I frequented this establishment years ago before I moved,…then revisited this evening, and we were NOT disappointed. Everything was amazing. Sensational! We enjoyed a delicious meal on the patio. Lovely music, lighting and decorative fountain added to the ambiance. The wait staff was impeccable - polite, timely, and kept the appropriate distance (6ft). The food was perfection. The house red wine matched perfectly with the beef medallions, mashed potatoes and steamed vegetables in a mushroom gravy. The lasagne was divine, as was the Linguine Romero. We finished the meal with cappuccino and creme brule. If you haven't tried Romero's, call and make a reservation or drop by. We highly recommend it!

My Husband and I visited Romero’s after reading the reviews online and finding out it was close to home (7 mins!). We are relatively new to Guelph and decided to spend date night enjoying some Italian together. He ordered the Veal Marsala and I had the Angel Linguini Frutti de Mare as well as bruschetta to start. The food was fresh, hot and so tasty - it was clear this food was made to order and delivered to the table immediately. The customer service was outstanding and we even met Romero himself! Your family are doing an incredible job and are an asset to the Guelph community. We will be back! ♥️

Service was excellent and so was the house wine, but the food was not enjoyable at all. The calamari was so bland, the pasta was not fresh and had an odd flavour to it (my partner couldn't eat his), and the creme brulee had such a thick coat of sugar on top that it was inedible. We were very excited to come here, but sadly were left disappointed.

We had such a good time that I forgot to take photos. The staff were ver attentive and welcoming. We ordered mussels, soup, and the cheese appetizers and they were all very good. For our main course we had the lamb shank, manicotti, lasagna, and veal parmigiana. Everything was delicious and the portions were very generous. So good to have such a great restaurant at the west end of Guelph!

Romero's is a great restaurant in a less than perfect industrial setting, but the ambience is relaxed and comfortable and the food is wonderful. I've probably tried every dish on the menu over the years and haven't been let down yet. We love their chicken souvlaki, but all the pasta dishes are exceptional as well.

From the service to the food...I'm beyond happy. I have no idea why I waited so long to eat here but let me tell you. DON'T WAIT. I had the pecan chicken and just can't believe how good it was!! The veal was also TO DIE FOR. Even the water...it must be filtered because it did not taste like Guelph water. Can't recommend this place enough! To be honest I'm surprised I'm giving this bad review. I was super excited to try this place as I've read and heard great things. We ordered delivery. Chicken suvlaki and lasagna. My wifes chicken meal looked grey and old. My lasagna is basically a cheap giant tiger brand very bland and tasteless. The Greek salad was delicious but not one wedge of lemon anywhere....super weird seeing as we ordered all Greek food mostly. Taziki sauce was amazing but they only sent 8 pita wedges. My order cost around 70 dollars and I feel like this was a very cheap meal. The 2 stars is bc the salad and taziki was good. Overall I would highly recommend people look elsewhere if they want high quality food. Cheers

We visited Romero's after a few years and discovered that it continues to offer excellent, fresh seafood pasta and a pleasant atmosphere. My seafood linguine contained large, fresh shrimp, mussels, scallops and a delicious cream sauce. My spouse's Portobello mushroom pasta was equally delicious. They offer a wide selection of excellent food and a reasonably priced wine list. For a lovely evening out at a reasonable price, this is the restaurant to visit. The patio is pleasant for those who enjoy outdoor eating.

Excellent service and the wine list however limited is still priced extremely well and that's why it gets a second star. Based on the food alone it would be a single star. I went with two app's, the calamari and the bacon wrapped scallops. The calamari was very flour heavy and had absolutely no seasoning. The scallops were exceptionally over cooked. They went with scallops entirely too small to be able to wrap and still get the proper sear and cook. Rather than 6 or 8 small scallops done poorly doing two large scallops properly would have been at the same price point but a better value. And also like the calamari, zero seasoning. For the main I asked for suggestions as to what they do the best and was given a few options. I went with the Romero linguini. Again ZERO seasoning. The cream sauce was extremely thin and very cream heavy. A sauce should stick to the pasta not drown it and run off. The shrimp and scallops with the pasta were not too small or over done, however no sear again. The pasta tasted as it came from a box and was also over done. To finish I went with the creme brulee and again it was done poorly. The cream was over worked, again like it came from a box. The major fail was the sugar crust. It should be thin and delicate, carmalized to a golden shade. However this was burnt and extremely thick. A creme brulee should melt in your mouth not have to be chewed for ten minutes then picked from your teeth. If I was to compare it to another restaurant it would come below even an Eastside Mario's.

I have eaten here many times over the years and there is one thing that is constant, and that is consistency. Tonight with three other guests we had lovely meals, not rushed and each of us commented how tasty each of our entrées were. The only one to have dessert, me, states that the creme caramel was excellent. A great place to go for lunch or dinner. Food was very good, served in a timely manner and atmosphere was very enjoyable. A great place for Italian homemade food. Staff were very friendly and knowledgeable. Would definitely go there again.

The food was really great. But the service here was absolutely horrible. They never came back to check on us. We went our whole meal with no water at all. Our waiter literally just stood around talking to people all night as opposed to actually "waiting" on us. We waited probably 20 minutes after we were done eating for a bill and a box and it was clear our waiter wasn't coming back so we had to get up and ask. Then I when I told our waiter it was the worst service I've received in a long time he says "I'm sorry" and that's it as if he just didn't even care. I won't go back here.

I wasn’t convinced the $19+ asparagus chicken fettuccine special was worth the price. It would have been acceptable at $10-$11. It was a fairly basic-seeming pasta dish that was a bit overcooked (definitely no longer al dente), topped with a somewhat juicy-deficient set of grilled chicken strips that I suspect came from a manufactured cutlet, not from intact whole breast meat. The asparagus in the sauce was too sparse for it to be featured in the name of the dish, and was cooked to an oversoft olive green. My impression was that the pasta itself did not have the distinctive texture nor flavour of being made in-house, something I would have hoped for in a feature pasta entree served at a sit-down Italian restaurant with tablecloths. Portion size was standard/good. Caesar salad (ordered separately for additional cost) was ok — nothing really stood out about it per se. Servers were professional-polite and quietly attentive. I’m told the veal sandwich is excellent, which is why I pulled in to begin with... I’ll have to give that a try next time — for take out. Giving 4 stars, but it feels like I am being kind by rounding up from 3.5. It’s a nice restaurant that perhaps needs to consider upping its culinary game to ensure a healthy future clientele in an era of far better travelled palates and more discerning tastebuds than ever before. Of course, this is all based on just one mere experience... factor in fairness as you will.

Went to Romero’s for a farewell event and the restaurant is cozy and comfortable. Wait staff are efficient without being overbearing. My dinner a veal dish called gypsy veal was excellent, and other persons attending all commented on how good their meal was. Good selection of wine and mixed drinks. Not overly expensive and a nice place to dine. I recommend this small but comfortable dining establishment.

I don't understand how this restaurant has so many good reviews? I ordered take out through skip the dishes and it did arrive in a timely manner which was great but the food was terrible. The sauce was literally a soupy liquid and tasteless. The 3 shrimp and scallops in the bowl tasted boiled. Shrimp tasted overcooked, scallops were okay, just bland. There were sweet peppers and onions in the pasta too but the pieces were literally so tiny it wasn't even 1/4 of a bite. Complete waste of my money. The only good thing about the meal was that they sent fresh bread.. I definitely don't recommend ordering take out and dont think Ill give this restaurant a try in person now either. Disappointed!

Unfortunately I cannot speak to the quality of their food. I had high hopes of trying this kitchen as they seem to boast about their catering. However I can speak to the quality of their service. Romero's restaurant has refused to cater for a 30 person event on a Sunday (giving them 55 days notice). They had a "too good" for my business attitude. Very unfortunate.

Like anywhere prices are up but not crazy. To be seated was prompt , the service was impeccable absolutely spot on. You definitely won't leave feeling hungry wether it be regular menu or daily specials. Our table had both , presentation and taste was spectacular. Don't do desert but this time we all had and oh my god . Glad we didn't miss . After that can you say stuffed. You know when you've gone to a really good restaurant when the turnover is regular and always full. Not crowded just full. It was a Great dinning experience all round from the time we had entered to the time we had left. 2 plus hrs never rushed.

We placed an order through just eat. The restaurant called and said they were charging us extra for the delivery fee because of where we lived. I am not sure why the restaurant is concerned about the delivery fee when it's a separate company delivering our food. Wasn't impressed with the customer service and she stated that we shouldn't even be able to order from them due to the distance. It's maybe a 15 minute drive. Not a great way to keep business making the customer feel awkward.

Fine European dining in a casual atmosphere. Attentive staff. Could be good for a romantic dinner. Best thing tried was the melt-in-your-mouth calamari. Amazing! Free parking and a seasonal patio.

Ordered take-out. Food was outstanding, and hot enough to eat.Very good sized portions. Delivery in 35 minutes (booked at 55). Would order again any time.

Enjoyed takeout. Veal parmigiana was delicious, huge portion, could be easily shared. Also got the calamari, was tasty but not outstanding. The cook on the calamari was inconsistent. Everyone was very friendly and able to answer my questions. A little bit expensive but definately worth it for a treat.
