Washrooms were clean. Food is better than the majority of restaurants. Service was excellent. We had Rebecca and she recommended getting the veggie burger and substituting the veggie patty for a chicken. Good call. My only recommendation is that should be on the menu. Call it the death of the veggie burger. Kids are allowed at the restaurant, so be prepared for noise and crying!

4.5 stars for their happy hour fish tacos. They'd get a 5 if corn tortilla was used instead of flour and if their cabbage was lightly fermented and traditionally spiced. For $4 a piece as a happy hour special, they're one of the best tacos in town with a good enough price to buy a few along with a pint and really enjoy it.

We had fairly good service while we were there ???? we had enough distance between our table and the next seated guests, which is always good. The food took quite a long time to arrive after we had placed our order. I had ordered the mini tacos and my partner had ordered a burger and poutine. My food was very cold, while my partner's was hot, but I was too hungry to mention the temperature. Despite being cold it was still delicious. Overall it was a good experience ????

Waitress been giving attitude all dang day. Like omfg. The short chubby blonde chick working friday January 12th was a jerk. The wait for food was almost worse. very slow, took 30 minutes to get wings, salt and pepper wings had no salt and pepper on them, the fish and chips were terrible, way over cooked and crazy greasy, the batter was at least 3/4" thick from sitting in the deep fryer to long and French fries were soggy from greasy fish sitting on top of them. was very disappointed. dinner cost us 140.00 and I will not be returning for a long time.

Used to go here often, haven’t been much in the last year or so. Went for dinner on a Monday night recently with a group of 6. The place was dead for being dinner hours 5:45pm, now I know why. Food came out on a timely manner, however drink service was non-existent and the $18 Bison burger was not good at all. Patty was burnt and dry, the bun and toppings were what you’d find at any fast food joint. We had wings and other appies which were fine, hard to mess those up. Was not impressed with my meal or the lack of drink service. Highly doubt will be going back. Too bad, use to enjoy this place.

I was craving a steak after ice-fishing and felt I deserved it, and State and Main hit the spot! The dill sauce for the fries- delightful. The sautéed mushrooms, not overdone and too mushy, they were perfect, and the salad? That salad! With the apple walnut, goat cheese, and a cute sweet potato chip on top? Above and beyond. I was just expecting a generic mixed greens, but was pleasantly surprised with this culinary delight. Almost forgot I was eating in my dining room , until I saw my daughters homework left out on the table and the sound of the kids playing online Minecraft with cousins in the background (Thanks pandemic) guarantee I will be eating that again. Hopefully next time it’ll be dining in.

My family and I went for supper last night. I had been thinking about the chicken enchiladas all day, I had had then on two other occassions, as had my sister in law. The service was good, the food was disappointing, to say the least. I order them with no jalapenos, I like to enjoy my food with only a little heat. My niece and sister in law also ordered the enchiladas. After waiting for our meal for around 45 minutes, because the priority orders in this city are skip the dishes, not the people who go out to the restaurant. The enchiladas were nearly inedible for the amount of spice, so not at all worth the wait, they were not temperature hot, either. The main reason to go to the same restaurant is to get the same dish. We were told that some of the dishes weren't consistent. Why not, you are a franchise? My brother, who likes spicy food tried it and it was too hot for him, too. My nephew's fries were cold, when I mentioned it, the waitress offered to bring him more. How about telling the kitchen to send hot food the first time? The manager offered us free dessert as a resolution to a poor meal. Thanks, but no, that isn't a solution. I get tired of spending my money and not feeling like it was worth it. For the most part it was a poor meal, at least the service was good, that was the only shining point of the evening.

This place is really hit or miss. I ordered the same meal twice from here. Once during the week. It was awesome. The second time was yesterday, Friday. Chicken club was awful, just globbed with cold guacamole, poorly cooked chicken. The wings were pathetic. Cold and mushy. The next day I am in pain, will never go back.

My family loves State & Main. Not actually located anywhere near Main street. It is located on the corner of 84th ave and 100 st. In front of a trailer park and beside a Safeway gas bar. I believe this place used to be a Blockbuster Video in its previous life. Location aside, this little gem is a delicious place to take the family for dinner. The service is friendly and fast. Definitely worth it. It might even be worth dining here after it gets dark. I wouldn't know, I'm not that brave.

First night open, June 10, 2021! Meals were, honestly, as delicious as they were before. So happy to dine out. A lot of new faces as not everything as it used to be, but top notch effort by all. Congratulations on surviving!

State and Main serves your typical American food. It was busy on a Friday night and played lively music. The restaurant is rustic but modern and I would say lively. Wooden decor, booths, Mason jar cups. Similar to Rogue or Browns Social House. Its very clean. The food was decent, the prices about what you would expect. I had a French Dip with French onion soup. It was okay. 16 to 20 bucks for an entree. $40/person if you get an appy, entree, drink and tip. Staff was friendly. Food took 30 minutes. They also serve burgers, sandwiches, fish n chips, salads, wings etc. Gluten sensitive and vegetarian options available. Serves alcohol.

Good Ambiance, Nice Decor for a Wide Open Style. Service was Decent but I was only the 4th table in there, so there is no excuse to not have good service. I had the cheeseburger, yam fries and caesar salad, they were all tasty except for the burger was between 2 greasy pieces of garlic bread... Which they called French Bread.... Garlic Bread is Not French bread and they should have made the distinction on their menu, as I did not like the burger buns at all....

I would only recommend that people go here on slow times. Apparently Friday evening is not a good time to experience this restaurant for the first time as the tables are about 12-18 inches apart, and if fellow patrons are not respectful your evening can quickly become soured and not at all the romantic date you were aiming for. I strongly recommend Original Joe's layout over State and Main (and I do believe they are owned by the same parent company) as it feels as though State and Main is over stuffing the restaurant in order to maximize their profits at the expense of the patrons personal space. I did find the food was quite tasty and the drinks were well crafted. Unfortunately it feels like an expensive food fair.

We’ve ordered off skip twice recently and the food that we received was excellent both times. The first and chips are fantastic! The problem was the food that we didn’t receive... first time we didn’t get any dressing for a Caesar salad which kind of sucked but we just used ranch that we had in our fridge so it wasn’t that big of a deal. The second time was today, we wanted cheesecake as dessert for our Valentine’s Day dinner and it was the biggest reason we chose this restaurant to order from. We were billed for the cheesecake but unfortunately never received it. We’ve requested a refund from skip and will return to the restaurant in person but it’s probably off of our order-in list now.

We have been ordering takeout online through the state and main website directly and have had nothing but positive experiences we have ordered dozens of times during this covid time, and they have not made one mistake. The food is always great, our family especially likes the kid’s menu that is very well priced and has a great selection with something that all our kids like so there is no more fighting over where to eat. The staff has always been friendly and professional. I’m not usually a review guy but have been repeatedly impressed with State and Main and felt compelled to share.

While away for work visited on a busy Good Friday dinner rush with the only drawback to my experience being a little slow in getting our main courses out. Great service, nice atmosphere and everyone in my party were happy with their food choices (pretzel bites, peri peri chicken, bison burger & butter chicken). Waitress was very friendly and attentive but as we were paying the bill she reminded us accidentally that we were away from our family and friends during this holiday weekend and made us feel a little sad and sorry for ourselves.

This place is mediocre. Price average. There are some Staples that should be way better, the steak was small and burnt when we ask for a medium the chicken wings were tiny the chicken nuggets or fingers where however real chunks of chicken not mechanically separated meat. The portions were by no means large so if you're looking to pig out go somewhere else. If you're going for a date night, this is probably a good choice.

The food was great. We were in the room which is on the small side and they didn't quite have the staff to cater to the room and the restaurant being full. It took an hour and a half to two hours until everyone had their food. Two of the kids got their meal at the very end. I definitely like state and main I just think they need more staff. They had three hostesses chilling at the front with nothing to do. Great place but still has some improvements to make it awesome.

Service was terrible. There were 14 other people in the restaurant besides my family of 4. Waitress was more concerned serving the 3 guys at another table. I believe they were her friends. I ordered a steak sandwich with a mixed green salad. The salad doesn’t list that it comes with nuts or dressing and naturally I ordered it with ranch dressing but it came dress as normal. I returned the salad hoping just for greens. It never came… At that same time I ordered a second beer. That never came either. The kids menu says that a there is a small salad on the side at no charge. They brought my 3 year old a full sized salad and then tried to charge for it along with the second beer I never received. Waitress excused this as her being new. Maybe her new job is a place to hang out with her friends. Either way, she won’t last long. So I paid $22 for a steak slightly larger than a golf ball which was 6 bites. Never coming back and I’m disappointed because pre-COVID, this was the place we liked frequenting.

Minimum wage doubles and we are still expected to tip!? With the food quality dropping and menu prises rising! I don't think so Got a grilled cheese for son and that even had kraft slices! A freaking restaurant, you would think for the price would at least use real cheese This place sucks

Food is adequate, a little more pricey than other places like the brew house. The bruchetta i had was good. Service could have been better. When the waiter took plates and cutlery off our table, he didn't bother asking about dessert/taking food home or comment anything at all. Waited for 10mins+ for my bill after clearing off our table. Shows lack in efficiency of service now that I've been here twice. Edit: their Tuna Poke bowl is one of my all time favorite dishes!

My brother and I enjoyed dinner there last night. Our server, Melanie, was friendly and good at her job. The menu had lots of interesting choices. We finally settled on 4 appies and no main courses. We particularly loved the Brussel Sprouts, and Bang Bang shrimp, but also enjoyed the lettuce wraps.

Food is decent leaning towards excellent..prices on slightly high end... But wow!!! Added chicken and chorizo to the baked Mac and cheese and it was 5 dollars per add-on and 9 dollars for a draft Guinness...crazy expensive The service was excellent tho and atmosphere ok., although it was much like sitting in a pub as opposed to an expensive eatery...noisy and not intimate. I have to admit the baked Mac and Cheese with those addons was..an incredible meal!!...simply unforgettable. I know it was just baked Mac and cheese...but it almost made up for the rest.

The food was okay and certainly not worth taking the public health risk. All the staff were not wearing masks. We asked for a normal table (not high seating) so we were seated beside a door that was constantly opening up to the patio. The flooring was also super sticky. There were also smokers outside near the patio which also added to the “ambiance”. Our meals and service were mediocre at best. In my opinion, there are better dining options in Grande Prairie.

We just had our Christmas Party at State and Main. There was about 35 of us and their serving team never missed a beat. From the drinks to the appetizers and finally to the many options on the special menu, everything was Great! I personally had the Pistachio Salmon and it was delicious! Thanks to the ownership team and all the staff for making this such a memorable night!

My boyfriend and I went here for breakfast/brunch one morning. It was so disappointing that it was actually comical... First we arrived and the hostess was talking on her phone. She said nothing to us but gave us a nod to go to a table. Odd for sure but not the end of the world. Our waitress was ok but she seemed a little overwhelmed by the entire 3 tables of people in the place. I ordered a morning glory breakfast and my boyfriend got the eggs Benny. After a VERY long wait I was served my cold plate of sad looking breakfast which included dry toast with no butter on it and no condiments on the side... I had a bite of the sausage which was cold and tasted like 6 week old roadkill. The eggs were cold which is pretty hard to stomach and that was essential my whole breakfast ... Once the waitress finally came over to check on us I asked if I could get some butter for my toast. I specifically asked for "butter for my toast". At this point most sane people would realize there was an error in the food and say something. Nope. Not here. After 10 minutes of my hardly touching my food and deciding not to bother another waitress showed up with my toast butter... Which was a bowl of melted butter. All we could do is laugh.. And of course never return to this awful place... oh yeah, and my boyfriend's benny was ok.
