We had breakfast and it was delicious! Staff were very welcoming, especially to our 1 year old daughter. The atmosphere is lovely - not your typical rowdy, rushed breakfast place. We'll definitely go back and try their dinner menu.

Visited this restaurant numerous times since it opened for both lunch and dinner. I have tried majority of everything on the lunch menu and was never disappointed, in fact food seems to taste better each time I eat here. Reservations are recommended as not surprisingly the tables fill up quick. Daily specials are really good.

This is amazing restaurant for impressing family and friends. Welcoming and delightful staff. My family were quite enjoyed having a Royal taste meal at the Casual friendly planet. We were group of 4. We ordered wines, appetizer, entrees and desert. We shared our foods to make sure we all had a chance to tasted them all. I loved every single dish that we ordered. They were so perfectly done. I loved the crunchy chicken avocado egg roll and the warm smoothy creamy antojitos. We were fighting for the last spoonful of the features squash soup. The Double smoked chop was just right and tasty. We were even more impressed by the juicy beef tenderloin. My kids loved the way they cooked the seafood without too fishy. We had a lovely night. Definitely, we will come visit the restaurant again.

Date of visit: Saturday, January 11th, 2020 One of Guelph's best Restaurants. This restaurant is only a couple of blocks from our home, but unfortunately we only just got around to checking it out. Honestly, I didn't know what to expect, but I have recently heard some great feedback from some friends who tried it. So, when we were looking for a place to go for dinner in Guelph this night we finally made the decision to go to Queens cafe. This is a small restaurant in a tiny plaza so there is not a lot of seating. Luckily there was a table at the back of the restaurant where we could done, because the front was packed and it looked like we were not going to get a table. The restaurant looks very nice inside. Clean, open Concept, long and narrow. The service started out strong, but there was a long gap between our apps and when we got dinner. There was a table of 2 ladies who sat a while after we already finished our apps and they were getting their meals before we did. The food options are really good. Individual prices are very reasonable. The food is beautifully presented, fresh ingredients, beautiful combinations, and everything was delicious. I had the lamb chops which was a special menu item and it was amazing. Perfectly cooked, fresh and properly cooked sides of mashed potatoes and veggies. The salmon was perfection and the Shanghai stir-fry was full of flavour. The apps we had calamari and egg rolls, and they were very tasty. The food is amazing. I really enjoyed everything we had. I have 2 suggestions for anyone visiting this restaurant 1) make reservations to ensure a table - it is a small restaurant 2) ask the price of the specials before ordering. The lamb chops were considerably more expensive than most menu items. (They were worth it, but just a bit of a shock) This is definitely going to be a regular place for us to eat in Guelph. The food was fantastic and I definitely want to try everything on the menu.

Queen's Cafe is simply lovely. I went there with my fiancé and we enjoyed their quaint but cozy atmosphere. The service was fantastic and enjoyable. The food was to die for! Queen's also offers gluten-free which was a bonus as I am allergic to gluten items. The bread is awesome! Both my meal and my partner's were delicious and would most definitely recommend Queen's Cafe to anyone out there looking for a good restaurant to eat at. Pricing was also decent and the amount of food is perfect. We will be back. And thank you Queen's Cafe for having us :D

Great food, team, and atmosphere! They will make anything on the menu for kids at half price so they can still enjoy delicious healthy food and not just your typical 'kids' menu. A much needed gem in this area of town; a neighbourhood lacking in dining options. The owners are friendly and never hesitate to come say hello at your table. The food is fresh; my friend said she’d never had chicken tenders that tender (and she’s from Portland, Oregon, known for it’s food). The soups are clearly homemade along with everything else. All of my meals here have been excellent and the reason I’m not giving five stars is because the portions could be bigger. That said, it’s a place you can dine with confidence knowing you’ll get a tasty meal, great service, and a nice family-friendly ambience. They accommodate everyone and make you feel like you’re in their living room.

I've eaten at the Queen's Cafe three times now and every time it has been spectacular. First of all, they have the best fish and chips in town. They're not too greasy and the fries are perfection. I felt compelled to write a review today because yesterday my 8 year old son and I had a dinner date and the owner? Chef?, came over to our table to ask if we wanted a kid's portion of his order (a smaller burger at a super affordable price). She also asked if he wanted some raw veggies on the side (cucumber slices and cherry tomatoes). I was thrilled with the customer service and the quality of the food. My family has gone for brunch before (I had steak and eggs. YUM) and it was an incredible experience as well. I also wanted to mention that it's a really nice and cozy space so it's perfect for a romantic date as well. Don't let all my talk about family make you think it's not a sophisticated restaurant. It's just the perfect place for anyone!

My first visit, and a truly outstanding meal. Wifey and mother-in-law had the salmon, I had the rib-eye special, all cooked perfectly. Fresh veggies particularly impressive. Real class, but very small restaurant, you will need a reservation. I can see why take-out is packed particularly for lunch meals during the week. VERY highly recommended. We all loved it!

My daughter ordered and delivered a full meal with desert for my spouse and myself and I have to say it was fantastic! it was a special occasion retirement gesture on my last day at work. The food was delicious. A melt in your mouth steak dinner with a rich brownie and strawberry desert. well prepared and in a word yummy! we cant wait to go in person and enjoy this café when Covid is over with.

This place had just opened (in fact has yet to have its grand opening), when I stopped in today for lunch. I was very impressed. The first thing I noticed, having been in the space under previous owners, was how transformed it looked, with smart, earthy decor, and a feeling of having been opened up from the 24-person seating area in the front to the kitchen and payment area in the back. The open design mirrors the commitment of the owner and chef to have nothing in their kitchen that may not be enquired into: you want to know what's in the sauces or where the food comes from? They will be able to tell you, since they take pride in the quality of food they select and prepare everything fresh in-house. The menu (which is still being developed) is a blend of popular standards (burger, chicken club, fish and chips, the full gamut of traditional breakfast offerings) and representational dishes from various world cuisines (Italian pasta carbonara, Thai stir fry, Tex-mex antojitos). I went for the fish and chips and, as a Bluenoser, can give my unreserved seal of approval to the generous portion of perfectly beer-battered boneless haddock that arrived on a bed of fries, suitably accompanied by ketchup, malt vinegar, lemon, tartar sauce and sea salt. Seafood can be iffy in Ontario, but this experience gives me the confidence to come back another time and order the mussels or the salmon. The meal finished with a cappuccino, just one of the full range of drink offerings which will become even fuller when the liquor license, which is pending, is obtained. I wish Queen's Cafe every success in putting the corner of Elizabeth and Victoria on the map as a dining destination.

What a beautiful place. Food is great and the service terrific. We’ve been here a few times and go bonkers for the Benedict. We came a little late on a Sunday and they were out of some breakfast foods, but only because they buy everything farm fresh and are sure to only buy what they will use. Love that, but make sure to go earlier than 1pm on a Sunday if you want breakfast!

I’ve been here for lunch twice now with friends and we all agree that the food has been very good along with pleasant service. I recommend the halibut and chips (fresh cut- delish) and the chicken club with real chicken breast and wonderful bacon etc. Looking forward to trying the dinner menu. Amazing!! We went there around 6pm without a reservation (1st time visit, so we didn’t know we need one and it’s really small and cozy) and this little nice restaurant were packed. Server was super nice and told us, have one table is leaving in five minutes, however the next reservation for that table is at 7, so we desiccated to stay, and give a shot. It’s a open kitchen restaurant, so we can see what’s going on during the waiting time. Kind of like watching a food network.

Amazing! We had dinner there tonight with our 2 year old and we all had an awesome experience. My husband and I both had an unbelievable meal - the type of gourmet meal we never get at a restaurant where we can also take our toddler. And our daughter had an even better experience - the owner and the server were not only wonderful and playful with her but they went above and beyond with the meal they served her. We had Prime Rib and Rib Eye Hu bby says Rib Eye was delicious and perfectly done; my Prime Rib was very tasty, not the melt in my mouth that I was looking for but still worth coming back for. The vegetables were absolutely tasty and would have enjoyed a few more. Tammy (Owner) came out to meet us - cheerful most welcoming. Place is dimly lit with jazzy music not noisy and an open kitchen atmosphere. Absolutely enjoyed the experience and will be back. Both meals with one beer 80.00.

The beef shortribs and chicken club sandwich were good. The CCS avocado was either in the sauce or missing.. the portions are small. I don't recommend the buttermilk chicken they tasted as if made from frozen. Overall it's extremely over priced for what you get.

We ordered steaks for delivery Friday. I ordered the tenderloin and my husband ordered the rib eye. My tenderloin was AMAZING. I said med rare it was perfect. Mashed potatoes were good but veggies were underdone. I don't mind rawish veg so was ok for me. Husband's rib eye was tasty and tender as well done perfectly. We always try each other's to determine who picked the best meal I won hands down, however, both were good. I only rated a 4* as the veggies were not great and the mashed potatoes were rather plain. Otherwise, would go to the Queen's Cafe over the Keg any day. Really good tenderloin let me reiterate.

The grounds at Christmas are spectacular, the lighting is amazing. The gallery is worth the visit, exhibits are changing constantly.They do a great job with the light display. A bit mucky walking on the grass. Some of the displays were not lit up. Would be nice if they had strolling carolers

Ate at the cafe on Thursday Feb 21st. First time eating here. I was looking forward to a nice experience. but felt it missed the point on ambiance. The food and service was good, although the fries were rather small,(not like you see on their pictures. ) It was the noise that bothered me. There was banging of pots and pans for some reason, dropping dishes, and very loud talking, must have been from the staff in the kitchen area as the patrons were not yelling. I said to my friend that this is noisier than Mc Donalds. Way to much noise for my liking. Sorry.

We had dinner here tonight and it was fantastic! Service was very good and friendly. All of the food is homemade and delicious. We recommend the burger and the pan roasted chicken without hesitation. The only reason this place doesn’t get five stars is because both my husband and I had to shower when we got home to get the smell of grease off of us. They need better ventilation. Regardless, we will be back.

Excellent dinner very reasonably priced and great server! Could maybe do with another vegetarian type dish,excellent creme brulee. We had a reservation which is a good idea. Our table was at the back of the restaurant and it was very drafty and cool.They did put a heater near our table but it wasn't much help, maybe need a better quality heater or some form of insulation back there. Go and try this restaurant you will not be dissappointed!

My daughter was told about this place and she selected it for 10 of us to celebrate her Birthday. This was an excellent recommendation. Yes the place is small yet we had enclose section at the back which was great.. The service and food were amazing and we will certainly go back. The owner should be a comedian!! It was a great evening.

Excellent service and timing, accommodating, comfortable and tasty. I had the standard breakfast with the usual coffee and it was lovely. Others in our crew had beyond the basic and it's presentation and quality were top notch. The atmosphere was a step up from many other breakfast joints. A must visit in Guelph.

A few girlfriends and I went for lunch the other day and everyone was just blown away. I have been for dinner a handful of times but it was a few of the other ladies first time. We had Jessica as our waitress and she was just delightful. Very kind and efficient. The food was superb. The owner even came out to make sure everything was going okay and she was very pleasant as well. Will definitely be back.

Had the chicken and mushroom risotto. It was delicious! My friend had the thai stir fry and was delighted. Only thing is there were flies roaming around everywhere and theres NO AIR CONDITIONING. Food is really good. Ambience humid and sticky.

It's like an artisan restaurant in the city of Guelph! I would recommend making a reservation since limited seating testifying to the EXCELLENT quality of food!! ????????

AMAZING chicken risotto dish! Definitely the star dish of the night. The shortribs were nice and tender too. Perfect portions (not too big). Nice friendly server, and the owner came around and greeted every table. Finished off with a delicious creamy strawberry cheesecake, which was made in-house. Definitely going back! ????????

Went there for breakfast on a Saturday morning and it was just delightful. The original plan was to go to Eggcetra but there was an hour long wait. One of us had heard about this Queen's Cafe on Facebook so we thought it's right here, we're hungry lets just give it a try. The staff is super friendly, the food is on point and the prices are very reasonable. We loved everything about this place. We are looking forward to our next visit, maybe for lunch next time!

Absolutely the most delicious Prime Rib ever! Perfectly cooked. So juicy! Mashed potatoes were literally to die for. Seasonal veg done just right. Highly recommend this restaurant. Offering take out.during COVID so one night we brought our own patio.

Wonderful meal! It was our 50th anniversary and all high end restaurants were closed because of covid. We ordered the beef tenderloin for takeout and it was delicious. Looking forward to being able to go for eat in again.

The Penne Pasta with sausage and red peppers was delicious! The Caesar salad was great too! It was our first time trying this place and let me say we will be back for sure! The lady who came out to the car for us to pay was so nice, she’s definitely an asset to this establishment.

Enjoyed lunch with some friends. All staff was very friendly and knowledgeable. Coffee was great. Had the burger with side of butternut squash soup. Burger was seasoned wonderfully, and cooked nicely, very juicy. Soup was so creamy and flavorful. Only thing I wished for was a refill on my coffee. No one came around until we had finished paying.

I had ordered the chicken supreme dinner & Caesar salad. Both were absolutely delicious! Freshly made and very flavourful... no shortcuts here! Highly recommend this wonderful place. I will definitely order from them again. Support local!

There were tons of flies everywhere! Food was ok but the flies were grossing me out.
