Love this place, I was on the bar side, at the bar... Barman was very serviable and knowledgeable. Menu has a good variety of grilled and braised meats and tartares; fish and sea food; poultry and a few vegetarian options. Mostly European cuisine with a Portuguese influence. If you're looking for good old traditional Portuguese cuisine, this not the place (I've been there many times so here's why I gave myself permission to write this). Classy place but not in a "nappe-blanche-you-dont-belong-here" kind of way. This place is a block or two away from the popular old-Hull bars, easy to forget but the only place to find good cuisine in the old-Hull area! ...Entrées ranged from 20ish to $32. Still the best bang for your dollazz in that hood!!

Drove half an hour from Ottawa to eat here. I'm pregnant (and overdue) and just wanted a nice lunch before the baby comes and will be housebound for awhile. When we arrived on a Monday just before 2 they said they were closed at 2pm. The hours on their website say lunch is until 3pm as a well as on Google. I understand business is slow so you changed your hours but please keep your website up to date because this is incredibly disappointing for people who are willing to make the trip because of your good reviews.

In July 2015, we booked for a total of 25 people at Cellier to celebrate the retirement party with a colleague. Everything seemed in order for the food, the room and the arrival time of the guests (from 15:00 until 19:00). A few days before the date of the event, I received a call with a very condescending tone from the manager requesting immediate confirmation for the number of guests and a clarification that we had to pay the entire number of guests because she had to pay the extra staff for this event. No suggestion from him was offered to validate a smaller number in order to avoid untoward costs but we realized that this should be the case for our future experiences. The following events took place and here is why we were very disappointed with our Cellier experience: • As soon as we arrived, one of the Cellier staff did not know the menu that was going to be served. • While a few guests had just arrived, the manager humiliated us with a condescending tone telling us that only 6 people had purchased the package and that the bookings were for 25 people. • We felt that we had to pay all the guests as soon as they arrived when in due time we wanted them to become familiar with the places and especially with the guests. This caused a very unpleasant atmosphere and atmosphere! • A total of 25 people are actually present at the Cellar, however, due to time and other unforeseen circumstances that can not be controlled by the organizers, only 15 people paid the so-called package at $ 26 (including tips and taxes) . Note that the rest of the guests however consumed alcoholic beverages even though they did not purchase the package. • After a negotiation with the manager and her tone, we distributed with her the expenses of people who did not take the package ($ 100 per game). We hate the need to charge our guests immediately for the package and serivce of the Cellar. Also, we did not appreciate that some guests waited several times, a long time of absence from the server to receive their consumption. With that, please accept, Madam, Sir, my sincere greetings. (Original) Avis à tous, En tant qu'organisatrice, je vous suggère fortement de ne pas d'organiser un évènement au Cellier. Voici en résumé notre expérience vécu le vendredi 11 septembre 2015. Au mois de juillet 2015, nous avons réserver pour un total de 25 personnes au Cellier afin de célébrer le party de retraite à une collègue. Tout semblait en ordre pour la nourriture, la salle et l’heure d’arrivée des invités (dès 15h00 allant jusqu’à 19h00). Quelques jours avant la date de l’évènement, j’ai reçu un appel avec un ton très condescendant de la gérante demandant une confirmation immédiate pour le nombre d’invités et une précision que nous nous devions de payer la totalité du nombre d’invités car elle se devait de payer le nombre d’employé extra pour cet évènement. Aucune suggestion de sa part nous a été offert pour valider un nombre plus petit afin d’éviter des coûts fâcheux par contre nous avons compris qu’il devait être ainsi pour nos futures expériences. Le cours des évènement suivants ont donc eu lieu et voici pourquoi nous avons été très déçus de notre expérience au Cellier : • Dès notre arrivée, l'une des employés du Cellier ne savaient pas le menu qui allait être servi. • Alors que quelques invités venaient d'arriver, la gérante nous a humilier avec un ton condescendant pour nous aviser que seulement 6 personnes avaient acheter le forfait et que les réservations étaient pour 25 personnes. • Nous avons sentis que nous devions faire payé tous les invités dès leurs arrivée alors qu'en temps opportun, nous voulions qu'ils se familiarise avec les lieux et surtout avec les invités. Ceci a donc causé une atmosphère et ambiance très désagréable! • Un total de 25 personnes ce sont effectivement présenter au Cellier, par contre, par contrainte de temps et autres imprévue non-contrôlable par les organisatrices, seulement 15 personnes ont payé le soit disant forfait à 26$ (incluant le pourboire et les taxes). Prenez note que le reste des invités ont toutefois consommés des boissons alcoolisé même s'ils n'ont pas acheté le forfait. • Après une négociation avec la gérante et son ton hautin, nous avons répartie avec elle les frais des personnes qui n'ont pas pris le forfait (100$ par partie). ‘’Une entente’’ pour rapporter la nourriture nous a été proposé par contre, tous les restaurants offre cette option… • Suite à cette entente, deux employés du Cellier sont tout de suite venu débarrasser la table de nourriture alors que tous les invités étaient encore là. Nous nous sommes donc mis dans l’obligation de demander de remettre la nourriture sur la table car ceci était très impolie auprès de nos invités au cas ou ils auraient encore envie de grignoter. Nous comprenons le temps et la main d'œuvre que le Cellier a du planifier pour nous offrir ce service vendredi dernier. Nous sommes conscient qu'ils ont fait rentrer d'autres employés par contre nous avons eu qu'un serveur au cours de notre réservation et le plateau de nourriture qui nous a été offert était présenter sur une assiette non plusieurs pour accommoder le grand nombre d’invités. J’aimerais souligner à nouveau le ton et l’attitude désagréable de la gérante qui nous a fait sentir comme si nous n’étions pas les bienvenue au Cellier. Nous avons détester le besoin de faire payer immédiatement nos invités pour le forfait et serivce du Cellier. Également, nous n’avons pas apprécié que quelques invités ont attendu à plusieurs reprises, un long moment d’absence de la part du serveur pour recevoir leur consommation. Cellier is always good. I've been there several times once for the Thursday tartare special and many more times at lunch. If you're planning lunch or dinner take the time to make a reservation this place is always busy. The lunch menu is great and changes constantly so you don't get bored of the same menu options. Most of what we ate was delicious, well thought out, however the lamb was severely under-seasoned despite the chimichurri. The asparagus risotto entrée was delightful which made the dry lobster risotto a bit sad, despite it being well seasoned and loaded with lobster. The cooking temperature of the meat dishes was spot on and every desert we tried was wonderful. Would have given 4 stars if it weren't for almost being urged to leave for the next reservation and having our dishes pushed out faster than could be eaten. Highly recommend the tuna tataki entrée.

Great ambiance good food and good wine list. Had the lobster risotto, beef and lamb. Risotto and beef were very good. The lamb was not! We mentioned it to our server and she said she would see what she could do but then dropped off the bill and charged us for the barely touched lamb. It's official, the best steak tartare we have had in our lives (we have one once a week) this the highest compliment!). Salmon Tartare was mouth watering as well. Oysters were incredible with the most divine sauces. We also had the Beef short rib, which followed the trend of delicious food. A great bottle of wine from Greece, 5 or 6 cocktails and it was a good night (i think, little blurry). Amazing 5* meal. Apparently Tartare is 50% off on Thursday's, can't wait for that! Our server was friendly, and extremely helpful.

Food was good exept for one entree "the burrata" cheese plater .....it was served to us almost frozen, i dis mention it to our waitress expecting her to di something about it but all she did was tell me that it is normal, that is the way they serve this particular type of cheese there !!!! I'm no 5 star chef, but I do know this cheese should always be served fresh and at room temperature ! The rest was ok so hesitating between a 2 or 3 star rating.....I truly was disappointed!
