I had an amazing experience at Milan's! We went for my engagement party, and it was such a great time! I ordered the risotto and it was so delicious. They also have one of the best sangria's I've ever tried, would highly recommend it (I had it with red wine). Everyone at my table really enjoyed their food, and had a great experience. The service was great, and they were so kind to all of us! We were a big group, which can be so hectic, but everyone was so understanding, patient and nice! Would recommend !

I would place this restaurant style in the Italian fusion, a good choice of almost everything you can think of on a menu. The food is fresh, well prepared and the service was perfect. Ambiance is quite loud even on week night so I would not recommend going for a romantic dinner, but for a good time, definitely.

I liked to encourage local businesses and since they re-opened we did go about a week ago. I used to loved that place the food location was good. Not so much anymore. The beer came with stuff floating in it. Returned it second one tasted like bleach. Our burgers were barely cooked and cold. The bun feel apart and bacon was even cooked. Did even eat a ¼ of it. They did remove items from our bill but will not return. Avoid it! Not what is used to be!

I had steak. It was well prepared but the cut was subpar, very stringy and tough. The veggies I had were not completely cooked, unfortunately. Not their fault but sort of affected my opinion: I had to send back two bottles of wine because they were essentially vinegar. The ambiance was very ...family oriented. Loud, and they sing birthdays for kids kinda deal. Good if you have kids!

Good restaurant with a few drawbacks. First, I want to say that the food was pretty good for the price range. That said, the waitress never came to fill our glass of water nor has she ever suggested us anything to drink. No cooperation from him and just asked if we wanted anything else .... I demanded that we don't pay for the steak. We didn't eat it (with good reason). I NEVER go back. PLEASE AVOID THIS RESTO. Yen. Il nous offre de le remettre sur le grill (!!!! Ben voyons, c'est pas un stir fry de que jai demandé). Ça revient.. Tout aussi pas cuit... Je me plaint encore alors que le serveur nous avoue qu'il a TOUCHÉ À NOTRE STEAK AVANT QHE LA CUISINE LE REMETTE SUR LE GRILL.... pour nous confirmer qu'on avait "raison". J'ai fait venir le gérant. Pas de coopération de sa part et nous a simplement demandé si on voulait autre chose.... J'ai exigé qu'on ne pait pas pour le steak. On ne l'a pas mangé (avec raison). Je ne retourne plus JAMAIS. SVP EVITEZ CE RESTO. Yen. Des meilleurs ailleurs en ville.

Ok so I don't like knocking a business but we are either very picky or very unlucky compared to other reviewers. **Let me clear: this was not a disaster not a horrible place: it's fine and some stuff was very good. Unfortunately small details really piled up and sort of ruined it... To start with the place is nice; decor, layout, all pretty good. I mean once you get over where the restaurant actually is, but I mean... Gatineau... Anyway. Staff was very nice and courteous all through the evening. That being said, maybe our waiter was new or something but there were mistakes made. Quite a few actually. Appies: Port shrimps were tasty, but we're still trying to understand the whole baked potato at the bottom... Wings were very bland. The lemon coriander sauce with them was nice but there was about a tea spoon of it for 12 wings. Furthermore it wasn't on the wings but the plate, so unless I did like a Dickens character and wiped it like gruel with stale bread, it wasn't getting on them wings. Mains: my top sirloin was actually very good. Great seasoning and cooled exactly right. But... for one I had to ask for the steak knife. Small detail, got it, got over it. Then I was missing one side - loaded potatoes - which came a few minutes after. Not worth the wait, at all. Enough said. My date got the cod with a side of fries. She specifically asked to hold the cheese, which they did, except our waiter neglected to tell her the sauce is Parmesan based... So that was ruined. And the fries never showed up... Mind you I like cheese and I liked the sauce, but that's beyond the point: if she asked no cheese, then you should at the very least inquire why and then advise the main ingredient in the sauce the same freaking thing we just asked to NOT have! There were other irritants I'll spare you. All minor individually but they really piled up for one meal. Believe me when I say it's unfortunate because there were some items we really liked, but the overall experience was sub par. I very much believe in a recent place should be given a chance to get in gear, so I don't advocate avoiding the Milan, but I hope the holes will be patched sooner than later. Much luck!

The service was very lacking, maybe she was new. Our drinks took like 15-20 min to get to us so we couldn't even finish them before the meal came. One of our steaks was undercooked but they did compensate for it, my roasted carrots where almost raw so hard to cut. I really commend this restaurant for trying out new dishes and exciting ingredients. Definitely a fusion style menu. Unfortunately, I did not think all the food was amazing, just good; and I did not get to try the coleslaw at all... We ordered a number of items and sushi was a bit odd, not unpleasant, just probably not the flavours I would want combined again. Where I was most disappointed, however, was the quesadilla did not come with sides ordered. I was really looking forward to them, but it arrived alone (even though there are two sides included and we chose them when ordering). The burgers were delicious however, particularly the Redwood.

I ordered the steak and sushi and have to say that I was expecting more for my 30$ than 8 Maki's and a small bowl with 6 or so bite sized pieces of steak. I was done my "meal" before the rest of my party were served, and i'm a slow eater. It took almost an hour for our orders to be taken, and we were only brought bread after our meal. I am glad there was bread, because I was still hungry, and my dietary intake needs to include carbs (type 1 diabetes). It's a nice location, and the food is good, just don't order the steak and sushi (S & S) spend your money on something that's worth it.

We went to Milan for the first time on a Friday night. The setting is very nice. The menu had a lot of variety, maybe too much. With their menu, they appear to be all over the place. It would be better if they only offered one or two type of dishes- but that is my personnel opinion. We ordered 3 or 4 appetizers. They were all average, the tuna tartar was very bad. The fish was not fresh at all. The 3 dips nachos was very normal. We ordered 1 roll of sushi to give it a try - it was very good. As for the main dish we mainly had seafood - I really wasn't impressed. The quality of the food compared to the price of the dish didn't make sense. The salmon was a bit dry. The Royal Milan seafood plate isn't good either it lacked sauce- again it was dry. As for the service, it was decent. I read some of the reviews some are very good - it could have been an unlucky night for us.

Completely disgusting. I had the filet of sole with the side of scallops, vegetables and mashed potatoes. Me and my guest had the calamari as an appetizer and it was delicious. As an entree, we had the classic burger with fries. The burger was grilled and seasoned to perfection. We visited Milan for dinner on Saturday, a party of 11 and we were all amazed with the quality of food, the lovely ambiance and the great service we received. We ordered different dishes varying from Steak, Chicken, Samon and Suchi to Pasta and Burgers (to name a few), and with no exceptions, they were all tasty and delicious. ***Horrible customer service*** The worst customer service I have ever received. It took us over 40 min to get our drinks. I understand it was a busy night but there’s no excuse to not have a coke and ice tea brought to the table. I addressed our waitress when she gave us the appetizers and she was not very pleasant. Instead of apologizing, she gave us attitude explaining they are busy and we’d have to wait . After waiting about 20 min more and still not receiving our entree meal we decided to leave and asked for the bill . When our waitres brought the bill we explained the cesear salad was not good; the lettuce tasted extremely old . She replied in her unpleasant tone again saying nope we are wrong, the lettuce is fine . We paid the bill , she threw the receipt at us. We asked for a manager. No manager showed up after 10 min of waiting. Only when we were leaving Did a waitress came after us asking us what the problem was. We explained to and she apologized indicating she wasn’t the manager but she would pass this to the “big boss “. Save yourself the time and money. There are plenty of other places that would appreciate your money.

Steak was good but had to return it because it was blue in instead of medium. Went to the restroom, a kitchen employee came in, and did his businness, than he walked out of the restroom without washing his hand, and went back to the kitchen. Not impressed! Won't be going back.

This is by far my favourite place in the city. This was my first visit, and I was blown away by the ambiance, the level of high quality service, and of course the food is impeccable. It's hard to say what their signature dish is, simply because they've perfected every last option on the menu. Also their menu offers more than any other restaurant I've been to, this is quite pleasing! To finish it off, the boys in charge Steven, Joe, Eli and the rest of the staff are fine young gentleman that are super welcoming and make the experience that much better.

New and nicely decorated, great servers and nice music. The menu was not very interesting or appealing and we ended up not eating here... However, whatever was ordered by other tables looked and smelled quite good... Maybe it's the wording of the menu, maybe it was us not feeling the vibe, maybe it's just not for me! I wouldn't go back, but I also wouldn't tell anyone to avoid the place by any means.

I don’t know if this is due to COVID but service was slow they only had 2 waiters for the whole place. The food quality was also lower than what it used to be. The ribs were dry you could definitely feel that they were re-heated.

I was not sure what expect at Milan. We ordered the hummus and of course we didn’t read the details hummus is known. But to our surprise it came with cherries and cherry syrup. Some people might like it, for me it’s big NO NO. The steak was excellent, the sushi was really good. The Fattoush is ok. So my recommendation is take the burgers, steak and sushi, you will be happy. We were a large group so satisfaction was 50/50. Price wise is ok a bit on the higher end. 15$ for a Fattoush salad is a bit pricy and the portion was not large the bread made it look bigger.

On la vue à la commande et pour le service du vin. On l'a pas vue de la soirée, pas de tout va bien, nous avons eu un verre d'eau sans remplissage de toute la soirée. Service pas impressionnant. Je suis déçu de mon expérience encore une fois.

I booked this restaurant for a special birthday occassion and was very dissatisfied with the food here. We had the NY Steak and the Maple Salmon dishes. The steak was not cooked as asked and was very dry, tough and had very little taste. The potato puree was cold and clumpy and the gravy served with it had large pieces of black peppercorns which had a very strong over powering taste. The salmon dish was just okay, but lacked flavour. Our server barely attended to us during our time here and we noticed as non french speaking Canadians we weren't accommodated as well as others. The food took a very long as well and the service was not great. Would not return here.
