Wasn’t impressed with the food. The pizza came out cold and I had to ask for a fresh one. The bread was stale. The ice cream tasted like Mcdonald’s soft serve but was $8??? Only giving 2 stars over 1, because the waitress (Maddy I think) was super sweet and accommodating. Great service, terrible food.

The place is located in downtown Guelph, with walking distance to many attractions. However, parking can be tricky. The place has a nice vibe, the decoration is modern, and the staff are very friendly. Our order was a bit late, but they refused to charge us for it, although it wasn't a problem for us, as we were enjoying our drinks. The food was very tasty, and authentic. I recommend !

Great Food, I’ve been there twice before. Had a little mix up this weekend with my take out food. The manager handled it very well. The kitchen or the wait staff forgot my order and I waited for 45 mins past the time they said my food would be ready. The manager paid for my meal and made a bad experience quite enjoyable. I would recommend this place to everyone looking for high quality Italian food.

New(ish) to Guelph and we have ordered from Buon Gusto twice now. Both times we have never been disappointed! The wood oven pizza is phenomenal - a great portion to share with someone and all fresh ingredients. Highly recommend the Burrata, which sits on arugula and topped with prosciutto. Their online or phone in orders are super easy and convenient. Pick up times were bang on! Very friendly staff and safety measures in place for curbside pick up options. We have put this place at the top of our lists for local restaurants!

Just got curbside pickup. While staff were friendly and helpful, had to wait 15 minutes at the curb despite scheduled pickup time. When pizza finally came out it was also cold. I'm not sure if it was sitting the whole time or what. But very unsatisfying despite the taste being good and having good potential!

We've eaten here a few times, and I think the pizza is fantastic! The service from the guy at the door was 'over-the-top' incredible. On our last visit, the restaurant was packed and he spent 10 - 15 minutes calling around to other good restaurants downtown... you can't ask for more than that. We look forward to coming back.

My daughter-in-law and her mother and I went to the Buon Gusto patio to try the food in the hopes that they would supply the food for our upcoming Covid backyard wedding. The food was amazing! The servers were pleasant and the atmosphere very enjoyable. We decided to use them to supply us with 27 meals. Usually "take out" food tastes different than what you get in the restaurant. Not this time! Everyone raved about the food. It was hot and once again delicious. Thank you to Evan who helped make our children's special day a roaring success!

This restaurant used to be a favourite of ours and we went out of our way to support it though the pandemic, regularly ordering takeout when the government wouldn’t allow them to open… unfortunately the food and the costumer service has been horrific. Trying to resolve issues was met with a condescending and rude owner. It’s truly laughable how willing this restaurant is to loose a long time costumer. Our money is better spent supporting a restaurant that actually cares about it’s costumers and making great food.

Being Italian I know authentic Italian cuisine. I must have gotten unlucky on my visit as I’m seeing all these good reviews!?!? I had the fig and prosciutto pizza. It came with 1 fig cut up into bits and 1 slice of prosciutto and shaved grano padano cheese. I could count the pieces of cheese on 1 hand. Friend got the pasta carabonara and it came out as 1 ladle scoop worth. Needless to say we were still hungry so we ordered another app. All apps we had were good but this “gourmet” meal costed over 100. I will not be back. Check out Sugo on Surrey if you don’t want to leave hungry and get a reasonable portion for what you pay for.

Friendly Service - Comfortable Seating - Attractive Atmosphere A very unusual Lasagna - a non- tangy marinara with a very mild unremarkable cheese and strong anise seed flavouring in the otherwise savoury sausage. I won't order this again. The Mushroom Soup appetizer was completely unsalted + unseasoned. I think that this was an error . My companion had recommended it and she said that it was not as she had tasted on previous visits. It was easily exchanged for a delicious roasted red pepper soup which was, in contrast, perfectly seasoned and generous. The Lemon Sorbet and Creme Brulee were both exceptional!

What a beautiful restaurant right in the centre of Guelph town. While I knew this restaurant was there I hadn't had an opportunity to eat here. Over the Christmas holidays we decided to take the whole family and what an experience. New Year's Eve, almost full restaurant and the staff was just as accommodating and friendly as they could be, the service was prompt as any other night of the year and the food was absolutely amazing. I would recommend this restaurant for the ambiance, the staff and the quality of the food to anyone. Well done to the Buon Gusto team !

Buon Gusto has been my Italian restaraunt of choice since living in Guelph for the past year. Their staff are friendly, professional, and competent. They have a good location if you want to dine-in as well as excellent packaging for take-out. I recommend their spaghetti and meatballs. You won't have to worry about not having enough meatball for spaghetti.

Good service and good food. Seasoning was great on everything we tried, which is a big plus. Good value for the price you pay. If we wanted to nitpick, - mushroom soup had a little too much garlic so it overpowered the mushrooms a little. Still really good! - charred octopus was super tender! We personally would have liked a little bit more texture with the char. A touch too soft to our taste - fig and prosciutto pizza was delish. The dough was fantastic. The only thing we would have liked was having the figs sliced smaller and spread more evenly over the pizza, rather than the larger pieces in clumps - boar bolognese was really good. We found the seasoning was SPOT ON! Just perfectly seasoned and with the slightest bit of spice at the back of the palette.

A great place for a classy dinner or a casual patio lunch. Food and service was definitely 5/5 if your in the area you owe it to yourself to stop by here. Heard a lot of good reviews about this from people and I believe it was featured on BlogTo. We decided to go in around lunch and decided to eat on the patio. We did have a peak inside and the decor was both classy and modern. This would definitely be a place to book for a nice dinner or celebration. With that being said the patio out in front had a nice and casual feel to it. Upon entering we were promptly greeted and brought to the patio. The host (or manager not sure and didn't catch his name) was fantastic he tried his best to get us a shady spot outside of the sun and tried moving the tables around for our benefit. For food we started with the bruschetta which was a fresh starter that was a great way to start the lunch. They did have a lunch special but I opted for the full sized pizza and I was not disappointed. I felt that the lunch special would have been too small (half the pizza) so do keep that in mind if your a big eater like me. The lunch pasta was perfectly Al dente and not too rich. The food was excellent and the staff was exceptional and can't wait to come back and try the full dinner menu.

LOVE, LOVE, LOVE Buon Gusto! The very first time I went here, I ordered Burrata Toscana. It was absolutely delicious, and now I order it each time I go there. The ambiance is very nice. The restaurant has a beautiful stone wall that reminds me of some restaurants we visited in Europe. We also went to Buon Gusto as part of a large party for a reception. The meals were pre-ordered and served family style. The service was fantastic (as always), and of course the food was amazing. Can't wait to go back :)

Nice place with a good selection of items on the menu. They make pizza more the Italian style with very thin dough, very nice. Service is very good. As is most restaurants these days any alcohol is quite costly, a bit disappointing as that makes your lunch costly with just 1 drink. Not much for parking nearby, sometimes you get lucky with street parking. Nice restaurant.

Front of house was a slow in coming to us and getting us seated when we had a reservation. Overall service was good and food was good too. The patio is well shaded and had a great atmosphere. Ordered calamari fritti, crispy pork belly, bruschetta, and grilled octopus to start. Food was good but felt portions could have been bigger for the prices they charge, especially the octopus appetizer which had far more beans when the octopus should have been the star. For mains I tried 2 pizzas, and 4 different pastas. Pasta texture was al dente (as it should be). Tomato based pastas were great with nice acidity. Protein portions of the pastas were good. Favs were tagliatelle cinghiale bolognese & linguine sorrentina con pollo. The margherita pizza was good although it could have used a little more cheese. The fontina pizza was just ok and didn't quite meet my flavour expectations of bechamel, fontina, or truffle. Pizza crust met my Neapolitan expectations. Overall, good restaurant (food and service) and great patio atmosphere that I would recommend and wouldn't mind going back to.

My first visit to this restaurant was for my work Christmas Luncheon. The Food was amazing. For a large group, the service was still outstanding. Every single person had a meal that was exactly what they wanted and were pleased with it, I had the Wild mushroom soup. It was so creamy and so full of flavour. I then had the Linguine Roman. The cheesy sauce was so good, just so happy with the entire meal. The only thing I would change was the Parmesan cheese. I was expecting the waitress to come with the grinder but instead they handed us a wooden spoon full of powdered cheese you would get from a can.

Updated: Owner actually called us and apologised. Eh, everyone makes mistakes once in a while, I'm cool if they catch the mistakes and recover. We'll give 'er another whirl and I'll update my review at that time. Won't be going back. I've been there twice, always to spectacular results. Went there recently for our anniversary, and our first outing since covid. The food was beyond disappointing. Burnt bread, and the pizza was horrible. Like, just glops of sauce on dough. Neither of us enjoyed the meal. Then they rushed us out before we were done our meal. We booked at 4:30 and advised to be done by 6. It's covid, so yeah, its our obligation to eat and get out so they can seat the next table and we knew that. But we got our appetizers at just after 5, our pizza after that, and the manager asked us to leave before 5:30. Seriously? My wife wasn't even done her meal yet and we had to drop it and leave. Then stand on the sidewalk while they finished cooking the takeout we'd ordered for the kids at the beginning of the meal. The previous reviews were accurate in my experience, but no more. Avoid.

I was in town for a conference and I decided to try this place out. The reviews on their pizza were intriguing. The restaurant has a comfortable homey feel to it. The servers were very friendly and polite. They answered all my questions about the menu and had a lovely chat about the restaurant and the area. I ordered the Fig & Prosciutto pizza and it was perfect. It was cooked perfectly, the taste was perfect the ingredients were fresh. I love supporting the local establishments and this place is doing a amazing job. If you guys want some great customer service and some good tasty food, check this place out. You will not be disappointed.

Food is so tasty, we came back two nights in a row. Best pizza ever. Pasta was delicious. House Red wine was better than expected. We shared a bottle of De Loach which paired well if you like Pinot Noir. I had the LIMONATA AL GUSTO cocktail and it was so fresh, they blend real strawberries. Great experience all around, all staff was genuine and kind. Dana and Morgan were super. The owner Bernie was caring and made guests feel at home. We'll be returning next time we're in Guelph!

I am italian, expected a little better Bruschetta..little or no garlic , a little bland. ...I was satisfied with the meal but llimited choices. Chocolate raspberry cake was dry but my family enjoyed the Tiramisu Rate 3.5 of 5 ☆

I can't say enough about this place. The staff is awesome. The food is so so good and the atmosphere is beautiful. You know your in a place that is a cut above when you look over at the bar and there's someone cleaning all the wine glasses by hand, drying them and holding them up to check for spot and lip stick. The pizza's are amazing the wine list is really good with out being crazy expensive. I could go on but you gotta go and taste the food for yourself. You won't be disappointed. Out of five stars I give this place a seven.

So we've ordered here a few time and have never been terribly disappointed. This time we ordered some pizza, a starter meatball and an entree pasta. The pizza was good as usual but the portion size of the meatballs and pasta were awful. The starter meatballs only came with three (golf ball size) meatballs and the bacon alfredo dish was about 1.5 cups in total. I emailed the restaurant to give feedback and received nothing. So we try to support local and we try to support during hard economic times and we get an overpriced meal considering the portions we received and zero interest from the restaurant to respond to our complaint. Cool.

We got the charred octopus, calabrese pizza, tagliatelle dragoncello, and tiramisu. The charred octopus and pizza were both extremely salty. The pizza had an excellent crust, though. The tagliatelle had a nice flavour and the pasta was very fresh and cooked well. However, it came out a little cold. The tiramisu was excellent! Our server was nice but the service was incredibly slow. We waited nearly 20 minutes to get our order taken, then a long time between bread-app-main, to the point where it didn't feel like our dishes were fresh (more like they'd been sitting there for a while waiting to be picked up by our server.) Unfortunately, the slow service and very salty dishes made the experience unpleasant overall.

Been going to Buon Gusto for sometime and I can say it is one of the best ,if not the best restaurant in Guelph. Service has always been excellent, the menu is concise and price point is exactly where it should be. I have never had a bad meal here and it is definitely the only place I know of that serves Neapolitan style pizza of a high quality in the area. The pasta and other entrees are also equally as good. Overall, if you have never been to Buon Gusto, I highly recommend you go and then you'll not stop going back.

Great gourmet pizza, I've attached a picture of a pizza with Italian sausage, arugula, capocollo and honey. I was really surprised with the honey and had to make this review. Well done! Great service by Kim. We had a party of 9 and enjoyed ourselves. Food was good. We ate 5 appetizers and 8 pizzas and an entre of pasta. Good variety of pizzas are available andcwe swapped slices as we wished between friends at our table. Food was presented nicely. Menu is pretty fancy but the wait staff translates it for us normal folk. The house ted wine was good but not excellent but was the only one available in 1/2 litre size. We had no room for dessert.

Little to no flavour although portion was decent. Lasagna: Good portion and tasty but ingredient proportions seemed off - too much sauce and there were also large chunks of tomato. Poor structural integrity for a lasagna. Tiramisu: Fantastic, slightly bitter, mildly sweet, and no alcohol taste that I've experienced from many other tiramisu.

Top notch!! We came here to celebrate a birthday and boy did they nail it. Reservation was made through Open Table. We had to cancel a day before and then last minute (2-3 hours before what was our reservation time), we asked if we can reinstate the reservation. They were booked completely but helped me out in a bind. Thank you! Food - We ordered the octopus, burrata, Mele Drogato and Boscaiola pizzas. The octopus tasted a bit charred but was not tough, burrata is actually mozzarella stuffed with ricotta and straciatelle but was delicious nonetheless, and we loved their pizzas. At the end of dinner, they added a scoop of Vanilla ice cream on the house for the person celebrating their birthday. The gelato was delicious. Service was great. Our server did a fantastic job keeping on top of our table. We will definitely be back!

I have been to Buon Gusto a couple times now. I have figured out that nothing beats the specials that they offer. Especially for the pizzas, I would highly recommend going with the daily special! I've had their daily special twice and they were both splendid. Whereas when compared to their on menu dish it seems a bit lack luster. The price I find is great if you want to go on a date, or grab a meal with friends.

Worst food ever. Bruchetta was 4 pcs of dry toast topped with 1 in. thick cubbed tomatoes, terrible. Much better at the grocery store. Pizza dough was good, toppings were the worst quality ever. Spend some money on your toppings. Looks like supper thin frozen pepperoni. 38 degrees in the sun and the umbrellas were not covering us. We were told, that is the fun of the patio. Also had the chocolate tartufo (truffle) cake with raspberry sauce. This is one of Guelph"s best restaurants if you like Italian cuisine. Ambiance, location, and service are all great. Taste and quality of the food is superb. My only gripe, well two, are that it is a somewhat limited menu. There are lots of pizza selections which is their specialty, and several pasta dishes. The server did tell us they were adding 5 more dishes to the menu, but she was unsure of what they would be. Last point is that the size of the pizzas will satisfy all but the largest of appetites. Unfortunately, I find the pasta dishes to be a little on the small size, so plan to have an appetizer and /or dessert, or you will likely be leaving not quite full. Overall a great experience.

Went here for a romantic birthday present and was blown away. Absolutely amazing - the atmosphere, the food and the service. We ordered appetizers, mains, wine and dessert! everything was delicious! Will be back again. Highly recommend, especially for a special night.

Firstly, and most importantly, the food that we tried was absolutely fantastic! I think I smacked my lips, and like a slobbering fool, stuttered "perfection" after each bite, not thinking it was possible, for the next bite to be just as good, if not better, than the first! But it was!!! Add to this tastebud extravaganza though was exemplary customer service, so the analogy "a little piece of heaven on earth" does not feel like it is stretching the truth!

First experience to Buon Gusto , after being referred by our son.. Were very impressed on all fronts. Food was well prepped and of high quality. Pizza was large and could have fed 2 or 3 people. Linguine was cooked very well with lots of seafood. Only complaint was the Calamari in linguine still had membrane on it and had to be pulled off to make edible. Special mention goes to Gillian , our awesome server , who made the experience extra special. ???? Highly recommend for your next night out !
