there.

Decided to try something new during quarantine. Picked up an order of 'La Luna's Platter". I was floored by how good everything was! The meat was seasoned superbly and the rice, veggies and pita were done to perfection. The service was excellent as well. We had to wait for 5ish minutes as we arrived early but the man working behind the counter shared some Baklava with us as we left. I am very excited for their inevitable reopening so that I may try more dishes.

Coming from a Middle Eastern background there is a lot of Shawarma sandwiches that are not really authentic or Lebanese. I found this restaurant to be right on. We got different sandwiches and they were definitely Lebanese made. The baklava was to die for. All-around great experience at a great fair price. Will be visiting again when we are back in the city.

Very tasty food and always friendly staff. EDIT: Sometime this year (2012) lunch prices went up... way up. Lunch will now net you $18 for the combo platter.

i was here today and got treated very rudely. the worker was a white middle aged woman with short blonde hair. i did not get her name but she was being extremely discriminatory and racist. me and my friend were waiting to order in front of the register when another white lady came in and instead of serving us and goes to her takes her order right away. when asked why she did this she said it wasn't clear to her that we wanted to order??? is standing in front of the ordering register not clear enough she could have just asked us. instead she avoided even looking at us and was clearly being hostile. i am never coming here again and i'm telling everyone about this terrible service. i ended up leaving without getting any food. do not give this place your money.

The wait for the food is considerably long the atmosphere is subpar and at 25 dollars for a shawarma plate it's over priced. The place is clearly under staffed, with some tables left with out service for 30 minutes. The food while expected to be bursting with flavour was lack lustre at best.

We stopped by and got a chicken shawarma and a falafel wrap. It was a very pleasant surprise. Hamilton has alot of shawarma restaurants but La Luna really stood out, the chicken was juicy, and nicely seasoned. Falafel was fresh and tasty, not dry at all! Also their garlic sauce is on point. Not watered down, and the taste of garlic is very present. I loved it. Excited to try more items off the menu.

Great food. They offer a gf version of a shawarma without the pita bread - it proved to be safe to eat for a celiac. They never have your order ready to go for pick up, they seem to wait until the order is paid before making it. They've forgotten items in my orders twice, so be sure to carefully check your order before you leave. Reasonable, but the best deal is through their La Luna Express - get the Family Feast for $60, loads of delicious food for a very good price. It really is enough for a family get together. I'm a big fan of their falafel sandwich. They use a spice I haven't had elsewhere.

Public safety alert and regular customers please read carefully. I am a regular customer for a long time at this location. I had previously bad orders but I didn't care much until last night. I walked in around 8pm ordered 2 falafel sandwiches with special basic simple instructions and i asked her please make sure it's not saggy. The guy at kitchen did exactly the opposite and mixed very old falafel with new falafel in one sandwich. Here is why, the guy in the kitchen has some issues and he did this awful sandwich in purpose. He is not fit to be trusted. I will never go back to this restaurant as I fear what might go into the food before i eat it.

I love the ambiance at La Luna. It almost feels like going on vacation. It is a good place to try new things. Everything is fresh, straight from the Levant and never stored long before being served, a fact that is very well reflected in the taste of the food. Try the baba ganoush for an appetizer.

Food was excellent, very fresh and flavourful. A tad overpriced, but the serving size was very generous. We went close to close so some menu items were no longer available and server seemed a little rude when we asked to be seated elsewhere since we had a sleeping child. Otherwise the food was a must try.

Top notch, authentic Lebanese cuisine. Everything is made fresh and from scratch. Zatar is amazing, and if you don't know what it is, try it. I live in Youngstown NY near Niagara Falls, and making the trip here is always well worth it. The lentil soup is spot on too. Just like everything else on the menu. Take some bread home, and maybe a pound of baklava. Just a single order if you're not feeling disciplined. Sachtine!

Been going to La Luna for years, love their beef shawarmas, falafels, fatoush salads. I have enjoyed everything I have tried there. Location is in an up and coming area of Hamilton downtown core. With all the development at this corner, this restaurant is a Goldmine. My biggest worry is they get bought out by developers. Will be very sad if they are gone.

Since I was first introduced to the La Luna close to home (easy walking distance) by a friend a couple years ago, not once have I been disappointed with their service with the many times I've been there. All around their service and unique Lebanese style food is excellent, as well their meal prices are pretty reasonable. Honestly I have no complaints and would highly recommend them.

We picked it based on the reviews. We order 2 plates and some babaganoush and it ended up being about 70$$$. When we opened the food we were so dissapointed. The vegetables were soggy and overcooked. The meat was not fresh and it was not a big portion. We felt like we were really ripped off paying 70 dollars for it. We didn't even eat much of it because it was just not good at all. It was not authentic lebanese food. I have no idea who is reviewing this place at 4 stars but it is not accurate at all! Do not order here unless you want to waste your money

I visited this place from out of town and the service was friendly but very slow. The taste was not authentic at all, in fact, it had nothing to do with Lebanese food. It looked like the person who made it had no knowledge or whatsoever of the Lebanese taste. Items on the menu were not cheap so you can imagine the additional disappointment of paying high price for a sub zero quality food. I don't think I would go there again or even recommend it to my friends living in Hamilton.

I invited my family to come over for a dinner at Luna. Originally I had tried the other location on the mountain and I fall in love with everything; THIS LOCATION I DIDN'T! Our server left us with lots of mixed feelings. We ordered appetizers, manakeesh, and main plates along with raps. The restaurant was not busy at all but Appetizers took 30 mins to get to the table. We asked for Fatta; it came after 1 hour undone and super watery. Our main dishes some were served and the rest arrived half an hour later. It was just complete mess. We end up spending $100 leaving unsatisfied with taste, service and value. Totally, regret coming here. Luna ruined my family dinner night... so upset!!!

If I could give my experience at this store a rating it wouldn’t even be worth one star. It seemed as though the employee at the register was racially motivated- and by that I mean she was racist towards me and my friends... I would describe her as a white, middle aged women, short/mid length (blonde ish) hair. Me and my friends went to this restaurant because we are familiar with it, but will not be visiting hostile and disturbing location let alone chain for as long as physically possible. We left with no food after the dispute because our dignity was more valuable. I can assure you all that there is better food at welcoming* places in the area. Not to mention that a customer was rude and the employee enabled their behaviour!?

Walked in on a Wednesday night with a group of friends. The service was great and the girl serving us was very nice. The food was a little pricey but worth it. Everything tasted so great and they are so accommodating with substitutions with the sides. Although the website said that the resteraunt was open until 11:00pm, they closed at 10:30, therefore we felt a bit rushed when 10:30 came around. Overall great food and great service.

I’m from Toronto and was visiting Hamilton with my family and decided to google restaurants near by. Came across this Lebanese restaurant tonight and decided to give it a try. Wow, incredible food just like back home. My family and I were impressed. Everything from the hummus, to tabouli, baba ganoush, the kobeh and chicken were awesome and delicious!! I wish I can put a ten star on this one! Will definitely be coming back. Well worth the trip. Not many restaurants like this in Toronto. Owner and staff were awesome and the baklava is to die for!! The food here is delicious. There are plenty of menu options to choose from. While the prices are a little high, it's worth it because of the huge portion sizes and great taste. I went with 3 other people and instead of getting individual dishes, we got a family size platter to save money. At the end there was still some leftovers. The staff that we encountered were also very polite and accommodating. When one member our group forgot his glasses at the table, the waitress ran outside to give them.

Myself and friends went to La Luna downtown location on king at queen in Hamilton. Evening 6.30 pm. Restaurant was not that busy only 3 tables were occupied and had around 3-4 pick up customers. We waited almost more than 45 mins after we ordered our food but they didn't served it yet. They were more concentrating on pick up orders rather dine in customers. People came after us and were served way before us. At the end we had to leave hungry and even that time our otder was not ready. We ordered only 2 main course and a sandwich which was not that time consuming order. Very disappointed with the service..

Main course is a little overpriced ($20-$50) . Otherwise the prices are fine and it's a great atmosphere. Traditional Lebanese food like tabbouleh (salad), kobbeh, manakeesh, shish tawok and includes tahini, garlic and hummus based sauces. There is a location on the mountain as well and I'm sure it is the same quality, I have heard contested opinions. The other places in downtown Hamilton that sell "Mediterranean food" can be characterized with takeout containers and small restaurants as opposed to La Luna, a better dining situation for sure.

Very good, and authentic, middle Eastern food, in a Lebanese style. The breadth of menu choices is also greater than most, including labneh and kibbeh, two of my favourites. The value is, however, not so great: the prices have recently increased while the portions are average. The ambience and decor are plain, but clean. The service is first rate and friendly. This used to be a five star place for me, but the value has diminished.

We have always liked it here. Haven't been in a while, so we were looking forward to it. I have to say that we were very disappointed. we sat down and the first thing we noticed was the filthy table. It looked clean, but own arms were sticking to the table. When i went to the restroom, my feet were sticking to the floor. We order the fattoush salad and the Shish tawook. The fattoush salad had very little flavor and almost no cauliflower. I think we found two baby pieces the size of my fingernail. I know that there is supposed to be a spice called sumac in the salad dressing but there was none. It tasted like just oil. The server had no personality and didn't even come and check to see how our food was. Unfortunately we won't be back.

i tried this location for the first time after many recommendation for a dinner with family. the portions in general are very large, the shwarma was good but the Kafta plate (3 skewers) were dry, dense (not pure meat, too much flour added I assume), and looked like reheated from the fridge!. the cesar salad was a bunch of lettuce with 2 slices of tomato and 2 slices of cucumber! I would would have preferred if they reduced the no. of skewers for a better quality kafta Disappointing and expensive.

First off, the food is delicious. We consistently purchase the hummus, tabbouleh, chicken shwarma, vegetable rice with garlic, manakeesh (chicken and cheese and vegetable and cheese) items and they are consistently fresh and amazing. My problem is with the lack of staff most of the time, inaccurate pricing on the website compared to in store (for pick up purchases), the lack of owning the responsibility of inaccuracies, and the long wait times for food. I was told today my order would be 20 minutes, I got to the store after 25-30 minutes and proceeded to wait another 20 in store for it to be ready. Prices are at least a dollar more for every item in store and it's chalked up to "minimum wage increases" but they don't offer the website price. It isn't my fault that they haven't updated their website yet. Several times it's also been super busy and there are only a few waitresses who are running around looking stressed out as they have to keep up with pick up and in-restaurant orders. If you're increasing the price due to minimum wage, it likely means you're cutting hours too, and in the end you're wasting the customers time and money as we aren't getting better service. Food is still good, but when will the quality start to be sacrificed?

Always enjoy the food - beautifully spiced and consistently tasty! Two adults shared a platter and app with lots to take home. No kids menu or smaller options for them, but our 8 & 10 y.o. each enjoyed a mannakesh and shared an app. Iced teas a little pricey - 2 for $7. Willing to pay more for good food, but the bottled drinks are unnecessarily higher in price - I'd pay that much for homebrewed iced tea! Service was good - we went early, so it wasn't busy at all. Big bright windows with a quiet view of traffic and passersby.

Definitely unique flavours compared to other Mediterranean restaurants. However, on our last visit, the shish tawook chicken was quite dry. Unfortunately, we also had a very disappointing experience with service which was incredibly slow, even though the restaurant was not busy. I had to go up to the counter 3 times to ask to place orders and beverage refills. When we were attended to, the waitress was very pleasant.

The food is wonderful! The prices were a bit on the high side so I was a bit hesitant, but the food is so good! And you get so much food, I can eat a lot of food and still had enough to bring home an entire lunch. I don't eat beef or mushrooms and they were able to substitute, more vegetables and a different kind of chicken. The chicken, shawarma and grilled chicken, were very well seasoned and not dry at all. The roasted cauliflower and baba ganoush are the best!

If you would have asked me yesterday I would have said ten stars but after this evening I wouldn't even give them a star. Second time I've had my order messed up recently. Food was cold and did not taste good After calling We weren't clear on what a "free item" was. So I called, asked for owner. He just yelled at me. Very rudely and being ignorant. Complaining it would hurt him to credit me anything. He did agree to $20 (meal was around $40) passed the phone to a younger woman still yelling. All I said was wow He's pretty rude and ignorant and click. Two minutes later the owner calls back yelling again saying I swore and he has a witness I'm band and he's calling the cops The young woman replied ya she swore she said rude and ignorant I had a panic attack Never had someone I paid to do something right call yelling and threaten me I guess with some success in business it's easy to forget where you came from or that word of mouth is powerful As a proud Hamiltonian this business makes our city look bad a former 20 year customer

The Lebanese food at this restaurant is fantastic. If you have never tried Lebanese food, you are in for a unique taste experience. The food is always fresh and hot when served. The choices are numerous and you will have to go a few times to try everything on the menu. Flavours are one-of-a-kind and top-notch from the appetizer to the main course. The pace of service is perfect for allowing time to enjoy appetizers, salad, and a main course in a unhurried atmosphere. We did not make it to any dessert options but we did end up with a generous left over portion to enjoy for lunch at home the next day. The server was pleasant and very helpful with menu information and suggestions. The portion sizes are very generous and priced accordingly. We were a party of 4 adults, all with appetizers, salads, and main course plates, and our bill was about $110 (including taxes). Main courses are in the $20 range and very generous in portion size. Anyone who gives this restaurant a rating less than 5/5 obviously is not a fan of Lebanese food so just ignore their review comments.

Take out at La Luna is fantastic! The food is always fresh and so tasty. We have been to many different similar style restaurants in the past (from Montreal to Sarnia) and LaLuna tops them all. LaLuna is a local family restaurant (they have a few around Hamilton) and their food is unbelievable!

Took over an hour to get our main dishes. Others who arrived later got their food before us. When we got there after 5:00 p.m. there was only one other table occupied. One person wanted Beer but they do not have a liquor licence. The food was Okay but lacked flavour. The server was helpful and courteous. This was a kitchen problem. The parking was limited and awkward. The fireplace added to the atmosphere which was nice.
