We visited this fairly new establishment on the South side of Grande Prairie, since we were on the way to the airport. Easy to find, and because it's located in a strip mall, there is plenty of parking. Most likely because it was near lunchtime on a Sunday, the restaurant was quite busy. Perhaps it was a blessing-in-disguise, but we were seated in a small two-seat table in an alcove in the far corner of the restaurant. The upside was that we weren't blinded by the sun coming through the large windows; the downside was we were practically invisible to the servers, which probably contributed to "slowish" service (not "dead slow" but decidedly slower than expected for creating a bowl of pho). We ordered our usual; spring rolls to share, meatball pho for my "better half," and rare beef pho for myself. I am not 100% sure if the spring rolls were made inhouse; I suspect not, but, they were crispy and tasty. I had forgotten to order fish sauce, which was brought to the table as part of the order--a nice touch. The pho was hot when delivered, the beef beautifully rare, and the broth VERY tasty. I haven't quite figured out why, but tableside condiments are very limited when eating pho outside of a very ethnic area; we're generally used to both hoisin AND soya sauces being available and not passed off as one-in-a-the-same. Likewise, sriracha sauce is not the all-in-one substitute for chili-garlic sauce and chili infused oil--they all lend different flavour profiles to the meal, and aren't that expensive to offer. Same to with the plate of bean sprouts, fresh basil, and lime wedges. Prices are very reasonable, and portion size is very generous. If you're thinking you might want the large size, make certain you're starving. One very odd issue; Tayo CAN'T serve TEA! According to our server, Tayo had to sign an exclusion contract with the property owners because there is a Starbucks Coffee House located in the same mall. This seems as silly as a KFC requiring a Wendy's restaurant to not sell chicken sandwiches.......very strange. Serving staff are very polite and appreciative of the patronage. No liquor or beer menu, delivery available through their website but not available on Skip-the-Dishes. Definitely worth visiting again if we find ourselves on the South side of town.

May 8th we went to Tayo a new Vietnamese restaurant here in town. The food is AMAZING!! I'm so full ???? They give you A LOT of food, my son's noodle bowl was bigger than his head, lol. Five of us ate for $85 and that included a decent tip. The place is small but it was full, every table was occupied. The only complaint I have is there is not enough staff so the wait time was very long. This might be my new favorite restaurant, I loved the coconut rice. I definitely recommend this restaurant but make sure you are willing to wait. The food is worth it!!! ????????????

Tried Tayo for the first time and the food was some of the best Vietnamese I’ve had in a while. We got it to go and the servings were PLENTY. The food was DELICIOUS and FRESH. Definitely some the best pho and vermicelli I’ve had in Alberta, and definitely the best in Grande Prairie. We will be ordering all our Vietnamese here from now on.

My favourite restaurant in Grande Prairie for a reason. Amazing flavourful food. Fast service and great staff. This restaurant has three of my favourite dishes I can get in grande prairie. The owner is always out on the floor asking how everything is tasting. By far one of the best aspects of this restaurant would be the prices. Although it is premium food it is not a premium price by any stretch of the imagination. If there is one place I can always rely on for a good dish with amazing service it is Tayo. Seriously the best green curry I have ever had in my life. Amazing.

We’ve only been there 2 times after today, the first time we went there I was so blown away with how polite they were & how amazing their service is. I have NEVER been happier going to a restaurant before. We gave them a 20$ tip tonight and they TRIED TO GIVE IT BACK SAYING IT WAS TOO MUCH. This place was incredibly good. I ordered large veggie tofu Phò bowl with spicy peanut sate broth + veggie spring rolls. It was a little bit pricey but incredible quality and a very large sized portion. I’ve spent significant time in Vietnam and this tasted authentic. Atmosphere was really great and staff was always kind, in my 3 weeks visiting Grande Prairie I ate here numerous times. Definitely recommend!

I TRULY love this restaurant. I was eating their Pho even before they decided to open their own place, so of course I followed when they moved. The quality of the food is always top notch. Fresh ingredients and the kind of flavor that comes from great grandmas recipe book. I usually order #18, chicken rice noodle soup(Pho Ga), which is always steaming hot(even if its being delivered its still piping hot when it arrives) and comes with crunchy bean sprouts and cilantro. The coconut rice is also to die for. So if you're looking for a clean, respectable, delicious, legitimate Vietnamese restaurant this is it. Love you guys, keep up the amazing work <3

Hands down the best Vietnamese restaurant in Grande Prairie. We have tried all of them and found this one last but only because it’s on the opposite side of town. I have to say it’s worth the drive. Their spicy sauté broth added to any soup is the key ingredient! They also make a mean pork spring roll and salad rolls. Willy cares about his clientele, and he is always cleaning, sanitizing, wiping. His sate is better than anything Ive ate in Edmonton or Calgary. Customer service is outstanding!! If you don’t live in the south side of GP, its well worth the drive to pickup! Ordering online is super easy too.

I work in GP a lot and was having a craving for Vietnamese. Google led me here and I’m sure glad it did ! I ordered take out. The #41 Vermicelli noodle with shrimp, chicken, beef and the pork rolls. It was fast and friendly service. The restaurant looked new and very welcoming and clean.

The stir-fried spicy beef with green curry (#79, ga xào hạt điều rau cải) was delicious, with a moderate level of spice. Plus, some some reasonable pandemic precautions: spaced seatings, no individual menus, sterilized styluses for the point-of-sale touchpad, and so on. Definitely worth a try.

Your tastebuds will thank you for eating here. A friend, who visits from Calgary, told me that she still hadn't found a peanut sate that competes with the one that Tayo serves up. My order? Chicken peanut sate with veggies and a side of pork spring rolls.

Tayo is by far one of my favorite restaurants in town. The staff are pleasant and polite and always happy to have you in their restaurant. You can tell that they care about the food too. Someone is putting their heart into these dishes and this shows in the portion sizes and flavor. I can’t wait to eat here again. Try the satay noodle soups…. devine.
