We had a group of 11 people for a birthday party this past Friday night. We had to wait 40 minutes after our reservation to get a table, however the manager and the employees went out of there way to accommodate us without forcing the group taking up our table out. The manager was very friendly continually asking if we were ok and bringing us drinks. The food was amazing as usual, no complaints at all. The Keg and manager at this location took care of the group for the delay in getting the table. Thanks for this enjoyable experience.

Having eaten at the Keg for many years at a variety of locations I have certain expectations (I like to eat in the bar area). 1. A warm greeting from staff behind the bar when I walk in..... Didn't even get a smile. 2. Prompt service (drinks) ..... Short staffed and had to wait about 15 minutes. 3. Attentive service .... Bartender was busy chatting up the young ladies working the bar area. We were not the number one priority. 4. Quality .... the plates given us for bread were dirty... I'm talking fingers prints and chunks of something. 5. Good food ... YES! The food was good. 6. A thank-you when leaving .... Nope ... no one around, other than the servers chatting at the bar. Our total bill .... $75 will no alcohol...... I will be reluctant to go back to this location.

We went to The Keg in Guelph on March 14, 2020 and our server was Matthew D. – Previously I had only been to the Keg once, about 10+ years ago with a group of people and the experience was nothing special to speak of. Beginning of March, a friend had recommended the Keg in Guelph to us, so we decided to go to Guelph for my birthday dinner with my wife. Right from the time we sat down, he was there within a couple minutes and introduced himself. The Keg was very busy when we arrived and when the drinks were ordered, he came back right away just to let us know that the bar was back-logged and it would be a few minutes longer. He did not just let us wait, he kept us informed which we really appreciated. Matthew was very helpful and knowledgeable about the menu and gave us a couple suggestion which was spot on… we had a very delicious meal. Throughout the meal, he was very personable… it wasn’t just business or his job, it was like a conversation with a friend. He made us feel special which very seldom happens to us when we go out for a meal. Making us feel special make us want to come back again. Both the service and meal were both excellent. Servers like Matthew makes a restaurant like yours, a great place where people want to come back.

Really impressed with the level of passion and care that goes into their customer service. The staff are very kind and the food has always been great. We dined here yesterday and had a great experience. The menu was limited, but all the best things are still there apart from the baseball steak. We ran into a couple of cook issues with our steaks as they were pretty different from what we're used to from this location. To be fair though, they did just open up again after months of not working! That said, they were more than happy to recook the steak and went the extra mile by giving us new aides and a dessert as well. There was food removed from our bill after the fact so we tried to have it added back on to pay for it as we felt guilty enough they had remade our food. They ended up doing even more to help us so we left very confused (that level of amazing customer service is so rare, I think we were in shock?) but we were able to leave a really great tip! We've been to this location about 100 times but after this experience I can confidently say that, although we live in Cambridge, we'll go out of our way to drive to Guelph just for the staff and exceptional service.

The Keg franchise is generally excellent no matter where you go. From the ambiance and general atmosphere, to the service and food quality, all well above average. The prime rib was probably the best I have ever been served. The restaurant is absolutely recommended, but not all that easy on the wallet. You get what you pay for.

We recently went to this Keg as the last couple times we went to the one in Waterloo it was disappointing. However we had not been to the Guelph one. It was a nice surprise! The staff were spot on and the meals were nice. We had some nice cocktails before the meal and special coffees after, and it was all grand. Service was excellent.

I also feel like it's too dark in these restaurants, but that's just me lol I highly recommend the prime rib, the steaks are pretty good too, but I definitely have had better. I've been under salted, but very high quality. Delicious food & nice free warm bread. It was my girlfriend's birthday and they gave us a free slice of cake.

Hands down the most accommodating experience for a high maintenance table! Devlin was an allstar keeping the conversation rolling as quick as the wine. She's been one of the top 3 servers our table has seen around the world, and we would have said that before emptying the restaurant of all the sour cream. I arrived before my party to kill some time. The hostess who greeted me was an absolute delight. I said that I would wait at the bar for my group and the bartender was very friendly and personable and she offered me a sample of all the beers there which was unprecedented. God bless her, she gave me four. We had two male servers who were excellent, one was like a ninja. Quiet, anticipatory and precise. They worked very well together and their food and drink recommendations were on point. I had a great experience here, start to finish. Couldn't recommend this place higher. I won't talk about the pricing. It's the Keg. You know how it goes. You get what you pay for.

My wife and I are regular customers of The Keg in Guelph and for the first time in 5 months made a reservation for dinner on Saturday July 18 at 4:30pm. We arrived and were advised that the patio was not available as we had not indicated we wanted patio seating when we booked online. I advised her that there was no allowance on the Keg site to choose where to sit. She disagreed saying something about two sites and eventually left us there in the hot sun while she looked for the manager. She also said we should have asked for patio when booking as it is on their site. She would not accommodate us and we had to go home as we did not want to sit inside. I think they both dismissed us as we are seniors and probably unable to understand their website. At home I then went to Keg site again and booked 2 or 3 dates with no mention of seating anywhere! I also booked twice on Open Table but they do ask if we want STANDARD, BAR or HIGH TOP but nothing about patio seating! So your two employees were wrong and your website should be corrected and we should have been accommodated and not embarrassed. I went back on Open Table and booked next week at Buno Gusto and their site asked quite plainly “inside or patio” so we will make this restaurant our number one destination in Guelph in future. To add insult to injury The Keg reported us to Open Table as NO SHOWS !!! Tal & Bettyanne MacDonald

Love that they have mini dessert options instead of full size so you can get a variety. I would avoid the Asiago rice as an accompaniment..rice tasted stale and old with absolutely no flavor. We arrived early for our reservation and it took 30 minutes past our reservation time to get a table on the patio. Meanwhile, there appeared to be three or four open tables. In the space of that half hour, four groups of folks who had been seated inside at a table, at the bar or arrived after us with the same reservation time were escorted to the patio. No alternate seating options were offered to us though other people waiting were offered alternate spots at the bar or in the dining area - another pair arriving without a reservation were even seated within 5 minutes of arrival. We got a "thanks for waiting" as we were brought to our table, but no apology and no recognition that we had waited 30 minutes past our reservation. The service was hands off, though a second water was brought without my asking. The food itself was sub-par. For a place that grills, the chicken and ribs were surprisingly tasteless. Probably both my first and last visit.

This past Saturday was my wife and my 25th wedding anniversary. We had never been to a keg restaurant before. I decided to take a chance and drive the 1.5 hours to you restaurant. From the time we stepped into your restaurant we were greeted right away. We had a reservation for 7:45 but we were able to be seated right away. Your establishment was very pleasing and clean. The waitress we had was very professional and could answer and questions about the items on the menu. We ordered a salad and wine to start and the main course was prime rib. The prime rib was done to perfection. The waitress was very attentive as I found out she had over heard me toasting my wife for our 25th and brought us a wonderful dessert comp of the restaurant. It was well worth the drive to your restaurant. Wish you had a restaurant closer to where we live. Chuck Cline

Been here with a couple friends while bringing our drinks (water and non alcoholic drinks) since we don't drink. The waitress accidentally toppled the tray full of alcoholic drinks spilling every drop on us drenching us in alcohol and she inadvertently shook he wet hands to further spray us. The restaurant didn't even offer to change our table until we asked since it was drenched and they haven't offered anything in return for this huge mishap that occured. I am amazed of just how careless they were especially after mentioning that we don't even drink alcohol and us now being drenched in alcohol they didn't even seem to be bothered to make our night slightly less miserable. Obviously will never step foot again.

Standard Keg experience, was above and beyond. Little pricy for overall quality and quantity, but definitely enjoyed my meal. The young lady brought my food to my car. As she was leaving, I was expecting a, "have a good one" or something of the like, but she gave me an "enjoy" but it was too late, my "you too" was already queued up. So embarrassing. I enjoyed my meal, I'm sad I can't go back after that. ????

Great service. Food was delicious and the serving size was satisfactory for the price. If you go to the Keg looking for a cheap dinner you'll find yourself lost so dont expect to remain frugal and still eat there. My only complaint is they could use a few more beer choices. Either draft or bottled. I know installing draft lines can be costly depending on the set up but adding a few other bottled options wouldnt upset anyone or kill the overhead if balanced by ordering a case less of the least popular option. But I enjoyed my dinner and so did the Mrs. We left very happy.

This is an excellent Keg location. I've dined here a couple of times, most recently for my wedding anniversary. We came to the Keg to celebrate my parents 50th wedding anniversary. Throughout the planning and confirming the reservation the staff at The Keg in Guelph were amazing!! They not only were fully prepared to handle our large group size of 22, but they were so excited and inviting. Our group ended up being 16, everyone was taken care of with great hostesses and servers. Everyone was extremly satisfied with the meal, beverages, and appetizers. I had ordered balloons, they made sure that it was placed at the table. The Keg will continue to be a favourite of mine and I am soo glad that my parents experienced such a great time and food for their very first keg experience also! Thanks to all the staff on that night and everyone who helped leading up to the reservation date!

Guelph Keg - December 30, 2019 Had a reservation for four to celebrate a birthday at 7pm. Were seated promptly. We waited for over an hour before our entrees were served on plates so hot you couldn't touch them which leads me to believe they spent an inordinate amount of time under the hot lamps. It was busy, but fairly normal for The Keg. My husband and I each had steak - nothing to write home about. The birthday girl had steak and shrimp - it was kind of embarrassing. The piece of steak was maybe a 1.5 inch piece of steak and looked like it had been chopped off the end of real steak. Her husband had chicken and ribs - both so dry even the dipping sauce didn't help much. The service was excruciatingly slow. There was a piece of cheesecake served to the birthday girl which was lovely. Unfortunately, we weren't offered coffee or tea until long after dessert was gone. It was a very disappointing experience. The food and service did not nearly represent the price paid. It will be along time before we go or recommend The Keg to anyone. I hope this helps with future endeavors to provide an excellent dining experience. It would be most helpful if you fixed your customer feedback link on the website.

I was blown away by the classy lounge vibe that this location offers. The fire place was such a nice touch which complimented the cozy and plush booths. My wife and I and kids (our haven for the night...????) have gone to several Keg Steakhouses over time and our experience since moving to Guelph is nothing short of spectacular. The food is delicious, cooked to your liking every time but what makes a restaurant great is the service. Each time we’ve gone, they are always accommodating, make small talk that is pleasant to be a part of of. They are constantly making sure all drinks are full, start by asking if everyone would like a glass of water etc...if you haven’t been, I would encourage you to do so! You won’t be disappointed!

The keg experience is always hit or miss, depending where you go. Brampton being the absolute worst... But I digress. The keg in Guelph is consistantly good , if you go after 8 pm. Anytime before that on a Friday or Saturday and you're gonna feel deflated. Up to a two hour wait..or so the snooty hostess tells you as she hands you that little vibrating coaster. Grab a drink at the bar..watch the game..grab an appetizer. Just make sure you get a table after 8 ..cuz the food quality is top notch. Anytime before that and the food quality drops, exponentially. the ambiance is nice. The dim lighting makes your date look exponentially better. One of the better kegs you will find. And I've eaten at dozens

Been here lots, it's always good. We get prime rib seared quickly on one side and tuna tartare with a side of the sesame slaw they use on their tuna tacos, plus a pitcher of the red wine sangria to share. It's the best combo, and they are always accommodating to our weird requests.

Terribly miss managed. I'm writing this while still at the keg. After exactly 2 hours we are still waiting for a table that we were told would be 1 hour. We called ahead to make reservations which we were told were not available on weekends. Had their Lobster from Summer menu two days ago and it was just awful!! Supposed to be a 12oz tail but I got more like 6oz worth of meat!! Get your lobster from a better place The Keg, it was so overpriced for what I got. Plus the double "baked" potato is now made with regular tiny potatoes...plus waitress told me it came with a bed of asparagus but at the end you just chipped out again and I got green beans... Cheap cheap cheap cheap, not worth my money or my time anymore.

Every now and then, in this broad, spinning world, you stop in for a meal at a higher end restaurant such as The Keg, and you are treated in such a kind, caring and professional manner that it blows your already elevated expectations right out of the ocean. So it was in late July when we dragged ourselves in here, far from home and heavy with the weight of a family accident and hospitalization on our minds. We were cheerfully greeted and given a sweet 2 person booth which suited us perfectly. Our server -Rachel, we believe- took absolutely impeccable care of us and seemed to sense that we were on a low.

Training a server to pause when approaching a table for the patrons to finish the sentence of their conversation would add a subtle but elegant touch. From childhood, we are or should be, taught not to interrupt a conversation and a few seconds of pause at the table will quickly have the patrons attention. Am I picky? Sadly our most recent visit will be our last. My husband’s steak and lobster entree was disappointing. The meat was tough and lobster portion was very small. My halibut was also tough for lack of a better word, and dry. I didn’t finish it. We expect better for $46.00 and $36.00 meals. This was the second time we’ve left this restaurant very disappointed. The positive: the server was was sweet and very accommodating, the garlic mashed potatoes are always a favorite.

Ordered takeout from this location with a gift card around Christmas and again for Valentines Day. Staff was super friendly, and the order was prepared right on time. Barely had to wait 2min. Food was still warm (not hot) after a 10min drive home. But was certainly fine temperature to eat. Appreciated that they put hot and cold items (salad) in separate bags. If you’re craving hot, crisp French fries - don’t order for takeout. Both times we ordered the fries had been put in a container while hot, so had become fairly soggy in their own steam. Very minor letdown in an otherwise pleasant experience !

My company organised a corporate dinner at The Keg after work to recognise our quarterly target achieved. I am a vegetarian! I ordered Caprese salad and it appeared to be a dish made at home. It had mint instead of basil. Didn't care to inform me about the missing basil. Tomato Chopped haphazardly. Just the way I would do at home. Restaurant should be a foundation for people who want to be with their friends and family on social grounds. However, it is clear that they can't entertain vegetarians.

The service was perfect. I can't find any room for improvement. The staff was very pleasant and attentive. The classic prime rib dinner I usually order was not up to the standards of previous meals. However, being someone who never wants to complain, I'd rate it as "ok".

We travelled to Guelph for our daughters Masters defence. We celebrated her success by going to the Keg. There were 6 of us. Our server was Justin. He told us he was a new employee. He was fantastic! From the minute we got there and told him what we were celebrating, he made our stop there so memorable and enjoyable! He went above and beyond what we have experienced here before. I sure hope that the manager realizes what a great choice they made hiring Justin. We could not have asked for better food! Best meal I have had at any Keg. Had the Teryaki Steak and I like well done with no pink. Done to perfection. All of us had our steaks done perfectly. The Keg is usually a bit above my price bracket but I had a gift card so I finally tried the one in Guelph The service staff were excellent but the food was a mixed bag ...... The prime rib was cooked properly (med rare) but had a strange texture almost like pork cottage roll. Still good but not enough taste or fat IMO. Perhaps that is the current style of prime rib but its not my style .... perfectly edible though. Perhaps the affluent are happy paying 30+ dollars for a plate of prime rib and not getting any vegetables but I'm not. The prime rib was a fairly big piece but see above. I would have preferred a smaller piece and some fresh grilled vegetables. The garlic mashed potatoes were perfect ...... The onion flossy stuff .... not so much However the biggest issue with the meal was the dessert. I ordered a cheesecake and what I got was on par with the cheap supermarket mix it yourself and let it sit to gel variety. President's Choice cheesecake is a work of art compared to what was served ..... perhaps that is what the The Keg thinks cheesecake should have a taste and texture like ..... I guess PC should redo their recipe now ....

I had steak and shrimp. The shrimp had no flavour and felt as though they were microwaved. The steak sat in blood with my mashed potatoes even though I ordered med well. My husband had prime rib which was half day. I would not recommend this place and I will not be returning.

Went there with my wife for dinner and we won't be going back. The prices were ridiculous, I ordered the French onion soup and it tasted like it came out of a frozen container, my wife's salad was ok. We both ordered the sirloin Oscar and it was ok, but not great, the scallops were under cooked. For 1 appetizer a soup and salad and 2 entrees the meal cost $186 with a tip included because the service was good. But come on $90 for 2 entrees that were just ok.

My wife and I cannot say enough good things about our experience here. First restaurant outting since Covid and likely our best restaurant experience in general. We were celebrating 14years together and The staff was amazing, my wife has several allergies and the waitress and manager took personal interest in making sure our night was perfect and the food was cooked properly. Our waitress was missing a lot. Maybe she had tables on other side of the restaurant. She was good when she did come by. We were disappointed with the bread it was tough like it sat under the heat lamp for a long time. My steak was over cooked and a bit tough. Also my mushrooms were missing and by the time waitress came around again to check on us my meal was finished. The worst was the $4.50 for the lemonade that was ordered. Waitress said yes they have lemonade. It came and tasted funny (too sour) and when asked what brand it was the waitress said it’s not real but the lemon cordial the bartender uses. That is supposed to be used sparingly not given as a glass full for someone to drink down!! Causes stomach aches. Not impressed with experience here tonight.

The hostess Chloe was very accommodating and friendly..while we were waiting Rachela and Sam served up some great seasonal cocktails and they were super quick and friendly and so were the managers Dani and Amy. When we got seated our server Randy was hilarious and very attentive and had great suggestions that made our dinner that much better. The kitchen manager (Marco) stopped by to check on our table and he was very nice and seemed genuinely interested about how our meals came out. The atmosphere was stellar, the food came out quickly and I would highly recommend the Guelph Keg to anyone for a great night out.

The Keg has gone UP market big time. This was a compromise with our group a mix from all locations. If you're in a lo-lite sexy mood and want to show off your bling, apparently this is the place. Yet the crowd was a good mix of families and older folk along with the target age cohort that still loves steak and seafood mixed on one plate. Service was excellent, and our complex (party of 12+) orders were handled well. Erratic performance on the salads: some were light and fresh, others were gooey with a heavy hand on the dressing. Would try again.

Went to this location for the first time two nights ago and was served by Abby. Ordered a glass of Pinot Noir for myself.. Server had never tried it and couldn't tell me anything about it. My husband ordered a beer by the bottle which he had to pour into the glass himself because the server did not.. Not a big deal but not expected from The Keg. We ordered an appetizer which was run by someone other than our server because she was too busy talking with the co-workers all night to give us the attention required. We never got the bread to our table that was supposed to come and when we were ready for the bill at the end of our meal we had to wait about ten minutes for the server even looked over from the bar where she was talking to her friends and saw us watching and waiting. Mentioned this to the 'acting supervisor' on duty who reassured us that should have never happened and that a 'real' manager would be in touch with us the next day.. I called management the following day just before store close and he hadn't even been passed along the message. Bad service and after bad follow up from management, we will not be returning to this location any time soon.

First of all let me say that my past experiences at the Keg have always been fantastic. Their customer service IN the restaurant has been great, HOWEVER, my experience yesterday was very negative. Wanted to order a take out as our family has been going through some difficulties involving a medical condition and they WOULD NOT take my order via the phone where I would pay them, then go pick up the PAID order when ready (like other less sophisticated restaurants do). My objective was to spend as little time away from home as possible. SO, I had to go in person, pay for the order (since they didn't trust me), come home, then go back 20 or so minutes later to pick up our order. Hope they change this policy.

Prices up, quality down. It's always been rather expensive, but you always got a good meal. The prime rib was passable, but more stringy that I'd like. We avoided cocktails all together, as you weren't getting much under $10. With no appetizer and no desert, the bill came to over $100. We also felt rather rushed by our waiter. Amazing! Delicious food! Wonderful people. Went there on Saturday. It was sooo busy. How ever im so happy we went. We were treated with free wait snacks. We had a short wait which allowed us to experience the bar. Got to try the 'dark & stormy' -keg sized... Amazing! cant wait to try more featured drinks. How ever by the time we enjoyed these drinks we were being relocated to the dining room. Let me say its beautiful in there. Within a minute or two our server treated us with waters and a table bread that was amazing. The server said to try the three cheese butter. Just TRY IT! .. still drooling. We ordered for appetizers a tuna tar tar and the baked bri. Words still cant explain how good our night is going. Loving it. For our entrees i had the new honey glazed salmon. The chef knows how to cook. For my girl friend she had the blue cheese filet.... okay i thought blue cheese was gross... I was shown how its to be enjoyed. this experience was incredible. A little bit of money and we had an evening that is unforgetable!

went to the keg later in the evening. Given that I was paying a lot of money to eat there and that I have had good experiences at the keg before I expected the same this time. We were sitting in the dinning room and we could hear 3 different songs playing which was very annoying. We mentioned this to the server and he shrugged it off saying it was probably the kitchen playing their music too loud. In addition, all of our dishes were dirty and covered in soap scum. When we got our meals the iceberg salad was terrible. I have had it at other places before and loved it the waiter said it was because they ran out of dressing so they made a new one which was discusting and basically pure blue cheese. When our hot meals came out the beans were not even cooked, actually they were raw. Overall a very bad experience at normally one of my favourite places for a nice dinner

Love their food and take on the classics. Be carefull with their themed adult beverages as some are weird and not the most enjoyable, let alone crazy expensive. One of the most amazing thing I've ever eaten were their escargot. It had indian overtones on a classic french appetizer. Pleasantly surprised and a great dance on my tastebuds. Although I had the New York strip loin, my daughters teriyaki top sirloin surpassed my meal. The massed potatoes were yummy, although a carb breaker. Loved the veggies and even ordered a second helping. Just watch your wallet, you can easily spend over $100, with just a couple of items. Great soecial occasion location.

In my experience the level of quality does not matter if you are dining in the restaurant or having take out from The Keg. They take pride in serving the best food and it shows time in and time out. Recently did take out to celebrate anniversary. Ordered a day in advance and food was ready right on time and was hot and made to our orders specification. What I liked was that they gave instructions to heat the food at home if it reduced in temperature on your ride home. We did not need to do this but I liked that they offered it.

The food is great as always. However, the staff are not friendly at all. They don't smile or look you in the eye when they are talking to you, and they do not make you feel welcome. Another huge problem with this keg is that they refuse to do take-out orders. No matter what, they will not take a take-out order, even if they are not busy. The person on the phone told me that I was welcome to come in and order at the bar and then they would wrap it up to go for me. Thanks for offering to waste my time. Horrible customer service.

Considering the Keg Steakhouse & Bar proudly displays the word 'steak' in their name, it is ironic that the nearly $40 steak I ordered was not cooked as I had requested. In my experience 'rare' or even 'medium rare' are fairly common cooking instructions for most experience chefs, especially at a restaurant like this. I was not impressed by the degree to which my steak was overcooked. A slight deviation from my cooking instructions would have been forgivable, but this was far worse. I have to add that there is only one vegan option on the entire menu, which is ironically titled Cauliflower Steak and consists of several pieces of cauliflower placed in a circle on a plate. This dish was laughable at best and was not very enjoyable. The interior of the restaurant is tastefully lit, well decorated, modern and sophisticated. If you're studying interior design perhaps you'd enjoy a visit to the Keg Steakhouse & Bar —just don't order any food.

We usually never have a problem at this restaurant but today we were very disappointed. The fries Were burnt and hard. The fact that it got served shocked me. Burger fell apart and was extremely sloppy. Lobster was over cooked and rubbery. I think the kitchen needs to be looked at again. You can pick and choose when you want to serve good food. The staff needs to be on the same page and consistency is key. It was a sad night unfortunately. We were so excited and our whole mood changed. I hope this reaches management.

They make a nice steak here. The service has always been good. The wine choices are decent. Can't really complain about anything here. If you don't like the keg for whatever reason this location won't turn you but its a great location to eat if you want a solid steak!

The staff were so helpful with my call in order. Pick up was smooth and on time. The meal was still hot after 20 minute drive home and the meal was perfect. 100 percent recommend. Definitely will be going back.

Made a reservation which it appears I now cannot change; due to the fact that apparently nobody at the restaurant bothers to answer the phone. Only made the reservation online due to the fact that I could not get in touch with anyone via phone in the first place. Your customer service needs work.

I ordered curbside pickup last Friday for my entire family and I was very impressed. The food was packaged well and it was still hot by the time I made it home. I was shocked that it tasted just as good as what it does eating it in restaurant. Thank you for a great meal!
