first experience at a french restaurant, ordered the five course meal. it was really a one-of-a-kind experience, the best service and food i’ve ever had. A server by the name of Jean(sp) really hit the nail on the head with his ever so polite and friendly demeanour. The dishes were so very unique and the flavours of the ingredients meshed together so well. Based on my experience, this restaurant alone would be a reason to take a trip to Gatineau. Also, one last thing to mention - the dessert menu only had mocha/raspberry&chocolate ice cream, but they accommodated a request of ours, and provided regular chocolate with a side of maple-roasted pecans. i must emphasize that the service was truly out of this world.

I had heard of this restaurant for years but never intended to go because I didn’t think it was for me. It wasn’t. We had a set menu with the wine pairings and the wines were either super sweet or so strong/spicy I couldn’t drink them. Maybe if I had a more refined palet I would have enjoyed them. The food was good, but something about all the artistic design in the presentation makes it less appetizing to me. I think this restaurant is meant for people that are into fussy, showy, casino dinning. Also, the kitchen staff (visible from the dining room) were all wearing orange safety vests in some kind of union/work to rule situation. It wasn’t a bother or anything, just a little surprising.

Went there on Dec. 23rd, 2015. We were a party of 3. Service was very high calibre and food was excellent. Wine steward knew her wine list very well. Did not feel hurried. Felt comfortable. A lot of smiles and very professional attitude. Two of us had Lamb and the third had Bison. Consider Le Baccara to be one of top restaurants in Ottawa region.

This a way overdue review, but a much deserved one. I was taken here for my birthday by my partner and didn't know what to expect other then the fact that this restaurant is situated in the casino. Our server was extremely talented and informative and I was told he has been at Le Baccara for years. His experience and suggestions elevated my experience even more. The food was absolutely divine and seeing as my birthday was last April (wasn't kidding about the long overdue review), I can't remember what I ate exactly. The highlight of my night was my adamant demand for Cheesecake that wasn't even on the menu, but was somehow fulfilled by our amazing server. That made my night. Oh, and you're able to purchase a bottle of wine and re-cork it to take it with you which was a great idea and was an incentive to purchase a bottle. 5/5

Went for our anniversary dinner. Both had the tasting menu with the wine pairing. We've had the fortune of dining at many exceptional restaurants around the world, and every time we catch ourselves looking back at this meal and are suprised at just how good it was. The service was absolutely impeccable. Friendly, attentive, suggestions by the sommelier were on point. The food...every course done to perfection. Every ingredient was well thought out in the dish and was presented nicely. Finally the ambiance...in a casino away behind anothet restaurant, quiet, great view of the lake. We can't wait to return and suggest for a special dinner, or just to have some incredible food, you dine at Le Baccara.

Spectacular restaurant! Absolutely amazing. From the food to the furnishings without fault. The most outstanding part of this restaurant is the service. The creme brulee though not on the menu was good. Foie gras was on point. The lamb was succulent and the veal cut itself. I highly recommend this restaurant.

Such a Special Christmas Eve dining at Le Baccara. From the Live Trio playing Beautiful Christmas songs to the Excellent Service and Next Level food, we couldn't have had a better Eve. Each Course was incredible and I loved that they had fabulous Vegetarian options ( and a Vegan one for Dessert!). The Ambianceand View were Perfect. If the Snow had started to fall, we commented that it would have felt like we were in a Hallmark Christmas Movie...lol.

An experience out of this world. From the perfect service provided my Sylvain and Sebastian and the rest of the team, to the wine recommended by Danielle, onto the delectable burst of flavour provided the 8 course meal from the chefs; this experience was amazing. I will not go into details so that you foodies can get the surprise. But allow me to say that the food this season was inventive and with an attention to detail that you rarely see these days. Go is all I can say, taste the 8 course meal. While the a la carte menu is very good as well, the chef's recommendations is the way to go. Strap on for a food adventure that crosses the world.

I’ve heard so many good things about the Baccara. It was a complete disappointmentment for my dinner reservation. I ordered the beef which really had no taste at all. I also wasn’t able to locate salt or pepper to even try and spice it up a little. It said it came with baby carrots. I’ve seen baby carrots and the carrots on my plate was the size of a penny. My food portions where small and not really worth the $46.00 in my opinion. The service was excellent top notch even thou I paid for my uneaten plate of food. I’ve been to this casino many times and the buffet restaurant is by far much better.

Excellent food, attentive/curteous service, and a beautiful view. Came to this 5-star dining restaurant for Christmas dinner and it completely lives up to expectations. The food was immaculate - every dish explained. Even for starters, the bread had a slightly harder crust with a warm soft centre, the salted butter was imported and the server explained where it was from. The beef tenderloin was soft as butter, and accompanied with the chef’s choice of sides. The sides blended perfectly with the dish. Their barley risotto was immaculate and tasted better than fresh rice. I asked for a bit of potatoe to be incorporated - the chef blended a potatoe purae into the dish that was exquisite. The pricing was also very reasonable considering the high standard of food that was provided. 5/5 for sure.

Restaurants can't get much better then this. My wife and i had the 7 course blind + 5 course set ( we wanted to try all the dishes) + 2 bottles of wine. Finally a $500.00 meal that was worth every penny. I can't tell you how many times we have had $500 meals and felt ripped off for the value, this was fantastic. Each dish was spectacular to look at, and tasted even better.

Went to le baccar on weekend evening after new year's concert with my wife. The service were flawsless and excellent! Cocktails were also very delicious! We ordered tasting menu, every course is outstanding. The menu also came with assorted artisan bread, tasty amuse bush, and super delicate chocolate truffles. The whole meal was bit pricey but everything worse it. Thank you for this remarkable and wonderful evening.

Loved the Beef Tartar! It was the highlight to my birthday dinner. The service was great, however, our server spilt some sauce from a main dish that I had ordered, and it fell on my lap and on the table cloth. Although he did apologize multiple of times, I wasn’t expecting that. The food was great however, and fair priced.
