Best food and service I've had on the island hands down. Plates were taken away post haste, food was prepared in a timely fashion. Bread was very fresh too. The pork was over three inches thick, cooked perfectly. The gf had the ravioli, she's still talking about it! While in gander, this restaurant is a must see. I can't say enough good things about this restaurant.

The most expensive restaurant in town. It has about 5 items on the menu. Just because you put bistro in the name and have a small menu doesn't mean you can charge through the roof for a meal. Noisy and not an enjoyable place to eat.

What a pleasant surprise! We were looking for a refreshment after a week of fish, chips and mussels but no proper veggies, and got this. Fresh pasta, plentiful salads, great service and superb atmosphere. This place is also very kid friendly which was a bonus. For late dinners I recommend calling and reserving, as last seating is around 20:00

Great helpful staff. Good chowder.... but if you're expecting a think broth, this isn't it. They don't use flour in theirs. Cod cakes were a bit bland. We blasphemied the lemon curd cheesecake before taking a photo. It was delicious.

Absolutely amazing food and atmosphere! Felt very welcome and warm the whole time with such a nice server, the steak sandwich was innovative and had great flavor if you like goat cheese and something a little different. The cheese balls were flavorful with a great tomato sauce and balance with cheese and risotto, the butternut squash soup was beautifully light and tasty and went so well with the bread with it. The chili was not crazy but it was a nice warm meal that satisfyed my girlfriend so it must have been pretty good. Lastly, the partridge berry flake made with crispy phyllo dough, whipped cream and an intensely tart but sweet partridge berry sauce was one of the best desserts I’ve ever had! It was so crispy and went together so well with the lightly sweet cream and sauce and the plating was very clean and well put together. Overall the Newfoundland tea Co. is one of the best restaurants in central with amazing food, atmosphere, and a friendly staff, the prices can get a bit high but it’s worth the cash for this experience. Plus the tea is really good:), 10/10 would go again.

Absolutely amazing food...totally upset that I've been coming to gander for years and only just found this place! Wine selection was fabulous, we had an appetizer, main and dessert and everything was made to perfection! Highly recommend! Great and friendly service...felt like eating a high end yet home cooked meal which is always appreciated for someone who travels for work a lot! Will definitely be back when I am back in town!

I have no idea how this place doesn't have a full five stars. I ordered take out, baby greens and the veg pasta. Delicious! Apparently the only restaurant in town that serves pasta not coated in heavy cream sauces. I hidden gem and I highly recommend it.

The food was good. Nice atmosphere but a little bit confusing. There were shelves with interesting local product around the perimeter of the dining room but we would have felt that we were intruding on other diners’ experience by standing next to them and “browsing”.

This place is very unassuming on the outside, but inside has a rustic modern vibe with great looking furnishings. Food was beyond good. “Pork Piccata” and “chicken breast” was amazing and expertly prepared. A bit pricy but well worth it if you want a quality meal, would definitely recommend if you are in Gander

I ordered Cod Puttanesca after a day of touring the Kittiwake coast and Bonavista Bay. The tomato sauce was seasoned just right with no overpowering spices and complemented by the capers and olives. The cod was delicious and the parmesan cheese was just perfect. The portion sizes were also right on.

Went in and bought tea. Tasty! Not cheap, but good for hwr for charging what it is worth. Looked like a sweet place for lunch, but I went for the tea. Beautiful hifh-qualitu handcrafts. I will shop here again and hope to have a lunch next time.

Was spending the night in Gander and thought we'd try out the Bistro on Roe. Let me tell you the reviews are wrong this place is better than that! We ordered the scallops to start, I ordered the burger and the Flourless chocolate cake for dessert. There are no pics of the appetizer of dessert cause I ate it too fast! If you order one this make the Flourless chocolate cake it's incredible! Our server Courtney was also very top notch! Very attentive and sociable! Great food and great service, dining here is a must!

We had such a lovely meal here, a definitely must-visit if you’re in Gander. We came here for lunch and ordered the seafood chowder, cod cakes, and the daily sandwich specials. The chowder was light, flavourful, and filled with plenty of fresh seafood. The cod cakes and sandwiches were also wonderful. Prices are very reasonable as well. The restaurant is very classy, presentation is very nice, and the service is great. We also tried two iced teas and two hot teas, they were all very good.

A gem in a sea of poor choices. Suprisingly in the big box store area of Gander, it blew us away after we had narrowed our choices to a 'chinese and canadian' restaurant or subway for dinner :( We thought someone had some gall calling another surely-diner in a small strip plaza a 'bistro' but they surpassed all expectations! Refined decor, cleanly, excellent wine list, a small dinner menu of expertly prepared selections. Truly a cultured place with taste and class. We spent the same in Twillingate at the Harbourview for far worse decor, service, drink and food (yes the menu had pictures of the food on it...).

Quant little spot located in the heart of Gander. I had the strawberry fields tea and it's just what I needed on a cold October day! Service was amazing and the endless options of teas would make any tea lover want to come back for more! Highly recommend this place for anyone who wants to have a great experience within the comfort of your own town or visiting from abroad!

We frequently visit the Newfoundland tea co. Steak and potatoes are my favorite, and the flourless torte is to die for! Salomon is also a good choice, crab cakes are fantastic! Sadly I cant eat them now because of my celiac disease diagnosis, but they have many options that are all delicious for GF! And everytime we go we get the same amazing service and they handle my food with care to not cross contaminate my meal ????

The food was well prepared and tasty for the most part, except The flourless chocolate cake. I was looking forward to it based on all the positive reviews but really, it was more of a “hot pudding” than a cake. I found the texture unpleasant. I mentioned it to the server and she seemed to think it was my problem, not hers. The chowder and scallops were good, but $18 for 3 scallops? That’s a bit steep.

The service was decent. Good Attention but the main course was slow. The cod chowder was good as an appetizer. My dad and I both got the scallops as our main and in addition to be slow it was well over-cooked, which was disappointing and will impact whether I go back. I am a Newfoundland who was visiting home and eager to have a nice meal that does the island justice and was disappointed.

This has been our family’s ‘go-to’ for a nice meal out in Gander for years, and we’ve always found it be of consistently high quality. Service is friendly and knowledgeable - and willing to go over and above to accommodate guests’ special requests. With a slightly more adventurous menu than you’re likely to find anywhere else in Gander, it’s definitely a good bet for celebrating any sort of occasion or just for a delicious meal in a relaxed but well-appointed atmosphere.

A sweet little restaurant that was so different inside than out. A quaint lovely restaurant decorated with many items available for purchase from local craftsmen. The service was great! The food was delicious as eas the homemade Apricot lemonade. The Cod Cakes and burger were fabulous and the Flaky Dessert was a lovely finish to a great meal!
