Great tasting food and friendly service. We made our reservation the day of and there was no issue getting a spot for 4 with proper social distancing in place. We felt safe and warmly welcomed. The time from order to being served was faster than we expected and the quality was great. I highly recommend Haru Izakaya

Delicious, you want a good lunch or supper to fill you up. My recommendation is don’t go alone. It’s not a cheap restaurant, the fish is always fresh and the food is high quality, so bring a friend and share the bill. Its worth it! You like tuna, try the Spicy tuna rolls, they also offer it with salmon. A real delicacy! The Edamame are a good appetizer, and if you want something filling and delicious, try the sea food pizza sushi. You’ll drool seeing them arrive!

The restaurant has a trendy atmosphere and the staff is very friendly. I ordered the seafood poutine and the ribs which both came highly recommended by the waiter. The poutine was very tasty and was pleasant at first. I kind of found the white sauce a bit too thick when the fries tend to absorb some of it making it even thicker. Combining the seafood sauce and the fries is a good and creative way of making a poutine. The ribs on the other hand were a bit disappointing. They felt like boiled down in plain water and were tossed in a sweet sauce afterwards. In general it is a nice spot to hang out with friends and to grab a few drinks and snacks.

Very disappointed. This restaurant has been around for a while now and i've been wanting to try it and with the current pandemic, we had to get take-out of course. There were two of us, one of us ordered a poke bowl which had a dressing that only tasted of rice wine vinegar and did not have much in it and fried dumplings which were actually delicious. Second order was a seaweed salad which was fine, spring rolls which were very obviously frozen and tasted like the ones from thaizone and a katsu chicken with Japanese curry. For the curry, every single one of the vegetables in the dish were undercooked and the white rice that came with it, was crunchy in some parts which made me stop eating it. Overall, very very mediocre. Maybe a better experience in person. I'd suggest to the restaurant for the katsu, to put the curry in a separate container to keep the chicken crispy.

The place smells so you will have to wash your coat afterwords. Small plates (they pretend that it is tapas style, but it is pricey if you add up all the small plates you got to have to have a proper dinner) not Japanese. As Gordon Ramsey says, it is "confusion". FANTASTIC! In my opinion, best sushi place in Ottawa-Gatineau. I have no idea why others would have any complaints. Dishes are not too big (which is a major sore point for me in our north american society) and could care less about it being a bit "expensive" which I don't think it is. Although the Makis (sushis) were excellent, I recommend staying away from the Tapas. We have finished the meal with some tapas and it was either deep fried or too fatty. I had impression eating raw bacon when I got the pork sirloin. I am sure Japanese people don't eat like that. I finally asked the waitress to finish with a house recommendation that would be lighter, to forget the oily fatty dishes they served us, and yet, the waitress came back with oily deep fried crab balls. I took a quarter of a bite and left the rest there. I went back home with an upset stomach.. and an upset wallet (very expensive) Furthermore, service was bad: the waitress was definitely spending too much time at one specific table, providing a complete course of Asian cuisine to a couple... to a point where I had to go myself at the bar and ask for drinks.

Higher than average prices for mediocre food. Much of the fare comes out of the deep fryer and was not very well though out in terms of flavour. Service was well below standard. Even found a hair in the sauce and little was done to remedy the problem. Much of the service was about going through the motions but missing the point. What isn't good about this great place? We've gone there many many times, for all occasions, and each time was great. The service is awesome, very nice employees! And the food is simply delicious. They basically give you a menu with full of different dishes and you choose the ones you'd like to make your own buffet. You can also order some more if you would like. The dining area is just as awesome as the rest of the restaurant! Definitely something I would recommend!

I eat out three or four nights out of the week and we often try new places .. This place takes me over a hour to travel to but we go quite often cause the foods good there place is nice and it's really different compared to any other restaurant.
