Terrible Service. Took us 45 minutes to get our drinks (they were not busy at this time) - And 3 tables got their food before our table of 2. No efforts were made by the staff (manager included) to make up for this very long wait.

We had a lovely dinner there last night. The food was varied and delicious. John, our waiter, was amazing. He made it very clear that he was there to serve, encouraged, almost demanded, questions LOL. His knowledge of the menu and beverage offerings was impressive and what one might dream about. I am often under impressed but John was sincere and walked the 3 out of 4 of us who were new to Bread Bar through all the options. Especially for me as a non meateater. The portions are fairly large and very filling. 2 shared an entree and the other 2 of us had to take half home. Everything was great from the location, the ambiance, the design of the restaurant and decor and especially the staff. Very well done Bread Bar, kudos.

We ordered the pizza with the truffles, and asked for the chili flakes on the side. The pizza came with the chili flakes on the pizza instead of on the side. Our server apologized for it and provided a free milk to calm our daughter's mouth down and got a smaller pizza of the flavor we had originally ordered just for her (without chili flakes). Great recovery. What could have been a bad experience was made a great experience. P.S. I have not had a single flavor of pizza from Earth to Table Bread Bar that I didn't like. This was our first visit to the downtown location.

The aesthetic in this restaurant was a 10/10, no doubt! However, we were super impressed with the food. To start, the loaded french fries were great. But for our salads and bowls, the chicken was bland and the dishes lacked flavour. The restaurant did have two large parties there on that date and at that time, which could have effected the quality. Would try one more time though!

Truly an amazing experience! We are actually still in the restaurant but I couldn't wait to write a review! Gorgeous decor & lighting. Very comfortable seating (you can opt to sit on the small patio as well!) Staff are friendly & attentive. We came for lunch and it was pretty quiet but soon picked up with the business lunch crowd. Food was fantastic. I had a watermelon salad and my partner had the steak sandwich and soup of the day, corn chowder! We both fully enjoyed our lunch and finished it off with a power cookie (AMAZING & VEGAN!!!) and a coffee (they have Almond milk and coconut!) We will definitely be back!! Thank you so much!

We used to love this place and go there every month or so. I always got the cheeseburger, it was a really delicious, large homemade hamburger. Probably my favourite hamburger! Well, sadly we went for our anniversary this week and the burger got completely demolished. The bun was about the size of a wonder bread bun and the burger itself was about 15% the size of the old one. Tasted like a Wendy's hamburger I really hate posting negative reviews, especially a place I enjoy. But the management of this business is going downhill FAST if they're willing to sacrifice the quality of food that much. So sad to see. Please fix this, guys.

Excellent ! Loved the fact that as a solo dinner I was made to feel as welcome as a group (not always the case). Food was tasty, could have been a bit hotter but then I like my food hades hot. I will be returning soon for more of the cheddar and broccoli risotto.

Amazing atmosphere. Food is delicious. The pizza is crust is crunchy and chewy. Their soup of the day is full of flavour and texture. Their upside down cake is spongy, chewy, and hot paired with cold ice cream - divine!

Fantastic experience really great overall. I was part of a group with a private menu so I can't quite rate this 5 stars without a normal experience. But the staff went above and beyond, the food was incredible and timely. Also they were very organised and knowledgeable about each dish without us having to ask. Really impressed with this place. I assume upon my return I will be eating them 5 stars

We were seated quickly inside. Tables were spaced out sufficiently. Service was quick and food was excellent! We ordered the hummus to start and our mains were the pizza (bee sting) and taco salad. Everything was delicious! Will definitely be back to try rest of menu.

It was busy when we arrived, and we were offered the bar for dinner which we don't usually love but we were pleasantly surprised! Our host at the bar was great, offered amazing suggestions, gave enough space and we didn't feel like we were being invasive or too close. The bar is spacious enough that it felt more like dining than sitting at a bar. The Princess Pickle Pizza is amazing, the roasted garlic soup was amazing, everything we tried was so good. I will be returning for sure. Great for a date night, or a small group but it seemed like it would be tight for a large group.

Excellent service, Kyle was knowledgeable. The food was exceptional hands down the best pizza in Hamilton. The dessert menu is to die for, fudgy brownie was the best I’ve tasted in a long time. Sat out on the patio, Atmosphere was fantastic. We requested for paper menu and they were very accommodating. I will recommend this place to everyone. Don't forget they also have take away.

Yummy Food! We got The Rob and the Umami burger with their soup! My boyfriend loved the burger and soup and said it's one of the best he's had! And I also enjoyed the pizza very much! I replaced the caramelized onions to spinach and it was delicious! Also, our order took a lot of time to make and even though it wasn't needed, one of the girls there gave us croissants! Oh and the chocolate peanut butter milkshake was good too. Enjoyed the food! Recommend!

My first time eating in a restaurant since March 2020. The service was wonderful and the atmosphere was relaxed. I really like the idea of no menus. Well done :) Most ppl were eating on the patio so I got to have a nice, easy meal with a great view of the restaurants features. Beautiful atmosphere and lighting! I had the Umami burger with their signature loaded fries and it was excellent! Recommend!

I’m obsessed with their apple and bacon pizza, it is amazinggg if you’re into sweet and savoury flavours. Had the calamari to start, the sauces it comes with are unreal. My friend and I wanted to split the Mac and cheese meal with the kale Caesar salad and they were kind enough to actually plate them separately so we didn’t have to split it up at the table. (This meal was also delicious!) Loved the strawberry mule as well ???????? All in all great experience as usual. Bread bar never fails! If you have never been, you’re missing out.

Very filling, unique take on a restaurant/bar. The pastry bar at the entrance is free! First of many sweet surprises. I was feeling adventurous and tried the Princess Pickle pizza, house lemonade, and the dark chocolate cherry bread pudding. So stuffed! The pizza was a little doughy, making it difficult to eat without the delicous toppings sliding off, but I managed. The chicken wasn't little cubes of breast, but chunks of tender dark meat! I enjoyed the fresh dill and pickles. The red pepper flakes reminded me of a clam linguine dish my mom made a lot, but there was definitely no clams in the pizza (though that might be even better!). The house lemonade was carbonated, another surprise, but tasted fine. I might have tried something else if I knew it was carbonated. Personally, I was expecting more chocolate and more cherries in the bread pudding. Every few bites I would get a cherry surprise and no noticeable chocolate at all until about halfway through. The bread was perfect - flaky, flavourful, dry enough to soak up some white chocolate sauce and melted ice cream, but moist enough for a good mouth feel. The focus was definitely the pudding rather than the dark chocolate/cherry - would recommend changing the name of the dessert or adding either a dark chocolate sauce or more chunks of dark chocolate/cherries to the dish. Or having a customizable bread pudding option with different sauces/toppings.

They are my go to for the best pizza slices for lunch in downtown Hamilton. The fresh made crust and high quality toppings bring me back regularly. That they are very conveniently near the corner of King William and James St. North certainly helps. It's great that the patio are is now open.

Amazing pizza! More authentic Italian crust. Found the Bee Sting pizza a favourful rainbow of taste and with promised sting of a little spice dotted throughout the pizza. Mpizza was a wonderful melding together of creamy and sharp favours. Beer was good too! Great place to go for atmosphere, good quality and unique food and good service. Would remmond going earlier than the set busy times as sound level of conversations could bother you, if you sensitive to sound.

Great place to go with two or more people. All the dishes are large and can be easily shared. I went with a friend and costed about $35 for each of us (two food items and a drink). What I had was the bread plate (hummus, spiced tomato preserve, ricotta cheese, plum preserve), apple & bacon pizza (white sauce, mozza, smoked cheddar, caramelized onions, fried sage, ricotta cheese), and princess b cocktail.

Been there for the first time and will be my last time too. Been told by the server thay pizza is great so we did order it.it called prince .... came with chicken .dill. white sauce. I havent seen any dill on it. And the chicken was the worst part. Kitchen wasnt fresh at all it smells and color was dark. Told the server your chicken wasnt fresh at all but ate it.customer service 0 .

Been to the Locke Street location multiple times, this was my first time at the James Street location and I was not disappointed. From the moment we showed up, our server John was nothing short of incredible. You could tell he had a real passion for his job and felt confident and proud of the restaurant he worked for. As much as the food was to die for as always, the Cheese Louise pizza was drool worthy, John definitely was the reason we had such a great experience. Thanks again for an amazing night out especially during these times. Can’t wait to return soon!

Well ...we made a reservation, table for 3 for lunch when we showed up for lunch they had no record of our reservation, we were told the guy who took the reservation must not have put it into the system and they unfortunately were not able to accommodate us as they were at capacity due to covid . So we were not able to try this place at all.. super bummed!!

I was at bread bar today on the outdoor patio, where they had tents set up so we could still enjoy the food during COVID. All of a sudden a storm came in and blew over all the tents, all the plates and glasses off the table and some tents even hit cars. The staff handled it EXTREMELY well!!!! They were amazing! They were calm, cool and collected. Their first priority was making sure all the customers and pedestrians were okay. They let us all go inside to stay out of the wind and lightning and handed all of us masks as soon as we got in. This unpredictable situation was something that no one could have been prepared for and I was extremely impressed with the way the staff at bread bar on James street handled it! Way to go guys!

Great food and service. Their umami burger is juicy inside with a bit of crunchy by cheese and pickles. And the side soup is creamy and rich. The bread pudding is soft and moist, the portion is big, suggest share with someone. I am curious of their Sunday brunch, for sure will find a time to try it out.

Fantastic service. Food was just OK. We had the mussels and 2 different pizzas. Mussels were kind of bland, both pizzas had thin crust (great) but were slightly undercooked making the thin crust doughy and soggy. The Margarita was OK, but I was slightly disappointed with my Sammy C pizza as the goat cheese didn't have much bite to it. Overall a good experience, and other menu items may be fantastic, but for the prices we'll go elsewhere for pizza.

I just changed the rating to a one star because they also messed up the order. I asked for the condiments for the burger on the side and they only did it for one burger. In the end, it is amazing how a few mistakes can ruin a much anticipated lunch with my daughter in the hospital. Heard this place had great food so we ordered take out for my daughter who is at Hamilton General. I ordered loaded fries and a salad but to my surprise they didn't provide any cutlery. They told me they usually don't provide cutlery due to being environmentally friendly but I guess customer service takes a back seat. I assumed they would provide cutlery on take out orders or at least ask if I needed some. Needless to say the hospital fracture Clinic doesn't have any forks and we'll have to eat everything cold later. Great food but maybe think about applying some common sense customer service with environmentally friendly policies.

Amazing experience highly recommend for one of the best Hamilton eats! Wow the interior design was so beautiful, service was great and food was a treat! I am still thinking about that pizza ????. A little expensive but definitely worth the price, salad was so delicious and different with fresh squash. Pizza was nice with the hit of spicy and hint of sweet. Can’t wait to go back whenever I’m in Hamilton again!

Great restaurant with customer service in mind. Enjoyed a delicious meal on the patio and received amazing service and will definitely be returning. 5 stars on everything!! We ordered the truffle fries and it came with blue cheese, I asked if they can put it only on half, the server returned with 2 plates, 1 with the blue cheese, the other without, delicious! Then ordered a 18" Wise guy pizza, OMG! Delicious! I ordered the eggplant parmigiana with a side of my choice, arugula and fennel salad, so good! We were so satisfied with our meal and service. We received a surprise from our waitress Siobhan for a mishap, totally not necessary but greatly appreciated. Thank you Earth to table for an amazing afternoon on your patio. Hope to be back soon

AMAZING! A delicious way to start my night out in Hamilton! I had gone there for the famous eggplant pizza but since they are earth to table, it wasn't available...but John...the AMAZING server came to my rescue with a delicious combo of two veggie pizzas in one! DELICIOUS! And bonus...my drink was huge! Great food! Great service! A must try when you're in Hamilton! Thank u Bread Bar!
