We used to come here fairly often, starting back when it was Sorrentinos. We havn't been for about a year or 2 for no particular reason. I booked a table for two, and we went for dinner. Interior is classy, simple and very clean. Low light, and mid volume music creates a nice ambiance. Our server Hanna was very friendly, informative and punctual from the beginning to end. Excellent dinner specials, and menu. The prices are a tad high but considering the quality of the food, i was glad to pay it. We ordered a bottle of wine, decanted and poured at the table. Olive oil and balsamic dip and in-house baked bread for the table. Stuffed mushrooms to start, and it was noticed someone meticulously removed all the fin veins from inside of the caps. Bravo. Feature gnocchi with chicken, mushroom in a rose' sauce. Top shelf. Hallibut for the wife, served with perfect temperature vegetables, and an incredible fettuccine alfredo with mussels as a side. No room for dessert. You have overdone yourself Padrinos, will return soon.

It's all Just Random

This is my first time in gp ...decided to take my girl out for dinner..we wanted a booth and with limited booths already booked for later reservations , the waitress still worked with us and got us into a booth..the service in my option was excellent. .the food very well prepared and considering it being a fine dining establishment...the food came out quick and piping hot. I'll definitely be going back next time i'm in gp.

When I walked in my first impression was that it was a nice restaurant. The decor is suitable for finer dining; soft music played in the background and the lighting was soft. It created an intimate atmosphere. The dinner menu has many wonderful choices including some wild game such as Elk and Bison. I chose the Bison and the meal was prepared perfectly. It was very tasty and the portion was filling. I will definitely return to try something different and see what delectable flavors the chef has concocted up next time.

One of the better restaurants to go to in Grande Prairie for a romantic night out. Decent wine list. Service has been reliably good for the past couple years. Booth are better for romance and privacy so request when you reserve.

The food was okay, the service was chaotic. Went there a few days after Valentine's day, reserved it specifying it was to be Valentine's themed. Got there and they sat us beside a booth with a couple completely surprised that they got flowers and Valentine's balloons.... We asked if they asked for them and they said they just walked in.... Very disappointing....

REALLY RACIST. Terrible service and attitude. We went there as a family at 8 and they told us we needed to wait half an hour. We saw the sign on the door saying that it closes at 9 so we were worried if there would not be enough time. We told our concern to the employee and she said they actually close at 10, all of us heard this. We then said how about making an reservation at 9 so we have time to walk around the park. When we arrived at 9, they told us they were closed and were really rude and said it was our responsibility to check the time. All we got was a sorry and her attitude was terrible. We overheard her talking to her coworker and said that we are asians and probably don’t know how to leave a review so there is nothing to worry about. It was overall a terrible experience.

Very average Italian food. The bison meatballs were very dry and unappetizing. The pizza was poorly cooked, with the crust still doughy in places and the cheese melted like a piece of rubber. Our server seemed way more interested in the big group in the private room and pretty much ignored us.

As soon as you walk in, the atmosphere is low key but very nice, the lights are low, and it smells good. The service was very prompt, friendly, and knowledgeable. And the food! Amazing. The bison tenderloin was cooked perfectly, the sauce was delicious, the the sides were all excellent, including a few taste surprises. This will be a regular stop when I'm in town.

It must have been an off night. A few people recommended the lobster ravioli. Mine tasted really fishy and didn't have lobster on top like people had previously. Over all the service was great and ambiance was nice but my dinner wasn't.

When we came in at five thirty there were only three people seated. We were told that we would have to make reservations and we would be unable to eat there. It was only this particular evening that it was nessesary to make a reservation. Even though the restaurant was empty.

Ambience and service was nice. As for the food, beyond the huge portions, I have nothing positive to say. We had the garlic herb crust, salmon al limone and the lasagna. Garlic herb crust was basically a large pizza, will feed 4 as an appetiser. The salmon wasn’t fresh and the lasagna was truly the worst. It was huge, but it was just a sloppy mess of a mush. The meat was not fresh, there was some kind of a discolouring/foam. The pasta layers were overcooked. No difference in textures whatsoever. It was ridiculously salty. Perhaps we chose the wrong day to eat here, but the quality of the food was truly frightful. Will not be returning.

Server was amazing! Kitchen staff were slow as hell with the food. We had a reservation at 6:30pm. We ordered appetizers around 7 (we had late arrivals). Appies came around 730ish. Food was ordered shortly afterwards and we didn't get the main course until almost 830pm. Finished up by 9. Food was good no complaints there. Just extremely slow and expensive. The restaurant wasn't very busy for a Sunday night so not sure why it took that long.

Restaurant was fantastic. Best Chicken Linguine Alfredo I've ever had. Waitresses were fun, it was Christmas time but they played Star Wars theme songs. Nothing makes life better than remembering Mace Windu swing his lightsaber. The restaurant must've had the high ground, because the food was so good I could die.

Incredibly delicious food, huge selection, great service. My wife and I went on a date here and we had a great time. I would Recommend making reservations as the place was full. I called a couple hrs ahead and the only spot they had was 7:45. So the food, we decided to order our food tasting menu style so we started with the special which was Italian wedding soup. It was the most incredible Italian wedding soup ever. Think broth, vegetables pea shoots etc very delicious. While We waited for the soup they brought out focaccia bread with balsamic and olive oil which was great. Our next course was salad, my wife ordered a Cesar salad and i ordered something with apples, oranges greens, goat cheese nuts it was very good. Then we had the bruschetta, also excellent. For my meal I ordered the rack of lamb which was amazing. We were super full so we didn’t order desert. Our server, gave us great service and was very attentive and had no issues with brining our food out slowly in stages. We will be back.

Great food and great service at this hidden gem. It has been our favourite date night restaurant for many years! It's quiet and consistent, with nice, fresh ingredients. Our go-to choices are Scallopine Al Basilico, Filetto Di Manzo, and the Dessert Medley, with a bottle of St. Francis Merlot. Highly recommend Padrino's ♡

Try the cannelloni with both sauces. Fresh bread, very flavorful food. The pizza is probably among the best I've had in a very long time. ask for Heidi to be your server if you can. The bartender shandy? Swing by her bar and say hi. You'll be happy to meet her. It's a definite yes, go and just enjoy.

Food was pretty good, as it usually is even though pretty expensive for what it is. I have eaten here quite a few times as I stay at the attached hotel frequently over the last 7 years. I was eating here with 3 colleagues as we were given a 25% of coupon for staying at the hotel. The server appeared while we were still eating/drinking and talking with the bill and machine which caught me off guard and I paid, I then realized that I had not used the discount, I went and found the server and ask if it could be applied, however I was told in a blunt manner that the machine had been closed out and there is nothing she could do, so I would just have to use it a different time. I doubt I would return here as there are a lot of better priced and better quality options in G.P and with better manners and service.

We haven't been here for a couple years so we decided to give it another try! We were not dissappointed at all!! We were seated promptly, our waitress was hilarious and professional!!(Wish I could remember her name) Food was a little bit slow but they were also very busy (and we had wine) so we didn't mind. It came out hot, fresh and very well cooked. If you want to have a nice Italian dinner date I would definitely recommend trying this place. Keep up thw good work guys!

I would come here any day between it and the keg. But I don't enjoy spending that much on food for one meal, so it won't be a regular occurrence. Oh and actually now that I think of it, I remember seeing a Sunday pasta special night, for a decent price. I'll make sure to check that out because the food truly was excellent just expensive.

Worse Italien restaurant, the calamari taste like grease, there oil need to be changed. Had the veal, well it tasted like it was deep fried veal and the pasta I ordered with a rose sauce and tasted like jar bravo sauce. Great Italian food, great ambiance, great service, can get a little slow when place is packed but friendly and experienced servers make it not seem so bad. Price is less than the Keg and more than Boston Pizza- it was fair for amount and quality of meal. Would definately go back again.

I have had meals from this establishment several times over the past decade. The obvious draw is their pasta. The only way to describe it is excellent. The ingredients they use are too notch and everything is seasoned to perfection. The pasta always cooked properly and the meat always proper. The staff has always been excellent our servers over the years have been professional handling the food as well as dealing with my children and I. The dining room is of low light and very well kept it has been renovated many times over the years and you can tell the care that has been put into it by the owners and management. I recommend any of their pasta with seafood in it.

Good Mediterranean fare and a nice glass of wine. Had a pasta dish with seafood. The seafood was not as scrumptious as it could be, but did you go to Grande Prairie for the seafood? This is a reasonable place for a business meeting. There is enough space between the tables for some privacy and the noise level is low enough that you can carry on a conversation.

We were seated at 7:00-7:10, planning on going to a show at 9:00 at the GPRC. I had called ahead weeks earlier to book a reservation and the woman who answered the phone explained that on Valentine's Day they didn't take reservations and that it "worked great". Again, I understand it was busy, but given the limited set menu, we thought this two hour window would be an adequate amount of time. Our salads had an odd grit to them, and my fiance's polenta pizza was room temperature. We had to wait 45 minutes between our appetizer and our main course. Our waitress was friendly, but said our entrees "would be right out" 25 minutes before they actually came. After 30 minutes without entrees we began to worry about being late for our show, and this anxiety occupied the rest of the time we were at your restaurant. When our entrees came we had to scarf them down, and get our desserts to go with the bill. The desserts were not what was advertised on the menu to my recollection, but a thawed slice of cake. Any of these things by themselves could be overlooked and the business certainly was an expected factor, but I just felt like we got very little value for the $150 we spent. I've been to Padrinos several times before and enjoyed the food, but we felt like the first half of our evening was spoiled.

Wonderful dinner with my beautiful wife of 20 years. The food is excellent as is the atmosphere. Most definitely a GP special gem. Management could kick the experience up just a touch to truly magical by investing in wait staff training. It was evident that they were trying their best but they just weren't up to par with a too quality establishment. Reaching across a table to pour wine, serving from the wrong side, rushing service... Small things but those that really do separate the average from the exceptional.

I would not recommend there take out service at all!! The Bruschetta app for 14$ looked like a take out from safeway, it was quite bland just disappointing. The “garlic bread” was the saddest part considering it was coming from a real “Italian” restaurant I thought it would be better. The spaghetti w/bison meat balls was okay, but for 25$ 4 meatballs that look like they come out of the frozen section at the grocery store is pretty bad. This is the first meal I have ever wanted to return for a refund but after working a 14 hour day, you will just about eat anything. I would say go to Safeway and save your money!

Tonight we came in and were turned away at the door due to lack of reservation (which we've never needed). Ok fine I understand, our schedule isn't set in stone but we weren't even given an option of when to come back just kicked out. So unfortunate.
