The restaurant is quiet cozy tucked away between stores. The poutine comes Weh your choice of sauce from original to, pepper and barbecue - or you could make it a lobster poutine. Overall not a bad place for a quick bite or lunch.
Great Vodka Lemonade, nice atmosphere, amazing place to be with a friend or friends.
Excellent meal!
The service here was quite good, better than some of the places we visited on our trip to Gaspe. Overall, the food was enjoyable. The ingredients were local and fresh, which was a huge bonus for us. Prices seem to be pretty consistent with other prices in the area, which is to say a bit pricier than other, less touristy parts of the province. Shrimp poutine seems to be a local thing, as we noticed it on a few menus. We decided to try it, as when else would we get the opportunity to try a shrimp poutine. It was... Different. The shrimp was definitely fresh and tasty on their own, but the poutine itself felt light, and it kind of took away from the heart of a classic, heavy poutine. I ordered the Smoked Salmon and Sun-dried Tomato Linguini. It was quite good, and the amount of salmon was perfect. I would have, however, preferred the cuts of salmon not to be so thick or as big. Thinner and smaller cuts, with the same proportions might have made each bite a tad more satisfying, as sometimes it felt like I had a big chunk of salmon with my pasta, where as other times it was just pasta with no salmon. Overall though, the pasta was still quite delicious, and the salmon flavour was really imparted into the dish itself. If you're in Gaspe and looking for a place to eat, we would definitely recommend Brise Bise.
Great restaurant, quite pricey but Gaspé tends to be expensive. The calamari was excellent, not too chewy or oily and it came with a nice aioli sauce. The portion size was a little small but it was one of the cheaper appetizers so it wasn't unexpected. I had the shrimp and smoked salmon club for my main course and it was refreshing and delicious. The fries were great as well and the Pit Caribou black beer was very nice. The service was good too, waitresses were nice and food did not take too long to arrive.
You must try the seafood nachos! Expensive but worth it. Also the bouillabaisse was the best ever— totally my favourite thing any of us had there! Our waitress was wonderful. We ate way too much.
The food is really good and the restaurant is really nice. Don't expect to get a cheap meal bit the portions are pretty good and the quality of the food is great. I ordered the shrimp poutine and the club sandwich with lobster. Both were amazing. Whoever decided to put shrimp on poutine is a genius.
We visited twice during our time in Gaspe. The staff is super friendly and if you ask them what they recommend, take their advice! The seafood is super fresh and just overall a really cool vibe.
Great food. Staff is excellent. Beer is local. Nice selecting of wines. All this in a great little town. Cannot reserve though. Must wait in line. What more can you ask for
Very tasty and we'll seasoned food. Not cheap, definitely worthwhile.
Stopped in for lunch on a September Saturday. Service was friendly and fast, the food was very good. We had a nice table overlooking the harbour and York river. Highly recommended!
Excellent food and a nice selection of craft beer. The mussels were awesome and fresh. Shrimp Poutine was supposed to be "legendary" and it was good (but did not rise to that level IMHO)
Wonderful views and pleasant walks on the hiking routes.the land's end is a special treat for the eye on a sunny day.
I was impressed with the selection of local beers on tap. The nachos were quite big and we couldn't finish them(very salty though) and the salss was not homemade. I was very disappointed when I got the shrimp poutine. The fries and gravy were hot but the shrimp was cold. Almost frozen. Would be a lot better if it was fresh instead of the frozen mini shrimp. Not a bad place. Sit outside out back if you can, the view is nice.
Food was good and satisfying. Service was great.. They have sectioned areas for the covid but each section was small. Once you sit at the table it is almost claustrophobic with the hanging partitions banging you when either you or yhe person behind uou moves.. But food was great snd service terrific
Great views! Cosy and cute location. Good food. Some options are much better than others. Bouillabaisse was pretty good but unfortunately the fried clams were not. Staff are very friendly and can mostly help you in English and French.
Don’t think it’s worth the hype. The waiting line takes a while. We got the lobster sandwich and fish & chips. The fish & chips was average, but they use some type of blue cheese sauce instead of tartar?!! The fish pieces are a bit small. The lobster sandwich is good but then I bit in a huge piece of lobster claw in the sandwich ??? It was really sharp and could easily cut someone’s tongue, especially if it were eaten by children. We notified the server and all she said was sorry. Again, mediocre food, doesn’t worth the wait and the rating
Very good portion and food , I liked it very much
Good food. Good service! ????
A bit on the pricy side but the vibe, the view from the patio, and the seafood make you feel it’s worth every penny! As of the service: When we first arrived there were not a table for 4 people, but the waitress agreed to put together two tables so that we can get together. Highly appreciated!
Average food however the poutine was delicious
Best place to have seafood.
Food was authentic and tasty. Service was friendly. Sangria was nothing special.
Recommend the soup and lobster club sandwich.
Very we ordered was delicious.
Great food! There are definitely line ups! Luckily we only had 2 groups ahead of us. Worth the wait!
I’ll be honest, I wasn’t sure at first what a crevettes poutine would be like, but Brise Bise knows what they’re doing. Everything that came to our table, from the Coquille filled with seafood to the risotto with lobster and scallops, to the fish and chips and shared strawberry cheesecake was great. A must-eat when in Gaspé.
Took our food to go; the salmon tartar and poke bowl were delicious
Fantastic restaurant and ambiance.
Long wait but worth it. We had the bouillabaisse and the seafood linguine and they were just what we needed after a long day of hikes. Delicious.
Delicious food, drinks and great staff. Would recommend for you if you're looking for a casual place to eat and relax
It's on small downtown Street of Gaspe. Food taste was amazing. Just an FYI their online menu is not an updated one.
We have nothing like this in Alberta so the shrimp poutine is to die for. Agree with other reviewers on that the shrimp should be warm/hot instead of cold. Everything else is wonderful. A solid 4-star restaurant.
Great food and staff was friendly. The location was nicely located in the center of town. The meals were slightly small.
Vegetarian here so I got the veggie burger which was pretty substantial and tasted great. My wife had the seafood linguine and enjoyed it. More lobster than she anticipated, which was welcome. Service can be a bit slow if you're in a hurry.
Super friendly staff, extremely delicious food. I absolutely recommend their bouillabaisse, although be warned: it's a sizeable portion!
Good place to eat n drink
I had my best fish and chips here. The service is also amazing. I totally recommend it.
Overall, the food was excellent. Worth visiting. Don't miss the cream pasta and robster sandwiches!!
Nice place, good service and great fish n' chips.
Delicious seafood nachos. A plate to share. :)
A pleasant rest stop on our way to Forillon National Park. Nice selection of beer, excellent sandwiches.
Nachos 5 star, the rest of the food I give a 4. Definitely a good spot to check out when in town.
Great place, delicious food, friendly staff
Excellent food and service. It worth waiting 15mins .
Best resto in Gaspe!
Great armosphere, patio, service and deliscious food.
Not a fancy place but the food is pretty good! Prices are reasonable, service is great and food is very good compared to city seafood! We came from Ottawa as a result fresh seafood is not very common We ordered calamari and fish and chips. The calamari was great! Super fresh and tasted amazing. The sauce that came with it was great too. The salad actually was very good as well. The fish for the fish and chips where great. Super fresh also and badder was not thick. We upgraded the fries to poutine but was charged $5! That was not cool because the poutine was super small! The poutine was not good! The gravy was zesty! I know how can a gravy be zesty not salty? ORDER ONLY Seafood! 10/10 Poutine 6/10 Enjoy
Very delicious foods and good service!
The food is really so-so, this town doesn't have many good restaurants, that's why this one become one of the top.
Lot of history, great service, delicious food, enough said....
A lot of very variety of seafood. Do not leave this place without getting a dessert. The sugar maple pie is exquisite ❤.
When I arrived, lobster was out of season, but they were super friendly. The Nachos I got were huge, and were enough for two people! Great cute little restaurant with a new view of the harbor. Definitely a go-to in Gaspe
Overated ... pizza was very bland, calamarie was overfried, wait was over an hour, service was slow.
One of the only restaurants in town besides the “cantines”
Great food, service and atmosphere. I really enjoyed the poke bowl with matane shrimp. Kids' size poutine, clubs and salad were good too.
Average food, friendly service, nice location with a terasse. Took the seafood linguini, it was slightly watery and lukewarm.
Amazing food + service! Spent two nights in Gaspé and decided to come here twice!!
Went to a group of 16 dinner at the restaurant. It's very expensive and the fish and chips ordered were okay, very dry. I liked the dish Seafood Coquille which was very good. The lobsters ordered by others were terrible and the price was too high @ $40! I would have expected live seafood that you can choose/order from in aquarium in such a demanding town Gaspe. Looks like there is not any other choice for seafood there.
Great food, service was a little slow but that's just because we were in a hurry. If you are in no rush this place has amazing food and friendly staff. Will be coming back. Fish and chips were to die for and they have a great selection of beers!
Extremely overpriced for small portions and mediocre food I could make better at home.
While the staff was lovely, the lobster I ordered was terrible. The party I came with were similarly disappointed with their orders, especially given the high prices. If you absolutely must eat here, the seafood nachos were okay (compared to everything else).
Fresh seafood and amazing taste!
Great food and very good service.
Food is ok but the fries could have been much better. Ambiance is nice, eventhough our waitress was all over the place. Only ok, but we will not be going back.
It was amazing experience! Lobster was great!
To start: my girlfriend and I ate there 2 days ago. Great service Claude, alright food. Was it worth the 45 minute wait? Maybe. Wait in line to get on the list, wait to be called. If you are not there to hear your name, you get dropped. Today we went back. Waited in line 45 mins, waited in list. Greeter came to us and suggested we go to the bistro entrance below as it is a quicker process. There we were greeted with another 45 min wait. We decided Provigo deserved our money more. At least there, there was a tiny lineup. Owner, feel free to tell me how my opinion is wrong as you have done with others. Explain that you valued my time.
Great food! Great service!
Definitely the best restaurant in Gaspe. Unfortunately the line up is long but its worth the wait. great food and lots of choice. thanks to Quebec passport its safe to eat inside
Good service but the lobster club sandwich is overrated and overpriced. Did not meet my expectations. Unfortunately I would not go back and not recommend.
Food was great. Especially poke bowl with shrimp was really good. At first it didn't look appealing but the taste was amazing. The service was amazing too.
Very nice place and tasty meals.
This place is ridiculous. They don't even print out in front of the restaurant that they accept only guests with vaccination card. The doorman was repeating like a rude arrogant parrot that no vaccination card no service.
Not worth the wait. We stood in line for over an hour before being seated with service being quite slow.. Food was better then what other restaurants were offering at the time in Gaspe, but it was exceptionally pricey. The seafood was obviously frozen from a wholesaler instead of fresh from the wharf. We had better fare in Perce.
Loved it. First of all service was exemplary. Was served by Marie-Jo. Great service very friendly. The food was delicious and believe me I am hard to please. Prices are very decent. I recommend. Will go again next time I am in this area
The service here is amazing! We ate here twice while we were in Gaspe. The food is good by small town standards so lower your expectations if you are from a larger city. They close early too (even on the weekends) so make sure to go early. The lobster club sandwich was my favourite meal.
Great setting and casual atmosphere and seafood.
Sat outside and felt pretty safe. had a shrimp poutine, which was a first for me and genuinely enjoyed it. There was only 1 GF, shellfish free option on the menu for my wife so she had that. Server wasn't very friendly at all. Having paid attention to the half dozen tables, she was pleasant to the francophones and unpleasant to the two Anglo tables including ours despite my speaking to her in my best French. Shame, oh well.
We were a table of 6 diners. Honestly, none of us understood what the hype was about. The shrimp poutine has some great potential. That sauce truly is great. The shrimp and cheese curds were barely warm and the fries were frozen fries. To be fair, it seems the majority of restaurants in the Gaspesie region serves frozen fries. I think it has to do with the hype that goes with this place that made it disappointing. The lobster club was just meh. Three pieces of bread, lobster, lettuce and tomatoes. No condiments so fortunately lobster is not dry. Again served with frozen fries. The poke bowl was good. The rib platter was good but again, there wasn't anything wow that set them apart from any other place. Our waitress forgot to put one of our orders in the register so one at our table didn't get his plate. As we had trouble getting the waitress' attention (she had too much on her plate), we spoke to the first employee who came close enough to hear. It turned out to be the owner. He quickly rectified the problem. In a few short minutes our missing meal was on the table and our friend was not charged for his meal. But make no mistake, this owner has an unpleasant attitude. The words he chose and the tone he said them in were unmistakable for bad attitude. His replies to other reviewers are a testimony to that. Did we eat well? Sure. Would I stand in line for an hour to get a table again? Probably not. Once was enough.
Not recommended. Manager do not always honor reservation of specific table to accomodate larger group to bring in more revenue. They don't call you to let you of table/section reassignement to make sure you come onsite to bring even more revenue. Lack of respect for client.
Best restaurant in Gaspé. Great service and food.
Excellent service and tasty food!
Food was ok but too expensive for what it was. The entries were the highlights for us.
Huge lineup started at 4pm and never went down (waited about 1h). Service was slow, you'd think they'd be faster to try to serve more clients. But overall one of the best poke bowls and salmon tartare I've ever had!
... the way they do the service and business is amazing! The food and the presentation was delicious and great! I'm coming back, tomorrow! Émilie! Thanks a lot! ... ????????????????????
We loved this place. My kids couldn't stop saying how it's there favorite place. We went at 5h00pm and it was good since there's a huge lineup every day for dinner. We had bouillabaisse and it was delicious, the lobster club sandwich, delish! The seafood nachos was ok. The calamari were good Kids menu had pizza with fries and a drink with dessert. The waiter was very nice and professional
fantastic food, try the chefs special of the night! I travel to Gaspe for work often and this is a must stop each time !! Eat upstairs in the restaurant or down in the bar both great atmosphere's!
The food is great. The only problem is the long line to be there. I spent 1h waiting for a table. The service is great, people are very friendly. I ordered a portion of shirinp that they don't have listed on their menu and it was awesome. I can't give 5 because the time to have a table was so long, also they don't make reservations.
Was disappointed, overpriced, bland, greasy food. I ordered the salmon tartare and the taste of mayo was overwhelming. Fish and chips were mainly chips, the tiny portions of fish were overcooked as were the calamari. The bathrooms garbage was overflowing onto the floor, we needed to ask for more napkins and our empty glasses and bottles sat on the table for half an hour. The staff was kind and did their best. For 200 dollars on 2 adults and 2 minors, I feel robbed. had paper bathrooms garbage was so filled
Lauren, the hostess, was excellent! She was so nice, friendly, and did a great job of processing all the patrons with proof of vaccination, etc, all the while switching back and forth French to English. The dinners were good, the Caesar salad was excellent!
