We had a really delicious brunch at Bistro Coqlicorne! The patio is so cute and quaint in the summer and we were seated right away (around 10am on a Sunday, it got busier afterwards). Between those in my group we tried 3 out of the 5 menu options, all of which were fantastic! The servers were very friendly and helped to translate when needed. We are definitely going to return soon!

Excellent service, the waitress was very knowledgeable and kind. I highly recommend the place for their brunch at reasonable prices (around 15$). The eggs came a bit too cold, but the food was overall excellent. I am always thankful for refills of coffee and water and the waitress was discreet but yet very good at taking care of us. This was my first time here and so far it seems like a great place to eat. The quality of food pleasantly surprised me. The ace is not far from portage. Only downfall is that it takes a while to get your food once ordered. But this could be because it's rush hour. The place is small inside but they can accommodate for work get togethers. The decor is a little weird though. It's a little too warm inside but overall would go again. I urge anyone who's in the area to give it a try. In terms of prices.. I'd say to have a good well balanced meal, drink and all, a good $30 is needed. It is possible to eat for cheaper however.

It's a small cozy spot that serves brunch, lunch and dinner. They have a bar but in the morning it doesn't give off a vibe like that which made it easy to sit down and enjoy brunch. Kind staff and definitely one of the best brunches I've ever had. I had the Jean Dallaire dish which had a beautiful presentation, amazingly unique Maple tomato sauce, fresh well cooked bacon, runny poached eggs, delicious bread and properly cooked potatoes with seasoning. It's hard to describe how nice the entire presentation was, much less the variety of strong flavors present. The icing on the cake for me is that coffee is included in the brunch. That's a huge deal because most brunch places now charge 2-3$ extra for coffee that's often watery. This one was not and they really deserve a nod for it. I will come back for sure!

I've been here a few times but it was the first time for brunch. Smaller menu, but thankfully the bar was fully operational! They have a few local craft brews on tap, and of course mimosas. The menu choices may be small, but just look at the pictures for the size of the plates! I took the french toast grilled cheese pulled pork sandwich (!!) and I liked it, and certainly never had a combo like this before. All of our plates were good, but in some cases it lacked a bit of seasoning. Thankfully they have a few hot sauces available. Plates aren't cheap - 15-18$ for breakfast - but the size of the plates and overall quality make it worth it. Excellent service too. The poutines are apparently quite good, too.

Lovely cozy place. In summer they have a relatively large patio. Food came out fairly quickly despite there being many patrons in the patio. There is no air con inside so in summer it is best to sit outside. Waiters can speak French and English though they prefer French. I have been here several times! Twice on their special poutine nights which are on Tuesdays. Their burger is quite good and comes with fries and salad. We have also ordered the Arancini and crab cake. This time we ordered the duck risotto (large) and the poutine with short ribs (large) . Both were delish but the risotto was the clear winner. I wish the fries on my poutine would stay hot longer. Also wish they were more Crisp and not as soggy. Overall the risotto was the best. There were beets, mushrooms and a good amount of cheese. Definitely one to re- order.

Great food! Tastes fresh, flavorful, and a good presentations. You definitely need to put aside at minimum 2 hours if you go with 6+ people for lunch. We sat in the patio area outside and there were a lot of wasps. So if you aren't a fan of bugs, I highly suggest that you reserve a spot inside.

The food was very good and the portions were decent. I had ordered the club des 100 watts and my girlfriend had the yogi burger. Both were delicious and properly seasoned. I was just disappointed in the service. We had asked for a soup (which was supposed to be included for an extra $2.95) and he charged us full price for a soup we didn't intentionally ask for. Also, my original order had a mix up as I asked for a sandwhich verson of the club des 100 watts and he gave me a wrap, he fixed it so not a big deal. I would recommend this place, but I suppose it may be necessary to clarify your order with the waiter and or waitress.

While exploring the sentier cultural, we decided to check out this place for supper. It did not disappoint. We sat outside on the patio under the tree. So beautiful! Great service! Diverse, unique menu. I tried an Avril Sour drink and chose duck dumplings, which came with a salad. Delicious! My partner had a La Morsure beer and burger of the day accompanied by fries and coleslaw, which also did not disappoint. Highly recommend this bistro.

My friend and I ended up here by total chance after driving to Gatineau from Ottawa to explore a bit. Only two patios were open for lunch at the time, we chose here with zero idea of what to expect. First off, when there is a duck dish on a menu, I almost always get it… and there were THREE duck dishes. I have never seen this in my life — we split the duck dumplings (middle photo) and both had the duck with mushroom risotto for our main. Let me tell you that this was one of the best meals I have had in my life — I want to go back and have it as soon as I can. Delicious, interesting, beautiful… we spoke about the amazing vegetables afterwards maybe even more than the duck.. and I LOVE duck! Don’t hesitate, go here. Can’t wait to go back. Service was awesome and happy, too, despite how understaffed I think they probably were (an industry problem right now). Food came very fast. Just great! ????

This place has delicious brunch on the weekend, and they serve coffee from Bluebarn Coffee Roasters (located in Wakefield, QC). They also have a great dinner/drink menu, (my favorite is the Yogi Burger with a Cidre). The atmosphere is cozy, and they have a big patio to relax and enjoy everything that they have to offer.

This was my second time here, and it was as wonderful as my first visit. To start, we had olives, ceviche, and duck. All were delicious. I had a salad topped with goat cheese, which was perfect for a warm summer evening. The others in my party had boar, trout, and the special, which was some kind of chicken organ meat. The food was excellent quality, and the atmosphere was casual. I have two minor complaints. First, it took quite awhile for us to be served the tapas, but it was well worth it. Second, the special was small. I think there was some confusion over whether this was a meal-sized special or a tapas-sized special.

Very interesting and unique brunch menu, as I can only speak for that. I was not disappointed with the selection, xome of the fla our pairing were a bit to radical for someone who doesn't have a big sweet tooth. But I enjoyed it just the same. Went for dinner. It was our first time there in a while. Previously I had only been for lunch - which is always good - and dinner was unreal! My hubby had duck and I had arancini, both were fantastic. Generous portions at very reasonable prices. We also both got a ton of local mushrooms on our plate. Excellent food. Interesting options, tasted well, cozy interior. I had tuna tartar and it was pretty different to all the ones that I had before because of a gentle a bit sweet sauce and usage of cucumbers. The cheesecake with white chocolate and berries was pretty good as well, even though the crust was not crispy. Be prepared that the menu is only in French though. Probably better to reserve in advance or come at a bit earlier time.

Disappointing. My wife and I shared tapas. Portions were really small and the food was not worth the price. For instance, over $10 for 3 or 4 chicken wings and a piece of corn cob. I can make chicken wings just as easily and as good on the grill at home. Furthermore the restaurant did not have AC and it was very warm, which did not contribute to the experience. On the plus side they have a very wide selection of bottled beer, however they only have a small selection of beer on tap (although do have one non-regular beer on tap which changes regularly). Expect about $70 for two if you each have a beer and share four small tapas.

What a gem! As out-of-towners, we were scrambling for a place to eat after sugar shacking plans fell through. They were super accommodating, taking in our party of 5 + 1 baby. We finished at about 3, and they were super nice about it. 3 of us had the Jiminey coquette (love the name), and it was amazing. The coquette was crispy on the outside and the tasty duck confit on the inside. The arugla salad had just the right dressing paired blue cheese crumbles. The toast was the right amount of crunch and soft bread nuttiness. The poutine had a flavourful gravy with hints of smokiness. The cheese curds were of a generous amount and the small portion of ribs that it came with was so tender. The kale and eggs brought it in line with the brunch feel and balanced it very well. My friend had the Hippocampe Camping, with thick slices of beet marinated trout gravlox with 2 perfectly good poached eggs. The cream sauce was amazing and had a silky texture. What an amazing brunch experience!

Did not expect amazing food in the Hull area. At first I avoid all the restaurants on Laval as there was literally no one outside on the streets. But one night we just took a chance and walked into Bistro Coqlicorne and were blown away. Restaurant was packed and we got the last seats at the bar. Lots of beer options on tap at decent prices. Food menu had a excellent variety of food from a burger and wrap to amazing plated food like beef short rib. Flavours were awesome, portions were huge and the staff were super nice. Loved everything about this place.

Excellent food and beautiful plating! However, it took over an hour to get our food, even our drinks took forever to arrive! I hope that it's only because they were short staff that day! The waiter didn't apologize for anything, acted like it was normal, the restaurant wasn't even full either! Fortunately for them, the food was good enough for me to give them a second chance! Pretty mediocre. Did not feel welcome as primarily anglophone customers. Une des femmes était très plaisante mais avec l'autre (avec la frange) c'était comme si elle nous rendait service en prenant notre commande. Cod entrée and beef hamburger were very good, but Portuguese chicken drumsticks were a sad attempt at an entree as they were only accompanied by a smear of some kind of purée and a few leaves of lettuce. The beef tacos were just OK. The cod tacos were too creamy and totally lacked an acidic element and the accompaniment of a healthy serving of cilantro which to me would have been an obvious complement to the dish. Would strongly recommend adding an English version to the menu descriptions for inclusion in an evenly balanced population of anglophone and francophone diners. It felt too exclusive and did not deliver food-wise or service-wise. Overall, we would never return.

Nice brunch spot, food was good! Unfortunately my dish was lukewarm borderline cold. If you don’t speak English be prepared to kind of figure it out on your own as there are no English menus. I would not say the service is good for its speed & it’s reasonably priced for a brunch on Sunday. Get here early or call for resos as it’s one of the only brunch locations that will take reservations. Would come back to try other dishes.
